Assad is ’World’s Most Dangerous Man’ says Joel Brinkley

Syrian President Bashar Assad is the world’s “most dangerous man,” according to Pulitzer Prize winner journalist Joel Brinkley, who added that the Obama government has “delusional views” of the dictator.

Writing for Tribune Media Services, Brinkley said Assad overshadows Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for being dangerous because the “duplicitous dictator…has duped presidents and prime ministers into believing he is their indispensable friend – even as he facilitates the killing of American troops, collects weapons of mass destruction and serves as the supply master for terrorist groups.”

After the Muslim uprisings spread to Syria last month, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton labeled Assad a “reformer,” a remark that Brinkley branded as “absurd.”

“Even now, as his own people have at last taken to the streets to challenge his rule, prompting him to shoot and kill scores of them, Washington’s criticism remains equivocal,” Brinkley wrote. “A few days ago, President Obama remarked, ‘I strongly condemn the abhorrent violence committed” by the Syrian government but then added, ‘I also condemn any use of violence by protesters.’ So both sides are equal offenders?”

The love affair between Syria and the United States, which sees Assad as the key to a regional peace and the eventual possessor of the strategic Golan Heights in Israel, goes back for decades.

Then-Secretary of State Henry Kissinger once remarked, “There can be no war without Egypt and no peace without Syria,” Brinkley recalled, and added, “Last month, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said she told Assad, ‘The road to Damascus is the road to peace.’”

Brinkley said the Obama administration’s views of Assad are “delusional” when considering that “since the Iraq war’s beginning, [Assad] has been the best friend of Islamic extremists transiting into Iraq. They’ve crossed the Syrian border by the busload, in full view of U.S. spy satellites.

“He sells missiles to Hizbullah, the terrorist group in southern Lebanon that is the avowed enemy of Israel and the United States.

“Khaled Mashaal, the Hamas leader, actually lives in Damascus and does his murderous business openly from a storefront.

American intelligence shows that Syria has a vast store of chemical weapons. Assad pursued a secret nuclear-weapons development program until Israel bombed it in 2007. More recent intelligence suggests that he is back at it, though this time the program is better hidden.”

Brinkley added his name to countless analysts who have questioned why President Obama backed the ouster of American ally Hosni Mubarak while trying to work with Assad, “who has openly worked against Washington.”

The journalist pointed out that the day after President Obama sent a new ambassador to Damascus, Assad hosted a state visit by Ahmadinejad. “The timing was no accident,” Brinkley concluded.

Syrian deaths soar as tanks, snipers, commandos mow down civilians

Bashar Assad has launched all-out war on his people. Tanks firing artillery, APCs, infantry units, commandoes and snipers were deployed for the first time at daybreak Monday, April 25 in cities across Syria for the most brutal assault on any Arab anti-government protest in the four-month uprising.

In the first few hours, hundreds are estimated to have been massacred (over and above the 350 shot dead in the last three days) and thous

ands injured. Denied medical attention, they are left in the streets to die.

that protest centers in cities with populations of 2-3 million have been stormed by Syrian troops backed by tanks firing automatic 120-mm guns at random, commandoes dropped by helicopter and snipers.

The military offensive to break the back of the uprising (which DEBKAfile Saturday, April 23 first disclosed Assad had decided to launch) is led by his younger brother Maher Assad at the head of the Republican Guard and the 4th Division which is made up mostly of the Assad’s Alawite clan. Its first target Sunday night was the southern town of Deraa where the protest movement began and the Mediterranean coastal town of Jableh.

Monday, Syria shut its land borders to Jordan to conceal the scale of the carnage inflicted on the border town of Deraa from outside eyes. Foreign correspondents have been banned from the country since the uprising began.

Monday, indiscriminate fire was also reported in Duma, a dissident suburb of the capital Damascus.

By Monday afternoon, thousands of soldiers had spread out across the North, South and Center of the country, apparently preparing to storm the large cities and protest centers of Hama, Homs, Latakiya and the Kurdish north.

While times may have changed, Bashar is his father’s son. In 1982, President Hafez Assad turned his artillery on a district of Hama and slaughtered 25-30,000 civilians to smash a Muslim Brotherhood revolt. The operation was commanded by Rifat Assad, Bashar’s uncle, today an opposition leader in exile.

