Gog and Magog in the Koran Prophecies

Since we, as a nation, have become so politically and economically pushed onto

the world stage in an entanglement with the culture of Islam, what they think of us, and how they see our prophetic future in the Koran, is worth considering.

What the Old Testament Bible teaches, concerning our prophetic future with Gog and Magog, is vividly outlined above in our Prophecy Update Archives in Numbers 27 and 28. The Koran shows a different picture in the following direct quote:

I am persuaded that some three and one-half years before the residents of the land of Magog (Russia) rush down every hill, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal in Syria, at some point in time between 2010 and 2015, will attack with a coalition of 10 Islamic nations, and drive Israel into the Negev. Three and one-half years after the initial attack, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal (Antichrist), will call for the army of the land of Magog (Russia) to come down and help him to finally destroy God’s nation of Israel at Armageddon.

Iraq launches project to renovate Ezekiel’s shrine

The Iraqi government has launched a project to renovate the interior of the prophet Ezekiel’s shrine in the small town of Kifl, south of Baghdad, and the country’s Ministry for Tourism and Antiquities says it hopes to eventually repair and renovate other Jewish sites across the country.

“The ministry is concerned with all Iraqi heritage, whether it is Christian or Jewish or from any other religion,” ministry spokesman Abdelzahra al-Talaqani told AFP. “The present plans do not include the synagogues in Baghdad, Basra, Mosul, Fallujah and other places because of lack of funding, but I think they will be included in future plans.”

Iraqi Jewry was once one of the largest and most prominent Jewish communities in the Middle East.

But after Israel’s establishment, more than 120,000 Iraqi Jews moved to Israel in the 1950s in a clandestine operation dubbed Operation Ezra and Nehemiah.

Outside the shrine of the prophet – who followed Jews into the B abyloni

an exile in the sixth century BC – is a 14th-century brick minaret, while the inside is shaped like a synagogue, with old wooden arks that used to contain Torah scrolls and the remains of a Mehitza – a separation for men and women.

Until the mid-20th century, up to 5,000 Jews used to visit the tomb during Passover.

Muslims believe the tomb to be that of Dhul-Kifl, considered by some to be a prophet of Islam and by others to just be a righteous man mentioned in the Koran.

It had been protected by Saddam Hussein as a holy site.

The tombs of the prophets Daniel, Ezra, Nahum and Jonah are also purported to be located in Iraq.

Tectonic Chaos – Chapter 12 – A Poisonous Visitor

Revelation 8:10,11 – And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning

as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; [11] And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

In Revelation 8:7-9, John has viewed the land and sea events described previously in Chapters 2, 4, 5, and 6. Now his view is shifted upw ard where he observes

a great star falling from heaven. The word used for star is “aster.” It can mean any one of three different things. It can be a navigational star in the heavens such as Polaris, the North Star – or a “shooting” star, better known as a meteor – or a comet.

Sometimes meteors and comets are lumped together as “asteroids” by various types of commentators, but there is a considerable difference between a meteor and a comet.

Since all the fixed stars in our universe (except for the sun) are millions to billions of light years from our planet and, as such, eliminate themselves from consideration as candidates for John’s Wormwood, this leaves us with only two candidates – a meteor or a comet. In order to select between these two it is necessary to carefully examine John’s description

of the characteristics of Wormwood.

Using John’s description, the following statements concerning Wormwood cannot be easily refuted: (1) It burned like a lamp, and the Hebrew lamp had a fuel supply

that kept it burning. (2) It fell upon the third part of the earth’ s water

surface, and yet John did not so much as mention a quiver in the earth’s crust as it struck. He mentions earthquakes time after time throughout the Book of Revelation, but does not mention one occurring as Wormwood strikes the earth. (3) Whatever Wormwood is, it dissolves in water, because the water becomes Wormwood. (4) When it dissolves in man’s water supply it gives the water a bitter taste, and it causes many who drink the water to die.

When a “shooting star” is outside the earth’s atmosphere it is called a meteoroid. When it enters the earth’s atmosphere it is called a meteor. And, if it is large enough to eventually strike the earth’s surface, before burning into ashes, the solid portion that remains is identified as a meteorite.

