I expect the long awaited conspiracy to trick Israel into giving Islamic forces justification for a massive counterattack, when Hizbullah draws her across Lebanon’s northern border with some action designed for that very purpose, to soon include Lebanon’s new President as one of the confidents and participants in the plan.

Hizbullah’s history in Iraq

US Brig.-Gen. Kevin Bergner said Monday that a senior Hizbullah operative, Ali Mussa Dakdouk, was captured on March 20 in southern Iraq.

He said Dakdouk served for 24 years in Hizbullah and was working in Iraq as a “surrogate” for Iran’s Quds Force. The US military is accusing Iran of using Hizbullah as a “proxy” to arm Shi’ite terrorists in Iraq.

This is the first time US military authorities in Iraq have presented concrete evidence of Hizbullah’s direct involvement in the Shi’a violence against the US coalition forces in connivance with Iran. However, since the US army occupied Iraq and ousted Saddam Hussein’s regime, Hizbullah has been in the background as a possible troublemaker, in line with its anti-American, anti-Western ideology and strategy and based on its historical ties to radical Shi’a movements in Iraq.

One little-known fact regarding Hizbullah is that members of the Lebanese branch of the Islamic Da’wa Party, an Iraqi organization, were among the group’s founders in 1982, along with the Lebanese Islamic Amal movement and a group of radical clerics with roots in the Shi’a holy city of Najaf, Iraq. Many of the terrorist operations against Gulf states during the 1980s were perpetrated by Hizbullah cells or by local Shi’a groups that had received Hizbullah training or support. The Iraqi Islamic Da’wa Party was involved in several of these operations.

After the end of the 2003 war in Iraq, Hizbullah’s Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and his deputy Naim Qasim addressed the question of whether Hizbullah itself would play any role in the Iraqi resistance. Qasim claimed that the organization would not interfere in “internal Iraqi affairs.” Yet, when pressed to comment about what Hizbullah would do if the situation in Iraq “develops into something that looks like an intifada,” he replied, “Let us wait and see the developments first, for we do not know what the circumstances will be.”

Soon after the war, Nasrallah offered a more detailed explanation, claiming that Hizbullah would consider joining an Iraqi insurgency against US forces, but that it was a matter first for the Iraqi people to decide. . . . “All Arabs, Muslims and honorable people in the world should support a people that decides to resist the occupation. Hizbullah is part of the Arabs and Muslims.” At the same time, he qualified these remarks by asserting that Hizbullah “should not be expected to take action for which it was not armed or prepared.”

Interestingly, statements of this nature reflect the same strategy that Hizbullah has used in the framework of its terrorist and military activity against Israel: leaving the enemy in the dark about its real intentions while hinting to its constituency that it intends to strike at the right moment.

In any case, Hizbullah’s actual connections to the Iraqi opposition have been evident since early in the war.

In late March 2003, the Oman daily al-Watan claimed that the Shi’a opposition in Iraq included “the newly formed Iraqi Hizbullah, whose emergence has raised questions about its links with its Lebanese counterpart,” which itself “has become increasingly involved in the Iraqi issue.”

In June, the London-based al-Quds al-Arabi, whose sympathies in Iraq lie mainly with the Sunni opposition, reported that Hizbullah had initiated secret contacts with supporters in Iraq to form a group that would serve as the organization’s arm in Iraq. In August, a new Iraqi jihadist group, Hadithah Mujahedin, vowed attacks on US forces and called on the “brother mujahedin in Palestine and Lebanon” to “derive lessons of jihad . . . from the mujahedin of Hizbullah in sisterly Lebanon.”

By November 2003, Hizbullah had reportedly “established a significant presence in Iraq,” including a security team of up to 90 members. According to Bush administration officials, the intent of this presence was unclear. Because Hizbullah members did not immediately participate in attacks on US forces in Iraq, administration officials speculated that the organization’s goal could be “to help the Iraqis politically” or to act as a deterrent in case Washington attempted to unleash the Mujahedin-e Khalq, an Iraq-based Iranian opposition group, against the Teheran regime.

Given Hizbullah’s history, it is difficult to view its current role in Iraq as merely “political”; rather, the organization was just waiting for the right moment to strike.

