70 WEEKS OF DANIEL’S 9:24-27 PROPHECY – Part 7

Age of the Prophecy Revisionists

Daniel 9:27 – And HE shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week HE shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspread

ing of abominations HE shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

The vast majority of preachers today do not realize the major revisions to prophetic teachings that were brought in during

diflucan cost

the age of the great revisionists from 1760 to 1920. I do not accept the majority of the revisions that were made during this period.

I challenge anyone reading this to produce a pre-1740 book on prophecy, based on Biblical interpretation, that shows a diagram dividing the tribulation period into two sections, each one 3 and ½ years in length, with the first resurrection occurring at the beginning of the first 3 and ½ year period.

I would also like for someone to show me a published book before 1740, based on Bible interpretation, showing a diagram dividing the tribulation period into sections, each one 1260 days in length, with the first resurrection occurring at the beginning of the second period of 1260 days.

For that matter, I would also like to see a published book before 1740, based on Biblical interpretation, teaching that the rapture would occur at

cipro 500

the middle or the beginning of the tribulation period.

It is possible that a pre-1740 published book does exist somewhere that shows the tribulation period divided into two sections, each one 3 and ½ years in length, but I have looked long and hard for it in many ancient, musty, religious book archives in the U.S. and abroad, and I have yet to find it.

Prophetic teachers of this generation have lived with the two division diagrams so long they think they came over on the Mayflower. But basically these diagrams were a product of the first of the week rapture position, which is such an ingrained part of prophecy teaching today.

The so-called “first of the week” position, as well as what is known as the “middle of the week” position, cannot be found in existence in any published book about the Bible before 1740. In fact, it is the term “week,” appropriated by the revisionists, that is largely responsible for the mass exodus from orthodox prophetic teaching, which occurred in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The bulk of all prophetic teaching of today is based, directly or indirectly, on the revisionist teaching on Daniel 9:27, which, to a large extent, was accelerated with the initial appearance of the “first of the week” position in the early 19th century. If the teaching on Daniel 9:27 by the revisionists is incorrect, then much of today’s prophetic teaching is in error. I believe this is the case, and I have been labeled as a revisionist myself because of it. I am certain that the great Bible expositor B.H. Carrol, who continued to believe the pre-1760 teachings until his death, was correct in what he taught concerning Daniel’s 70th week.

how do antibiotics affect birth control pills

For you see, before 1827, the majority of orthodox prophetic teachers were convinced that the “he” in Daniel 9:27 was Jesus Christ, not the antichrist – THEY WERE RIGHT. We are not waiting for a “week of seven years” to be fulfilled!

Why not? – Because Jesus has already fulfilled most of the first 3 and ½ years. We are facing a tribulation period of the last 3 and ½ years, preceded by a much briefer period of peace than many are expecting.

Daniel 9:27 – And HE shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week HE shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations HE shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

According to the vast majority of popular Protestant prophecy teachers today, the first half of Daniel’s last “week” (the seventieth) will be 1260 days of peace following a peace treaty between Israel and the antichrist. This teaching came into existence at some point in time between 1740 and 1830 when, for the first time, preachers began to teach that the three “HE’s” in Daniel 9:27 represented the end time antichrist. Prior to that time the vast majority of preachers taught the three “HE’s” represented Jesus Christ, and a minority believed it had already been fulfilled by Antiochus Epiphanes, but I have yet to find anyone who said it was the end time antichrist, which is what most preachers are sure the “HE’s” represent today. In 168 BC Antiochus Epiphanes occupied the city of Jerusalem, entered the Holy of Holies, desecrated the sanctuary by offering unclean animals upon the altar of burnt-offerings, polluted the whole building by sprinkling it with water in which flesh had been boiled, dedicated the Temple itself to Jupiter Olympus, erected a statue of deity to Jupiter, and plundered the temple treasures.

But Messiah of verse 26 was not cut off (crucified) before 168 BC, nor did Antiochus ever confirm a covenant with Israel. The three HE’s of Daniel do not represent Antiochus or the future antichrist – they represent Jesus.

Please look at the following Scriptures and see if they present three and one-half prophetic years of peace. In every case they represent a 1260 day period that will be fulfilled during the last 1260 days of antichrist prior to the Second Advent of Christ.
Revelation 11:2,3 – But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot FORTY AND TWO MONTHS. [3] And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy A THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND THREESCORE, clothed in sackcloth.

Revelation 12:14 – And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for A TIME, AND TIMES, AND HALF A TIME, from the face of the serpent.
Revelation 13:5 – And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue FORTY AND TWO MONTHS..

