A year into Barack Obama’s term in office, he has joined a long list of false messiahs.

Jewish history features several such messiahs, and now it’s America’s turn to have one.

Americans are already showing a growing tendency to be ashamed of the praise they lavished at him in January of last year. Obama is a good guy, an excellent orator, and a brilliant campaigner; however, he is not America’s redeemer or humanity’s savior. In fact, he is not even a successful president.

If we ignore for a moment some cosmetic improvements that occurred during his term in office here and there, we can see that the United States at this time is facing an almost identical situation to the one left by President George W. Bush.

The economy is facing a very grim state of affairs, thousands of soldiers are being dispatched to battlefield overseas, America has failed to bring peace to the Middle East, Iran blatantly ignores it, and Osama bin Laden still maintains a recording studio somewhere in the heart of Asia.

In short, all the things that used to be there are still there, and things are possibly even worse.

In a recent television interview, the president candidly spoke about the possibility that he will not be elected to another term in office. Sarah Palin, imagine that, is suddenly emerging as a candidate that could replace him three years from now; and it’s not because of her as much as it is because of him.

In retrospect, it is already clear that what we saw here during the presidential campaign was deceptive. The Bush-hating community created the Obama legend out of nothing. It took a young and articulate senator with zero experience and presented him as a quick fix to all the nation’s problems.

W hen

he took his place at the starting line to the White House race, he could not boast of even one proven leadership achievement, yet nonetheless he was presented to the public as a surefire success story.

America’s citizens fell too easily into the trap laid by his public relations staff.

Americans jumped at the rare opportunity to elect a black president, but forgot that they are facing a few more urgent problems aside from the racial issue.

At this time we need to pray that the price of this adventure will not be too high. We also need to learn the lesson: Presidential elections are not a beauty contest. People who look great and can speak wonderfully well do not necessarily also know how to manage.

Hence, the next time an articulate candidate declares “yes, we can,” we need to find out whether he is talking about his ability to get elected or about his ability to lead a government. The Obama case proves that these two talents are largely unconnected.

President, welcome to Brown country!

No, Nashua isn’t technically in Massachusetts. But since your doppelganger Deval Patrick tried to extend our sales tax across the border – and thousands of Bay Staters buy their sales-tax-free booze there already – we’ve come to think of New Hampshire as a colder, more libertarian extension of our state.

Kind of like Alaska, but without the hot governor.

New Hampshire is full of Scott Brown voters, even though they couldn’t cast a ballot. Three weeks ago, Brown offices were packed with New Hampshire folks who came south to make calls, wave signs and knock on doors. They drove to Massachusetts in order to send Washington a message, and now they’re wondering if you’ve gotten it.

We’ll find out in Nashua.

The pundits say your staff put New Hampshire on your schedule because they wanted you to make your case on the economy before a swing state audience.

Have you checked the polls lately

? Massachusetts is a swing state now.

According to Public Policy Polling, just 44 percent of Bay State voters approve of the job you’re doing as president. That’s in a one-party, Democratic duchy where you got 62 percent of the vote just 15 months ago.

There aren’t any PPP numbers for New Hampshire, but around here liberals are like the temperatures. The far ther north you go,

the lower the numbers get.

New Hampshire practically invented the “fiscal conservative, socially moderate” brand of American politics that Brown embodies. They’re not much on government-enforced morality, but boy can they do math!

They’re the kind of folks who, reading about your $3.8 trillion budget, aren’t going to ask “Oh, boy! How much of that do I get?” No, they’ll want to know who’s going to get stuck paying for it.

And when they see that 40 percent of your record spending spree is borrowed money – another $1.6 trillion on top of the $1.3 trillion deficit last year – they’re going to worry about how their kids will ever be able to pay it all back.

Your economic plan – taking money from one working taxpayer and giving it to the government to create a job for another – leaves Granite Staters skeptical.