Sunday, April 24, DEBKAfile reported: Bashar Assad’s tanks and infantry made their first assaults Sunday night, April 24 on Jableh on the Mediterranean and Daraa in the south, after a 48-hour bloodbath by his security forces claiming up to 350 lives failed break the five-week countrywide uprising against his rule. Video-clips show tanks converging on the two towns with soldiers running in their wake while heavy gunfire continued to resound in Hama, al-Nuaimeh near Daraa and Saraqeb, southwest of Aleppo.

The Syrian ruler continues to ignore all the evidence that by massacring civilian protesters he has only magnified their numbers and Sunday decided to press ahead with his last resort for piling on the violence by deploying trained infantry men and tanks in a final attempt to smash the five-week uprising, DEBKAfile’s military sources report.

The southern epicenter of the uprising Daraa has resisted the most ruthless attempts to suppress its protest rallies. Less has been heard about Jableh, a town of 80,000 situated between Banias and Latakia. Anti-Assad demonstrators have barricaded themselves inside the Abu Bakr Siddiq Mosque, one of Syria’s main Sufi centers.

Saturday, April 23 saw the constantly mounting uprising against the Assad regime finally reaching the Syrian capital Damascus where DEBKAfile reports 300,000 – 15 percent of the city’s dwellers – took the streets shouting: “Bashar Assad you are a traitor!” That day too the Syrian ruler unleashed his security forces for the harshest crackdown yet in order to break the back of the five-week civil uprising.

The result: 350 dead, tripling the number of Friday’s bloodbath and thousands of injured.

Early Sunday, secret service thugs hauled thousands of protesters out of their homes.

They broke down doors in the Harasta and Ghouta districts of Damascus, dragged their victims out and dumped them on covered trucks which drove off to unknown destinations. Ghouta is the ancient garden quarter of Damascus.
The growing number of injured are condemned to being treated privately or not at all. The authorities have commandeered ambulances to prevent them reaching hospital and hospital wards are raided by security agents who eitheir kill the wounded or arrest them.

DEBKAfile’s military and intelligence sources reported that Assad will decide fin ally at noon Sunday, April 24, whether to muster

all 11 divisi ons of his army and let them loose

on the uprising. We reported Friday that the embattled Syrian president had ordered the troops to start moving into the cities the next day. Our sources later reported that he reversed his order at the last minute, reluctant to throw his last card into his desperate bid for survival for fear of a fatal backlash. Some units had already left their bases and remain parked outside the targeted cities awaiting orders to go in.

As the unrest against his rule gains ground, the Syrian president’s options are shrinking. Small numbers of security forces can no longer venture into some of the more troubled areas of

the country where armed protesters reign unless accompanied by large-scale strength with massive fire power.

DEBKAfile reported Friday night:

Syrian army units were already sighted heading towards the cities, joined for the first time by troops normally on duty on at the Syrian-Israel border.

DEBKAfile’s military sources disclose their assignments:

Corps No. 1 was given responsibility for the capital Damascus and its outlying towns and districts;

Corps No. 2 was to take charge of central Syria and the towns of Aleppo, Homs and Hama;

Corps No. 3 was to spread out in the south and Jebel Druze.

It was the last straw for Assad when Friday, the strategic town of Katana west of Damascus was drawn into the protest movement and rallied against his regime. Katana houses the main bases of the Syrian armored corps, which is part of the 7th Division, and serves as divisional logistical administration center. Its population is made up mostly of the officers, men and civilian personnel serving at those bases.
Having Katana turn against the regime finally persuaded its leaders to throw every resource it had into crushing the uprising.

For the Syrian ruler, deploying the entire army is a wild gamble because more than 75 percent of Syria’s 220,000-strong rank and file are Sunni Muslims, Kurds and Druzes and therefore drawn from ethnic and religious groups long repressed by the Alawite-dominated regime.

Uniformed troops might well flout orders to shoot live rounds into crowds of protesters who are members of their community or even family.

It would start the break-up of the Syrian army amid large-scale defections of officers and men.

