You have read my lengthy dissertation of Daniel 9:27 to prove the vast majority of today’s prophetic teachings are based on the three “HE’s” being the antichrist, but that this was not taught before 1740.

And, I have been unable to find a clearly stated valid first-of-the-week position before that date.

In order to justify a pre-tribulation rapture, it was necessary to create a war before the tribulation period, out of which the antichrist could arise to sign a peace treaty, which he would break after three and one half years of peace, but such a war never existed before 1740.

I am from the old school of the eighteen hundreds and early nineteen hundreds. The old school believed there was only one war. The modern school believes there are two, a viewpoint that was make very popular by several writers in the nineteen fifties, and is the majority belief today. I am persuaded that there is only one war. It begins when the antichrist, who I believe will come out of Syria, attacks Israel from the north, with the armies of Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon actively involved in the attack from without, the Palestinian Authority attacking from within, and Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, and Turkey initially providing logistical support. This starts the one war that will last for 1260 days. I label it as the War of Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. This war ends in the final great battle, the battle of Armageddon.

At the time of the writings of Daniel and Ezekiel, most of the descendants of Meshech and Tubal were settled in modern Syria and Lebanon primarily, but some had settled in southern Turkey and extreme northwestern Iraq. Please look at Prophecy Updates 27 through 39, and 71 through 76, along with Birth Pang Numbers 15 to 18, for a more complete exposition of the War of Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and of its final battle, the battle of Armageddon.

The Antichrist, the Assyrian of Micah 5, the King of the North in Daniel 11:40 to 45, and Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, are all one, and the same, person. There is only one war. It begins the last 1260 days of the tribulation period, and culminates with the battle of Armageddon.

In Ezekiel 38:1-3, God tells Ezekiel to set his face against two things, a person, Gog, who is the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and against a land, which is the land of Magog, The chief prince of the battle of Armageddon.

Ezekiel 38:1-3 – And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, [2] Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, [3] And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

The following Scriptures start the War of Gog, who is the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, but is also known as the King of the North, and as the Assyrian.

Ezekiel 38:8-12 – After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. [9] Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee. [10] Thus saith the Lord God; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought: [11] And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, [12] To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.

Daniel 11:40-44 – And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. [41] He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon. [42] He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

[43] But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and

the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. [44] But tiding s ou

Micah 5:5 – And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men. (See Archive Prophecy Updates 62 to 69)

The following Scriptures pertain to the last battle in the War of the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, which is the final battle Revelation identifies as Armageddon.

Daniel 11:45 to Daniel 12:1 – And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him. [1] And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

Matthew 24:21,22 – For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. [22] And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

Zechariah 14:3-5 – Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. [4] And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half

of it toward the south. [5] And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

Revelation 16:16-21 – And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. [17] And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. [18] And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. [19] And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. [20] And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. [21] And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

Ezekiel 39:4-8,17-22 – Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. [5] Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord God. [6] And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the Lord. [7] So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel. [8] Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord God; this is the day whereof I have spoken. [17] And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord God; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood. [18] Ye shall eat the flesh of

the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan. [19] And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you. [20] Thus ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord God. [21] And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them. [22] So the house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God from that day and forward.

What you have just read is a description of the results of the last battle in the War of the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and it is the same as the battle of Armageddon found in Revelation. Please note the numerous similarities of the battlefield scene in Revelation 19:17-21 that parallel the same battle scene from the preceding verses in Ezekiel 39:17-20.

Revelation 19:17-21 – And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; [18] That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. [19] And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. [20] And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. [21] And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

When the Antichrist, who is also known as the King of the North, the Assyrian, and Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, attacks Israel from Syria, the 1260 days will begin. The 1260 days will culminate with the final battle of Armageddon.

Revelation 12:6 – And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Revelation 16:16 – And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

We are living in a era of time when it would be especially wise for all true believers to heed the warning of Revelation 16:15.

Revelation 16:15 – Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

Revelation 3:2-4 – Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. [4] Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

Russia rejects call for Assad to step down

SANAA, Syria, Aug. 19 (UPI) — Russia has rejected the U.S. demand that Syrian President Bashar Assad step down, saying he should be given more time to enact reforms.

Meanwhile, anti-government activists calling for Assad’s ouster stepped up their demands following Friday prayers, the BBC reported.

The BBC said Friday’s protests could be a test of Assad’s claim he had called for an end of army and police operations against civilians calling for his removal.

The United States is “waging a humanitarian and diplomatic war” against Syria, said Bashar Ja’afari, Syria’s envoy to the United Nations. He said the United States wants to instigate insurrection in Syria.

Assad has long promised reforms, but they have yet to materialize. Human rights groups said some 2,000 people have died since uprisings calling for Assad’s ouster began five months ago.

Assad has used helicopters, gunships, snipers, tanks and ground forces against civilians in cities across the country, reports have said.
The United States, joined by the United Kingdom, France and Germany, Thursday called for Assad to “step aside,” saying his “calls for dialogue and reform have rung hollow while he is imprisoning, torturing and slaughtering his own people.”

U.S. President Barack Obama also called for more stringent trade sanctions against Syria; the European Union could call for its own sanctions, the report said.

The United Nations said it was given permission to send a humanitarian mission to Syria, but in a separate development U.N. investigators said Thursday the use of violence against Syrian protesters could “amount to crimes against humanity.”

In a report to the United Nations Human Rights Council, investigators said the U.N. Security Council should refer the issue to the International Criminal Court.

So what’ s going on in Syria

? All is well, thanks for asking; people are being butchered as usual. And what is the world saying about it? The world is rolling its eyes to the heavens and pretends that 5,000 Syrians have not been murdered already, that tens of thousands were not wounded, and that tens of thousands were not detained by their own regime.

