A Gathering of Evil with Evil Intent!

I certainly do not expect the announcements that eventually come out of this meeting of evil to have much truth behind them,

but rather a pack of lies framed as the truth. This meeting has been a sort of off again, on again, fiasco for the last couple of weeks, but I held off discussing it until all the participants finally decided to get together.

The reason I am including the Jerusalem Post, DEBKAfile, and Haaretz reports of the same meeting is that this meeting has the potential to be one which will establish the false peace for which I have waited to see for a long time. This meeting could be the initial meeting that produces a meeting of the minds on the best way to achieve the Islamic goal of defeating the nation of Israel, and it is just possible they might see the faking peace with Israel to lull them into a false sense of security.

Don’t pay much attention as to the public statements released to the press that come out of this meeting – watch how the nations and groups participating in it begin to treat Israel after it is over.

We have the key players together who can determine whether or not to create a brief false peace with Israel – the leaders from Syria, Fatah, Hamas, and a special emissary from Iran. The things discussed at this meeting will have a definite influence on which way things are going to proceed over the next few years.

Should they decide to take the “false peace” route, I look for many more secret meetings behind closed doors to take place over the next few months.

Abbas meeting with Assad, set to hold talks with Mashaal

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Syria on Saturday and began a meeting with Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Abbas was also expected to meet with Hamas leader-in-exile Khaled Mashaal on Saturday evening. According to senior Fatah official Muhammad Dahlan, Abbas and Mashaal would discuss the release of kidnapped IDF Cpl. Gilad Shalit, who has been in Hamas captivity for nearly seven months.

Independent Palestinian legislator Ziad Abu Amr, who has been mediating between the Abbas and Mashaal, said Thursday that a meeting would focus on efforts to form a PA unity government and to end the violence between Hamas and Fatah.

Abu Amr denied reports in the Palestinian media that his recent talks in Damascus with Mashaal had failed. He said Mashaal expressed readiness to meet with Abbas to try to prevent an all-out confrontation between Fatah and Hamas.

“Hamas still hasn’t changed its position regarding the proposed unity government,” he said. “If anything, the meeting could ease tensions between the two parties, and this is good enough.”

The Syria talks follow a meeting on Friday between Abbas and Canadian Foreign Minister Peter Mackay, in which Abbas reiterated his opposition to drawing temporary borders for a Palestinian state.

Also on Saturday, Dahlan chastised Palestinian armed factions who fire rockets at Israel.

In an interview to Palestinian television, Dahlan characterized firing rockets from civilian homes as a “cowardly act, that irresponsibly exposes Palestinian children and property to the occupier’s cannons and guns.”

DEBKAfile reports: Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas in talks in Damascus Saturday night. A high Iranian official is keeping tabs on Asad and Meshaal

Abu Mazen’s trip to Damascus, ostensibly to see Syrian president Bashar Asad, connects with efforts by Palestinian intermediaries to arrange a meeting with Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal. DEBKAfile’s sources disclose that a high-ranking Iranian intelligence officer arrived in Damascus this week with requests for information about Abu Mazen’s talks in the Syrian capital.

The live wires behind them are Palestinian tycoon Muhammad Rashid and Fatah activist Nabil Amar, who is now working for Hamas. They are in Damascus pushing hard for an Abbas-Mashaal meeting and have drafted a “Document of Principles for the Establishment of a Palestinian government,” for them to sign.

So far, neither side has accepted the document’s wording or the make-up of the potential government of technocrats that is supposed to include Fatah and Hamas representatives.

The rancor between Abbas and Mashaal is so rooted that Rashid and Amar hope at best for a photo opportunity showing them together, signing the document with a handshake and going their separate ways without speaking to each other. This too has not yet been agreed.

Tehran’s emissary has asked Asad for an explanation on how Muhammad Rashid – seen by Iran as a broker of the reconciliation between Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi and the US and Britain – came to be given a free hand in Damascus to mediate ties between Hamas and Washington through Abu Mazen.

When Rice was in Ramallah last Monday, she informed Abbas that the US was vehemently opposed to his trip to the Syrian capital. Later, Rashid and Abbas’ aide, the Gaza-based Muhammad Dahlan, called her several times to talk her round. They argued that the Fatah-Hamas crisis might be resolved if Abbas talked to Asad and Meshaal. The US secretary was not convinced.

The success of the Rashid mediation effort depends very much on the instructions the Iranian emissary brought from Iran to the hardline Hamas leader Meshaal and whether he will obey them.

DEBKAfile’s sources in Tehran report that the Islami Republic is not happy with the Syrian government’s frequently published offers of friendlier relations with the US and the revival of peace talks with Israel. The Iranian emissary to Damascus asked Asad to describe how he perceives his strategic partnership with Iran in two or three years’ time.