During a May 2004 solidarity march in Beirut staged by Hizbullah “in defense of the holy places in Iraq,” Nasrallah declared: “We will remain present in this confrontation, defending Lebanon, defending Syria when it is targeted, supporting our brothers in Palestine, backing our brothers in Iraq, standing on the side of Iran as much as our capabilities allow us.”

Nasrallah explained at the end of his speech that the slogan “We respond to your call, O Husayn” means constant readiness and willingness for martyrdom.

In November 2006 American intelligence sources stated that the Lebanese Hizbullah had been training members of the Mahdi Army, the Iraqi Shi’ite militia led by Moktada al-Sadr.

Some 1,000 to 2,000 fighters from the Mahdi Army and other Shi’ite militias had been trained by Hizbullah in Lebanon. A small number of Hizbullah operatives have also visited Iraq to help with training, the official said. The militia members had learned about weapons, bomb-making, intelligence and assassinations.

The Hizbullah training had been conducted with Sadr’s knowledge. Iran has facilitated the link between Hizbullah and the Shi’ite militias in Iraq, the US official said. Syrian officials have also cooperated, though there is debate about whether it has the blessing of the senior leaders in Syria.

During the summer 2006 war in Lebanon, a mid-level Mahdi commander claimed his militia had sent 300 fighters to Lebanon, “the best-trained fighters in the Mahdi Army,” called the Ali al-Hadi Brigade, to fight alongside Hizbullah. According to an American intelligence official, the Mahdi Army and other militia fighters traveled to Lebanon in groups of 15 and 20. Some were present during the fighting between Hizbullah and Israel, though there was no indication they had taken part in the conflict.

The present claim about Hizbullah’s role in training Shi’ite militias in the service of Iran and in inflicting casualties to US and British forces in Iraq could be part of the Bush administration’s campaign to increase the pressure on the Teheran regime regarding its negative role in Iraq and also in preparation of harsher sanctions concerning its nuclear project.

Shiite group’s reach extends far beyond Lebanon, poses global threat

Recently, Iran’s sabre-rattling has escalated in an attempt to deter an attack on its nuclear facilities. Last month Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad threatened that “the (Iranian) armed forces will cut off the enemies’ hands before they can put their fingers on the trigger.”

While many have interpreted this as a possible pre-emptive missile strike emanating from Iran, there is an even more sinister possibility.

Over the last few years, Iran’s proxy Hizbullah has been spreading its influence far and wide. In its brinksmanship with the West, Iran has learned much from the two neighboring Gulf Wars. As opposed to Saddam Hussein, whose threat of an all-out campaign against the West was largely rhetoric, Iran takes a global view and is diligently preparing terrorist networks all over the world to spring into action when the word is given.

Hizbullah is an integral part of the Islamic revolution regime in Tehran. The ruling Iranian religious authority gave Hassan Nasrallah the title of Lebanese “representative,” making him an essential part of the Iranian revolution.

Hizbullah receives millions of dollars a year from Iran to finance its operations. After the Second Lebanon War it received even more funds to compensate for its military and civilian losses and to rehabilitate the Shiite villages that supported it. The Iranian funds are transferred to Hizbullah by the al-Quds Force of the Revolutionary Guards, the Iranian Foreign Ministry, and official institutions with branches in Lebanon.

The current relative calm along Lebanon’s border with Israel should not be mistaken for a cooling off of Hizbullah’s enthusiasm. Rather, it serves to mask Hizbullah’s focus of its main goals: changing the Lebanese constitution and ensuring a greater Shiite presence in the Lebanese parliament, with an eye to eventually taking over Lebanon by exploiting the country’s democratic processes to turn it into a radical Shiite Islamic country like Iran.

However, Hizbullah’s mission reaches far beyond Lebanon. Hizbullah is very popular in the Arab world, even amongst Sunnis, and is an important factor in sweeping the masses into jihad.

The organization assists those who target their own governments in weakening Sunni opposition and in creating an admittedly ad hoc strategic alliance with the all the branches of the Muslim Brotherhood across the globe, infiltrating even Palestinian areas.

These activities are in line with the Iranian leadership’s 50-year plan made public at the end of the 1990s.

