Jesus Came in His Heavenly Father’s Name

Bar Kochba Came in His Earthly Father’s Name

He came in his Father’s name, and they did not receive him. He gives the new birth from above to as many as will believe he is the Messiah sent by his Father. The same root word that is translated “become” in John 1:12 is translated “born again” in I Peter 1:23.

John 1:11-13 – He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

[12] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to BECOME the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: [13] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

I Peter 1:23 – Being BORN AGAIN, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

John 3:7,27,31-36 – Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. [27] John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. [31] He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. [32] And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. [33] He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. [34] For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

[35] The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. [36] He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

He came in his Father’s name, working miracles by the power of his name, and they sought to kill him for his claiming God was his Father. They were looking for a Messiah they thought God would send to deliver from their physical and secular problems, and were certainly not looking for one who claimed to be his Son, one sent to deliver them from their spiritual problems. Is that not basically what most of the religious world is looking for today?

John 5:15–24 – The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.

[16] And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day. [17] But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. [18] Therefore the Jews sought

the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

[19] Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. [20] For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. [21] For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. [22] For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: [23] That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth

not the Father which hath sent him. [24] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

The Jewish leaders who sought to kill him were the most religious people of that day. Jesus came to them working miracles to prove to them he was God’s Son. He came to them as their Messiah in his Father’s name. But they did not know him because they did not know his Father.

John 5:36-43 – But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me,

that the Father hath sent me.

[37] And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

[38] And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. [39] Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. [40] And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

[41] I receive not honour from men.

[42] But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.

[43] I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if ANOTHER shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

Verse 43 is often used to teach that the antichrist will be a Jew who comes in his own name and Israel will receive him as their Messiah. But I don’t believe what Jesus said had anything to do with Antichrist. If you must attach it to an individual, rather than generically to the many who came in their own name, and were received by segments of the Jewish population as Messiah, then attach it to a very specific one, Bar Kochba.

Jesus came in the name of his Father, and they did not receive him. About 100 years later, a Jew named Bar Kochba came in his earthly Father’s name and, at the insistence of the Sanhedrin leader Rabbi Akiba, the Sanhedrin proclaimed to be the Messiah from God, who would deliver the nation from the Romans. The Bar Kochba Rebellion was crushed in 135 A.D., and the Roman Emperor Hadrian finished the leveling of Jerusalem, put a Pagan statue on the Temple Mount, and gave Jerusalem a Roman name.

I really believe the “another” Jesus said would come in his own name was probably a reference to Bar Kochba, who was to come in his own name to be named Messiah by the Grandchildren of those who rejected Jesus as the Christ.

John 5:43 – I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

His Father gave Jesus his name before he was born, as well as at his birth.

Isaiah 7:14 – Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin sh

all conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Luke 1:29-35 – And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. [30] And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

[31] And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. [32] He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: [33] And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. [34] Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man

? [35] And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Philippians 2:8-11 – And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

[9] Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: [10] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; [11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Romans 10:9 – That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

And it is in the name his Father gave him that the gift of eternal salvation to the soul is once delivered.

Acts 4:12 – Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

According to an unconfirmed report in the French Le Canard Enchaine of Wednesday, Oct.

14, Israel is preparing to bomb Iranian nuclear sites and pro-Iranian targets across the Middle East after December 2009. The prestigious satirical weekly reports that the IDF has notified special forces reservists abroad to get ready

to return home in November for immediate drafting

to the military operation against Iranian nuclear facilities.

The weekly further reports Israel has ordered combat rations from a French firm for these reservists to stay on long-term missions far

from home.

French military sources said that Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi met secretly in France with US armed forces Chief of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen and French Chief of Staff Gen.

Jean-Louis Georgelin, to inform that Israel planned to attack Iran after December, when it became clear that the talks between the six powers and Tehran had failed to produce any benefit.

According to Le Canard Enchaine, Ashkenazi said Israel would not attack Iran by air but rather use ground forces in coordinated operations on several Middle East fronts.

