EXPOSITION OF ISAIAH 53 – VERSE 6

Isaiah’s Report is that God has extended his right arm to men and women in the person of His only begotten Son to save them

from their condemnation for sin.

ISAIAH 53:1 – Who hath believed OUR report

? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? (It is God’s Report, but ‘OUR’ is used by Isaiah to include himself and probably to include all those who are sent by God through the ages to be carriers of it as instruments of God.)

THE ARM OF THE LORD IS REVEALED AS GOD’S SEED TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE THE REPORT OF GOD SENT BY HIS PROPHET ISAIAH.

ISAIAH 53:6 – All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Luke 15:3-7 – And he spake this parable unto them, saying, [4] What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? [5] And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. [6] And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. [7] I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

I realize that this parable and the two which immediately follow it are about things that are lost.

But I sometimes look at this parable and consider how it could be used to consider how we pass from a state of being “Safe” to being “Lost” to a condition of being “Saved.” Just supposed the 100 sheep represented children who had never reached the mentality of being able to repent, known as the “age of accountability.” In that case we would consider them “Safe” from Hell by the grace of God.

Suppose the one who strayed away from the fold had reached the age the Holy Spirit deemed him accountable because he became mentally capable of repenting. Christ came to seek and to save that which was lost.

He finds the sheep and it comes to him in joy to be returned to the fold. Perhaps the 99 had not reached the age of accountability mentally, and needed no repentance. The three parables are about “lost things” and the joy experienced when they are found. I only give this explanation as a possible way to explain safe, lost, and saved as a parallel to young people.

I confess that I know very little about sheep other than what I have read. Many who have raised them tell me they are dumb-dumb and must have a shepherd in the Middle East to keep them together and protect them from wild animals and harsh elements of nature. Jesus uses a sheepfold to portray his ministry as chief shepherd of men and women who desperately need him to keep them together as a local flock for guidance and protection. A pastor, as an under-shepherd called of God, is called to preach the Word to a local church to keep them growing in love with God and with one another.

John 10:1-7 – Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. [2] But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. [3] To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. [4] And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. [5] And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

[6] This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them. [7] Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say

unto you, I am the door of

the sheep.

Jesus explains the parable to teach them he is the only door, the true Messiah, the one through whom

one must pass to have access

to God.

John 10:8 – All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

Historically, there had already been many false messiahs, but they had been rejected by their words and deeds.

John 10:9 – I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

Members of a local visible church come together as a group of sheep in a cold winter sheepfold and are fed with God’s warm Word by the under-shepherd and other elders in the church, but when weather permits they do go out to find pasture in fellowship in word with those who follow the chief shepherd. All the sheep are always waiting for the chief shepherd to come to take them to their spring, summer, and fall sheep grazing zone on the domain of the chief shepherd. For us this is the sequence of the great abundant spiritual life. Trusting our chief shepherd Jesus, and following him to ever greener pastures by the understanding of his Word.

John 10:10 – The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Daniel 7:13,14 – I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. [14] And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

I Peter 5:1-5 – The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: [2] Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; [3] Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. [4] And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. [5] Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder.

Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

The permanent sheepfold of all believers is in heaven with great

inheritance there for those who are faithful to follow him according to his Word.

Philippians 3:20,21 – For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: [21] Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Ephesians 2:4-7 – But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, [5] Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) [6] And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: [7] That in t he ages to come

he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

Prophecy Update Number 50 closed with the antichrist located in Cairo, Egypt, which has been his capital for more than three years. He will supposedly have fulfilled the desire of what most nations say they want, that is, he will have brought stability to the Middle East. However, between the third and fourth year of his rule, something will cause him to quickly head for Jerusalem.

We closed Update 50 by saying, “Lord willing, In Prophecy Update Number 51, we will discuss what causes him to head for Jerusalem.”