According to an Iranian document, the plan is to export the Islamic revolution to neighboring countries and beyond through preaching, encouraging Shiite emigration, purchasing real estate, forming political organizations, infiltrating the local political establishments, and taking over the various parliaments and focal points of political power.

‘We have the means’

Iranian-Hizbullah footprints can be found in various African and South American countries. In Nigeria, for example, Hizbullah operates within the expatriate Lebanese Shiite and local populations. The leader of the indigenous Shiites in Nigeria, Sheikh Zakzaky, has created idolism for Hassan Nasrallah and the leaders of Iran.

In Venezuela and o ther South American countries Hizbullah has been waging a long-term campaign to convert

the native Indians to Shiite Islam. Teodoro Rafael Darnott, also known as “’Commander Teodoro,” recently claimed, “If the United States were to attack Iran, the only country ruled by God, we would counterattack in Latin America and even inside the United States itself. We have the means and we know how to go about it. We will sabotage the transportation of oil from Latin America to the US. You have been warned.”

On June 29 the Kuwaiti daily al-Siasa reported that Hizbullah was training young men from Venezuela in its military camps in south Lebanon to prepare them to attack American targets. In addition, Hizbullah and Iran has set up secret cells abroad for carrying out terrorist attacks.

Such cells were responsible for the attacks on the Israeli Embassy and the AMIA Jewish Center building in Buenos Aires in the early 1990s, the attacks in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, and attempted attacks in London and Thailand.

Meanwhile, ABC reported that the American and Canadian intelligence services had information about Hizbullah sleeper cells in Canada whose role was to gather intelligence about Israeli and Jewish targets in Ottawa and Toronto for possible terrorist attacks.

The ramifications of Hizbullah’s reach are the very real threat they pose in many corners of the world. Iran has understood that to truly threaten and hold the West hostage it must create a multi-faceted menace to the citizens of these nations and their interests. Hizbullah’s web of terror cells provides them just that.

The UK government is one of very few in the world to fully recognize this threat by recently outlawing the military wing of Hizbullah. It is time that more Western nations follow suit if they are going to neutralize Iran’s surrogate and joker card in case of an attack on its nuclear program.

Lebanon as Attack Planning Conspirator

It will not be too much longer until Syria, Iran, and Hizbullah work the new Lebanese President Sleiman into their secret inner circle leadership pack of wolves planning an eventual all out jihad attack against Israel.

Syria, Hizbullah, and Iran have won the battle for Lebanon from the U.S. and her allies. You may now color her “Iranian surrogate.” When the final Middle East war of Daniel 11 begins, Lebanon will be a full fledged participant in a Syria-Iran-Hizbullah conspiracy plot designed to lure Israel across its border with Lebanon, in order that a justifiable southern response charge can catch Israel by surprise, and eventually drive her into the Negev while the west watches in amazement, and its protests to the United Nations will avail nothing.

DAMASCUS: Lebanese President Michel Sleiman heads on Wednesday for a groundbreaking visit to Damascus carrying an agenda loaded with thorny issues, including the establishment of diplomatic ties. The two-d ay visit is the first by

a Lebanese head of state since a 2005 Syrian troop pullout from Lebanon in the aftermath of the murder of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

The summit between Sleiman and Syrian President Bashar Assad aims to redefine ties between Beirut and Damascus, which dominated Lebanon for three decades until it withdrew its forces. The agenda features prickly issues such as a border demarcation, a review of longstanding accords, Lebanese detainees in Syria and the presence of radical pro-Syrian Palestinian groups in Lebanon, diplomatic sources said.

According to a Lebanese official in Beirut, the establishment of diplomatic relations and opening of embassies will top the agenda.

Assad and Sleiman, whose states have not had diplomatic relations since independence more than 60 years ago, agreed to finally set up ties at a meeting last month in France, their former colonial power.

Beirut-Damascus links have been on the decline since former Hariri’s murder in a February 2005 Beirut bomb blast

in which Syria has consistently denied charges of involvement.

But the Doha accord struck in May between the pro- and anti-Syrian camps in Lebanon after an 18-month political crisis which degenerated into deadly violence cleared the way for Sleiman’s election as president.

