The vast majority of the “man in the street” world populations are dreading the outbreak of a great Middle East war which eventually ends with a final battle at the place called Armageddon.

I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MIDDLE EAST WAR BEGINNING BECAUSE IT WILL LET ME KNOW THE 2ND ADVENT OF JESUS CHRIST WILL EVENTUALLY BE OCCURRING AT THE BATTLE OF ARMAGEDDON.

The saved of all the ages will be experiencing judgment in heaven at the Judgment Seat of Christ while the battle of Armageddon rages on the earth during the pouring out of God’s wrath in seven vials on the earth. They will all have been taken there on the sounding of the seventh and last trumpet in Revelation 11:15 & 18, and will return with him to end the final battle of Armageddon in glorified bodies.

The mystery that Paul “shewed” and John “finished” will have occurred.

I Corinthians 15:51,52 – Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, [52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

To attack or not to attack Iran

Anyone who thought that Muslim countries would evince an absolute rejection of the military option should look at the results in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Indonesia of a recent Pew poll on the Islamic Republic

To attack or not to attack Iran? That is the question – or rather, one of the questions – asked as part of a “global attitudes survey” conducted by the Pew Research Institute in Washington. And the results? Surprising, especially with respect to attitudes toward Iran and its nuclear program.

The survey canvassed 22 countries, was conducted in the mother tongue of the respondents, and included relatively large sample groups. Eight out of 10 Germans, seven out of 10 Frenchmen and six out of 10 Britons hold negative views about Iran.

Even in countries with a predominantly Muslim majority, 66 percent in Egypt, 63% in Jordan and 60% in Lebanon hold a negative opinion of Iran.

It is interesting that in Turkey, whose leadership seems to be moving closer to the Islamic Republic, 58% hold a negative opinion about the Shi’ite state. This may be explained by the fact that most Turks are Sunni.

Indeed, the results from Lebanon demonstrate how severe the Sunni- Shi’ite rift actually is – 80% of Sunnis hold a negative position with respect to Iran, while 95% of Shi’ites support it.

A clear majority also oppose nuclear weapons in Iran; 98% of respondents in Germany, 96% in Japan, 95% in France, 94% in the US and 90% in Britain do not want to see nuclear weapons in Iran.

Although 66% in Egypt, 64% in Lebanon and 63% in Turkey do not want to see nuclear weapons in Iran, only some of them see this as a serious threat.

SURVEYS ARE problematic.

Beyond the ability of these tools to reflect public opinion, it can be argued that they reflect “only” public opinion, some in non-democratic rule.

But even in non-democratic regimes, perhaps especially in them, a survey might be the only way to know what people think.

Why is it important to know where world opinion is tending regarding Iran? Because answers have considerable impact on the policy response that may be adopted vis-à-vis the nuclear-aspiring state. More importantly, the survey shows that of those who oppose Iran’s nuclear program, more respondents are willing to consider military action to prevent it from obtaining nuclear weapons over those who prefer to avoid confrontation.

Anyone who thought that Muslim countries would evince an absolute rejection of this option should look at the results in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Indonesia, where 55%, 53%, 44% and 39%, respectively, say Iran should be denied nuclear capability even at the cost of military confrontation.

It seems that world opinion supports more than ever an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Indeed 66% of Americans, 59% of French and half of the Spanish, German, British, Brazilian and Indian respondents prefer to keep Iran from nuclear weapons even at the cost of conflict.

However, there are still opponents of the move, even if their number is lower: 41% in France, 39% in Germany, 37% in the UK, 34% in Spain and 24% in the US can be very “vocal” and have a greater impact.

In addition, one can argue that the questions were phrased with the notion that military action will prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons built into them. What if military action won’t be successful? It is unclear whether the survey reflects world public opinion and what impact, if any, it has on decision makers. It seems that half the population understands that the military option carries a fair price, but that the price of a nuclear Iran is higher, and perhaps justifies use of that option.

For all its limitations, the survey provides a glimpse into attitudes on the subject, and it might help those considering all options against Iran to better understand where the wind is blowing.

