A DONATIST AND ROMAN DOCTRINAL CHURCH SPLIT EXISTS TODAY

Revelation 17:1,5,11-18 – And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, [5] And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE earth, [11] And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. [13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. [14] These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. [15] And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. [16] And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. [17] For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. [18] And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

Revelation 18:4 – And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

The early New Testament churches developed two great centers of growth and doctrine until a major split developed and ruptured in 311 AD. One center formed north of the Mediterranean Sea in Rome, and the other center formed south of it at Carthage along its shoreline

Empire Adopts Church –Christianity was officially made the state religion under emperor Theodosius IX in the year 381. It started off the century as a persecuted minority. By the end of the century the persecuted church had turned into a persecuting church. Its motives made sense. It saw itself as combating heresy, false religion and evil forces. In many ways it was a different church and a different world at the end of this century. The.Canon of New Testament confirmed. In the 367 AD Easter letter of Athanasius, and at Councils in 382 and 397, final recognition was given. These do not create the Christian scriptures but confirm what was already generally recognized and accepted. Millions of new members poured in. Becoming a Christian is no longer a risk, but can even be politically and socially opportune, so the church has to deal with a new laxity in standards of belief and behavior.

A persecuted Church turned into a persecuting church. By the end of the century the church that had for so long endured persecution as a minority faith, became a persecutor.

Major Councils – Churches then needed to clarify and define what they believed. A long time was required to understand and explain person and nature of Christ. Under emperor Constantine the first major council of church was held in Nicea (modern Turkey) in 325. Second major Council held at Constantinople in AD 381.

Donatist Churches in 311 versus The Church at Rome. No sooner had the churches achieved toleration than a severe rupture occurred between North and and South Church centers that would continued actively for three hundred years.

Some of these doctrinal differences, involving teaching as to the things expected of a believer after his profession of faith in Christ, have continued to this day. The Donatists doctrines lost out in popularity after some three hundred years, but a few local churches still hold to them to this day. The church I’ve pastured for 38 years is one of those churches which still very much like the Donatist Churches.

Iran Is Seeking Lebanon stake as Syria Totters

May 24, 2012

By Heil MacFarquhar

TANNOURINE, Lebanon — The Islamic republic of Iran recently offered to build a dam in this scenic alpine village, high in the Christian heartland of Lebanon.

Farther south, in the dense suburbs of Beirut, Iranian largess helped to rebuild neighborhoods flattened six years ago by Israeli bombs — an achievement that was commemorated this month with a rollicking celebration.

“By the same means that we got weapons and other stuff, money came as well,” the Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah, exclaimed to roars of approval from the crowd. “All of this has been achieved through Iranian money!”

Iran’s eagerness to shower money on Lebanon when its own finances are being squeezed by sanctions is the latest indication of just how worried Tehran is at the prospect that Syria’s leader, Bashar al-Assad, could fall. Iran relies on Syria as its bridge to the Arab world, and as a crucial strategic partner in confronting Israel. But the Arab revolts have shaken Tehran’s calculations, with Mr. Assad unable to vanquish an uprising that is in its 15th month.

Iran’s ardent courtship of the Lebanese government indicates that Tehran is scrambling to find a replacement for its closest Arab ally, politicians, diplomats and analysts say. It is not only financing public projects, but also seeking to forge closer ties through cultural, military and economic agreements.

The challenge for Iran’s leaders is that many Lebanese — including the residents of Tannourine, the site of the proposed hydroelectric dam — squirm in that embrace. They see Iran’s gestures not as a show of good will, but as a stealth cultural and military colonization.

“Tannourine is not Tehran,” groused Charbel Komair, a city council member.

The Lebanese have largely accepted that Iran serves as Hezbollah’s main patron for everything from missiles to dairy cows. But branching out beyond the Shiites of Hezbollah is another matter.

“They are trying to reinforce their base in Lebanon to face any eventual collapse of the regime in Syria,” said Marwan Hamade, a Druse leader and Parliament member, noting that a collapse would sever the “umbilical cord” through which Iran supplied Hezbollah and gained largely unfettered access to Lebanon for decades.

“Hezbollah has developed into being a beachhead of Iranian influence not only in Lebanon, but on the Mediterranean — trying to spread Iranian culture, Iranian political domination and now an Iranian economic presence,” Mr. Hamade said. “But there is a kind of Lebanese rejection of too much Iranian involvement here.”

That has not stopped Iran from trying. Mohammad-Reza Rahimi, Iran’s first vice president, arrived in Beirut a couple of weeks ago with at least a dozen proposals for Iranian-financed projects tucked under his arm, one for virtually every ministry, Lebanese officials said. The size of the Iranian delegation — more than 100 members — shocked government officials. Lebanese newspapers gleefully reported embarrassing details of the wooing; in their haste to repeat their success in forging closer ties with Iraq, for example, the Iranians forgot to replace the word Baghdad with Beirut in one draft agreement.