For simplicity I will refer to all three phases as “shooting stars” to avoid confusion.

Shooting stars are made of nickel, iron, and/or stone. Now, let us reason together as to why Wormwood cannot be a shooting star by comparing it with John’s Revelation description.

(1) A shooting star does not burn like a Hebrew lamp. It does not have a continuous fuel supply. Being a solid it burns out very quickly in a matter of seconds to minutes.
(2) If a shooting star large enough to strike one-third of the earth was to make such a contact, the impact of such a solid object would jar the earth to its very foundations, but John reports no such shaking in his vision.
(3) Nickel, iron, and stone do not dissolve in water, but the water is said to become Wormwood.
(4) Nickel, iron, and stone do not give water a bitter taste, nor or they poisonous. During the course of man’s recorded history, thousands of shooting stars have fallen into local water sources, and yet there has never been a validated report of poisoning recorded.

One might argue at this point that God could make a shooting star with a continuous fuel supply, which melted instead of burned, dissolved in water, made water taste bitter, and was poisonous to mankind. He doesn’t have to make one, because he made many heavenly bodies long ago that do all of these things – we call them comets. The “aster” of Revelation 8:10 is one of God’s trillions of comets. Why am I so confident that Wormwood is a comet? My reasons are as follows:

(1) A comet has a continuous fuel supply. As it approaches the sun its fuel supply begins to be released by sublimation, and it then moves through the heavens like a great, ever burning lamp.
(2) If a comet entered the earth’s atmosphere it would not burn to ashes, for a comet is composed largely of ice. It would not burn, but would melt by sublimation, and eventually fall as liquid, and a super thick cloud, upon one-third of man’s water supply. As the ice melted from a solid into a super thick glob of vapor and liquid, the trillions of pieces of nickel, iron, and stone, embedded in the ice, would be released. The super thick cloud of liquid and vapor would decelerate in his descent toward the earth, but the released solids, being heavier, would be subject to greater gravitation pull, and would proceed to the earth in advance of the cloud, burning in the atmosphere as shooting stars. To an observer on the earth it would appear that all the stars of heaven were falling to earth in advance of the cloud that would eventually settle on one-third of man’s water supply. “But in those days after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, [25] And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.” (Mark 13:24,25)
(3) As the comet passed through the earth’s atmosphere during its melting process, it would release methyl cyanide, hydrogen cyanide, and a wide range of cyanogenic poisons, all of which are 100 percent water soluble and have a bitter taste.
(4) Methyl cyanide, hydrogen cyanide, and cyanogenic gases are extremely toxic, and many would die of the poisoning effects.

Comets originate from a region between our solar system and the nearest stars. There are trillions of comets in this great comet cloud. There appears to be a virtually endless supply of them, for each year new comets are discovered and others go out of existence, victims of the shattering effects of the sun. When earth passes through the old path of a comet, the small solid particles, which melted off the outer veneer of its icy surface, are intercepted, and meteor showers are produced in our atmosphere. These showers occasionally exhibit as many as a thousand shooting stars per minute falling through the earth’s atmosphere.

A comet is one of God’s strangest creations. There is nothing quite like it. A comet nucleus is made of solid ice, but it is actually ice made of gases that solidified in the unbelievable coldness of outer space. As the ice ball nucleus approaches the sun, its outer surface begins to pass directly from solid ice to a gas by sublimation, and we earthlings begin to observe its long, gaseous, lamp like tail. A Hebrew lamp, because they did not refine the olive oil, put out a gray trail of smoke when it burned. Figure 18 illustrates how the comet’s tail always points away from the sun because of the sun’s solar winds.

