From the beginning, I was in favor of going into Iraq, destroying Saddam’s regime, killing or capturing him,

and then getting the heck out of the country ASAP. Why the ASAP statement? Because to stay there was only to postpone the inevitable, the internal battle for control of the country between Kurds, Sunni, and Shiites, and to believe the “lasting” democracy could be maintained very long AFTER we left was sheer madness. So I considered it far better not to stay sacrificing American lives for what was inevitable AFTER we left, as well as the shattering effect it would have on our economy. The longer we stayed the more lives we would lose, and the further down the drain our economy would plunge.

The great publicity being given to the election of a democratic government this week as a great achievement I applaud but, as a realist, knowing what I do about Middle East Arab and Persian history, I want to assure you that at some point in time between 2010 and 2015 the new Iraqi democratic government will be overthrown, and a strong man will emerge to govern the country as an Islamic Republic.

I believe what I wrote in Special Prophecy Update 170B almost five years ago, which immediately follows.  (In this current 2011 Blog it would be seven years ago)

A Democratic Government Cannot Stand in Iraq!

I was 100 percent in favor of invading Iraq and ending the reign of Saddam the Butcher, and 100 percent in the corner of those who wanted to see the Baath Party out of power, but I have consistently been 100 percent in favor of NOT trying to establish a democratic type of government like ours, because such a government would only stand for a few months, and the cost of American lives would not be worth the price.

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO ESTABLISH A DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT IN IRAQ THAT WILL LAST – IT WOULD ONLY LAST AS LONG AS A LARGE AMERICAN ARMY WAS IN PLACE TO ENFORCE IT, AND AMERICANS WILL CONTINUE TO DIE IN HIT-AND-RUN-ATTACKS WHILE THEY REMAIN TO MAINTAIN SUCH A GOVERNMENT.

I could have gotten out of fighting in Vietnam, but I chose to go. I did not go because I believed we could win the war and establish a non-corrupt regime in the southern half of the country. I went because I believed it was essential to stopping the spread of communism to other countries in the Far East. The support the Soviet Union poured into Vietnam and Afghanistan broke the financial back of the communist monster, which led to the breakup of the Soviet Union, and its demise as one of two great world powers. I believe it was absolutely essential that we go into Afghanistan.

Its unbelievable mountainous terrain and deep sheltered valleys made it the perfect terrain for a Taliban government to be

the breadbasket of terror led by Osama bin Laden. And we simply could not eliminate the numerous terror camp training facilities and headquarters with missiles and air strikes, no matter how sophisticated the state of our technical expertise was at that time. And, for that reason, I am still in favor for troops to be maintained there in order to prevent a re-occurrence of the same scenario. Iraq is a flat land compared to Afghanistan, and, once we had deposed Saddam and crushed his regime, I knew we had the advantage of destroying any threat that arose against our interests in the region with missiles and air strikes following our withdrawal. I am 100 percent in favor of the worldwide war on terrorism, but 100 percent in opposition to attempting to form a democratic form of government in Iraq like ours in this generation. Sure, I wish it were possible, it is an idealistic, noble daydream, but we are fighting Islamic windmills with toothpicks, and the price in blood we are paying for it cannot be justified by a final result that will be marked by failure to see it fulfilled.

The real problem in Iraq began in 1932, the year I was born. Iraq was also born that year as the first of the League of Nations mandate states. So, after 1932, Iraq was formally independent. There was still, of course, a large measure of British influence and power there, but it was certainly independent earlier than any of the other Arab states. The British were largely responsible for the impossible attempt to merge together four major contentious groups into one state, the Shiite, the Sunni, the Kurds, and the Assyrians. It would have been far better to have four countries with separate borders than to attempt to put four wildcats into a sack and call the sack a state. And there are many other smaller groups of ethnic wildcats that also were placed in the sack. It was inevitable that a government would eventually come into existence that would be held together by absolute force of a dictator. It is most unfortunate that the dictator who finally grabbed power was Saddam. Most dictators are happy to rule their own country with an iron hand, but Saddam had illusions of grandeur to be the great Islamic messiah who would even exceed the greatness of Saladin the Kurd and, in the end, be ruler over all of the Arab world. The only real solution to the problem, generated in 1932, is to establish governmental borders that separate the four major ethnic groups, and let each group internally fight it out as to the kind of government they want. After the dust has settled you may only have two or three states continuing to fight each other for dominance, but they will be fighting each other rather than the United States and Israel.