Iran offered to build the infrastructure needed to carry electricity across Iraq and Syria into Lebanon. It offered to underwrite Persian-language courses at Lebanon’s public university. Other proposals touched on trade, development, hospitals, roads, schools and, of course, the Balaa Dam in Tannourine.

Yet virtually no substantial new agreements were signed. The Iranian ambassador, Ghazanfar Roknabadi, reacted like a spurned suitor, grumbling publicly that Lebanon needed to do more to carry out agreements. The embassy here rejected a request for an interview, but Iran’s state-run Press TV quoted Mr. Roknabadi as saying, “The Iranian nation offers its achievements and progress to the oppressed and Muslim nations of the region.”

Therein lies the rub. Syria, run by a nominally Shiite Muslim sect, fostered its alliance with Iran as a counterweight to Sunni Muslim powers like Saudi Arabia. The alliance was built more on confronting the West and its allies than on any sectarian sympathies.

In Lebanon, a nation of various religious sects, many interpret Iran’s reference to “Muslim” as solely “Shiite Muslim.” Hezbollah insists that that is not the case and that the money comes with no strings attached and is for the good for all Lebanese.

“The Iranians say, ‘If you want factories, I am ready, if you want some electricity, I am ready,’ and they do not ask for any price in return,” said Hassan Jishi, the general manager of Waad, the organization that rebuilt the southern suburbs. (The name means “promise” in Arabic, referring to Mr. Nasrallah’s promise to reconstruct the area.) It cost $400 million to build apartments and stores for about 20,000 people, Mr. Jishi said.

Half the money came from Iran, Mr. Nasrallah said in his speech, adding that he had telephoned the country’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, to ask for reconstruction aid even before the August 2006 cease-fire with Israel. Both Ayatollah Khamenei and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad responded generously, he said.

“We owe a special thanks to the leaders of the Islamic republic of Iran, to the government, to the people, because without Iranian funding, we could not even have begun to achieve what we did,” Mr. Nasrallah said.

In the southern suburbs, what was once a jumble of haphazard construction is now neat rows of handsome tangerine-and-rose-colored apartment blocks with elevators, generators and parking. But anarchic power lines still crisscross the streets like so many cobwebs, because the electricity supply remains hit-or-miss. Lebanon suffers from a chronic shortage of electricity, generating just 1,500 megawatts against a peak summer demand of 2,500 megawatts.

Iran’s project to finance the dam appeared to be aimed at addressing such problems — and winning hearts and minds by meeting a need the government has so far failed to address.

Here in Tannourine, the sound of rushing water ricochets off the high valley walls, riven with caves where the first Christian monks sought sanctuary from prosecution centuries ago. Restaurants built over the Joze River draw a weekend crowd from Beirut, 45 miles south, for long lunches of meze and shish kebab washed down with smooth, locally made arrack. Local springs also feed one of Lebanon’s most popular bottled-water brands, called Tannourine.

The idea of a dam proved popular among the 35,000 inhabitants because it would both generate electricity and provide for irrigation, said its mayor, Mounir Torbay.

The dam was included in Lebanon’s 2012 budget and the contract was awarded to a Lebanese company, the mayor said. Then it got embroiled in local politics.

A prominent Christian politician trying to one-up his rivals asked the Islamic republic for $40 million for the dam, and Iran agreed last December, provided an Iranian company built it. Most of the solidly Christian area’s population was horrified by the prospect that the Iranians would move in, said Mr. Torbay, most likely bringing their mosques, their wives and perhaps even their missiles. Many suspect that some company with links to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps will get the contract.

“We want the dam badly, but we don’t want an Iranian company to build it,” the mayor said. “They are from a different religion, a different social condition.”

There are still about 70 churches in Tannourine, with 22 dedicated to the Virgin Mary, and most Christians feel that their culture and tradition face enough of a threat already throughout the Middle East, residents said.

“One of the dreams of Iran is to gain a foothold over the mountains,” the mayor said. “It is important for them to oversee the Mediterranean. So Lebanon is a full part of their strategy.”

BEGINNING AND ENDING OF THE AGE (TIMES) OF THE GENTILES – PART 9

May 25, 2012

http://www.tribulationperiod.com/

Luke 21:24 – And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

The prophecy, concerning “the times of the Gentiles” in Luke 24:21, applies specifically to the city of Jerusalem, and it’s Temple. And, indeed, the city and temple were “trodden down of the Gentiles” until June of 1967. However, the prophecy in Romans 11:25, concerning the “fullness of the Gentiles” coming in, refers to the absolute end of the Gentile age, at which time the entire nation of Israel will be grafted back into God’s olive tree. This will not be accomplished until Jesus returns with the saints to end the tribulation period, and begins his millennial reign.

