Exposition of Psalm 91 in the Light of Psalm 110 – Part 6

Having g one

through 12 verses of Psalm 91 in Parts 1 through 5, it is apparent this is a Psalm affirming the promises

of God that he will deliver his children in

his own way and time. We have seen the promise God fulfilled in delivering his only begotten Son from harm until the appointed time of the man Christ Jesus’ death. We have been led back into David’s life and the many times that God delivered him from harm until the time his death was to occur. And we are well aware of many examples of other saints in the Old and New Testaments that God protected until it was time for their scheduled appointment with physical death, such as Simeon at Christ’s circumcision, and John on the Isle of Patmos. In all these cases, God delivered them

from spiritual harm by demonic forces, men, the elements of nature, fiery furnaces, and now, in verse 13, we see the picture of God protecting his flesh and blood Son from death by acts of the animal and reptilian king dom

s. There are other examples such as Daniel in the Lion’s den, and Jonah in the whale, and David from the animals that threatened his flocks.

PSALM 91:13 – Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Hebrews 9:27,28 – And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: [28] So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

God knows the appointed time of my physical death. So, until that time, I believe he will protect me in the same way he has protected his children down through the ages. I have long tried to have the attitude of Queen Esther – “And if I perish, I perish.”

God has always controlled the non-human reptilian and animal kingdoms, including their normal diets and their cravings for flesh or plants, and he will change their normal habits and diets during the Millennium. God gave Adam dominion over the animals and reptilians in the beginning, but he lost that dominion when he sinned in the Garden of Eden. The dominion of man over the animal and reptilian kingdoms will be restored after Christ returns at his Second Advent as the great Lion of Judah.

Even small children will not be attacked during this period.

Isaiah 11:6-10 – The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

[7] And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. [8] And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den. [9] They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

[10] And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

Isaiah 65:25 – The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord.

The main emphasis in this part of the Psalm concerns God’s protection of the man Christ Jesus during his life in the flesh, and gives an insight to the love Jesus had as a sinless man for this heavenly Father, and the reaction of his

Father to that love.

PSALM 91:14 – Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

John 17:1-10 – These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: [2] As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. [3] And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. [4] I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. [5] And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. [6] I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

[7] Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. [8] For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them,

and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. [9] I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

[10] And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.

John 10:28,30 – And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. [29] My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. [30] I and my Father are one.

Philippians 2:8-10 – And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

[9] Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: [10] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

Replying to reporters’ questions aboard Air Force One on their way back from Prague, Friday afternoon, April 9, Barak Obama’s National Security Adviser James Jones said the administration was discussing how to jump-start the Middle East peace process but “doesn’t have a new US plan to offer.” These are ongoing discussions, he said, adding “we don’t intend to surprise anybody at any time.”
But he did not deny the intention to impose a future plan.

The reporters’ questions were prompted by DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s exclusive disclosures this week on Obama’s “borders first” plan for an Israeli-Palestinian accord and by debkafile’s earlier report this Friday on the reasons for the Israeli prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s last-minute decision to cancel his attendance at the US-sponsored summit on nuclear terror, opening in Washington Monday, April 11.

The White House is furious over the withdrawal, com ing as it did shortly after the US and Russian presidents signed a 30 percent warhead reduction treaty

Intelligence-atomic energy minister Dan Meridor will represent the prime minister.
Relations have gone from bad to worse since the flare-up between US president Barack Obama and the Israeli prime minister at their White House meeting on March 23.

They have since dropped another notch over a new falling-out between the two governments, focusing this time on the absence of security borders in the new US Middle East plan, our sources reported.

Washington took his withdrawal from the nuclear summit as a message that Netanyahu would no longer cooperate with the US on security matters so long as the Obama administration pursued a policy Israel regarded as detrimental to its security interests.

debkafile’s Jerusalem sources say the prime minister acted out of two motives:

1. Israeli government circles were advised to read two reports leaked to US newspapers ( Washington Post: Obama weighs new peace plan for the Middle East and the New York Times: Should US design Mideast peace plan?) which appeared to herald the White House’s intention to impose a peace settlement on Israel.