Daniel 11:44,45 – But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many. [45] And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

Please bear in mind that Daniel does not bring him out of the Egypt he has conquered until verse 44, and that he heads back for the glorious holy mountain, which is the middle hill of the three hills upon which the eastern part of the city of Jerusalem rests. It is better known as the Mount of Moriah, where the first three temples sat, and is located between two seas, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Dead Sea. Before the mighty former Soviet Union of Joseph Stalin arose, some identified this troubling news out of the north as being about Attila the Hun, after him it was about the German Kaiser of WW1, then about Hitler of WW2, and so forth and so on. Before the great communist revolution of Mao brought forth the present huge sleeping giant of Red China, some identified the troubling news out of the east as being about Genghis Khan, the great Mongol conqueror from the east. But modern day expositors generally now tend to make it news concerning Russia in the north and China in the east. I do not believe it is either. When Daniel wrote his book, it was written to the people of his day. So it is important to consider what they knew to be immediately to the north and to the east of Egypt. But before we discuss what was, and still is, immediately north of Egypt, and what was, and still is, immediately east of Egypt, let me advise you why I do not believe it involves Russia or China. Get out a world map and measure how far it is from Cairo to the borde

rs of China and Russia. The population of Russia today is more than 150 million, and the population of China is more than 1 billion, 300 million. Do you really think he is going to take them on? And are they not supposed to join forces with him at the final battle of Armageddon? If he were, it would be rank insanity to return to Jerusalem to take them on! And, besides all that, the land we know as China and Russia, for all practical purposes, was perhaps mentioned only in fables in Daniel’s day. Do you really think he will “go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly make away many” from two distant, vast, countries with a combined population of almost one and one-half billion?

So what is immediately north of Egypt? What touches its northern border? The Mediterranean Sea!

And what land is immediately east of Egypt? What touches its eastern border? The Negev! And what could possibly be in the Mediterranean Sea that would trouble him? The U.S. Fleet! And what could possibly be in the Negev that would trouble him

? Between 1.7 and 1.9 million Israelis! The U.S. Navy & Marine Corps publish periodical “TRANSITIONS” of “All the Ships at Sea.” You will find it amazing how many vessels we routinely have on scheduled patrols in the Mediterranean Sea.

We keep a carrier constantly on station patrolling that section of the Mediterranean immediately south of Turkey and north of Egypt.

The carriers USS Enterprise and the USS Theodore Roosevelt have often relieved each other on this permanent patrol station, along with other carriers. There is also a report issued periodically on marine units deployed on the many ships that patrol the seas of the Middle East from the Mediterranean through the Red Sea into the Indian Ocean and up into the Persian Gulf. It is simply called “All the Marines Deployed.” The U.S. Marines and IDF have been conducting joint operations in the Negev off and on for some 25 years.

So the antichrist has had Israel bottled up in the Negev for more than three years at this future point in time. I believe the news he hears is simply this: the U.S. Marines and IDF are planning to close his rear flank back to the country from which he originally came, Syria. He will have left a strip heavily fortified across Gaza and the northern Sinai, but he will begin to have reservations about the ability of his troops to hold it. He will then head back for Jerusalem to finally do what he wishes he had previously done, that is, to end the Jewish problem.

He will “go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.” He will super fortify the northeast Sinai and Gaza Strip, and head northeast to Jerusalem to prepare for the destruction of Israel in the Negev. In Prophecy Update Number 52, Lord willing, I will define his palace, the tabernacles, and the nations involved.

US and Israel Increase Military Cooperation

The IDF and the US military are increasing their military cooperation, according to a report published in the Wall Street Journal this past weekend.

The newspaper reported that this month, about 200 US Marines joined a battalion of Israeli soldiers for an all-night march through the Negev desert, following three weeks of joint drills. Part of the exercise included a mock attack on a mock Arab village.

This included IDF soldiers from another unit posing as Arab guerrill

as and explosions triggered by pyrotechnics engineers to simulate a battle between IDF forces and Arabs.

The Hizbullah backed Al Manar TV also reported on the drill, claiming that it was an exercise meant to simulate a battle between Israeli forces and Hizbullah forces, and that the mock terrain resembled Lebanon.

According to US officials, the joint exercise was the biggest US-Israeli joint infantry exercise ever. In a similar exercise last year, only around 20 US Marines participated. Officials added that an even bigger joint exercise will take place in the fall, this time involving tanks and armored vehicles.

The Wall Street Journal added that the intensified partnership between the two countries’ military forces is part of the Obama administration’s policy of boosting military support for American allies in the Mideast amid heightened tensions with Iran and its allies such as Hizbullah and Hamas. Obama also believes that such partnerships may also help induce Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to make concessions in peace talks.