DEBKAfile’s military sources add that if the information leaked to the newspaper from French joint staffs sources is correct – and not a red herring to disguise the impending attack’s real nature – the IDF may be expected to branch out from Iran’s nuclear facilities to target its allies too, such as Syrian air force and missile batteries, Hizballah bases in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Le Canard Enchaine is not alone in predicting an Israeli attack on Iran after December. A former Israeli deputy defense minister, Efraim Sneh, commented to US and British media several times in the past week that if the US fails to rally fellow powers’ support for toughened sanctions against Iran by Christmas, Israel will have to attack its nuclear installations.

It may be assumed that Sneh was not just guessing on his own initiative.

Another sign of the growing military tensions surrounding the Iranian nuclear program was a phone conversation late Wednesday night between President Barack Obama and French President Nicola Sarkozy. The two discussed Iran.

After Hillary Clinton failed to swing Russian leaders round to supporting sanctions, when she visited Moscow Tuesday, DEBKAfile’s Washington sources report that Obama has decided to work with the French president for efforts to stop Iran’s nuclear program.

The question, as to which faith is correct, is not going to be settled until the Lord comes to establish on this earth how he wants to be worshipped by man. Like it or not, we are headed for a wild and wooly Middle East War terminating with the final great battle of Armageddon.

All three faiths are waiting for a different Messiah to come and bring righteousness to this old planet, but there is only one true Messiah. Two of the faiths believe Jesus was not the Son of God, while one does. Two of the faiths believe Jesus did not die on the cross for men’s sins, while one does. One of the faiths does not believe Jesus was resurrected from the dead, one believes Jesus never died and was carried alive into Heaven, and one believes he was resurrected from the

dead and ascended into Heaven. Two of the faiths believe he was born miraculously of the Virgin Mary, but one does not. Furthermore, think of all the other faiths on the earth, as well as those who are atheists and agnostics. We live in a wide world of religious and unreligious madness.

The differences do not create peace, but war by the sword. In some family circles in the free world you may see all 3 major faiths manifested among the individuals of which it is composed, as well as atheists and agnostics, and a man’s foes are those of his own household.

US President Barack Obama deceitfully sought to knit together Christianity, Judaism and Islam in his speech in Cairo Thursday, grossly misrepresenting the latter religion with a smile on his face and sincerity in his voice.

The American leader, who has Islamic roots but professes to be Christian, was on a quest for “a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world.”

To establish “common ground” and find what he was looking for, Obama asserted “the truth:” That America and Islam…share common principles – principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.”

This statement was delivered, straight-faced, into the teeth of history, and in the capital of one of many Islamic states universally known to treat its people with an iron hand of injustice, and to demonstrate zero tolerance towards those of other faiths who seek to share their beliefs.

Referring repeatedly to “the Holy Koran” – a book whose author charges both Judaism and Christianity with having perverted “God’s” (Allah’s) “revelation” to man – Obama wowed his audience.

“As the Holy Koran tells us: ‘Be conscious of [Allah] and speak always the truth,'” he said, before proceeding to speak anything but the truth, (though Muslims would agree that it was true.)

“Throughout history, Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality.”

As documented exhaustively by scholars like Bat Y’Or, Islam forces Jews and Christians to pay a second-class citizen tax and live a second-class citizen existence or become Muslims. Other non-Muslims have been forced to convert or die. And any Muslim who converts to Christianity must recant or be executed.

In some Muslim states, like Israel’ s peace partner Jordan, ju

st selling a piece of land to a Jew is a capital offense.

Obama’s ignorance of Islam (which means submission to Allah) was further revealed by his statement “that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn’t.”

Islam is nothing if it is not what its founder and most venerated follower, Mohammed himself, practiced. This includes terrorism, sexual perversion and massive oppression of free peoples.

Partnership between Islam and America must really be based on this?

The president, who has adamantly denied being any type of Muslim despite his family background and his middle name – Hussein – said he considers it “part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.”

According to him, the population of America for which he is responsible includes “seven million Muslims” – the outside number according to demographers, who admit that it’s impossible to get a number because the US Census is forbidden by law from asking questions about religion.