Why was an international coalition forged vis-à-vis the Gaddafi regime? Because the world said Gaddafi is shooting his own citizens. And what exactly is Assad doing? He has undertaken worse actions, bombarding his own citizens using battleships. Yet in this case, disconcerting silence prevails

A coalition of dark interests allows Bashar al-Assad to act as he wishes – and he knows it. The biggest hypocrites are his Turkish neighbors, of course. Turkey’s prime minister constantly slams Israel over the nine people killed on board the Marmara, but apparently has little to say about the 5,000 people killed in Syria. Turkey has the longest border with Syria, and for a few months now the Turks are pretending to grant Assad “a final opportunity,” yet in practice they are safeguarding his regime.

The Turks are scared of a Syrian vacuum that will come at their expense. Every week, Turkish soldiers are being killed by the Kurdish underground, and the Turks fear that the Kurds will be killing their soldiers on both sides of the Syrian border.

As opposed to the reports and assessments we are hearing, it does not appear that the Turks intend to intervene in Syria militarily. That would prompt an entanglement vis-à-vis Syria’s main supporter, Iran, which does not hide its public endorsement of the murderous regime in Damascus. Another state that maintains its silence is the Shiite Iraq, which views Syria’s Alawites as close associates.

UN lost its raison d’être

So who else supports Assad’s regime? The Arab League. The one that rushes to complain against Israel at the UN Security Council over every tiny violation in Gaza, while allowing an Arab regime to butcher its own people with no interruptions. There is no longer any justification for the existence of the Arab League, which is preoccupied with one thing: Trying to embarrass Israel.

The several Arab ambassadors recalled from Damascus are no more than lip service.

And who else is turning a blind eye to events in Syria? Russia, which protects Assad because of the modern, expensive dock it built at the Syrian port of Tartus. Russia needs a home base in the Mediterranean, yet as its fleet can dock in Israel too there is no need to support Assad.

The UN, which is also incapable of averting the mass carnage, has lost its raison d’être. After all, this institution was established in order to prevent new holocausts and further extermination in the wake of World War II. The UN is not even capable of issuing a condemnation of Syria

Finally, we have President Barack Obama’s Administration. It was Obama who virtually forced a new US ambassador to return to Syria, while portraying Assad as an American ally. This showed complete failure to understand regional realities. To this day, the US has not recalled its envoy from Damascus, thereby continuing to legitimize Assad’s terrible regime of oppression.

Of course, the greatest hypocrisy being exposed at this time is that of the Syrian regime itself, which did not spare insults, incitement and lies against Israel; a tyrannical regime that pretended to be a human rights champion, while falsely portraying Israel’s democracy as a tyranny. At least this is one mask we can remove in the hypocritical global festival surrounding the ailing Syria.

Gulf and Arab States Break Silence over Syria Crisis

Introduction

The Arab countries recently broke their silence over the events in Syria with a series of official announcements and moves. First came a cascade of statements from the Gulf states, which called upon the Syrian regime to stop employing its “war machine” against defenseless civilians, and to meet the demands of the Syrian people by enacting serious reforms. These statements triggered similar announcements by Arab states and officials outside the Gulf.

The Gulf states’ call for an immediate change in Syrian policy, which ended five months of Arab indifference to the situation there, were seen as “a turning point in the official Arab stance.”[1] Until now, the Gulf states and other Arab countries – which are themselves undemocratic and intolerant of dissent, and which supported the suppression of the uprising in Bahrain – have refrained from expressing solidarity with the protestors in Syria. This, both out of their support for Assad’s regime and out of fear that a successful uprising in Syria may spill over to other countries and undermine their own stability.

Gulf States Condemn Syrian Regime

The first of the Arab countries to break its silence over the events in Syria was Qatar. For some time, relations between the two countries have been tense, primarily over the coverage of the protests in Syria by the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera TV. In mid July 2011, Qatar closed its embassy in Damascus and recalled its ambassador after the embassy was attacked by pro-Assad youth protesting Al-Jazeera’s “unprofessional and nonobjective” campaign against the Syrian regime.[2] Later that month, Qatar also hosted a conference of Syrian oppositionists in Doha, much to the resentment of Assad’s regime.[3]

In an official announcement issued August 3, the Qatari government expressed “sorrow over the death of innocent civilians” and called on in Syria “to work toward stopping the bloodshed, cease the use of force, and make haste to implement reforms that will meet the legitimate demands of the Syrian people and ensure Syria’s safety, stability, and national unity.”[5]

An August 5 editorial in the Qatari daily Al-Bayan, titled “Qatar Breaks Its Silence,” listed Qatar’s demands of the Syrian regime: “Syria now needs to completely drop the military option; withdraw its tanks, army regiments, and security forces from the Syrian cities and villages; immediately release all political prisoners and [all] those arrested in the recent events; and hold those involved in murdering the Syrian people accountable – by way of building trust between the regime and the opposition.

After all, any talk of reforms or [new] laws is meaningless as long as the blood is still flowing in the streets of Syria’s cities.”[6]

Arab World Breaks Its Silence over Syria Events; Arab League Secretary-General Takes Lenient Stance vis-à-vis Syrian Regime

The conciliatory tone of Al-‘Arabi’s statements is in line with the pro-Syrian stance he has taken in recent months, both in his capacity as Egypt’s foreign minister and later in his capacity as Arab League secretary-general. In the former capacity, Al-‘Arabi said that Egypt was working to prevent the Western countries from taking a harsh stance against Syria in the Security Council.[19] He even visited Syria on July 13 and met with President Assad. During the visit, he criticized statements by U.S. President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to the effect that Assad had lost the legitimacy to rule, saying that no one had the right to judge the legitimacy of a president other than the people who had chosen him. Al-‘Arabi even stressed that the Arab League had not been pressured to take a resolution regarding Syria similar to the one it took regarding Libya.[20]