TIMES AND THE DIVIDING OF TIME.

Every time the capitalized phrases in these verses are used, they always refer to the last 1260 days, never to the first 1260 days. I contend this is because Christ fulfilled the first half of the week before he was cut-off (crucified). We will not have the advantage of three and on-half years of peace to reveal the antichrist to us.

body bro good levitra stuff up whats yea yea

One of the most interesting facets found in interpreting Daniel 9:27 is that it is not directly quoted by specific content in the New Testament.

blinklist com levitrai

And, equally interesting, is the fact that any inferred reference taken from it is by indirect inference to a period of time that happens to match the one-half of one of Daniel’s weeks of 2520 days, or three and one-half years of 360 days in length. Even more interesting, in all cases it refers strictly to the last half of the 2520 day period by expressions like “42 months,” “1260 days,” and “time, times, and half a time.” I do not believe the first half of the seven year period is specifically detailed for those of us living in the last days because it has already been fulfilled by the Messiah the Prince, and only the later portion has yet to come to pass before Armageddon.

I implore you to take a look at what was taught by most orthodox prophetic teachers before 1827 about Daniel’s 70th Week. It is fully exposited in our Prophecy Archives on Updates 230B, 231, 231A, 231B, 232, and 232A. Also please scan Updates 73D, 74A, 76, 78A, 82A, 114A, 144A, 144F, and 219B for the pre-1760 Rapture Position.

look up number

I am not concerned about the position believers hold on the rapture unless it is taught to be as firm a doctrine as salvation by grace, but the recent massive publications of books that have come out of the “Left Behind” series is staggering, and some have come to believe it is one of the great doctrines of the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. I am only anxious that the massive numbers of believers on this planet realize the very distinct possibility that they may have to go through part of the tribulation period, which I believe is in the not too distant future. Many believers have never even heard any other position than the first of the week and, if they do hear there is, the one telling them usually tells them it is most certainly incorrect. The every day believer-on-the-street has no idea of what was believed before 1740, only what began to be taught after that, principally since 1827. I am not looking for a group of people to believe what I teach about the rapture and Daniel’s 70 weeks of year, I am simply trying to advise believers to be aware what many routinely teach today as fact was not taught before 1740. I am certainly not looking for followers – for McElmurryites – I am looking for “considerers.”

IRAN UPRISING AND MIDDLE EAST WAR,

AHMADINEJAD IS AN UNGODLY SHIITE THUG,

AND YET OBAMA STILL DESIRES TO TALK TO IRAN!

READ THE FIRST EXCERPT AND THEN THOSE FOLLOWING,

THEN ASK YOURSELF: HOW CAN HE THINK IRAN WILL RESPOND?

WILL A FALLOUT OF THE IRANIAN REVOLUTION BE A MIDDLE EAST WAR?

June 30, 2009

http://www.tribulationperiod.com/

The Iranian revolution is not over, but it has been successfully repressed by brutal bloody masses of Ahmadinejad’s radical murderous Shiite thugs. It will continue to simmer behind closed doors from now until the government believes it will resurface on a scale that might overthrow it. At that time Iran will use Hizbullah and Hamas to trigger a war with Israel in order to unite the Iranian people in a war against the nation of Israel. If there is a danger of losing power, starting a war with enemies is a tried way of uniting all your internal enemies against a common foe. I believe the excerpt from DEBKAfile, which immediately follows, has a good possibility of being valid, with a Middle East war breaking out at some point in time between 2010 and 2015.

“Hizbullah has stretched, facilitated by Iran, across the Middle East, Central Asia, Europe and Latin America,” said Magnus Ranstorp, a terrorism expert at Sweden’s National Defense University. “It grants Iran global power and Hizbullah has become more susceptible to Iran’s efforts to project its influence.”

“Hizbullah is capable of striking in Germany or more likely planning an incident like the al-Qaeda cell in Hamburg that planned the attack on New York,” said Alexander Ritzmann, a fellow at the European Center for Democracy.

General Douglas Fraser, the new head of U.S. Southern Command, this week warned that Hizbullah and other Iranian allies posed the greatest threat to security in Latin America.

“The real concern is not a nation-to-nation interaction; it is the connection that Iran has with extremist organizations like Hamas and Hizbullah and the potential risk that that could bring to this region,” he said.

U.S., EU seek to include Hamas in peace process U.S., EU seek to include Hamas in peace process

By Akiva Eldar Haareta 28 June 2009

www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1096045.html

The American government and the European Union are making efforts to include Hamas in a broader diplomatic effort that would include a long-term cease-fire with Israel, reconciliation among Palestinian factions and support for renewed negotiations with Israel on the basis of the Arab peace initiative.

