I pointed out in some detail in Part 1 of this Series that the EVERLASTING gospel did not begin in the New Testament.  It came into existence before the foundation of the world.  And it has always been the promise of the Seed, Christ Jesus.  God knew before he ever made man that man would make the wrong choice, and thereby need a Savior.

Ephesians 1:3,4 – Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: [4] According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

The first application of the promise of the Seed is found in the Garden of Eden, immediately after Adam and Eve disobeyed God.

Genesis 3:15 – And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

The EVERLASTING gospel is the good news promise of God made here in simplistic Old Testament format.  It did not begin in the New Testament.  It came into existence by name, and as the “better” covenant or promise with the arrival, the ministry, the sacrifice, the death, and the resurrection of the Old Testament Lamb Seed of God, the man Christ Jesus.

The gospel has always had the true characteristic of EVERLASTING because it has always been an unconditional covenant.  However, the extent of the good news, that it was totally by the grace of God in his promised seed, was not able to be completely understood until the Seed had totally fulfilled every jot and tittle of its requirements for all who would receive him as the full atonement for all their sins – That is why it is good news and why it is a “better” covenant – because now the believer is able to understand that Christ fulfilled it for him, and that the salvation in the covenant is totally by the grace that was, and is, in God’s promised Seed.

And the promise, the covenant, of a Seed deliverer was continued through the great flood by grace extended to Noah.  Salvation has always been by grace through faith in the promised Seed being confirmed by God in Christ.  It was the Seed, the man Christ Jesus, who confirmed the covenant, the promise of God.  It was God in him that reconciled the world to himself by him.

II Corinthians 5:19 – To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Romans 4:7,8 – Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. [8] Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

As was pointed out in Part 1 of this series, the gospel, the good news was first announced in Genesis 3:15, and the covenant was continued through the flood by the grace of God extended to the surviving human race by grace through Noah, a direct descendant of Seth.  God’s promise, God’s covenant, has always been by faith that God’s Word, God’s promise of a Seed, is true.

Genesis 6:11-13 – The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. [12] And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. [13] And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. [18] But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee. [8] But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

God continued his grace promise, his grace covenant of the Seed, through Abraham.

Genesis 22:18 – And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

Galatians 2:21 – I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Romans 10:13 – For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

But how can we be sure “thy seed” refers to Christ, the promised Seed, and that it is an unconditional covenant that produces EVERLASTING salvation that will never be taken away once received?

Galatians 3:16-18, 1-14 – Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. [17] And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. [18] For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. [1] O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? [2] This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? [3] Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? [4] Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. [5] He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? [6] Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.  [7] Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. [8] And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. [9] So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. [10] For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. [11] But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. [12] And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. [13] Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: [14] That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive saved.

John 5:24 – Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 11:25,26 – Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: [26] And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

PLEASE CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING O.T. NAMES – Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham. Isaac, Jacob, Sarah, Joseph, Moses, Rahab, Gedeon, Barack, Samuel, and the Prophets.  (What did all of them have in commom?)

Believers – If you had to make a guess, how many Old Testament saved souls do you think are in heaven today?_____________________________

Where are the O.T. martyr’s souls today?  Many of them have been there from Abel to John the Baptist, and the N.T. martyr soul’s that have joined them up to the present time and will continue to be added to them till the 7th Trump Rapture.

Revelation 6:9-11 – And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: [10] And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? [11] And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. (So what did all of them have in common?)

Believers – If you had to make a guess, how many saved souls do you think will be in heaven after Trumpet 7 sounds, remembering Chapter 6:9-17 is a preview of the entire Tribulation period, What would be your guess? ______

Chapter 7, and its Seal 7, continues a preview of events that are a preview of the events of Seal 6 to the 2nd Advent and the Millennial Reign which follows it.

THIS IS A PREVIEW OF THE 7TH TRUMP RAPTURE & 2ND ADVENT

Revelation 7:9 to 8:2 – After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; [10] And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. [11] And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, [12] Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. [13] And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? [14] And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. [15] Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. [16] They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. [17] For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. [1] And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. [2] And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE VAST HEAVENLY MULTITUDES WAS THEY SERVED GOD FROM HIS CALL UNTIL THEIR NATURAL DEATHS OR TURNED BACK TO HIM AND IT COST THEM THEIR LIVES.

ALL THE SAVED HAVE ETERNAL LIFE, BUT THEY WILL NOT ALL WEAR THE SAME ATTIRE, AND THEY WON’T ALL LIVE INSIDE THE WALLS OF THE NEW JERUSALEM CITY.

Colossians 2:9,10 – For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. [10] And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

Isaiah 9:6,7 – For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. [7] Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Isaiah 7:14 – Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel (God with us.)