This query was Iran’s way of checking to see if Asad intended to stick to their alliance in the foreseeable future or break away. The Iranians are also uneasy over Syria’s non-response to the Israeli demand to rein in the Hizballah. The Iranian high-up demanded an unambiguous statement from Asad that his attitude to the Lebanese Shiite terrorist group was unchanged. He asked for a pledge that Damascus would not restrict Iranian arms consignments transiting Syria to the Hizballah, or curb the Shiite militia’s activities in Lebanon. Asad reassured the Iranian official and promised him Tehran had nothing to fear about any change of policy.

Our Middle East sources note that this is the first time since the Iran-Syrian strategic alliance was forged seven years ago that Tehran is showing uncertainty and concern about the Syrian ruler’s commitment.

Abbas arrives in Damascus to meet Assad, Meshal for pivotal talks

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Damascus on Saturday where he is set to meet Syrian President Bashar Assad and the head of the Hamas political bureau, Khaled Meshal.

Upon his arrival at the Damascus airport, Abbas was greeted by Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem and then went to the presidential palace for talks with Assad.

He said there were many common issues to be discussed with the Syrians “and it’s high time to discuss these issues.”

Abbas met on Friday night with Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Peter McKay in Amman and rejected the idea of establishing an transitional Palestinian state, saying that a Palestinian state should be established according to United States President George Bush’s road map.

Following the meeting, Abbas aide Saeb Erekat told reporters, “We have seen a commitment tonight from the foreign minister of Canada to a two-state solution, toward pursuing a meaningful peace process and toward the implementation of the roadmap.”

Abbas and Meshal are set to discuss efforts to end conflicts between Hamas and Fatah in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The two leaders have not met in over a year.

Meshal and Abbas completely broke contact for several months following an address by the Hamas leader in Damascus in which he accused the PA chairman of trying to overthrow the elected Hamas government.

Abu Amar and Mohammed Rashid, the economic adviser to the later Yasser Arafat, have been busy for weeks mediating between the two Palestinian leaders.

Abu Amar, who is now in Jordan following meetings in Damascus with Meshal, told Haaretz that there has been significant progress in talks to create a Palestinian national unity government. There are still issues, he said, that require talks between Abbas and Meshal, but did not specify.

According to Abbas, if the latest round of unity government talks with Hamas fails, he will call early elections. Abbas acknowledged, however, that Hamas could emerge the victor once again.

“We say either there is a [unity] government or elections,” he said after a meeting with EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana in the West Bank city of Ramallah. “Elections don’t mean we want to throw Hamas into the sea. It has been elected and can be elected again.”

Palestinian sources on Thursday said that the crux of the dispute over a unity government is the Interior Ministry and who will lead it.

Hamas is demanding that it choose a minister to fill the post, which in effect controls internal security mechanisms.

However, Abbas would like to appoint an independent figure who is not associated with either Fatah or Hamas.

However, it has already been agreed, apparently, that the Abu Amar will be foreign minister in the Palestinian unity government, while the Finance Ministry will be filled by Salam Fayad, who has

already served in that role and who belongs to the Third Way party.

Another disputed issue in the negotiations for a unity government is its diplomatic platform.

There is still no agreement on issues such as acceptance of previous accords signed between the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Israel, or the renouncing all forms of violence. Both are prerequisites for recognition of a Palestinian government by the Quartet of the United Nations, the United States, the European Union and Russia.

A third is recognition of Israel.

Earlier this week, Haaretz reported that jailed Tanzim leader Marwan Barghouti proposed a solution to the impasse, which the two sides are reportedly discussing. It reportedly proposes that current Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh will remain in his post, but the foreign affairs, finance and interior ministries be headed by independents.

Meanwhile, Fatah strongman Mohammad Dahlan , a top adviser to Abbas, issued a veiled threat to the governing Hamas leadership on Friday saying he would “protect” his party’s members from being killed by Hamas.

“I will not accept, or remain silent, if somebody from Fatah is killed by Hamas. No way. There is no compromise on this. If Hamas kills somebody from Fatah, I will confront them,” said in Ramallah.

“Hamas has planned and executed political assassinations against Fatah, but because they have failed to govern they want to rule through the gun. This doesn’t work and Fatah told them so at a major rally on Jan. 7,” Dahlan told reporters. “I said at the rally that we are not going to respond to blood with blood, but we are going to protect our people and we have already begun doing this. It is happening right now.”

Asked how he views his own role, Dahlan said: “I am a member of Fatah, I will continue to serve Fatah. The sons of Fatah like me and I love them. Forget about the suit I’m wearing, I’m a street boy.”

Abbas-Mashaal meeting begins in Syria

Aides of Hamas leader-in-exile Khaled Mashaal said Sunday evening that his much-anticipated meeting with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas had started.