“Syria wants a stable, united and Arab Lebanon which does not serve as a trampoline for hostile activities,” Elias Murad, editor in chief of the Syrian ruling Baath party’ s new

Officials in Damascus insist that Syria has not interfered in Lebanese affairs since its troop withdrawal and

has instead worked to reunify ranks in Beirut, pointing to the Doha power-sharing accord.

But the Beirut daily An-Nahar, reflecting the suspicions of the anti-Syrian parliamentary majority in Beirut, on Sunday voiced doubts over how Damascus will “manage the relations.”

The official in Beirut, declining to be identified, said ahead of the visit that the fate of a Lebanese-Syrian higher council and a 1991 friendship and cooperation treaty would also figure high on the agenda.

The parliamentary majority wants both the treaty and council to be scrapped.

But the council’s secretary general, Nasri Khouri, said embassies did not spell the end of the coordination body.

“There will be coordination between the two countries’ embassies and the council,” he told AFP.

The fate of the Israeli-occupied Shebaa Farms, where Beirut claims sovereignty with the consent of Damascus, is also expected to be discussed.

I am afraid the article which follows is correct in its prediction the Arab moderates will succumb to the extremist jihad pressures.

Regardless of whether we like it or not, the Middle East is headed for the first great caliphate since the last remnants of the first great caliphate died by the sword of Mongols in 1258 A.D.

The United States will continue its great naval forces and potential nuclear power, but we will withdraw into a shell at the very thought of sending our forces into foreign conflicts as we did in Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq. Defensive force maintenance YES, but body bag Offense NO!

In the Middle East, it’s the extremists who are prevailing

The pattern of policymaking in the Middle East, as it was defined since US President George W. Bush’s “axis of evil” speech of January 2002, is undergoing a momentous change of direction. Bush’s foreign-policy paradigm of an alliance of “moderates” to defeat the “extremists” – a model too enthusiastically seconded by an unimaginative Israeli leadership and by those Arabs (led by Egypt and Saudi Arabia) who dread the forces of radical change – has collapsed.

The “extremists,” whom Bush expected to be defeated through economic sanctions, diplomatic isolation and military action, have prevailed. It is the “moderates” who must now adapt their policies.

Israel and the United States failed resoundingly in their attempt to dislodge Hamas from Gaza, or in forcing it to accept conditions for an end to the international boycott.

Fearing the costs of an invasion of Gaza’s urban alleys, Israel handed a strategic victory to Hamas. It accepted a truce – brokered by an Egyptian government fearful of Iran’s influence in neighboring Gaza – that not only gave Hamas political legitimacy and undermined the international community’s policy of not negotiating with the fundamentalist group, but also allowed it to continue rearming. Indeed, Hamas now poses a strategic threat to Israel’s urban centers and military facilities.

Israel’s 2006 war against Hizbullah, supported by the United States and the entire Arab “moderate” camp, was no more successful.

In fact, Hizbullah is now not only militarily stronger than ever – Security Council Resolution 1701, which called for its disarmament, has proven to be an utter failure – but also more politically robust than before the war. Admirably adept at weaving together all of Lebanon’s political, religious, and nationalist threads, Hizbullah’s leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, is today the undisputed master of Lebanon.

The Syrian patron of Hizbullah, President Bashar Assad, another member of the “axis of evil,” is also doing well.

Not only Israel and the US, but also Egypt

and Saudi Arabia have hoped for the political demise of this friend of every radical regional cause – from Hamas and Iran to the anti-Western forces in Lebanon – that they oppose. But Assad managed to emerge from Syria’s forced withdrawal from Lebanon in 2005 to become the broker without whom a Lebanese government could not be created and a president could not be elected.

his, and the indirect negotiations with Israel that are now under way in Turkey – which Assad knows cannot produce major results, given Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s political weakness and Bush’s lame-duck status – have helped to open for Syria the gates of Europe, where he had also once been a pariah.

America’s drive to force Iran to stop its nuclear program through an ineffective sanctions regime has been no more successful than any of its other schemes to isolate the region’s extremists. Indeed, the US has now completely reversed its position of not negotiating with Iran until it stops uranium enrichment.

The participation of Under Secretary of State William Burns in the European dialogue with Iran, together with plans to station American diplomats in Tehran for the first time since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, represents a momentous shift in America’s policy, and also an indication to Israel to refrain from a military strike. Bogged down in Iraq and Afghanistan, America is in no mood to open a third front against the Islamic world. The consequences of an Israeli attack on Iran “would be extremely stressful for us,” warned Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Michael Mullen.

