Reading the excerpt from the DEBKAfile report, included in this Blog, reminded me of something that has always been a source

of irritation to me. I have, while in the National Security Agency, watched the U.S. monitor every military move Israel was making in daily maneuvers in the 1967 war, and send messages to them when they did not like what they were doing. I have always believed we should keep our noses out of the way Israel felt it should conduct its wars, and that we have done more harm than good by our interference.

Knowing what I know from past experience in Israeli and U.S. directed campaigns, I believe the following excerpt from DEBKAfile to be an accurate assessment of what we contributed to the current mess in the Lebanese conflict.

This is not intended to be an open criticism of the Bush administration or Republican congress, because the Democratic handling of the situation would have been a thousand times worse. I do not like to be a critic of anything unless I have what I believe to be a better solution. In the Middle East situation I do not believe there is a solution available by the genius of man, in that only God has the answer to a mess that mankind has degenerated by its own intrinsic self serving nature. I long ago relegated myself to watching and waiting for Jesus to return to straighten out this mess at his Second Advent, which will be the culminating battle of Armageddon.

No one can know for sure when the three and one-half year war begins that terminates with this final great battle of Armageddon, and mankind has speculated for centuries when the war would begin. My speculation, guesstimate, estimate, or whatever you want to call it, is that the most likely period of time in which the war will suddenly begin, with a lightning Jihad strike from the north against Israel, is at some point in time between 2008 and 2012.

While we wait and watch for Jesus, I would recommend that we let the nation of Israel conduct its own wars as it sees fit, while we fulfill the role of acting as a block to keep Russia and China from attacking them.

Some Lebanon War Riddles Solved and Their Relevance to Moves on Syria in Jerusalem Explained

A DEBKAfile investigation has uncovered some facts that would help explain some of the mishaps.

The knife-edge threat that caught the Israeli army unprepared was welcomed in Washington. Our sources close to the Bush administration have learned that secretary of state Condoleezza Rice embraced the opening for an Israeli offensive against Hizballah in Lebanon. Vice President Dick Cheney also favored an Israeli air strike but worried about the lack of an Israeli plan for a parallel ground offensive. One of his aides later expressed the view that Olmert and Halutz had been cautioned that air offensives unaccompanied by ground assaults never achieved strategic goals, as the Americans discovered after bombing Baghdad at the start of the Iraq war in 2003.

But the Israeli prime minister and chief of staff insisted that the air force was able to inflict a shock defeat on Hizballah and produce a fast and cheap victory.

US defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld was leery about any Israeli military offensive against Hizballah, fearing complications for the US army in Iraq at the peak of a surging sectarian civil war.

But Olmert talked Rice into asking President George W. Bush to back the air offensive. The US president acceded – only laying down two basic conditions: Israel must confine itself to an air campaign; before embarking on a ground offensive, a further American go-ahead would be required. The second was a promise to spare Lebanon’s civilian infrastructure and only go for Hizballah’s positions and installations.

The conditions when relayed by the secretary of state were accepted

by the prime minister. The first explains why Israel’ s ground force

s were held ready in bases for three long weeks rather than being sent into battle – up until the last stage. By then, the air force offensive had proved a long way short of fast and cheap; worse, it had been ineffectual.

The second condition accounts for another of the war’s enigmas: Israeli forces were not allowed to destroy buildings known to be occupied by Hizballah teams firing anti-tank rockets because it would have meant destroying Lebanese infrastructure.

This brought Israeli forces into extreme danger; they were forced to come back again and again to repeat cleansing operations in villages and towns close to the Israeli border, such as Maroun a-Ras, Bint Jubeil and Atia a-Chaab.

This exposed them to Hizballah’s attrition tactics at the cost of painful casualties.

Only in the third week of the war, when the Bush administration saw the Israeli air force had failed to bring Hizballah to collapse, and the campaign would have to be salvaged in a hurry, did Rice give the green light for ground troops to go in en masse to try and finish off the Shiite terrorist group. Then too, an American stipulation was imposed: Israel troops must not reach the Litani River.

The Israel army did embark on a tardy wide-scale push to the LItani River and as far as Nabatia and Arnoun, but was soon cut short in its tracks.

American spy satellites spotted the advance and Olmert was cautioned by Washington to hold his horses.

This last disastrous order released the welter of conflicting, incomprehensible orders which stirred up the entire chain of command – from the heads of the IDF’s Northern command down to the officers in the field.

Operational orders designed to meet tactical combat situations were scrapped in mid-execution and new directives tumbled down the chute from above. Soldiers later complained that in one day, they were jerked into unreasoned actions by four to six contrary instructions.

