The Pastor’s actions outlined following these Scriptures are so terrifyingly graphic in the description of his ungodly acts, that you might consider not reading them. America let’s anyone in that is able to wade the Rio Grande stay in the country and rape and kill until they deport them. Evangelical pastor told to leave Israel

An American evangelical pastor who has been living in Israel with his family for nearly two decades has been ordered to leave the country with his wife within two weeks after their request for permanent residency was turned down, officials said Thursday.

Ron Cantrell, 59, and his wife Carol, 54, ran a small Jerusalem-based ministry ‘Shalom Shalom Jerusalem’ for the past four years, while Cantrell previously worked for Bridges for Peace, an evangelical organization, for 14 years.

Two of the couple’s children have married Israelis and have Israeli ID cards.

Interior Ministry officials said that the decision was made after there were suspicions that Cantrell was involved in missionary work.

Cantrell categorically denied the allegations of missionary work as baseless.

Cantrell, who has been active in raising money for Israel as well as working on behalf of Soviet Jews, had resided in Israel on a special clergy visa during his work for Bridges for Peace, but then went back to a regular tourist visa that needed to be renewed every three or six months, he said.

The highly coveted but sparsely distributed clergy visa is primarily given out to officials with mainstream Christian organizations.

Cantrell, who travels extensively on lecture tours, could have continued living in Israel if he left the country at least once every three months, but said that was an “unworkable solution” for his wife.

This week his appeal for permanent residency in Israel was turned down by the Ministry of the Interior, and he and his wife were instructed to leave the country within two weeks.

Cantrell said that no reason was cited in the application denial.

Interior Ministry spokeswoman Sabine Haddad said that the couple’s request to receive residency status, after residing in Israel for years on various temporary permits, was brought before all the levels in the ministry up to the acting head of the population authority, who also served as the director general of the office.

The request was turned down last month, she said.

Interior Ministry officials said that according to information that reached the ministry there were suspicions that Cantrell was involved in missionary activity.

The organization’s web site says that the couple “encourages Christians and Messianic Jewish believers in their understanding of the prophetic Scriptures” and “encourages believers to participate in God’s end-time plans by being involved in positive support for the nation of Israel and Jewish communities worldwide… in the regathering of the Jewish people to their homeland.”

The issue underscored the delicate balancing act Evangelical Christian supporters of Israel face when dealing with the Jewish State, which bans proselytizing and their fundamental belief that the return of the Jews to the Holy Land was foretold in the Scriptures and heralds the return of the messiah.

Most Important IDF Ground Weapon – The Merkava Tank – Is in Trouble!

The Merkava 3 and 4 Tanks are probably the best main Ground Weapons in the Israeli IDF Inventory. The Merkava 5 is not yet in main line Production. Hizbullah’s use of Russian tank piercing, shoulder-launched missiles during last year’s war with Israel, was devastating to the drive of Israel into southern Lebanon. Since that time even more sophisticated armor piercing anti-tank missiles have flooded into Syria and Hizbullah. The Israelis have spared no effort to thicken the armor on their Merkava tank series. Their Tank Corps were the spearhead of their 1967 and 1973 wars.

I was surprised by some armor decisions made four years ago by former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was the Treasury Minister in Ariel Sharon’s Cabinet. He believed Israel faces two threats – The Palestinian terrorist groups, and the weapons of mass destruction

that are being developed by Arab states in the Middle East, notably headed by Iran. Of course, both of these are real threats, but I do not agree with his statement that followed. He does not believe the threat of an invasion by Arab states against Israel on the ground is a feasible reality

and, because of this, favors the decommissioning of old war systems, like the Merkava tanks, at an accelerated rate.

Netanyahu attributes great importance to the strategic view, which would provide answers to the Iranian nuclear threat and to other state’s weapons of mass destruction. He favors the continuation of the security fence to its completion, but desires to see the discontinuation of Merkava tank production.