Out of the current maize of uprising in the Middle East 10 kings will eventually seek to unite against Israel, and the 11th king will be the Antichrist who will lead them.

Revelation 17:12,13 –And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. [13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

They will sweep south to Beersheba, the gate to the Negev Wilderness, and Israel will halt there, but Jerusalem will fall, and remain in Islamic hands for some three and one-half years (a time, times, and the dividing of time – 1260 day).

Revelation 12:6 – And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

One Third of Israel will survive in the Negev Wilderness for three and one-half years

A truce will be declared and the 10 Islamic nations will divide the spoils of war in the midst of Jerusalem, the capital city of Jerusalem. The truce will continue for some three and one-half years.

Israel will remain surrounded for some three and one-half year in the vast Negev Wilderness by an Antichrist Caliphate. Changes in times of Worship and Shariah Law will be instituted in his Caliphate.

The single Battle of Armageddon will break out near the end of the three and one-half year period.

In this last great battle the Lord fights for Israel and delivers her.

Zechariah 14:4 – And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

This is how Armageddon ends at the Second Advent of Jesus!

Zechariah 14:5 – And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

The called , and chosen, and faithful will have been caught out before the 7 vials of God’s wrath are pored out on earth. They will have been judged for rewards by the Lord Jesus in heaven while the vials are being poured, and will return to earth with Him at His Second Advent.

Advocating an American ‘Islamic State’ and Shariah Law in the United States

The English-language website shariah4america.com is a website advocating the establishment of a global Islamic caliphate and shariah law in the United States.

It features articles and graphics detailing the dismantling of American and international institutions, such as the United Nations and the White House;

American monuments, such as the Statue of Liberty and the Washington Monument; and details the various steps that will take place in economics, law, and foreign policy after the establishment of an “Islamic state.”

The website is apparently run by the British Islamist Sheikh Anjem Choudary, who is prominently featured on

the various pages. Choudary headed the British group “Islam 4 UK” until it was proscribed as a terrorist organization in 2010. He has also taken part in the activities of “Shariah 4 Belgium,” an Islamist group calling for the establishment of Shariah law in Belgium and Holland.

The website also features Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad, a Syrian born Islamist cleric who lived in the U.K. for nearly 20 years before leaving for Lebanon.

He is currently banned from returning.

The website’s IP address is 209.15.238.85, and it is hosted by an Atlanta-based web hosting company. Following is a description of the website’s content:

The website’s home page includes a banner featuring the text: “Shariah 4 America. A call for revolution” and an image of the American flag in the shape of the continental U.S. being taken over by the banner of Islam. The bottom part of the page features the text: “Commun ism

The world community is NOW crying louder for Middle East “Peace and safety” than ever before.

Mankind’s carnal characteristics have come to their fullness as it was before the great flood of Noah and at Sodom and Gomorrah.

The Earth’s subterranean, surface, and atmosphere are manifesting a mini preview of phenomena that will soon increase in intensity.

Isaiah 29:6 –Thou shalt be visited of the Lord of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.

For believers who will receive it, John the Baptist was our Elijah, but the Elijah of unbelieving Israel will soon come on the scene in Israel “before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.”

Malachi 4:5 – Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:

This is the fate of those in the Tribulation who do not heed his warning.

Malachi 4:1 – For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

This is the fate of those who believe in the Sun of Righteousness.

Malachi 4:2,3 – But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. This is the Second Advent of the Sun of Righteousness

This is the Fate of the blood washed believers who return with Him at His Second Advent.

Pressure mounts for Netanyahu peace plan

JERUSALEM – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is under mounting pressure to present his own peace plan rather than be faced with an imposed solution or the unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state.

President Shimon Peres, Israel’s elder statesman and a Nobel peace laureate, was the latest to add his voice to the growing chorus, urging Netanyahu to act before events overtake him.

“If we don’t want foreign plans, the best way would be a plan of our own, and if we do that, others won’t go ahead with theirs,” Peres said on Friday.

Peres was responding to reports indicating that US President Barak Obama was preparing to lay out his own vision for a peace settlement between Israel and the Palestinians.

