Russia and North Korea are desperate for economic growth.

They are anxious to receive payment (for the installation of nuclear facilities and the sending of their nuclear technicians to Syria and Iran) to boast their pitiful economies.

Iran, because of great accumulated wealth from its vast oil reserves, is able to pay them handsomely for their services.

The Chinese need Iranian oil to fuel the industries that have provided China with a rapidly growing, prosperous economy.

Al-Thawra: Syrian-Chinese Oil Company opens HQ in northeast

Syria’s Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Ibrahim Haddad, inaugurated on Thursday the headquarters of Al-Kawkab, the Syrian-Chinese Joint Oil Company near Jabasa fields in Hasaka governorate in northeast Syria.

The minister noted in a statement to al-Thawra paper that the company, which was established last year, had exerted efforts to develop and fix a number of oil fields and wells there.

“We have developed the old Gbaiba oil field due to production decrease and threat of big decrease. The field is now producing 10,000 B/D while its production was 6000 B/D,” the minister said adding that the plan was aimed to increase production to 12000 B/D during the coming three years.

Six oil wells have been dug till now horizontally, and 12 others fixed in the field.

Haddad noted that four contracts were inked to develop Gbaiba, Ouda, Tishrin and Shiekh Mansour fields.

Regarding oil exploration sites, the minister said 27 sites were explored and there was an open tender for 9 sites to choose the best offer.

“We now have a new plan to build the third refinery in Deir al-Zour, in the northeast. It will have the capacity of 140,000 Barrel/day,” he said.

Yang, the Chinese president of the company, expected in a statement that the entire production of the field will be in three years one million tones annually, noting that the current production do not exceed 30,000 tones.

Russian Oil company to Establish a Refinery in Syria

Syria’s Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Ibrahim Haddad, on Sunday conferred with the Director General of the Russian Trans KazOil Progress Company, Pereiv Nizami, on the Russian Company’s offer to establish a petroleum refinery in Syria with a capacity of 140,000 bpd.

The new project will be made according to Investment Law No.10. The Russian Company will submit an economic feasibility that takes into consideration all conditions surrounding the project and requirements of crude oil to supply the refinery and selling the oil products, resulting from the project.

Talks also referred to the possibility for the Russian company to finance another project for developing Banyas Refinery on the Syrian Coast.

Following the meeting, Minister Haddad told SANA that the Russian Company submitted a request to the Investment Bureau to establish this refinery at an amount of $ 2 billions.

“The refinery will play an important role in developing the oil manufacturing sector in Syria and increasing petroleum products locally manufactured,” the Minister of Oil added.

Iran Offers

N. Korea Oil for Nukes

The German daily Diegier Spiel, citing western intelligence sources, reported on Saturday that Iran has offered North Korea oil

and natural gas in exchange for assistance in developing nuclear missiles.

According to the report, brought forth by Army Radio, a senior official from the Iranian government visited Pyongyang, North Korea’s capital, in October in order to propose the deal.

It was not clear, however, what the North Korean response was to the Iranian offer.

Iran’s Shihab 3 long-range surface-to-surface missile, capable of reaching Israel and some European countries, is based on North Korean missile technology.

Diplomatic sources added that Iran was continuing in its efforts to acquire nuclear capabilities despite international pressure on Iran to cease their pursuit of enriched uranium.

The Iranians have maintained that its nuclear aspirations are strictly for “peaceful purposes.”

Also on Saturday, Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called for US

President George W. Bush’s administration to be tried on war crimes charges related to Iraq and denounced the West for its stance on Iran’s nuclear program, state-run Iranian television reported.

“They say Iran has to stop its peaceful nuclear activity since there is a probability of diversion while we are sure that they are developing and testing (nuclear weapons) every day,” Ahmadinejad said. “They speak as if they are the lords of the world.”

“Who in the world are you to accuse Iran of suspicious nuclear armed activity?” asked the Iranian president during a nationally televised ceremony marking the 36th anniversary of the establishment of the volunteer Basij paramilitary force.

Structural Damage in the Tribulation Period

The construction of buildings across the Middle East and Far East have building codes that are either non-existent, or pathetic, regarding their ability to withst

and earthquake damage.

Anything above a magnitude 5 can cause the complete collapse of many buildings near

the epicenter. It is quite impossible to imagine the horrifying destruction that is going to tear across this area for some three and one half years prior to the final battle of Armageddon.

When the antichrist stands on the temple mount and sends out the call for the final battle of Armageddon, this area will be leveled by chains of earthquakes rippling through the Middle East and Asia much greater than magnitude 5. Even as I was preparing this article to put up today, a second earthquake greater than magnitude 6 was occurring in Iran. Knowing the construction of the buildings in the area of the quake, I am sure it will be as bad, or worse, than the Chinese quake. The following Scriptures picture the future aforementioned chaos associated with

the latter part of

the tribulation period.

Earthquake in Central China Kills 14, Injures 377

A strong earthquake has hit parts of central China, killing at least 14 people, injuring 377 others and destroying hundreds of buildings, the government said.

The official Xinhua News Agency said the magnitude-5.7 quake hit Saturday morning and was centered in central Jiangxi province’s Ruichang city near the border of Hubei province.

Most of the damage occurred in Ruichang and in the popular resort town of Jiujiang, it said. Several counties in neighboring Hubei were also affected.