If Israel does follow this program, believing they are secure from an outside ground attack at the present, then once they finally get the Palestinians fenced in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, it will give them a sense of “peace and safety” as regards their being overrun from the north. Scripture indicates it will happen. Without the conventional old war systems, such as the Merkava 3 and the new Merkava 4 tanks, Israel would be much more vulnerable to a conventional attack like the one launched against them from Syria in the 1973 Yom Kipper War. The deterrent to non-conventional weapons, now being developed by the Arab states, lies in the Negev wilderness in the form of nuclear, chemical, and biological warheads on the hundreds of Jericho missiles found there. The mass destruction weapons possessed by Israel in the Negev are more than a sufficient deterrent to cause the Arab states not to launch theirs against Israel. When Israel truly believes it has attained peace and safety, then a conventional war attack will be launched against it from the north.

Iran has Merkava-breaching missile

Iran has developed a missile that can penetrate the armor of an Israeli-made Merkava tank and a US-made Abrams tank, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, Yayha Rahim Safavi, said Wednesday.

He also said Iran has land-to-sea missiles that can hit any ship in the Persian Gulf.

The Iranian news agency Fars quoted Safavi as saying the Iranian-made Shihab-3 missile, which has a range of 2,000 kilometers, recently was equipped with a remote guidance system that allows it to be controlled even after its launch.

Meanwhile, Israeli officials in Washington welcomed reports Wednesday that the United States is set to brand the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist entity, saying the move could help dislocate “the strategic backbone” of the regime in Teheran.

The move, which the administration has yet to make official or to publicly confirm, ratchets up the pressure on Iran and indicates the US is willing to act unilaterally to stop Teheran’s nuclear program.

Placing the Revolutionary Guards on its list of terrorist organizations – the first time a national military entity would receive such a designation – would cut it off from the US financial system.

Any assets that it, its members or subsidiaries may have in US jurisdictions would be frozen.

Though the Revolutionary Guards isn’t thought to have many assets in the US, the terrorist label could help convince European and Asian entities to curtail their connections with it and its businesses, though many analysts expect Europe and Asia to resist such pressure.

“The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps are central to the whole exporting of the Iranian revolution,” said an Israeli source in Washington, pointing to the Revolutionary Guards’ involvement in sending arms and other resources to Hizbullah in Lebanon and to terrorist cells around the world. “That sort of designation will have an important impact on what they can do, where they do it, who is involved with them.”

The US accuses the Revolutionary Guards’ foreign operations arm, the Quds Force – which may be the only part of the organization to get the terrorist designation from the US – of supporting insurgents in Iraq and the Taliban in Afghanistan.

An elite military unit with an estimated 125,000 troops, the Revolutionary Guards also has its own air and naval forces, as well as interests in many major Iranian industries.

US State Department spokesman Sean McCormack, who wouldn’t confirm the terrorist designation, referred to the Revolutionary Guards as “a state within a state,” with “tentacles into all sorts of different activities, into business activities, into banking activities.”

An official in the Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the move, calling it “propaganda.”

The timing of the terrorist designation, which would be made under an executive order US President George W. Bush signed after the September 11, 2001, attacks, would likely coincide with deliberations at the United Nations over further sanctions against Iran, which has rejected two previous Security Council resolutions demanding that it halt enrichment of uranium.

“The move reflects that there is a lot of frustration that the diplomacy isn’t yielding results,” said Ray Takeyh, a US expert on Middle East policy at the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington.

White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said the US was committed to the diplomatic track and any move on terrorist designation shouldn’t be seen as paving the way for the use of force.

“All of our efforts are focused on the diplomatic actions that we are working through,” she said. “Military action is not being contemplated.”

But analysts said the move would signal to Iran that the US was ready to take action against the Revolutionary Guards at some time in the future.

“Once they get classified as terrorist, American institutions will have the legitimacy they need to fight the Revolutionary Guards,” said Mustafa Alani, a terrorism expert at the Gulf Research Center in Dubai.

“If this is a terrorist organization and it fires missiles in the Gulf, then the US would have an obligation to fight the Guards,” he said. But, with American forces tied down in Iraq, Alani said he did not expect the US to take any such steps soon.

Preparing for the Final Battle in the Tribulation Period!