First reported in the New York Times, it said the vision “could include four principles, or terms of reference … (which) could call for Israel to accept a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders” of before that year’s Middle East war.

It also suggested the Palestinians could have to forgo the right of return to land inside Israel, that Jerusalem would be the capital of both states, and would also include principles safeguarding Israel’s security.

Netanyahu has said he will deliver a policy speech to the US Congress in late May, where he is expected to present his plan.

But it’s not just the fear of being pre-empted by Obama and a settlement imposed by the United States that is spurring calls for immediate and far reaching action.

The move is expected to take place in September, when the UN General Assembly holds its annual meeting.

The Palestinians have already won recognition from several South American nations and on Thursday France said European nations were also considering recognising a Palestinian state.

“Recognition of the state of Palestine is one of the options which France is considering, with its European partners” in a bid to relaunch the peace process,” French ambassador Gerard Araud told a UN Security Council debate on the Middle East.

Defence Minister Ehud Barak, one of Netanyahu’s closest allies, has warned that Israel “faced a diplomatic tsunami.”

“There is an international movement for the recognition of a Palestinian state within 1967 borders,” Barak said, warning that only an Israeli “diplomatic initiative” could limit the risks to Israel.

Adding to international pressure on Israel is the turmoil in the region churned up by the “Arab Spring.”

“The Europeans in particular are constantly telling us that Israel must make concessions to meet the wave of protests in Arab countries and restart negotiations with the Palestinians, as if the two cases were linked,” a senior Israel official told AFP on condition

of anonymity.

“In fact, these movements differ from country to country and should rather encourage us to be cautious and wait to see what happens” said the official.

Netanyahu is likely to continue with the cautious approach.

The Israeli leader has so far rejected dividing Jerusalem, wants to hold on to all major Israeli settlement blocs in the occupied West Bank and to keep Israeli troops on the West Bank’s eastern border with Jordan.

This, he argues, will prevent the West Bank turning into a base for Iranian supplied missiles like the other areas from which Israel has pulled back: the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon.

But Israeli officials concede this is unlikely to lure the Palestinians back to the negotiating table.

“I don’t see them coming back to the negotiating table. Their strategy is that they don’t want to negotiate, so you can’t force them,” Deputy Prime Minister Dan Meridor told AFP last week.

Palestinian Legislative Council Deputy Speaker and Hamas Senior Official: The Revolutions in the Arab World – A Prelude to an Islamic Caliphate

In an interview with the Qatari daily Al-Raya, Ahmad Bahr, deputy speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) and a senior official in Hamas, said that the 2008-2009 war in Gaza had been one of the causes of the revolutions in the Arab world. He added that these revolutions, against dictatorships that the West had installed in the Arab countries in order to plunder their resources, heralded the establishment of an Islamic Caliphate. He also said that the opening of the Rafah border crossing and the lifting of the siege on Gaza in the wake of the Egyptian revolution would strengthen the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, and stressed that Hamas hopes to achieve a reconciliation agreement with Fatah that will be “far removed from” the Oslo Accords and the security coordination with Israel.

Following are excerpts of the interview:

An End to Palestinian Schism – A Religious, Moral and National Imperative

Q: “How does [the PLC] view the youth activity aimed at [promoting] intra-Palestinian reconciliation, which has recently surfaced?”

A: “I think that Gaza – which, during the Al-Furqan War [Hamas’s name for the Gaza War], stood bare-chested [in the path of] the Israeli tanks, out of belief in the need to achieve victory and honor – was present in Al-Tahrir Square,

in Tunisia, in Libya, in Yemen, and in every uprising against oppression.

Our battle with the Jews is what changed the balance [of power] on the ground and boosted the self-confidence of the Arab and Muslim youth. Therefore, we are first and foremost proud of our restraint and perseverance. We succeeded in overcoming that criminal force and in realizing the words of Allah: ‘How often has a small party vanquished a numerous host by Allah’s leave, and Allah is with the steadfast [Koran 2:249].’