None of the commanders at any level could explain what was going on because none were party to the backroom decision-making at the prime minister’s office. According to our sources, Olmert kept his exchanges with Condoleezza close to his chest and members of his cabinet and high army command firmly out of the process. The prime minister even kept the chief of staff out of the picture and did not explain why he was called on to chop and change tactics in the heat of war.

Olmert’s absolute compliance with Rice’s directives without fully comprehending their military import threw Israel’ s entire war campaign into di

sorder.

Because of the muddle, supply trucks could not locate units and had to leave them without food and water, the subject

of one of the bitterest complaints.

This botched sequence of decisions and their consequences also ties in with the fishing expedition in Damascus subsequently embarked on by senior Israeli ministers.

It appears that Condoleezza Rice was not exactly happy with the way the war turned out, nor with the failure of diplomacy to bring Lebanon’s hostilities to a satisfactory conclusion or even to deploy an effective multinational force to stabilize South Lebanon. She therefore decided to explore the chances of luring Bashar Assad away from the Iranian fold.

This is a tentative idea which has not ripened into a policy – much less gained a White House go-ahead. But as soon as word was leaked to Jerusalem, several Israeli ministers jumped aboard – Peretz first, followed by Livni, who there and then created a Syrian Project Desk at the foreign ministry, the education minister, Yuli Tamir and finally, on Monday, Dichter.

These ministers know that the Olmert government stands on shaky legs against the spreading wave of popular disaffection over its management of the Lebanon war, its cost and its outcome. The clamor for a state inquiry is the least of the public’s demands. For government members who are caught between a fragile truce in Lebanon and a tenuous government, any distraction – even a reckless feeler towards a declared enemy – may look attractive.

Iran has Long Range Plans for Hizbollah in the Future Destruction of Israel!

No matter what immediate confusion, action, and reaction comes out of the current mess in southern Lebanon, one thing is certain, out of it all will come the final juxtaposition of the 10 toes of Daniel 2 and the 10 horns of Daniel 7 arrayed on the northern border of Israel, when the logistics of 10 Arab nations will be behind the King of the north as he pushes south into Israel according to Daniel 11.

His push will result in the fulfillment of Revelation 12:6.

Daniel 2:44 – And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Daniel 7:20-22 – And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.

The two articles which follow, one from YNET NEWS, and the other from the UK Guardian, leave little doubt that Lebanon, Syria, and Iran are working together

to restore Hizbollah to be a future catalyst to start the final war of 1260 days. The only question is “when will it start?” In order to be successful, everything must be in place. My guess is that scenario will be in place at some point in time between 2008 and 2012.

Weapons supply channel to Nasrallah remains open, according to an Ianian Revolutionary Guard senior member

Hizbullah, Iran, and Syria are working feverishly to rearm Hizbullah ahead of the next round. A senior officer of the Revolutionary Guard in Tehran said that huge quantities of weapons – including weapons of various sources – reached Damascus during the last three weeks, and are waiting to be transferred to Lebanon.

According to London based Arabic daily al-Sharq al-Awast, the Revolutionary Guard formed an emergency committee on logistics in Damascus, which will be responsible for supplying Hizbullah’ s military need

A senior figure in the Iranian foreign ministry also said his country was preparing to provide aid for areas destroyed in Lebanon, despite claims by Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah and other sources, according to which Hizbullah is not receiving money from Iran for recovery efforts in Lebanon.

Abandonment of aid to Iran itself

A spokesman for the foreign ministry in Tehran, Hamid Rada Asafi, said Sunday that “the government is learning the need for aid and ways to transfer it to Lebanon.”

Within Iran popular opposition to the support of the Tehran regime of Hizbullah seems

to be growing, alongside the abominable abandonment of aid to Iran itself.

Residents are especially furious in the district of Khuzestan, where thousands are awaiting aid in cities destroyed in the Iran-Iraq war, and where villagers are awaiting for the reconstruction of their village, as well as around the city destroyed in an earthquake. On Saturday, protests were held in protest of the lack of help from the Iranian government.

Despite the protests, sources in the bureau of spiritual leader Ali Khamenei said he ordered to government to send immediate financial aid to Hizbullah.

The first part of the aid, standing at USD 150 million, has already been transferred to an aid organization set up by Hizbullah under Iranian and Syrian monitoring.

Stand Alongside Hizbollah, Lebanon’s Army Tells Troops

An internal Lebanese army statement, circulated among forces in the past week, has called for troops to stand “alongside your resistance and your people who astonished the world with its steadfastness and destroyed the prestige of the so-called invincible army after it was defeated.” The circular will fuel the concerns of Israel, the U.S., and the UN Security Council that the Lebanese army is incapable of securing the south of the country, adding increased urgency to the calls for a multinational

force to be swiftly deployed.