It doesn’t help that just a few weeks ago, your Recovery.gov showed millions of dollars going to “save or create” jobs in New Hampshire’s 4th, 6th and 27th districts. Neat trick for a state with only two congressmen.

In fact, the more you talk about spending, the more grumpy Granite State voters are likely to get.

For all your spin about a $250 billion “spending freeze” over 10 years (out of $40 trillion in projected spending), they’re unimpressed. Sen. Judd Gregg said yesterday that your administration “is not working to end its drunken sailor ways” and New Hampshire knows it.

In Nashua, you’re going to be greeted by people facing 8 percent unemployment. That’s lower than the national average, but high for the hard working people of New Hampshire.

They want to hear how you’re going to help turn that around.

Massive spending, looming tax hikes and bigger government? Brown ran against all three and you see how that turned out.

Mr. President, your short trip to Nashua could be a very long day.

Earthquakes, Famines, and Pestilences followed by Fearful Sights and Great Signs!

Matthew 24:7,8 – For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines,

and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. [8] All these are the beginning of sorrows.

In previous prophecy updates we have discussed the importance of the word “odin”, which is the Greek word translated “sorrows” in Matthew 24:8. It refers to the birth pangs experienced by a woman in childbirth. So in using this word Jesus indicates they will follow this pattern just before he comes again. A woman’s birth pains begin with a single pain and then continue to increase in frequency and intensity until

the child is born.

These three phenomena, earthquakes, famine, and pestilence had never, in historical records, followed this pattern until Old Jerusalem and the Temple Mount were taken from the Jordanians in 1967. Since that time all three have developed such a pattern. In the two previous prophecy updates we covered earthquakes and pestilence. But what about famine, is it also following the same pattern? Absolutely! The population explosion that has suddenly burst on the scene should come as no surprise to mankind.

The world’s population has roughly, in somewhat similar manner, followed the principle of daily doubling pennies. Suppose that someone proposed to give you five billion dollars if you would double a penny he gave you for forty days. Would you take the deal? A single penny on the first day would produce two cents on the second day, four cents on the third day, eight cents on the fourth day, sixteen cents on the fifth day, thirty-two cents on the sixth day, sixty-four cents on the seventh day, and only $1.28 on the eighth day.

So, based on what you’ve read so far, it seems like a pretty good deal. But on day forty you would have to fork over move than five billion dollars. This principle is now being added into the famine equation.

The world’s famine outbreaks in the developing countries have been occurring closer and closer together in time since World War II, and this trend, like a woman’s birth pangs, will definitely accelerate until Jesus comes.

Why? A few thousand years ago eight men and women descended in an ark “upon the mountains of Ararat,” and then began to multiply. At first, like the penny, the increase was slow and insignificant numerically. When Jesus was born, the world population had only reached about 200 million. When Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492, it had only reached 400 million. But, like the multiplying multiples of the penny, it began to accelerate about the time of the Civil War, and exploded after the Great Depression of the thirties. In 1989 the world population reached five billion and, the same year, eleven million of the earth’s residents died of starvation.

The world population passed six billion in October of 1999, and is predicted to reach ten billion in 2030. There is no way under heaven that the developing countries across the Bible Lands of Asia and Africa, where most of this increase is forecast to occur, can fail to have an ever increasing, massive famine. Some say the population will only reach 8.5 billion in 2030. But even if this is true, how can the additional 3.5 billion be fed if 11 million died of starvation in 1989 with a population of only five billion.

In the late seventies, when I wrote my second book, The Tribulation Triad, I pointed out that the famines absolutely had to continue to increase in frequency and intensity. It is even more of a sure thing today! One might suppose that the prediction of thirty million Africans dying from AIDS during the next quarter century, would cause the predicted population growth to be canceled out. Nothing could be farther from the truth! In spite of this staggering AIDS toll, Africa’s population is expected to double during this time period.

Some say, don’t worry, agricultural technology will solve the famine problem.