Egypt too, which prides itself on its revolution that overthrew the oppressive Mubarak regime, broke its silence only after the GCC did so. Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammad Kamel ‘Amr said that reforms soaked in the blood of the martyrs would be of no avail, and that what was needed was an immediate end to the gunfire. He called for the implementation of internal reforms in order to avoid the danger of unwanted international interference.[21] Al-Azhar Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb voiced his support for the Syrian protestors as well, saying: “Al-Azhar has long been patient and avoided speaking about the situation in Syria due to the sensitive nature of this matter… but the Syrian people has the right for Al-Azhar to declare that the situation has gone too far and that this Arab and Islamic tragedy must be stopped.” He added, “From the perspective of religious law, it is forbidden to keep silent over this human tragedy.”[22]

The Egyptian press likewise addressed the situation in Syria, following months of silence on this matter and a preoccupation with Egypt’s own domestic affairs. An editorial in the daily Al-Ahram called on Syria’s president “to embrace his people, release the prisoners, enact fundamental political reforms, meet the demands of the people for liberty, democracy, and social justice, and dismantle the oppressive police state.” It warned: “If Bashar does not do so, the Syrians will have the right to accuse him of working toward destroying the land, internationalizing the Syrian issue, and necessitating international intervention in his country.”[23]

The Condemnation of Syria – A First Move by the New GCC

The GCC condemnation of the Syrian regime, which prompted the cascade of Arab condemnations, is the GCC’s first successful step as part of its bid to take a leading role in the Arab world and replace the

Arab League, whose status is declining. In the recent months, the GCC has been working to incorporate two non-Gulf countries, Jordan and Morocco, in order to form a bloc of moderate Sunni countries in opposition to Shi’ite Iran; strengthen the monarchic regimes against the possibility of popular uprisings; and position itself as an alternative to the Arab League.[27]

Against this backdrop, the Gulf press attributed much importance to the GCC statement against Syria, presenting it as the unified position of all the Arabs, not just of the Gulf states. The Kuwaiti daily Al-Qabas wrote: “There is no other official Arab stance except the one [expressed by] the Gulf, because the other Arab countries are in the throes of revolutions, some of which have already succeeded and some of which are about to succeed. Hence, the position of the Gulf has recently become synonymous with the Arab position, and this new situation no doubt lends extra weight to the positions of the GCC.”[28]

Dialogue, Not Foreign Intervention

It must be stressed that, despite their condemnations – which could be taken to imply consent to international action against this country, or at least the withdrawal of the Arab support from this regime – the Gulf states oppose international intervention in the Syrian crisis. As a matter of fact, their calls to Assad to change his policies are an attempt to stave off such intervention. An article in the Qatari daily Al-Raya emphasized: “We are against internationalizing [the crisis], though we are also against the killing of the defenseless Syrian people.”[29] An editorial in the Qatari daily Al-Sharq said, in a similar vein: “The Arab regimes and peoples adhere to [their support of] Syria’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity… and oppose foreign intervention in the Syrian [issue]. However, the Syrians must hurry, before it is too late, and resolve the crisis… by means of dialogue between the sides…”[30]

Fear of Sectarian Conflict that Could Destabilize the Region

The Arab countries evidently fear that an escalation in Syria, whether as a result of international intervention or in the absence of such intervention, may destabilize not only Syria but the region as a whole. The scenario feared is one of a violent sectarian conflict between the Shi’ite camp, led by Iran, and the Sunni camp, led by Saudi Arabia, as happened in Iraq after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein’s regime.

Some writers and figures evoked sectarian terms in discussing the crisis. The Gulf press condemned Syria’s reliance on Shi’ite forces, such as the Iraqi government, Iran and Hizbullah, and claimed that “Iran fears that the loss of its ally [Syria] may demolish its dreams of a Persian empire.”[34] Writers also accused Syria of employing Iran-like methods of threatening to activate “sleeper-cells in the Gulf states.”[35] As evidence, they cited statements made by Syrian army officer Sharif Shehada, considered to be a spokesman of the regime, on Al-Arabiya. He said: “Despite Syria’s support of the Gulf states, there is sectarian incitement against it. We could assist the Shi’ites in Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Gulf states [in fighting their Sunni regimes]… but we do not do this.”[36] Some of the sheikhs who supported the Syrian uprising stressed that the regime there is not really Sunni but Shi’ite. For example, Saudi sheikh Saleh Al-Luhaidan called for jihad to overthrow the “Shi’ite” Syrian president, “even if a third of the Syrian people have to die for this.”[37]

This is a long road that is very rough from an intersection with a smooth road contacting it from the northeast a few miles east of Har Ramon. The road then runs to the south to the port of Eilat parallel to an Egyptian road visible across the Sinai border on the opposite side. I have traveled the length of this road, which continues north from the Har Ramon intersection all the way to the Gaza Strip stronghold of Hamas. I have taken what I labeled as a “rough and ready” all male tour to Israel in my younger days, and there have been times the IDF has stopped us, then refused to let us continue without weapons because terrorists were digging tunnels under the road to smuggle weapons into Israel.

Now that Egypt is in a state of “Arab Spring” activity, Israel certainly has reason to expect more terror attacks along this long road from Gaza, particularly along its southern section from Har Ramon to Eilat.

The Merkava series Israeli tanks are placed strategically inside the Negev hills just inside the rough mountains east of the road from Har Ramon to Eilat, and can at times position close enough to be seen looking down on the road.

Seven people were reported dead and at least 25 injured in a three-stage terrorist attack along Israel’s border with Egypt on Thursday.

IDF forces were still searching the area around Eilat and the Egyptian border out of concern that there may be terrorists still in the area. Sources said that it is possible that there were as many 20 terrorist in the area, both in Israel and on the Egyptian side of the border.

They added that there may be another terrorist cell hiding in the area.

IDF and special police counter-terrorist forces killed seven terrorists during the three coordinated attacks.