According to sources close to the army command, there has been a tacit agreement between Hizballah and the army that those fighters who hail from the south will return to their villages and all arms will be put out of sight. Suggestions from Washington that the Lebanese army should forcibly disarm Hizballah have been met with alarm by the army command.

One defense analyst said that, in the south, the army often acted as a subordinate to Hizballah’s military apparatus. “All intelligence gathered by the army is put at the disposal of Hizballah, but Hizballah does not offer the same transparency to the army,” he said. “In a sense, military intelligence in the south is operating on Hizballah’s behalf.”

Iran and Syria will get Weapons in by Land,

by Sea, and by Air!

It is apparent how important Israel considers it to be for replacements and new types of weapons from Iran and Syria not to make it back into the hands of Hizbollah. No matter how hard Israel tries to keep them out, they will fail. The only question is too what degree can they slow down the flow? I believe weapons will be restored to previous levels by 2008, and thereafter exceed

the old inventory

in high tech components. My guesstimate is that, at some point in time between 2008 and 2012, Hizbollah will once again lure Israel into southern Lebanon, a Jihad will be launched against Zion, and Israel will find herself driven into the Negev Wilderness as a consequence.

Israel Attacks, Rejects Lebanese and UN Claims

PM Olmert’s office staffer says Israel’s raid in Lebanon yesterday was not a violation of the ceasefire, but rather the required response to Hizbullah’s ongoing violations of the ceasefire.

“The operation was necessary,” the official in the Prime Minister’s Office, said, “because Hizbullah is violating the ceasefire by smuggling in war materiel from Syria and Iran. It was a necessary operation, and it is good that we did it.”

The weekend operation involved two Hummer jeeps that were helicoptered in to the Baalbek region of southern Lebanon, not far from the Syrian border. The Hummers were used to attack a school building used to store weapons brought in from Syria.

The building also served as a hideout for Hizbullah terrorists. IDF officer Lt.-Col. (ret.) Emanuel Moreno, 35, of the religious moshav Tlamim in the Negev, was killed in the operation, and two soldiers were wounded, including one in serious condition. Three Hizbullah men were killed.

The IDF announced afterwards, “The purpose of the operation was to prevent and interfere with the transfer of arms from Syria and Iran to Hizbullah… The objectives were achieved in full.”

“Hizbullah cannot complain when we take action to stop them from smuggling weapons, in violation of the ceasefire,” the aide said.

Hizbullah is not adhering to the ceasefire in other ways as well. There were several incidents this past week in which they fired at IDF soldiers.”

Lebanese Defense Minister Alias Al-Mor threatened, following the Israeli attack, that his country would stop deploying its forces in the southern region. He demanded that the UN make its position clear on Israel’s action. UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan has already gone on record as saying that it was Israel that violated the ceasefire.

The killed officer, Lt.-Col. Moreno, was buried at 2 AM Sunday morning at Mt.

Herzl Military Cemetery in Jerusalem.

DEBKAfile Reports: Turkey forces one Syrian, 5 Iranian arms planes to land at Diyarbakir military base

Six Iranian ILDT type 4-cargo planes and a Syrian aircraft were forced to land at the southeast Turkish military airport

last Thursday after US spy satellites spotted they were loaded with missiles, missile launchers and eight boxes of Chinese made C-802 missiles, dubbed by Iran “Nur.”

DEBKAfile’s military sources disclose: The flights were bound for Damascus and Syrian military air bases just across the Turkish border.

The C-802 is the advanced ground-ship missile which crippled the Israeli Navy’s gunship off Beirut, and killed three of its crew on July 14, two days after the outbreak of the Lebanon war. Searches by the Turkish authorities disclosed that one of the planes was carrying crates of Fajer rockets which Hizballah fired at Israeli towns.

Two of the Iranian cargo planes have not been permitted to take off from Turkey unless they fly back to Iran.

Four flights, carrying light ammunition including anti-tank weapons, were allowed to complete their journey to Syria after their pilots presented documents proving they were purchased in Iran for the Syrian army.

DEBKAfile adds: This is the first time American military satellites have been openly revealed to have aided in the UN embargo against arms transfers from Syria and Iran to the Hizballah.

DEBKAfile’s military sources also disclose that the Iranian and Syrian cargo flights were bound for three Syrian military airfields, two of which were transferred at the end of July to the control and supervision of the air wing of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards. The flight carrying the C-802 missile was destined for the military section of Damascus’ Mezze international airport. The launchers and Fajer rockets would have been unloaded at Syria’s Nasiriya air base, 40 km from the Lebanese border.