The black specks on the surface of the comet in figure 17 are small pieces of nickel, iron, and stone that become embedded in the outer layer of ice by contact as the comet makes its long elliptical orbit around the sun and our solar system. These pieces of nickel, iron, and stone are released into its tail along the comet’s path when the sun’s rays begin to melt the comet, as illustrated in figure 18. Sometimes the gaseous tail of a comet has been observed to extend out to 150 million miles from its nucleus, and over this great distance a trail of small, solid pieces of space debris is laid down in space. Every year, particularly during the late fall and early winter, the earth passes through several comet tails of the past, and dramatic shooting star displays are visible in our atmosphere.

The solid chunk of ice nucleus varies in size, some being less than 20 miles across, while other icy centers are several thousand miles in diameter.

When the nucleus comes within the warming rays of the sun it begins to melt, and this produces the coma and tail shown in figure 19. The icy nucleus is composed of hydrogen, helium, carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen gases in a solid icy state. As the ultraviolet rays of the sun strike this combination of elemental gases, several compounds are produced. Among these gases are methyl cyanide, hydrogen cyanide, and a whole range of cyanogenic poisons. When Russian, Italian, and Japanese satellites went in, around, and over the coma and nucleus of Halley’s Comet in 1986, scientists were shocked by the very heavy concentrations of cyanogenic gases that were discovered. The same heavy concentrations have also been observed in all probes of comets since 1986.

I do not know which of the trillions of comets God will select to be Wormwood, but I am certain that Wormwood is a comet. When Wormwood enters the earth’s atmosphere it will not burn, it will melt. And, as it goes directly from a solid to a gas, it will release into the earth’s atmospheric the aforementioned deadly gases of figure 19. Figure 20 pictures another creation of God described in Ecclesiastes 1:7 – “All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.”

This creation of God, known as the Hydrological Cycle, is the cycle into which the 100 percent water soluble, poisonous gases of figure 21 will be released. God has so designed the earth’s atmosphere that the sun’s rays cause exposed water surfaces to be turned into a rising gas called water vapor. As the water vapor is set free from its liquid state by evaporation, it rises and cools at the rate of 1 degree centigrade for every

100 meters it is lifted.

as structure by condensation, which we call a cloud. Further lifting causes the water vapor to condense on microscopic floating particles in the air and, if they grow heavy enough, they fall to the earth as precipitation.

God’s comet gases will readily mix with God’s water vapor in God’s hydrological system to fall as God’s deadly precipitation on one-third of the water supply God made for man. The things of God’s creation will be used to destroy most of what represents God’s most complex creation – mankind. Once again, I make my continuously repetitious point: God will destroy most of mankind with His creation, not with the creations of mankind.

Comets may have jump-started appearance of living organisms, TAU researchers say

Comets contain the key elements needed for the emergence of life on Earth and may have indeed provided our planet with them, according to Tel Aviv University researchers.

It was the chemical composition of comets, he believes, that allowed them to kickstart life. He has published his theory widely in scientific journals, including Icarus.

Using a unique machine he devised at TAU, he and colleagues simulated comet ice and found that comets contain ingredients necessary for providing the basic nutrients of life.

Specifically, Bar-Nun looked at the “noble” gases argon, krypton and xenon because they don’t interact with any other elements and are not destroyed by Earth’s oxygen. These elements have maintained stable proportions in the Earth’s atmosphere throughout the lifetime of the planet, he explains.

“If we look at these elements in the atmosphere of the Earth and in meteorites, we see that neither is identical to the ratio in the sun’s composition. Moreover, the ratios in the atmosphere are vastly different than the ratios in meteorites, which make up the bulk of the Earth.

“So we need another source of noble gases which, when added to these meteorites or asteroid influx, could change the ratio. And this came from comets.”

Formed in the early days of the solar system far away from our sun, comets originated as water vapor condensed directly into ice, thus creating tiny grains. These grains came together to form the comets, says Bar-Nun.

During the comets’ formation, the porous ice trapped gases and organic chemicals from outer space, creating a certain ratio of argon to krypton to xenon. This ratio, together with that of gases coming from rocky bodies, gives us the ratio that we observe in the atmosphere of the Earth, he adds.

Thus, the arrival on Earth of comets and asteroids led to the necessary ratio of materials for organic life “that eventually were dissolved in the ocean.

