Syrian forces kill five pro-democracy protesters in southern city

Syrian security forces killed five demonstrators on Friday in the southern city of Deraa as they took part in a peaceful protest demanding political freedom and an end to corruption in Syria,witnesses said.

Several thousand protesters chanted “God, Syria, Freedom” and other anti-corruption slogans, accusing the family of the president of corruption, when they were shot dead by security forces who were reinforced with troops flown in by helicopters, a resident said.

Amateur video footage posted Friday on YouTube and Twitter shows large groups of protesters in several cities throughout Syria but its authenticity could not be immediately be independently confirmed.

State television says some infiltrators in the town of Deraa caused chaos and riots and smashed cars and some property before they were chased off by riot police.

It says a similar demonstration in the coastal town of Banyas was dispersed without incident.

One amateur video showed what appeared to be show Syrian government trucks spraying water on marchers. Two others purport to show several thousand men gathering in the cities of Homs and Baniyas.

I became convinced the 10 toes/horns of Daniel 2 and 7 would be Islamic before I retired as a member of the USAF Branch of the National Security Agency, and so stated in the first book I completed (Tectonic Chaos) in 1976. I was also certain the Antichrist would arise out of the Middle East, probably in Syria or greater Syria. I am now extremely confident he will come out of Syria,

and expect him to be Syria’s King of the North who counterattacks Israel, the King of the South, at some point in time prior to 2015. He is likely to be the man who replaces Bashar Assad.

Syrian Press: Damascus Shaping the Region’s Future

In the past year, Bashar Al-Assad’s Syria has succeeded in positioning itself as a regional power and as a key player in handling local and regional issues.[1] This is reflected in the extensive diplomatic activity that has been taking place in Damascus, including visits to Syria’s capital by senior officials from Lebanon, Iraq, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. This diplomatic activity has centered around three of the primary arenas currently concerning the Arab world: Lebanon, Iraq, and Palestine.

Reports indicate that the discussions in Syria focused mainly on the internal disputes within these arenas, with Syria serving as mediator, rather than on Syria’s bilateral relations with each of these countries. It should be noted that Turkey has also played a role in this mediation.

The Lebanese Arena: Lebanese Prime Minister Sa’d Al-Hariri visited Damascus on July 18-19, 2010, accompanied by a large delegation of ministers, for a meeting of the Syrian-Lebanese Follow-up and Coordination Commission, which culminated in the two countries signing 18 agreements and memoranda of understanding on various issues. The meeting’s importance lay in its being the first since Syrian-Lebanese relations fell into crisis following the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Al-Hariri. After this meeting, Assad and Al-Hariri met privately

to discuss the internal tension in Lebanon in anticipation of the indictment due to be published by the international tribunal investigating Al-Hariri’s murder, which is expected to indicate Hizbullah as responsible for the crime. It should be noted that the same issues were also the focus of meetings between Saudi King ‘Abdallah, who is Sa’d Al-Hariri’s patron, and President Assad, a Hizbullah ally, held in Damascus on July 29-30, 2010, before a trip by both leaders to Beirut, which was intended to restore calm in Lebanon.

toglu as part of efforts toward forming a government in Iraq. The two Iraqi leaders also met privately.

The Palestinian Arena: Turkish Foreign Minister Davutoglu met in Damascus with Khaled Mash’al, head of Hamas’ political bureau, apparently to discuss the inter-Palestinian reconciliation.

Following are excerpts from recent articles in the Syrian press on Damascus’ diplomatic activity and pivotal role in the region:

The Countries of the Region Are Coming Back to Damascus

The Syrian and Arab press regarded the diplomatic activity in Damascus as signaling the success of President Assad’s strategic approach, according to which the resolution of regional problems is to be achieved not by external forces but

by local powers alone, with Syria at their head. In an article titled “The Solutions Lie with Us,” As’ad ‘Aboud, editor of the Syrian government daily Al-Thawra, wrote: “…The greatest step [made] today regarding the nations and countries of our region is the return to Damascus. If Damascus’s word had been taken into account from the start, things would not have reached a crisis throughout the region. What is important now is that hope has been restored, and the inclination is [to believe] that ‘solutions to the [region’s] problems will come from the region’s countries, not from abroad.’ This approach, which Syria and Turkey in particular have advocated for years now, provides the broadest access to all possible solutions. These issues are our own, and we can discuss [them] without limitations or restrictions, and reach an understanding without any confusion…”[2]

Columnist Ziad Haydar wrote in a similar vein in an article in the Syrian daily Al-Watan titled “The Region’s Future Is Being Determined in Damascus”: “The activity in Damascus [constitutes] a summit of the region’s leaders or their representatives, intended to shape the [region’s] future and advance its stability, especially in light of the special relationship that exists between Damascus and Ankara and the [relationship that has developed] recently between Damascus and Beirut.

Lebanese Prime Minister Al-Hariri’s successful two-day visit and his three meetings with President Assad made him a new partner in crystallizing the future of the region, far from the pressures exerted on him and on all the Lebanese.

“Davutoglu’s visit [to Damascus] was concurrent with that of Al-Sadr and ‘Allawi, and preceded by that of ‘Ammar Al-Hakim, chairman of the Islamic Supreme Council [of Iraq], who arrival last month. The main purpose of these visits was to discuss the formation of an Iraqi government in Baghdad…

“[These] recent developments must be linked to the [fact that] elements both inside and outside Iraq [attempted] to establish a government there which is [politically] uniform, but failed, and [now] it is expected that the next Iraqi government will be established in Baghdad, but its [makeup] will be determined in Damascus…”[3]

Elie Shalhoub, writing for the Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar, also pointed to the central role Damascus is playing in the establishment of a new Iraqi government: “In light of failures [to reach an agreement] in Baghdad, and after fissures appeared in the understandings reached in Tehran, it would seem that Assad is holding all the strings [for forming an Iraqi government]…”[4]

The West Will Be Forced to Take Syria’s Diplomatic Activity into Account

Reporting on the intensive diplomatic scene in Damascus, the Syrian press linked Syria’s recent activity to failed attempts by the U.S. and the West to resolve problems in the region. ‘Aboud wrote: “…American incompetence leaves the Iraqis one choice – to reach an internal understanding vis-à-vis their national unity and the [establishment of] a government which represents Iraq’s interests, and [at the same time] to] to turn to the countries of the region, so that improvement of the domestic situation in Iraq be accompanied by the development of [Iraq’s] foreign relations. Due to its incompetence, the U.S. has sent the Palestinians an old senator [i.e. George Mitchell] who has nothing to offer [but] cries of ‘Oh Palestinians, reconcile among yourselves!’

“Lebanon emerged from crisis only after it sought a solution within itself, and at the same time turned to the countries of the region [for assistance]. We are not the ones currently preventing

the outside elements from intervening in our domestic affairs. They [themselves] explicitly declare their inability to propose any solution… We hold our own cards and [have] the solutions to our own problems. We – Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Turkey – all of us…”[5]

Wasim Al-Ahmar, a columnist for the Syrian daily Al-Watan, wrote: “While Paris and Washington are thinking over their initiatives and [considering] with whom to talk and whom to ostracize, this region is witnessing diplomatic activity whose main axis is Damascus and Ankara. The players on the outside will be forced to take this activity into account and maybe even depend on it, [instead of working] outside of it.”[6]

Antichrist from the Conquered Lands of Ancient Assyrians

During the time of the writings of Ezekiel, Daniel, Isaiah, and Micah (between 700 and 600 BC) the Assyrian Empire was active from northern Israel into Anatolia (Turkey). The Hittite Empire had slowly crumbled, pushed from the southeast by the Assyrians and from the west by the Phrygians, newly arrived from Thrace. The last Hittite capital at Carchemish fell to the Assyrians in 717 B.C.

