Seeking International Favor from the Nations
Supplement to Prophecy Archive Update 227A
August 22, 2005
Having recently visited in Iran to map out international strategy, Syrian President Bashar Assad is planning a trip to the United Nations, which will be the first time a Syrian head of State has participated in a major conference of the world
organization. His appearance at the UN follows
the recent negotiations between Iranian and Iraqi officials. Iran is not really concerned about sanctions being leveled against it for restarting their nuclear bomb program, because the nations that get their oil from the Middle East will be hesitant to institute such sanctions. But Syria’s oil production is miniscule and Assad will be seeking to fend off any new sanctions against Syria by his personal appearance before some 170 of the nation’s ambassadors.
There will be more and
more behind the scenes negotiations between regional Islamic nations. They have a Jihad motivation for seeing Israel pushed into the Mediterranean Sea, and the United States out of both Iraq and Afghanistan. Israel is headed for a brief period of false peace once they get their security barrier completed and their own settlers on their side of it.
They will then have confidence they can maintain peace and safety outside the barrier, But that period of false peace will end abruptly when she is attacked by a vicious lightning Jihad from the north by 10 Arab nations.
In my opinion such an attack could occur as early as 2007, but
I confess that is speculation on my part.

Assad, who has been in office since the death of his father Hafez in 2000, has repeatedly called for dialogue with the United States to improve strained relations between the two countries.