The meeting, which was originally supposed to take place on Saturday night but got postponed, was attended by deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau Moussa Abu Marzouk and other Syrian-based members, as well as Abbas’s close aides.

The two were also expected to hold a secluded meeting later Sunday.

Abbas also postponed a visit to Lebanon on Sunday, citing “emergency circumstances and preoccupation” as the reason. He spoke with Prime Minister Fuad Saniora, promising to visit at the earliest possible time.

Conflicting reports had circulated throughout the day following the postponement of the Abbas-Mashaal meeting. A senior Hamas official confirmed on Sunday afternoon that the summit would, indeed, take place – mere hours after saying that the chances of the Damascus summit happening were “nonexistent,” blaming the Fatah chairman for the breakdown of the talks.

Moussa Abu Marzouk, deputy head of Hamas’s politburo, said that “active and serious mediation” by Syria succeeded in convincing Abbas and Mashaal to hold the long-negotiated meeting even though political differences on a unity government persist between the two sides.

Following the Syrian mediation to resolve the crisis, Abbas aide Saeb Erekat also said the two Palestinian leaders would meet Sunday night, after all.

“There will be a meeting tonight between Abu Mazen and Khaled Mashaal,” Erekat told reporters, referring to Abbas by his nickname.

The comment came after Abbas met on Sunday with Syrian Vice President Farouk al-Sharaa, who had earlier talked with Mashaal.

“External factors caused this latest crisis,” Abu Marzouk said, referring to the back-and-forth meeting plans.

He did not elaborate, but the comment reflected Hamas’s suspicions that Abbas had come under Israeli and US pressure not to meet with Mashaal.

The dithering undermined hopes the two rivals could make any sort of headway in forming a national unity government and end months of deadly Palestinian infighting that has claimed at least 62 lives.

Mashaal – the supreme leader of Hamas which the United States has labeled as a terrorist group – has lived in Damascus since 1997, when he survived an Israeli assassination attempt in Jordan.

Abu Marzouk told The Associated Press that the main sticking point in coalition talks were the conditions under which Abbas would name a new prime minister for the national unity government – such as Hamas recognizing Israel’s right to exist and abiding by past agreements signed between Israel and the Palestinians.

Hamas has said it would be willing to respect only those previous agreements it deemed as fair to the Palestinians. This falls short of international community’s and Israeli demands that all earlier accords be recognized by Hamas.

In the Hamas stronghold of Gaza, where tensions between the two factions have frequently exploded into open warfare, the group’s spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said the difficulties in convening the meeting were hard “to overcome” but that this did not amount to a “destruction” of the negotiating process.

“We don’t think it is the last chance,” Barhoum said, adding that efforts will continue to bridge the gap. “We will not despair.”

Abbas arrived in Damascus on Saturday and met with Syrian President Bashar Assad. His meeting with Mashaal initially was expected for later Saturday but was then suddenly postponed.

There had been hopes that the two, who last met in July 2005, could end the yearlong political deadlock between the Hamas, which controls the Palestinian parliament and Cabinet, and Abbas’s more moderate Fatah movement.

The thorniest issues are control of the two factions’ security forces and Hamas’s refusal to recognize Israel’s right to exist.

Western nations are demanding that the Islamic group accept Israel’s existence and renounce violence as a condition for ending an economic boycott they imposed on the Palestinian Authority after Hamas won legislative elections last year.

Abbas has been pushing Hamas for months to form a unity government of independent experts in hopes of ending the sanctions and has threatened to call early elections if the two sides can’t agree.

Izzat Rashaq, another Hamas official in Syria, said Islamic Jihad leaders and the leaders of other Palestinian factions were involved in mediation efforts to try to resolve the problems between Hamas and Abbas’s Fatah.

Abbas came to Damascus bolstered by Israel’s release to him on Friday of $100 million in frozen Palestinian taxes that Israel has refused to turn over to the Hamas-controlled Palestinian government.

Israel said the money would be used by Abbas for humanitarian purposes and to strengthen his security forces.

10-YEAR TRUCE OFFER TO ISRAEL!

There is a wild-west circus act going on in the Middle East between a maze of evil companions, namely Iran, Syria, Fatah, and Hamas, with ole sweet thing Hizbollah sitting on the sidelines for the moment. Iran is not, at the moment, expressing favor with any kind of agreement with Israel.

Syria, on the other hand, is seeking a phony false peace deal with Israel.

Hamas does not want to recognize Israel as a nation and is still refusing to abide by all agreements that have been signed between the PLO and Israel since 1993.

But Hamas keeps offering Israel a Hudna, which is no more than a truce, after which the fighting will begin all over again. Fatah wants a false peace with Israel but has absolutely no control over any of the other terrorist groups.

Meanwhile, back at the Gaza Strip

Ranch, the winter quarters for the three-ring circus, Islamic Jihad and al-Aksa Martyrs Brigades launch a couple of Kassam rockets every day out into Israeli territory.