The continuous argument I have heard echo across the world’s political scenario from before Operation Desert Storm through Operation Iraqi Freedom is this – DO NOT DISTURB THE STABILITY OF THE REGION! And everyone seems to agree on how important it is to NOT disturb it! I totally disagree! I was hoping we would go in, get rid of Saddam, his henchmen, and his Baath Party, then pull out as quickly as possible, and let all hell break loose between the Sunnis, Shiites, Kurds, and many other ethnic groups that make up Iraq.

They would not be able to concentrate on how much they hate us and Israel, because they would be too busy hating each other. Then, after the smoke and killing ended in a truce, Iraq would probably be splintered into three separate countries, Kurdistan dominated by Turkey, Sunnistan dominated by Syria, and Shiitestan as a part of Iran.

As far as I am concerned, the more instability, political turmoil, and confusion we see among all of the nations of Islam, the better off the United States (the big Satan as we are called) and Israel (the little Satan) will be in the world’s fickle climate. If I thought there was any possibility of installing a lasting democratic type of government in Iraq, then I would say it would be worth the price we are paying in American blood to do so, but it is a futile pipe dream, no matter how noble it may seem to those who favor it. I have been a supporter of both father and son Bush in their presidencies. I do continue to admire them both, and will vote for the son in November. However, I do not agree with the idea of attempting to establish a democracy in the midst of Islam because it is impossible – admirable, but beyond the scope of possibility in this generation. We need to get out and let them slug it out among themselves. In any case, whatever happens, Iraq will be one of the tens associated with Daniel 2 & 7, and Revelation 13 and 17.

The Lamb King of the soon coming Kingdom foretold in Revelation 17:14 is the King of the Kingdom found in Daniel 2:44 and 7:27, and he is the only one who can bring lasting peace and stability to the Middle East under a theocracy. The Old Roman Empire had a large southern flank that, at one time, included all of what we know as the Islamic nations stretching from Morocco to Iran, which number more than the ten required to choose from as being the toes or horns in Daniel and Revelation.

Daniel 2:42,44 – And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and

partly broken. [44] And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

Daniel 7:24-27 – And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. [25] And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. [26] But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. [27] And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

Revelation 13:1 – And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

Revelation 17:12-14 – And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. [13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. [14] These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Iraq crisis stirs protests in Sunni strongholds

By REUTERS

Protests in Sunni areas over VP arrest; demonstrations come day after Baghdad bombings.

SAMARRA, Iraq – Several thousand Iraqis in Sunni Muslim strongholds protested on Friday against Shi’ite Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, responding to his moves against two Sunni leaders and taking to the streets a day after fatal bombings hit the capital Baghdad.

Maliki this week sought Sunni Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi’s arrest on terrorism charges and moved to fire a Sunni deputy. On Thursday at least 72 people were killed in Baghdad by bombings in mainly Shi’ite neighborhoods.

As Americans leave, Iraq faces domestic crisis

The events threaten to splinter Iraq’s fragile sectarian and ethnic faultlines and highlight the risk of the country tumbling into the kind of bloody slaughter that a few years ago led the OPEC oil-producer to the edge of civil war.

After Friday prayers, with Sunni imams warning Maliki was seeking to foment sectarian divisions, protesters were on the streets of Sunni-dominated Samarra,

Ramadi, Baiji and Qaim, many waving banners in support of Hashemi, and criticizing the government.

“The charges against Hashemi were orchestrated behind closed doors. Maliki is trying to remove Sunnis from power to get a tight grip, like as a new dictator of Iraq,” said Ahmed al-Abbasi, a protester from Samarra.

The crisis could scuttle a delicate power-sharing agreement that splits posts among Shi’ite, Sunni and Kurdish leaders just days after the last American troops withdrew nearly nine years after the invasion to oust Saddam Hussein.

“What’s happening in Iraq is settling political scores,” Iyad Allawi, Maliki’s predecessor and head of the Sunni-backed Iraqiya bloc, told al-Arabiya television.