The terror attack began at noon Thursday when terrorists opened fire at an Egged bus traveling on Road 12 near Eilat.

Several minutes later, a number of bombs went off next to an IDF patrol traveling along the border with Egypt.

There were also reports of mortar fire from Egypt into Israel. The terrorists apparently then moved on to another spot and fired an anti-tank missile at another vehicle, injuring a number of passengers.

Magen David Adom said that terrorists attacked a bus and a private vehicle 20 kilometers north of the site of the first incident. Paramedics said five people there were mortally wounded in that attack.

The casualties were evacuated to Yoseftal Hospital in Eilat. A number of soldiers were among the casualties

IDF soldiers targeted and hit seven terrorists involved in the attacks, according to IDF spokeswoman Avital Leibovich.

“This seems like a coordinated attack,” a senior IDF officer said. There was also speculation that there may have been more than one terror cell coordinating the attacks.

Commander of the IDF’s Edom Division Brig.-Gen. Tamir Yidayi arrived at the scene of the bus attack and set up a command post to coordinate efforts to capture the perpetrators. The IDF suspects that the terrorists infiltrated into Israel after crossing into Egypt possible from the Gaza Strip.

On Sunday, the Egyptian Military launched a massive operation to capture terrorist cells operating in the Sinai.

Due to concern that terrorists had infiltrated into Israel from Egypt, security officers in Israeli communities along the border were ordered to raise the level of alert and to tell residents to remain inside their home.

Authorities set up an emergency telephone number for those affected by the attacks near Eilat: 1255175.

IDF looks to buy US equipment after withdrawal from Iraq

Defense Ministry in talks with Pentagon over equipment, including Humvee combat vehicles for IDF Ground Forces, surplus weapons, ammunition; price of equipment is lower than buying new.

The Defense Ministry is in talks with the Pentagon about the possibility of buying American military equipment that will be retired following the US withdrawal from Iraq.

The advantage in purchasing used military equipment from the US is the price, which is dramatically lower than buying the same equipment new.

The IDF Ground Forces Command is looking to renew its aging fleet of Humvee combat vehicles with ones that the US will be phasing out as it reduces its troop numbers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Israel is also interested in acquiring surplus weapons and ammunition the US will no longer require following the withdrawals.

“It seems that in some cases it is cheaper to sell to other countries than to transport back to the US or bases in Europe,” one defense official said.

Other countries in the region may also try to buy some of the equipment, such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia, which are both longtime customers of the US defense industries.

Saudi Arabia, for example, recently received new Black Hawk helicopters and is purchasing $60 billion worth of advanced American military platforms.

Egypt is also the recipient of $1.3b. in annual foreign military aid from the US, and Congress was recently notified of Pentagon plans to sell the Egyptian military new Abrams tanks. It would be the first major sale to Egypt since the revolution earlier this year.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, the Israel Air Force completed a week of joint maneuvers with the Romanian Air Force in the Carpathian Mountains. It was the first IAF deployment in Romania since the helicopter accident there last summer, although this time it consisted of C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft and not helicopters.

Six IAF servicemen – pilots and technical crew – were killed when a Sikorsky CH-53 Sea Stallion – called Yasour in the IAF – crashed into a mountain during a military exercise in which crews were trained to fly at low altitudes. A Romanian military officer who was observing the IAF crew aboard the helicopter, was also killed.

An IAF inquiry concluded that the accident was most likely the result of human error.

The air force is interested in continuing to train in Romania and particularly in the Carpathian Mountains, which are known for the unstable weather as well as thick forests and high mountains, terrain that Israeli pilots do not often get to train in.

the current operation.

But the Americans trimmed it down after the Lebanon war, ruling out Israeli military scenarios and bringing their own reduced format.

The units taking part are, according to DEBKAfile’s military sources, US Marines, Patriot anti-missile missile crews and special units operating defenses against nuclear, chemical and biological warfare. Israel is fielding its Arrow and Patriot anti-ballistic missiles, its air force, special forces and large armored units.

This year’s operation is testing new ways to deal with missiles capable of carrying nuclear, chemical and biological warheads.

The fourth in the twice-yearly Juniper Cobra series, this is the largest operation ever held in southern Israel’ s Negev de

A US embassy spokesman in Tel Aviv described it as “a computer simulation exercise designed to test the interoperability of the air defense system. The air defense can protect you,” he said, “against whatever happens to be on the warhead.”

Both sides deny any direct connection to Tehran’s threat and its nuclear program, despite fears that Iran is on the way to developing nuclear weapons

and long-range missiles.

New Town in Israel’s Negev: Bahadim City

(IsraelNN.com) The Cabinet unanimously approved this morning (Sunday) the establishment of a new “city” in the Negev – a large collection of army bases, with a roving population of 11,000 career officers and soldiers serving their three-year army stints.

The area is to be called Bahadim, based on the popular acronym for IDF Training Base, Basis Hadrachah. Bahadim City will spread out over 1.25 square kilometers, and hundreds of people will be employed in its construction. It will be located at the Negev Junction, 17 kilometers south of Be’er Sheva and ten kilometers northwest of Yerucham.

“This is a historic moment for the Negev,” Prime Minister Olmert said about the plan, “which brings great tidings for Be’er Sheva and the south. The establishment of Bahadim City will change the face of the entire area, will create thousands of new jobs, and will give a boost to the transfer of quality people to the south.”

Prime Minister’s Office Director Raanan Dinur was slightly more specific, saying, “This will raise the quality of life in the entire area – primarily Be’er Sheva and the nearby Bedouin villages.”

One air force base from the Tel Aviv area has already been relocated to the Negev, with its career personnel living in the area. The technological units of the IDF, including the intelligence and computer units, are also scheduled to be relocated to the south.

It is not clear whether the Gitit training base in Samaria will be included in the move.