At the most then, Muslims comprise 0.5 percent of the US population, but more likely 0.3 percent. Nonetheless, said Obama, there should be “no doubt [that] “Islam is a part of America.”

Speaking to complaints that “rules on charitable giving have made it harder for (American) Muslims to fulfill their religious obligation,” the president said he is “committed to working with American Muslims to ensure that they can fulfil zakat.”

Not referenced was the fact that some of these restrictions were designed to stop abuse by major Muslim “charities” that acted as fronts to funnel funds to groups like Hamas.

Obama listed the benefits already enjoyed by American Muslims, including “a mosque in every state of our union, and over 1,200 mosques within our borders.

“It is important for western countries to avoid impeding Muslim citizens from practicing religion as they see fit,” he added.

European nations are being rapidly Islamized precisely because they have opened their doors to Muslim immigrants and allowed them to set up Islamic enclaves in their towns.

“Indeed, faith should bring us together,” Obama argued. “That is why we are forging service projects in America that bring together Christians, Muslims, and Jews.

That is why we welcome efforts like Saudi Arabian King Abdullah’s Interfaith dialogue and Turkey’s leadership in the Alliance of Civilizations. ”

US President Barack Obama last week firmly aligned his administration with the Arab world, joining the rest of the international community in its position against the Jewish State of Israel.

Addressing some 140 world leaders gathered in New York for the 64th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Obama condemned as an illegal “occupation” Israel’s presence in its ancestral homeland.

And he roundly rejected the right of Jews to live and build communities in the hill country they believe was given to them by their God.

But while, according to the American leader, Israel’s people have no right to possess, dwell in and govern the land of their fathers, the United States must insist that Israel “respect the legitimate claims and rights of the Palestinians.”

Obama’s position indicates his acceptance and intention to champion the Arab narrative – which insists that the “Palestinians” have lived in the land “from time immemorial” and have the right to be formed as a nation in it.

He has thus rejected the Jewish narrative – which holds that this was the Land of Canaan given to Abraham, then Isaac, then Jacob and then Jacob’s descendants; that the nation took root here nearly 4000 years ago, growing and developing in this land and ruling as sovereigns over it; that following the Jews’ expulsion from the land they kept burning for two millennia the fire of their intended return; that they are not a foreign implant, not a colony, not in the land in order to assuage stricken western consciences following the Holocaust; that the Palestinian Arabs have no national history – neither in this land nor anywhere else, and that the creation of an Arab state in the historical Jewish homeland constitutes land theft and poses an existential threat to Israel.

Critics slammed Obama’s speech as the most anti-Israel message ever delivered by a president of the United States.

America’s former ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton, slammed Obama’s address as “the most radical anti-Israel speech I can recall any president making.”

The fact that the most powerful man on the planet, who has access to all the data, expertise and intelligence necessary to substantiate the Jewish position and to disprove the Arab one, nonetheless has chosen to throw his weight behind the latter at Israel’s expense, is certain to have distressed many in the US.

“It felt as if a dagger had struck my heart when he stated that “America does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements,” said Pastor Cecil Hall of the Anderson, TX, Full Gospel Church, adding that it “hurt, to think of the minds and hearts of the citizens of Israel as they heard those words from the country that has stood with them since the beginning.”

“Although the words of Mr. Obama came from within the borders of my beloved America,

they did not come from the heart of America. Please tell the wonderful people of Israel that the strong moral majority of Americans do not share Barak Obama’s sentiment nor agree with his policies concerning Israel, at any time that those polices should harm or cause Israel to lose ground.”

Turkey’s second slap: A war game with Syria

Tuesday, October 13, Syrian defense minister Gen. Ali Habib made the triumphant announcement: We held our first joint land military exercise (with Turkey) last spring. And today we have agreed to do a more comprehensive, a bigger one. He spoke at a ceremony declaring a free trade zone between the two countries and opening their borders for the passage of their citizens without visas. Present were the two foreign ministers, Ahmed Davutoglu and Walid Mualem.