The anti-tank rockets and ammunition were bound for al Qusayr, north of Damascus and only 25 km from Lebanon’s northern Beqaa Valley.

Senior IDF officers: Hezbollah hostilities liable to restart soon

Members of the Israel Defense Forces General Staff say that “round two” between Israel and Hezbollah could begin within months

or even weeks, probably over the renewal of arms deliveries to the organization from Iran and Syria.

One senior officer told Haaretz on Sunday that throughout the month-long war with Hezbollah, Iran and Syria attempted to smuggle large quantities of weapons to Lebanon. He said that the efforts were stepped up over the past week, following the cease-fire and the end of Israel Air Force sorties deep in Lebanese territory.

The officer noted that while UN Security Council Resolution 1701 calls for an embargo on arms shipments to Hezbollah, no mechanism has been put in place to enforce this embargo, and said that Israel will have to intervene if the deliveries continue unchecked.

Specifically, the military source said, Israel will be forced to carry out aerial assaults on trucks traveling from Syria to Lebanon if they can be determined to contain arms shipments. Otherwise, he said, Hezbollah would renew long-range rocket attacks on Israel within a matter of months.

“If we know that a truck is carrying arms, we’ll strike,” he said. “There is simply no alternative.”

He confirmed that the IDF was aware that such action could lead to new Katyusha attacks on communities in northern Israel.

“We presented this assessment to the government, too,” he said.

The army hopes that an enforcement mechanism can be activated within a few weeks to reduce the likelihood of weapons making their way into southern Lebanon.

Despite Hezbollah’s refusal to give up its arms, IDF officers believe that Resolution 1701 can be implemented, at least partially. In some parts of south Lebanon, the organization has instructed its militants not to appear in public with weapons.

IDF officers pointed with satisfaction to the fact that the new resolution places responsibility for events in southern Lebanon squarely at the feet of the Beirut government, and also creates international obligations toward Israel.

Thousands of Israeli soldiers remain in southern Lebanon. Five brigades of the regular army are deployed on the ground, though at somewhat below their full strength.

The eastern sector has been evacuated, with the exception of the Hamamis hill, near Metula.

A Lebanese Army brigade has already set up headquarters near Marjayoun, in an area that was used by the Lebanese gendarmerie before the war. The IDF’s Nahal Brigade controls the Taibeh area, Armored Corps Brigade 188 has the area south of Nahal, Armored Corps Brigade 7 has claimed the Maroun al-Ras area, the Golani Brigade is deployed north of Bint Jbail and the Paratroops is in control of the western sector.

If the deployment of the Lebanese Army goes according to schedule, IDF officers believe that the Israeli forces can be withdrawn to within a kilometer or two of the northern border in ten days or so.

Great Preparation in Southern Lebanon for a War with Israel Alone!

I have never believed that the United States would commit troops to the soon coming war between Israel and 10 Islamic Nations. By the time 2008 is in full swing, all the American troops will be out of Iraq, and any desire to recommit them

to a war in Israel will be subdued by political expedience, national interest, a weariness with war, and public opinion. In the next war both the United States and Israel will believe Israel can win it without our help, as she has proven in all her previous wars with the Arab Nations, but this time they will be wrong. By the time the U.S. recognizes this, it will be too late to intervene.

The following article from Arutz Sheva, Israel News Service, is the best I have read on the highly confused situation left in the wake of a weak Resolution 1701, which none of the parties involved ever had any real intension of putting into effect. The outcome of all the shortcomings in the article will result in a larger force of Israel haters across Israel’s northern border in 2008. They will be better trained, better equipped, and more determined to drive Israel out of the land the Bible identifies as Israel, that is, The Land from Dan to Beersheba. My guesstimate is that they will launch an attack at some point in time between 2008 and 2012, and I believe it will be successful.

Cracks In UN Plan Expose Israel

Offers by anti-Israel countries to patrol Lebanon, Hizbullah’s welcoming of Lebanese troops and the abandonment of vows to disarm the terrorist group leave Hizbullah stronger and Israel weaker.

Any hopes that the United Nations Security Council ceasefire resolution ending the hostilities between Hizbullah terrorists and Israel would make Israel safer continue to dissipate. “Villagers throwing rice and Hizbullah supporters holding banners welcomed the [Lebanese] army to south Lebanon,” according to the Associated Press.

For the first time in three decades, Lebanese Army troops neared the Israeli border this morning [Friday], as they cont inue to deploy

in southern Lebanon.

However, the commander of the Lebanese forces said that his soldiers would not take over a particular village near the border until the heavily war-damaged fence is repaired and the IDF soldiers leave the area.

At the same time, the Hizbullah presence does not seem to be noticeably weaker.