Last October, more than 2,000 officers and soldiers from the Israeli and American armies participated in a joint military exercise entitled titled “Juniper Cobra,” which focused on defensive measures against ground-to-ground missiles. Air, land, and sea forces from both the Israeli and United States militaries took part in the exercise.

The US and Israel also cooperate on the sale of arms and aircraft. On Sunday,

Defense Minister Ehud Barak announced the formal approval for purchasing the American F-35 Stealth fighter plane, saying that the having the F-35 plane in Israel “will give the Air Force the best capability in the short and long range and allow Israel to maintain aerial superiority.”

Also this year, Obama asked Congress to allocate $205 million to accelerate development of the Iron Dome anti-rocket system.

At the same, the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee said last week that he is holding up previously authorized military aid to Lebanon, out of concerns that the $100 million in military aid for the Lebanese Armed Forces will be used by Hizbullah terrorist forces. All in all, said the Wall Street Journal, US military aid to Israel reached a high of $2.78 billion in 2010, up from $2.55 billion in 2009, and is slated to jump to $3 billion in 2011.

Officials in Washington explained that the increased cooperation between the two countries is part warning to Iran over its nuclear program, and part assurance to Israel that the US is fully committed to its security.

At the same time, the US is also stepping up military support to countries it has ties with in the region. One example of this is the recent arms package to Saudi Arabia, which will include advanced F-15 fighter jets but not long-range weapons systems and other arms. The terms of the Saudi deal changed after Israeli officials repeatedly conveyed their concerns that the US risks undermining Israel’s military advantage by equipping regional rivals with top-flight technologies. The report in the Wall Street Journal also added that the Obama administration said it intended to provide new Patriot missile batteries to Kuwait.

Visits by the Israeli and American military brass have jumped dramatically, especially this past year. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen has made four visits to Israel since 2007, two of them this year alone. Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak has visited Washington four times so far this year, which is unmatched by any recent

Israeli defense minister.

As one Israeli senior army officer was quoted as saying: “There’s been a constant stream of American officers coming through. I haven’t seen anything like it in my 20 years in the army.”

Isaiah 53:5 – But he was wounded for OUR transgressions, he was bruised for OUR iniquities: the chastisement of OUR peace was upon him; and with HIS stripes we are healed.

The use of the word “OUR” three times in this verse is the direct transference to the word “HIS,” in that all OUR transgressions and iniquities, past, present, and future, initiated by our inherited carnal natures, were transferred to Christ the instant we trusted Him to save us from God’s condemnation to Hell. Our peace was eternally healed with God by Jesus’ taking the stripes of OUR chastisement. OUR souls are healed by HIS chastisement stripes in the past, present, and future. We were, are, and always shall be healed by his stripes.

Hebrews 13:8 – Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Galatians 2:20,21 – I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh

I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

[21] I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Hebrews 13:9 – Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines.

For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

Our Soul is healed by HIS power, sealed by HIS Spirit and made dead to the condemnation under which it was born by HIS promise.

In his Friday sermon today, August 13, 2010, Iranian Guardian Council secretary and Tehran interim prayer leader Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati warned Iranian officials against falling for U.S. advances and efforts to hold talks, saying that Washington’s green lights are always “chicanery and a scam.” He added that Iranians know that wherever the U.S. insists on doing something it is harmful for them, and wherever it wants something not to be done, it is in their interest, and that the Iranian people know that the U.S. is their enemy.

The previous day, at a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Tehran Umit Yardim, Jannati said that the collapse of the Zionist regime and its main ally, the U.S., is imminent, and that Muslim countries need “to unite, set aside their differences, use their vast potential, and not fear threats made by the U.S. and its allies.”