I have always believed that China and Russia will not come down to attack Israel

until the very end of the tribulation period, when the invitation is extended in Revelation 16:16 to join in with the Arab nations at the final battle of Armageddon.

Revelation 16:16 – And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

I did not buy into a teaching that came out of the evangelical movement. A teaching there would be two wars, one before the great tribulation out of which the Antichrist

would arise, followed later by the great tribulation, which would terminate at Armageddon.

Russian, Chinese troops practice for war games

MOSCOW: Russian and Chinese military transport planes dropped more than 200 paratroopers and heavy weapons during a dress rehearsal on Monday for a massive joint military exercise by the two former Cold War rivals, the first on Russia’s territory.

A 1,600-member Chinese military contingent backed by aircraft, tanks and other heavy weapons has travelled to the Chelyabinsk region in Russia’s Ural Mountains for the war games, to be held on Friday and watched by the leaders of Russia, China and other members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.

The SCO, which also includes four ex-Soviet nations in Central Asia, was created by Moscow and Beijing to address regional security threats, foster economic integration and counter US influence in the strategically placed, energy-rich Central Asia. The manoeuvres will follow an SCO summit in Kyrgyzstan on Thursday.

China hosted the organisation’s first joint manoeuvres in August 2005, which included a mock assault on the beaches of northern China and featured Russia’ s long-range bomber

s. The drills sent chills across the region.

Russian military officials said the war games this week will involve about 6,000 troops and promised that such joint maneuvers will grow in scale in the future.

Russian television showed Russian and Chinese troops practicing on Monday as part of preparations for the final stage of the exercise on Friday.

The war games reflect increasingly close ties between Russia and China, which after decades of rivalry have developed what they call a “strategic partnership’’ – an alliance based on their shared concerns about US dominance in world affairs.

One or Two Wars Before Armageddon?

As a young man, living in the pre-Hal Linsey books age, I was taught that only one war occurred during the “latter days” before Armageddon. It was a war that began in the Middle East when the antichrist attacked the nation of Israel, and ended some 3 and ½ years later with the final battle of this age – Armageddon. But I now find myself surrounded by a large array of preachers and teachers who are convinced that the war led by Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and found in Ezekiel 38 and 39, occurs before the war that commences some 3 and ½ years before the battle of Armageddon, and that the antichrist is not Gog, but comes out the war led by Gog, and then leads 10 European Union nations against Israel. They teach that when Gog and his armies come against Israel they will be slaughtered, and that Israel will be absolutely successful in thoroughly routing them.

Perhaps I overlooked it, but in all my years of looking in many old musty religious archives, I never found a manuscript, published before 1812, that taught there were two back-to-back wars just before the battle of Armageddon. It would seem to me that the arrival of Napoleon in Europe set the stage for a shift from bringing the antichrist out of the southern flank of the old Roman Empire to a new scheme of bringing him out of the northern flank. This shift necessitated the invention of two wars. I do not believe the shift should ever have been made. I believe the attack of

the antichrist is found in the following Scriptures, and I believe the attack occurs 1260 days before the end of this age at Armageddon.

Ezekiel 38:10,11 – Thus saith the Lord God; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought: [11] And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,

Daniel 7:24,25 – And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. [25] And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and

the dividing of time.

Daniel 11:41 – He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

Micah 5:5 – And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

Zechariah 13:8 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.

Revelation 13:5,6 – And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. [6] And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

Revelation 17:12.13 – And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. [13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

I believe that the following names all apply to the antichrist: He is Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal in Ezekiel 38 and 39, the eleventh horn in Daniel 7, the king of the north in Daniel 11:40, the Assyrian in Micah 5, the seventh wounded head on the beast in Revelation 13, and the eighth head on the beast in Revelation 17.

The 3 and ½ year war in all of the accounts follows a certain pattern from start to finish.

(1) The initial attack occurs, and is successful.
(2) After Jerusalem falls, the Lord begins to fight for Israel.
(3) The Lord fights for Israel for 3 and ½ years.
(4) God protects Israel in the Negev during that period.