With the defeat of his ideologically inspired foreign policy, Bush has finally decided not to remain blind to the benefits of engaging Iran and perhaps to a lesser extent Syria. However isolated within the Arab family the Syrians may be, and however embattled their Iranian allies are, the two countries hold the keys to Middle East stability. They are crucial players in Lebanon; they have a role to play in pacifying Iraq; they can influence a change of attitude of powerful and extremely destabilizing non-state actors like Hamas and Hizbullah; and their leverage on Hamas is vital for the stability of the Palestinian fr

ont. Engaging Iran is also the only way to stave off a nuclear apocalypse in the region.

Of course, the overall cooling of political tensions reflects the collapse of another misconception of the Bush administration – that the “axis of evil” is an irrational coalition interested only in spreading evil. Pursuing radical goals does not necessarily mean that a country will act irrationally.

Neither Syria nor Iran – in fact, not even North Korea – has an interest in being the pariahs of the world community, and each fully understands the economic consequences of isolation.

Their policies are about more than spreading terror and revolution; they are about promoting negotiable interests.

They are both mindful of the limits of the politics of destabilization, and they are clearly looking forward to a more dialogue-oriented American administration willing to address their political and strategic concerns.

The first time I ever set foot in French Morocco was in 1952, while it was still owned by France. I traveled extensively across Arab lands, and was there in December of 1952 when a revolt broke out between the French Authorities and Moroccan political parties.

This uprising led to the outlawing of a new in-country Communist party and the exile of its Sultan from the country in 1953.

I was back in the states attending Advance Forecasting in a USAF IHL when Morocco was granted independence by France in 1956. I returned overseas in 1959, returning to the U.S. in 1961, working as a synoptic analyst and severe weather forecaster in the Federal Office Building in Kansas City, from which I returned overseas in 1965.

Morocco is indeed a moderate Arab country, but I am convinced that it will not be able to hold the line against internal radical elements, and will end up in the camp of Daniel’s 10 toes when push comes to shove.

Uproar Over Loud Prayer Calls In Muslim Morocco

(AP) The muezzins’ calls echo well before daybreak, summoning the Muslim faithful to daily prayers and reminding foreign tourists in the Moroccan capital how far they are from home.

But the rising decibel level is deepening fault lines between a government drive to modernize and a wave of rigorous political Islam.

Morocco, a country of 33 million people, gets more than 7 million tourists a year. And there are worries that some may be put off by the five heavily amplified calls a day, each lasting five minutes, to “hasten to the prayer, hasten to the prayer.”

Muslim purists counter that authorities are compromising religion to please Westerners and the country’s liberal elite.

The frictions are happening in a country that is considered moderate on matters of religion and is a U.S. ally and at a time when there are fears that al-Qaida is establish ing itself

in North Africa.

Morocco has lately been shaken by two different cases in which the government, or wealthy Westerners, have been accused of plotting to force down the volume on the muezzins who make the call to prayer.

Nouzha Skalli, the minister for family and social affairs, is accused of seeking legislation to lower the volume on muezzins in tourist zones.

Newspapers have asked whether Skalli, a feminist and former Communist, is trying to curb Islam and impose secularism on the overwhelmingly Muslim society. Some hard-line imams have cursed her during public sermons.

“It made huge waves, even a tsunami,” Skalli said in an Associated Press interview.

She wouldn’t say what exactly she had proposed, because it happened at a closed-door Cabinet meeting. But she denied suggesting a law to muzzle the muezzins and said her statements were taken out of context.

“It was a complete manipulation,” she said.

Skalli views her job of promoting women’s rights as part of a wider struggle between two models of society: one of “modernity, equality and openness” versus “closing-off and backwardness.” She suspects she was targeted “because I’m a woman and because I represent modernity.”

Earlier this year Annie Laforet, a Frenchwoman, was blamed for the closure of a mosque next to the luxury guest house she runs in the old town, or medina, of picturesque Marrakech. The claim, which Laforet denied, caused outrage in the local press, and Laforet says she received death threats on Islamist Web sites.