No way! The latest U.N. study found ten percent of the world’s soil profile badly damaged.

The three-year study accessed soil conditions on a global scale, and involved more than 250 soil scientists. It marked the first time since World War II that soil profiles had been assessed on a global scale. As reported by Larry B. Stammer in the Los Angeles Times, the study found that “about two-thirds of all seriously eroded land is in Asia and Africa, home to most of the world’s poor.” The article, using the report as its basis, stated: “Despite the much acclaimed green revolution of the past several decades, which produced unprecedented gains in food production through the introduction of fertilizers and hybrid grains, the per-capita food production has declined in about eighty developing countries in the past decade.” The report, Vital Signs 1993: The Trends That Are Shaping Our Future, as reported by David Brisco in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette of July 18, 1993, stated: “This new report shows the first clear sign that population is outpacing the food available for humans. The trend is mostly because of record world population growth, but also reflects a slowdown in decades

of increasing food supplies.

The main sources of food – farms, ranches, and oceans – all appear to be approaching, or may have reached, their maximum per-capita output, according to Vital Signs 1993.” The simple truth is this, the world’s maximum food production, since the mid-nineties, has not been able to keep up with the stork, and the ever increasing population will cause it to fall farther and farther behind. Earthquakes, pestilence, and famine will continue to increase the pain of God’s creation while it awaits the manifestation of his sons at the appearance of his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

“Never again!”

So declared Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu as he spoke at Auschwitz-Birkenau on Wednesday, the 65th anniversary of its liberation.

Netanyahu used his speech at the notorious death camp to nudge what he referred to as “the enlightened nations of the world” to recognize that “murderous evil” has to be stopped as early as possible to prevent it from achieving its aims. Unfortunately, the events of the past week show clearly that evil is on the march, and “the enlightened nations of the world” are on a coffee break from enlightenment.

As Netanyahu addressed the world from the site of the most prolific genocide factory in human history, at the place where over a million Jews were gassed, starved, beaten, raped, frozen, shot and hanged and then burned in ovens, Iran’s leaders were declaring loudly that they intend to finish what the Nazis started. They will destroy the Jewish people.

Iran’s dictator supremo Ali Khamenei used a photo-op with Mauritania’s President Mohammed Ould Abdel Aziz – who cut his own country’s diplomatic ties with Israel last January – to renew his pledge to commit yet another Holocaust. As he put it, “Surely, the day will come when the nations of the region will witness the destruction of the Zionist regime… When the destruction happens will depend on how the Islamic nations approach the issue.”

And as he spoke, the ability of “the enlightened nations of the world” to deny that the Iranian regime is building a nuclear arsenal was finally and utterly wiped away.

On Monday, Germany’s Der Speigel reported that evidence gleaned from document intercepts and from the testimony of two senior Iranian defectors who were involved in the Islamic Republic’s nucle ar progr

am, proves beyond a reasonable doubt that Iran’s nuclear program is not a peaceful one. The Iranians are designing and building nuclear warheads for their Shihab-3 ballistic missiles. According to a summary of the findings now circulating through the halls of power, Teheran will have the wherewithal to build nuclear warheads by 2012.

So the Der Spiegel report showed that Iran is developing the capacity to carry out a second Holocaust in under a hundred years. And yet, in the face of their sure knowledge that evil is on the march, as they did 70 years ago, the “enlightened nations” of Europe are siding with evil against its would-be victims.

On a popular level, as Sunday’s release of the Jewish Agency’s annual report on global anti-Semitism documented, there were more anti-Semitic attacks in Europe in 2009 than there had been in any single year since the Holocaust. The report stated that the attacks were carried out by Jew-haters on both the Left and the Right.

Europe’s anti-Semites wasted no time in proving the report was accurate. On Monday, Polish Catholic Bishop Tadeusz Pieronek said that Jews have “expropriated” the Holocaust as “a propaganda weapon.” Jews, he claimed, “enjoy good press because they have powerful financial means behind them, enormous power and the unconditional backing of the United States, and this favors a certain arrogance that I find unbearable.”