I have always believed the Antichrist would come from the land north of Israel from the northern border of Israel to the Black Sea, which today includes Greater Syria (Syria & Lebanon) and Turkey. I have presented Turkey as one of Daniel’s 10 Toes for many years, and occasionally mentioned the possibility that the Antichrist might arise there, but have up until now presented Syria as the best choice for his sudden ascension to power as the little horn of Daniel 7:8. However, the events of the last three years have led me to believe he could arise in Turkey, which is more militarily powerful that any other Islamic country, in my opinion.

I have always believed he would come out of the area occupied by Assyria when Micah wrote his prophecies. The Assyrians drove as far south as Jerusalem before being defeated by God when Hezekiah was King of Judah. I do still believe Greater Syria is the most likely place for his sudden appearance, but I am now also focused on Turkey as well since her dramatic shift into the Islamic radical camp.

Micah 5:1-4 – Now gather thyself n troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they sh all smite the judge of Isr

ael with a rod upon the cheek. [2] But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. [3] Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel. [4] And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.

These verses, exposited in Parts 1 through 4, were written more than 700 years before the birth of Christ. And yet they present: Bethlehem as His birthplace, His rejection as ruler over Israel, His last Passover in the daughter of troops Jerusalem, His head beatings by the troops of Pontius Pilate, Herod, and the High Priest, His rejection as the judge of Israel, His Father’s siege against Israel because of their rejection of the Son (which has lasted some 2000 years), Christ’s temporary rejection of Israel, His Second Advent as Messiah after Israel’s travail of 1260 days in the Negev Wilderness, at which time His brethren will return with Him to the nation of Israel, and the first 1000 years of His eternal kingdom, which phases into the final heaven age when the present earth and heavens pass away.

Micah 5:5 – And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

Now, in verse 5, we find that “this man” will himself “be the peace” because He personally brings it in by Himself when he returns to be “great unto the ends of the earth” for 1000 years. “This man” who brings “the peace” of a thousand years is, of course, Jesus Christ. He is the primary contextual subject from verses 1 through 5. What happens to motivate His return to bring in the millennial reign is the movement of the Assyrian into the land of Israel. It is the final defeat and destruction of “the Assyrian” that will mark Christ’s Second Advent, and the beginning of His millennial reign.

When Micah wrote his prophecies the Assyrians had already driven into the northern Kingdom of Israel, and all that remained of Israel proper was its southern Kingdom of Judah. So what were the borders of the land of Assyria when Micah wrote the fifth chapter of his book? The borders of the Assyrian territory stretched northward from roughly where Ramallah is located in the West Bank to the present day southern border of Turkey, and eastward to the Mediterranean Sea to establish its western limits, then westward across the Euphrates River to the Tigris River north of modern Baghdad in Iraq. Technically, I suppose one might be able to say this future “Assyrian” might come out of southern Turkey, northern Iraq, or Lebanon, but since modern day Syria occupies some 85% of the area covered by the Assyrian empire at the time of Micah’s writings, I am persuaded the Assyrian antichrist will come out of Syria. The possible argument that Micah 5:5 was fulfilled during the old Assyrian invasion of Micah’s day, is thwarted by the context pattern of the four verses before it all still being unfulfilled at the time they were written, and then being linked contextually to verse 5 by “this man,” and “the peace.” Additionally, this argument is smashed by the verse that follows it.

Micah 5:6 – And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

From the time of Micah’s writings to the present day, Israel has never “wasted the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof.” I will exposit specifically on both these locations in Prophecy Update Number 67, Lord willing.

The “Assyrian” of Micah 5:5 is not a European, an American, a Russian, an Eskimo, an Aborigine, an Ethiopian, or a platypus. He is an Assyrian, who becomes chief prince of the land where the descendants of Meshech and Tubal were dwelling when Ezekiel wrote his prophecies.

I will elaborate on this in future updates, Lord willing. The expression involving “seven shepherds and eight principal men” is most assuredly an oft used Hebrew idiom. It was the Hebrew manner of expressing “more than enough.” Seven is the Hebrew word for “complete,” implying “enough,” and when “eight” is added to it, the expression means “more than enough.” When the Assyrian comes into Israel, and treads within its borders north of Beersheba for 1260 days, then Jesus will return to restore peace for 1000 years on this planet. Christ’s Second Advent is accompanied by some 5/6 of the Assyrian’s armies being destroyed by the brightness of His coming. His destruction of the Assyrian and his false prophet will make whatever force Israel is able to muster up in the Negev for the battle of Armageddon “more than enough.”

When the Assyrian sets on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, as the willful King of the North preparing to launch his final attack on Israel at the battle of Armageddon, he will be beyond all help by men and Satan.

I Thessalonians 5:3,4 – For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. [4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

Ezekiel 38:14-16 – Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord God; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it? [15] And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: [16] And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

Zechariah 13:8,9 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. [9] And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.

Revelation 12:6 –And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Daniel 11:45 – And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

Iranian Guards general assassinated in Damascus – French sources

The death of Khalil Sultan, a high-ranking general of the IRGC’s al Qods external terror branch, at his home in the exclusive Damascus district of Al Mezzeh Sunday, May 16 is now revealed by French intelligence and Syrian exile sources in Paris to have been assassination by an unknown hand.

The authorities in Damascus said at the time that the general, whom they described as a rich Syrian businessman, sales agent for the Iranian Kordo automobile manufacturers, was killed in the course of a robbery.

In fact, according to DEBKAfile’s intelligence sources, Sultan ran Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ covert operations in Damascus and Beirut under deep cover. The gang which burst into his luxury villa and gunned him down with automatic rifles removed only documents and laptops, but did not touch valuables, cash or gold.

As Tehran’s top operative for disposing of anti-Iranian elements in Syria and Lebanon, he worked in conjunction with Bashar Assad’s intelligence branches. Their most recent joint project was the roundup of Iranian-Arab exiles from Ahwaz who live in Syria.

Western sources disclose that his death caused deep shock in top Syrian and Iranian government and security circles. His assassins’ success in reaching this top secret agent in the most closely-guarded neighborhood of the capital, seat of Syrian government institutions and domicile of senior officials, has caused Syrian intelligence and the regime as a whole deep embarrassment – particularly after a long series of hits against high-profile Hizballah and Hamas operatives in the Syrian capital’s most secure districts – like the case of Hizballah commander Imad Mughniyeh.

The victim was close to the al Qods Brigades chief Gen. Qassem Suleimeni, who is entrusted with the Islamic Republic’s most hush-hush clandestine operations. French sources stress, on the other hand, that he was also a personal friend of the Iranian general who recently defected to the West. They name him as Gen. Reza Baba Hossein, the first time, DEBKAfile’s sources note, that this Iranian general has been publicly revealed to be a defector to the West.

