Iranian state TV said at least 40 people have been killed by a major earthquake that hit near the Iran-Pakistan border on Tuesday. Pakistani officials said the quake killed at least five people near the border.

Tremors from the 7.8 magnitude quake were also felt in India and Gulf states.

“It was the biggest earthquake in Iran in 40 years,” said an Iranian official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The US Geological Survey said the quake hit at 10:44 GMT at a depth of 15.2 km (9.4 miles).

People in the city of Zahedan poured into the streets when the earthquake struck, Iran’s Fars news agency reported. Many houses in rural parts of the region are made of mud brick, which can easily crumble in a quake, Fars said.

All communications in the area have been cut, the Iranian Red Crescent’s Mahmoud Mozaffar told state television. Rescue teams have been dispatched to the affected area, he said.

“In the aftermath of this earthquake five evaluation teams from the Khash and Saravan branches were sent to the area to assess damage,” Mozaffar said.

The epicenter was in southeast Iran in an area of mountains and desert, 201 km (125 miles) southeast of Zahedan and 250 km northwest of Turbat in Pakistan, USGS said.

Fars reported that the Iranian city of Saravan, which lies near the center of the earthquake, has not seen serious damage.

On April 9, a powerful 6.3 magnitude quake struck close to Iran’s only nuclear power station, killing 37 people, injuring 850 and devastating two villages.

Most of Iran’s nuclear-related facilities are located in central Iran or its west, including the Bushehr nuclear power plant on the Gulf coast. A US Institute for Science and International Security map did not show any nuclear-linked facilities in southeastern Iran close to Pakistan.

Ira sits on major geological faultlines and has suffered several devastating earthquakes, including a 6.6 magnitude quake in 2003 that flattened the city of Bam, in Iran’s far southeast, killing more than 25,000 people.

This quake also shook tall buildings in India’s capital New Delhi, sending people running into the streets, witnesses said. People also evacuated buildings in Qatar and Dubai, residents said.

“I was working and my work station was shaking,” said Viidhu Sekhri, 35, an underwriter at a New Delhi insurance company. “Then it was a bit shaky so we just rushed outside.”

Earlier in the day two smaller tremors were felt in India’s Himalayan region close to the Chinese border.

An official at India’s disaster management authority said the tremors felt in New Delhi and across northern India were because of the earthquake in Iran.

A nervous TV presenter started talking about earthquake tremors having been felt in Karachi and Balochistan.

Just then, we left the office and made our way through the stairs out of the high-rise building where the BBC office is located.

Outside, scores of people gathered on the road waiting for the tremors to subside.

The immediate sense among most of us was one of confusion and surprise – it took us a while to realise what was going on. Indian television was very quick to react – it was flashed across the screen within minutes.

We were told to evacuate and as we trooped out of the front door, we could see people from every floor heading for the stairs.

Clearly it was happening in every building in Connaught Place because the street outside was filled with people.

Many were on their mobile phones, perhaps calling friends and family while some were taking pictures.

I’m only on the second floor but the cups on my desk were shaking, and there were lots of shaky tables and chairs.

Then I got a weird feel in my ears, I could tell something was wrong. I could see people running out of buildings. Lots of people were panicking. I was sitting at my desk, and I felt the entire building rocking. It lasted about 40 seconds to a minute.

But people who were on the 12th floor and above say the building swayed for nearly 10 seconds.

There was another earthquake here last week but everybody has been saying it was much stronger today. It was much more sudden.

One friend said he had an office chair on wheels and it started to move around.

This region is on a fault line and lots of buildings are built with that in mind.

All Analysts, including myself, have been surprised Syrian President Assad has been able to survive in his office. NATO Failure to implement a no fly zone for Syrian military aircraft would have already produced an Assad defeat. The passive diplomatic dialogue policies of the Obama administration and Europe have followed the characteristics that preceded World War II with the Nazi regime. Secretary of State John Kerry’s current actions to use diplomatic dialog on his current global escapade won’t stop the prophesied final war of the Age of the Gentiles. Kerry has assumed the identical role played by the British Diplomat Neville Chamberlain, who thought he had achieved peace in his time by diplomatic dialog with Hitler.

Neville Chamberlain, was a British Conservative politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from May 1937 to May 1940. Chamberlain is best known for his appeasement foreign policy, and in particular for his signing of the Munich Agreement in 1938, conceding the Sudetenland region of Czechoslovakia to Germany. When Adolf Hitler continued his aggression by invading Poland, Britain declared war on Germany on 3 September 1939, and Chamberlain led Britain through the first eight months of the Second World War.

Middle East peace lasting a thousand years can only be implemented by the Lord as he returns at his 2nd Advent to end the battle of Armageddon to begin his reign.