Vice Premier Shimon Peres, who served in the past as Minister for the Development of the Negev, said, “This decision is a critical part of the implementation of the plan for the development of the Negev. Bahadim City will be an employment anchor for the area and will help strengthen the entire region.”

Defense Minister Amir Peretz said, “This is a major national project, initiated and led by the defense establishment. It will strengthen both our defense and societal security.”

The plan is also backed by the Health and Environment Ministries, which will work to ensure that pollution from the nearby Ramat Hovav industrial and waste-treatment plant will not contaminate the area.

Archbishop Desmond Tutu, whose role in the fight against South African apartheid in the 1980s gained him the Nobel Peace Prize and global fame, is among the world’s most respected figures.

Barack Obama awarded him the US highest honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Tutu has been called “an inspiration” and was compared to Albert Schweitzer and Gandhi. The Wall Street Journal labeled him “the best known priest in the world.” Tutu was even asked to donate his genome to scientists to discover the African roots of mankind.

With Nelson Mandela in jail, it fell to Tutu to steer the struggle aga

inst institutionalized racial oppression in a nonviolent direction. From his church in segregated Soweto, Tutu urged the imposition of economic sanctions against the white government. Since then, Tutu’s face has become the symbol of tolerance and goodness.

However, the Archbishop’s iconic voice has also found another cause no less popular: The global campaign against Israel and the Jewish people. Tutu just promoted an appeal to the US pension fund of the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association for cutting the partnership with Israeli companies. He also helped the Australian Marrickville Council approve a boycott of Israel’s goods.

Recently, Tutu convinced the University of Johannesburg to end its relationship with Ben-Gurion University as part of a boycott against Israeli academic institutions, resembling the dark time when German universities banned famous Jewish intellectuals such as T.W. Adorno and Albert Einstein.

Archbishop Tutu also promoted the boycott of all Israeli goods by the US Food Co-Cop and he became the poster leader of the Western NGOs promoting campaigns for divestment and sanctions against the Jewish State

Last week, the Archbishop sponsored a call for an arms embargo against Israel. Next November, Tutu will open in Cape Town the third session of the anti-Israeli Russell Tribunal, a stand

ing organization that held two tribunals against Israel last year in Barcelona and London. During this event, Tutu will seek to determine whether Israel’s policies fit the international legal definition of the crime of “apartheid.”

Tutu has ideologically built this conceptual mousetrap of “Zionist apartheid,” where the Jewish question is the cheese and the victim. The Archbishop perfectly knows that charging Israel with apartheid is simply a blood libel, as Arabs and Jews live and work together in Israel, while sharing all public facilities (hospitals, schools, malls, buses, cinemas, parks.)

‘Forgive the Nazis’
Making apartheid accusations against a state that undertook major operations to save black Jews in Africa is ludicrous. But the Christian Archbishop is not interested in preaching the truth, but rather, in promoting the liquidation of Israel, creating a new, horrible Jewish Diaspora. On university campuses worldwide, in the mainstream media and in large parts of Western public opinion, Tutu’s analogy is a very popular cause and “Zionist apartheid” is already the new codeword for racist evil.

Thanks to Tutu, the World Conference against Racism, held by the United Nations in Durban in 2001, was transformed into a racist conference against Israel. In the same city where President Mbeki held his festival of victory against apartheid, another death sentence for the Jews was being pronounced under Tutu’s umbrella and that of the United Nations.

Tutu has demonized the “Jewish lobby” as too “powerful” and “scary,” resorting to a vile myth rooted in anti-Jewish stereotype, whereby the Jews control Washington.

According to Tutu’s horrific and false accusation against the Jewish people, Israel is a sadistically colonialist entity, a blind persecutor of children, and a mad builder of apartheid walls.

Tutu proclaimed, many years before Iran’s Ahmadinejad, that the West had muted criticism of Israel because of guilt over the Holocaust. He has accused Israel of acting in an “un-Christian” way. He has complained of “the Jewish monopoly of the Holocaust” and has demanded that its victims must “forgive the Nazis for the Holocaust,” while refusing to forgive the “Jewish people” for “persecuting others.”

Tutu has asserted that Zionism has “very many parallels with racism.” He has compared Israel to Hitler’s Germany and Stalin’s Soviet Union, saying that they too were once “very powerful” but they “bit the dust,” as will “unjust” Israel. Tutu has claimed that the Christian God sides with the Palestinians, whom he compares to the Israelites under slavery in Egypt.

Tutu is also responsible for the “apartheid wall” mythology that has been one of the most repugnant propagandistic manipulations that Israel has ever suffered, because it is based on ignoring of the cause-effect nexus. All decent people know that Israel is not Soweto. But Tutu resembles those Christian bishops who fomented the Final Solution by the idea that the wandering Jew is the symbol of God’s rejection of the Jewish people.

Tutu’s cassock masks a long, hateful history of ugly intolerance toward the Jewish people and Israel.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) adopted a decision calling on Israel to immediately cease all archaeological works in the Old City of Jerusalem.

In particular, UNESCO, one of the UN’s most prominent and influential agencies, attacked the renovation of the Mughrabi Bridge that links the Western Wall plaza and Temple Mount.

The decision, initiated and promoted by Arab states, was adopted by consensus of the Western members of the commission. Indeed, the vote is the latest anti-Jewish initiative launched by the UN office meant to promote culture, education and science around the world. In fact, UNESCO’s robber barons are sanctifying the current global campaign aimed liquidating the legitimacy of the Israeli regime.

In 2009, UNESCO designated Jerusalem as “capital of Arab culture,” working with Palestinian Authority officials and key Arab figures to protest against what they described as “the Israeli occupation of Holy Jerusalem.” Other cities granted the title over the years were Algiers, Damascus, Cairo, Tunis, Amman, Beirut and Khartoum.