Sultan’s duties and diverse connections suggest three possible parties may have wanted him dead:

1. More than one foreign element had an interest in sabotaging Iran’s covert activities in Syria and Lebanon and the intelligence partnership between Tehran and Damascus.

2. Syrian opposition exiles in Paris point the finger at their Sunni compatriots who are involved in activities for weakening Iranian and Shiite influence in their country.

3. Sultan’s friendship with the defecting general may have aroused Tehran’s suspicion that he abetted his friend’s escape – or even had contacts in Western intelligence himself – in which case, Iranian intelligence would have no qualms about signing his death warrant

Japan Quake Shifts the Earth’s Crust and Axis

Earthquakes, volcano eruptions and tectonic shifts commonly alter the earth’s crust in small ways. However in the case of an earthquake that registers 8.9 on the Richter Scale, as the one that has occurred in Japan did, we can expect massive shifts in the global positions of landforms and perhaps even a shift in the earths axis.

Scientists from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and National Atmospheric Space Administration (NASA) have all concluded that the Japan earthquake was so large, it actually moved the surface of Japan up to 13 feet in some areas and lowered the elevation of the country by 2 feet in others. This in turn caused a domino effect; with a m

assive shift in landforms came a shift in the earths axis, a startling 4 inches, that shortened the day a few millionths of a second according to NASA.

The axis shift is due to a large redistribution of mass which is now leaving a gaping 217 mile long and 50 mile wide hole in the sea floor close the the epicenter of the earthquake. This moved the island of Japan 8 feet closer to the western coast of the United States and up

to 13 feet closer in other areas closer to the epicenter according to an exact location and movement of a Global Positioning Center location belonging to the USGS.

The Japan earthquake has turned out to be one of the five largest earthquakes in the 20 and 21st century, a list that even the 2010 Haiti earthquake isn’t on.

The measured 8.9 Japan quake occurred on March 11 at 2:46 p.m. local time just off the east coast of Honshu Japan. This then created a 13-foot tsunami that landed on the northern coast of Japan. In the United States the tsunami created 7-foot waves that crashed into the Hawaiian islands which caused no major damage. In the continental United States a tsunami warning was issued from California to Alaska, with places like Crescent City, CA seeing moderate damage

Earth’s Magnetic Pole Accelerating It’s Movement

In my books and lectures for the last 29 years, I have discussed the field of magnetism generated on the earth by a great internal movement of a liquid mantle around a solid core. The magnetic poles are positioned by liquid iron movement around the solid core of the earth, determining the immediate position of both poles by the iron’s weight juxtaposition at that moment.

Studies have determined that the earth’s magnetic shield protection has decreased by some ten percent over the last 150 years. The magnetic shield protects life on earth from deadly rays from the sun which would long ago have initially prevented or destroyed human life’s existence on the planet.

The recent monster shifting in the earth’s crust that produced the great tsunami off the coast of Sumatra a year ago, affected the internal weight balance of the earth, which in turn affects the magnetic declination of a moving magnetic north.

Magnetic north was first discovered in 1831, and it moved more than 30 miles by 1904. During the last century and a half magnetic north has moved almost 700 miles into the Artic. Its movement for the first one hundred years, following its discovery, was steady, but its movement increased in the last century, and it is accelerating at the present time. If the present rate and direction of movement continue, it will swing out of extreme northern Canada into Siberia.

During the history of the earth there have been sudden reversals of the magnetic poles. During these episodes the magnetic shield temporarily breaks down, which allows solar rays to penetrate to the surface of the planet. These episodes are associated with mountain building periods, which would align with the prophecy of Isaiah.

Isaiah 24:17-21 – Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth. [18] And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.

CHAPTER 16 – Noisome and Grievous Sores

Revelation 16:2 – And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men, which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

This first vial is directly tied to the first trumpet. The trumpets herald (announce) the beginning of seven chronological events and the seven vials close each of these events. The first trumpet announces the beginning of event number one, and the first vial closes it when its last drop strikes the earth. Previous chapters have fully outlined the series of horrifying events that begin with the blowing of the first trumpet. The great unleashing of thousands of great earthquakes from the sixth seal to the seventh trumpet will be the action of God, and it will eventually lead to the outbreak of noisome and grievous sores in Revelation 16:2. The following Scriptures attest fully that God will shake the earth to its very foundation during the latter part of the Tribulation Period:

Luke 21:11 – And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Malachi 4:1 + Haggai 2:6 + Isaiah 24:1 + 29:6 + 24:19,20

[1] For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. [6] For thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; [1] Behold, the Lord maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof. [6] Thou shalt be visited of the Lord of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire. [19] The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved (torn asunder), the earth is moved exceedingly.

[20] The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.

When the Bible was written mankind believed the world was flat. But God, who made the universe, knew the folly of man’s belief, for in Isaiah 40:22 He tells us, “It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth.” God knew the earth was circular before man. He also established the invisible forces of the universe that hold the earth in its planetary position. He testifies to this in Job 26:7 by the statement: “and hangeth the earth upon nothing.” This circular earth, made by God, and held in space by His invisible powers, will soon be shaken to the very foundation of it’s gravitational center. God testifies to this unbelievable foundation shaking of the earth’s core in Isaiah 24:18 as he states: “For the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.”

When the tectonic plates of the earth begin to readjust themselves to a new balance of geophysical isostasy, there will be a dramatic change in the gravitational core balance of the earth. Isostasy is neither a force nor a process, but the universal tendency to establish balance between the segments of the earth’s crust. Its attempt to correct the gravitation imbalance in the plates will cause a disruption from the crust to earth’s core. This disruption of the earth’s tectonic balance will damage the electromagnetic field. The central core of the earth is solid nickel and iron. The outer core surrounding it is liquid nickel and iron. As the earth spins in space it moves the liquid around the solid core. So we have the solid core rotating as an electric conductor in a magnetic field. God has so constructed the interior of the earth that it operates like a huge generator.

This produces electricity in fantastic quantities, which generates a very powerful magnetic field, and that field is God’s magnetic field of the earth. The earth’s magnetic field is so complex that only God understands the delicate balance which keeps the geomagnetic shield in place around the earth.

Figure 22 portrays the protective magnetic field that God maintains around His planet Earth.

The magnetic field is a protective barrier around the earth. The field is constantly being bombarded by many a wide variety of celestial particles and rays. Among the many attacking celestials are cosmic rays, which are strong charged, fast moving particles of hydrogen and helium. They severely damage living cells, and produce horrifying mutations of the skin. If the magnetic field were to be disrupted, all life forms would be subject to a very high dose of cosmic-ray bombardment. Terrible mutations of the skin would naturally occur.

I am convinced that the great shaking of the earth prior to, and during, the pouring of the first vial, will produce the conditions described in Revelation 16:2, the outbreak of noisome and grievous sores upon the flesh. The shift in the magnetic field of the earth will play a part in the fulfillment of Revelation 16:2. The earth’s magnetic field has shifted several times during geologic history. Whenever these reversals occur they reduce the earth’s magnetic field by about 80%, thereby leaving the earth without its protective shroud. I believe God will lower his protective magnetic shield to plague the doomed of the earth with flesh mutilation by cosmic radiation.

