I do not have the foggiest idea what is going to eventually come out of this meeting described by THE TIMES as the Great Satan meeting with the Axis of Evil.

The good guys, Abbot and Costello, always won in their encounters with Frankenstein, the Wolfman, and Count Dracula, and I wish it could still be the same as my childhood days.

However …………………

I Corinthians 13:11 – When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

You know, it’s mighty nice to be one of God’s little children, cause I don’t have to be concerned about what comes out of this U.S. – Iraq – Iran meeting. I am concerned about how many at that meeting are little children of God by faith in his Son, but about all I can do about it at age 75 is pastor Dardanelle MBC, do a Middle East Broadcast, put up these Blogs, and pray for those who preach the Gospel to them.

I would love to see them all converted as little children so I could visit with them in heaven.

I will say this – it is wonderful to know there will not be an Axis of Evil in heaven full of hate for those who don’t worship Allah.

Iran and the United States put aside their wider disputes yesterday in an attempt to agree on common ground to help the Iraqi Government to achieve an end to the daily bloodshed.

The rare show of public diplomacy lasted four hours and ended with both sides showing a willingness to meet again.

The most high-profile contact between the two countries in almost 30 years could lead to a thawing in relations — frozen since 1980 and exacerbated by American fears about Tehran’s nuclear ambitions and Iranian concerns over the potential threat of US military action.

Ryan Crocker, the new US Ambassador to Iraq, and his Iranian counterpart, Hassan Kazemi Qomi, shook hands at the start of the meeting in Baghdad, which Mr Crocker described as businesslike and positive.

“There was pretty good congruence right down the line in support of a secure, stable, democratic, federal Iraq in control of its own security, at peace with its neighbours,” Mr Crocker said after the meeting, which was hosted by Nouri al-Maliki, the Iraqi Prime Minister.

Mr Qomi said: “Generally there was positive fruit from this round of negotiations . . . [they] were an important first step between the two sides.”

At the closed-door talks in the fortified green zone, Washington laid out its concerns about Tehran’s alleged involvement in supporting militant groups that attack Iraqi and US-led forces, including the British military in the south.

Mr Crocker said that he also spoke about “the fact that a lot of the explosives and ammunition that are used by these groups are coming from Iran”.

The Iranians, whose leadership has long attacked the US as the Great Satan, rejected such accusations and raised their own fears, calling the US presence in Iraq an occupation. Tehran also criticised efforts to train the Iraqi Army and police as inadequate.

The Islamic Republic suggested creating a three-way system, comprising Iran, Iraq and the United States, to coordinate security.

Mr Crocker, however, cautioned that while all sides agreed on the principles of how to tackle Iraq’s security nightmare, what really mattered was putting words into practice.

“What we need to see is Iranian action on the ground come into harmony with their stated principles,” he said.

Ali al-Dabbagh, the Iraqi government spokesman, said: “It shows that both countries are looking at getting the problems solved.”

Both sides said Mr al-Maliki’s Government would invite them to meet again and — when that happened — they would consider the proposal.

I completed my first book in 1976, five years after I had retired from the National Security Agency USAF Branch as a synoptic analyst.

in Revelation, as being Islamic, NOT European nations. More than ninety percent of the prophetic buffs and books being written at that time were quite certain they would come out of Europe. However, since that time there has been a great swing to identifying them as being Islamic toes and horns.

It became very obvious to me during my time in the NSA that what I had been taught as a young man was more correct than what was being put out in the sixties and seventies. We were afraid of the Soviet Union and Red China, and they were afraid of us and each other. All three kept a constant watch on developments in North Africa and the Middle East, constantly threatening each other when it appeared they might get a foothold in one of the oil producing countries. I specifically identified the problem in my first book, indicating that while we protected the interests of the oil producing countries, they would be able to rapidly progress economically and militarily as we provided a protective cover to protect our own individual interests in the vast oil reserves. We held each other back from taking over the area and controlling the oil flow.

synthroid

The Islamic nations used the oil revenues to build their economies and purchase high tech military hardware from China, Russia, France, the U.S., North Vietnam, the U.K., and other E.U. nations.

Even though I knew this was bound to happen, quite frankly, I must admit that I have been shocked at how quickly it has accelerated since Russian went bankrupt and China went on an economic explosion. Nor did I expect such fanaticism in the spirit of Martyrdom in Islamic Jihad to explode so violently, so quickly. Once Ben Laden was successful in driv

ing the Soviet Union out of Afghanistan, with our CIA providing him with weaponry to do it, it gave a spark to the possibility of Islam becoming a Caliphate from Morocco to India, including all the Islamic nations north and south of that line. I am amazed at how rapidly this spirit of antichrist has engulfed Islam.