Romans 11:23-25 – And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again. [24] For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree? [25] For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

This is the time of Christ’s coming to end the battle of Armageddon, and to bring in his kingdom, which is promised to be the place of inheritance for the saints in Daniel 7:13,14,18.

Daniel 7:13,14,18 – I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. [14] And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. [18] But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

Jesus finished the answer to the first two questions of Matthew 24:3 in his discourse in Luke 21:8-24.

Matthew 24:3 – And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

In Luke 21:25,26 Jesus answers the third question, what signs will mark the time when the kingdom comes to end this world (age) and bring in your reign over all nations?

Luke 21:25,26 – And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; [26] Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

This answer is tied to the beginning of the last 1260 days of tribulation, which I believe is found in Revelation 6:12-15, and gives an overview of all that will happen during the last three and one-half before Jesus comes to end the tribulation period.

Revelation 6:12-17 – And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; [13] And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. [14] And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. [15] And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

Then, in Luke 21:27,28 Jesus comes with the saints to end the age and bring in his Kingdom. And he closes with advice to all believers.

Luke 21:27,28 – And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. [28] And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. Ephesians 4:30 – And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

ARCHIVE PROPHECY UPDATE NUMBER 66 ON MICAH 5

A Series from Prophecy Updates 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 69, and 69

WHAT IS THE NATIONALITY OF THE ANTICHRIST?

Part 5

May 3, 2003

Micah 5:1-4 – Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek. [2] But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. [3] Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel. [4] And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.

These verses, exposited in Parts 1 through 4, were written more than 700 years before the birth of Christ. And yet they present: Bethlehem as His birthplace, His rejection as ruler over Israel, His last Passover in the daughter of troops Jerusalem, His head beatings by the troops of Pontius Pilate, Herod, and the High Priest, His rejection as the judge of Israel, His Father’s siege against Israel because of their rejection of the Son (which has lasted some 2000 years), Christ’s temporary rejection of Israel, His Second Advent as Messiah after Israel’s travail of 1260 days in the Negev Wilderness, at which time His brethren will return with Him to the nation of Israel, and the first 1000 years of His eternal kingdom, which phases into the final heaven age when the present earth and heavens pass away.

Micah 5:5 – And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

Now, in verse 5, we find that “this man” will himself “be the peace” because He personally brings it in by Himself when he returns to be “great unto the ends of the earth” for 1000 years. “This man” who brings “the peace” of a thousand years is, of course, Jesus Christ. He is the primary contextual subject from verses 1 through 5. What happens to motivate His return to bring in the millennial reign is the movement of the Assyrian into the land of Israel. It is the final defeat and destruction of “the Assyrian” that will mark Christ’s Second Advent, and the beginning of His millennial reign.

When Micah wrote his prophecies the Assyrians had already driven into the northern Kingdom of Israel, and all that remained of Israel proper was its southern Kingdom of Judah. So what were the borders of the land of Assyria when Micah wrote the fifth chapter of his book? The borders of the Assyrian territory stretched northward from roughly where Ramallah is located in the West Bank to the present day southern border of Turkey, and eastward to the Mediterranean Sea to establish its western limits, then westward across the Euphrates River to the Tigris River north of modern Baghdad in Iraq. Technically, I suppose one might be able to say this future “Assyrian” might come out of southern Turkey, northern Iraq, or Lebanon, but since modern day Syria occupies some 85% of the area covered by the Assyrian empire at the time of Micah’s writings, I am persuaded the Assyrian antichrist will come out of Syria. The possible argument that Micah 5:5 was fulfilled during the old Assyrian invasion of Micah’s day, is thwarted by the context pattern of the four verses before it all still being unfulfilled at the time they were written, and then being linked contextually to verse 5 by “this man,” and “the peace.” Additionally, this argument is smashed by the verse that follows it.

Micah 5:6 – And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

From the time of Micah’s writings to the present day, Israel has never “wasted the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof.” I will exposit specifically on both these locations in Prophecy Update Number 67, Lord willing.

The “Assyrian” of Micah 5:5 is not a European, an American, a Russian, an Eskimo, an Aborigine, an Ethiopian, or a platypus. He is an Assyrian, who becomes chief prince of the land where the descendants of Meshech and Tubal were dwelling when Ezekiel wrote his prophecies. I will elaborate on this in future updates, Lord willing. The expression involving “seven shepherds and eight principal men” is most assuredly an oft used Hebrew idiom. It was the Hebrew manner of expressing “more than enough.” Seven is the Hebrew word for “complete,” implying “enough,” and when “eight” is added to it, the expression means “more than enough.” When the Assyrian comes into Israel, and treads within its borders north of Beersheba for 1260 days, then Jesus will return to restore peace for 1000 years on this planet. Christ’s Second Advent is accompanied by some 5/6 of the Assyrian’s armies being destroyed by the brightness of His coming. His destruction of the Assyrian and his false prophet will make whatever force Israel is able to muster up in the Negev for the battle of Armageddon “more than enough.”