I believe after the false peace truce is in effect at some point in time between 2010 and 2015 Hizbullah, in a pre-planned conspiracy with Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Iran, and Iraq, will perform an act that provokes Israel, the King of the south, to charge north into southern Lebanon. At that time, the Islamic conspiracy forces will be deliberately waiting to launch a vicious counter attack against the Israeli push into Lebanon, and will begin a massive southward push on both sides of the Galilean, Samarian, and Judean Mountains, which will finally stop at Beersheba, the gateway to the Negev Wilderness. The attack will be led by the Antichrist, the King of the North, who I believe is most likely to arise in Syria.

The King of the North – The Antichrist

Part 1

Daniel 11:41 – He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

The initial attack into the glorious land of Israel will be from the north, from Syria and Lebanon, and the first of many countries that will fall before the antichrist will be Israel. There will be a lightning surprise Jihad blitzkrieg launched by Lebanon, Turkey, Syria, Iran, and Iraq, with logistical support from Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, and Sudan. These are the ten toes of Daniel’s great statue, the ten horns of his fourth beast, and the ten horns on both of John’s beasts. At the time of the attack the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza will attack the IDF internally and outwardly.

Daniel 2:42 – And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

Many of the countries of Daniel’s day were named for their first descendants as they related to Abraham. Edom was associated with the descendants of his grandson Esau, with Ammon and Moab being associated with the two sons of his nephew Lot. In Daniel’s day these three countries were to the immediate east, north

east, and southeast of Israel. If you will check all maps from B.C. 500 to 700, you will discover that all three of these countries would be entirely engulfed by modern day Jordan.

So why would Jordan escape his wrath? Its geographical position would have no military, political, or financial value to him, and the occupants of Jordan will certainly not attack him, so he will bypass Jordan on his way to conquer the Suez Canal, which will have all three of these values abundantly. Jordan will not be a part of the initial Jihad, but after Israel is driven into the Negev it will be 100% in the antichrist’s camp. Because Egypt and Jordan made peace with Israel they are out of favor, and because Saudi Arabia plays footsies with the United States, it also falls into the non-favored category. The Arab world simply doesn’t trust Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia enough to include them in the secret planning that will go into the Jihad, and they will be as surprised as Israel when it is launched. Jordan and Saudi Arabia will support the antichrist after he conquers Egypt, and will to do so for the remainder of the tribulation period.

Iraq’s Shiite radical leader Moqtada al-Sadr – not seen in public for nearly two years – held face-to-face talks with Turkey’s top two leaders Friday, the Anatolia news agency reported.

The anti-US cleric met with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan first for talks on “security in Iraq and the promotion of links between the parties,” according to a Turkish diplomatic source.

He was then entertained by President Abdullah Gul at the president’s residence, the agency added, with the Turkish foreign ministry’s special Iraq envoy, Murat Ozcelik, also in attendance, but no statements were made.

Turkey’s leaders regularly host the leaders of diverse political groupings from its close neighbor state.

“He is going from Iran to Turkey to meet a delegation from (the Iraqi shrine city of) Najaf and to hold discussions with the Turkish side about the situation in Iraq and its future,” senior Sadr aide Haidar al-Turfi earlier told AFP.

Turfi is the first senior official from Sadr’s movement to directly confirm that Sadr has been in Iran.

His followers have always said he was in hiding in Iraq, while the US military has long said he was living in Iran.

On Thursday, Anatolia cited unnamed diplomatic sources as saying that Sadr’s visit was aimed at “holding consultations on the political process in Iraq.”

Sadr, said to be aged in his 30s, gained wide popularity among Shiites in Iraq in the months after the US-led invasion of 2003 and in 2004 his Mahdi Army militia battled US troops in two bloody revolts.

He disappeared after a public appearance at an Iraqi mosque in June 2007 and has since issued statements through senior aides and spokesmen.

Israeli defense minister Ehud Barak commented Monday, April 27, that Turkey’s decision to hold three days of military maneuvers with Syria is “disturbing.”