“As to ending the schism and [achieving intra-Palestinian] reconciliation, it is a religious, moral and national imperative. I appreciate the efforts of the youth who are striving for a [united] Palestine, but because the Egyptian document met with obstacles, we must lay down rules for the reconciliation: We want a leadership that feels the ‘pulse’ of the street, and we want reconciliation [based on] the unwavering Palestinian principles, far removed from the Oslo [Accords], the security coordination [with Israel], the American veto, and the Zionist intervention, and in accordance with the principle of which Allah spoke: ‘Allah loveth them who battle for His cause in ranks, as if they were a solid structure.'” [Koran 61:4]

Q: “How does the PLC view the wave of youth revolutions sweeping the Arab street?”

A: “There is no doubt that the [practices of the Arab dictatorships] – the violation of people’s dignity, the denial of their rights, the denial of justice and liberty, the spread of oppression and of moral and financial corruption, the holding of elections as a [mere] formality, followed by the announcement of [the ruling party’s] victory by imaginary margins, and the usurpation of power by force – are what aroused the rage of the Arab peoples and caused them to rise up in order to restore their liberty and rights. In Egypt, considered the most important country in the Arab and Islamic world, there are the Camp David Accords, which have kept the Egyptian people in fetters, and there is [the issue of the natural] gas, which is sold to the Zionist citizen at a cheaper price than to the Egyptian citizen. An analogy can made to what happened in Tunisia and Libya… As a legislative council, we support the peoples who rebelled against the corrupt regimes, and the restoration of liberty and justice.

“I would like to say that these [revolutions] are [merely] a prelude to the Islamic Caliphate… [whose establishment] the Prophet [Muhammad] foretold in the hadith: ‘You will have the prophecy, according to Allah’s will. Then will He put an end to it, according to His will. And then there will be a Caliphate by way of prophecy, according to the will of Allah… And there will be a biting kingdom [i.e., an oppressive rule], according to the will of Allah… [and then] a kingdom of coercion, according to the will of Allah… Then there will be a Caliphate by way of prophecy,’ etc. The [term] ‘kingdom of coercion,’ as the hadith [commentators] explained, refers to the dictatorships that oppressed, cheated, killed, and destroyed. These were [created by] Western and American industry, which paved the way for the plundering of all the [Muslim] ummah’s resources – its oil and its agriculture.

I hope that this awakening heralds the establishment of a Caliphate by way of prophecy, according to the will of Allah…”

Q: “Will the change on the Arab street have a positive effect on the Palestinian cause?”

A: “I believe that it will… When the regime in Egypt fell, Israel shook with fear for [its fate and for the fate] of its agreements [with the Arab countries, because] it believed that the Egyptian regime was the greatest supporter of the Zionist presence in Palestine. The opening of the Rafah border crossing and the lifting of the siege on the [Gaza] Strip are a step on the path that leads to support for the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, and to the strengthening of its role and its voice…”
The Negotiations With Israel Have Failed

Q: “How surprised were you by the documents that were leaked by Al-Jazeera [TV]?”

A: “We were not surprised at all… I think that the resignation of Saeb ‘Erekat, the most veteran of the Palestinian negotiators, is decisive proof that the negotiations program has failed. This matter [i.e., the document leak] also exposed before the entire world that the Palestinian negotiator has not achieved a thing over the course of 20 years; in fact, he has given the Zionist entity a green light to continue [its building of] settlements, its Judaization of Jerusalem, and its kidnappings, arrests, and deportations – and the settlements did [indeed] expand.

“Nor will Obama achieve anything, since he is weak in the face of the Zionist lobby, which is threatening his reelection for a second term in office.”[1]

The Coming Messiah of Islamic Tradition!

Our computer was down for some time recently, and I have been flooded with requests since we got our new system functioning. I hope to eventually get around to answering all of them, but there were a couple I thought I would answer in the form of Prophecy Updates, since they pertain to the Middle East scenario. One involved a request for information about a person that I have long believed would arise out of Islam. During my 20 plus years in military service, from time to time I went to school with the followers of Islam, and trained one in meteorological severe weather prediction at the Federal Office building in Kansas City, Missouri. The request involved a traditional teaching involving the arrival of an Islamic Imam Mahdi (al-Imam al-Mahdi) at the end of this last age before the resurrection. The word Imam means “to walk before,” and carries the title of Caliph, and the word “Mahdi” means “a leader, and a spiritual guide and director.” The Muslims expect this leader and prophet to appear on the earth before the world ends, and he is expected to be the Moslem Messiah. The belief is based on thousands of traditions that claim to go all the way back to the Koran, but I have never been able to find a legitimate reference in the Koran without twisting its context. Of course, I do not believe Islamic tradition or the Koran, but what I believe is beside the point. The point is that most Muslims do believe it. So when a man does arise among them they can label as an Imam Mahdi, then I believe he will be the antichrist of which the Bible teaches, which I do believe, and it will make it much easier for some 700 million Muslims, which live in the Middle East, to follow him in a great and united Jihad against Israel.