Our sources in Washington and Jerusalem named National Security Adviser James Jones as the source of the leaks.

2. One senior source said the leaked reports were serious because “President Obama has his mind set on getting the borders of Israel and the future Palestinian state negotiated and settled in four months. This process leaves no room for any discussion on the security frontiers promised Israel for decades, yet the US president expects the Netanyahu government to accept Washington’s borders-cum-Palestinian state package without demur.

His planners have shaped a Palestinian state within borders that make no provision for Israeli security. That is something the Netanyahu government will never accept.”

At the end of their stormy conversation in the White House, Obama handed Netanyahu a list of 11 issues on which he asked Jerusalem to respond. The prime minister continues to withhold his replies having been convinced from close study of the issues/queries that they were clever formulations designed to trick him into endorsing the new American plan for the Middle East.

Without answers to Obama’s eleven puzzles, Netanyahu does not feel his trip to Washington is necessary, especially when the only promises he expects to be kept are those of Egyptian, Turkish and other Muslim rulers to slam Israel for its presumed atomic arsenal.

Equally unnecessary is the US Middle East envoy George Mitchell’s umpteenth shuttle between Jerusalem and Ramallah. His next trip scheduled for April 11 was also called off.

This episode alone illustrates the depth of discord and mistrust clouding relations between the two governments, originating on Israel’s side from disappointment over the Obama administration’s failure to make good on his high-sounding pledges of tangible steps to abort Iran’s nuclear arms program.

Friday, too, President Obama said he is working with allies to develop new sanctions on Iran, but can’t yet say what they are and whether they might be effective in dissuading Iran from pursuing nuclear weapons. In an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopolous, Obama said: “Do we have a guarantee as to the sanctions we are able to institute at this stage are automatically going to change Iranian behavior? Of course we don’t.”

This was the first time the US president admitted that his Iran policy was at least just as likely to fail as to succeed.

In one scene, as drivers halt their vehicles for Holocaust Remembrance Day’s memorial siren, the Arab hero provocatively asks an old man standing at solemn attention: “And what about the Holocaust you perpetrated against the Palestinians?”

Dwarfing and distorting the Holocaust serves our enemies – from Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Ramallah figurehead Mahmoud Abbas (who earned a PhD in Moscow for a dissertation which deniedthe Holocaust and simultaneously blamed it on Zionists).

This is the common Arab warp of history.

It goes entirely unchallenged in the Arab/Muslim milieu and is fast becoming axiomatic in Europe and among the so-called progressives who proliferate in America’s media and campuses.

Their assorted misrepresentations omit to mention that the very word genocide was coined post-Holocaust specifically to describe what was plotted against the Jewish people. Eventually the term was devalued and used in reference to any bloody combat, though Europe’s Jews were never a combatant side and instigated no aggression against Germany. Not even the remotest casus belli existed against them.

Obama is not only attempting to make Jerusalem, the Landmark of God in Israel, a joint city of Arabs and Jews, but is also changing the political deterrent Landmark nuclear policies that have prevented a nuclear holocaust for more than 60 years.

Proverbs 22:28 – Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.

Deuteronomy 19:14 – Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour’s landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it.

In the Old Testament a Landmark was a fixed object used to mark out or identify an owner’s property.

Obama is trying to shift God’s landmark grants to suit the wishes of descendants of Ishmael rather than those of Jacob.

Obama is also changing the nuclear landmark polices by our former Presidents that have prevented a nuclear holocaust for many years.

Obama is not dealing with peacemakers in his far left political persuasion circles. He is dealing with the last days assortment of ungodly trucebreakers Paul described in his second Epistle to Timothy.

He is a novice among fierce world leaders.

Imposed Solution in the Middle East

There is growing evidence that the U.S. government is thinking of presenting its own comprehensive peace plan on the Israel-Palestinian issue. If the Obama administration does move in this direction, however, I predict that it will be a major failure and humiliation. The administration has just signaled to the Palestinians that they want to make the indirect talks fail, since then the U.S. government will make an “imposed” offer that will adopt almost all of their demands.

In addition, the strategy is deeply against diplomatic norms. U.S. policy has always been to insist that the two parties will decide on the issues.