The Arabs find it difficult to convincingly portray Israel as usurper of the land as long as the world believes there is a huge connection between the people of the Bible and the land of the Bible. UNESCO is denying this connection by depicting Jewish history in the Middle East as no more than an insignificant, brief sojourn by arrogant colonizers.

UNESCO appears to deny that the Jewish people has laid its roots in Israel more than 4,000 years ago, or that 1,000 years before Christ, King David made Jerusalem the Jewish city par excellence, never entirely abandoned even in times of deadly persecution.

The City of David in Jerusalem, a major target of UNESCO’s anti-Jewish fury, is now the hottest open archaeological site in the world, with biblical artifacts, ancient burial spots and royal seals. There, UNESCO is using archeology to bash Israel and treats Israeli archeologists as nationalistic martinets.

In recent years, UNESCO increased its collaboration with ISESCO, the cultural body of the Organization of the Islamic Conference. According to ISESCO’s propaganda, the Biblical story and the Jewish temples are only fiction, Jewish monuments are Islamic treasures stolen by the Zionists, and Israeli archeological works are criminal acts against Muslims.

UNESCO’s ideology portrays the Jews as no more than invading colonizers, while the Muslims who invaded the country and ravaged it in the Seventh Century are, by some inexplicable leap, the descendants of the so called “indigenous Canaanites.”

In 2010, UNESCO decided that Rachel’s Tomb and Hebron’s Cave of the Patriarchs are “Muslim mosques.” Western countries didn’t raise any protest. UNESCO never mentioned that in addition to the famous Tomb of the biblical Patriarchs, Hebron contains also the tomb of the first judge (Otniel Ben Kenaz), the tomb of generals and confidants to Saul and David and the tombs of Ruth and Jesse, David’s great-grandmother and father.

There is also no word by UNESCO about the fact that Rachel’s tomb is unanimously revered as the burial site of one of the Bible’s great women, the wife of Jacob, the Jewish blessed mother.

During the Second Intifada, UNESCO condemned Israel for “the destruction and damage caused to the cultural heritage in the Palestinian territories” as “a crime against the common cultural heritage of humanity.” However, UNESCO remained silent when a Palestinian mob destroyed Joseph’s tomb, a major Jewish religious shrine, and built a mosque on the site.

Upon the outbreak of the Second Intifada, Palestinian terrorists also attacked Rachel’s tomb, and for 41 days Jews were prevented from visiting the compound. UNESCO never condemned it. Recently, dozens of graves at the Mount of Olives cemetery in Jerusalem were vandalized, the latest in a series of attacks on Judaism’s oldest cemetery, where Jews have been buried since biblical times.

Again, UNESCO remained silent.

UNESCO also “boasts” a long list of decisions to boycott and isolate the Jewish State. On November 7, 1974, UNESCO voted “to withhold assistance from Israel in the fields of education, science and culture because of Israel’s persistent alteration of the historic features of Jerusalem.” On November 20, 1974 UNESCO voted also to exclude Israel from its European regional group. This anti-Jewish ostracism was not abandoned until 1978, after the United States withheld $40 million in payments from the organization in protest.

UNESCO’s war on Israel and the West continued and was so blatant that in 1984 the US, UK and others Western countries left the organization. In 1989 UNESCO made the claim that “Israel’s occupation of Jerusalem” was destroying the holy city by “acts of interference, destruction and transformation” (then-mayor of Jerusalem, Teddy Kollek, expressed “deep disgust at UNESCO’s attitude.”)

In 1990, UNESCO attacked what it described as the “irreversible” changes to Jerusalem’s architectural heritage resulting from Israeli “occupation.” UNESCO’s apparatchiks decried the “lost loveliness” of the city. In 1993, then-UNESCO director-general Frederico Mayor boycotted an international conference on science in Jerusalem, despite Israel’s history of scintillating enlightenment, like the highest production of scientific publications and museums per capita in the world.

In 1996, UNESCO organized a symposium on Jerusalem at the body’s Paris headquarters. But no Jewish or Israeli groups were invited.

When in 1998 a UNESCO delegation visited Jerusalem, it refused to meet with Israeli officials. In the past, UNESCO also has called for “financial sanctions against Israel” and passed hundreds of resolutions criticizing Israel’s activities in Judea and Samaria.

In 2001, UNESCO promoted the “Cairo Declaration Document for Jerusalem Antiquities Preservation,” which falsely accused Israel of destroying Islamic antiquities on the Temple Mount and in Jerusalem’s Old City in an attempt to divert attention from Palestinian crimes against archeology and history. When the United Nations celebrated its 50th anniversary, UNESCO refused to mention the Shoah in its World War II resolution, intentionally ignoring Israel’s request to include a reference to the destruction of European Jewry.

On a final note, a recent UNESCO report on science, Jewish physician and theologian Maimonides is classified as a Muslim named “Moussa ben Maimoun.” So the Rambam – for Rabbi Moshe Ben Maimon – has been forced to “convert” to Islam by the UN’s revisionist historians.

During the Middle Ages, the French Inquisition confiscated and burned Maimonides’s books. From the elegant Parisian boulevards, UNESCO’s inquisitors are now following the same dreadful solution of rendering history and the Holy Land “Judenrein.”

The Protocols are back

Op-ed: Revival of infamous anti-Semitic book fuelled both by Muslim leaders, Christian clergy

The “Protocols of the Elders of Zion,” a short book concocted by the czarist police and presented as minutes of a secret meeting where Jews plotted world domination, is the biggest falsehood that refuses to die. It’s the only book that has ever had the perverse distinction of being both globally influential and, at the same time, a forgery.

The “Protocols” are now prominently displayed not only in the Middle East, but also on the Western and Christian bookshelf. Books based on the “Protocols” are now available even in countries with hardly any Jews such as Japan.

A Chinese bestseller entitled “The Currency War” and based on the “Protocols,” describes how Jews are planning to control the world by manipulating the financial system. The book is reportedly read in the highest government circles.

