The Operational Pattern that the Israeli Defense Forces will be using right up to the time of false peace in Israel is now coming into place.

It has begun as ‘Operation First Rain’ and, simply put, amounts to “You hit us” – We hit you back harder than you hit us! We will hit you from the air by the IAF and, if necessary, we will launch IDF ground troop probes of short duration into your populated areas.

The extract which follows is the last half of an article by Herb Keinon, Ariel O’Sullivan, and Yaakov Katz, THE JERUSALEM POST.

Just as the Israelis indicated in previous BLOGS, they will retaliate eye for eye, and tooth for tooth against the terrorists as they continue to build the security barrier around the West Bank. The continuous operation of retaliation is the only way to make the Palestinians consider halting the rocket launches.

A “forced” peace will bring in what amounts to what we indicated would be the Biblical “false” peace some five years ago in our first Prophecy Update Number 1, as we stated: “Eventually there will be some form of peace between the Palestinians and Israel. It may be a “forced” peace, but the end result will be an enclosed Palestinian State within the borders of Israel. This will create an impossible situation for Israel.

There is no worse military position than to have an enemy within while being attacked from without.”

IDF OPERATING UNDER ‘NO RESTRICTIONS’

Speaking to the cabinet earlier Sunday,

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz warned that the IDF would engage in sustained action and spare no means in redoubling its efforts

to bring an end to the Kassam attacks on the western Negev.

“There are no restrictions on the use of any measures in order to strike at the terrorists, their equipment and where they find shelter,” Sharon said at the opening of Sunday’s cabinet meeting. “The instructions are unequivocal; we do not mean a one-time action here.”

The rocket attacks on Sderot “must be stopped,” said Sharon. “It cannot continue under any circumstances.”

Sharon said that the IDF actions of the last 24 hours were not “a short-term action, but a policy that must lead to the cessation of the terrorist organizations’ actions against Israeli communities. I am certain that it is within our ability to halt the terrorist organizations’ actions against us. The activity will not only be in Gaza but will also be against terrorism in Judea and Samaria.”

He said the only limitation on the IDF was its “regular objective” of “not hitting civilians.”

Mofaz told cabinet ministers that he directed the IDF to implement a deterrence policy that “will extract a price tag for attacks on Israeli citizens.”

He warned that the IDF would carry out a series of continuous actions “in the air and on the ground” against Hamas and Islamic Jihad, including targeted assassinations against all levels of the organizations.

He said that messages were passed through American and Egyptian intermediaries warning Palestinian civilians not to enter fields from where Kassam rockets had been launched because those areas would come under Israeli attack.

The defense minister said he gave the IDF the green light to use all means at the IDF’s disposal, including artillery fire, to create a buffer zone in areas such as the northern Gaza Strip from where the Kassam rockets were fired.

Meanwhile Sunday, police kept up their level of high alert across

the country out of fear Palestinian terror groups would renew suicide bombings in Israeli cities following the violent events over the weekend.

With the security fence mostly complete around the West Bank, police noted Sunday that most of their work would be in the area surrounding the southern Hebron hills and around Jerusalem.

Police set up roadblocks in the south and combed the nearby fields for Palestinians who had illegally entered Israel.

Earlier, Jihad Islami commander Sheikh Muhammed Khalil and his bodyguard were killed from an Israeli helicopter. On Sept 4, jehidist terror group leader was revealed in public for the first time. Khalil was behind the explosion that killed four members of the Hatuel family, a mother and four daughters, from Katif,

and blowing up an Israeli armored car,killing five soldiers on the Philadelphi route.

Both attacks were perpetrated in 2004.

The Israel Air Force continued Monday to strike at terrorist infrastructure in the Gaza Strip despite the near cessation of rocket and mortar attacks and a pledge by Hamas to cease Kassam attacks.

“We don’t relate to Hamas mutterings and are judging everything according to reality on the ground,” said deputy Defense Minister Ze’ev Boim. “We will hit Hamas and other organizations in Gaza and not just once so they understand that the rules of the game have changed.”

Boim told Army Radio that the continuing IDF strikes were aimed at “searing into their conscience” that Israel was determined to create deterrence.
“If we have to, we’ll turn the screws even tighter,” Boim said.

I will never forget wading in water up to my armpits in the tempest of rainstorms like this in Vietnam while watching jeeps disappear in front of me.

To predict what will happen in Knesset power struggles, or which party will be

in office, or who will head it, is like guessing how many jelly beans there are in a 10 gallon transparent glass container. I stick to the goals parties and their leaders

have in common. Regardless of how the current struggle turns out between Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Binyamin Netanyahu, or when elections are held, or which party ends up in power, THE SECURITY BARRIER WILL BE COMPLETED, AND THE PALESTINIANS, WITH THEIR ASSOCIATED TERROR GROUPS AND ELEMENTS, WILL END UP ENCLOSED BY IT.