Revelation 14:6 – And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the EVERLASTING gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Chapter 14 is a parenthetical chapter in the Revelation, and John sees a heavenly messenger fly in the midst of Heaven, with the everlasting gospel to preach unto earth’s tribulation period inhabitants.

The word translated “EVERLASTING” is “aionios.” It is an adjective – A word that describes the properties, characteristics, and qualities of the gospel – time in its duration that is constant, abiding, forever, denoting not belonging to what is transitory.  It does not mean the gospel will be preached eternally – It means the results of receiving it are eternal, everlasting, forever.  As an adjective, it describes the character of the noun, which is the “gospel.”  When one believes, receives, accepts the gospel, he or she receives the EVERLASTING benefits of its character, having been passed from under the condemnation of God EVERLASTINGLY, as well as being EVERLASTINGLY passed from spiritual death to ETERNAL SPIRITUAL life.

John 5:24 – Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, HATH EVERLASTING life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

The character of God is EVERLASTING as is his Son’s character.  The character of God continues in all of his children EVERLASTINGLY.

John 12:50 – And I know that his commandment is life EVERLASTING: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

The EVERLASTING gospel did not begin in the New Testament.

The unconditional covenant of God’s Seed promise was announced immediately after Adam and Eve had sinned and broken their spiritual union with God – They both DIED SPIRITUALLY.  God immediately promised he would send a Seed to crush the power of the Devil’s hold on their souls by stepping on his head, but advised that the Seed’s own body would be bruised in so doing.

Genesis 3:15 – And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Isaiah 53:5 – But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

When Cain arrived they naturally thought God meant their first seed would fulfill verse 15, but when he rose up and slew the second seed, Abel, they knew neither of them was the promised one from God.

Genesis 4:1-3 – And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord. [2] And she again bare his brother Abel.

So they waited for the third seed, still thinking he might be the one promised of God.  But after Seth came a new problem arose – Seth had a son, Enos.  So was Seth or Enos the promised Seed?  It began to dawn on them that the promised Seed might be a distant descendant of Seth.  They did the only thing they could do by faith.  They began to trust in the Lord that he would one day send the Seed he promised and, while they waited, the ones who believed God’s promise began to call on the name of the Lord.

Genesis 4:25,26 – And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another SEED instead of Abel, whom Cain slew. [26] And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: THEN began men to call upon the name of the Lord.

And believers have been doing that ever since by faith in the promise of God.

Romans 10:17 – So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 10:13 – For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

It is a better covenant because now we know the name of the Seed upon whom we are to call, and we know how he died for all our sins, and lives in heaven as the only intercessor for those sins.

Acts 4:12 – Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Hebrews 10:4-18 – For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. [5] Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: [6] In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. [7] Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. [8] Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; [9] Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. [10] By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. [11] And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: [12] But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; [13] From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. [14] For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. [15] Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, [16] This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; [17] And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. [18] Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

The characteristic of the promise is EVERLASTING life in the promised Seed, who gave those who call on his name the characteristic of his life.  And the very character of his life is EVERLASTING.

John 5:39-41 – Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. [40] And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. [41] I receive not honour from men.

John 5:21-23 – For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. [22] For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: [23] That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

CHRIST CONFIRMED THE PROMISES OF THE GREAT COVENANT!

November 25, 2014

http://www.tribulationperiod.com/

Romans 15:8 – Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:

Daniel 9:27 – And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Romans 15:9 – And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.

Psalm 18:49 – Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name.

Romans 15:10 – And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.

Isaiah 66:10-16 – Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her: [11] That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory. [12] For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees. [13] As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem. [14] And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the Lord shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies. [15] For, behold, the Lord will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. [16] For by fire and by his sword will the Lord plead with all flesh: and the slain of the Lord shall be many.

Romans 15:11 – And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.

Psalm 117:1 – O praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.

Romans 15:12 – And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

Isaiah 11:1 – And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

Romans 15:13 – Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

I AM CERTAIN THE 3 HE’s IN DANIEL 9:27 ARE JESUS CHRIST

IT WAS NEVER TAUGHT AS BEING ANTICHRIST BEFORE 1740

THE 70 WEEKS OF DANIEL’S 9:24-27 PROPHECY – Part 3

Daniel 9:24-27 – Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. [25] Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. [26] And AFTER threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. [27] And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

The SUBJECT of this entire discourse in Daniel is not “the people of the prince that shall come,” nor is it “the prince that shall come.”  They are both subordinate to the subject.  The contextual subject of these four verses can only be the Messiah the Prince, who is Jesus, the anointed holy one, the Christ of the living God.