At the village of Kila, several hundred yards from the Israeli border, Hizbullah supporters waved their flags, and terrorists made it a point to symbollically attack the United States and Israel during funeral processions in southern Lebanon.

In one village, residents scorned U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. “You will not see your new Middle East,” said one sign addressed to Rice.

Further complications for Israel are the almost across-the-board abandonment of the UN resolution’ s intention of di

sarming Hizbullah south of the Litani River.

According to a Lebanese cabinet decision, Hizbullah will not disarm in southern Lebanon, but its members will refrain from carrying weapons in public. Pro-Syrian Lebanese President Emile Lahoud clearly defined the Lebanese intentions.

“The weapons of the resistance are the only ones, of all Arabs, that succeeded in standing up to Israel and defeating it. No one can take away the weapons of the resistance,” he told the cabinet.

Israel has criticized the violation and complained about the failure to bring about the return of two IDF soldiers kidnapped by Hizbullah terrorists.

But beyond statements, Israel seems powerless to stop what some feel is shaping up as a charade.

“I would say the show is on the road,” said UN Deputy Secretary-General Mark Malloch Brown.

France and Germany Make Way for Muslim Nations

France disappointed the U.N. with its surprise announcement that it is sending only 200 troops instead of the thousands that were anticipated. The absence of the French and the refusal of Germany to place its soldiers in a situation of direct confrontation leaves Muslim nations with a larger percentage of the proposed force.

Indonesia and Malaysia each have offered to send 1,000 troops. Neither country has diplomatic ties with Israel, and Malaysia as recently as last week encouraged the world to cut off diplomatic ties with Jerusalem. Israel has objected to the placement of troops from countries with which it does not have diplomatic relations.

Turkey has offered to send 5,000 men, more than any other country. However, Turkey also has been a major transit point for Hizbullah terrorist weapons, according to Israeli intelligence and comments made at an American State Department briefing Thursday.

Italy has proposed sending between 2,000 and 3,000 soldiers, but has also made statements indicating sympathy for Hizbullah. A government minister termed the terrorists’ kidnapping of IDF soldiers a “military action,” and the government emphasized it would not try to disarm Hizbullah.

Prime Minister Romano Prodi told an Italian news service, “The fact that it won’t be Italy who will disarm Hizbullah militia seems to me to be a moot point, also because I don’t think the attempt would be productive.”

Morocco, which has ties with Israel and has a growing militant Muslim population, has offered to send 1,500-2,000 troops. Like many other nations, it wants a clearer definition from the UN of what is expected of the soldiers and when they are to open fire.

Little Experience

One of the major problems with the UN force that is shaping up is its lack of experience which, accompanied with the presence of a poorly-trained Lebanese army, leaves the area free for Hizbullah to mobilize. Israel already has committed itself to leave southern Lebanon once the UN force is in place.

Brown admitted, “We have [the force] in quantitative terms, but the issue is which battalions we can get

there in the timeline required. Are they the right battalions with the right skills and equipment?”

He also explained that the international force would not try to disarm the terrorists, because of the agreement between Hizbullah and the Lebanese government. The force is to join the 2,000-member UNIFIL, unit which has proven to be ineffective – and some say pro-Hizbullah – since its introduction to the area in 1978.

U.S. Secretary of State Rice also has backed down from her previous insistence that Hizbullah cease to be “a state within a state,” and that Israel’s situation be improved over its pre-war condition. “I don’t think there is an expectation that this force is going to physically disarm Hizbullah,” she told USA Today. “I think it’s a little bit of a misreading about how you disarm a militia. You have to have a plan, first of all, for the disarmament of the militia, and then the hope is that some people lay down their arms voluntarily.”

Hizbullah terrorist leaders have made it clear they will keep their weapons, and its terrorists have vowed to continue their war against Israel.

Hizbullah official Sheikh Mohammed Yazbik said, “We will preserve the resistance. We won’t give up our weapons, our dignity and our honor.”

One man, Mohamed Ballout, told Reuters, he is “ashamed that my son was not martyred.”

Hizbullah has gathered the support of more than 600,000 Shi’ite Muslims in the area and has built weapons and command centers in the last six years, after then-Prime Minister Ehud Olmert Barak ordered a sudden unilateral withdrawal of IDF troops in May 2000.

Even a senior American official expressed pessimism about the future. “Our history in Lebanon has not been a happy one,” lamented Assistant Secretary of State David Welch.

PROPHECY UPDATE NUMBER 71A

WHEN ISRAEL IS SUDDENLY VISIOUSLY ATTACKED IN A SURPRISE LIGHTNING JIHAD BLITZKRIEG FROM ITS NORTH, WHY DOESN’T THE U.S. ATTACK THE ISLAMIC GROUP OF NATIONS THAT ARE ATTACKING HER?