Then we have the political alliance of leftist anti-Semites with Muslim anti-Semites. Together they not only attack Jews, they provide political cover for expanding those attacks by rejecting Israel’s right to exist and justifying violent attacks against Jews outside Israel as the logical outcome of their politically correct anger at Israel for refusing to destroy itself. Case in point is Ilmar Reepalu, the mayor of Malmo, Sweden.

Malmo is one of the most dangerous places for Jews in Europe. The city’s small Jewish population is fleeing.

The situation in Malmo was graphically demonstrated last March when Israel’s tennis stars Amir Haddad and Andy Ram faced off against Swedish rivals at a Davis Cup tie in Malmo and Swedish authorities closed their game to the public.

Malmo’s Muslim residents and their post-Christian partners on the Left threatened to attack them. Malmo’s authorities didn’t think it was their responsibility to protect their Israeli guests. So Haddad and Ram were forced to play in an empty stadium.

Interviewed in a local paper this week about the rise of anti-Semitic attacks in his city, Reepalu blamed Israel. In his view, the violence against Jews in Malmo by the far Left and Muslims, “spilled over from Gaza.”

By his lights the Jewish national liberation movement is just as bad as

the Jewish annihilation movement. As he put it, “We accept neither Zionism nor anti-Semitism. They are extremes that place themselves above other groups they think are less important.”

Reepalu then blamed Malmo’s Jews for their victimization by his fellow leftists and his Muslim comrades. As far as he is concerned, the Jews brought the violence on themselves last March when they responded to Haddad and Ram’s treatment by holding a demonstration supporting Israel.

In his view, Malmo’s Jews need to separate themselves away from Israel, not support it.

Since the Holocaust, old-style right-wing anti-Semites in Europe have had a hard time getting political traction for their desire to see Jews suffer. But by conflating Jews with Israel, their colleagues on the Left have made sticking it to the Jews, our state and our supporters the easiest way to score political points. So it was that in her first speech as the EU’s new foreign policy chief, Britain’s Catherine Ashton went out of her way to condemn Israel for building in Jerusalem, closing its border with Hamas-controlled Gaza and defending itself from Palestinian terrorists in Judea and Samaria.

AS FOR Israel’s friends, they are hounded, driven out of Europe and where possible placed on trial. Dutch MP Geert Wilders, the head of the Netherland’s Freedom Party, is one of Israel’s greatest supporters in Europe. Today Wilders is on trial for publicly criticizing what he views as the endemic anti-Semitism of the Koran.

Against the backdrop of the persistence of right-wing Jew hatred, and the politically ascendant Red-Green alliance of anti-Semites, it makes sense that Europe will not raise a finger to prevent another Holocaust.

And so, not surprisingly, in the wake of the Der Spiegel report, the EU’s foreign ministers got together and decided not to support any new sanctions against Iran – unless they are passed by the UN Security Council. Since Europe’s foreign ministers all know full well the Security Council will not pass sanctions against Iran because China has announced that it will veto any sanctions against Iran, this week the EU’s foreign ministers got together and essentially said they’re okay with another Holocaust.

With Europe out, and with “enlightened” Asian, African and South American countries never really in the game, the only “enlightened” country that might be expected to stop murderous evil before it can carry out its aims is the United States. But unfortunately, like the Europeans, the Americans don’ t feel like being responsible.

President Barack Obama, his administration and many of his fellow Democrats would rather take on Israel.

This week 54 Democratic members of Congress wrote Obama a letter asking him to apply pressure on Israel to remove its restrictions on the import of goods – including dual use goods like construction materials – to Hamas-controlled Gaza.

Never mind that under US law it is legally problematic to provide any aid, (including the $300 million Obama has pledged) to Gaza in light of the fact that it is controlled by a terrorist organization.