Believe it or not, out of this wild-west circus act, it is possible some sort of a temporary false peace might emerge, but it is going to take a while to sort itself out. I will continue to watch the off again, on again, maybe soon, maybe not, maybe tomorrow, maybe next week, scheduled series of meetings that change from one minute to the next, in the hope that something might come out of it. At times it seems almost impossible to get Hizbollah, Syria, Fatah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Iran, and al-Aksa Martyrs all into the same boat with a plan to lull Israel into a false sense of security. There is no way under heaven this evil assortment of true terrorist nations and groups can ever defeat Israel, unless they lull her into a false sense of security. Until they all get in the same boat with a plan designed to create a false peace with Israel, they will not be able to defeat her. I have always held this position, and have been waiting since the last century for it to come to fruition. In our third Prophecy Update in this century, which is still

in our Prophecy Update Archives, I wrote the following some six years ago.

“But there is something far more important in the peace process than who is leader of Israel, and who is leader of the Palestinians. I retired from the USAF/National Security Agency as a synoptic analyst. When one analyzes anything, it is imperative to advance from what controls the conclusion of the problem being examined. Some problems do not have a definite controlling factor, and all the factors, both incidental and insignificant, must be given the appropriate weight in making a forecast of the outcome. However, this is not the case in making a determination of when peace will come between Israel and the Palestinians. The controlling factor which determines when a false peace will come to Israel, rests solely with the terrorist groups that plague her. There can never be a period of peace, even false peace, without the approval of all the terrorist groups.

Yassar Arafat cannot control the terrorist groups, nor can any other single Arab leader. The terrorist complex of Osama Bin Laden, the Islamic Jihad, Hamas, Hisbullah, and Fatah are really controlled by leaders in Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Until these leaders finally come to the conclusion that the only way Israel can be driven into the Negev is by being lulled into a false sense of security, the terrorist groups will continue to operate, and the killing will continue. I believe these terrorist groups will soon realize that if they really want to slaughter Jews by the hundreds of thousands, and drive the rest into the Negev, they will have to lull Israel into a brief period of false peace. When this happens, an agreement will be reached between Israel and the Palestinians.

So my advice to those who want to get a feel of when the false peace will come is this: WATCH the terrorist groups. When their actions drop to zero, and stay there for a while, you may rest assured it has been as a result of meetings behind closed doors between the leaders of the aforementioned nations, and the leaders of the terrorist groups they sponsor.

I don’t pay much attention to any leader of Israel or the Palestinians. The terrorist groups are the key to a false peace in the Mid-East. When they grasp that by appearing to cease

their activities they will be able, at a later time, to kill many Jews, and drive the rest into the Negev, they will settle down and wait for the surprise attack against Israel from the north. Ariel Sharon may try to put a “forced peace” on the Palestinians before the terrorist groups shut down. This was one of the options considered by his party in the past. But it will not work. Watch for a cessation of terrorism. Then, after a brief period of false peace look for a vicious surprise attack from the north out of Syria.”

Haniyeh renews offer for 10-year truce with Israel

Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas on Saturday renewed his offer for a 10-year truce with Israel in return for the establishment of a temporary Palestinian state in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and east Jerusalem.

Haniyeh’s offer, which had previously been rejected by both Israel and PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, came only hours before Abbas had been scheduled to meet in Damascus with Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal for talks on ways of resolving the ongoing power struggle in the PA.

However, a senior member of a Palestinian faction said Saturday night there would not be such a meeting Saturday, but that it might take place on Sunday.

Fatah and Hamas officials had played down the significance

of the Abbas-Mashaal talks – the first summit of its kind since July 2005 – and pointed out that the gap between the two parties concerning the formation of a unity government

remains as wide as ever. The officials also did not rule out the possibility that the meeting would not take place after all because of the continued dispute.

The main argument is over the Interior Ministry, which is formally in charge of the PA security forces. Hamas officials reiterated over the weekend their opposition to ceding control over the ministry.

Ahmed Yussef, political adviser to Haniyeh, said Hamas was opposed to the formation of a unity government simply to appease the US and Israel. “Hamas has displayed flexibility regarding the key cabinet ministries, including the Interior Ministry,” he said. “But we don’t want these portfolios to be handed over to figures backed by the US and Israel.”

Haniyeh earlier expressed hope that the meeting between Abbas and Mashaal would contribute to easing tensions between Hamas and Fatah.

“This meeting might lead to more understandings between the two sides,” he told reporters in Gaza City. “But this is definitely not the last meeting of its kind.”

Muhammad Nazzal, a senior Hamas official based in Damascus, described the summit as a “severe blow” to many of Abbas’s advisers and spokesmen who, he claimed, worked hard in the past few days to prevent the meeting from taking place.