When the Assyrian sets on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, as the willful King of the North preparing to launch his final attack on Israel at the battle of Armageddon, he will be beyond all help by men and Satan.

I Thessalonians 5:3,4 – For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. [4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

Ezekiel 38:14-16 – Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord God; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it? [15] And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: [16] And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

Zechariah 13:8,9 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. [9] And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.

Revelation 12:6 –And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Daniel 11:45 – And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

II Thessalonians 2:8 – And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

Revelation 19:19-21 – And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. [20] And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. [21] And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

Ezekiel 38:22 to 39:2 – And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. [23] Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord. [1] Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: [2] And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:

Micah 5:5,6 – And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men. [6] And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

Russia: Syria uprising could spread to Lebanon

AP foreign, Wednesday May 23 2012

MOSCOW (AP) — Russia’s foreign minister says that the conflict in Syria could spread to neighboring Lebanon.

Speaking in a televised news conference on Wednesday, Sergei Lavrov said that there is “a tangible threat” of the Syrian uprising spilling over to Lebanon which “could end very badly. He warned about “an artificial escalation” of tensions between two main branches of Islam, Shiites and Sunnis.

Russia has been Syria’s most powerful ally over the course of the uprising. Russia, along with China, has used its veto power to shield Damascus from U.N. sanctions.

The revolt in Syria began 15 months ago, and there are fears the unrest will lead to a regional conflagration, drawing in neighboring countries. The U.N. estimates the conflict has killed more than 9,000 people since March 2011.

Forces unable to destabilize Syria turn to Lebanon – ministry

MOSCOW: Forces which have failed to implement their plans to destabilize Syria have turned to Lebanon, which is trying to prevent foreign intervention in Syria, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

“Moscow is seriously concerned by growing internal tensions in Lebanon. It appears that the forces that have failed to realize their plans to destabilize Syria have turned to the neighboring Lebanon,” the ministry said on its website on Monday.

“They clearly dislike this country’s government course aimed at preventing foreign intervention in Syrian affairs and facilitating a swift peaceful settlement in Syria on the basis of Kofi Annan’s plan approved by the United Nations Security Council, the actions of military and security agencies opposing the attempts at arms smuggling and militant trafficking, ” the ministry said.

To attain their goals these forces are trying to stoke tensions among various Lebanese political and sectarian forces, the Ministry said.

“For our part, we are calling on Lebanese politicians to show restraint and high patriotic responsibility at this difficult moment for the country and the region. The Lebanese must not follow the lead of those who would like to sow new seeds of sectarian discord and confusion on their land. We hope that the Lebanese government and Lebanese enforcement agencies, acting strictly within the law, shall take whatever steps necessary to restore calm in the country and preserve civil peace and unity,” the statement said.

An incident at an army base in the Akkar District on May 20 killed the Sunni religious leader Sheikh Abdelwahed and his aide and injured a soldier, the foreign ministry said. The circumstances of this tragic incident are being investigated by the Lebanese authorities.

The incident prompted a strong reaction in the form of riots and road blocks in a number of Sunni-populated areas. In Western Beirut, skirmishes between supporters of the Al-Mustaqbal Movement and the At-Tatyyar Al-Arabi Party continued through the night. Two were reportedly killed and 18 injured.

President Obama’s NATO and G8 Summits are a 5 Layered Reelection Cake!

It is so full of Leaven it is headed for a huge worldwide yeast Explosion

It has a beautiful Outer Icing of Deceit that Covers the hot air Inside

Which Consists Of Speech Element Ingredients Without Any Detail

Today, Leaven Is MORE Likely To Be Referred To As Being Yeast

In the New Testament, “leaven” is sometimes used symbolically as a concealed element that spreads its corrupt influence through the whole loaf under the crust covering it. I believe this is the case with President Obama’s reelection wedding cake. Many are being attracted by his beautiful smooth vocal icing promises just as they were in 2008, but the leaven is the ingredient which will explode and expose even more the hypocrisy under the icing.

Luke 12:1-3 – In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. [2] For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. [3] Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

Nato and G8 summits: what did we learn on Afghanistan, aid and the euro?

Barack Obama was joined by world leaders in Camp David and Chicago for intensive talks. But did they make any progress?

Ewen MacAskill in Chicago

guardian.co.uk,

Monday 21 May 2012 15.12 EDT

World leaders will fly home from Chicago on Monday night after completing some of the most intensive negotiations of the year on issues ranging from eradicating hunger to resolution of the eurozone crisis and ending the Afghanistan war.