Local authorities backed her denial and then reopened the mosque, from which the prayer call now blares every morning about 4:30 a.m., and then again an hour later.

“It’s a bit loud, but it’s fine,” Laforet said. “Tourists know it’s part of living in the medina.”

Still, Mohammed Darif, a Moroccan political scientist and expert on Islamism, says hard-liners increasingly are depicting the tourist influx as a threat to Muslim values.

The wealthy may support the government’s pro-Western and liberal values, he said. “But the Morocco of poverty, backward countryside and urban slums is increasingly averse to tourism and the internationalized elite.”

He said some Moroccans complain of walled-off resorts that make them feel unwelcome.

“It’s discrimination by wealth, and tourism is highlighting the sore,” he said.

Olivier Roy, French author of “Globalized Islam,” says the tensions are a new phenomenon, and that the former French colony has “a history of cohabitation” in which Western hippies of the 1960s and ’70s were welcome visitors.

Roy says louder calls to prayer are a product of Salafism, a rigorous strain of Islam imported from Saudi Arabia.

“Thirty years ago you could barely hear the muezzin,” he said.

Also, he said, the audio technology used for prayer calls has improved, and imams are in competition to fill their mosques.

Islam is the state religion in Morocco and the king is the “Commander of the Believers.” The state trains and appoints all imams, but ends to avoid dictating standards of public behavior.

Criticizing any form of Islamic practice is difficult in the Arab world because no Muslim wants to stand accused of being irreligious, Roy said.

But as conservatives have become more outspoken, so have moderates. For a Cabinet minister to say anything critical of prayer calls “would have been unthinkable only 10 years ago,” he said.

Miloud al-Atifi is an imam who doubles as the muezzin in his small mosque in Sale, a poor suburb of Rabat.

He takes a benign view of the muezzin uproar.

“The prayer cleanses the soul, it’s fundamental,” he explained, but loudspeakers are simply a technical aid and can be toned down if, for instance, they’re near a hospital.

They are helpful in competing with honking cars, he says, but nowadays believers can have the call piped in on their cell phones. He also notes that the Council of the Ulemas, Morocco’s highest theological authority, has held that the pre-dawn prayer call should be a hushed one.

As for tourist zones, the imam doesn’t think there’s a debate.

“If there are only non-Muslims around, it makes no sense to even have a call for prayer.”

At Last – The Ultimate Religious Weapon Is Discovered!

No, it is not the security fence, that’s old hat. Why? Because anybody is capable of building one of those! Why, both India and Saudi Arabia are planning one of those common, ordinary, everyday things, even though they both voted to put Israel on trial by the International Court of Justice for building one to keep out terrorists.

India has apparently decided to build a fence along its border with Kashmir to stop terrorist penetrations into

its population, and Saudi Arabia has infuriated Yemen by planning to build a fence between them to stop terrorists from entering to affect their population. Could the ultimate weapon be the nuclear bomb Iran is frantically trying to produce in the process of swearing it has no such intention? You know, the bomb it swore

it did not have the ability to develop because of its inability to develop enriched uranium, which we

have now discovered to be a lie, since receiving the Pakistan confession that it sold Iran plans for an advanced stage two uranium processor, the maker of highly enriched uranium.

But the mother of all weapons does not consist of wire, or of a nuclear bomb. It has been walking on four divided hoofs for a very long time.

It has finally come on the scene, the religious weapon of weapons, and should be heralded as the Day of the Pig in religions circles. It has been reported in Israelinsider, Israel’s daily magazine, that Israeli police are considering using pig lard in buses and other places to deter the Muslim suicide bombers that have taken so many lives on Israeli buses. This was according to a report by Maariv on February 12, 2004. According to the report, the proposal received the Jerusalem rabbinate’s approval.

The suggestion by the police is based on the position of strict Muslim traditional teaching, which holds that any Muslim who comes in contact with a pig before dying will be denied access to heaven. As for the rest of us, who are not Muslim or Jewish, it doesn’t matter one way or the other, because Islam believes we are all hell bound anyway, so we might as well enjoy our bacon, catfish, and ham on the way down.