Thus far we have dealt with only the fantastic shaking produced by earthquakes up to the pouring of the first vial, which leads to surface cosmic ray bombardment.

In all reality, this cosmic bombardment will be incidental in production of sores, when compared with the effect of volcanic eruptions produced by the movement of the same tectonic plates. Lord willing, we will show what will produce most of these sores, as we examine trumpet four and vial four in a continuation of this chapter as BIRTH PANG NUMBER 14A. Destruction of the ozone layer will produce most of the sores.

CHAPTER 16A – NOISOME AND GRIEVOUS SORES

This is a continuation of Birth Pang Number 14, Chapter 16. In Birth Pang 14 we dealt with the first trumpet as it relates to the first vial, and how they will produce some of the sores that appear on mankind during the latter portion of the Tribulation Period. We will continue the discussion regarding how the majority of these noisome and grievous sores will be produced. We will do this by dealing with the fourth trumpet and the fourth vial as to how they will affect the flesh of mankind.

Revelation 8:12 + 16:8,9

[12] And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise. [8]And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. [9] And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

The first trumpet and the first vial dealt with things that were “cast upon” and “poured out” upon the earth. This casting and pouring on the earth will produce a reversal of the earth’s geomagnetic field, which will generate the skin plagues of Revelation 16:2. But the fourth trumpet of Revelation 8:12, and the fourth vial of Revelation 16:8, involve the interplay between God’s judgment of man and His use of the sun He created. When the fourth trumpet sounds, God smites the sun to begin Event Number Four, and then has the fourth vial poured out on it to the last drop to close it. I have already exposited fully in previous chapters on Revelation 8:12. They give a complete explanation regarding the gradual formation of a great cloud shroud by volcanic eruptions. It is this volcanic activity that will eventually allow the sun to scorch men with the great heat of ultraviolet radiation.

God has created a thick layer of ozone in the earth’s vast stratosphere. If this layer was not there, man would be scorched with ultraviolet radiation, and annihilated from the earth within a few years. Many scientists still cling to the idea that chlorofluorocarbons are breaking down the stratospheric ozone layer. However, the real culprits are the increasing frequencies of volcanic eruptions. Ozone is a form of oxygen that protects man from the sin’s deadly ultraviolet radiation. If this radiation could slip through the ozone layer it would lead to rapid worldwide outbreaks of fast growing skin cancer. A U.S. Geological Survey scientist, Dr. David A. Johnston, missing and presumed dead since the first eruption of Mount Saint Helens, was quoted by Warren E. Leary, and Associated Press science writer as follows:

“Analysis of trapped gas pockets in volcanic and other material indicates molten magmas may contain 20 to 40 times more chlorine than earlier estimates upon which volcanic atmospheric impact had been estimated. This means that the amount of chlorine emitted into the atmosphere could equal more than 100% of the 1975 world production in fluorocarbon chemicals. Johnson said in his report that volcanic explosions powerful enough to penetrate the stratosphere have been occurring about once a year in recent times. These eruptions shoot hydrogen chloride high enough to reach the ozone layer.”

As a scientist, certified to teach chemistry and physics, I was so certain the ozone layer was being depleted by gases blown vertically into it by volcanoes, that I began to teach and write about it in books published in the late seventies and early eighties. I was so firmly certain of it that I predicted the ozone hole would continue to grow, even after worldwide elimination of chlorofluorocarbon production by man had occurred. In the early eighties they predicted the ozone hole would decline in size by 1985. When it did not, they said it was due to residual effects. But we were assured it would decrease by 1990.

When it did not, they said the residual effects were greater than they had thought, but we would see a small decline by 1995. When it did not decline they kept on riding the same old dead horse, and predicted a thinning by 2000. It is still continuing to grow, and now they say it may not decline until 2020. The ozone hole growth since 1979 is as follows: from very small in 1977 to 500,000 cubic kilometers in 1980, to 10,500,000 in 1986, to 22,000,000 in 1992, to 23,500,000 in 1994, to 27,0000,000 in 1999, and to 28,300,000 cubic kilometers in 2000. And still there is no ozone hole over the North Pole, yet 74% of all ozone destroying particles are released in the Northern Hemisphere! But isn’t it strange that most of the world’s volcanoes are located in the Southern Hemisphere, with many of them south of 60 degrees latitude, while only a handful of volcanoes exist north of 60 degrees latitude.

Please allow me to elaborate why man-made CFC gases are not the culprits responsible for the depletion of the ozone layer over the South Pole:

1. 74% of all man-made CFC’s are released in the Northern hemisphere. The Long-term vertical circulation patterns of the earth in the Northern Hemisphere demand that the first ozone hole should have appeared over the North Pole – it did not!
2. The CFC gases are heavier than the atmosphere into which they are supposed to be rising, hence they cannot rise to the level of the ozone layer of their own volition.

3. CFC’s are washed out of the atmosphere by the precipitation cycle of the troposphere before they could reach the ozone layer.
4. CFC gases, without the direct help of volcanic activity, don’t penetrate the restricting worldwide temperature inversion, which begins well below the ozone layer at the tropopause.

Now, please allow me to exposit why I am confident that volcanic eruptions are responsible for the depletion of the ozone layer over the South Pole:

(1) The rate increase in major eruptions since 1950 is four times greater than at any time in history.
(2) Most vertical eruptions are occurring in the Southern Hemisphere, thereby causing the ozone hole to appear first over the South Pole, rather than the North Pole.
(3) Volcanic eruptions forcefully blow different kinds of ozone depleting gases through the tropopause inversion into the ozone layer, bypassing much of the earth’s circulation and hydrological patterns.
(4) There is an active volcano pouring its depleting gases upward into the center of the ozone hole from time to time – Mount Erebus, which is near the South Pole.
(5) The growth of the ozone hole has been steadily toward the north over the southern tip of South America, where a thick concentration of active volcanoes exists today.

During the latter part of the Tribulation, thousands of volcanic eruptions, like those in Figure 10, will occur along the dashed lines of figure 3. These eruptions will send staggering amounts of hydrogen chloride, nitric oxides, and other ozone depleting gases into the ozone layer. The resultant breaking down of the ozone layer will allow ultraviolet radiation to pour through onto the inhabitants of the earth. These occupants of the final days of Satan’s kingdoms on this planet will be scorched with the great heat of the sun’s ultraviolet radiation. Yet they still will not repent toward the God of these plagues that physically destroy them. They will understand the processes that are causing it, but they will not recognize that God is doing it.

Most Christian writers of today spend a lot of effort in trying to work the entire modern day arsenal of man into the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments. Most make the last day skin plagues attributable to atomic radiation. May I assure you that the ultraviolet and cosmic radiation, which would pour down on the earth’s surface if the ozone layer weakened and the magnetic poles reversed, would be thousands of times deadlier than atomic radiation.

John wrote the book of Revelation in about 95 AD. Jesus said the Jerusalem city temple would be spiritually desolate before he was crucified, and it was leveled by Titus in 70 AD. After 70 AD Jerusalem was referred to as being spiritually desolate as Sodom and Egypt.