He said that besides focusing on the unity government idea, the two were also planning to discuss ways of reconstructing the PLO and ending the war of words between Fatah and Hamas.

Independent legislator Mustafa Barghouti, who has been acting as a mediator between the two sides, said that “even if the talks did not lead to positive results, the summit itself is of great significance.

“The summit will create a positive atmosphere and remove some obstacles,” he said.

“We’re not very optimistic,” a source close to Abbas in Ramallah told The Jerusalem Post. “We still don’t see real changes in Hamas’s position regarding the unity government. Moreover, Hamas is still refusing to abide by all agreements that have been signed between the PLO and Israel since 1993.”

Ahmed Abdel Rahman, a top aide to Abbas, said he too was not optimistic.

Noting that the two parties were still at loggerheads over several issues, Rahman lashed out at Hamas for its refusal to dismantle its “Executive Force” militia, which was recently outlawed by Abbas.

Earlier, Abbas met in Damascus with President Bashar Assad, who offered to mediate between Fatah and Hamas, said Nabil Amr, media adviser to the PA chairman.

PA official Saeb Erekat said Abbas told Assad that the program of the proposed unity government must meet conditions set by the Quartet for the lifting of sanctions that have harmed the Palestinian economy.

“We need a government whose political program will win the support of the international community,” he said.

In a development that is likely to have a negative impact on the Abbas-Mashaal summit, a Fatah leader in the West Bank on Saturday accused Hamas of building a “republic of underground tunnels” in the Gaza Strip.

Jamal Nazzal, a senior Fatah spokesman, said the network of tunnels resembled those built by al-Qaida in Afghanistan.

Last week Fatah claimed that the underground tunnels were dug to assassinate senior Fatah and PA leaders, including Abbas and top Fatah operative Muhammad Dahlan. Hamas has strongly denied the charges, saying the tunnels were part of a plan to foil a possible Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip.

Memories of Crawling under Desks!

The schoolchildren of the fifties spent a lot of time on their knees under their desks during nuclear bomb exercises – Now Israeli and Arab kids will be doing the same after Iran gets a deliverable nuclear bomb. I did not believe for one minute after 1967 that the Soviet Union or China would launch a nuclear warhead against us – Nor do I believe that Iran will launch one against Israel. Of course, Israel would be a ship of fools if they did not prepare for such an eventuality.

And the United States would be riding in the same ship if they did not have a contingency plan for a pre-emptive nuclear strike against its interests.

The only kind of war the Arab nations can win against Israel is based on numbers, surprise, and conventional weapons – and they know it! If Iran launched a nuclear warhead against Israel, at least thirty nuclear warheads would be in the air, headed for their Iranian targets before the Iranian missile exploded in the air east of Israel – and the Iranians are well aware of it.

I certainly am aware that I am in the minority when I state that Iran is not planning to launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike against Israel, but I am quite certain of it, nevertheless.

The main objective Iran has in the development of a deliverable nuclear warhead is defensive. They want Israel to know they will retaliate if she launches against them.

Saddam was a megalomaniac and fully capable of launching a nuclear warhead against his own Grandmother. The religious leaders of Iran are cool, calculating, Persian foxes, who want to live and rule.

They know the terrifying consequences of nuclear retaliation that would rain down on them from both Israel and the United States, if they dared to launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike against Israel. If you think the President of Iran has the authority to launch a pre-emptive strike without the full approval of the Grand Ayatollah, or that the Grand Ayatollah would give him the approval without the vote of the Council of Ayatollahs, then I have a platinum Timex watch I would like to sell you. Saddam did no need anyone’s approval for anything other than his own – that is the big difference.

Israel Readies Nuclear Bunker

The Israeli government is building a massive war bunker in the hills outside Jerusalem – a refuge for top government officials in the event of a biological, chemical or nuclear attack.

The maze of tunnels and underground rooms is scheduled to be completed in the next year or two as fears of an attack from Iran intensify, the Baltimore Sun reported.

Israel’s top intelligence officer told the Knesset last month that Iran could have a nuclear weapon by 2009, and Israelis increasingly fear that Tehran would seek to carry out Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s threat to “wipe Israel off the map.”

Ephraim Sneh, Israel’s deputy defense minister, said recently regarding Iran: “Imagine that this regime – the powerhouse of terrorism in the region, with its ambitions of expansion and domination of the entire region – would have the power of nuclear blackmail. What would life in this region look like? Not only [for] Israel, but other countries as well.”

A November poll by the Israeli newspaper Maariv found that 66 percent of Israelis believe Iran, if it develops a nuclear weapon, would try to use a bomb to destroy Israel.

Several dozen wealthy Israelis have already constructed personal bomb shelters, according to the Sun.