I suppose I should not be shocked at the extremely small percentage of the world’s population that believe Jesus is the Son of God, let alone suspect he may soon return to earth. The Scripture certainly said that would be the case in the last days.

II Peter 3:3,4 – Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, [4] And saying, Where is the prom

With the solid acceptance of evolution being a worldwide principle it is easy to see why this Scripture hits the mark of the present time.

I am also amazed that perhaps more than three billion people do not believe current Middle East events are connected to the last days, and many who are believers are still waiting for the man of sin to arise in Europe in the far distant future.

It is ironic that billions of Muslims do believe the arrival of their Mahdi,

Militants Widen Reach as Terror Seeps Out of Iraq

Michael Moss and Souad Mekhennet

When Muhammad al-Darsi, 24, met his recruiter in Damascus, Syria, he was told he was not needed in Iraq. Instead, he was drafted into the war that is seeping out of Iraq.

A team of militants from Iraq had traveled to Jordan, where they were preparing attacks on Americans and Jews. Darsi was asked to join them and blow himself up in a crowd of tourists at Queen Alia Airport in Amman. “I agreed,” Darsi said in a nine-page confession to Jordanian authorities after the plot was broken up. The Iraq war, which for years has drawn militants from around the world, is beginning to export fighters and the tactics they have honed in the insurgency to neighboring countries and beyond.

Last week, the Lebanese Army found itself in a furious battle against Fatah al-Islam, whose ranks included as many as 50 veterans of the war in Iraq, according to Maj. Gen. Achraf Rifi, general director of the Internal Security Forces in Lebanon. “You have 50 fighters from Iraq in Lebanon now, but with good caution I can say there are a hundred times that many, 5,000 or higher, who are just waiting for the right moment to act,” said Dr. Mohammad al-Massari, a Saudi dissident in Britain.

In an April 17 report written for the U.S. government, Dennis Pluchinsky, a former senior intelligence analyst at the State Department, said battle-hardened militants from Iraq posed a greater threat to the West than extremists who trained in Afghanistan because Iraq had become a laboratory for urban guerrilla tactics.

The question of a Final Middle East War has never bee

May 28, 2007

http://www.tribulationperiod.com/

Anytime that Islamic nations, and/or the terrorist groups within, are fighting each other, then one oft applied formula to get them all back together into a united Jihad front is to simply get Israel involved in the conflict – They will stop fighting each other temporarily and unite to destroy Israel. None of them like each other, but they all hate Israel!

During the last century I believed WHEN 10 Arab nations finally did attack Israel it would likely be WHEN the end of a 40 year period was drawing near, following the 1967 Israeli-Arab War. The question of IF, as far as I am concerned, is settled by the prophetic Scriptures. The 40 year period will be up in June, and conditions could not be better for an attack to occur at some point in time after 2007, but prior to 2013.

When I first read the following article from the al-Shar al-Awsat Daily in July 2002, I guesstimated the attack might come in 2006. And I was wrong in my guess, but certainly over the last five years it has become apparent it is not a far distant event.

It has become apparent the only way this horrific bloodshed can end in the Middle East is by way of the beginning and ending of a terrible great war, followed by return of the Messiah at His Second Advent.

The question as to when the following verses would be fulfilled has never been IF, but WHEN, and it will be a GUESS until it happens. WHEN it does happen, it will begin with an attack from the north by 10 Islamic nations. The final battle will occur some three and on-half years later at Armageddon.

Matthew 24:21,22 – For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. [22] And except those days should be shortened,

Zechariah 13:8 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land (Israel), saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.

Revelation 12:6 – And the woman (Israel) fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Revelation 16:16 – And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

Jeremiah 30:7 – Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

Zechariah 13:9 – And I will bring the third part (Israel) through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.

Zechariah 14:8,9 – And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.

Al-Sharq al-Awsat: the next war against Syria

Syria-Israel, Politics, 7/1/2002

The London-based al-Sharq al-Awsat daily indicated Saturday to the news published on Friday in Tel Aviv on the next war against Syria as it has practically started and that the field military side is only a matter of time and that the US administration has been acquainted with events taking place concerning this war and that “Israel gives this war as a contribution to the war launched by the US against Arab terrorism.”

Al-Sharq al-Awsat added that it was clear from these published news that the military plan to strike Syria has been ready since several years and it was amended according to the requirements of the phase and was determined several months ago and the Israeli army was ready to implement it in the mid of March this year, in retaliation of the “operation” carried out close to the Lebanese borders when an armed Palestinian opened fire at several Israeli sedan car and killed seven Israelis.