This is a question I have been asked over and over again for a long time. I was asked again on e-mail recently, and this time, rather than answering the query privately, I decided to make it a prophecy update, so that that in future I could just attach this update to any new query and save myself repeating it again.

The one thing that I learned in the National Security Agency which has been, is, and always will be the motivating factor in any decision made by any country, including the United States, may be simply stated in two words: NATIONAL INTEREST. Many will cry out and say, not so, we did it for humanitarian reasons, we did it to secure justice, we did it out of compassion, we did it out of love, we did it because we love freedom, we did it because we are a great nation: and on and on shall come statements from every realm of society, from “bleeding” liberal hearts to the “hardened” hearts of the extreme right, all giving different reasons as to why this country did something. But the truth of

the matter is that, in the end, we always did it for what amounted to NATIONAL INTEREST.

The United States has quick response attack naval and marine forces in position at all times to put down a banana republic type of minor conflict on short notice. But in order to conduct a successful operation again a Jihad the magnitude of the coming attack of many nations against Israel, we would require some time to get enough regular ground troops in place to have a real hope of victory. It took us a very long time to get enough men and equipment into the Middle East to insure success in our victory against Iraq. The Scriptures indicate that 10 Islamic nations will be led by the Antichrist, and that they will quickly take Jerusalem and drive Israel into the Negev. When Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Iran come pouring southward on both sides of the Samarian mountains, and the Palestinians break out in all directions internally from within the enclosed buffer zone, chaos will reign supreme from Dan to Beersheva. There will be so much inner mingling of the attack forces of Israel and those of the enemy with the fleeing civilian population that air strikes would kill as many on one side as the other. Since the U.S. is fully aware of the Israel War Contingency Plan to evacuate as much of the population as possible to the Negev if overrun from the north, it will set in shock and indecision until it is too late to do anything except help to evacuate some of the coastal population from Tel Aviv to Haifa into the Negev, and to air lift supplies into the Negev.

The aircraft of the Islamic nations will be under orders not to fire on western power’s aircraft unless fired upon, because the one thing they will not want is for the U.S. to get actively engaged with them in an all out war. Once Israel has evacuated as much of its population into the Negev as possible, and the U.S. sees that the Arabs are not going past Beersheva, we will accept the status quo as best for all. Why? Because it will satisfy our NATIONAL INTEREST! How? Israel will be safe and we will still be able to receive Arab Oil shipments.

Revelation 12:5,6 – And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all NATIONS with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. [6] And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that THEY should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

NATIONS in verse 5 is the precedent to THEY in verse 6. This is the beginning of the final 1260 days that lead up to the final battle of Armageddon, and at this time only 10 Arab nations are involved, so nations such as the U.S., Great Britain, Australia, and Canada will air lift all sorts of supplies into the Negev for Israel, and the Arab nations won’t do a thing to stop it because they will not want to be involved in a world war at this time.

Revelation 12:14 – And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

Seventy percent of the total Jewish population of Israel exists in the narrow coastal strip from Tel Aviv to Haifa. The western powers (symbolized as uncircumcised Philistines) will air lift many from this area into the Negev, flying first toward the west over the Mediterranean, then southeast over the Sinai into the Negev. After 1260 days Israel will storm north, northeast, and east out of the Negev, driving deep into Syria, and across all of Jordan to the Euphrates River, and will thus claim the Abrahamic Land Grant given to Abraham. (See Prophecy Update Number 67)

Isaiah 11:14 – But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them. (See Prophecy Update Number 71)

Micah 5:6 – And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders. (See Prophecy Update Number 67)

Down through the last 200 years we have built up a picture of an antichrist who rises slowly to power over a moderate period of time, then signs a peace treaty that lasts for 3 and ½ years, only to break it at that time to start the final 1260 days of the tribulation period.

I agree that he attacks Israel to begin the final 1260 days of the tribulation period, but am persuaded what is pictured before the attack is largely manufactured on misinterpretation of Daniel 9:27, an error of early 1800.

The rise of antichrist will be quick, as will be the events that follow his appearance. So I am saying that whenever he comes on the scene it will not be a long, drawn out affair from his appearance until his demise. In Prophecy Updates Numbers 55, 56, 57, and 58 I outlined the view that was held by most theologians before 1830, which is the belief I hold today.

In Chapter 38 of Ezekiel, in verses 2 through 6, it identifies the groupings of those peoples who will initially attack Israel from the north. But in verse 13 it identifies groupings of peoples that will not attack Israel at this time.

Ezekiel 38:13 – Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?