Even though it cannot be found in the Koran, there are a large number of learned Muslims who claim the belief in Mahdi was widespread during Muhammad’s lifetime among them.

Many say on more than one occasion he had announced the future coming of the Mahdi, and that at times he would inform the people about Mahdi’s wonderful government, plus the signs preceding his rise among the people.

Ancient Islamic documents do quote the Prophet as saying: “The world will not come to an end until a man from my family line, who will be called al-Mahdi, emerges to rule my community.” A couple of other quotes from Islamic documents are also valuable in understand Muslim beliefs on this subject; one makes a statement that is quoted as having been uttered by the Prophet three times: “Listen to the good news about the Mahdi! He will rise at the time when the people will be faced with severe conflict and the earth will be hit by a violent quake. He will fill the earth with justice and equality as it is filled with injustice and tyranny. He will fill the hearts of his followers with devotion and will spread justice everywhere (Mihal, Vol. 1, p .256: Firaq, p. 62).” And, in Milal, Vol. 1, pp. 273, 278 and Firaq, pp. 67, 80, 83, the Prophet has declared: “The day of Resurrection will not take place until the True Qa’im rises. This will happen when God permits him to do so. Anyone who follows him will be saved, and anyone who opposes him will perish. O servants of God, keep God in your mind and go towards him even if it happens to be on the ice, for indeed he is the Caliph of God, the Exalted and Glorified, and my successor.”

Shiites revere 12 Imams historically, the last of whom is believed to be currently in hiding, but will make himself known to Islam as the al-Mahdi in the last days of this age. There is also a traditional teaching that he will rise from the dead before the end of time.

The subject of Imams is what led to the great split in the Islamic ranks between the Sunni, the largest party, and the Shiite, the second largest party. But the Kurds and other splinter groups also have their religious Imams, which is one of the major reasons there can never be a democracy in Iraq, because of the bitter enmity between the Islamic divisions. However, if a strong leader, with great religious charisma, should arise out of hiding to unite them all in the belief he was the Imam Mahdi of Islamic tradition with the power of Allah, the fanaticism of the Muslims would create much more than just an occasional suicide bomber – It would generate a massive flood of millions charging across the northern border of Israel unafraid of death. Of course, I do not believe the Koran or the traditional teachings of Islam. I decided long ago, from Micah 5:1-9, that the antichrist would be of Assyrian lineage, and would come out of the area that included Lebanon, extreme southern Turkey, Syria, northern Iraq, or the extreme tip of northwestern Iran (See Prophecy Updates 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, and 69 in our Prophecy Archives). And I am confident he will be of the Islamic faith (See Prophecy Updates 160B and 161C in our Prophecy Archives). If you really want your eyes opened to what was taught prophetically before 1740, then check out the following Prophecy Updates in our archives: 73D, 74A, 78, 82A, 114A, 117B, 56, 57, 58, 123B and 123D. It may be you will discover that what is going on now in the Middle East fits what pre-1740 prophetic teachings indicated would be happening, in the last days, more accurately than the twentieth century popular teachings of end time events. As I stated earlier, I do not believe the Koran or Islamic traditional teaching, but it is ironic that they are primed to receive the one we call the antichrist from their own writings, which identify him as their Messiah. Before too much longer I expect a man from within the area I previously identified, probably Syria, to be manifested as someone behind which all Muslims can unite to meet their goal of driving Israel out of the land from Dan to Beersheba, and with a view toward overcoming all the infidels in the name of Allah. Whoever wins the 2008 U.S. Presidency may still be in office when the Mahdi of Islam manifests himself in the Middle East.