Seven of the leaders, from Germany, France, Britain, Italy, Japan, Canada and Russia, have been in discussion since joining Barack Obama at his presidential retreat at Camp David on Friday night. More than 40 others arrived for further talks at a convention centre in downtown Chicago on Sunday morning for a two-day Nato summit.

So how much was achieved? What resulted from all those walks in the woods between Obama and the G8 leaders at his Maryland retreat, and during the informal group discussions round the dinner table? And did the Nato summit produce enough positive gains to justify the disruption to the city, whose centre was largely closed down?

Tackling world hunger

In the final communique from Camp David, the leaders said: “The G8 reaffirms its commitment to the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people.”

In reality, the summit was largely a disappointment for the developing world.

Barack Obama, in a speech in Washington on Friday on the eve of the Camp David talks, announced $3bn in new money for what he billed as a “new alliance” to help lift millions out of hunger.

While aid agencies welcomed this, they cautioned about governments shifting the burden from their own aid budgets to the private sector.

The reason for this warning became apparent at the Camp David. Obama’s announcement of the $3bn was designed in part to disguise the fact that no new government cash is forthcoming.

At the 2009 G8 summit in L’Aquila in Italy, the world leaders committed themselves to spending $22bn over the next three years to lift 50 million people out of world hunger. Obama promised at Camp David to continue this effort, but offered no details of any further commitments.

Of the $22bn promised at L’Aquila, an accountability report published to coincide with the G8 showed only just over half of that has been disbursed so far, 58%.

Monique Mikhail, an Oxfam spokesperson, said: “The report highlights both the good and the bad in the efforts of the G8 to tackle food insecurity and hunger. While the report finds that most G8 countries will meet their funding commitments on food security, it also highlights that disbursement of these funds is painfully slow. A 99% pledged commitment rate sounds fantastic, but not when only 58% of the commitments have actually been disbursed six months from L’Aquila’s completion.”

In a statement, Oxfam criticised the G8 leaders for failing to continue the efforts to tackle world hunger.

Outcome: It is a long way from the heady days of the big spending commitments made at summits such as Gleneagles. The lack of spending commitments at Camp David reflects the present frugality of governments in America and Europe.

Eurozone crisis

The final Camp David communique said: “We welcome the ongoing discussion in Europe on how to generate growth, while maintaining a firm commitment to implement fiscal consolidation to be assessed on a structural basis.”

This was a victory for Obama and the new French president, François Hollande, who pushed German chancellor Angela Merkel to shift the balance from austerity measures to growth. There was also a commitment to help Greece remain in the eurozone.

But the communique was short on detail. Merkel would argue that she is committed to growth, though achieved through deficit-cutting rather than the kind of stimulus packages that Obama and Hollande wanted.

In a one-to-one meeting between Obama and Merkel, the president helped flesh out the details a bit, with Merkel pledging to support a stimulus package for Greece.

But the reality is that the US has little leverage in the eurozone crisis and the hard decisions will be taken at Euro meetings later this week and next.

Outcome: A shift in language in favour of a growth strategy but this is undermined by the lack of any details of a stimulus package.

Afghanistan

In the Nato communique, the heads of state and government claimed the withdrawal of international forces from Afghanistan was on track and “irreversible”, and would provide a new non-combat Nato mission in Afghanistan after 2014 “to train, advise and assist” the Afghan army.

The US has secured the $4.1bn it needed to fund this ten-year programme of assistance which will involve a Nato force of about 15,000-20,000.

Obama, after meeting Afghanistan president Hamid Karzai in Chicago on Sunday, insisted that within the next two years the war in Afghanistan as we know it would be over.

In spite of his bullish tone, reality bit. Pakistan is a key player in any final political settlement in Afghanistan but US hopes of a deal with its president, Asif Ali Zardari, failed to materialise.

Relations between Pakistan and the US may have worsened. Obama refused to meet Zardari, which the Pakistan government will see as a snub. Obama’s refusal is mainly because Zardari is demanding an apology and much higher fees for re-opening the supply lines between Pakistan and Afghanistan, which were closed in protest at drone strikes and the killing of two dozen Pakistani troops in November in a US air strike.

Obama is also struggling to prevent the international force in Afghanistan from rushing to the exits. Hollande is standing by his election pledge to remove all French combat troops by the end of the year, though he has softened this by saying France will remain engaged in Afghanistan in other, as yet unspecified ways.

Huge problems remain. How effective will the Afghan army be when it takes the lead, since the Afghan police force is so unreliable? Will Karzai stick by the constitution that prevents him standing for re-election in 2014? Even if he does, will he be replaced by a Northern Alliance warlord that could make the chance of resolving the conflict even more remote?