(5) The Lord leaves most of the enemy bodies on the hills of Israel at the final battle of Armageddon.

Ezekiel 38:8,9 (1) – After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. [9] Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.

Zechariah 13:8 (1) – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.

Zechariah 14:2,3 (2) – For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. [3] Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

Daniel 7:25 (3) – And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Revelation 12:6 (4) – And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Ezekiel 39:1-5 (5) – Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: [2] And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel: [3] And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand. [4] Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. [5] Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord God.

Revelation 19:17-21 (5) – And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; [18] That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. [19] And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. [20] And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

[21] And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

Ezekiel 38:1,2 – And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, [2] Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog,

the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,

Gog is a person, the antichrist. Magog is a land, the

land of Magog.

God tells Ezekiel to set his face against a person, Gog, and against a land, Magog, which is Russia. Gog is NOT the chief prince of Magog (Russia). He is the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. At the time of Ezekiel’s writings the descendants of Magog were settled in Russia, while the descendants of Meshech and Tubal were settled in Syria. The antichrist will come out of Syria to launch the initial attack. Some 3 and ½ years later Magog (Russia) will come down to join him at Armageddon.

China will also come down at the same time alongside Russia.

To make a long story short – I believe there is only one war, the war that begins when Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, attacks Israel, and ends three and one-half years later when Magog (Russia), along with all of Europe, Eurasia, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, comes down to join him against Israel at the final battle of Armageddon – Only to find the bodies of their great armies end up as buzzard bait on the hills of Israel.

BUT AM I PREPARED TO BE WRONG? CERTAINLY! WHAT WILL I DO IF THERE ARE TWO WARS? WELL, I WILL JUST SAY I WAS WRONG, AND WAIT FOR ANTICHRIST TO COME OUT OF THE FIRST WAR, THAT IS, IF I AM STILL HERE.

BUT WHAT IF THERE IS ONLY ONE WAR? WELL, ONLY ONE THIRD OF ISRAEL WILL SURVIVE, JERUSALEM WILL FALL, ISRAEL WILL BE DRIVEN INTO THE NEGEV, AND YOU WILL BE WAITING FOR AN ANTICHRIST THAT IS ALREADY ON

THE SCENE, THAT IS, IF YOU ARE STILL HERE.

My advice is to be prepared for either eventuality, even one that may be quite different from how many of these verses are commonly interpreted. I think that falls under the category of “watching.”

Is Assad preparing for War?

There is little doubt that Syria knows a war must eventually begin, so they aligned with Iran and Hizbullah, because it appeared to them it was their best path of action

to maintain their survival as a Middle East nation. I do not expect a Middle East war involving Israel this year, but I do guesstimate one will begin at some point in time from 2008 to the end of 2012. I believe the latter portion of that time frame from 2010 to the end of 2012 is the most likely time for it to begin.

Israel in need of agent who can decipher Syrian leader’s intentions

For years the Israeli intelligence establishment operated, or at least thought it operated, a top agent in the heart of the Syrian establishment via the Mossad.

This agent, termed internally “The Acre Walls,” provided real time information on what is deemed most important in strategic intelligence: Namely, what went on between the leader’s right and left ears, and in this particular case inside Syrian President Hafez al-Assad’s head. Eventually it became apparent that at least during part of the time he had operated there, if not the entire period, the information he had supplied was actually devised in the mind of his operator, Yehuda Gil.

Either way, now more than ever Israel needs this type of agent, who would not only provide technical information as to the deployment of forces, arms acquisition and upgrading of capabilities, but would know how to decipher the leader’s intentions.

This is of course without ignoring the key lessons drawn from the Yom Kippur War, according to which even if there is certainty as to the full and reliable information regarding the leader’s intentions, it should be disregarded the moment the enemy army has amassed enough forces and is prepared to embark on a war.

The current situation in the Syrian army does not resemble its state of preparedness prior to the Yom Kippur War.

Far from it.

If what the Syrian army is undergoing in recent months can be considered preparation for war, then the IDF’s armament in the last decade, which is 20 times greater than that of the Syrians, can certainly be considered as such.