I covered Deuteronomy 32:20-22 in the previous Update. Deuteronomy 32:22-25 deals with the terrible suffering Israel has experienced since Messiah made their temple

Messiah advised them of the horror that was going to come upon them, but he promised he would come again to them, not as a Lamb in a manger, who was sacrificed so that they might put their faith in his flesh and blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of their sins, but as the Lion of Judah.

He will come following a time of great trouble like the world has never seen, which I believe is likely to begin before 2015. The timing is OPINION, but that it will eventually happen is certain.

The massive underwater gas fields discovered in the Mediterranean off the west and northwest coast of Israel will be a major factor in the future war between Islam and Israel. It will be used as justification for Hizbullah to unleash thousands of rockets southward into Israel, which will draw an immediate northward push into southern Lebanon by Israel, and the final war of the Age of the Gentiles will begin. I do not think the war will begin this year, but I do believe it will occur prior to 2015, and the odds of it occurring will increase with each passing year.

The age of so-called civilized warfare really began in the era of the Napoleonic Wars of 1803 to 1815.

And, with the passage of time, it has become increasingly important for the two countries involved in a conflict to convince the rest of the world the other is the culprit who started the conflict. Every time Hitler, in his early conquests, marched his troops into countries to take them over in bloodless battles, he always had an excuse to justify his attacks.

Finally, when he came to his planned conquest of the Poles, he could not really find what even remotely seemed like a justifiable reason. So he manufactured one. He had his own SS troops dress up in Polish uniforms and attack a German border outpost. Then the SS put dead Polish bodies in the immediate vicinity of the outpost and had photographers and reporters in to verify their story. Using this farce as justification for his actions, he attacked Poland in September of 1939, and World War II began.

I do not believe what I am now observing in that area will lead to an immediate war, but I suspect it may well do so in the not too distant future.

And, if I am correct in my assumptions, it could give the Syrians justification for attacking Israel in the eyes of most of the international world.

Former U.S. President Bush demanded that Syria cut it’s backing for the Hizbollah terrorists that operate along the southern border of Lebanon, and that it expel the other Palestinian terrorist groups it currently has operating out of Syria. Damascus is now hosting 10 Palestinian terrorist groups, which include the extremist groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad. In response to the demands of President Bush, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said: “Syria supports the Lebanese national resistance, including Hizbollah, in resisting Israeli occupation and liberating land.”

Concerning the demand that the other terrorist groups in Syria be removed, Assad said: “Their work is limited to political and media activities, and their offices in Damascus provide political representation to the 400,000 Palestinians who look to attain their rights and return to their land.” Israel has repeatedly warned Syria that if Hizbollah continued its border attacks on Israeli civilians and troops on its northern border, they would start hitting targets in Syria in retaliation. Bashar has responded by saying that Syria would defend itself against any Israeli action.

He said: “If the Israeli government involves itself in waging aggression on the territory of Syria, then Syria will defend itself.”

Israel’s policy against recent the Hizbollah refortification has shown remarkable restraint, probably because of not wanting to open a second front of conflict to the one they now have going in the Gaza Strip.

Israel has held back from violent retaliation. So now Bashar al-Assad has joined with Iran to provide heavier rockets for the Hizbollah arsenal of terror. Israeli officials have watched Hizbollah deploy thousands of new missiles and rockets that are aimed at Israeli civilian population centers. on externally.

During the time that Alexander’s great empire had been divided into four sections, the Syrian section (Seleucid) held Israel some of the time, and the Egyptian section (Ptolemy) held it when they took it from the Syrians. Israel was at times a part of the Egyptian section, at times a part of the Syrian section, and at times a part of both. Daniel lists a very long series of battles between the king of the north (Syria) and the king of the South (Egypt). Most of Daniel’s prophecies about these two kingdoms were fulfilled by their many kings from Daniel 11:4 through 35, but there remains one war yet to be fulfilled, and I believe it is the aforementioned Jihad that begins in Daniel 11:40. Since Israel was once part of the section occupied by Ptolemy, I am persuaded that Israel is the king of the south and Syria is the king of the north in Daniel 11:40-45.