Outcome: Obama had hoped to be able to use the Nato summit to announce a political settlement between the Karzai government and the Taliban, but that fell apart when the Taliban left secret talks in March. The summit, in spite of the positive wording of the communique, only served to highlight the problems facing Nato as it begins its withdrawal.

Missile defence

There is an exhibit in the centre of the press room at the Chicago summit that is grandly billed as the European ballistic missile centre.

On Monday, Nato declared: “Today, we have declared an interim ballistic missile defence capability as an initial step to establish Nato’s missile defence system, which will protect all Nato European territories, populations and forces.”

A video at the exhibit shows an elaborate array of communications systems and weaponry designed to bring down hostile missiles.

In spite of the Nato declaration, only the first phase has been agreed, basically the establishment of a command structure. The lack of progress is a reflection of the present cash-strapped European and US economies.

Outcome: European missile defence dressed up as progress, but in reality a victim of austerity.

Obama’s re-election

It does no harm for Obama to be shown on television in the company of world leaders. Republican Mitt Romney’s campaign press releases in relation to the G8 and Nato have largely been ignored by the media.

But Obama had been hoping for a major announcement at Chicago, possibly a political settlement with the Taliban, something that would have allowed him to declare the war in Afghanistan over. That has not happened.

The G8 and Nato summits have not dominated television coverage in the US, other than the clashes between the police and protesters in Chicago.

Outcome: Impact on Obama’s election campaign? Minimal.

Leadership window dressing at G8 and NATO summits

DEBKAfile Special Report

On the return flight to Moscow, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov filled in the space left by his Prime Minister Dmitri Medvadev’s silence at Camp David Saturday, May 20 with a large dose of skepticism on Iran.

Contradicting President Barack Obama’s statement that diplomacy was preferable to military action, Ryabkov said that the G8 leaders’ readiness to tap into emergency oil stockpiles quickly this summer “is one of the many various signals coming from various sources that the military option (on Iran) is considered as realistic and possible.”

He added: “We are receiving signals, both through public and intelligence channels, that this option is now being reviewed in some capitals as more applicable in this situation,’ said the Russian official.

His words to reporters were in fact a Russian signal to Tehran not to trust American diplomacy and concessions because the US and its allies were at the same time preparing for war.

As for the NATO weekend summit in Chicago, the decisions taken under Barack Obama’s leadership appear even less feasible. NATO issued a strong statement of support for the Eurozone. However, none of the leaders present came with remedies for pulling the continent out of its existential economic crisis.

Sunday, May 20, a former Greek finance minister warned that kicking Greece out would “open the gates of hell for Europe,” while British economists warned the UK economy “would never recover” if the euro collapsed.

The decision to withdraw all alliance troops from Afghanistan by the year 2014 is technically unfeasible so long as Pakistan refuses to allow them to cross through its territory and depart from its Indian Ocean and Arab Sea ports.

The Future Islamization of Egypt by the Muslim Brotherhood!

Islamization Of Egypt By Muslim Brotherhood Is Occurring

Out of the Ashes of Umayyad will Rise Antichrist’s Caliphate.

It will be the last Empire to afflict Israel since Exodus Pharaoh

And the Prophesied Mahdi Antichrist Shall Be its Caliphate Caliph

This Caliphate Is A Stated Muslim Brotherhood Mission Since 1928.

May 22, 2012

http://www.tribulationperiod.com/

THE GOAL OF MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD IS TO SEE A CALIPHATE CREATED THAT SPREADS FROM SPAIN TO INDONESIA UNDER ISLAMIC SHAR’IA LAW.

The Muslim Brotherhood will join the Islamic Antichrist by attacking their own army from within when the Mahdi charges west across the northern Sinai to the Suez Canal, after he has driven Israel into the Negev Wilderness.

The “Arab Spring” has been an “Allah-Send” for the Muslim Brotherhood, in that it has freed the Brotherhood, which had been kept under the thumbs of Arab leaders across the Middle East. The thumbs have, are, and will, continue to be lifted off many Brotherhoods in Arab countries as a result of “Arab Spring.” The goal of the Muslim Brotherhood has always been to create an Islamic Caliphate with Shar’ia law.

The first 10 nations under the Antichrist are likely to be French Morocco, Algeria, Iran, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq, and Syria.

Excerpts from Wikipedia

The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in Ismailia, Egypt by Hassan al-Banna in March 1928 as an Islamist religious, political, and social movement. The group spread to other Muslim countries but has its largest, or one of its largest, organizations in Egypt, where for many years it has been the largest, best-organized, and most disciplined political opposition force, despite a succession of government crackdowns in 1948, 1954, 1965 after plots, or alleged plots, of assassination and overthrow were uncovered. Following the 2011 Revolution the group was legalized, and in April 2011 it launched a civic political party called the Freedom and Justice Party (Egypt) to contest elections.