Revelation 16:18,19 – And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. [19] And THE GREAT CITY was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

“Great Babylon” represents the world’s multiple false religions that had their ancient birthplace in the Euphrates and Tigris River Valley of the Garden of Eden, which is the Seat of the Devil’s invisible Kingdom of spiritual darkness. It is the seat of the coming Beast of Revelation.

God will pour out his vials of wrath on this area as he destroys the false religion

of Islam.

Revelation 16:10-16 – And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, [11] And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds. Disaster studies expert: We are not prepared for quake

If a 7 or 8 magnitude quake were to hit Israel, it could cause more damage, loss of life than any war Israel has fought, expert says.

As bad as events may seem in Japan in the aftermath of a deadly earthquake and tsunami that has killed untold thousands and caused critical failures at nuclear power plants, Prof. Avi Kirschenbaum, a disaster studies expert at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, thinks it could have been much worse.

If stringent building codes had not been enforced by authorities on the quakeprone island, then the death toll could have been even higher.

“Earthquakes don’t kill people; buildings do when they fall,” he said. “The tsunami is probably a lot more dangerous than the earthquakes, especially in Japan, where building codes have been in place. You saw that big buildings did not fall during the earthquake, but you can’t build a wall along the entire sea.”

Kirschenbaum currently heads BEMOSA, a European Union-funded research project aimed at improving security in airports, lectures about disaster preparedness at the University in Haifa and has written several books on the subject. He said Japanese authorities’ preparedness mitigated the effects of the disaster, but had less flattering words, however, for their Israeli counterparts.

Asked if Israel were ready to deal with a m

ajor earthquake, Kirschenbaum gave an unequivocal answer.

“I can tell you very clearly, we’re not,” he said. “The first things which needs to be improved are the building codes – and the government understands that,” he said.

“But the incentives to upgrade buildings by offering residents to build another floor and, in the process, strengthen their foundations are not working.”

Kirschenbaum said that in the event of a seven or eight magnitude earthquake, buildings built prior to the 1990s would be at great risk.

“During the 1980s, there was a weak California building code but that disappeared during the 1990s,” he said.

The last relatively big earthquake in Israel took place in 2008 when a 5.3 magnitude shake rocked the region.

No fatalities or major damages were reported at the time.

However, in the 19th century, a major quake struck the region, reducing the northern cities of Tiberias and Safed to rubble.

If a seven or eight quake were to impact Israel, Kirschenabum reckons, it could cause more damage and result in more loss of life than any war Israel has ever fought.

“The chemical plants in the Haifa area, which are on a rift coming down from Lebanon, will probably blow up,” Kirschenbaum said. “It would be as if Hezbollah rained down on them all these rockets and it would simply blow up.” The 68-year-old academic, who was born in the US and immigrated to Israel 40 years ago, said the Israeli government was also neglecting the psychological aspect of dealing with disasters.

“One of the things they are not preparing is the people,” he said. “In Japan, they do it on the community level. The basis for our survival in Israel is our families and communities and then the municipality.

All disasters in Israel are local and in Israel, we have a robust system of communication which we have to rely on, and with the Japanese, it’s the same way.”

Chapter 31 – God Heals the Eastern Sea

Ezekiel 47:6-8 – And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the brink of the river. [7] Now when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other.

[8] Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed.

Zechariah 14:3,4 – Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

[4] And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

As we begin with verse 6, we have just walked eastward a little over a mile (4000 cubits) from the “utter gate” of the Jerusalem Millennial Temple, and have arrived at the brink of the diverted Jordan River shown in Figure 47. Please look at Figure 47 and read Birth Pang Numbers 25 through 28. During our walk, we passed directly through the graben valley created during the Tribulation Period when the Mount of Olives divided into two sections, one moving to the north, and one moving to the south. The stream along which we walked developed after the splitting of the Mount of Olives, and is the stream of Zechariah 14:8 – “And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.” It is also the same spring described in Joel 3:18B – “And all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the Lord, and shall water the valley of Shittim.”

The area through which the entire stream and Jordan River complex is prophesied to flow has a very fertile soil profile.

But no matter how fertile and perfectly zoned a soil horizon exists, unless there is water, no vegetation will spring up. This has been the problem in this dry arid region for centuries, but God is going to change all that. Trees and all types of vegetation will flourish along the length of these two living water rivers (Figure 47) as they flow toward the Mediterranean and Dead Seas. The remnant of the nation of Israel will use this new source of water to irrigate the deserts of Judah and most of southern Israel, including the Negev. Israel will become the breadbasket of the world.

As verse eight of Ezekiel 47 begins, we find ourselves standing at the brink of the diverted Jordan River, about four thousand cubits east of the “utter gate” of the Millennial Temple. We are told that from this point the waters go out into what he calls “the east country.” The “east country” is the section of land that includes the Dead Sea, which has been referred to in the past as “the Eastern Sea.” We have the water moving, as shown in Figure 47, into the country east of the Mount of Olives like a pattern known as a bird’s foot delta. We are then advised that from “the east country” the waters “go down into the desert.” We are informed in the Hebrew which desert, for the word used for “desert” is “Arabah,” which is the desert that lies between the Dead Sea and the Red Sea. Strong’s Hebrew and Chaldee Dictionary identifies the Arabah as “the sterile valley of the Jordan and its continuation to the Red Sea.” Wilson’s Old Testament Word Studies “the desert” as “the land between the Dead Sea and the Elanitic Gulf (Gulf of Aqabah). First the waters flow southward through the Arabah Desert to eventually empty into “the sea,” and that sea is the northern extension of the Red Sea, which is also known by the Arabs as the Gulf of Aqabah. As indic ated, in previous Birth P

ang Updates, a channel will be opened in the land that lies between the Dead Sea and the Gulf of Aqabah.

This land was once known as the land of Idumea. Gradually the flow of fresh water from the Temple and the diverted fresh water from the Euphrates will “heal” the “east country” of its high salt content. The “healing” will be accomplished by most of its salt being carried southward into the Red Sea. Figure 47 shows the completed hydrological structure prophesied by Ezekiel, Zechariah, and Joel. I believe that the shape of the Dead Sea will be quite different from what I have shown in Figure 47, but so that the reader may relate to a known geographical feature, I have left its present shape unchanged.

Actually, it will become more like a fresh water delta marsh from Engedi to Eneglaim, and that section from “the brink of the river” to the fresh water marsh will be similar to the Mississippi Delta, but on a much smaller scale.

Figure 48 gives a general pictorial summation of many of the geological changes prophesied to occur in previous Updates. All of these terrifying changes have a twofold purpose: to show man the power of God and to prepare the land for the reign of Jesus Christ when he returns.

Analysis: Israel’s shadow war against Iran

The seizure of the ‘Victoria’ cargo ship is just another chapter in the larger covert war that Israel is waging against Iran.

Israel waged war against Iran on Tuesday. No Iranians were present and not a single shot was fired, but make no mistake – the seizure of the Victoria cargo ship is part of Israel’s battle against Iran, one that is fought in the shadows and sometimes in the most unlikely places.

When the commandos from the navy’s Flotilla 13 approached the ship under cover of darkness late Monday night, they still did not know what to expect. Only as they made their final approach toward the ship, some 320 km. west of Israel, did Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu give his final approval to board the vessel.