I suspect that after Israel has lulled itself into a false sense of peace and safety by it’s military might, it will have gained even more confidence in its great ability to take care of any Islamic intrusion. It may well be that Syria will get Hizbollah to kick up a storm of activity along the northern border by launching a massive missile and rocket attack across the border into the populations of northern Israel. Syria will do this knowing that Israel will cross the border into Lebanon and hit Syrian targets from the air.

But this time Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Iran will be waiting for it, and six other Islamic nations will be poised to supply logistical support. The Islamic nations can cry out while they head south: “We were attacked first, we are justified in this response to the Israeli invasion of our sovereign territory.” This will cause a hesit ation by the western world

at first and, by the time it wakes up, Jerusalem will have fallen, and Israel will be fleeing into the Negev.

Landau: Israel would defend off-shore gas find with force

Minister of National Infrastructures Uzi Landau says Israel is willing to use force to protect off-shore natural gas finds after the speaker of Lebanon’s parliament said the fields extended into his nation’s waters.

“We will not hesitate to use our force and strength to protect not only the rule of law but the international maritime law,” Landau, 66, said in an interview on Wednesday at his Jerusalem office when asked about Lebanese claims.

“Whatever we find, they will have something to say. That’s because they’re not challenging our findings and so-called occupation of the sea.

“Our very existence here is a matter of occupation for them. These areas are within the economic waters of Israel.”

Israel, which is seeking to wean itself off oil and coal imports from as far away as Mexico and Norway, has said the Leviathan and Tamar fields may allow it

to start exporting gas. The discoveries also have prompted talks with Cyprus to seek clarification on maritime boundaries. Israel and Lebanon are technically at war and have no diplomatic relations.

Lebanon’s parliament Speaker Nabih Berri said that Israel is “ignoring the fact that according to the maps the deposit extends into Lebanese waters,” Agence France- Presse reported on June 9.

Noble Energy and Israeli companies, controlled by billionaire Isaac Tshuva, say the finds in the past 18 months may hold 24 trillion cubic feet of gas (680 billion cubic meters), more than twice Britain’s gas reserves. Leviathan lies about 130 km.

A halfway point is used when the distance between countries is less than 400 nautical miles. Haifa is about 148 nautical miles from Cyprus, which is located north of Leviathan.

Lebanon’s claim may be complex because its border with Israel is indented, making it harder to establish where Israel’s sea boundary ends and Lebanese waters begin, said Robbie Sable, a professor of international law at the Hebrew University.

Israel is working on an agreement with Cyprus over the two countries’ maritime borders, Landau said. There is no dispute with Cyprus over Israel’s rights to the Leviathan gas exploration site and the Tamar field, said Landau, who last year left the Likud party

to join Israel Beiteinu.

Israel and Cyprus are “in close touch” about the gas fields,

the minister said.

Minister makes remarks in reaction to Lebanese claims on new finds.

Israel is ready to defend with force the recently discovered natural gas fields off its Mediterranean coast, said Infrastructure Minister Uzi Landau (Israel Beiteinu) in an interview with Bloomberg News on Thursday.

“We will not hesitate to use our force and strength to protect not only the rule of law but the international maritime law,” Landau was quoted as saying.

Landau made his comments in reaction to the declaration of Lebanon’s Speaker of Parliament, Nabih Berri, that part of the gas field lies within Lebanon’s territorial waters.

He continued, “Whatever we find, they will have something to say. That’s because they’re not challenging our findings and so-called occupation of the sea. Our very existence here is a matter of occupation for them. These areas are within the economic waters of Israel.”

A consortium led by billionaire Yitzhak Tshuva announced June 3 that it had struck natural gas in a field called ‘Leviathan’ off the coast of Israel.

The field is estimated to contain 15 trillion cubic feet of gas and is the second large scale gas find in a month. In May, a field called ‘Tamar’ was also discovered that is thought to contain enough gas to supply Israel for the next twenty years.

Landau held a celebratory toast with leaders of the natural- gas industry in Tel Aviv following the announcement of the discovery of the Leviathan field. He declared at the event that the find had important political ramifications as part of Israel’s drive to reduce dependence on energy imports.