And that is not all. The exercise will be accompanied Monday or Tuesday by the sign ing of a letter of

intent between Turkish defense minister Vecdi Gonul and his Syrian counterpart Hassan Turkmani for cooperation in the defense industry.

sources report that the signing and the exercise are major landmarks on the shrinking road of military and trading ties between Turkey and Israel. In 2009, Ankara pared exchanges down to $2.2 billion in 2009 and expanded its trade with Syria to $2.6 billion.

Israel is now in a hurry to slash its military exchanges with Turkey to prevent the leakage of military secrets to an avowed Arab enemy.

Ankara is furthermore defaulting on payments for military purchases and other contracts. It has piled up a debt of several million dollars to Israel’s military and air industries, in payment for a $5 billion deal to build a Mark 3 Chariot plant in Turkey.

Production of 1,000 Israeli tanks, to have been Turkey’s main theater tank, should have begun in early 2009.

Construction is now halted.

Israel will also discontinue sales of its world-class unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and sharply reduce its military ties with Turkey which go back to the 1960s.

DEBKAfile’s military sources report that Ankara deliberately played up the scale of the joint exercise, in which Turkish and Syrian border units rather than substantial military forces are involved. Its disclosure was a strong statement of the Erdogan government’s policy of trading its extensive strategic relations with Israel for ties with Syria.

Our sources stress that this trend began to emerge three years ago, although the Sharon and Olmert governments did their best to keep it out of sight. DEBKAfile’s Ankara sources report that the indirect Israel-Syrian peace talks brokered by Turkey last year were used by prime minister Ehud Olmert to conceal this setback in Israel’s foreign relations.

Furthermore, Israel’s defense and foreign ministries as well as top IDF ranks held on to the conviction that the installment of a pro-Islamic government in Ankara would not detract from the long-held ties of cooperation and trust between Turkey and Israel.

Turkey’s army chief Gen. Ilker Basburg brushed off the Israeli defense minister Ehud Barak’s comment that the joint Turkish-Syrian military exercise was “disturbing.”

Barak referred to the first exercise Turkey, Israel’s longstanding military ally and NATO member, had ever staged with an Arab nation, Israel’s avowed foe Syria. Gen. Basbug said it was only a border exercise, small-scale and “none of anybody’s business.”

“Why would it concern Israel

? We will not ask for permission from anybody else [to conduct such exercises], he said.”

Former US House Speaker Newt Gingrich on Sunday blasted the Obama administration for setting itself on a collision course with Israel and endangering the Jewish state, ahead of his address to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

“They are systematically setting up the most decisive confrontation that we’ve ever seen,” the leading Republican politician told The Jerusalem Post, referring to news reports about the administration’s approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

“There’s almost an eagerness to take on the Israeli government to make a point with the Arab world,” he said, speaking to the Post ahead of his speech before the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s annual conference.

He called US President Barack Obama’s program of engagement on Iran a “fantasy,” and his Middle East policies “very dangerous for Israel.” He summed up Obama’s approach as “the clearest adoption of weakness since Jimmy Carter.”

Instead, he maintained, the US should be sending the message to Israel that “we are for the survival of Israel” and that “we are not going to tolerate Iran getting nuclear weapons.”

He added that creating prosperity among Palestinians was important, and that the US should be helping their leaders grow their society and crowd out Hamas.

The Obama administration has also been trying to support the Fatah party as it shuns Hamas, and is looking to restart the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians in part to accomplish that end. The US government has also been focusing on engaging Iran to try

to prevent them from obtaining nuclear weapons, holding out the possibility of more economic sanctions should the diplomatic process fail.

Gingrich is touted as a possible Republican candidate in the next presidential campaign and has re-established himself as a top leader in the

Republican party as the GOP struggles to redefine its identity and appeal to voters after electoral losses this fall.

Major Democratic figures, including US Vice President Joe Biden, will be addressing the conference in the coming days.

Biden: Israel must back two states

US Vice President Joseph Biden said Tuesday that Israel must accept a two-state solution with the Palestinians, urging Jerusalem to stop settlement growth.