In such cases, the risk is huge, and for this reason the Foreign Ministry was on standby with officials ready to contact Germany and Liberia. A German company owns the ship, and it was flying a Liberian flag.

After contacting the captain of the ship by radio, the commandos climbed aboard and, encountering no resistance, began a brief search of the cargo. They went to the “suspicious” containers, the ones that were loaded at the Syrian port of Latakia and were slated to be unloaded at the Egyptian port of Alexandria, according to the cargo manifest.

The commandos found the containers fitted with heavy locks, unusual for shipments of lentils and cotton. Behind a row of sacks, they found what they were looking for: crates of mortar shells, and then the real prize – the C-704 anti-ship missiles.

The seizure of the Victoria was not impressive for the quantity of arms found – the Francop cargo ship captured by Israel in late 2009 was carrying 10 times more weaponry – but for the quality.

The C-704 is an anti-ship missile made in China and used by Iran, which calls it the Nasr. Like surface-to-air missiles, the C-704 is the type of weapon that Israel fears could shift the balance of power in the region and undermine its operational freedom.

But while the discovery is impressive and was the result of major intelligence and operational efforts, it is just another chapter in the larger covert war that Israel is waging against Iran and its terror proxies throughout the Middle East, and joins a long list of similar special operations that have taken place in recent years.

The battle against Iranian arms shipments to Syria, Hezbollah and Hamas is extremely complicated and involves unprecedented coordination between Israel and its allies, primarily the United States.

Israel boards dozens of ships annually, and hundreds more are questioned by radio at sea. In the case of the Victoria, Israel had intelligence that the ship might be carrying weaponry, but there is never certainty until the ship is boarded and the weapons are found. One senior official described the mood in the navy command center as being so tense that a knife could have cut through the air.

For Iran and Hamas, the seizure of the Victoria is a major blow.

But it will not stop Iran from trying other ways to get advanced weaponry to its proxies, such as Hamas and Hezbollah. In many cases, Iran has succeeded.

In 2009, during Operation Cast Lead, Hamas did not have rockets that could hit Tel Aviv. Today it does.

The route that the Victoria took was of particular interest for the navy. In the past, a number of ships were tracked as they sailed through the Red Sea and unloaded weaponry in Sudan or Eritrea, which made its way by land up to the Egyptian-Gaza border. In this case, the ship was loaded in Syria, then sailed north to Turkey and then back south again to Egypt.

This route led intelligence officials in Israel to believe that the stopover at the Turkish port of Mersin was a ploy to draw attention away from the ship.

The decision to transfer the weaponry directly to Egypt could mean that Iran is encountering difficulty in the traditional land route through Egypt. This could have to do with Israeli efforts to stop the shipments, but the Egyptians are also believed to be making a greater effort to stop arms convoys from crossing into the country from its southern border with Sudan. A few days ago, the Egyptian military attacked such a convoy with artillery shells, preventing it from entering the country.

A UN vote later this week on a no-fly zone over Libya is likely to be too late: Muammar Gaddafi is poised to regain total control of Libya after his forces captured Ajdabiya, the last town before the rebel capital of Benghazi. The New York Times says there is “growing consensus” in the White House that, at this point, a no-fly zone wouldn’t do much to stop Gaddafi anyway.

Obama and his advisers discussed alternatives, including jamming Libyan government radio signals and giving the $32 billion seized from Gaddafi to his the rebels.

WHEN ISRAEL IS SUDDENLY VISIOUSLY ATTACKED IN A SURPRISE LIGHTNING JIHAD BLITZKRIEG FROM ITS NORTH, WHY DOESN’T THE U.S. ATTACK THE ISLAMIC GROUP OF NATIONS THAT ARE ATTACKING HER?

This is a question I have been asked over and over again for a long time. I was asked again on e-mail recently, and this time, rather than answering the query privately, I decided to make it a prophecy update, so that that in future I could just attach this update to any new query and save myself repeating it again.

The one thing that I learned in the National Security Agency which has been, is, and always will be the motivating factor in any decision made by any country, including the United States, may be simply stated in two words: NATIONAL INTEREST. Many will cry out and say, not so, we did it for humanitarian reasons, we did it to secure justice, we did it out of compassion, we did it out of love, we did it because we love freedom, we did it because we are a great nation: and on and on shall come statements from every realm of society, from “bleeding” liberal hearts to the “hardened” hearts of the extreme right, all giving different reasons as to why this country did something.

But the truth of the matter is that, in the end, we always did it for what amounted to NATIONAL INTEREST.

The United States has quick response attack naval and marine forces in position at all times to put down a banana republic type of minor conflict on short notice. But in order to conduct a successful operation again a Jihad the magnitude of the coming attack of many nations against Israel, we would require some time to get enough regular ground troops in place to have a real hope of victory. It took us a very long time to get enough men and equipment into the Middle East to insure success in our victory against Iraq. The Scriptures indicate that 10 Islamic nations will be led by the Antichrist, and that they will quickly take Jerusalem and drive Israel into the Negev. When Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Iran come pouring southward on both sides of the Samarian mountains, and the Palestinians break out in all directions internally from within the enclosed buffer zone, chaos will reign supreme from Dan to Beersheba.

There will be so much inner mingling of the attack forces of Israel and those of the enemy with the fleeing civilian population that air strikes would kill as many on one side as the other. Since the U.S. is fully aware of the Israel War Contingency Plan to evacuate as much of the population as possible to the Negev if overrun from the north, it will set in shock and indecision until it is too late to do anything except help to evacuate some of the coastal population from Tel Aviv to Haifa into the Negev, and to air lift supplies into the Negev.

The aircraft of the Islamic nations will be under orders not to fire on western power’s aircraft unless fired upon, because the one thing they will not want is for the U.S. to get actively engaged with them in an all out war. Once Israel has evacuated as much of its population into the Negev as possible, and the U.S. sees that the Arabs are not going past Beersheba, we will accept the status quo as best for all. Why? Because it will satisfy our NATIONAL INTEREST!

How? Israel will be safe and we will still be able to receive Arab Oil shipments.

Revelation 12:5,6,17 – And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. [6] And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. [17] And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The man child seed of the woman is Jesus Christ. God promised in Genesis 3:15 that this seed would one day crush the power of Satan, but in so doing would suffer for the price he paid while walking and dying on this earth.

Even though the woman is herself a Jewish remnant, there will also be a Jewish remnant within the remnant, a living remnant of believers who testify to the unbelieving Israelis that Jesus is the Messiah, and keep the commandments delivered to them by Jesus Christ. They are a sealed believing remnant of 144,000 Jews living among the one-third of Israel that flees to the Negev. This one-third will number between 1.9 and 2 million.

Revelation 7:4 – And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

Zechariah 13:8 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.

Through the testimony of the 144,000, and the preaching of the two witnesses who lead them, it will cause all Israel to be saved when Jesus returns, and a spiritual nation shall be born in a day.

Romans 11:25-27 – For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. [26] And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: [27] For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

Zechariah 13:9 – And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.

How the Japan Quake moved the Earth on its Axis

Experts have said the force of the earthquake in Japan shifted the earth’s axis by 25 centimetres and shortened the day by 1.8 microseconds – but what does this mean?

Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology has calculated that the earth’s axis moved by a quarter of a metre as a result of the devastating 8.9 magnitude earthquake in Japan, the largest ever recorded in the country.

The US Geological Survey said the main island of Japan had moved 2.4 metres as a result of the quake. It also said hundreds of aftershocks have hit Japan since the main quake, at least two dozen of which have topped magnitude 6, the size of the Christchurch earthquake.

The earthquake, which has had an appalling impact in Japan after causing a huge tsunami, is the fifth most powerful to hit the world in the past century.

It surpassed Japan’s biggest previous tremor, the Great Kanto Quake of 1923, which had a magnitude of 7.9 and killed more than 140,000 people in the Tokyo area.

It has also shortened the length of a day on earth by around 1.8 microseconds. To put that into context, one earth day is 24 hours, or 86,400 seconds long.

The length of days varies by around 1 millisecond a year naturally – 1,000 microseconds – and this isn’t the first time an earthquake has had an impact on time in this way. Last year’s earthquake in Chile, which had an 8.8 magnitude, also sped up the earth’s rotation and shaved 1.26 microseconds off the day.

The Great Sumatra-Andaman Earthquake & Tsunami!

Some 27 years ago I began a lectures series titled “A Geological Exposition of the Second Coming of Christ.” In that series I expo sited

on a wide variety of Scriptures describing the geological topographical changes in the crust of the earth, both horizontal and vertical, and the resultant affects it would produce on the geomagnetic and geophysical balance of the earth’s axis, as well as its movement in space.

For more than four months, teams of scientists have been evaluating the characteristics and results of the great earth movement that produced the massive killer tsunami on December 26, 2004 in the archipelago of the Malayan East Indies.

A correlation with what I have been teaching for 27 years, and the characteristics and results of the great earth movement, will be made in this Update, along with a preview of the same things which will occur many times over during the last three and one-half years of the tribulation period.

I have been teaching what follows for 29 years at Dardanelle MBC.

The first earthquake in the book of Revelation occurs on the opening of the sixth seal and begins the last three and one-half years of great tribulation with the initial movement of the earth’s massive tectonic structure.

Revelation 6:12A – And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake;

Revelation 6:14B – And every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
The last earthquake in the book of Revelation occurs on the pouring out of the last vial of wrath, and closes the movement of the earth’s massive tectonic structure.

Revelation 16:18 – And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

Revelation 16:20 – And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

There is no question that all the mountains and islands of this planet are firmly attached to the earth’s surface crust, nor is there any question that the earth’s crust floats and moves in the direction determined by the currents of magma underlying its crust, nor is there any question that the mountains and islands merely ride on top of the crust in the direction of the crust’s movement, nor is there any question that their longitudinal and latitudinal coordinates in microseconds change as they float as plate passengers, nor is there any question that their location coordinates in microseconds have considerably changed over the last 500 years, having fled from their coordinates of 500 years ago,

and are no longer found at their old locations.

Their 500 year changes in location will be much less than their tribulation movements.

The first great earthquake in Revelation will initiate an accelerated movement of the entire plate structure and, by the time of the last quake in Revelation, there will have been an average worldwide movement of 3 to 5 feet along the borders of the thousands of miles of plate boundaries across the surface of the earth. This will produce thousands of fantastic worldwide earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis along the borders of the tectonic plates for some three and one half years.

Now, let’s compare this claim of 3 to 5 feet worldwide movement with the Malay Archipelago event. Scientists estimated the average slippage along the entire length of the plate boundary was in excess of 16 feet, with some areas moving nearly 50 feet. The entire length of the fault boundary slippage was almost 800 miles, like a movement along a crack in the earth from Florida to New England.

An earthquake normally lasts less than 30 seconds, but the December 26 earthquake lasted at least 10 minutes, and had a magnitude between 9.0 and 9.3. Aftershocks have raked the area for the last four months. All the phenomena associated with worldwide tectonic plate movements were graphically described by the prophet Isaiah and by Jesus in many of his statements.

Isaiah 29:6 – Thou shalt be visited of the Lord of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.

Luke 21:25,26 – And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; [26] Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven

shall be shaken.

Some 30 years ago I was taught the principle of isostasy. It has to do with principles governing the geomagnetic and geophysical balance of the earth, and is directly affected by massive weight balance shifts in horizontal and vertical movements of the outer and inner crust. The earth has experienced more than one mountain building period which produced periods of shift in its isostasy, causing reversals of its magnetic field, and such events as abnormal percussion of its axis, causing a tottering of its axis, and a slight change in its solar orbit. I am convinced this will happen during the last three and one half years of the tribulation period. The single event in the December episode in the earth’s crust in the East Indies will be magnified by a multiplicity of similar events, which will lead to worldwide tectonic chaos. Scientists were amazed that the entire earth vibrated. The ground in Sri Lanka, more than 1000 miles from the earthquake epicenter, moved up and down by almost four inches, and no place on earth escaped movement. It was powerful enough to vibrate the whole planet as much as half an inch. The quake released an amount of energy equal to a 100 gigaton bomb. A one gigaton bomb releases the energy of a billion tons of TNT, and the power of that energy lasted longer than any quake ever recorded.

I have taught for 29 years that the earth’s outer crust, which now consists of some 27 tectonic plates, varying in size from very small to gigantic, would begin to move on the opening of the sixth seal and, by the time the movement ceased some three and one-half years later, there might be as many as 30 to 35 due to breakage into smaller pieces. And, because of this massive change in isostasy the planet would go out of balance sufficiently to briefly totter on its geomagnetic axis during the tribulation, and there would be a slight change in its elliptical orbit around the sun.

The Old Testament prophetic tribulation Scriptures are indicative of what I have written in the three preceding paragraphs, some of which are as follows.

Haggai 2:6 – For thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;

Ezekiel 38:19,20 – For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; [20] So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.

Isaiah 24:1 – Behold, the Lord maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.

Isaiah 13:13 – Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

Isaiah 24:19,20 – The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. [20] The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall,

and not rise again.

In Isaiah 24:19, the expression, “clean dissolved,” does not mean the entire earth melted. The literal meaning of the Hebrew word “parar” is “to break in pieces. It was translated as “clean dissolved” in the Authorized Version because any large object broken into smaller pieces would be more difficult to see in its individual smaller pieces than when it was whole. Isaiah 24:19 portrays an earth broken into smaller tectonic pieces of crust by the great excessive movements of the outer crust. Isaiah 19:20 describes the results of this great shifting – the earth will totter slightly in space on its axis as though it had lost its equilibrium like a drunk person. The word translated “cottage” is the Hebrew word “melunah,” which means “hammock.” It pictures a hammock tied between two trees, and pictures the earth swinging slightly in space like a man dozing in a hammock. Because of a great redistribution of weight in the earth’s upper crust, the earth may undergo a reversal of its geomagnetic poles.

The close of verse 20 advises it will never be found exactly as it was before the great shaking occurred.

I believe the Lord means just what he said in Matthew and Daniel concerning the tribulation period.