The only question is who would be the most, or last, forceful in retaliating against them for any acts of terror, before and after the security barrier is completed.

I would rate Netanyahu as Attila the Hun, Sharon as the Emperor Napoleon, and Shimon Peres as Mother Goose.

I like all three of them, but would prefer to see Netanyahu or Sharon as Israeli Prime Minister.

Netanyahu Pushes Impeachment of PM

As the Likud prepares for the big confrontation Monday evening between Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and party leader hopeful Binyamin Netanyahu, MKs both in and out of the Likud have been determining their allegiance. Israel Radio reported that Netanyahu has been meeting with Knesset members in an attempt to get together a blocking body of 61 representatives to impeach the prime minister in the event that Sharon decides to leave the Likud or dissolve the Knesset.

Netanyahu met both Likud and non-Likud parliamentarians over the last few days for the purpose of gathering the required majority. Among these were Shinui’s Eliezer S andberg

and former Shinui member Yosef Paritzki.

Paritzki described the meeting: ‘What we discussed is that if a no-confidence vote will be held, would I vote in favor or against it? I stated explicitly that I would vote no-confidence for the purpose of bringing down the government headed by Ariel Sharon. Within the family we try to help each other, just like any good family.’

Sources close to Netanyahu responded that bringing down the government was not discussed in the meetings, but rather, only the course of action to be taken should Sharon attempt to dissolve the Knesset.

According to Israel Radio, Sandberg asserted that his “meeting with Netanyahu was incidental, and that Shinui prefers bringing down the government over replacing prime ministers within the Likud.”

While formally, the issue at stake is whether the Likud primaries should be held in April as planned, or rescheduled for November, but within the party, and in the entire political realm, the debate is seen as a battle between Sharon and Netanyahu.

This view was confirmed by Likud MK Michael Eitan, who said the only way to see the upcoming vote was as a fight between Sharon and Netanyahu.

In the meantime, Likud members continued to verbally attack the competing leaders.

This morning the prime minister lashed out: ‘Whoever wishes to commit suicide should go with Bibi.’ His son, Omri, continued: ‘The country will become Bibistan.’

Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin told the Post that

the Likud would have to make some tough choices in the coming days.

Until Sharon spoke at the UN earlier this month, Rivlin said, it was unclear whether the disengagement was a first or last step for the prime minister. His words showed that he was determined to push forward with concessions.
‘They [Likud members] are very much afraid,’ he said.”

“Katie Barring the Door” on Gaza Strip Wild Asses!

As I indicated in our BLOG of September 22, titled “Wildest Jackasses Taking Over Gaza Strip,” from which the following paragraph was taken, the Israelis are not going to play around with the terrorist groups when they launch a major number of rockets, or any other major act of terror that injures their people.

Rest assured that the boldness of Hamas leaders and followers coming out into the open, is much to Israel’s joy, and that a complete file of all of the new members is being complied. Israel has had one primary goal in mind for some three years – Finish the security barrier and get the terrorists behind it!

Unless the Hamas gets bold enough to raise levels of terror attacks to an unacceptable level, the Israelis will let them jump, scream, shoot in the air, lift their tails in the air, make all kinds of threats, and even launch a few Kassams.

But if they, or any of the new terror organizations that slipped in last week across the Sinai border, were to pull off a major act of terror against Israelis, then Katie, bar the door.

And, even though the Palestinian Authority’s Fatah would surely scream bloody murder, in reality it might please them to get rid of some of their rival Hamas and Islamic Jihad terror competitors.

The Israelis are determined to finish the Security Barrier and, while they are doing so, they will hit terrorist activity launched against them with the appropriate response. After the wall is finished, they will not stop their response to terror activities, but will deliver punishment to those inside the barrier for terrorist attacks.

Unfortunately, this is the only program that can get the attention of the terror groups and the general Palestinian population.

Terrorists groups didn’t launch a FEW Kassams – they launched 29.

4 Hamas Members Killed, DM Threatens Ground Operation

The IDF has confirmed to The Jerusalem Post that it was responsible for the air strike that killed four Hamas operatives in the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City in the Gaza Strip Saturday, just before four p.m. Israel time.

The attack was the third air strike since Israel stepped up its operations against Hamas and Islamic Jihad cells which were responsible for the barrage of 29 Kassam rockets on western Negev communities over the weekend.

The operatives were killed when the two cars in which they

were traveling exploded.

Witnesses reported seeing IDF aircraft fire missiles at the vehicles.

A few people standing nearby were wounded from the explosion, Army Radio reported.

Earlier Saturday, the IAF launched missile strikes near Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, hitting a number of Kassam launch-sites, the army said.

In response to the salvo of Kassam rockets, Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz had instructed the Israel Air Force on Saturday to go on the offensive, targeting Hamas and Islamic Jihad infrastructure in the Gaza Strip and West Bank.