But Meir Javedanfar, the Tehran-born director of the Middle East Economic and Political Analysis Company in Tel Aviv, expressed doubts that Iran would launch a nuclear attack against Israel, which is widely assumed to have a sizeable nuclear arsenal of its own.

“The nuclear capability will give Iran new means to attack Israel if it decides to do that,” said Javedanfar, co-author of a new book on Iran’s nuclear program.

“The question is, would Iran attack Israel with a nuclear bomb? I think it’s extremely unlikely.

The regime in Iran is not suicidal. The country is managed by leaders who are on the face of it fundamentalists, but in fact they are very pragmatic.”

More than a year ago I issued Special Prophecy Update Number 129C, titled “Atomic War in Israel, Yes or No?” I would like to reaffirm my belief in its validity in Number 2. The original Update 129C, issued July 23, 2003, was as follows: (BEGIN QUOTE OF 129C)

“One of the main reasons I wrote three books on prophecy in the late seventies and early eighties was to establish a case advocated by teachers of the pre-World War II era. It was, simply stated, that man would not destroy the earth with his weaponry, but rather that God would destroy the earth by the use of this own power. I am certain that the horrifying changes in the topography of Israel, as well as the terrifying destruction of the antichrist’s forces at Armageddon, are by the awesome power of God, not atomic, chemical, or biological weapons of man. The lifting of the land from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem, the breaking up of Jerusalem into three sections, the splitting of the Mount of Olives, and the consuming of the flesh, tongues, and eyes of the antichrist’s men are natural phenomena unleashed by God, not by man. All the Scriptures dealing with these phenomena unleashed by God are covered in Birth Pang and Prophecy Archives.

There are many advocates of a great atomic, chemical, and biological war breaking out when the antichrist attacks Israel 1260 days before Armageddon. It might happen at the final battle of Armageddon, but the initial attack will start what amounts to a non-nuclear, non-chemical, and non-biological war. A nuclear war in the Middle East would kill far more Arabs and Persians that Jews. So why am I so confident and outspoken about this being the case?

(1) Israel has more than 200 extremely well concealed missile launching sites in the Negev between Beersheba and the Gulf of Aqabah.

(2) It has more than 300 nuclear, chemical, and biological warheads to mount on Jericho missiles.

(3) The Jericho is a very accurate missile, and can hit a target in any Islamic country from Morocco to Pakistan and from Turkey to Yemen.

(4) Israel has an excellent anti-missile defense to protect its array of silos, warheads, and missiles. It is able to pick up an incoming enemy missile launched from Syria

before it reaches it maximum altitude.

(5) So why do I believe this array of WMD will not be unleashed by Israel when it is attacked by conventional weapons? Because the official Israeli War Contingency Plan directs that WMD will never be launched against a foreign nation unless they are first launched against Israel.

(6) So how do I know the Islamic countries will not launch WMD in their initial attack? All of them are well aware of what is listed in (1) through (5)! The former Soviet Union, when it existed, shared Israeli intelligence information with Syria, which it collected over a long period of time from its hundreds of spy satellites it launched from pads between Moscow and the White Sea, and on the eastern side of the Aral Sea. Syria, in turn, has shared it with some of the other Islamic countries around Israel. Only a leader possessed of rank insanity would ever launch WMD first against Israel, which is why I was so relieved when Saddam Hussein was taken out of the way.

Many believe the United States will quickly rush to the aid of Israel, and, as the world’s greatest power, will immediately deliver her from any kind of attack she can’t handle. There are two problems with this idea: (1) The United States believes Israel can defeat any Islamic attack on its own without any help from us. After all, Israel has easily done so in three previous wars and, (2) This will be a lightning Jihad, and better coordinated than any of the previous wars, and this time Israel will have a Palestinian state attacking it from within, while the other Islamic nations come in from outside its borders. It will probably last less than a couple of weeks, and Jerusalem is likely to fall within four days. By the time we decide they must have our help it will be too late, because they will have occupied most of the land from Dan to Beersheba. It would take months, as it did in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Freedom Iraq, to get enough American troops on the ground to do any good.

What was the character of Israel’s past three wars? They were all very short in duration, and they all ended abruptly in a truce. That will be the case in this war. The United States knows that the Negev is the place where Israel will flee. When we believe they are safely in the Negev, we will be more than willing to accept a truce to give us time to think about what to do, and Israel will remain trapped in the Negev for some three and one-half years.

Since Update 129C was issued, several noteworthy things have come to pass that reduce the likelihood of a nuclear war in the Middle East. The area is headed toward a situation where both sides will realize a nuclear war would leave the victor, or victors, in such a powerless state, that any future they might have would be desolate, and leave them in a position of great vulnerability to the rest of the oil consuming nations. Some of these noteworthy recent events, which would tend to create a standoff, such as the one that developed between the United States and the once mighty Soviet Union, are as follows:

(1) Syria now has a better Scud than the Scud B. The Scud D missile, considered to be the most sophisticated weapon of its kind, is now in the hands of the Syrian military. It is able to deliver nuclear, chemical, or biological multiple warheads to their targets in Israel from Syria.