The closest thing to which I can relate their two questions in today’s modern vernacular is what we would identify as being a “diplomatic protest.”

You may check all reference sources available today as to the location of the descendants of Sheba and Dedan in 600 B.C., when this prophecy was written, and you will find they are almost unanimous that it represents modern day Saudi Arabia. I believe Saudi Arabia will be as surprised

as the United States when Israel is attacked. I also believe Egypt, who is attacked by the antichrist after he drives Israel into the Negev, will also be shocked by his attack on Israel, and then on themselves.

Daniel 11:42 – He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

The descendants of Tarshish were sea faring men. According to most historians they first established colonies along the coasts of the Mediterranean, then along the coasts of western and northern France, and finally along the coasts of Denmark and Sweden. As such they could represent what we call Europe, and all the western nations, which were established out of European nations, could be “the young lions thereof.”

So I expect the only part that the United States will play in this war will be to violently diplomatically protest, protest, protest, and then protest some more. I believe we will air lift many into the Negev to satisfy our NATIONAL INTEREST vested in our large Jewish population, and will continue to air lift all sorts of supplies into them for a long time. I believe we will not attack in order to prevent a massive outcry of American motherhood in a fantastic body bag count, which is not in the NATIONAL INTEREST, and the loss of Arab oil would most assuredly not be in our NATIONAL INTEREST.

One day, when I kept banishing around this term we identified as NATIONAL INTEREST in the agency, I was asked “Would you define NATIONAL INTEREST.” Now, this is NOT the agency definition, it is mine!

NATIONAL INTEREST IS WHAT WILL ALLOW A PARTY TO STAY IN OFFICE OR TO GET IN OFFICE. IT WAS NOT THAT WAY IN THE BEGINNING, BUT THAT’S THE WAY IT IS NOW, AND IT WILL STAY THAT WAY UNTIL JESUS RETURNS.

The Lebanese Army is moving south through the DMZ to the Israeli border, w ith

no intent of ever disarming Hizbollah. The United States government is trying to prop up a Lebanese leader that is pro-Syrian. And Iran has opened its treasure chest to Hizbollah so they may pay compensation to those Lebanese whose properties were destroyed by the little devil Israel using big devil American bombs.

I suspect by the time 2008 rolls in we won’t just have Hizbollah hating us, it will be the vast majority of the Lebanese population as well.

For years I have listened to politicians saying, “We should strengthen the moderate elements in the Islamic countries that hate us, and let them defeat the radical elements.” Did the moderates overthrow

the Kaiser? Did moderates overthrow Hitle

r? How many countries can you name in history producing wars that were taken over by moderates that were able to stop the wars? It is always the extremists that start the wars, and the moderates and liberals join ranks with them to fight in a war as being loyal to their religion and /or country.

Make no mistake about it – the radical Islamic extremists are going to start the coming last horrific war on this planet. And make no mistake about it – the moderate and liberal Muslims will fight alongside

them for the cause of Allah. To a radical, moderate, or liberal Muslim, we are all a bunch of unbelievers, infidels, and killing us in a battle they perceive to be against their God Allah and his Prophet Muhammad, will add to their reward in the Islamic heaven.

Lebanese Patrol reaches Israeli Border

The Lebanese army reached the Israeli border for the first time Friday since a cease-fire went into effect on Monday morning.

On Thursday, thousands of Lebanese troops moved into southern Lebanon, backed up by tanks and other armored vehicles, amid warnings by high-ranking IDF officers that Israel will resume its offensive against Hizbullah if Lebanon does not succeed in preventing it from rearming.

“We will not let Hizbullah return to its original strength,” one officer told The Jerusalem Post. “And if that means taking action and resuming our military offensive, then we will.”

The deployment of the Lebanese army – a key provision of

the UN-brokered cease-fire plan that ended fighting between Israel and Hizbullah – marked a first step toward extending government control in a region Beirut has largely avoided for four decades. However, if the Lebanese army did not do the job it was tasked with, Israel would do it instead, the officer said.

Armed Hizbullah guerrillas have already begun reappearing in villages along the northern border from which Israel withdrew.

“We expect Lebanon to uphold its side of the agreement,” the officer said. “We hope that we won’t have to go back into Lebanon, but if the need arises we will not hesitate to do so.”

Lebanese troops took up positions in some 30 villages, including Bint Jbail, the scene of some of the heaviest fighting during the war, which ended Monday morning with a cease-fire.

The Lebanese deployment was based on an agreement between Israel and UNIFIL, which also plans to complete the deployment of its new international force by the end of next week.

All of the IDF’s reservists have left Lebanon. Infantry brigades backed up by the Armored Corps are holding a line along the security zone Israel maintained during its 18-year presence in Lebanon, which ended in 2000.