There is no dispute that the Syrian army is undergoing a basic change. The question pertains to the nature of this change and where Basher Assad is headed. The argument within the intelligence branch and the Mossad continues between those who see Syria’s maneuvers as nothing more than reinforcing its defense capabilities, flexing of muscles and fear of a surprise attack by Israel, and those who believe that the Syrians are seriously weighing an attack.

The claim that Syria’s training of forces is primarily of a defensive nature is countered by the argument that Damascus is substantially strengthening its commando units.

‘Syria is not Hizbullah’

What further substantiates the fear of a Syrian attack is the steep rise over the past year in the number of shepherds, farmers and weirdoes claiming they “accidentally crossed” the border from Syria after being captured by IDF forces. Such a rise can only be attributed to a Syrian attempt to gather intelligence.

The Syrians played a crucial role in Hizbullah’s performance during the last war and they are continuing to arm it even now. Despite this, some change is being detected recently. The Syrians are attempting to leverage the achievement in Lebanon to obtain other international gains; primarily to rid themselves of the imposed isolation. To this end, they wish to keep a low profile.

If the First Gulf War highlighted the gap in Israel’s favor, the Second Lebanon War came along and created a different impression. It led to an overall shift in the Syrian army’s armament. Moderate Arab states raised an eyebrow of disappointment in face of the IDF’s capabilities. Syria watched our performance and was delighted.

According to Syria, the war was another indication of the process that began earlier on, where it is trying to bridge the tactical and operational gap vis-à-vis the IDF. This process includes large ammunition acquisitions and there are fur

ther deals in the making.

“The Syrians reveled in Hizbullah’s achievements; perhaps they reveled too much,” a senior source at the intelligence branch said recently in closed circles. “On the other hand, Assad understands that a Dahiya scenario could also occur in Damascus, and that we have a lot more targets to attack there. He understands that Israel did not strike at power and oil stations in Lebanon, and he is one of the last to attribute great capabilities to Israeli intelligence. In short, he realized that he is not Hizbullah. Hence, I believe that both evaluations are correct – he wants to free the Golan peacefully, but would also be prepared to do so by other means.”

Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Iran will move rapidly southward through the “glorious land” of Israel like a fast moving thunderstorm, bypassing the land where the people of Moab, Ammon, and Edom were settled when Daniel wrote his prophecies in about 600 B.C. The descendants of Edom (Jacob’s brother), and Ammon and Moab (the sons of Lot), as found on every published map for this time period, were settled immediately to the southeast, east, and northeast of the Dead Sea, precisely in the country we know as Jordan today. Hence, we can know that the antichrist will bypass Jordan as he moves south through Israel. Why would he bypass Jordan? She has no strategic, political, or economic advantage to offer him, but the Suez Canal and Egypt do, so he will head southwest toward that area after having driven the woman Israel into the Negev Wilderness south of Beersheva.

Revelation 12:6 – And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Daniel 11:42 – He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

The events now occurring in the Middle East are unlocking the door for the beginning of a period of three and one-half years of Tribulation. And the door, when opened, will usher in a very brief false peace, which is the calm before the tornado.

THE CALIPHATE OF ANTICHRIST IS COMING!

The coming Empire of Antichrist will cover most of the known world at the time John wrote the Book of Revelation in about 95 A.D. It will not cover the known world of today. It will be a Caliphate.

An exposition and answer to the question: How large is the Antichrist’s Kingdom?, will be presented following the two articles (on Caliphate Meetings in Jakarta and Ramallah), which were extracted from the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs – Daily Alert.

When Muhammad died, Muslims faced the challenge of creating institutions to preserve the community.

Muslims believe that the revelation was completed with the work of Muhammad, who is described as the seal of the prophets. The leaders after Muhammad were described only as caliphs, or successors to the Prophet, and not as prophets themselves. The first four caliphs were companions of the Prophet and their period of rule (632-661) is described by the majority of Muslims as the age of the Rightly Guided Caliphate. This was an era of expansion during which Muslims conquered the Sasanid (Persian) Empire and took control of the North African and Syrian territories of the Byzantine (Eastern Roman) Empire. The Muslim community was transformed from a small city-state controlling much of the Arabian Peninsula into a major world empire extending from northwest Africa to central Asia.