For many years, Israel has been making concessions based on an understanding that there would be no attempt at an imposed solutio

n. This, then, would be the third commitment from past years that the Obama administration would break.

The first was that any diplomatic solution could include Israel keeping some areas – settlement blocs – across the pre-1967 borders (though a State Department note back in October 2009 hinted that would be possible). The second was agreeing that Israel could build in east Jerusalem if it stopped building in the West Bank, a promise noisily and insultingly broken recently.

There is no reason to believe that Palestinian security forces are ready to operate effectively on their own – though Abbas cannot be expected to acknowledge that.

Nor are other Palestinian institutions mature. Establish a Palestinian state without first establishing the rule of law, guarantees of basic human rights, a relatively clean and efficient civil service, and an end to terrorist incitement in media and mosques, and the result almost surely will be a failed state. Then what? Send American troops in to stop Hamas, al-Qaeda or Iranian-backed militias from taking over

? Ask the Israelis to do the job?

Consider beginning with this small step: a referendum. Ask the Palestinians flat out: Are you prepared to accept a two-state solution? Are you willing to co-exist with a Jewish neighbor? Are you open to compromises in the interest of peace

Successful nuclear deterrence requires that the Iranian leadership prioritizes the lives of Iranian citizens above its geopolitical or ideological goals, and that the White House is willing to kill hundreds of thousands of Iranians should authorities in Tehran or their proxies ever use nuclear weapons. The president, however, is not. During his campaign for president, Obama criticized Sen. Hillary Clinton for declaring that the U.S. could “obliterate” Iran should the Islamic Republic

use nuclear weapons. After such a reaction, neither the Supreme Leader nor any of his senior advisors believes Obama is willing to pull the retaliatory trigger.

Realists who suggest that Mutually Assured Destruction worked should reread history.

Deterrence almost broke down on several occasions, bringing the U.S. and Soviet Union to the brink of nuclear war: The Berlin crisis and the Cuban missile crisis each nearly escalated beyond control. Simply put, the world got lucky, and that was with only two main nuclear powers: Any Iranian bomb would trigger a cascade of proliferation that would lead to half a dozen nuclear Middle Eastern states.

The Islamic Republic ascribes to a value set far different than our own. Iranians may not be suicidal, but the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps who would have custody over Iran’s nuclear program may be far more willing to absorb mass death. It may be comforting to believe that the U.S. can contain or deter Tehran’s worst ambitions but, absent any preparation to do so, the White House instead emboldens the Islamic Republic. Netanyahu cancels US nuclear trip

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has cancelled a visit to the US where he was to attend a summit on nuclear security, Israeli officials say.

Mr Netanyahu made the decision after learning that Egypt and Turkey intended to raise the issue of Israel’s presumed nuclear arsenal, media reports said.

Mr Obama is due to host dozens of world leaders at the two-day conference, which begins in Washington on Monday.

Israel has never confirmed or denied that it possesses atomic weapons.

“The prime minister has decided to cancel his trip to Washington to attend the nuclear conference next week, after learning that some countries including Egypt and Turkey plan to say Israel must sign the NPT,” Reuters news agency quoted a senior Israeli official as saying.

Israel’s Intelligence and Atomic Energy Minister Dan Meridor will take Netanyahu’s place in the nuclear summit, Israeli radio said.

More than 40 countries are expected at the meeting, which will focus on limiting the spread of nuclear weapons to militant groups.

Landmark treaty

Israeli reports said there were concerns that Egypt and Turkey would call for Israel to sign the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Along with India, Pakistan and North Korea, Israel is one of just four states that have not signed up to the NPT, which has 189 signatories.

Earlier this week, President Obama unveiled the new Nuclear Posture Review – which narrows the circumstances in which the US would use nuclear weapons – outlining his country’s long-term strategy of nuclear disarmament.

On Thursday, the US president and his Russian counterpart, Dmitry Medvedev, signed a landmark nuclear arms treaty in the Czech capital, Prague.

That treaty commits the former Cold War enemies to reduce the number of deployed strategic warheads to 1,550 each – 30% lower than the previous ceiling.