A deal is reportedly being formulated for the transfer of abducted Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit to Egypt, under the assumption that this would encourage Israel to agree to a deal with Hamas that would include the release of Palestinian prisoners and opening border crossings. A European diplomatic source told Haaretz yesterday that talks about manifesting the deal were held secretly until late last week, and only four persons were privy to the details of the talks. Israel was not a party to the effort.

Last week Israeli sources denied knowledge of any developments or plans to transfer Shalit to Egypt, a matter that Arab, and particularly Palestinian sources, gave much attention to in their reports. Israel has downplayed reports of a pending breakthrough in the Shalit case, and Israeli officials urged caution and noted that Shalit’s release has been undermined in the past by too many public statements.

According to the Saudi Arabian newspaper Al-Hayat reporting from Damascus, a U.S. official visiting Syria two weeks ago said that “the Hamas leadership has recently made important and interesting statements.” The official added that the U.S. is following the Hamas stance and hopes that the group will alter its views and adopt a two-state solution.

Hamas hails US policy change

Meshaal rejects hardline Israeli PM’s conditions on Palestinians’ promised statehood.

June 26, 2009

DAMASCUS – Exiled Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal on Thursday welcomed what he said was a change of US policy towards his Islamist movement which controls the Gaza Strip and said he looked forward to renewed Palestinian unity talks later this week.

“We hail the new line from Barack Obama towards Hamas. It is the first step towards direct talks without preconditions,” Meshaal said from his base in the Syrian capital Damascus.

Meshaal said Hamas would “work swiftly to end the rifts in Palestinian ranks and achieve national reconciliation through talks being brokered by Egypt.

“To this end, a delegation will travel to Cairo in the next two days to tackle the obstacles,” Meshaal added.

Egyptian mediators have set a July 7 target date for a deal to reconcile Hamas and the West Bank-based Palestinian leadership of president Mahmud Abbas after months of faltering negotiations to mend the rift sparked by the Islamists’ 2007 seizure of Gaza.

Western aid for the reconstruction of Gaza after Israel’s devastating offensive at the turn of the year is dependent on the outcome of the talks.

Despite its upset 2006 victory in Palestinian parliamentary election, both the European Union and the United States refuse to have any dealings with Hamas until it renounces violence and recognises Israel and past peace deals.

In recent days Hamas officials have signalled that they may be ready to accept a Palestinian state limited to the territories seized in the 1967 Middle East war despite a commitment in the movement’s charter to regaining the whole of historic Palestine.

But Meshaal warned that the Islamists wanted concrete gains for the Palestinians.
Hamas has “no illusions about the new policy… we want change on the ground that will bring about an end to the occupation,” he said.

Netanyahu declared that there will be no new settlements in the West Bank, nor will the borders of existing settlements be expanded. Among the important points he made is the willingness of Israel to resume negotiations for a two-state solution right away.

In a democracy, the majority is entitled to define its own identity.

The recognition of Israel as a Jewish state does not mean that we “ignore” the Arab population. Arabs have been living with us in the Jewish state and are doing much better than their brethren in the neighboring non-Jewish states.

The real key to peace lies in this recognition. When our partners understand where we come from, and respect our heritage and tradition, as

Think Again: Calling evil by its name

June 25, 2009

Jonathan Rosenblum , THE JERUSALEM POST

Upon his first visit to one of the liberated death camps, Allied Supreme Commander Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower said, “There are those who ask what are we fighting for. Let them come here and see what we are fighting against.”

Eisenhower’s remark contains an important insight: Sometimes it is more essential that one define the nature of evil

best cialis levitra viagra which

than that one define what is good. About the latter, there will inevitably be many opinions. But they need not prevent a consensus from coalescing around the definition of evil.

I was reminded of that point last week as I watched The Third Jihad, the third in a trilogy of documentaries on the threat of radical Islam produced by Raphael Shore and Wayne Kopping. Toward the end of the documentary, one of the experts interviewed, former CIA intelligence officer Clare Lopez, declared: “The real war is between the values of freedom and barbarism. If we are not willing to recognize the battle as one for our civilization, we might as well give up right now.”

The last time the West faced such a civilizational threat, many refused to recognize the nature of the conflict. In Troublesome Young Men, Lynne Olsen offers a gripping account of the group of youthful Conservative backbenchers who eventually ousted British prime minister Neville Chamberlain and brought in Winston Churchill in his place, nearly a year after the outbreak of World War II.