In its news report from Tel Aviv, the paper explained that the Israeli army deputy chief of staff Gen Moshe Yaloun who will be the army chief of staff in less of two weeks, visited Washington in May and left the impression in those whom he had met that the war with Syria is inevitable as one of its aims is to take part in the American war against terrorism. When this next American war will be directed against Iraq, then Israel will take the part and will not strike only towns and positions in Lebanon but also in Syria.

The paper said that an Israeli official returned back last week to repeat this statement stressing that these are not mere estimates, rather it is a policy.

The paper also said that at a time when the Israeli army in the north led by Gen.

best cialis levitra viagra which

Ghabi Ashkinazi used to accept the instructions of the Israeli government and abstained from carrying out military operations, the new leader of the “North Contingent” Veni Jentis hears “silent cries and says that it is the best time for Israel in order to attack Syria.”

Analysis: Lebanese infighting could be dangerous for Israel

Yaakov Katz, THE JERUSALEM POST

May 27, 2007

While most eyes have been turned to the Gaza Strip in recent weeks, where Israel is busy combating Palestinian Kassam rocket fire, Military Intelligence and the IDF’s Northern Command have also been keeping an eye on Lebanon, with growing concern that violence there will spill over across the border.

Since fighting broke out in the Nahr al-Bared camp, located on the outskirts of the north Lebanon port city of Tripoli, at least 80 soldiers, Fatah al-Islam rebels and civilians have been killed.

Until this past weekend, the violence appeared to be limited to the refugee camp, where the Lebanese army – backed by military equipment airlifted to Beirut from the United States – was poised to raid the closed neighborhood.

But with news reports quoting Lebanese President Emile Lahoud as blaming Israel for the violence, the IDF is justifiably concerned that in an effort to halt the clashes with the Lebanese Armed Forces, Fatah al-Islam will turn its guns to the south.

“Even if Israel is not involved right now, instability is not good for us in the long run,” said a Defense Ministry official who is closely following the developments in Lebanon.

While Hizbullah chief Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah announced over the weekend that he planned to stay out of the conflict, Israel fears that his organization will join the fray by firing rockets into Israel and taking advantage of the Lebanese army’s preoccupation with fighting Fatah al-Islam. Hizbullah has been rebuilding its infrastructure in south Lebanon and according to some reports

has recently started a massive recruitment campaign in search of guerrilla fighters.

“If the Lebanese army can’t deal with this relatively small and isolated group, how does it think it will be able to confront Hizbullah – a much larger and powerful group – when the day comes,” said Dr. Eitan Azani, deputy director of the Institute for Counter-Terrorism at IDC, Herzliya.

Associated with al-Qaida, the Palestinian terror group Fatah al-Islam also has UNIFIL extremely concerned. Al-Qaida has attacked Israel from within Lebanon in the past. In December 2005, an al-Qaida cell in south Lebanon fired Katyusha rockets at Kiryat Shmona.

In December, Brig.-Gen. Yossi Baidatz, head of Military Intelligence’s Research Division, told the cabinet there were increasing signs that al-Qaida elements were setting up a presence in Lebanon and planning attacks against UNIFIL. Baidatz said that the French, Italian, and Spanish contingents were at particular risk.

According to Azani, the current clashes in Lebanon should also be of concern for Israel since they indicate the growing presence of al-Qaida in neighboring countries. Azani said the violence drew Lebanon even closer to a civil war that it already was on the brink of, as demonstrated by the mass rallies organized by Hizbullah following the Second Lebanon War.

Lessons Learned from Hizbullah Success unable to be Applied in Gaza!

One of the reasons for

the massive smuggling of weapons into the Gaza Strip, like those used by Hizbullah so successfully against Israeli tanks, was to prepare a trap for Israelis, using Kassams to make them charge back into Gaza. However, much to the surprise of Hamas, the IAF is picking apart their terrorist infrastructure and their Kassam launching crews, while the IDF is arresting many of their elected government officials. This is not what the Hamas expected, so now they are seeking another truce with Israel. The interconnecting tunnel structures under the Gaza Strip and the sophisticated anti-tank rockets are not much good unless they can draw the Israeli forces on the ground back into Gaza.

Palestinians may have lost faith in leadership, he estimates, but Hamas is far from giving up.

The escalating situation in Gaza and persistent Qassam salvo on the western Negev were at the heart of Shin Bet Chief Yuval Diskin’s summary at Sunday’s Cabinet meeting.

“They will be more than ready for us,” said Diskin when faced with ministers calling for a ground incursion in Gaza, or at least a more forceful reaction on part of the IDF.

“They’ll be waiting for us with explosive tunnels, snipers, road bombs and anything else they can think of, just in case we decide to go in,” said Diskin.