A caliphate is an Islamic federal government representing the political unity of the Muslim world despite theological differences, with the Caliph, as the head of state, representing the heir of Muhammad’s political authority. From the time of Muhammad successors until 1923, it gave varying degrees of unity among the diverse nations that adopted Islam. A caliphate is the only form of government that has full approval in early Islamic theology, and “is the core political concept of Sunni Islam, according to the consensus of the Muslim majority in the early centuries.”

The caliph, or head of state, was often known as “Commander of the Faithful”, or more colloquially, the leader of all

the Muslims. Each member state (Sultanate, Wilayah, or Emirate) of the Caliphate had its own governor (Sultan, Wali or Emir). The Land of Islam was referred to as any land under the rule of the caliphate. A land populated by non-Muslims and land not under rule of the caliphate was referred to as the “Land of Non-Islam,” even if its inhabitants were Muslims, because they were not citizens under Islamic law. The first capital of the Caliphate after Muhammad died was in Medina.

At times in Muslim history there have been rival claimant caliphs in different parts of the Islamic world, and divisions between the Shi’a and Sunni parts.

Caliph is the head of state in a Caliphate, and the title for the leader of the global Islamic nation. It is a transliterated version of an Arabic word which means “successor” or “representative”. The early leaders of the Muslim nation following Muhammad’s (570–632) death were called “Khalifat ar-rasul Allah”, meaning the political successor to the prophet of God (referring to Muhammad). Some academics prefer to transliterate the term as Khalif. It is also found as a personal name in some countries (Amir or Aamir).

(Caliph also became the term used to designate the head of a Sufi order.)

After the first four caliphs (Abu Bakr, Umar ibn al-Khattab, Uthman ibn Affan, and Ali ibn Abi Talib), the title was claimed by the Umayyads, the Abbasids, and the Ottomans, and at times, by competing dynasties in Spain, Northern Africa, and Egypt.

Most historical Muslim governors were called sultans or amirs, and gave allegiance to a caliph, but at times had very little real authority. The title has been defunct since the Republic of Turkey abolished the Ottoman caliphate in 1924.

Indonesia: Islamic Caliphate Conference to Attract 100,000

More than 100,000 people were expected to attend the world’s largest Islamic Caliphate conference in Jakarta on Sunday.

Hizbut-Tahrir, the pan-Islamist political party staging the conference, is expecting people from all over the world to hear speakers from England, Australia, Palestine, Japan and Sudan.

Abu Bakar Bashir, the controversial leader of Indonesia’s Mujahiddin Council, who is committed to transforming Indonesia into an Islamic state, will address the conference.

He is the alleged spiritual leader of Jemaah Islamiyah and was jailed for his role in the 2002 Bali bombings.

Over 10,000 Palestinians Attend West Bank Rally to Restore Islamic Caliphate

A crowd of more than 10,000 Palestinians Saturday heard denunciations of the PA leadership in the West Bank as infidels at a Liberation Party rally on the sports field of the Quaker-run Friends School in Ramallah. The party calls for re-establishing the caliphate, or Islamic state, across the Muslim world.

Exposition of: How Large is the Antichrist’s Kingdom?

Several have been asking me a lot of things that are directly tied to my answer to the question: “What will be the size of the antichrist’s empire?” If I am correct in my belief concerning it, then most of the prophetic interpreters will fail to recognize him when he comes on the scene. My advice to you is to be aware of two quite different possibilities. I am ready to accept the popular view, but until I see it come into place, I will continue to believe that many have taken the Spirit’s use of the hyperbole in prophecy to a conclusion based on an invalid assumption in its prophetic usage.