The next day, Today’s Zaman provided Ankara’s explanation for its last-minute decision to cancel Israeli participation in the annual multiple air maneuver with NATO under the caption: Delay in delivery of Herons behind drill crisis, not politics. A senior Turkish military source was quoted as saying: “Israel has failed yet again to deliver the Israeli-made surveillance drones known as Herons to Turkey.

Turkey needs those vehicles in its fight against terror. What led to the recent crisis between Turkey and Israel was the delay in delivery.”

The source said Ankara ordered 10 drones for $180 million and although the manufacturers, Israel’s Elbit and the arms industry, rescheduled delivery dates, the Turkish military command does not believe they will keep to them.

However, according to DEBKAfile’s military sources, the Turkish generals are operating on two tracks: First, they are increasingly lining up with prime minister Tayyep Recip Erdogan’s blatantly anti-Israel line, while at the same time hoping not to lose Israel as a source of advanced weapons and intelligence technology.

The Turkish military grievance against Israel as reported in Today’s Zaman was meant to rebut an American rebuke.

US State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said Tuesday that “as to the question of whether there was a government that was invited to participate and then removed at the last minute, we think it’s inappropriate for any nation to be removed from an exercise like this at the last minute.”

Since last year, the Turkish military has been dodging between two conflicting tracks: Falling in line behind a government led by an Islamic party which is intent on developing close ties with Iran and Syria, while at the same time not giving up its longstanding profitable military interchanges with Israel.

Turkey staged its first joint military drill with Syria seven months ago on April 27, with the participation of border patrol units. Then too Turkish generals first tried to allay Israeli apprehensions by claiming it was a small, insignificant event. But then on May 4, chief of staff Gen. Ilker Basbug declared that the collaboration was “none of anybody’s business.”

Asked if Israel should be worried, the general snapped back: “Why would it concern Israel? We will not ask for permission from anybody else to conduct such exercises.”

Israeli officials withheld comment at the time hoping to preserve the traditional alliance with the Turkish army on a separate track from the Erdogan government’s pursuit of extremist connections. By precipitating a full-blown crisis over Israel’s participation in the multiple war game this October, Ankara has demonstrated that the two are no longer inseparable; the army is now completely under its heel.

Monday and Tuesday of this week, the Turkish prime minister poured venom on Israeli air strikes against Hamas its January Gaza offensive and the “murder of Palestinian children with phosphorus bombs” – as yet another motive for cancelling Israel’s participation in the air exercise.

Neither prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu, defense minister Ehud Barak or foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman answered him.

Instead, they had deputy foreign minister Danny Ayalon issue a mild statement that Israel-Turkish strategic relations were important and should be preserved.

Unfortunately, those relations have flown out of the window with Israel’ s removal from the drill.

DEBKAfile’s Ankara sources stress that foreign minister Davutoglu is steering the Turkish government and army toward a broad new horizon after persuading Erdogan that the way to restoring Turkey to the regional primacy enjoyed by the Ottoman empire depended on its assuming leadership and mediation roles in the Middle East and Muslim world. For two years, Ankara tried to broker a Syrian-Israel peace accord and sought to act as go-between in the disputes between Afghanistan and Pakistan and Syria and Iraq.

Erdogan is not deterred by every single Turkish mediation effort running aground, a fact which his hostility to Israel is designed to mask.

Wednesday, Oct. 14, Dayutoglu was due to leave for Bosnia for a bid to pacify the warning Muslim groups there.

FM summons ambassador in Turkey over anti-Israeli TV show

An inflammatory anti-Israeli television show in Turkey on Tuesday did what Ankara’s cancellation of Israeli participation in an international military exercise last week failed to do – lead the foreign ministry to call in Turkey’s envoy to register a protest.

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman issued a statement Wednesday night announcing that the Turkish envoy would be summonsed to protest the “inciting” television program that appeared Tuesday evening on prime time on the popular state-run station TRT1.

In the first episode of a series on

a Palestinian family living in the West Bank, IDF soldiers are variously seen killing a baby, a young girl, and lining up Palestinians to be shot before a firing squad.

