During the past 61 years every major conflict, which has suddenly erupted in the Middle East and its environs, has caused countless numbers of men and women to once again suddenly become very religious, and to flock back to local churches in droves. To at least some extent, this has been happening in the past, and now, because of a basic misunderstanding of the coming of Christ. Those who rush back into a better relationship with Christ, at the first sign of a major conflict in the Middle East zone, may well be expecting that the conflict will continue, and eventually end in the final Battle of Armageddon. They associate the return of Christ only with what is called the Second Advent. However, there is a coming of Christ for the saved, which occurs before the Lord’s Second Advent.
The following Scriptures describe the Second Advent of Christ, which occurs when He comes to end the final Battle of Armageddon.
Revelation 1:7 – Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
Zechariah 12:10 – And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
Luke 21:25-27 – And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; [26] Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. [27] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
If I believed that the Second Advent and the catching out of the saved were the same event, then I also would think that, each time a conflict broke out in the Middle East area, it might continue until it ended with the Battle of Armageddon. However, we find that, after the blowing of the seventh trump in the Book of Revelation, there is a massive heavenly judgment for rewards being ministered to all types of believers from all ages, and we also discover that, at this time of pre-advent judgment, we are still four chapters, and six vials, away from Armageddon.
Revelation 11:15,18 – And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. [18] And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
Revelation 16:16 – And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
II Corinthians 5:10 – For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
So, if God’s prophets, saints, and those that fear his name, are in heaven being judged by God for rewards, then they had to be “caught out” by Christ before the Battle of Armageddon, which occurs when the last of seven vials is poured out.
Revelation 16:16-18 – And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. [17] And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. [18] And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
Therefore, the following Scriptures refer, not to the Second Advent, but to a “catching out” that occurred earlier, and which is described in the following Scriptures:
I Corinthians 15:51,52 – Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, [52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
I Thessalonians 4:16-18 – For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. [18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
So why have I gone to all this trouble to establish there are two comings of Christ between now and the beginning of His Millennial Reign
? Because there MUST be, BEFORE He comes, a period of what seems, to the world and Israel, to be a genuine lull in fighting which give Israel hope for peace. Before Christ came for all of the saved two things had to happen:
1. Israel had to return to become a real, physically alive, nation (Ezekiel 37). That has happened! I covered that in 5 Blogs last week.
2. T here would have to be, what seemed to be, a genuine lull in the fighting with the nations around Israel, which gave
her a false hope of peace. This should occur soon!
I Thessalonians 5:3,4 – For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. [4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
There has been no peace between Israel and her Islamic neighbors, within and without, for some 61 years, only terror and bitter hatred. The terrorist acts will suddenly cease, and the sheer shock from it will, within months, lead Israel to hope it is real, and will continue. After a brief period of time, both Israel and the U.S. will feel a sense of deliverance from terror, and a feeling of safety will settle over them. Those who always get religious, when they fear the return of Christ is near, will again abandon trying to restore fellowship with God, and the western world powers will all settle back for a long winter’s nap. It is at this time that the words of Jesus, concerning the time he comes for his children, will be fulfilled.
Believe it or not, the Persian and Arab horns and toes of Daniel are finally wising up, and will eventually appear to be turned by diplomatic dialog toward peaceful intent, but it will all be a ruse on their part to give Israel hope it might be genuine. When Israel appears to have a hope it might eventually have peace, then the forces of Islam will strike to begin a massive conventional war with Israel, as the rest of the world sets and watches, including the United States.
Matthew 24:44 – Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
After Messiah’s coming the prophecies of Isaiah, Ezekiel and Zechariah will be all be completely fulfilled concerning the Feast of Tabernacles (Succot).
Isaiah 2:2-4 – And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. [3] And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. [4] And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Ezekiel 37:24-28 – And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them. [25] And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children’s children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever. [26] Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. [27] My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. [28] And the heathen shall know that I the Lord do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.
Zechariah 14:16-19 – And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
[17] And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. [18] And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the Lord will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. [19] This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Revelation 20:7-10 – And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, [8] And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. [9] And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. [10] And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Revelation 21:1-3 – And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. [2] And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. [3] And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Thousands of Christian pilgrims arrive to fulfill ancient Succot prophesy
October 4, 2009
JOSIAH DANIEL RYAN , THE JERUSALEM POST
The voices of thousands of Christian pilgrims worshiping “Yehoshua Christ” echoed for miles over the hills of the Judean Desert late Friday night – the first night of Succot.
Just as the silence of Shabbat was settling over Jerusalem, the pilgrims – representing dozens of nations – came down to the shores of the Dead Sea in a long caravan of buses, wearing Judaic emblems like tzitzit, kippahs, and Stars of David on their clothing and jewelry.
One Christian woman from Brazil, who said she was visiting Israel for the first time, was dressed from head to toe in an outfit tailored from Israeli flags. Sharp blasts from shofars, brought along by enthusiastic worshipers, often punctuated the evening’s activities.
Around 4,000 gathered on the moonlit beach of Ein Gedi to worship “the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob” and to fulfill an ancient Hebrew prophesy penned more than 2,500 years ago by the prophet Zecharia, which they say predicts that people from every nation will someday join hands with Jews to celebrate Succot.
“The nations… shall come up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles” the Web site of
the International Christian Embassy of Jerusalem, which hosted the celebration, quotes from the Bible.
“Say tonight, I am a part of the fulfillment of the prophesy,” a worship leader urged the cheering crowd, who sang Hebrew classics like Shalom Aleichem and Hine Ma Tov. “You will bring blessings upon your nations.”
Many of the pilgrims also said they understood their presence in the Holy Land for Succot was part of the grand epic of history described in the Bible by the Jewish prophets.
“We are here to be a part of history,” said Tove Tveita, a Norwegian Christian participant. “We have the same history as
the Jews. We believe in the same God, and we believe in a Jewish Messiah.
“The Prophet Zecharia said all of the nations would gather for Succot, and now we are here to enjoy him in his land.
What’s happening tonight was written.”
The Succot feast held in Ein Gedi was the inaugural event for a week of celebrations being hosted by the ICEJ, with nearly 7,000 Christians in attendance.
The Ministry of Tourism said this “Feast of the Tabernacle” is the largest annual tourist event that occurs in Israel and that the boost to the local economy is expected to be between $16 and $18 million.
“Christian tourism to Israel, in all its streams, represents one of our most important targets,” said Tourism Minister Stash Misezhnikov in a press statement regarding the celebration.
Officials from the ICEJ said that part of their purpose in Israel is to help support the country financially.
“We want to come and help economically support Israel,” said ICEJ spokesman David Parsons. “We realized that it’s important. This festival brings a huge injection of money into the local economy and it happens even in years of economic downtown.”
But not everyone is pleased with the annual influx of evangelical Christians during Succot, and some Jewish leaders say they are suspicious of the ICEJ’s intentions.
Rabbi Tovia Singer, the director of Outreach Judaism – an organization that works to combat missionary activities aimed at Jews – said that while he appreciates the boost to the local economy, most of the Christians who are in town for the festival want nothing more than to win conversions.
“They have not come to pray for Jews but to prey on Jews,” said Singer. “On one hand it’s a very good thing to have them here, but the problem is that there is a price
to pay because these evangelical Christians also come from denom inations deeply
involved in Jewish evangelism.
Parsons has stressed, however, that the Christians are not here to win over converts and that his organization firmly discourages pilgrims from disseminating Christian literature while touring the country.