Recently, an Iranian stand at the Frankfurt Book Fair presented a copy of the “Protocols” published in English by the Islamic Republic of Iran in plain view. Thousands of Jews have been killed in Europe because of this infamous document. Hitler used it as a manual in his war to exterminate the Jews and Palestinian suicide bombers have been found with the “Protocols” in their pockets.

Renowned historian Bernard Lewis wrote that the “Protocols” were brought into the Islamic world by Christian authors who translated the book into Arabic. That shameful operation is still battering the Middle East. The “Protocols” rarely attracts Western attention, as we like to think that it is just a bad joke. But now some Christian sects and bishops are fomenting hatred against the Jews using traditional ant-Semitism – much of it theological.

Indeed, many bishops are quoting again from the “Protocols.” In an interview with George Saliba, Bishop of the Syrian Orthodox Church in Lebanon, aired on Al-Dunya TV on July 24, 2011, he declared: “The source that finances and incites all these international organizations, in the East and West, and especially in the Arab world, they are led by a single, evil organization, known as Zionism.”

“It is behind all these movements, all these civil wars, and all these evils, using the people of the West – whether in the US, in Europe, or their followers,” he said.

Jews demonized again

The recent boom of anti-Semitic conspiracies, especially in the “new Egypt,” is linked with the revival of the “Protocols”, like the modern twist of accusing Israel of distributing drug-laced chewing gum and candy in the aims of killing children and sexually corrupting Arab women, or the lingerie soaked with invisible ink for coded Jewish messages.

The “Protocols” is being published with new editions in Arabic almost every year, and in Persian and Turkish as well. Listening to “moderate” Muslim leaders (never mind the Ayatollahs) and looking at the vile, racist cartoons in the strictly controlled Arab media (even in Egypt and Jordan, formally at peace with Israel), one sees a pathological hatred that may erupt in unconventional attacks.

Representing “Western corruption,” Jews are demonized again as “vermin,” “a cancer,” intentional spreaders of AIDS through blood transfusion and prostitution.

The conspiracy resembles that of Josef Stalin, who accused six Jewish doctors of plotting to poison the Soviet leader. Even the West Dunbartonshire Council, the Scottish council at the centre of a row over its boycott of Israeli books, admitted it had bought a copy of the “Protocols” in January.

The “Protocols” are now on prominent display at the Malaysian capital’s International Airport, the Hamas charter includes citations of the “Protocols,” and the book can be found in bookstalls on Cairo’s streets. An Arabic translation of the “Protocols” can be also found on the website of the Palestinian Authority’s Ministry of Information.

Last year, renowned leftist Italian philosopher Gianni Vattimo declared that he had “re-evaluated” the “Protocols” and now felt they largely reflect

the truth about the Jews. The Jewish Community Confederation of Venezuela has just lodged a protest with the country’s attorney general, denouncing the promotion of the “Protocols” by a state-owned media outlet.

‘The Jews are God killers’

A few months ago, The Australian revealed that the biggest mosque in central Sydney was selling copies of the inflammatory anti-Semitic book and the “Protocols” is prominently displayed on Edgware Road in the heart of London.

The constant use of the “Protocols” in the Arab media, especially in soap operas during the Ramadan, creates an atmosphere where any charge against the Jews is believed. It does not matter whether the “Protocols” are fact or fiction: their “predictions” have largely come true.

Last December the patriarch of the Antioch Church, Gregory III Laham, declared that there was a “Zionist conspiracy” behind al-Qaeda’s attack on a Catholic church in Baghdad, where 58 innocent parishioners were slaughtered. Richard Williamson, one of four bishops ordained by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre and later rehabilitated by Pope Benedict XVI, said that the “Protocols” are “authentic” and that the Jews are fighting for world domination “to prepare the Anti-Christ’s throne in Jerusalem.”

Last year, Giacomo Babini, the emeritus bishop of Grosseto, said that he believed a “Zionist attack” was behind the criticism against the Church on sexual abuse. Babini was quoted by Catholic website Pontifex as saying: “They do not want the Church, they are its natural enemies. Deep down, historically speaking, the Jews are God killers.” The Bishops’ Conference later rushed to issue a statement quoting Babini denying he had ever given the interview.

While there is in fact no Jewish conspiracy to submit the world, there is an anti-Jewish conspiracy that is infecting the minds and the hearts of millions of people, in the West and elsewhere. Next month Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who claimed to have distributed the “Protocols” to expose “the real visage of this satanic enemy” (Israel) and to “burn and wholly destroy this deadly, cancerous tumor”, will speak at the United Nations’ conference on racism in New York.

But most tragic is that an Iranian Shihab-3 missile fired from Tehran to Tel Aviv would take 12 minutes to hit the Jews. The greatest forgery and blood libel is again fomenting a Jewish catastrophe, now with the shameful complicity of some Christian bishops. The “Protocols” was first published in Russia in 1905 by a Christian priest, Sergius Nilus. One century later the word “Jew” has become again an accepted insult in the global square.

The Seals, the Trumpets, and the Vials of Revelation

Part 1 – Beginning with comments about all the Seals followed by Seal 1

In October 2003, I presented the seventh trumpet pre-wrath position at the Missionary Baptist Seminary in Midwest City, Oklahoma, over a period that lasted from 8 A.M. to 10:30 P.M., with a break for lunch and dinner, and several short breaks for water and circulation relief. I am very grateful to one of the fine pastors there for a question he asked concerning the seven seals.

He asked me where I placed them.