For its part, the administration apparently believes that there is no reason to seek the overthrow of Hamas simply because the US is required by US law and binding UN Security Council resolutions to do so. The US Treasury Department has reportedly just removed all but one Hamas official from its list of known terrorists and so paved the way for Hamas to receive funding from Europe.

st envoy George Mitchell came up with a revolutionary new idea. In the face of Palestinian intransigence, Mitchell introduced the earthshaking concept of pressuring Israel to make concessions to the Palestinians.

This week Mitchell asked Israel to stop all of its counterterror operations in Judea and Samaria, and allow Palestinian forces to operate not only in the Palestinian areas, but in predominantly Israeli areas as well. Specifically, Mitchell asked Israel to allow Palestinian forces to deploy in what the arguably defunct Oslo agreements refer to as Area C, where the Palestinian Authority has no security authority whatsoever.

When it comes to Iran, the Obama administration behaves as though the jury is still out on whether the mullahs are even seeking nuclear weapons. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said last Thursday that Iran might face some tough statements from the world if it continues to refuse to be appeased by the Obama White House, although she couldn’t say whether any actual steps would be taken to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, which she wouldn’t acknowledge the mullahs are developing.

And in his State of the Union address on Wednesday, Obama himself made clear that the US will do nothing to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. As far as Obama is concerned, the nuclear arsenal in most urgent need of evisceration is the US’s nuclear arsenal.

ALL OF this just goes to show that at the end of the day, now when the chips are down, there is only one “enlightened” nation in the world that may actually do something to prevent the advance of murderous evil. And Israel unfortunately is of two minds on the issue.

On the one hand, we have Netanyahu, who is clearly focused on preventing another Holocaust of Jewry. But on the other hand, we have Defense Minister Ehud Barak, who on Tuesday claimed that the absence of peace with the Palestinians – not Iran – is the greatest threat that Israel faces today.

As he put it, “The lack of defined boundaries within Israel, and not an Iranian bomb, is the greatest threat to our future.”

Barak’s outrageous pronouncement is a succinct encapsulation of the great aspiration of the Israeli Left.

If he could only be right, then Israel would be able to singlehandedly solve all the problems of the region and be immediately adored by the likes of the EU and the Obama administration just by making itself smaller.

So with the scourge of moral and strategic blindness rampant not only in Europe and America, but within his own government, Netanyahu rapidly approaches his moment of truth.

In what will undoubtedly be the most fateful decision of his life, he will have to decide whether Iran will become a nuclear power, or whether Israel, standing alone, will prevent it from becoming a nuclear power. Was his declaration of “Never Again,” at Auschwitz just the bloviating of yet another “enlightened” leader who lacks the courage of his convictions

? Or was it a solemn vow that Zionism’s promise will be kept?

Since my first tour of duty in the Middle East in 1952 and 1953 I have believed oil in the Middle East would play the major role in the final war of this age which ends at its final battle, the great Battle of Armageddon. In my first book in 1967 I wrote about the part oil would play in future national motivations of the major powers.

The rising seventh Kingdom will incorporate all the cunning and skill in the arts and sciences that have been handed down from the previous six kingdoms. The ten horns of Revelation 13:1 are ten Arab nations who will form the nucleus of the final kingdom, and the ten crowns are the power of the kings that will rile them. For years we have pictured the typical Arab as a scrawny little fellow on a camel in the desert with a comic expression on his face. This viewpoint is quickly changing. Oil is replacing the U.S. dollar in international importance – and soon ten Arab nations will have gained economic control of much of the earth’s wealth. We will not try to stop them because of the Soviet Union – and the Soviet Union will not try to stop them because of us and Red China. It has happened as I indicated over the past 33 years. The world power block of the U.S., Russia, and China have blocked each other and allowed the Arab nations to prosper in our midst. The U.S. dollar has diminished in value, and oil is the greed driving force of nation interests of many nations.