Lieberman, currently holding meetings in Austria, issued a statement saying the airing of this show, on a government controlled station, represented the “gravest form of incitement.”

“This series, which has absolutely no connection to reality, and which presents IDF soldiers as murderers of innocent children, is not fit to be broadcast even in the most hostile countries, and certainly not in a country that has full diplomatic relations with Israel,” he said.

Since the start of the current diplomatic tension with Ankara, Israel has opted to take a very low profile, not wanting to exacerbate the situation with harsh public comments.

Tuesday’s airing of the television show – on top of the cancellation of Israel’s participation in the military exercise, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan harangue Monday accusing Israel of killing children with phosphorus bombs in Gaza, and the announcement of joint military manoeuvres with Syria – has now changed the situation.

To make matters even more complicated, Turkey – in the midst of all this tension – is not currently represented by an ambassador in Israel, as the previous ambassador left the country a few weeks ago, and his replacement has not yet arrived. Some diplomatic observers in Israel doubted this was a mere coincidence.

In a related development, Israel reacted skeptically Wednesday to Turkish press reports that the IAF was dropped from the annual Anatolian Eagle military exercise because of an Israeli delay in supplying unmanned aviation vehicles (UAVs), and not because of deep political differences.

The Turkish daily Zaman on Wednesday quoted a Turkish air force official as saying that Israel failed “yet again” to deliver the Heron surveillance drones.

“Turkey needs those vehicles in its fight against terror. What led to the recent crisis between Turkey and Israel was the delay in the delivery,” the paper quoted the official as saying.

According to the paper, Turkey agreed four years ago to buy 10 Heron UAVs for over $180 million from Israeli Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Elbit Systems, Ltd.

However, the paper said, “Israeli firms have missed the deadline for delivery.”

According to the paper, basing itself on the Turkish air force official, “As Israeli authorities failed to satisfactorily convince Turkey that they would be able to achieve the planned date for delivery of the Herons, the Air Forces Command informed the General Staff of the situation. Chief of General Staff Gen. İlker Başbuğ shared his concerns with Erdoğan during a security meeting in late September. The prime minister assured Başbuğ that the government would back any military sanction on Israel. The General Staff asked Israeli authorities one last time about the delivery of the Herons. Israeli authorities refused to give an exact date and said they planned to deliver the vehicles by the end of 2009, whereupon the General Staff decided to cancel the international part of the exercises.”

Israeli officials, however, dismissed this version of events, with one Defense Ministry official saying that Israel had met all its contractual commitments to Turkey. The official said it was the IAF’s actions in Gaza, and not the Heron, that led Turkey to bump Israel from the military exercise.

One diplomatic official said that it was hard to believe a dispute like this over the Heron would lead to the cancelling of a major military exercise, and the hectoring of Israel by Erdogan.

Rather, he said, if there was indeed a problem in the delivery of the UAVs, then a more likely response would have been to keep Israel out of the bidding for other Turkish military contracts.

Moreover, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu indicated in an interview with CNN on Sunday night that Turkey’s decision to bar Israel from the military exercise did, indeed, have to do with Gaza.

“We hope that the situation in Gaza will be improved, that the situation will be back to the diplomatic track. And that will create a new atmosphere in Turkish-Israeli relations as well. But in the existing situation, of course, we are criticizing this approach, [the] Israeli approach,” he had said.

Another Turkish daily, Hurriyet, quoted a Turkish official as saying that Turkey was “not warm to the idea of opening its air corridor to Israeli jets for training.”

But, the paper reported, the cancellation of the recent exercise did not mean an end to all joint military exercises and that Ankara would approve other military exercises involving Israel in November.

Also Wednesday evening, Erdogan reportedly said that Turkey’s decision to bar Israeli from the NATO drill was based on “the people’s” concern over Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip earlier this year.

Citing an Al Arabiya television interview, Reuters quoted Erdogan as saying, “There are diplomatic sensitivities in the region which we had to take into consideration… and we took into consideration the conscience of our people … because our people did not want Israel’s participation.”