Prior to the Evangelical Movement of the mid 18th century, the belief among Bible expositors was that the three personal pronouns signified as “he” in Daniel 9:27 referred not to the sub-topical prince in 9:26, but rather to the main topical subject of each verse, that is, the Jewish Messiah who was to come.  We were advised in verses 25 & 26 that, AFTER 69 weeks of years (483 years), that is, DURING the final 70th week of seven years, the Messiah would be cut off (crucified).  Please allow me to exposit these verses as they were exposited by mainstream prophetic teachers up to the mid-18th century.  After doing extensive research, I was not able to find anything published prior to 1740 that indicated the “he” in Daniel 9:27 was the future antichrist.  Most taught that the “he” in Daniel 9:27 was the Messiah, Jesus Christ, and some thought it had already been fulfilled by Antiochus Epiphanes in 168 BC, but I have been unable to find any prior to 1740 that believed it was the antichrist we are awaiting today.

Daniel 9:25,26 – Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. [26] And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

It was generally accepted that Jesus began the confirmation of the Abrahamic covenant by offering the Davidic Kingdom promise to the nation of Israel.  He began to offer it to them after his baptism by John.  His baptism marked the beginning of the 70th week.  We know that his offering of the Kingdom lasted more than three years, but less than three and one-half.  So he was cut off (crucified) in the MIDST of the final 70th week.  In reality, we are not waiting for the 70th week to start – we are actually waiting for the later part of it to be fulfilled.  Let’s take it verse by verse, phrase by phrase.

Jesus arrived as the Messiah the Prince, and was baptized by John 483 prophetic years after one of the decrees of Artaxerxes Longimanus. His Father’s approval at his baptism marks the beginning of his ministry of three plus years.

Matthew 3:16,17 – And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: [17] And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

John was preaching that the Messiah was coming to bring in the Kingdom of David, which would confirm the Abrahamic seed covenant. Then Jesus came to him, and John identified him as the Messiah. Then, when John was imprisoned by Herod, Jesus began to preach the same message of the Davidic Kingdom.

John 1:32,35,36 – And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. [35] Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; [36] And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

Matthew 3:1,2 – In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, [2] And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Mark 1:14,15 – Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, [15] And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Christ came to fulfill the Davidic Covenant as the Son of David and the seed of Abraham through the virgin Mary, the daughter of Heli.  Mary had a double lineage from David through the man Zerubbabel, whose lineage on both sides was from David.

Genesis 15:18 + 22:17,18 + Galatians 3:16 – In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: [17] That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; [18] And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. [16] Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Then the covenant was expanded through God’s mercies to David to all the nations.  The covenant of Daniel 9:27 was first confirmed, and then fulfilled by Jesus Christ, the Messiah.  It is the kingdom covenant found two chapters before 9:27.

Daniel 7:13,14 – I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. [14] And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Messiah the Prince Confirmed the Davidic Covenant of the Kingdom!

II Samuel 23:1-5 + Psalm 89:2-5,27-29 + Romans 4:6-8 – Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said, [2] The Spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his word was in my tongue. [3] The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God. [4] And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain. [5] Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an EVERLASTING COVENANT, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow. [2] For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens. [3] I have made A COVENANT with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant, [4] Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah. [5] And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O Lord: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints. [27] Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. [28] My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and MY COVENANT shall stand fast with him. [29] His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven. [6] Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, [7] Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. [8] Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Malachi 3:1,2 – Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of THE COVENANT, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts. [2] But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ sope:

John was the messenger of the Messiah, and Jesus was the Messiah, the messenger of THE COVENANT.

And this is THE COVENANT Jesus confirmed for seven years, but was cut off in the MIDST of the seven years, between the third and fourth year.

Jesus completed more than three years into the fourth year of the 70th week, and was crucified to eternally confirm the sacrifice of sinless blood and flesh for the sins of all who will receive him.  His final cleansing of the temple in righteous indignation against a nation that had turned His Father’s house into a house of merchandise, rather than a holy house of prayer, was the final “overspreading of abominations” that made it spiritually “desolate” toward God.  Messiah’s act caused God to abruptly “cease”  honoring their “sacrifices and oblations” until the consummation of this present age, at which time those desolate of God’s Spirit, because of unbelief, will experience a time of trouble like man has never known.

Matthew 23:37-39 – O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! [38] Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. [39] For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Matthew 24:21,22 – For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. [22] And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

Daniel 9:26 – And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

Jesus was cut off (crucified) for the sins of others because he possessed none of his own.   As predicted in Luke 21:24, Titus, a Roman Prince, showed up 40 years later with his army and destroyed the city and the sanctuary.  In the final attack his troops came in like a raging flood, overrunning and setting fire to the Temple Mount.  The war raged on for almost three years after that, during which determined desolations were carried out by the legions of Rome. They are recorded in the writings of Josephus, the Jewish historian.  It could well make you sick at your stomach to hear the grisly desolation details. The final battle was for Masada, where the encircled Jews committed suicide rather than be carried into slavery.