Friday Sermon, August 13, 2010

“When [The Americans] Flash a Green Light, It Is [Always] Chicanery and a Scam”

In his Friday sermon today, Ayatollah Jannati told the crowd of worshipers: “You have forgotten what they [the Americans] have done, you think they have changed… they are the same…”

Jannati reminded those who seek negotiations with the U.S. that “when they flash a green light, it is [always] chicanery and a scam.”
Referring to efforts by the U.S. to persuade the U.N. Security Council to approve new anti-Iran sanctions and impose unilateral sanctions on the country, Jannati said, “They think the Iranian people will give in under sanctions and adversities… but the West’s problem is that they do not know the Iranian nation and do not know who they are dealing with.”[1]

He added, “The nation and the officials should be vigilant in a bid to make the sanctions ineffective.”[2]

The Iranian People Know That the U.S. is Their Enemy

Emphasizing the importance of solidarity among Iranians “from all walks of life,” as a significant factor to parry Western pressure,[3] he added that the Iranian nation, through its vigilance, has stood against the hostile conspiracies of the U.S., and that whenever the Iranian nation has sensed that Americans insist on a particular plan, it has vigilantly identified the reasons behind this insistence, because the Iranian people know that the U.S. is the enemy of the Iranian nation.[4] Wherever the U.S. insists on doing something, it is harmful for Iran, and wherever it wants something not to be done, it is in the American interest.[5]

There is irrefutable and documented evidence proving that the U.S. has betrayed the rights of the Iranian nation, he added.[6]

Meeting With Turkish Ambassador, August 12, 2010

Muslim Countries Must “Set Aside Their Differences, Use Their Vast Potential”

The previous day, at a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Tehran Umit Yardim, Jannati said that Israel’s recent mistakes in attacking Lebanon showed that the collapse of the Zionist regime and its main ally, the U.S., is imminent.

He added that Israel and its main supporter, the U.S., are speeding toward their decline, while Islamic countries such as Iran and Turkey are rising. He urged Muslim countries “to unite, set aside their differences, use their vast potential and not fear threats made by the U.S. and its allies.

“After suffering successive defeats over the past years from Lebanon’s Hizbullah and Hamas, the Zionist regime [Israel] is seeking to take revenge on the resistance in Lebanon and Palestine,” Jannati said.

Referring to the recent border clashes between Israeli and Lebanese soldiers, Jannati called the incidents a move on Israel’s part to assess their readiness for a confrontation.

“Despite such efforts, Hizbullah, the Lebanese government and people are united [when it comes to] resisting any assault by Israel,” he said.

Turkish Ambassador: Iran-Turkey Cooperation Is Essential

Yardim, for his part, said that Turkey considers Iran a key player in the region and the world, and is interested in expanding ties in all sectors.

“Cooperation between Iran and Turkey is essential to establishing peace, stability, welfare and security in the region and throughout the world,” the Turkish envoy said.[7]

Muhammad Al-Arifi: There is no doubt that a person whom Allah enables to sacrifice his soul, and to fight for the sake of Allah, has been graced with a great honor.

The Prophet Muhammad said that the dust of battle for the sake of Allah and the smoke of Hell shall never meet in a man’s nose.

Devotion to Jihad for the sake of Allah, and the desire to shed blood, to smash skulls and to sever limbs for the sake of Allah and in defense of His religion, is, undoubtedly, an honor for the believer.

Allah said that if a man fights the infidels, the infidels will be unable to prepare to fight [the Muslims]. By Allah, the infidel countries today – the US and its allies – dare to fight the Muslims, to rape their women and turn them into widows, and to inflict their corruption on Islam and the Muslims on a daily basis only because they see that the Muslims do not even consider fighting the infidels and conquering their countries.

The Koranic verses that deal with fighting the infidels and conquering their countries say that they should convert to Islam, pay the jizya poll tax, or be killed. If the Muslims had implemented this, we would not have reached the humiliation in which we find ourselves today.

Hamas, 10 other groups reject all forms of compromise with Israel

Joint statement comes ahead of a possible round of direct peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

Eleven militant Palestinian groups based in Syria warned on Sunday against a “concession and compromise” policy ahead of a possible round of direct talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

The message from the groups, which include Gaza rulers Hamas as well as

the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine factions, appeared directed at Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Abbas is under pressure to enter direct negotiations with Israel, after months of U.S.-brokered proximity talks between the two sides.

Damascus-based Hamas politburo chief Khaled Meshal said Sunday that the factions’ representatives issued the statement after discussions held at his house in the Syrian capital and that they rejected all forms of compromise with Israel.

The U.S. and the “Zionists,” the statement said, were “aiming to wipe out the national rights of the Palestinians and to cover up the practices of the occupation, settlement expansion and Judaizing the land.”

Abbas has said he will not agree to direct talks with Israel without a complete halt to settlement building, agreement on final borders and a timetable for a deal.