Having gone to military schools, lived among, worked with, and trained those of the Islamic faith as a much younger man, plus being familiar with prophecy since my youth, I have not only been waiting for many years for the true Messiah, Jesus Christ, but I have also been waiting for the arrival of the 12th Imam on the scene prior to the arrival of Jesus. I have long believed the 12th Imam Mahdi will be the 11th little horn of Daniel, and the beast of John’s Revelation.

I have long identified him as the leader of the 10 toes of Daniel’s great latter day empire of the descendants of the descendants of the twelve sons of Ishmael and the six sons of Keturah, all of them being the sons of Abraham. In all my books, the first written in the seventies, I have never swerved from identifying the ten toes as being Islamic nations. As I have written in many Archive Prophecy Updates and Blogs, in Genesis Ishmael is called a “wild” man as Abraham’s descendant. The Hebrew word translated “wild” is donkey, a wild ass, which has long been manifested by the inability of Islamic nations to get along with each other or any other nation for very long.

So, one of the things I did not know, when I wrote my first book, was how in heavens name you could ever get clay and iron to come together, and hold long enough to form a temporary latter day empire. It would be as difficult as trying to keep a herd of wild asses together in a wilderness with no fences.

Daniel 2:41-43 – And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.

[41] And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. [42] And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. [43] And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

I knew that God would put it into their hearts to come together, but I did not understand the instrument he would use to being their hearts together into the unholy union of Jewish and infidel destruction.

Revelation 17:12,13 – And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. [13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. [17] For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

It finally all came together for me with the rise of

Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan, where he was successful in driving out the Soviet army by Islamic Jihad guerilla warfare. The 9/11 attack left no doubt that the world’s future was headed for the rise of Islamic fanaticism, which is

the instrument that is uniting the 10 toes, the 10 horns, in a common united cause, namely, the destruction of Israel, and other infidel nations that do not honor their Prophet Muhammad and Allah.

There is no question in my mind that Islamic Jihad is the spirit of the antichrist. All that Islam masses need is for a man to show up who they will accept as the 12th Imam, and they will unite as surrendered souls to follow him to the death.

We have gotten a taste of the fever of Islamic Jihad fanaticism in the French Riots, and the devoted religious extremism over cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad has triggered riots, burnings, and deaths across Europe and the Middle East in many of the countries and states. It is this religious Islamic fever that will unite all Arabs under the banner of the 12th Imam when he arises. If you think what seems to the West to be isolated extremism, from the lips and actions of the current Iranian President, is just a microscopic cult belief, you are quite wrong. The Shiites are the most zealous of the Muslims in their devotion to the 12th Imam, but the Sunni also have their own version of him, as do virtually all of the branches of the Muslim faith. I know this by my association with Islamic believers from many countries.

Islamic Jihad is the Spirit of Antichrist!

While many continue to await the rise of the antichrist in the European Union, the spirit of antichrist is making a path for his appearance in the Islamic world. Islam considers us to be the “big devil” and Israel the “little devil.” How ironic that Satan himself is the “big devil” they worship as Allah, and his son, the antichrist, will be the “little devil,” who leads 10 Arab nations against Israel in a united spirit of Jihad.

Five Islamic terrorist groups, including al-Qaida in Iraq, denounced Thursday’s elections in Iraq as a great “satanic project.” They vowed to continue their Jihad to establish an Islamic regime. They claim the election of free choice by individual ballets is a violation of the law of Allah. However, it would seem that the brutal homicide bombings, which have now taken thousands of innocent Iraqi lives, meet with Allah’s approval.

I applaud President Bush’s noble effort to attempt

to establish a democratic government in Iraq elected by the people of Iraq. And I thank God for our American service men and women who are valiantly putting their lives on the line every day to help the Iraqis establish a democratic government. I stand behind the President’s decisions as I have from the beginning. But I would be less than honest if I changed what I have believed from the beginning – It is impossible to establish a “lasting” democratic government in Iraq no matter how sincere we are in making the attempt. Whatever our president decides is the appropriate time to being our troops back to the U.S., I support, and I pray for him and our men and women in harm’s way daily, and I will support him and our troops through thick and thin, but I have never believed it is possible to establish a lasting democratic government in Iraq. If I had not lived among, worked with, and gone to school which those who worship Allah as their God, and had not studied the Koran, I might have a different opinion.