Its founder, Hassan Al-Banna, was influenced by Islamic reformers Muhammad Abduh and Rashid Rida. In the group’s belief, the Quran and Sunnah constitute a perfect way of life and social and political organization that God has set out for man. Islamic governments must be based on this system and eventually unified in a Caliphate. The Muslim Brotherhood’s goal, as stated by Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna was to reclaim Islam’s manifest destiny, an empire, stretching from Spain to Indonesia.

AN EXPOSITION OF CHAPTER 11 OF THE BOOK OF DANIEL – BLOG 7

July 22, 2011

(ARCHIVE BLOG 6 WAS ISSUED JULY 10, 2011)

God’s prophecies He has fulfilled in the past are assurance to each new generation He will perform those yet to be fulfilled.

Isaiah 41:18-23 – I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. [19] I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together: [20] That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it. [21] Produce your cause, saith the Lord; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob. [22] Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come. [23] Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.

BLOG 6 ENDED WITH AN EXPOSITION OF DANIEL 11:42

Rebellion is preparing the way for the rise of an Islamic Antichrist

To the North of Israel in What was once called ‘Greater Syria’

It is likely to start a Middle East War twixt 2014 and 2016

I have long been an admirer of the articles written by Daniel Pipes. I have long believed the bulk of the major forces involved in the Daniel 11:40 counterattack against Israel, would be Syria, Turkey, and Lebanon. I believe Jordan will support these three AFTER the counterattack begins, which is one of the reasons Jordan is bypassed by Antichrist on his way to attack Egypt AFTER he drives Israel into the Negev Wilderness. Many other African and Middle East Islamic countries will very quickly announce their full support of his action when they see the success of his counterattack against an Israeli intrusion into Lebanon against Hizbullah.

THIS IS THE CONTINUATION OF THE ATTACK BY THE KING OF THE NORTH WITH THE MAJORITY OF HIS ATTACKING FORCE INITIALLY COMING FROM SYRIA, TURKEY, AND LEBANON. ONCE JORDAN SEES THE ANTICHRIST (KING OF THE NORTH) IS SUCCESSFUL IN PUSHING ISRAEL (KING OF THE SOUTH) TOWARD THE NEGEV, THE MAJORITY PALESTINIAN POPULATION WILL DEPOSE THEIR KING, AND SUPPORT THIS LEADER FROM GREATER SYRIA. IT IS ONE OF THE REASONS HE WILL BYPASS JORDAN, LEAVE ISRAEL CUT OFF IN THE NEGEV, AND HEAD STRAIGHT FOR CAIRO AND EGYPT TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE SUEZ CANAL. EGYPT WILL REMAIN NEUTRAL WHEN THE ANTICHRIST KING FROM GREATER SYRIA ATTACKS ISRAEL AND WILL BE SHOCKED WHEN HE HEADS ACROSS THE NORTHERN SINAI TO CONQUER SUEZ.

Daniel 11:40-42 – And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. [41] He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon. [42] He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

Daniel 11:43 – But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

The shortest, most compact, and comprehensive definition of the term “Greater Syria” I have encountered, follows in an advertisement by Google eBook for Daniel Pipes’ Book, which immediately follows:

The History of an Ambition (Google eBook)

Oxford University Press US, 1992 – History – 256 pages

“[While for many years scholars and journalists have focused on the more obvious manifestations of political life in the Middle East, one major theme has been consistently neglected. This is Pan-Syrian nationalism–the dream of creating a Greater Syria out of an area now governed by SYRIA, LEBANON, ISRAEL, JORDAN, AND TURKEY. Though not nearly as well known as Arab or Palestinian nationalism and hardly studied in depth, Pan-Syrianism has had a profound effect on Middle Eastern politics since the end of World War I. In Greater Syria, the noted Middle East scholar Daniel Pipes provides the first comprehensive account of this intriguing, important, and little understood ideology.]”

Hundreds of thousands protest in Syria, 11 killed

By REUTERS

Tanks deployed in Homs where five are killed overnight; six shot in Damascus suburb of Mleeha; police, militia beat Kurdish protesters in northeast.

AMMAN – Syrian forces shot dead at least 11 people and hundreds of thousands demanded an end to Syrian President Bashar Assad’s autocratic rule in widening protests on Friday, rights activists and witnesses said.

Five civilians were killed overnight in Homs, 165 km (100 miles) north of the capital Damascus, when tanks were deployed to halt protests in the besieged city, residents said.

A further six were later shot dead in protests in the Damascus suburb of Mleeha, in Homs, and in the Idlib area in the northwest, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and the National Organization for Human Rights said.