According to the report, Minister Gideon Ezra had previously suggested burying the corpses of suicide bombers wrapped in pigskin to deter the attacks. The proposal never got serious consideration in Israel, because its opponents suggested it would only serve to encourage all the suicide bombers, egged on by clerics stating that Jews were defiling the burial rites of Islam. Russian security forces reportedly buried some Chechen terrorists in pigskins last year in an attempt to end their suicide bombing attacks.

But we Gentiles know that pigskins, properly prepared, are a best seller at super markets and service stations, and burying them is a waste of a great taste.

Rabbi Eliezer Moshe Fisher, at the Jerusalem Rabbinical Court, ruled in early February that “there is no Halachic ban on using bags of (pig) lard in buses and other places” when saving lives is concerned. The Halachic permit says bags of (pig) lard may be used in any place that might be a target for suicide bombings, such as schools, shopping malls, and railway stations.

The Halachic permit was necessary because Jews also consider the pig to be an unclean animal, as are catfish because they do not possess scales.

Deuteronomy 14:8,9 – And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.

[9] These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:

For those of you who have skinned catfish, you are well aware of how bad you smell after completing the process.

So if they were to use bags of the perfume of catfish aroma on the buses, it would absolutely stop all suicide bombings on buses, because no one would ride the buses.

The Rabbi also went on to say that if police do not use pig fat in buses, tens of thousands of ultra-orthodox Jews will arm themselves with toy water pistols filled with liquid pig lard to be used against terrorists. So, from now on, I plan to carry small packets of pig lard with me on all my flights. I am hopeful they will arm all the Air Marshals with pig-greased bullets, and the pilots with toy pig lard pistols. Maybe we could put a pig on every flight. And, just in case there might be vampires or werewolves sneak on board, we could carry a few wooden stakes and silver bullets.

In all honestly, please forgive me my levity, this is a very serious matter, and if pig lard works for the Jews, have at it, for I have been pro-Israel from my youth.

In October, former Chief Rabbi Mordehai Eliyahu and Kiryat Arba’s Chief Rabbi Dor Lior gave their endorsement to a proposal to test the use of wild pigs in detecting terrorist infiltrators and explosives in West Bank communities. A former trainer of sniffer dogs said, “Boars could also be better than dogs in finding mines and explosives.”

Rabbi Daniel Shilo of Kedumim, who is the chairman of the rabbinical committee of the Yesha Council of Jewish Communities in Judea, Gaza, and Samaria, said, “The prohibition of raising the pig is known, but because we are dealing with pikuach nefesh, the saving of lives, it is made permissible to have the animal.”

I have always wondered why, on the eastern shores of the Sea of Galilee, there was a herd of swine being raised in Christ’s day. Were the ones in charge of the swine Jewish? Who knows, the Scripture merely indicates they were inhabitants of Gadara, in the country of the Gadarenes. But the descendants of the Jewish tribe of Dan were called Gadites.

But even if those tending the pig herd were not Jewish, I have wondered, from time to time, if some of that bacon and ham did not end up for sale on the Israelite side of the border, even before Jesus appeared in Israel. The following Scripture was written more than 700 years before Jesus came to the country of the Gadarenes.

Isaiah 66:17 – They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the Lord.

The two verses preceding this verse are a most apt description of a period of time referred to as the tribulation period that will soon come on this earth, especially in the rift valley of the Jordan River and the fault from Haifa southeast past Megiddo to the Jordan (See Update 158S).

Skunk bombs deter West Bank rioters

JERUSALEM: Israeli security forces have started to use liquid “skunk bombs” to disperse demonstrators in the occupied West Bank, police said yesterday.

Israeli defence scientists analysed the foul-smelling liquid squirted by angry or frightened skunks and created a synthetic version for use as a weapon.

They said border police used the new crowd-control method for the first time at the weekend near the Palestinian village of Nilin at the weekly demonstration against Israel’s separation barrier.

Use of the stinking liquid was given the green light by medical and legal authorities, police said.

It can be hurled by hand or with a special device, forcing most demonstrators to disperse and rush off to change their clothes because of the unbearable stench.

Border guards have been using live rounds or rubber-coated bullets when the protests turn violent. On July 29, a Palestinian child was shot dead in Nilin.

Israel says its projected 723km of steel and concrete walls, fences and barbed wire in the West Bank is needed for security, while Palestinians view it as a land grab that undermines their promised statehood.