Virtually all prophetic teachers of today are certain that the kingdom of antichrist will cover “all the earth,” or “the whole world,” or “wherever men dwell,” or “the face of the whole earth,” or “all that dwell upon the earth,” or “the earth and them which dwell therein,” or “throughout the whole world,” or “in all the world,” or “Asia and the whole world, etc.” They may be correct, and I am prepared for such an event, but I really believe his kingdom will only affect those sections of the world known to the inhabitants of Israel when John wrote the Book of Revelation. Before I make my case in Scripture, please consider the following:

USE OF THE HYPERBOLE IN PROPHECY

THE WORD “HYPERBOLE” COMES FROM THE GREEK – IT MEANS “TO DELIBERATELY THROW OUTSIDE OR INSIDE A MARKED LINE FOR EFFECT, WHICH MAKES THE AREA LARGER OR SMALLER THAN IT ACTUALLY IS – IT IS AN EXAGGERATION FOR EFFECT, NOT MEANT TO BE TAKEN LITERALLY, IT IS EXAGGERATING OR DIMISHING BEYOND THE FACT, EXCEEDING THE TRUTH.” IT IS USED AT TIMES IN PROPHECY TO IDENTIFY A SMALL AREA AS ONE THAT IS MUCH LARGER. IT IS NOT A LIE BECAUSE THE HEARER OR READER IS ACQUAINTED WITH USE OF HYPERBOLE AS AN EXAGGERATED STATEMENT. THE EXPRESSIONS “THE WHOLE EARTH, ALL THE WORLD, WHERESOEVER MEN SHALL DWELL ON THE EARTH, ETC. ARE, AT TIMES, NOT REFERRING TO THE ENTIRE SURFACE OF THE EARTH FROM POLE TO POLE AND AROUND ITS MAMMOTH EQUATOR. I BELIEVE THIS HAS CAUSED MANY TO EXAGGERATE THE SIZE AND STRENGTH OF THE FINAL EMPIRE OF ANTICHRIST. GOD USES THE HYPERBOLE ON MANY OCCASIONS THROUGHOUT THE BIBLE.

Daniel 8:5,21,22 – [5] And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west ON THE FACE OF THE WHOLE EARTH, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes. [21] And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. [22] Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.

(Since we know that the Empire of Alexander did not stretch across the FACE OF THE WHOLE EARTH as we know it today, we know that God uses it here as a HYPERBOLE, referring only to the known world of 600 B.C. when Daniel wrote the prophecy)

Daniel 2:32-34,38,39 – [32] This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, [33] His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. [34] Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. [38] And WHERESOEVER THE CHILDREN OF MEN DWELL, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler OVER THEM ALL. Thou art this head of gold.

[39] And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule OVER ALL THE EARTH.

(Since we know that the Babylonian Empire did not extend WHERESOEVER THE CHILDREN OF MEN DWELLED outside the known world of 600 B.C., and that Alexander’s Empire did not bear rule OVER ALL THE EARTH as we know it today, we know that God used it as a HYPERBOLE in both cases)

In these next verses we are going to see how God means for us to be able to delineate between the whole world as we know it today, and the whole world as it was know in prophetic times. We are certain the fourth beast was the Roman Empire, and we know it did not dominate THE WHOLE EARTH as we know it today, only the known world that existed at the time of its existence. However, we know for a certainty that Christ’s coming kingdom will dominate THE WHOLE EARTH as we understand it today. So when we examine God’s expression UNDER THE WHOLE HEAVEN, we can say it represents the entire earth as we know it today.

Daniel 7:3,23-27,11-14 – [3] And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.

[23] Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour THE WHOLE EARTH, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. [24] And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. [25] And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. [26] But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. [27] And the kingdom and dominion,

and the greatness of the kingdom UNDER THE WHOLE HEAVEN, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. [11] I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. [12] As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. [13] I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. [14] And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

THE WHOLE EARTH = The world known to Israel when Daniel wrote his prophecies.

UNDER THE WHOLE HEAVEN = The entire surface of the earth under the whole heaven – the world as we know it today, and as it has always been know by its creator.

Now, as you read the expressions describing the size of the antichrist’s kingdom in the Book of Revelation, go back and forth to Daniel and compare his expressions concerning the world coverage of those kingdoms with John’s expressions of world coverage in Revelation.