An emergency session in parliament among leaders of political blocs to debate the crisis was canceled on Friday.

For many Sunnis who feel marginalized by the rise of Iraq’s Shi’ite majority since the fall of Saddam, Maliki’s measures have deepened worries the Shi’ite leader is making a power grab to consolidate Shi’ite power.

“Hashemi, fear not, with our blood we support you,” one banner read in Samarra.

Hashemi denies charges his office ran an assassination squad.

After the interior ministry broadcast what it said were confessions from Hashemi’s bodyguards, the Sunni leader left for semi-autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan, where he is unlikely to be handed over to central government authorities.

US diplomacy, regional worries

Baghdad was quiet on Friday with many people deciding to stay off the streets following Thursday’s string of bombings, which included a suicide bomber, driving an ambulance, who detonated his explosives outside a government office.

The last American troops left Iraq over the weekend, nearly nine years after the invasion that toppled Sunni dictator Saddam. Many Iraqis fear a return to sectarian violence without a US military buffer.

US officials are trying to stay engaged in Iraq.

Vice President Joe Biden called Iraqi President Jalal Talabani to support efforts to resolve tensions and Army Chief of Staff General Raymond Odierno met with Maliki on Thursday.

US intelligence agencies had warned that security gains in Iraq could degenerate into sectarian violence after the withdrawal.

Turmoil in Iraq would have wider consequences in a region where a crisis in neighbouring Syria is becoming increasingly sectarian, and Shi’ite Iran, Turkey and Sunni Arab Gulf nations are all positioning for more influence.

Iraqi Shi’ite leaders worry a shift to a hardline Sunni government in Damascus if Syrian President Bashar al-Assad falls would unbalance their country’s own delicate sectarian makeup, or spill instability over the border.

Micah 5:2 – But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

The large angelic choir in the heavens did not shine over the great city of Jerusalem to give their visible glory and song to King Herod, the Princes of Israel, the Priests, the Princes of Israel, or the rich merchants of Jerusalem.  Instead they appeared to a group of shepherds, who were at the bottom of Jerusalem society.  The humble were looking for a Messiah, a Savior.  The proud were loo king for a conqueror to come as their

king to bring them great wealth and prosperity.

I Corinthians 1:26-31 – For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: [27] But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; [28] And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: [29] That no flesh should glory in his presence. [30] But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: [31] That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

Micah 5:2 is one of the most beloved verses in Scripture concerning the birth of Israel’s Messiah, Jesus Christ.  It has been put on display Christmas after Christmas, and preached vividly during that season from millions of pulpits.  By the time it was fulfilled by Christ’s birth in Bethlehem, traditional teachings concerning the Messiah’s birth had replaced God’s account, and it is truly sad that Herod had to ask where he would be born, and perhaps even sadder that the scribes had to look it up.  Some traditional teachings, by the time that Christ arrived, taught that Messiah the Prince would be born of royalty, or perhaps by the wife of the High Priest, or at least of wealthy parents who had great influence.  Traditional teachings had completely departed from those verses found in the 53rd Chapter of Isaiah.  He was not expected to be a suffering servant, but rather a great conqueror that would fight and destroy Israel’s enemies in battle after battle until Israel reigned supreme.  Some traditional teaching suggested he might be born in the great city of Jerusalem.  But when he came only a handful knew who he was, a man child whose Father was God, born of a virgin from the dirty little  town of Nazareth, laying in a manger outside the inn in a cave in the small city of Bethlehem.  Many “traditional” teachings of today will also cause most of the world to receive the man of sin, the antichrist, as the true Christ.

He was sent by His Father “to be ruler in Israel,” but Israel rejected him as both judge (Micah 5:1) and ruler, and they were without excuse, for all the prophets from Moses to Malachi had foretold of His “goings forth,” which had been from of old, from everlasting.  His characteristics, His goings forth, His life, His purpose, and His death had been clearly revealed by God’s word before His Living Word arrived in sinless flesh.  The following Scriptures reveal this truth.  Had they studied His word and believed it they could have recognized Him.

Deuteronomy 18:18,19 – I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. [19] And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

Isaiah 53:6 – All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Malachi 3:1 – Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.