I had not discussed them, and he wanted to be able to envision where I put them. I am grateful he asked me, because it suddenly made me very aware of something I knew, but had not really thought about for years. I covered the seals in my second book, “The Tribulation Triad,” when I wrote it in the late seventies, but during the 25 years I have lectured in more than 700 churches, seminaries, colleges, and universities I have never, to the best of my recollection, discussed the six seals as to “where” they fit in the tribulation period. I have discussed what they represent at great length, but simply did not position them as to where they belong in the tribulation period. There is a very good reason as to why I never placed them specifically in the tribulation period – I do not believe the first five occur during the tribulation period, and that the first four describe the events Jesus referred to as “the beginning of sorrows” in Matthew 24:7,8, Mark 13:8, and Luke 21:10,11.

Matthew 24:7,8 – For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. [8] All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Mark 13:8 – For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

Luke 21:10,11 – Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: [11] And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

I certainly do not believe we are now in the tribulation period, because I have long taught the first seal opened following the end of World War I on this planet, and that the others began to open in chronological when World War II began. I should have presented this series at the time we started on this web site several years ago, but better late than never.

It is diagrammatically pictured on page 154 of my book, “The Tribulation Period – 777.” Even though I did not believe the first part of the tribulation period would last three and one-half years because I believed the three “he’s” in Daniel 9:27 are Messiah the Prince, and not the antichrist, knowing the v ast majority of the prophetic teachers of today believe it is the antichrist, I showed the first three and one-half years on my diagram, and jammed all of it

as occurring during the fifth seal. I believe when seal six opens it starts the last three and one half years of the tribulation. I do believe there will be a brief period of false peace just before the opening of the sixth seal, during the time of the fifth seal, but it will be of much, much shorter duration that most believe today. I have always taught that the sixth seal is a preview of all the horrifying events that will occur from the seventh seal through the seven trumpets and seven vials. At the time I wrote “The Tribulation Triad” I placed the time of Satan’s casting out of heaven (Revelation 12:7-12) in what most identify as the first three and one half years of a seven-year tribulation period. I have since changed my mind. Do I still change my mind about prophecy

? I do not change my mind about the doctrines of salvation, the ordinances of the church, or that Jesus is coming, but I do indeed continue to change my mind about the many things in prophecy. If you are not prepared to do that, you will never learn anything. The only one who could lecture about prophecy, and never have to correct what he taught, is the Great Three-In-One.

I feel sorry for all those who think they got it right the first time, and still teach exactly the same things they taught when they first taught prophecy fifty years ago. I have changed what I once believed about some things, and hopefully, if I don’t grow to think I am God, and understand it as well as He does, I will continue to change. God got it right the first time, the rest of us will have to keep changing our minds if we want to be more accurate in our interpretation of what God already knows.

I will begin this series with the first seal and, if the Lord is willing, will go through the seals, and then identify how I believe the seals, trumpets, and vials are laced into a pattern from the seventh seal through the last vial.

Again, I am grateful I was asked where the seals fit in the tribulation period, because it made me realize that what I have long believed about it had become such so engrained in me that I proceeded like the hearer already knew where I placed them, which was a real goof on my part. I knew that the vast majority of writers place the seals in what is known as the tribulation period. Knowing this, I should have explained the seal positioning at some point before he asked the question, and it suddenly made me realize that I should have put this on our web pages when we first began. So I will be putting it out on updates for some time, giving the seals in chronological order.

The riders on the first four seals do not picture specific individuals – they do not represent men, but rather all of mankind. They represent four phases through which mankind will pass preceding the tribulation period. I do not believe the tribulation period has seven full years, because Jesus fulfilled more than three years of it after his baptism. The horse colors portray the characteristics of four phases in chronological order: white for peaceful conquests, red for the blood shed in wars, black for the dark eyes associated with famine, and pale for the color of death associated with pestilence or a corpse.

Seal 1

Revelation 6:1,2 – And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. [2] And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering,

and to conquer.

The first great world war to engulf all the known world that existed when John wrote the book of Revelation in about 96 A.D. during the great Roman Empire, which was the fourth beast of Chapter Seven in Daniel, out of which a final revived empire of antichrist was to arise in the latter days, was what we called World War I. Out of World War I came the B alfour Decl

aration, which did finally lead to the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948. The Balfour Declaration was a British statement of policy issued in 1917 by Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour. It stated British support for a Jewish national home in Palestine without prejudice to the rights of the non-Jewish population.

The white horse rider represents the state of mankind that existed between the two great world wars that occurred between two German tyrants. The color of the horse, like a white dove, symbolizes the state of peace that existed between 1918 and 1932 across the territories recognized as the Roman Empire during its maximum extent. I believe most of the prophecies in the book of Revelation will be fulfilled across the known world of John’s day, not in the western hemisphere.

A long series of conquests by Hitler’s shaking of the bow, without firing any arrows, allowed the relative peace to continue until 1939. He was able to occupy several of the lands to his west, southwest, south, and southeast by a series of bluffs, without firing a shout. They succumbed to his threats, and he occupied large sections of nations around Germany.

Threats, rather than arrows, secured him much land. The Prime Minister of Great Britain, Arthur Neville Chamberlain, followed a policy appeasing Hitler, rather than confronting him. So, in 1938, he went to Germany and signed the Munich Pact, which allowed Hitler to occupy part of Czechoslovakia. It was a time of peace where those who “went forth conquering, and to conquer,” did so by bluff rather than by blood. He returned home with the cry “Peace in our times.” The first of the four horse riders has come and gone.

He departed the scene when Hitler invaded Poland in 1939. That is when the red horse rider came on the scene. I will cover his activities in Part 2. The number of wars did increase after World War II then declined after the great Soviet Union collapse, but they have never stopped, and the red blood of Americans and the rest of the world is still flowing in the Middle East.

The Tectonic Chaos of the Tribulation Period will not begin until the opening of Seal 6, and its full wrath fury will not come on the earth until Vial 1 is poured out on an unbelieving world, which ends with the greatest wrath of Vial 7.

Revelation 6:12 – And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

Revelation 16:1,2 – And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. [2] And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

Revelation 16:16-21 – And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. [17] And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. [18] And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. [19] And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. [20] And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