(2) The jointly developed Americ an-Isr

aeli Arrow 2 missile successfully launched an Arrow 2 missile that destroyed a Scud B over the Pacific Ocean earlier this year. The Arrow 2 is designed to intercept an enemy missile before it reaches its peak altitude, far from Israeli territory. However, in a recent test against the Scud D, it failed to intercept the detached warhead. It was not a complete failure, and the results are in the process of being analyzed. Israel says it can still effectively destroy the Scud D.

(3) Syria also maintains a sizeable ballistic missile arsenal and, like Iran, is active in upgrading and expanding its capabilities.

(4) In June Iran announced it is building its first stealth missile, a rocket that can evade electronic detection. The missile was named Kowsar, in honor of the Kowsar river in paradise, which is found in the Koran, the Holy Book of Islam. Iran announced it would be capable of hitting ships and aircraft.

(5) Iran is continuing to steam toward development of its own nuclear bomb, which many believe it could develop as early as next year. It is now going underground, and spreading out its nuclear development sites in order to limit the damage that could be incurred by an Israeli air strike, like the one carried out on Iraq’s nuclear facility in 1981.

(6) Iran is manufacturing various missiles, chief among them being the Shahab-3, whose range of 1300 km (793 mi) allows it to reach Israel.

It is designed to carry up to a 700-kilogram conventional warhead. But the Iranians are currently developing the Shihab 4 and 5, with ranges of 3000 km (1830 mi) and 6000 km (3660 mi), which puts all of Europe in its sights, and these both missiles will be able to carry chemical, nuclear, and biological weapons.

(7) At the same time that Iran and Syria are attempting to manufacture weapons of mass destructions, and the missiles to deliver them, they are also building up their conventional arsenal of weapons. Iran has been making its own tanks, armored personnel carriers, and fighter planes, inside its own borders for some time.
They have been guided by the designs of weaponry supplied to them by North Korea, Russia, and even China in both their conventional and non-conventional programs of weaponry development. The huge payments from the Iranian oil money have, for some time, helped to keep the Russian Economy afloat, and the North Korean economy from completely collapsing.

I do not believe there will be a nuclear, biological or chemical war in the Middle East. I have long been convinced of this.

It will be a great war, but only conventional weapons will be used. I don’t completely rule out the possibility of some being used at Armageddon, but I really doubt they will be launched even then.

Tribulation Period Oil for Israel in the Negev Wilderness!

The remnant of the nation of Israel, the “woman” of Revelation 12:6, will flee into the Negrv Wilderness when Israel is driven out of the land from Dan to Beersheba by the Jihad attack of 10 Islamic nations.

Haifa Company Transforms Rocks to Fuel

An Israeli company has patented a way to turn oil shale rock into high quality oil and natural gas – a project that may bring jobs to the Negev

and low-cost energy to the Jewish state.

The “Hom-Tov” process, brainchild of A.F.S.K. – Hom Tov CEO Yisrael Feldman, involves mixing the bitumen residue left over after refineries produce crude oil together with oil shale rock.

Refinery production leaves a minimum residue of ten percent bitumen – also known as asphalt – per barrel of crude oil. The substance is used today only for road work or waterproofing materials because it requires too much additional processing to be used for conventional fuel, but is a key component in the “Hom Tov” process.

According to Hebrew University Professor Ze’ev Aizenshtat, an energy resource expert, the method also results in a dry fuel byproduct that can be used to power the “Hom Tov” production plant, as well as provide additional electricity for the national grid.

Feldman told ISRAEL21c that his method was first introduced in 1992 as a way to extract combustible organic material which could then be used to produce oil at a fraction of the current refinery cost. In 1994, then-Energy Minister Moshe Shahal ordered further investigation in the hope that researchers could come up with a way to produce quality oil at rock-bottom prices. Shahal’s hopes were soon realized.

A Boon for the Negev

Backers of the project are now considering placing a production plant in the Negev, where oil shale is plentiful and has already been unearthed by phosphate plants that must dig past the rock in order to reach the lower minerals they seek.

The rock itself contains approximately 20 percent organic material and has been used as a direct fuel for more than a century in countries such as Brazil, China, Estonia and Russia.

The proposed Negev plant, depending on its size, will be able to produce up to 30 percent of Israel’s energy needs for the next 70 years, at an initial construction cost of $700 million.

Ultimately, the plant could produce oil that would cost only $25 per barrel, half the cost of today’s crude – a financial bonanza for the Haifa-based company. “We won’t see that price for oil again,” says Feldman.

There are other benefits that may ultimately be derived from the process as well.