Mofaz gave the order after an emergency meeting Saturday morning with IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Dan Halutz, head of the Shin Bet security service, Yuval Diskin, and other security chiefs, which was convened in order to weigh Israel’s response to the 29 Kassam rockets which were fired at Israeli border communities overnight.

Hamas claimed the attacks were in retaliation for the explosion of a truck carrying Kassam rockets during a Friday night rally of Hamas in the Jebaliya refugee camp that killed 17.

While Hamas blamed the blast on Israel, the IDF strenuously denied any involvement. The Palestinian Authority likewise held Hamas responsible for the explosion in a statement declaring that Hamas operatives had apparently mishandled the explosives. The PA used the opportunity to renew demands that armed groups stop flaunting their weapons in public.

The Palestinian Interior Ministry called on Hamas “to shoulder its responsibility for these … explosions, instead of making accusations against others.”

Meanwhile, Prime Minster Ariel Sharon will convene his Security Cabinet later Saturday in response to the first major rocket barrage from Gaza since Israel’s withdrawal from the coastal territory, his office said. The Security Cabinet is usually asked to approve an Israeli military response, and a meeting set for Saturday evening suggested a sense of urgency.

In a first response Saturday, Israel fired missiles at three suspected Hamas weapons workshops in Gaza and sealed the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The buildings were located in the Jebaliya refugee camp, the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City and downtown Gaza City.

Declaring an all-out war on Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist infrastructure, Mofaz ordered Air Force operations to continue in the Gaza Strip and West Bank.

Mofaz also ordered the army to concentrate forces opposite the northern Gaza security fence, to be prepared to launch ground operations in the event that the situation deteriorated further.

At the same time, the defense minister demanded that the Palestinian Authority deploy its security forces in the northern Gaza area to prevent terror cells from perpetrating attacks against Israel.

Mofaz said attempts by Hamas to blame Israel for Friday night’s explosion and use it as excuse to attack Israel was “insufferable and unacceptable.”

Earlier Saturday, the IDF issued a statement saying that it held

the Palestinian Authority responsible for maintaining order in the Gaza Strip and preventing attacks on Israel.

“The IDF will continue to act decisively

to defend the citizens of the state. It holds the security forces of the Palestinian Authority responsible for ceasing and preventing all terror strikes from the Gaza Strip,” according to a statement by an IDF spokesman.

Israel had absolutely nothing to do with the large explosion of a truck carrying Kassam rockets last Friday.

Wild jackasses are not noted for their technological abilities or carefulness of character in being able to handle

their own teeth and hoofs, sometimes biting and kicking other wild asses when excited.

This is what happened last Friday.

At the time of the issuance of this BLOG some 29 rockets had been sent against Israel by the terrorists. I assure you if they continue to launch after this first IAF strike, that Israel will launch a new named operation which will be continuous until the launches of Kassam cease. Air strikes will take the lives of more and more terrorists with the launching of each new salvo. Terror is going be answered by terror from the air until the rockets cease to fly, and if they increase passed a certain level, the IDF will launch incursions into the Gaza Strip in search and destroy operations.

The following extract, from an article published by Patrick Driscoll in USA TODAY, was posted more than four months ago in May, and is very interesting.

The article was titled “Forecasters Predict Big Season for Hurricanes.”

“Their official outlook is for 12 to 15 tropical storms, seven to nine of them becoming hurricanes. Three to five could be major hurricanes, with winds of at least 111 mph.

The annual forecast comes as Florida continues to rebuild after four hurricanes crisscrossed the state last year, killing dozens of people and causing billions of dollars in damage.

Six hurricanes struck the U.S. mainland last year.

They were blamed for 60 immediate deaths and at least 94 other fatalities. The storms also left $45 billion in damage, the costliest year ever.

“One of the things that made last year seem extra intense was that there were so many landfalls,” said Bell, a meteorologist for NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center.

Hurricane season begins June 1 and runs through Nov. 30, peaking from August to October. In an average year, about 10 tropical storms (winds of at least 39 mph) develop in the Atlantic and Caribbean.

Six become hurricanes (winds 79 mph or more). Two reach “major” status.

But in eight of the past 10 years, the tally exceeded that. Bell said the trend is likely to continue for another decade or longer because a global climate pattern causes ideal conditions for hurricanes: warmer Atlantic waters, more summer monsoons over western Africa and fewer monsoons in the Amazon basin.

The forecast is similar to last month’s outlook from another research team based at Colorado State University. The Colorado group predicts 13 tropical storms this year, seven of them hurricanes and three of them major. Team leader William Gray says the project’s next update May 31 is likely to mirror Monday’s forecast by the federal government.

The survey, part of a “National Hurricane Survival Initiative” by the National Hurricane Center and state and private agencies, found 56% of people in 12 coastal states from Texas to Maine think they are not vulnerable to such storms. Nearly half have no preparedness plan in case of a serious hurricane.”