The BBC’s Kim Ghattas in Washington says the cancellation of Mr Netanyahu’s Washington visit comes at a time of frosty relations between the two states.

The Israeli premier failed to see eye-to-eye with Mr Obama during his most recent US visit last month on the stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace process, our correspondent adds.

Washington criticised the building of Jewish homes in East Jerusalem, which prompted the Palestinians to pull out

of US-brokered indirect peace talks.

There were also reports that one of Mr Netanyahu’s confidants called Mr Obama a “disaster” for Israel.

If this patch of Palestinian land never rightly belonged to a mythical Jewish People, what then for the legitimacy of the “Jewish homeland.” And for that depiction by British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour in his November 1917 letter to Lord Rothschild?

In 1948, President Harry Truman, a Christian Zionist, was advised by Secretary of State George Marshall not to recognize this enclave as a state. This WWII general assured Truman that he would vote against him-and did.

That military tradition resurfaced in January 2010 when General David Petraeus dispatched a team to brief Admiral Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, on the perils that Israel still poses to U.S. national security. Mullen was reportedly shocked.

He should not have been surprised. Such insights are hardly new. More than six decades ago the Joint Chiefs of Staff cautioned Truman about the “fanatical concepts of the Jewish leaders” and their plans for “Jewish military and economic hegemony over the entire Middle East.”

In December 1948, Albert Einstein and 27 prominent Jews urged us “not to support this latest manifestation of fascism.” They warned that a “Leader State” was the goal of the “terrorist party” that has governed Israel over all but a handful of the past 62 years.

The Joint Chiefs foresaw the “Zionist strategy will seek to involve [the U.S.] in a continuously widening and deepening series of operations intended to secure maximum Jewish objectives.”

Soon after Truman recognized Israel, his presidential campaign train was “refueled” by Zionist Jews with $400,000 in contributions ($3.6 million in 2010 dollars). Soon thereafter, Israel betrayed the U.S. by allying with the British and the French to invade Egypt.

Though London and Paris soon abandoned the operation, months more were required to dissuade Tel Aviv from pursuing their expansionist agenda then-as now-for Greater Israel.

Outraged by Israeli duplicity, Eisenhower sought help to rein them in. He soon found that even then (as now) the Israel lobby dominated Congress. Thus the former Supreme Allied Commander appeared on television with an appeal directly to the American people. Then-unlike now-a U.S. Commander in Chief threatened to reduce assistance to Israel.

To revamp Israel’s tattered image, New York public relations expert Edward Gottlieb retained novelist Leon Uris to write Exodus. Jewish Zionists have routinely proven themselves skilled storytellers and masterful mythmakers.

This 1958 bestseller was translated into dozens of languages and quickly made into a movie for the 1960 Christmas season starring Paul Newman and featuring Peter Lawford, brother-in-law of the just-elected President John F. The Myth of a Loyal Ally

Phil Tourney survived the June 8, 1967 Israeli attack on the USS Liberty that left 34 Americans dead and 175 wounded. The region-wide dynamics accompanying that provocative Six-Day land grab guaranteed the conflicts that remain so perilous to U.S. national security.

It was during this Israeli operation that Tourney gave a one-fingered salute to armed Israeli troops as they hovered in helicopters over the USS Liberty while preparing to rappel to the deck and, he surmises, kill the survivors and sink the ship.

Just then the captain aboard a nearby U.S. carrier scrambled jets to assist a vessel under attack by an “ally.” When Israeli intelligence intercepted the transmission, the helicopters fled only to have President Lyndon Johnson and Defense Secretary Robert McNamara recall our fighters.

Soon thereafter, Israeli torpedo boats pulled alongside the USS Liberty to inquire if those aboard needed assistance. Those same boats had just blown a hole in the hull, killing 25 Americans. Israeli machine-gunners had then strafed stretcher-bearers, firemen, life rafts and even the fire hoses-all clear war crimes. Only then did this ally display the chutzpah to ask if our servicemen required assistance.

Had that notorious land grab failed to advance the narrative of Israel as the victim, what might be the condition of U.S. national security today? Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently conceded the duplicity that continues to typify this “special relationship.”