John the Baptist was the messenger God sent before Christ the Messiah, and Jesus was the messenger of the covenant made to the seed of Abraham and David.  He came quickly to the temple after His temptation in the wilderness to cleanse it to be a house of prayer, not a den of thieves.  And, at the final Passover, when He came again to cleanse it, He found the same den of spiritual and physical thieves saturating it with ungodliness.  That is why He cried from the Mount of Olives before His arrest: [37] O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! [38] Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. [39] For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.  (Matthew 23:37,38)

HE’LL COME SOON IN THE NAME OF THE LORD FOR A MILLENNIAL REIGN

EZEKIEL’S MILLENNIAL CITY AND TEMPLE

Ezekiel 40:2 – In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south.

Ezekiel 43:2-5 – And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory. [3] And it was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my face. [4] And the glory of the Lord came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east. [5] So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the Lord filled the house.

Ezekiel 48:35 – It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.

JOHN’S NEW ETERNAL HEAVENS, NEW EARTH, AND NEW JERUSALEM

Revelation 21:1-3 – And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

[2] And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

[3] And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Revelation 21:10 – And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

Revelation 21:22-24 – And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. [23] And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. [24] And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

Herod started the Temple, but great grandson finished the Job

By Arieh O’Sullivan (The Media Line)

November 11, 2011

It turns out that the Western Wall of the ancient Second Temple Mount wasn’t built during the reign of King Herod after all and that the place was a building site even when Jesus visited it.

Archaeologists have uncovered what they say is evidence that the massive retaining wall of the ancient Temple Mount wasn’t even started until at least 20 years after Herod died in 4 B.C.. The new findings challenge the perception that the enormous edifice, the largest construction endeavor in the ancient Holy Land, had been solely the work of the ancient king, known as Herod the Builder.

Herod is known as one of the great project engineers of the ancient world as well as for his legendary efforts to hunt down baby Jesus. Halfway into his reign, he decided to renovate the Temple in Jerusalem and greatly enlarge the mount it stood on in one of the biggest construction projects in the Roman Empire.

Clearing out an ancient drainage channel 2,000 years later, archaeologists got a glimpse of the ancient construction methods when they reached the foundation stones of the massive wall.

Because the stones, some weighing as much as 50 tons each, needed to rest on firm ground, a residential neighborhood that existed at the time was razed in order to reach the bedrock. Remnants of this wall above ground are revered as Judaism’s most sacred sight.

Excavations revealed a rock-hewn ritual bath under a foundation stone that had been filled with debris. This allowed archaeologists for the first time to examine directly underneath the wall where they found 17 simple bronze coins and three oil lamps from the first century A.D.  That bewildered them.

“Four of the latest coins were minted under the Roman governor of Jerusalem, named Valerius Gratus in the 15/16 C.E. This is 20 years after Herod’s death so at least the western wall, or this segment of the western wall, was constructed long after Herod passed away,” archaeologist Ronny Reich told The Media Line.

“It took generations to build, not a few years.  It adds something to history of construction of the largest edifice ever built in this country,” he said. “The project is Herod’s. We will not take it away from him. He foresaw it. He planned it. He provided the means for 18 years of construction. But he didn’t see its completion.”

Reich said Herod had apparently been motivated to take on the massive complex because Jerusalem was growing and more room was needed for the tens of thousands of pilgrims who would converge on the city with thousands of animals to sacrifice.

“It also matched his own glory and that suited him,” said Reich, a Haifa University professor who has been excavating in Jerusalem for over 40 years.

Until now, archaeologists have only had the written record of Jewish-Roman historian Josephus, who said the construction of the Temple project was only completed during the reign of King Agrippa II, Herod’s great-grandson, in the 50s A.D., meaning the whole project took over 70 years.

“Josephus and his figures are controversial among scholars. So here we have an independent archaeological datum telling us that indeed it took a long time,” Reich said.

The excitement among the archaeologists is still apparent because the greatness of this discovery wasn’t a treasure, but knowledge. It was always assumed that the construction was a running project for generations, and their find finally proved it.

“Discoveries are never spectacular, like items of silver or gold,” Reich said. “But if I learn something else and close the gap of knowledge on Jerusalem, then I am satisfied.”