There are currently two wars in Greater Syria – The war between the rebels and Assad, and the internal war for power between Islamists and the original native Syrian forces. One needs a scorecard to determine who is who in this maze of political war and motives instituted by Islamic goals and individual national interests.

There will be a ruler who immerges out of this mess identified as the Syrian Civil War, but as is usually the case in the Middle East, he will be temporary, and a strong dictator will replace him – I believe the strong dictator who replaces him will be one known in Scripture as the Antichrist, but in Islamic prophecy as the Madhi. He is “that Wicked” of II Thessalonians 2:8-12, who will be the Caliph of Islam. And some 1.7 Billion Muslim believers will initially accept him as their promised Mahdi, and many others will quickly follow to believe the same lies propagated by the spirit of Antichrist in the Koran.

1,200 Hizbullah Fighters Arrive in Syria to Back Assad Forces

Some 1,200 Hizbullah fighters arrived at the Syrian port of Tartus in the past few days to fight alongside Assad regime troops, the Saudi daily al-Watan reported on Sunday. These forces committed “a hideous crime” in the town of Talkalkh, the daily said, adding that tens of thousands of fighters entered from Iraq to aid the Syrian regime. It quoted sources as saying that the Damascus regime “is resorting to the aid of fighters from Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan, which implies that the Syrian recruits’ desire to fight alongside the regime is decreasing.” The source added that reservists are also not complying with the army’s repeated calls to join the regime in its fighting. On the second anniversary of the Syrian civil war, the Assad regime appears to be strong enough to endure a war of attrition with the rebels even with the loss of large portions of sovereign Syrian territory. Some analysts claim that the Syrian civil war began in 1980 when a group of Muslim Brothers stormed the military academy in Aleppo and, after separating the Alawite and Sunni cadets, cold-bloodedly killed the Alawites with knives and assault rifles. The regime retaliated in 1982 by brutally killing more than 20,000 Muslim Brothers in Homs and Hama.

The coalition of minorities around Assad has not disintegrated. Moreover, two million Alawites also understand the implications of a Sunni Islamist regime in Syria, even one on the Egyptian model.

Afghanistan’s fractured future

Despite the longevity of America’s Afghan campaign, including the spillover into Pakistan’s tribal area, few in the international press really understand the true nature of the Taliban threat, especially its association with al-Qaeda.

Much is unclear about the American drawdown; why now when the insurgency has gained so much strength? Why the shift from “we don’t negotiate with terrorists” to discussions in three countries, sometimes without informing Kabul? Why offer former Taliban commanders future cabinet positions? And what of intelligence reports of rifts between al-Qaeda and Mulla Omar’s Quetta shura?

There is little doubt that whatever government replaces the Karzai administration next year, it will be heavily represented, or at least influenced, by the Taliban, and Afghanistan will revert to its typical fractured state with pockets ruled by powerful warlords.

US media rhetoric hides the American military’s last desperate attempt to keep influence in important parts of the country once it leaves. Offering sweeteners to former Taliban heavyweights, even as the insurgent hierarchy dismisses them as irrelevant, is meant to prop up regional commanders in an exercise not very different from Pakistan’s good-Taliban strategy.

Even a complete withdrawal itself is doubted. Yet there is wide agreement that Washington has been consistently losing the initiative in Afghanistan for more than half of its presence there. Not only has its military let insurgents strengthen on both sides of the AfPak divide, it’s presence has also strained relations between Islamabad and Kabul, something that will feature prominently in the immediate aftermath of the American withdrawal late next year.

ISI Confirms That Jabhat Al-Nusra Is Its Extension In Syria, Declares ‘Islamic State Of Iraq And Al-Sham’ As New Name Of Merged Group

On April 8, 2013, the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) – Al-Qaeda in Iraq – released a recorded audio message by its leader, Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, in which he announced that the Syria jihadi group Jabhat Al-Nusra (JN) has been merely an extension of ISI in Syria. Al-Baghdadi confirms that Jabhat Al-Nusra has been receiving monthly funds from ISI. In this vein, Al-Baghdadi announces that the names ISI and JN are not to be used anymore; instead, he declares the official merging of the two groups under the name “Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham.”

Al-Baghdadi’s message is 21:30 in duration, and was released on leading jihadi forums.

Following is a summary of the message:

Al-Baghdadi begins his message by announcing the coming of glad tidings to the Muslim ummah. In the following ten minutes, Al-Baghdadi speaks about the ever-changing nature of jihadi groups, and in particular about the fact that jihadi groups go through phases of maturity that demand a change in their name in order to meet the reality-dictated necessities. Al-Baghdadi provides the ISI and its previous incarnations as an example of such evolution. ISI, Al-Baghdadi says, went through phases where it was initially called Al-Tawhid Wal-Jihad, then Al-Qaeda in Mesopotamia, then Majlis Shura Al-Mujahideen, and finally its current name, the Islamic State of Iraq. Al-Baghdadi says that such a change is normal, and that Muslims, despite the emotional attachments they develop for a certain name, must approach such changes free of emotions. The reason behind Al-Baghdadi’s focus on the issue of jihadi groups changing their names becomes clear later on in his message, when he declares a new name for ISI.