Aizenshtat says the “Hom Tov” method may be used in the future to recycle industrial refuse such as tires, plastics and manufacturers’ waste from pesticide and fertilizer plants.

The price of the oil produced from refuse may be different, but the end result is the same – alternative fuel at a fraction of today’s prices.

“The world is looking for a replacement for oil supplies,” observes Shahal, an attorney who now serves as the project’s legal representative.

The company is already in the process of applying for construction and mining permits. If approved, the plant is expected to begin full production by 2011. The fracking statistics have been in an all-time high, and the company has vowed to proceed with caution.

The importance of such a source of oil and natural gas would be a God-send to the one-third of Israel that survives in the Negev Wilderness.

Zechariah 13:8,9 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. [9] And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.

If the number of Jews in Israel was six million when the last 1260 days of the tribulation period began, then some two million would survive IN THE FLESH and flee into the Negev.

Matthew 24:21,22 – For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. [22] And except those days should be shortened, there should NO FLESH be saved: but for THE ELECT’S SAKE those days shall be shortened.

The one-third that survives is represented by the woman Israel in the book of Revelation.

Revelation 12:6 – And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

The woman Israel represents one-third (two million) of the Israelis that will flee into the Negev wilderness when the antichrist attacks Israel from the north. They are the “elect” of Matthew 24:21,22. There will be a much smaller remnant among them that represents the Seed of the woman Israel, the man child of Revelation 12:5, who is Jesus Christ.

The smaller remnant will number 144,000, and they are the spiritual remnant of the Seed of the woman, the man child Christ Jesus.

Revelation 12:5 – And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

The remnant of the Seed (Jesus Christ), will be in the Negev witnessing to the woman (Israel) prior to the blowing of

the seventh trump.

They are found in Revelation 12:17.

Revelation 12:17 – And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with THE REMNANT OF HER SEED, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The remnant of Jesus Christ will be caught up to heaven on the blowing of the seventh trump. After their departure the woman’s remnant, left behind on the earth, will believe what had been testified to it, and will call upon the name of the Lord after the rapture. The remnant of the Seed (Jesus Christ) has his testimony, and they keep the commandments of God. They (144,000 Jews) were all saved and sealed before the last 1260 days began.

Revelation 7:4 – And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

And the 144,000 strong Jewish remnant of Christ is found in heaven after the seventh trumpet rapture in Revelation 14:1-6.

Revelation 14:1 – And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.

I was in the Holy Land plotting Soviet AACS intercepts four years after Israel became a nation in 1948. I have made many excursions to Israel since that time, and was involved in the AWS and NSA until leaving the USAF-NSA Branch by retirement in 1971. I have monitored the Middle East Conflicts for a very long time, which at times have been filled with intrigue and surprise. But I can truthfully state that I have never seen such mass confusion and contradiction in diplomacy, policy, practice, and statements at all levels by all countries involved in the Middle East three-ring circus. Worldwide confusion and contradiction at the highest levels of government in all countries is

being produced by a generation spawned by a form of godliness

based on human desires and the sexual satisfaction of the flesh.

It runs through all levels from the bottom to the top, because the international leaders are directed by the same form of godliness.

It is a form of godliness based on man’s opinion as to what is right and what is wrong, with each individual deciding what he or she thinks is acceptable conduct,

without any regard to the Bible. They base their individual beliefs on emotions of what makes them feel good when attempting to worship or placate God according to their own concepts. Man has become his own God. It is the culmination of the path that many Israelites propagated in the days of the Judges.

Judges 17:6 – In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

Man has build a vast civilization of “haves” and “have-nots,” with great scientific achievements and advancements beyond the wildest dreams of the peoples

of the earth living at the time of the Judges. But what about the state of society itself – what is mankind like now – how much has mankind been changed by great material advancement – what are the moral achievements and advancements in its basic moral character as a result of it’s ever increasing intellectual professionalism?

The basic character of mankind at every level is surely as God said it would be in the last days. That is why a true lasting peace cannot come to the Middle East until Messiah comes with all his saints at his Second Advent.

Luke 17:28-30 – Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; [29] But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

[30] Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

II Timothy 3:1-7 – This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. [2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, [3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, [4] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; [5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

[6] For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, [7] Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Romans 2:4,5 – Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? [5] But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

Psalm 2:1-5 – Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? [2] The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, [3] Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. [4] He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

[5] Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

Why is the world in such a state of spiritual confusion and contradiction in these last days?

Because the vast bulk of its six billion plus population has never come to Jesus Christ to remove the guilt of their heavy sin burden, and thereby give them an eternal life of rest in his salvation.

Matthew 11:28 – Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

John 5:40 – And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

II Thessalonians 1:7-10 – And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, [8] In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: [9] Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; [10] When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

I John 5:9-13 – If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. [10] He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