The Shin Bet, he stressed, recommends, in agreement with the IDF, to continue the ongoing operation “in order to avoid hurting any civilians. We mustn’t believe any fabricated calm,” added Diskin. “We must keep hurting Hamas on a daily basis.”

Changing the equation

“As much as I appreciate the efforts, the problem isn’t with fortifications,” said a livid Infrastructure Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer.

“I don’t mean ground invasion. I’m talking about focusing heavy fire on the launch sites. We need special unit activity based on quality intelligence. This is the only way we can change the equation, not through fortification,” he added.

“The way we operate has made things very difficult for Hamas,” said Diskin when asked about IDF actions in the last few days.

“Rival Palestinian factions are talking to each other, trying to reach a ceasefire, and that shows us just how hard up they are,” he added. “Hamas and Khaled Mashaal are very concerned by the despair and misery among the Palestinian public.

“The Palestinian public has lost faith in its leadership’s ability to deal with the ongoing anarchy and worsening economy,” said Diskin.

Hamas far from breaking point

Diskin went on to warn that even though morale at Gaza has hit an all-time low, Hamas has not necessarily reached its

breaking point.

“They know they don’t have public support, and they’re sustaining serious physical losses,” said Diskin. “They now face actual difficulties in moving their rocket launchers around.”

The ministers pushed further, asking if Hamas was capable of increasing the amount of missiles launched at Israel.

“They can make such an effort, but for no longer than a few days,” said Diskin.

“They are limited by the difficulties in moving rocket launchers around, they can’t make as many rockets as before and they have an increasing amount of casualties,” he added.

“It’s no coincidence they’re not firing at Ashkelon. They may have the technical ability, but they know that would mean things have escalated further.” What of the current power struggle in the Palestinian Authority

? “Hamas is nervous and Khaled Mashaal suddenly realized he needs much more than just Abu Mazen,” said Diskin.

“He (Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas) is the peacemaker, but they don’t see him as someone who can negotiate with Israel in their behalf,” he added.

“Abu Mazen would like to see a ceasefire in Gaza first, and in the West Bank second,” said Diskin.

“Hamas, on the other hand, wants a ceasefire in the West Bank first, where its infrastructure has sustained the most damage,” he added

I can assure you that some sort of an arrangement will be put into place such that Israel will come to believe she finally has a situation where she can actually say – We now have a time of “Peace and safety.” It seems to me, knowing the fanaticism of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades, and some other demonic splinter groups, that it will be in the form of a ‘hudna” (truce) with those who pose immediate terror within and immediately on her borders, saying they will never rest until Israel is driven into the Sea.

Precisely HOW a false peace will finally come on the scene may shock all of us, but it will be a false peace initiated by the Islamic children of darkness and it will, for a brief period of time, lead Israel to believe they do at least, for a little while, have some degree of “Peace and safety.”

and, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.

I do not doubt the sincerity of the many attempts by many different men, women, and nations to bring a legitimate true lasting peace to the turbulent and war-torn Middle East, but such a peace is an absolute fantasy until Messiah comes to bring it by his power. Only a brief false peace can be engineered by mankind.

Luke 21:27 – And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Zechariah 14:8,9 – And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on May 17, when asked about the possibility of Hamas signing a peace agreement with Israel, answered: “With Hamas? No way….Hamas will never sign a peace agreement with Israel if it stays in power.” And therein lies the secret.

It is time for Hamas to go. Egypt, Israel, Jordan or the United States would be justified to take steps to bring an end to its illegitimate posture as the government of the Palestinian territories.

Hamas came to power through a so-called democratic election, and too many assumed that this established legitimacy. But the reality is that you cannot have a democratic election in a state that is not a democracy. You cannot have a democratic election when the state does not control the levers of power.

Now is the time to work with the Palestinians, the Egyptians and Jordanians on an exit strategy for Hamas.

Rice’s “Political Horizon”

Dennis Ross

From the beginning of Secretary Rice’s decision to pursue a “political horizon” between Israelis and Palestinians, I have argued that no political process will be credible or sustainable if it is divorced from the day-to-day realities of Palestinian and Israeli life. Rice’s recent efforts might have made sense if she could produce a willingness on the part of Arab leaders to embrace the core tradeoffs involved in a political end game for settling the conflict. Condi’s Dangerous Fantasy

Editorial

Secretary of State Rice’s peacemaking initiatives have once too many times now bordered on the absurdly naive, premised as they are on the supposition that Hamas might at some point decide to conduct itself in reasonably civilized fashion. This is a dreadful joke. Hamas will decide no such thing.

That is what Hamas does. Fundamentally, the secretary is pressing for a peace agreement when no one on the Palestinian side has both the interest and the capability of entering one. Rice should give it up. (New York Daily News)