Al-Baghdadi then says that ISI, following the same path set by its predecessors regarding the group’s adherence to a doctrine that does not abide to geographical border or ethnic affiliation, has in fact had training and support cells operating in Syria; however, these cells have been “awaiting the chance” to expand their operations. Such a chance came after the bloodshed ensued in Syria, and after the Syrians’ call for help was answered. Therefore, Al-Baghdadi says, ISI decided to answer the call by assigning the “Julani” – a reference to Abu Muhammad Al-Julani, the leader of JN – to lead the group there. Al-Baghdadi confirms that Al-Julani was in fact dispatched from Iraq along with a group of men to Syria in order to meet the aforementioned cells there. Furthermore, Al-Baghdadi says that ISI provided JN with the plans and work strategy needed in Syria. He also says that ISI has been in fact splitting its funds evenly with JN, which received those funds on a monthly basis.

Addressing Syrians, Al-Baghdadi says that the announcement about JN being part of ISI was not released earlier for security reasons, and also in order to provide the Syrian people the opportunity to see and judge JN on their own, as a separate entity that is not part of Al-Qaeda, rather than perceive the group through the eyes of the biased media.

Al-Baghdadi then declares the nullification of both the names of ISI and JN, while announcing the two will be joined under the name “Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham.”
Al-Baghdadi then urges Islamic scholars to join the mujahideen in Syria, while inviting the various opposition groups and tribes to work on raising the banner of tawhid in Syria, and to work on instating the shari’a.

Al-Baghdadi warns Syrians not to fall victims of democracy, while adding that democracy should not be the outcome for the endless suffering and death they have faced thus far.

Non-Islamists in Egypt openly admitted that their increasingly violent protests against the government of President Mohamed Morsi, including a string of arsons targeting Muslim Brotherhood headquarters nationwide, are intended to force the military to reclaim control. Public support for a new military takeover grew tremendously after Dec. 5, when the Brotherhood used organized violence against protesters outside the presidential palace. According to one poll, 82% of Egyptians now want the military back in power.

“We just want the military to protect us during the intermediate period, not rule,” said Islam, a member of the revolutionary Suez Youth Union. Poll: Egyptian Support for Muslim Brotherhood Wanes

Amid Egypt’s mounting problems, support for the Islamic fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood is dwindling. President Morsi’s approval ratings were as high as 79% in September, but have dipped to 49%, according to a poll by the Egyptian Center for Public Opinion Research. Egypt is witnessing “the beginning of the demise of the Islamist project,” said Khaled Fahmy, professor and chair of the history department at the American University in Cairo. (USA Today)

Daniel 7:24,25 – And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. While Israel remains surrounded in the Negev Wilderness for some 1260 days after the United Nations brokers a truce or hudna agreed to by Islam and Israel, the Antichrist will continue his military conquests. He will conquer Egypt, establish his capital at Cairo, and begin to establish a new Caliphate across all of Africa north and west of the Sahara Desert, all of the Middle East south of the Black Sea, all the land to the south and west of a line from Georgia to Kyrgyzstan to Karachi, and all of Indonesia.

Daniel 11:41 – He shall enter also into THE GLORIOUS LAND, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these SHALL ESCAPE out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

The ancient boil of conflict between the descendants of Jacob, Ishmael, and the six sons of Keturah, with all its internal blend of impurities, is finally coming to a head in the Middle East. The existing world mindset toward peace will be shattered suddenly by a rapid blitzkrieg attack from the north by Syria. In league with Syria will be Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, Morocco, and Turkey.

Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Iran will move rapidly southward through the “glorious land” of Israel like a fast moving thunderstorm, bypassing the land where the people of Moab, Ammon, and Edom were settled when Daniel wrote his prophecies in about 600 B.C. The descendants of Edom (Jacob’s brother), and Ammon and Moab (the sons of Lot), as found on every published map for this time period, were settled immediately to the southeast, east, and northeast of the Dead Sea, precisely in the country we know as Jordan today. Hence, we can know that the antichrist will bypass Jordan as he moves south through Israel. Why would he bypass Jordan? She has no strategic, political, or economic advantage to offer him, but the Suez Canal and Egypt do, so he will head southwest toward that area after having driven the woman Israel into the Negev Wilderness south of Beersheba. Additionally, I am convinced when he first enters the glorious land, the Palestinian terror groups in Jordan will rise up against the King, and overthrow the monarchy.