The four-month-old uprising is the biggest challenge to Assad’s authority since he succeeded his father 11 years ago and it is spreading.

Rights activists reported protests after Friday prayers in several places — the Medan district of Damascus, Latakia on the coast, Deraa in the south and Deir al-Zor in the east — as well as Homs, the latest focus of the armed crackdown on protesters.

“Tanks and armored vehicles have deployed in Homs thoroughfares, but in every street adjacent to them there are people in the streets,” a resident of Homs, who gave his name as Osama, said by telephone.

Once confined to outlying towns and rural regions, the uprising has now taken a firm hold in cities such as Homs and Hama, scene of a 1982 massacre by the military.

In the first such crackdown on Kurds since the uprising began, dozens of people were wounded when police and militia used batons and teargas against protesters in the mainly Kurdish northeastern city of Qamishli, witnesses said.

The protesters demanded political freedoms and an end to state-endorsed discrimination against Syria’s 1 million Kurds, as well as voicing solidarity with the protesters elsewhere.

Egyptian Philosopher Murad Wahba: “The Muslim Brotherhood Is Ideologically Required to Start Wars”

Following are excerpts from an interview with Egyptian philosopher Murad Wahba, which aired on Sada Al-Balad TV on April 20, 2012:

Murad Wahba: Democracy has four components.

Interviewer: Where does Egypt stand with regard to these four components?

Murad Wahba: We’re not even in the ballpark. This is not an exaggeration. There are four components: Secularism and relative thinking do not exist. They are considered heresy. As for a social covenant, the religious authorities interfere in everything. Enlightenment is forbidden – from the days of Sheik Abd Al-Razeq, through Taha Hussein, and all the way to Naguib Mahfouz.

Interviewer: And others too.

Murad Wahba: Enlightenment is thwarted all the time. They eradicate any sign of rational thinking. As for liberalism – there is no room for individualism. Everybody moves like a herd of sheep.

[…]

Today, there is a bloc of Gulf states against the Muslim Brotherhood. This is a new phenomenon.

Interviewer: What do you mean?

Murad Wahba: Some declarations have been issued on this.

index of phone lookup

Interviewer: I think that the Dubai police [chief] was very clear on that.

Murad Wahba: Right. The Gulf states, along with the Asian countries, may be able to “besiege” the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood. Under these circumstances, I believe that the Muslim Brotherhood ideology will face a crisis – how will they cooperate, when they are in power, with neighboring countries – the Gulf states – and with Asia, given its current relations with the Gulf states, in light of the present problems, in which the US and Europe are also involved? Today, the US and Europe are closer to the Gulf states and to Asia than they are to Egypt.

Interviewer: At present?

Murad Wahba: Yes. That’s how I see things. There is a crisis. The Muslim Brotherhood is, of course, exploiting the issue of Israel, and is trying to generate threats from Sinai, in an attempt to drag the Egyptian army into starting another war with Israel. But I think that the military leadership is aware of what is happening in the Sinai, and of the goals underlying these incidents. Therefore, in my view, there will be a crisis between the leadership of the Egyptian army and the Muslim Brotherhood.

[…]

For the Egyptian military leadership, the notion of war pertains to national security: Our army’s mission is to defend us against an attacking enemy, but it is not part of its mission to artificially initiate a war. For the Muslim Brotherhood, war is something one initiates, in an effort to convert the region and the entire world to Islam. Therefore, the Muslim Brotherhood is ideologically required to start wars.

Interviewer: But on the tactical level, they talk about honoring the Camp David Accords, and about honoring international agreements. Moreover, there is a strange and worrying flirtation going on between the Muslim Brotherhood and the American administration regarding the implications on Israel. When John McCain, for example, was in Egypt, he received their assurance that the [Israel-Egypt] treaty would be maintained, that the QIZ treaty would be maintained, and even that they have no problem with the gas exportation [to Israel] – unless the courts decide otherwise, and it’s a different story.

Murad Wahba: But let me tell you something. I always pay attention to the expressions they use when they talk about their commitment to the international agreements. They always add the qualifier: “But it’s subject to change and to discussion.” That is their tactic. I’ve noticed that they always conclude with a “but” – “we honor the international agreements, but the people will have its say.” “If circumstances change, it may become necessary to reexamine [the treaty].” It is these expressions that will enable them to send the Egyptian army to initiate war against Israel in the future.

[…]

If the army returns to the military bases, and the Muslim Brotherhood takes over the state institutions, it will mean the Islamization of the country and of society. When that happens, the army, which is a state institution, will undergo Islamization willy-nilly. Under such circumstance, it will not be able to remain out of it.

[…]

If the Muslim Brotherhood takes over the presidency, it will herald the beginning of a comprehensive process of Islamization, from top to bottom.