Historians say that Herod took on the project in the 18th year of his reign (22 B.C.). The new temple structure itself, built around an older one that had been standing for hundreds of years, took about a year-and-a-half to build. It originally stood on a platform measuring some 250 meters (yards) by 250 meters built by the Hasmonean kings.

Herod’s plans called for a magnificent new massive platform more than double the size about 500 meters long and 280 meters wide with huge retaining walls creating an artificial surface for worship.

Reich said the evidence also indicated, in his eyes, that construction probably began on the eastern side, followed by the southern and northern walls built, and ending with the western wall. Their excavations were directly underneath the Robinson Arch, which served as a major entryway into the Temple Mount, meaning that it too must have dated from well after 15 C.E.

The findings even indicate that during the time of Jesus, the Temple Mount was a construction site. Reich said that the Gospel of John even indicated that it took a long time to build.

“Jesus answered them, ‘Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.’ The Jews then said, ‘It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?’ (John 2:19)

“I don’t know if this figure is accurate but it does corroborate our findings. It took more than the days of Herod, more than twice

the time to construct. The archaeological evidence now corroborates these texts,” Reich said.

For all the time it took to build, tragically, the edifice stood for less than a generation. The Romans destroyed it during the revolt of the Jews in 70 A.D.

“BE OF GOOD CHEER: IT IS I; BE NOT AFRAID.” – MARK 6:50C

 December 24, 2011

http://www.tribulationperiod.com/

We are headed into a time of great trouble, perilous times.  We need to remember all power in heaven in heaven and earth belongs to our Savior, who will deliver us in what we are now facing in ever increasing human carnality, nature revolting, and a fear of the unknown.

Matthew 28:18 – And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Mark 6:50-52 – For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid. [51] And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered. [52] For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.

Luke 21:11 – And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

II Timothy 3:1-4,12-14 – This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

Hebrews 10:25 – Not forsaking the assembling of our-selves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

IT IS PAST TIME FOR BRETHREN TO GROW IN FERVENT LOVE AMONG THEMSELVES

I Peter 4:7,8 – But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

Galatians 5:13-26 – For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. I was stationed in the Middle East when the Americans and British participated in Operation Ajax, deposing a democratically elected government of Iran by a military coup, replacing it with what amounted to a dictatorship, ruled by a Shah who was an ab sol

ute monarch.  This began an era in which we trained the Iranian military and intelligence services in Iran, and in IHL’s in the U.S.  This was the beginning of my association with Arab and Persian military personal.  I retired from the USAF National Security Agency in 1971.

By the 1950s, the Iranian Shah was engaged in a power struggle with Prime Minister Mohammed Mosaddeq, an immediate descendant of the previous monarchy, the Qajar dynasty. In 1953, the British and U.S. spy agencies deposed the democratically-elected government of Mossadegh in a military coup d’état codenamed Operation Ajax, and restored the Shah as an absolute monarch. The anti-democratic coup d’état was a “a critical event in post-war world history” that replaced Iran’s post-monarchic, native, and secular parliamentary democracy with a dictatorship. US support and funding continued after the coup, with the CIA training the government’s secret police, SAVAK. In subsequent decades t his foreign intervention, along with other economic, cultural and political issues, united opposition against the Shah and led to

his overthrow.

Carter administration

Shortly before the revolution on New Year’s Day 1979, American president Jimmy Carter further angered anti-Shah Iranians with a televised toast to the Shah, declaring how beloved the Shah was by his people.

After the revolution in February, the embassy had been occupied and staff held hostage briefly. Rocks and bullets had broken enough of the embassy front-facing windows for them to be replaced with bullet-proof glass. Its staff was reduced to just over 60 from a high of nearly 1000 earlier in the decade.

The Carter administration attempted to mitigate the anti-American feeling by finding a new relationship with the de facto Iranian government and by continuing military cooperation in hopes that the situation would stabilize.

However, on October 22, 1979 the U.S. permitted the Shah – who was ill with cancer – to attend the Mayo Clinic for medical treatment. The American embassy in Tehran had discouraged the request, understanding the political delicacy, but after pressure from influential figures including former United States Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and Council on Foreign Relations chairman David Rockefeller, the Carter administration decided to grant the Shah’s request.[20][21][22]

The Shah’s admission to the US intensified Iranian revolutionaries’ anti-Americanism and spawned rumors of another U.S.- backed coup and re-installation of the Shah.