There is also a distinct possible that Russian is now working to get Syria off the hook in the Security Council.

There is no question in my mind that Russia will come down to assist the antichrist in the final battle of Armageddon at the very end of the tribulation period.

Russia will not directly engage in the first attack against Israel, but some three and one-half years later will come down, along with China, to join in the final battle of this age, which closes with the Second Advent of Christ.

From now on, look for Russia and/or China separately or together, to aid Syria and Iran in their conflicts with the United Nations international community, both politically and in weaponry development and supply.

China needs oil to feed its growing industrial machine and Russia needs money to fuel its sagging economy. The latest news releases indicate that Russia is ready to help Syria in the Security Council by vetoing sanctions in that body raised by the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Hariri, if the UN presses Syria to surrender Bashar Assad’s brother-in-law for a questioning session outside Syria’s borders.

Russia and China will not directly participate in the following battle and war of Revelation 12:6. This is an attack I believe could occur as early as 2007, and is likely to occur before 2012.

Revelation 12:6 – And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Both Russia and China will come down at the battle of Armageddon, which will occur some 1260 days after 10 Arab nations drive Israel into

the Negev Wilderness.

Experts Call for Earthquake Early-Warning System

When Israel is struck by a powerful earthquake – and the experts are unable to predict when it could happen – it is highly likely that numerous buildings will collapse.

However, it is possible that a short-term warning system will enable some of the people living in those buildings to escape in time, or to find shelter in protected places. Israeli geologists are now working to set up a tremor monitoring system, which may also prevent the collapse of vital infrastructure and emergency systems.

The Israeli Geological Institute in the Infrastructure Ministry and a number of experts are trying to set up an early warning system for earthquakes together with the Geophysical Institute and Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI), which is capable of processing data at high speed.

A similar system is already in operation

in several places prone to earthquakes such as Mexico, Japan and Turkey.

achs, a former director in the Geological Institute, says the new system is based on seismographs.

When there is a tremor, these monitoring instruments transmit information by radio waves to a data processing center, which sends the alert to instruments in various places.

These instruments can broadcast a warning, like a siren or an alarm, or automatically shut down vital systems to prevent damage during the quake.

When a tremor occurs, it generates seismic waves that are not destructive but are picked up by the sensors at the epicenter. The waves of destruction move more slowly and arrive later.

“The system can send out a 10- to 60-second warning in large population centers, from the moment the tremor occurs to the beginning of damage to buildings, according to the distance from the quake epicenter,” says Wachs.

A short-term alert would enable residents to move to a protected area in houses or to get into stairwells.

Residents of lower floors would be able to exit the building. The alert would trigger a halt in power, trains, gas mains and production processes in plants with dangerous substances.

The Airports Authority could stop take-offs and landings, and traffic lights would prevent cars from going on bridges.

Officials in the Geological Institute, run by Dr.

Binyamin Begin, and in the Earth Sciences Administration in the Infrastructure Ministry, agree with Wachs

and believe that a warning system is vital in the preparation for earthquakes.

More than four years ago, in early Spring of 2001, we issued Archive Prophecy Update Number 24A, which is still in our archives for review. Please take a look at it on our Web Site, and then read today’s BLOG. Things are really coming together!

Israeli elections are often quite unpredictable and this one is certainly not an exception. The newly formed party by Ariel Sharon, which he has given the party name of “Forward,” is likely to receive the most votes, but will not have a majority large enough to be declared the new government. It will have to merge with perhaps as many as four other parties to form a new government.

Whatever party or parties make up any new government will finish the security barrier/wall/fence, put the Palestinians behind it, and say, “O.K., now you have your independent state you have demanded for so long, but we are going to monitor all checkpoints and the wall itself to keep terrorists out of our independent state, so that we can have a condition of ‘peace and safety’.” I believe such a condition could be in place as early as 2007, but most assuredly by 2012. “Peace and safety” will not last very long, and as soon as the Israeli population actually believes it is real, the second part of what is written in I Thessalonians 5:3 will suddenly be fulfilled. The saved are not in spiritual darkness on this event, and should not be shocked when it occurs.

I Thessalonians 5:3,4 – For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

[4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

Top Advisor: PM to Offer PA Independence for Security

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon will offer the Palestinians independence in exchange for a guarantee of security for Israel if he is reelected prime minister, according to comments by a top adviser published in a British daily yesterday.

Political strategist Eyal Arad told The Guardian that Sharon would not operate on the principle of land for peace if he wins elections slated for March.

Arad did not answer phone calls requesting comment yesterday.

Sharon left his Likud party this week in an effort to gain a free hand to proceed in negotiations with the Palestinians, and called for disbanding parliament.

Polls show he has the best chance at winning

the next elections.

Sharon will follow the road map peace plan, and abandon the principle of land for peace, which failed with the Oslo Accords, Arad told the newspaper.

“The road map replaced the falsehood of `territories for peace’ with a much more realistic formula – security for independence,” Arad told the daily, according to its Web site.

“The road map postulates … total dismantling of all terrorist apparatus … What the prime minister says and what the road map says is that before full compliance nothing will happen,” he said.

The principle in Oslo that, if you remove Israeli occupation, Palestinians will stop attacking Israel is “both false philosophically and naive politically,” Arad said.

The root of the conflict is based on the Palestinian quest for independence, Arad said.