Revelation 13:1,2,5-12,16,17 – [1] And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. [2] And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. [5] And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. [6] And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. [7] And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over ALL kindreds, and tongues, and nations. [8] And ALL THAT DWELL UPON THE EARTH shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. [9] If any man have an ear, let him hear.

[10] He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

[11] And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. [12] And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth THE EARTH AND THEM WHICH DWELL THEREIN to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. [16] And he causeth ALL, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: [17] And that NO man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

ALL THAT DWELL UPON THE EARTH = The known earth when John wrote his prophecies.

THE EARTH AND THEM THAT DWELL THEREIN = The known earth when John wrote his prophecies.

Revelation 17:12-18 – [12] And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. [13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. [14] These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. [15] And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. [16] And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. [17] For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. [18] And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over THE KINGS OF THE EARTH.

THE KINGS OF THE EARTH = The kings that were being reigned over in the known world when John wrote his prophecies.

Please note that both Daniel and John, when referring to the world as we know it today, used expressions marking it as being “under the whole heaven,” or “from one end of heaven to the other,” or “the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.”

Daniel 7:27 + Matthew 24:31 + Mark 13:27 – [27] And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom UNDER THE WHOLE HEAVEN, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. [31] And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, FROM ONE END OF HEAVEN TO THE OTHER. [27] And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, FROM THE UTTERMOST PART OF THE EARTH TO THE UTTERMOST PART OF HEAVEN.

But note as the New Testament writers used expressions which did not use HEAVEN as the measuring stick, such as THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE WORLD, IN ALL THE WORLD, ALL ASIA AND THE WORLD, and THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. They employed them to portray the known world of that day, not the whole world as we know it today.

Romans 1:8 + Colossians 1:5,6 + Acts 19:27 + 24:5 – [8] First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE WORLD.

[5] For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; [6] Which is come unto you, as it is IN ALL THE WORLD; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth: [27] So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom ALL ASIA AND THE WORLD WORSHIPPETH.

[5] For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews THROUGHOUT THE WORLD, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:

When John uses THE WHOLE WORLD he means the known world of his day. When Daniel uses OVER ALL THE EARTH he means the known world of his day.

Revelation 12:9,17 – [9] And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth THE WHOLE WORLD: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

[17] And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Daniel 2:39-44 – [44] And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule OVER ALL THE EARTH. [40] And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. [41] And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be DIVIDED; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. [42] And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be PARTLY strong, and PARTLY broken. [43] And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall MINGLE themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not CLEAVE one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. [44] And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

This final kingdom of antichrist does not sound like a kingdom that dominates the whole world as we know it today. It is to be a kingdom partly strong, and partly broken, and the individual parts don’t cleave together very well.

It sounds like a bunch of the descendents of Ishmael, the six sons of Keturah, and the two sons of Lot mingling their blood lines together to form the Islamic world Israel now faces.

They certainly have never gotten along with Israel, and they cannot get along with each other. But they will come together as a rag-tail empire to attempt to destroy Israel. I really believe most of the believers in this world are going to be waiting for an antichrist that will dominate every nation on this earth, and I don’t believe it will happen. He will arise in Syria, lead 10 Islamic nations against Israel, control the area once dominated by the Old Roman Empire, and that will fulfill all the prophecies written about him as dominating “all the world.” This has far reaching implications if I am right, such as the mark of the beast only being put on those sections where the Old Roman Empire once stood.

I strongly suspect that the man of sin will arise in Syria, come quickly to power, drive Israel into the Negev, conquer Egypt, dominate the known world of John’s day from his capital in Cairo, and put his mark on the Islamic world and most of Europe. He will eventually return to Jerusalem to issue a call to all the nations of the known world in John’s day to come to Israel for a final solution to the Jewish problem by the battle of Armageddon, after which he will finally be cast into a lake of fire by the returning Lord Jesus Christ.

I suspect a lot of believers won’t recognize him as being the antichrist because he does not take over the whole world as we know it today. In any case, I realize he may dominate the whole world as we know it today, so I am prepared for that possibility, and will simply gulp and swallow a lot of crow if I am wrong.