Luke 21:24 – And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

The early church fathers, followed later by noted theologians such as Theodotion, Havernick, Hengstenberg, Barnes, and B.H. Carroll, held that the three personal pronouns (HE) in Daniel 9:27 referred not to the prince of verse 26, but to the subject of all the verses, that is, “the most Holy” (v.24), “Messiah the Prince” (v.25), and “Messiah” (v.26), who is Jesus Christ, the Messiah the Prince.

As you have observed, I do not believe we have a full week of years left in Daniel’s final 70th week.  So how much time do we have left when Daniel’s clock starts ticking again? When the security wall/fence barrier is completed, and the Palestinians with their associated terrorist groups are put behind it, then the Israelis will begin to say they finally have “peace and safety,” and Daniel’s clock will soon begin to tick again for Israel and Jerusalem.

I Thessalonians 5:3,4 – For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. [4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

In a future Prophecy Update, I will verbally lay out the scenario of the 1ast 1335 days of the Gentile Age, and present charts and graphs which picture what I verbalize.

John 4:23,24 – But the hour cometh, AND NOW IS, when the TRUE worshippers shall worship the Father in SPIRIT and in TRUTH: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. [24] God is a Spirit: and they that worship him MUST worship him in spirit and in truth.

Philippians 2:8-11 – And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. [9] Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: [10] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; [11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Acts 4:12 – Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

John 13:30-35 – He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night. [31] Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him. [32] If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him. [33] Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you. [34] A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. [35] By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

I Corinthians 13:2 – And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

AND THOUGH I HAVE THE GIFT OF PROPHECY, AND ALL MYSTERIES, AND ALL KNOWLEDGE;

Although the word “prophecy” applies more frequently to simply proclaiming the word of God, in this context it refers more to proclaiming future events.  The teaching of the future events revealed by God are certainly a part of the book of God’s love we call the Bible, but it is not in any way superior to the teachings of the Bible that cause the believer to grow in the love of God.  Some believers are prophecy nuts, and thrive on it, but are sadly lacking in the love of the one who gave the very prophecies they seem to thrive on.  It is the love of God manifested in all these prophecies that is the spirit of prophecy, the mystery of prophecy, and the knowledge gained from prophecy, and the thing we should seek from them.  It is the love of God that causes us to watch, to desire, and to hope for his coming.  It is not the time of his coming that is most important, it is that he IS coming, and that we hope it is soon.  If our motivation in wanting to understand the prophecies of God is based on a love to reveal them to others, so they may be used to establish them in the love that is in Christ Jesus, then our presentation of prophecy has the right motive.  The primary motive behind prophecy presentation should always be to build up the local body of Christ in love for “the obedience of the faith.”

Romans 16:25-27 – Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, [26] But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: [27] To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.

Ephesians 3:21 – Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

AND ALL MYSTERIES, AND ALL KNOWLEDGE;

Love is superior to great knowledge and understanding.  This involves inspiration and prophecy, which was the work of the prophets.  Had they not been filled with the love of God, they could not have written it, so it always leads back to God, who is love.  All the true knowledge, prophecy, and understanding we possess, we have only because God, in his great love, chose to reveal it to us.

AND THOUGH I HAVE ALL FAITH, SO THAT I COULD REMOVE MOUNTAINS, AND HAVE NOT CHARITY, I AM NOTHING.

Whatever it is that we have, which can be classified as acceptable to God, we received from God, and his love in us is his very nature, and the greatest gift of all, for all the others stem out of it.

John 3:27 – John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be GIVEN him from heaven.

Romans 12:3,4 – For I say, through the grace GIVEN unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath DEALT to every man the MEASURE OF FAITH. [4] For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

Ephesians 2:22 – In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

John 13:34,35 – A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. [35] By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

This new commandment is superior and is the law of Christ.  It is this commandment that is to be the reason, the motivation, for our service to Christ, and this is the motivation that Christ seeks to implant in our hearts.

Galatians 6:2,3 – Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. [3] For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

The main point that Paul puts forward in I Corinthians 13 is that worship in the local church is to be based on love, not individual gifts the members were excelling in, such as prophecy, knowledge, understanding, or faith, or any other thing except love for the brethren.  We were born from above for that purpose – unfeigned love of the brethren.

I Peter 1:22,23 – Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: [23] Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Romans 5:5 – And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is GIVEN unto us.

I Corinthians 13:13 – And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