Revolutionary leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini – who had been exiled by the Shah for 15 years – heightened rhetoric against the “Great Satan”, the United States, talking of what he called “evidence of American plotting.”

Top US general: Iran’s dangerous game could draw Mid East and US into conflict

DEBKAfile Special Report

December 21, 2011, 8:45 AM (GMT+02:00)

Just 24 hours after US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta told CBS th at Ir

an could build a nuclear bomb in a year or less, Gen. Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint US Chiefs of Staff issued a warning: “Iran is playing a dangerous game that could ensnare the Middle East, the Middle East and others into conflict and a renewed arms race.” During a stop in Afghanistan, the general spoke to CNN of concerns about Iran’s ambitions from Iraq to Afghanistan, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

He was described as quietly leading the ongoing military planning for an attack against Iran’s nuclear weapons if the president gives the order to do so.

“We are examining a range of options,” said the US general. “Don’t push it,” he warned Iran.

Debkafile’s military and Washington sources say it should be noted that in the space of 24 hours, America’s two top security figures have referred to war with Iran as a realistic and imminent possibility.

This is a big step from the customary US references to a military option as being on the table as a last resort for halting Iran’s march toward a nuclear bomb still calculated to be some years in the distant future.

Gen. Dempsey went on to say: “My biggest worry is they (the Iranians) will miscalculate our resolve.

Any miscalculation could mean that we are drawn into conflict, and that would be a tragedy for the region and the world.”

There is no guarantee that Israel will give the United States warning if it decides to attack Iran, he said, “But America is sharing intelligence with Israel.

We are trying to establish some confidence on the part of the Israelis that we recognize their concerns and are collaborating with them on addressing them,” the US general said.
Gen. Dempsey clarified another controversial point when he said the loss of the drone is not the end of US efforts to figure out what Iran is doing. America is gathering intelligence against Iran in a variety of means. “It would be rather imprudent of us not to try to understand what a nation who has declared itself to be an adversary of the United States is doing.”

Jesus on Marketing

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

I have always been interested to see how organizations ‘promote’ what they do. This involves more than just talking about it and asking for money, it involves a plan that people see and understand.

First, they need to figure out what is needed in the world or community and find a way to meet that need. Then second, they want to tell the people in that world or community that they have something they may want to check out. They need to make sure they work hard to make it easy for the people to get and easy for them to understand. And third, they need to make sure that when the people do check it out, it is good, satisfying and does indeed, touch their need and with white label local seo you can do exactly this without any trouble, the local reseller SEO Agencies Brisbane get results locally and nationally, which makes the proprietary SEO system so darn effective, spread the word by itself and get the good advertising on move.

Word of mouth will do the rest!

I think every organization, church, business, ministry needs to be known for something they offer that meets a need. I am sure they must already have something their community needs and that is probably why they exist. But, do they ‘promote’ themselves well enough for the people around them to know that they are there? SEO management is not that hard to find, if you ever need help then check out this Home Page for assistance.

Does the community around you know that you exist? Why you are there? What you can do for them?

We all need to practice good promotion. In organizational terms, that would be called ‘marketing’. In our case it may not be for money, it may be to help them make life better.

Jesus was a master in showing us how to use excellent marketing skills. Consider these three things He did in Matthew 9:35-36

Jesus went to where He knew there would be a person in need. Do you know where that would be in your community? We need to be available where the need is if we have something that will help with that need. We need to let them know what we have for them. That means we go to them rather than wait for them to come to us.
Jesus went to all the communities. He did not select some people or areas over others. He did not rule anyone out. He offered His solution to everyone regardless of who they were, where or how they lived, whether they wanted it or not. He knew they needed what He had. His concern was that they didn’t know the solution that He was offering. The same may be true for what you have to offer.
Jesus ‘saw’ the people as they were and ‘felt’ for them because He knew what they really needed. We need to have a strategy that lets us meet their ‘felt’ need before we move to their ‘deep’ need. If we are in ministry, we are failing our communities if we are ignoring their immediate need and aiming just at some spiritual solution. At the same time, just doing something that’s needed without making the ultimate connection to the prevailing spiritual problem is falling short of the Jesus model.
