EXPOSITION OF ISAIAH 53 – VERSE 5

Isaiah’s Report is that God has extended his right arm to men and women in the person of His only begotten Son to save them from their condemnation for sin.
ISAIAH 53:1 – Who hath believed OUR report
? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? (It is God’s Report, but ‘OUR’ is used by Isaiah to include himself and probably to include all those who are sent by God through the ages to be carriers of it as instruments of God.)
THE ARM OF THE LORD IS REVEALED AS GOD’S SEED TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE THE REPORT OF GOD SENT BY HIS PROPHET ISAIAH.
Isaiah 53:5 – But he was wounded for OUR transgressions, he was bruised for OUR iniquities: the chastisement of OUR peace was upon him; and with HIS stripes we are healed.
The use of the word “OUR” three times in this verse is the direct transference to the word “HIS,” in that all OUR transgressions and iniquities, past, present, and future, initiated by our inherited carnal natures, were transferred to Christ the instant we trusted Him to save us from God’s condemnation to Hell. Our peace was eternally healed with God by Jesus’ taking the stripes of OUR chastisement. OUR souls are healed by HIS chastisement stripes in the past, present, and future. We were, are, and always shall be healed by his stripes.
Hebrews 13:8 – Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Galatians 2:20,21 – I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh
I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
[21] I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Hebrews 13:9 – Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines.
For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
I Peter 2:24,25 – Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. [25] For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
At the instant of OUR calling on HIS name in faith to save us, HIS power eternally removes us from under the condemnation of God to Hell for all OUR iniquities and transgressions. Our Soul is healed by HIS power, sealed by HIS Spirit and made dead to the condemnation under which it was born by HIS promise.
John 5:24 – Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Your soul HEARD the Gospel of salvation, THEN it BELIEVED and CALLED on HIS name to SAVE it, THEN HE SEALED your SOUL with that holy Spirit of promise UNTIL the DAY OF REDEMPTION WHEN your old carnal nature will be gloriously changed and reunited at the first
Ephesians 1:12-14 – That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. [13] In whom YE ALSO TRUSTED, AFTER that ye HEARD the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also AFTER that ye BELIEVED, ye WERE SEALED with that HOLY SPIRIT of PROMISE.
[14] Which is the earnest of our inheritance UNTIL the REDEMPTION of the purchased possession, unto the pra
ise of his glory.
Ephesians 4:30-32 – And grieve not the HOLY SPIRIT of God, whereby YE ARE SEALED UNTO THE DAY OF REDEMPTION. [31] Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: [32] And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
II Corinthians. 1:20-22 – For ALL THE PROMISES of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. [21] Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; [22] WHO HATH ALSO SEALED US, AND GIVEN US THE EARNEST OF THE SPIRIT IN OUR HEARTS.
ISAIAH 53:5C – THE CHASTISEMENT OF OUR PEACE WAS UPON HIM;
Romans 4:25 to 5:2 – Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. [1] Therefore BEING justified BY faith, WE HAVE PEACE THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST: [2] By whom also we have access by faith INTO this grace wherein we st and,
and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Philippians 4:9 –Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: AND THE GOD OF PEACE SHALL BE WITH YOU.
Hebrews 2:10,11 – For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation PERFECT THROUGH SUFFERINGS. [11] For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
Jesus lived a perfect sinless life as a man so that GOD could be both just and the justifier of all who would come to him through the man who was both God and man.
Romans 3:25,26 – Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of SINS THAT ARE PAST, through the FORBEARANCE of God; [26] To declare, I say, at THIS time HIS righteousness: that he might BE JUST, AND THE JUSTIFIER of him which believeth in Jesus.
