when he pardons it – Psalm 32:1
Romans 4:6-8 – Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, [7] Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. [8] Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
II Corinthians 9:15 – Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
The Old Testament word for a covering is the Hebrew word “kaphar,” which simply means, “to cover.” It is constantly and consistently used in reference to covering sin before God so that man may fellowship with him.
When man broke spiritual fellowship with God in Eden, his first action was to attempt to provide a “covering” to hide wh at h
e had done before God’s presence. This is the first Biblical example of man’s attempt to save himself from God’s condemnation by his own works.
Genesis 3:7 – And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
But only God can restore man to fellowship with him, and it must be totally by God’s grace, and not by works of man. So God instituted his plan of salvation by grace by promising a Seed, a Messiah, who would be born of a woman to save man by God’s grace.
Genesis 3:15 – And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
And then God provided man a picture of what he would provide as a temporary cover (kaphar) for the sins of those who believed his promise of the seed, until the Seed came and performed the act that would eternally provide a permanent covering (kaphar) for the sins of all those who believed in all the ages before, during, and after his coming. God’s salvation has always been by his grace to all men who would believe the Seed would come to save them by deliverance from God’s condemnation for sin.
Genesis 3:21 – Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
None of the animal blood sacrifices from the first one by Abel to the last one God accepted before Christ declared the Temple Mount to be spiritually desolate, ever took away any sins. The ones who brought them, that had faith in God to send a Savior to deliver them from condemnation for their sins, were saved by grace.
Those who brought them in the belief the sacrifice in itself would save them did not have their faith in God’s promise, but in their own ability to reconcile themselves to God.
Hebrews 10:4 – For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
The picture in Genesis of the shedding of innocent blood of animals to provide a covering (kaphar) for man’s sins, had no power of its own, but the one who was coming in a body made by his Father in Mary’s womb, did have the power to provide a permanent covering for all sin.
Hebrews 10:5-10 – Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: [6] In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. [7] Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. [8] Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; [9] Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. [10] By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
When Messiah the Seed’s blood was offered it took away forever the sins of all believers from Genesis to the end of the Millennium. It is a once for all covering (kaphar).

Iran is panicking over the possibility of losing its strategic octopus tentacle hold in Syria and Lebanon. Many are changing their minds who thought Assad could weather the storm. I suspect he will be assassinated by hit men from his friends Hizbullah and Iran, unless he flees to France.

and Hamas, Burhan Ghalioun, the president of the Syrian National Council, said Wednesday.
He said such moves would be part of a broader Syrian reorientation back into an alliance with the region’s major Arab powers. Ghalioun also called on the international community to take aggressive new steps, including the possible establishment of a no-fly zone in Syria. (Wall Street Journal)

Earlier this year, I thought the Syrian regime would be able to persevere.
It has been extraordinarily brutal and, unfortunately, if governments are willing to open fire on their people with utter disregard for human life, it often works.
Syria is not an oil regime. It doesn’t have that much cash.
The UN sanctions are actually quite effective in cutting down trade.
And Turkey is now going to impose its own sanctions on Syria, which will squeeze Assad even tighter.
Assad leads a minority regime that has been able to stay in power by bribing key members of the Sunni elite in both the business community and the military.
At the end of the day, that game becomes much more difficult to play once the money runs out. I now think this regime is going to collapse after all. (CNN)

“Yakhont supersonic anti-ship cruise missiles have been delivered to Syria” based on a contract Russia signed in 2007, a military source told the Interfax news agency.
Another Russian official told Interfax that the missiles, which operate as part of the Bastion mobile coastal defense system, “will be able to protect Syria’s entire coast against a possible attack from the sea.”
Each Bastion system is equipped with 36 cruise missiles as well as truck-mounted radar.

The EU and U.S. toughened sanctions against Syrian President Bashar Assad’s government Thursday. “Trade in Syrian public bonds and the provision of insurance and reinsurance to the Syrian government will be prohibited in the EU,” the bloc said.
The EU also halted new commitments for grants and concessional loans by EU countries to the Syrian government.

Of all the great feasts of Israel, established in Leviticus 1:1-44, the Feast of Tabernacles is one of two I am sure has not been completely fulfilled in prophecy. It is one directly associated with the time of Messiah’s coming, and was to be a season of great rejoicing that would one day be manifested at Messiah’s coming to plant His Kingdom on earth. The feast is described in verses 39 to 44 of Leviticus 23.
Leviticus 23:39-44 – Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the Lord seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath. [40] And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days.
[41] And ye shall keep it a feast unto the Lord seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month. [42] Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths: [43] That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God. [44] And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of the Lord.
Verse 40 presents, thousands of years in advance, a picture that became a reality when Jesus made His triumphant entry as the Messiah on His last Passover Feast in Jerusalem, as is recorded in John 12:12-16.
Leviticus 23:40 – And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days.
John 12:12-16 – On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, [13] Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name
of the Lord.
[14] And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, [15] Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt. [16] These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.
But He was rejected and the Jew’s Feast of Tabernacles has yet to be completed. When He comes at His Second Advent he will be accepted by Israel, and rejoicing of the Feast of Tabernacles completed.
All nations on this earth will come to Jerusalem yearly to worship at the great Feast of Tabernacles for a thousand years.
Zechariah 14:16 – And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
The following Scriptures attest to His first coming as the Lamb of God to establish His Kingdom, and of his rejection as their King.
Mark 1:14,15 – Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, [15] And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Zechariah 9:9 – Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
John 19:14-16,30 – And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
[15] But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.
[16] Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified.
And they took Jesus, and led him away. [30] When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
The following Scriptures attest to His Second Advent as the Lion of Judah to deliver Israel from the antichrist and his great army at the final battle of Armageddon, and then to set up His Kingdom and manner of worship for a thousand years.
Zechariah 14:3,4 – Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. [4] And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
Zechariah 12:8,9 – In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them. [9] And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
Zechariah 13:1 – In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.
Zechariah 14:8,9 – And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
[9] And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name
one.
Zechariah 6:12,13 – And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord: [13] Even he shall build the temple of the Lord; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. (“both” means He will unite the priesthood and ruler offices in Himself, in that He will be both the eternal High Priest and the eternal King)
This is the King and the Kingdom of which Daniel wrote in one of his visions, which will soon be the reality of Luke 21:27,28.
Daniel 7:13,14 – I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
[14] And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Luke 21:27,28 – And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. [28] And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