If I had never studied biblical end time prophecies, I might have a different opinion. If I had not fought in Vietnam, I might have a different opinion, but I really have no choice but to believe there will not be a “lasting” democratic government in Iraq.

Once our troops are withdrawn, with Iran to the east and Syria to the northwest, it will not take long for the democratically elected government to fall and a civil war to begin for supremacy between the Sunni, Kurds, and Shiite. It is out of th

But he could come out of northern Iraq, extreme southern Turkey, or even Lebanon. It is looking more and more like a Palestinian State will come into existence along the 1967 war boundaries, either by peace negotiations or by UN recognition of the 1967 borders as containing a new Palestinian State.

It could become very interesting prophetically in September and October this year as the Jewish Feasts of Trumpets, Yom Kippur, and Tabernacles are observed from September 29 to October 13.

Abbas, in Paris for talks with French leaders, noted that Washington already backs the formula of a Palestinian state co-existing in peace alongside Israel to end the long-standing Middle East conflict.

“In principle we have a lot of signs that the United States is ready to recognize the Palestinian state,” he told France 24 television in an interview broadcast on Thursday. “If the United States is not ready it would not be coherent and logical.”

Indyk: UN likely to vote in favor of Palestinian state

Former US envoy says change is necessary to prevent unilateral declaration, supports PM as capable of implementing two-state solution.

Martin Indyk, former US ambassador to Israel and adviser to US Middle East envoy George Mitchell, said Thursday that if no changes are made between now and September, the UN will declare a Palestinian state.

“Unless the US, Israel and the Palestinians have an alternative, the Palestinian plan can not be won,” Indyk told Army Radio.

“If there isn’t anything else, then in September there will be a vote in the UN that will recognize a Palestinian state, just like the UN recognized Israel in 1948.”

Indyk explained that the US does not have veto power in the UN’s General Assembly. “The US may vote against it, but that won’t stop it,” he said.

If a Palestinian state is declared, Israel could be considered an occupier of of a UN-member country, “and that would be an uncomfortable situation for Israel,” Indyk said.

“Tactically, it is very easy for the Palestinians to go to the UN – it doesn’t cost them anything, and it puts pressure on Israel,” Indyk told Army Radio.

“As a strategy, Israel needs to think about the day after the vote.”

Indyk added that, should the UN approve a Palestinian state in September, it will prove Hamas’s point, that there is no reason for negotiations, and encourage violence.

“The real question is to find a way to return to the negotiating table,” he said, recommending that Israel recognize a Palestinian state in pre-1967 borders and agree to land swaps that would allow

Israel to annex settlement blocs.

Indyk also said that Washington believes that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu can bring peace. “It’s a challenge for him,”Indyk said, “but the common opinion in Washington is that Netanyahu, as a man of the right, is more capable than others in Israeli politics to mobilize support from the right and the left for a two-state solution.”

For three months, White House officials have been debating whether the time has come for President Obama to make a major address on the upheaval in the Arab world, and whether he should use the occasion to propose a new plan for peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

One administration official said that course was backed by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the president himself, but opposed by Dennis B.

Ross, the president’s senior adviser on the Middle East.

If Obama does put forward an American plan, officials say it could include terms of reference built around the final status issues that have bedeviled peace negotiators since 1979.

It could call for Israel to accept a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders. For their part, Palestinians would have to accept that they would not get the right of return to land in Israel. Jerusalem would be the capital of both states, and Israeli security would have to be protected.

Clinton Calls for Immediate Resumption of Peace Talks

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Wednesday called for an immediate resumption of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks and denounced Palestinian efforts seeking unilateral declarations of statehood in the UN. “We do not support any unilateral effort by the Palestinians to go to the United Nations to try to obtain some authorization or approval vote with respect to statehood,” she said, adding, “We think we can only achieve the two-state solution that we strongly advocate through negotiations.” (Jerusalem Post)