Matthew 24:21,22 – For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

[22] And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

Daniel 12:1 – And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

Nahum 1:6 – Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

And many New Testament Scriptures are companion in character to previously listed Old Testament prophecies of the coming terrible events of the tribulation period. Once the tectonic plates begin to shift on a worldwide basis, it will eventually build a cloud shroud around the earth in the stratosphere, as the smoke from thousands of volcanic eruptions is blown upward through the vast tropopause inversion layer. This movement of tectonic plates will send hail, fire, and brimstone down upon the earth in a fantastic display of graphic horror never seen before by man on a worldwide scale – just a few of these Scriptures follow.

Revelation 6:15 – And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

Revelation 8:5B – And there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

Revelation 11:13A – And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand:

Malachi 4:1 – For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Revelation 8:7 – The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of

trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

Revelation 8:12 – And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

Revelation 9:2 – And he opened the bottomless pit;

and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

Joel 3:15 – The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.

Joel 3:13,14 – Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.

[14] Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.

Jude 1:14,15 – And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, [15] To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Zechariah 14:4 – And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

Zechariah 13:8,9 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. [9] And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.

Malachi 4:2 – But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

Acts 2:20,21 – The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: [21] And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Acts 4:12 – Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Romans 10:13 – For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:17 – So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:9,10 – That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Earth’s Groaning and Travailing Will Soon Accelerate!

I have been consistent from my first book to the last in the insistence that there would be an increase in natural disasters in advance of the tribulation period, and that the increase would show a massive acceleration across the earth following the first great earthquake found in Revelation 6:12, which begins the last 1260 days of the tribulation period.

Revelation 6:12 – And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

In my last book of the early eighties, “Tribulation Birth Pangs from the Bottomless Pit,” I titled chapter 1, “The Birth Pangs”, and began it as follows:

Before the sons of God appear in glorious manifestation on the millennial earth, there is to be a groaning of God’s creation, and the earth will travail like a woman experiencing birth pangs. Birth pangs were occasionally felt in the earth’s crust by seismic shakings during the time of Paul’s writings, but Matthew indicated they would increase noticeably, even before the tribulation period, in a period of time identified as “the beginning of sorrows.”

Matthew 24:7,8 – For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. [8] All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Please allow me to continue discussing this acceleration of groaning by a crust that has been producing great groaning sounds for a very long time as its plates slid by one another to produce earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunami.

Romans 8:22 – For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

The word translated “creation” is “ktisis,” which means “all that which was created,” and, in this context, refers to all that God created, including the earth, all that is on it and in it.

The last massive groaning and travail in pain by earth occurred when man had reached such a state of utter degradation in ungodly immorality that God deemed it necessary to bring judgment on the human race, and he did it by using his creation, the earth, to bring it to pass.

God used his earth to destroy man who dwelt on it – He destroyed man with the earth.

Genesis 6:5,13 – And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. [13] And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I WILL DESTROY THEM WITH THE EARTH.

My comments on this verse, which I placed in “The Key of the Bottomless Pit,” more than 25 years ago, and the one which follows it, are quoted from an extract from the book as follows: (Begin Quote from Book)

“We are told repeatedly in the New Testament, “as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the days of the Son of man.” Please recall the magnitude of this first great tribulation in which only eight people survived, the rest being destroyed by water. Please observe in verse 13 that God, not man, did the destroying (I will destroy); and please note it was not done with man’s help or technology (with the earth). God used his own natural creation to destroy sinful mankind with water. How did God being it to pass? The answer is found in Genesis 7:11,12.

Genesis 7:11,12 – In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep BROKEN UP, and the windows of heaven were opened. [12] And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

Most biblical references of today positively identify the “great deep” of verse 11 as the crustal surface of the earth that underlies the seas and oceans of the world. May I remind you that God created the crust of the earth long ago and is able to manipulate it as he pleases. Virtually all references identify “windows of heaven” as the atmosphere of the earth, which was also a previous creation of God. So God took two things he has already created and manipulated them to bring forth water from above and below to destroy sinful mankind.

In the approaching Great Tribulation Period, God will once again manipulate the crust and its atmosphere to bring forth not water, but rather fire from below and from above. During the pages that follow, I will show that God intends to shake the earth to its geological foundations by his great power, and the results of that shaking will be the fulfillment of most of the destructive prophecies uttered by the revelator John and the Old Testament prophets concerning the last years of this age.” (End Quote from Book)

The soon coming tribulation period will see the greatest groaning and travail of the earth that has ever occurred since God placed man upon it.

Matthew 24:21 – For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Revelation 16:18 – And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

Romans 8:22,19 – For we know that the whole creation (ktisis) groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. [19] For the earnest expectation of the creature (ktisis) waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

The same Greek word, “ktisis” is used for “creation” and “creature.” In context it refers to all the things God created except man, and it is mankind that the rest of his creation is waiting to see manifested in glorified form, children of God in glorified bodies when Christ brings them back to earth at his Second Advent. The greatest massive groaning and travailing of the earth will occur during the last 1260 days of the tribulation period, which will be ended by the return of the saved to the earth at the Second Advent of Jesus. The massive local groaning and travailing of the earth’s crust that produced the tsunami in the East Indies is a forerunner of what we can expect on a worldwide basis during the great tribulation period. We have not yet entered into the tribulation period, but I do believe our entrance is just around the corner, not in the distant future.

The most important thing for a child of God is not to know WHEN it will occur, but to be ready now for its sudden arrival.

A child of God should want to have great rewards with Christ at his Second Advent. One surely needs to be in one of the Lord’s churches, and to be member who is watching for Christ’s coming in his lifestyle and work for Christ, as Jesus indicates in his warning to the church at Sardis. Men and women are not saved by their baptism, church membership, or works, but such things determine what you wear on the glorified body, and where you live relative to where the Lord positions himself in the millennium on this earth, and in the final kingdom on the new earth. I am saved eternally by grace through faith, but make no mistake, as one who is assured of living in heaven, I would be a spiritual fool if I did not follow my master’s example. He walked some 50 miles to be baptized by the proper authority, and, as the head and foundation of the first church, was faithful to death. Works by saved men and women determine what they wear and where they live after they have already arrived in heaven. You will not lose your inner garment, but you can lose your robe and your crown if you sow to the flesh rather than to the Spirit, who indwells you and tries to lead your saved soul in good works.

Ephesians 4:30 – And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Galatians 6:7 – Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

John warned the churches at Sardis and Philadelphia that lifestyles of individual church members would be manifested by the outer appearance of what they would be wearing one day in heaven.

Revelation 3:2-4 – Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. [3] Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. [4] Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

Revelation 3:11 – Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

His warning to the church at Laodicea is also for the entire church and the individual members of it. Most of the Lord’s churches today are in the spiritual condition of the church at Laodicea.

Revelation 3:14-22 – And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; [15] I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. [16] So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

[17] Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: [18] I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. [19] As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. [20] Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. [21] To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. [22] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Faithfulness in one of the Lord’s local churches will be manifested by the outer apparel he or she wears forever in heaven. Hopefully, this horrible tsunami in the East Indies may wake up some spiritually sleeping members to a more zealous service to God before the really great tsunamis of the tribulation period begin. Please take a look at the following Scriptures and ask yourself: How glorious will I appear in heaven?

the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

I Corinthians 15:51,52 – Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, [52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Daniel 12:3 – And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