As he confessed: “Our policy on Jerusalem is the same policy followed by all Israeli governments for 42 years, and it has not changed. As far as we are concerned, building in Jerusalem is the same as building in Tel Aviv.”

In other words, the 1967 war was neither defensive nor preemptive but an outright taking of land that, one year later, Tel Aviv acknowledged as precisely what concerned the Pentagon 62 years ago.

In effect, Netanyahu confirmed that this relationship reflects multi-decade premeditation.

The U.S. has since discredited itself by protecting this “ally” from the rule of law for its taking and brutal occupation of land that rightly belongs to others.

Even now, few know that Mathilde Krim, a former Irgun operative, was “servicing” our Commander-in-Chief in the White House the night the 1967 war began. Her husband, Arthur, then chaired the finance committee for the Democratic National Committee.

Are those who champion this “state” the same belief-makers responsible for the myth of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction? Iraqi meetings in Prague? Iraqi mobile biological weapons laboratories? High-level Iraqi contacts with Al Qaeda? Iraqi yellowcake uranium from Niger?

Was any of that intelligence legitimate? Whose interests were served by deceiving the U.S. to wage war in the Middle East

? By the Suez Crisis? By the Six-Day War? By covering up the attack on the USS Liberty?

Adhering to an Enemy

?
How are U.S. interests served by treating Israel as a legitimate state? When was Israeli behavior anything other than duplicitous? At what point do we concede the common source of the storylines foisted on an imperiled global public?

Who created the narrative that saw us segue seamlessly from a global Cold War to a global War on Terrorism? Remember the promise of a post-Cold War “peace dividend”? Who induced the U.S. to wage a war whose costs could total $3 trillion, including $700 billion in interest?

Why is debt always the prize? At the end of WWII, the U.S. was home to 50% of the world’s productive power. Were we induced to hollow out our economy by the same consensus-shapers that induced us to wage war in the Middle East?

Do these devastating dynamics trace to a common source?

Who benefits from the “Islamo” fascist narrative? Whose storyline-really-is The Clash of Civilizations? Who has long spied on the U.S. and routinely transferred to other nations our most sensitive defense technologies?

Who had the means, motive, opportunity and, importantly, the stable nation state intelligence required to perpetrate such a debilitating fraud from inside the U.S. government? And from inside other governments that joined the “coalition of the willing”?

If not Israel and its supporters-who? In effect, are those now advocating an “unbreakable bond” with Israel giving aid and comfort to an enemy within?

Israel is right to worry.

It was never legitimate.

As both an enabler and a target of this fraud, the U.S. has an obligation to concede its source-and to secure the weapons of mass destruction now under the control of this enclave.

Thousands Expected at Joshua’s Gravesite

(Israelnationalnews.com) Many thousands of people are expected to pay a midnight visit to the grave of Joshua bin Nun on Thursday night, marking the 3,254th anniversary of his death.

The mass visit will take place, as it does on a smaller scale 3-4 times a year, under the protection of the IDF, because the gravesite is located in an Arab village in Area B, under administrative control of the Palestinian Authority. The village, Timnat (Kifl) Hares (Joshua 2:9), is just north of the Shomron city of Ariel.

The event is organized by the Shomron Regional Council, the Shechem Echad organization, and the Shomron Religious Council, with help from the Shomron Residents Committee.

The worshipers and visitors will also have a chance to visit the tombs of Joshua’s father and Calev ben Yefuneh. The latter, together with Joshua and ten others, served as the Twelve Scouts sent by Moses to investigate the Promised Land; only Calev and Joshua remained true to the Divine promise that Israel would inherit the Land.

The site will be open from 10:30 Thursday night until 4:00 on Friday morning.

Every hour, on the hour, the well-known Aleinu prayer – composed by Joshua – will be recited aloud.

Following the handover of the gravesite to PA control, the gravesite was vandalized and desecrated several times by Arabs. However, after the army made it clear that this would not be tolerated, the situation improved.

In past centuries, Torah scholars from Jerusalem were known to visit the gravesite of Joshua bin Nun after the Passover holiday, and study the Zohar (Kabbalah) there over the course of two days.
