In the previous BLOG, I outlined the scenario that will come into play once the Israeli IDF and IAF have the Palestinians and their numerous terror groups secured inside the great security barrier/wall/fence. You will find several Archive Updates consolidated into one in our Archive Update 224, which graphically shows what led up to the announcement of the Disengagement Plan Ariel Sharon made public in December of 2003. The disengagement plan has been in full swing, and is on schedule as of the writing of this BLOG. The following historical account of the significant events, concerning its announcement and subsequent events, was extracted from the Archives of the Jerusalem Post.

Most of the disengagement has been completed.
Once Israel has finished the disengagement, and the Israelis from the settlements are safe outside the West Bank and Gaza Strip barrier, the character of the IDF and IAF will show a marked charge from their current passive reactions to existing terrorist activity.
And once their secur ity barrier has been completed, the response to terrorist activ
ities outside it will be unprecedented.
It is quite likely that the terrorist groups realize this, and may cool it for some period of time, screaming in the streets about their great Jihad victory over Israel, licking their chops, and deceiving themselves into believing it. The power struggle between the Palestinian Authority, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades should keep Israel’s internal enemies tied up for awhile.