Syria has a lousy economy and cannot afford large expenditures to fund the terrorist groups it supports.

However, having chosen to ride in the terrorist boat, with Iran standing at the helm, Assad has been able to rule a terrorist dominated nation by generating oil money trade support from Iran’s oil driven economy. The financial and military support, which comes from Syria to the numerous terror groups of Islam, is passed via Syria from Iran to a large extent. It is out of Iran that the Islamic spirit of Jihad is ever growing, and out of which the 10 toes of the stature in Daniel 2 will be funded by oil revenues. Sanctions against Syria by the UN and the US are effective, but as long as the Iranian support is there, then the sanctions are not nearly as effective.

China, the sleeping giant, is now fully awake. Before World War Two, I remember that many things I found in ten cent stores were labeled “made in Japan.” Now, most things I see in stores are labeled “made in China.” China has turned into an industrial giant and our trade deficit with it is staggering.

China loves its new world economic position, but needs liquid natural gas (LNG) to manufacture its raw materials. Last year a deal was made with Iran to supply tons of LNG worth some 100 billion dollars.

And, it seems probable that a new deal will soon be completed for 200 billion dollars. Under the new agreement Iran will export 10 million tons of LNG each year for 25 years in return for the investment of Chinese monies in exploration and drilling.

Iran’s oil wealth causes sanctions against it to be insignificant.

Russia has plenty of its own oil and exports a lot of it.

But the collapse of the Soviet Union was primarily an economic collapse. Russia’s tie to Iran is based on the drastic need to boost its sagging economy. The Russian economy is tied to present and anticipated multi-billion dollar contracts to build Iranian nuclear related facilities. The Russians have also raised their economy on past and present sales of weapons systems and aircraft to Iran, and continued sales will lift it to a higher degree of respectability in the future.

Daniel 2:42-44 – And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and

part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

[43] And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall MINGLE themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. [44] And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

The word from which “MINGLE” is translated is “ARAB.” And the descendants of Abraham through Hagar and Keturah, and Lot’s two daughters, are most assuredly a “MINGLED” people. The 10 toes are ARAB nations.

The kingdom set up in verse 44 is the one which will be established by the Messiah when he returns following the horror of the tribulation period.

Luke 21:26-28 – Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. [27] And then shall

they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. [28] And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Russia and China will not join with the Arab nations in the initial Jihad against Israel, but will join the Assyrian antichrist some three and one-half years later, when he requests them to join him in a final destruction of Israel at Armageddon.

Revelation 16:16 – And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

Daniel 12:1 – And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

Ahmadinejad: Iran has final say in Middle East

“The Middle-East is the crossroad of relations in the world and whoever has the last word in the Middle-East will have the final say in the world as well,” Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said during a conference in Tehran on Saturday.

According to the semi-official Fars News Agency, Ahmadinejad called the region the “center of energy and global wealth,” and added, “Now, there are a number of developed countries which even own anti-satellite missiles, yet they are not effective and influential in the world because they do not have a role in the Middle-East.”

In a speech during a conference marking 30 years to the Islamic Revolution, the Iranian president implied that Iran is the top power in the region. “Now the question is who has the last say in the Middle East? Well, of course, the answer is clear to every one,” he said.

The Iranian president said the collapse of the global hegemonic system has entered its final stages because according to him it exacerbated the world’s problems and reached a deadlock on financial

and political issues.

“We are witnessing the end of the materialistic and authoritarian (global) regime,” he said. “The (world powers) cannot make any decisions and are incapable of analyzing the situation correctly.”

Fars reported that Ahmadinejad also praised Iran’s scientific and technological developments, such as the production of satellites and different types of missiles.

The remarks by the Iranian president came after he announced earlier this month that Iran is due to unveil several hi-tech home-made satellites in February, adding that the new satellites can orbit the Earth at higher altitudes.