England entered that war totally unprepared, and lagging far behind Germany in every respect apart from its navy. Even after Britain declared war following the Nazi invasion of Poland, Chamberlain pursued it halfheartedly and dreamed of an imminent peace. Britain and France bombed only German military targets, narrowly defined. Meanwhile, Luftwaffe pilots in Poland followed orders to “close [their] hearts to pity,” happily machine-gunning women and girls picking potatoes, bombing churches and hospitals, and strafing toddlers being herded to safety.

THE PARALLELS between today and the earlier period are eerie. Chamberlain, like US President Barack Obama today, enjoyed an overwhelming majority in Parliament. His party whips enforced party discipline with an iron hand – think Rahm Emanuel – and backbenchers who stepped out of line jeopardized their political futures.

In another interesting parallel, Chamberlain enjoyed almost across-the-board fawning support from the press and the BBC.

That included self-imposed censorship on the information reaching the British public.

After the Anschluss, British papers carried no pictures of the hundreds shot in the first days after the Nazi takeover, of the tens of thousands arrested and sent to concentration camps, or of Nazi soldiers forcing Jewish doctors, lawyers and professors to scrub streets and clean toilets on their hands and knees. When reporters asked Chamberlain about such matters, he snapped at them for believing “Jewish-communist propaganda,” and that was the end of the matter.

The British press ignored both the massive German arms buildup prior to the war and the pitiful state of British preparedness. Both before and after the conflict started, it suppressed mention or quotations from Hitler’

s speeches that would have conveyed a much different impression of his goals. As a British TV character tartly observed 40 years later: “It is hard to censor the press when it wants to be free, but easy if it gives up its freedom voluntarily.”

Chamberlain never read Mein Kampf, in which Hitler laid out in startling fashion both his future plans for the Jews and for German conquest.

Far from viewing Hitler as an evil man, Chamberlain believed him to be a “gentleman,” with whom he could do business. He was more than once shocked to find that Hitler had lied to him, even though that too was foreshadowed in Mein Kampf. Said future prime minister Harold Macmillan: “He didn’t believe people existed [who would] say one thing and do another… It was pathetic, really.”

According to Olsen, Chamberlain “could never bring himself to believe that [Hitler and Mussolini] wanted to go to war. Clinging to the security of his ignorance, he created a peace-loving image of them that defied reality.” For a decade, the English and French did nothing in response to fascist aggression in Abyssinia (Ethiopia), Austria and Czechoslovakia, and precious little even in the wake of the German invasion of Poland.

France and England thereby encouraged Hitler to believe they were too weak to prevail – a judgment in which he was very nearly right. That should have taught us – but did not – that those who hope to avoid war via appeasement inevitably end up fighting later on worse terms.

At no point did Chamberlain recognize that Hitler constituted a mortal threat to Western civilization.

As a consequence, he displayed far more ruthlessness in fighting those within his own party who dared challenge his policies than he did in fighting Hitler.

THE INABILITY to recognize Hitler as evil incarnate is the most frightening parallel to today. President Ronald Reagan was reviled by Western elites for calling the Soviet Union the evil empire, as was President George W. Bush for grouping Iran, North Korea and Saddam Hussein’s Iraq together as the axis of evil.

The West still remains incapable of acknowledging evil or giving credence to the pronouncements of

buy zithromax non-prescription

evil men. Ayatollah Khomeini long ago made clear that he was prepared to see Iran go up “in flames,” if the worldwide rule of Islam were thereby furthered. Mutual assured destruction, says Bernard Lewis, the greatest living authority on Islam, is for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad “not a deterrent but an incentive.” Surveying the scene in Beslan, where Chechnyan Muslims killed nearly 300 Russian schoolchildren, one of the speakers on The Third Jihad puts the point succinctly: Why should those who don’t hesitate to send out their own children to be killed hesitate to kill other peoples’ children?

Yet the highest wisdom in the West today is to not take seriously the threats of Ahmadinejad or the speculations of the Iranian leadership about the mathematics of a nuclear exchange with Israel. The mullahs are anything but mad, Roger Cohen assured us in The New York Times two months ago, in explanation of why the US should not succumb to Israeli hysteria about the Iranian nuclear threat. (At least Cohen now admits to being a dupe with respect to the Iranian leadership, though I’ve yet to see a retraction of his description of Israel’s stranglehold on American foreign policy.)

Obama has no taste for confrontation with radical Islam. He cannot even admit to its expansionist aims.

To do so might necessitate a response beyond nice words.

He has yet to show any of the heat when discussing the Iranian regime’s mowing down of its citizens that he musters when discussing Israeli settlements.