Revelation 12:6 – And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Daniel 11:42 – He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

The political, geophysical, and military positioning of Syria, Iran, and Iraq, from a prospective of having world influence, literally stinks. But the position of Egypt’s Suez Canal, and Cairo, her capital, is outstanding. The antichrist is supposed to be a man of genius in all areas. That being the case, he would be worse than a military academy dropout were he not to take the Suez Canal, and then make Cairo his empire’s capital.

Daniel 11:43 – But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

The three most “precious things” in Egypt are: the Suez Canal, the Nile River and its Delta, and Cairo, its capital. He will conquer the Suez Canal zone and all of Egypt. So just what is Egypt? Many are inclined to establish it as the land bordered on the north by the Mediterranean Sea, on the west by Libya, on the south by Sudan, on the southeast by the Red Sea, and on the northeast by its Sinai border with Gaza and Israel’s Negev. And, geographically, that is quite correct. However, in reality, that is not Egypt. The real Egypt, where her people live, is much, much, smaller. Egypt is the land along her north and east coastlines up to about two miles inland, the Nile Delta, and the land along the Nile River extending about fifteen miles either side of its banks.

The Antichrist will send messages to leaders of two of the original 10 nations confederated with him, namely Libya and Sudan, requesting them to mass their troops along the northern coastal border with Libya, and along the border where the Nile enters Egypt from Sudan. This will cause the diversion of some Egyptian troops away from Cairo and the Suez Canal in order to protect their western and southern borders. And this will allow the antichrist to rapidly push across the Suez Canal into Cairo and along her western and eastern coastlines, then to quickly progress southward down the Nile with little resistance. I believe he will control Egypt within two weeks after he reaches the Suez Canal.

Once he has conquered Egypt, he will make an assessment of his geopolitical position. After having done so, he would be a military fool to return to his home country. He will establish his capital at Cairo, and will remain there for more than three years. After three years he will receive news that causes him to quickly return to Jerusalem. If a military leader plans to put down his roots for a while, what would be one of his major concerns? The relationship he has with the rulers of the nations that are on his immediate borders. That is, how sure he is they will not pull a surprise attack on him. So, through the prestigious position he has gained in the eyes of the Islamic world by this time, it will allow him to use the terrorist groups, already in Sudan and Libya, to overthrow their leaders, and in their place to install two of his stooges, where they will remain in control for some three years. He will already have plucked up the ruler of Lebanon, and replaced him with a stooge. It will surprise me if Lebanon, Sudan, and Libya are not the countries from which his stooges will rule.

Daniel 7:7,24 – I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were THREE of the FIRST horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. [24] And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue THREE kings.

I believe the kings (rulers) of Lebanon, Libya, and Sudan will be subdued by being personally plucked up by the roots out of their positions of leadership in their own countries, and replaced by puppet rulers who do exactly as the antichrist directs.

Daniel 11:43 – But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

“At his steps” means “companionship” (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance & Wilson’s O.T. Word Studies). This expression also appears in Judges 4:10, where it appears as “at his feet.”

Judges 4:10 – And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.

It represents an Old Testament word picture of a conquered leader or country laying yearly tribute payments before the king of the conquering country, who is setting on his throne, and the tribute is being placed at his feet on the steps leading up to his throne. So I believe the antichrist will place his puppet rulers on the thrones of Lebanon, Syria, and Sudan as those who are in “companionship” with him.

ESTABLISHMENT OF MAHDI ANTICHRIST’S GREAT CALIPHATE!

After the Antichrist conquers Egypt the initial ten Islamic countries that supported him will be quickly joined by a multiplicity of Islamic nations. His great Caliphate will include Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, all the countries that make up the Saudi Arabian Peninsula, Israel north of Beersheba, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, many of the southern states of the former Soviet Union with large Arab populations, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Having gone to military schools, lived among, worked with, and trained those of the Islamic faith as a much younger man, plus being familiar with prophecy since my youth, I have not only been waiting for many years for the true Messiah, Jesus Christ, but I have also been waiting for the arrival of the 12th Imam on the scene prior to the arrival of Jesus. I have long believed the 12th Imam Mahdi will be the 11th horn of Daniel 7, and the first beast of John’s Revelation 13. His coming is the great hope of all Islam. The Iranian President is a fanatical believer of his coming, and believes Mahdi will cause universal acceptance of Allah.

I believe his Caliphate Kingdom will have Cairo as its capital.

For more than three years, with the Suez Canal under his control, he will gain worldwide recognition and acclaim in his capital city of Cairo. Israel will be trapped in the Negev for more than three years (See previous updates), and stability will have come to the troubled Middle East. He will supposedly have done what all nations say they are seeking, that is, brought stability to the Middle East. But, during last year of his rule as Caliph, something will cause him to quickly head for Jerusalem.