Three Lebanese brigades were to deploy in southern Lebanon where they would be joined by 15,000 new UN observers.

Israel, the officer said, was upholding the cease-fire even at the cost of having to restrain troops in Lebanon from striking at Hizbullah targets. “We want to give the cease-fire and the Lebanese army a chance to take control of what is going on inside southern Lebanon,” he said.

Meanwhile, senior IDF officers dismissed claims by Defense Minister Amir Peretz that the IDF had not accurately evaluated the threat Hizbullah posed.

“The IDF was not surprised by the incessant rocket attacks, since we knew for years what Hizbullah was capable of,” an officer in Northern Command said. “We knew about the threat, and we warned the diplomatic echelon about it.”

Beirut’s international airport reopened to commercial traffic for the first time since July 13, when it was attacked by the IAF. A Middle East Airlines passenger jet touched down from Amman, ending a 36-day Israeli blockade, and a Royal Jordanian flight followed soon after.

The IDF said it was coordinating the arrivals, but said it was a one-time affair and warned that it did not constitute an end to the air blockade.

DEBKAfile Exclusive: Bush administration acts fast to bring France aboard the Lebanon multinational force, gives Israel tacit go-ahead for air strikes against arms trucks from Syria

Washington took two quiet steps to prop up the Siniora government and retrieve the vanishing multinational force ordered by Resolution 1701.

The first was the promise of an air surveillance wing for UNIFIL to keep a watch over South Lebanon and the border crossings into Syria.

This has brought France around to consenting to send troops to the expanded international force. UNIFIL was also promised intelligence data gathered by US satellites on military movements in Lebanon. Some 1,700 French troops will be deployed in the first stage. This promise led French defense minister Michele Alliot-Marie to announce Wednesday night that France is willing to lead a new UN presence in Lebanon at least until February, so long as it has a clear mandate, real means and strong powers.

The second step taken by the Bush administration was a quiet go-ahead given by US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice to Israel’s Dep. PM Shimon Peres for the Israeli air force to destroy trucks suspected of carrying rockets and other arms from Syria into Lebanon.

Siniora agreed to turn a blind eye to this continuing Israeli air activity over Lebanon as he has for Hizballah’s continued armed presence south of the Litani River. The first elements of the Lebanese army’s 2nd 3rd and 12th Battalions crossed the Qasmiyeh Bridge over the Litani into South Lebanon before midnight Wednesday, August 16.

France has given itself six months to test how the web of undercover accords and understandings between the US and Israel and the Lebanese government and Hizballah are holding up.

Only then will Paris decide whether to extend the mandate of its contingent in Lebanon or even boost it.

Hizbullah hands out Compensation

At a school in south Beirut’s Bourj el-Barajneh neighborhood, Hizbullah on Friday started handing out one hundred dollar bills to residents who lost their homes in the Israel-Hizbullah conflict – US$12,000 to each claimant.

Applicants who had signed up for the aid earlier in the week showed up at the school, showed identification papers and only had to sign a receipt. Hizbullah workers handed residents stacks of bills from a suitcase.

Hizbullah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, in a television speech on Monday shortly after the cease-fire with Israel took hold, pledged to help rebuild Lebanon and said the organization would provide money for civilians who had lost their homes to pay rent and buy furniture.

Nasrallah did not say where the money would come from, but Iran historically has been the group’s primary source of finance and weapons. The Iranians were widely believed to have opened their treasury for the rebuilding program.

Nasrallah, and the government’s Higher Relief Council which deals with catastrophic events, said 15,000 housing units were hit during the war.

Hundreds of residents of the southern suburbs, known as Dahiyeh, turned out at makeshift registration centers on Wednesday and Thursday to sign up for the aid.

As of Thursday afternoon, they began collecting. Hizbullah members called people by phone to come and collect their money.

At the Shahed school, pictures of Nasrallah and those of Iranian leaders, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the late Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, adorned the walls of one classroom along with one poster of a Star of David broken in half. The words “Congratulations on the victory” were printed on Khamenei’s picture.

A Hizbullah official said a total of 900 people had been compensated so far, adding that he expected thousands to come forth in the next few days.

There were some complaints from those whose homes

were demolished that the money is not sufficient.

Of the US$12,000, some US$4,000 was to pay for rent one year to those whose apartments were completely devastated, and US$8,000 was for furniture.

That money may not be enough for those who own apartments, but for those who lived in rent-controlled apartment, it could be fair compensation.

In one instance, a couple of beneficiaries showed up to return some of the money after one official had mistakenly handed over US$120,000 in cash to an applicant, instead of the US$12,000. Those who had taken the big payment were asked to return it when the error was discovered.