“Israel has to work toward a two-state solution,” Biden told the American Israel Public Affairs Committee annual conference. “You’re not going to like my saying this, but not build more settlements, dismantle existing outposts and allow the Palestinians freedom of movement.”

He noted that President Barack Obama is “strongly and personally committed to achieving what all have basically said is needed – a two-state solution,” something he called “absolutely necessary to ensure Israel’s survival as a Jewish, democratic state.”

But Israel’s new government has so far declined to back a Palestinian state, with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu referring to formulas for Palestinian autonomy instead. Netanyahu is planning to meet with Obama and Biden on May 18, and the issue is expected to be a focus of their conversations.

Biden’s comments went farther than previous administration statements in demonstrating its demands to Israel, particularly as stated before America’s largest pro-Israel lobby.

He also referred to the ameliorative effect that a peace deal with the Palestinians could have with Iran.

Some in Israel have been worried about the administration explicitly linking the issues, and while Biden didn’t condition progress with Iran on Israeli movement with the Palestinians, he argued that making progress toward peace would help resolve the problem with Iran.

Of the many reasons to work toward Israeli-Palestinian peace, he said, “One of the most pressing reasons may be to deprive Iran of the ability to extend its destabilizing influence” by inflaming public opinion and helping rejectionist groups like Hamas and Hizbullah.

Biden reiterated that the US government was “intensely focused on avoiding the grave danger… of a nuclear armed Iran” and asserted that the administration’s new engagement strategy offered the best chance of success.

He justified the outreach as strengthening international support if engagement failed, adding, “Ladies and gentlemen, don’t kid yourselves – international support matters, as we’ve learned over the last eight years.”

He said the “Islamic republic” – a term of respect that observers have interpreted as a message that America is not seeking regime change – faced a choice.

One path would bring it into the community of nations. The other was “one of international pressure, isolation, and one which nothing is taken off the table.”

“If our efforts to address this problem through engagement are not successful, we have greater international support to consider other options,” he said to applause. “We must sometimes act alone, but it’s always stronger when we act in unison with a secure Jewish State of Israel living side by side in peace and security with a viable and independent Palestinian state. He [Obama] and I both believe that,” Biden said.

“That is also the solution that Israel and the Palestinians committed to in the road map and reaffirmed in Annapolis,” he said. “It can be achieved. It must be achieved.”

“The continuation of Israeli-Palestinian and Israeli-Arab… conflicts strengthen Iran’s strategic position. They give Iran a playing field upon which to extend its influence, sponsor extremist elements, inflame public opinion – all which are counterintuitive. It’s counterintuitive if you think about it, that Iran’s Shia influence in a Sunni Arab world would be able to be extended.

There are many reasons to pursue an end to these conflicts,” he said.

“It gives Israelis peace and security they deserve; to help the Palestinians fulfill their aspirations of an independent and better life; to ease tension in the regions – in this region,” Biden said.

Peres Tells Obama: Israel Ready for Peace with PA

President Shimon Peres told U.S. President Barack Obama Tuesday night (4 p.m. EDT) that Israel stands four-square behind American efforts to negotiate a peace agreement with the Palestinian Authority and with Syria. He also said that the Jewish state backs American efforts to use diplomacy to end the Iranian threat.

He added, “I can’t say there won’t be difficulties, but it would be a serious mistake not to take advantage of the opportunity” to reach peace agreements.

President Peres officially represents the country and not the government per se, but he has clearly stated he backs the American “two-state solution,” which Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has refused to endorse but has not rejected.

President Barack Obama kept a low profile for his hour-long meeting with President Peres shortly after House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi met with the first Israeli leader to visit Washington.

She called President Peres a “hero” who is the “personification” of the relationship between

the United States and Israel.

President Peres returned compliments, calling her a “great friend” whose “word is a commitment” and not just an expression of politeness. She did not bring up the subject of Palestinian Authority demands, an issue that Jordan’s King Abdullah raised with her two weeks ago.

The meeting at the White House was held without cameras as the Obama administration tries to keep the glare off the visit following a one-two punch at the nearby American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) meeting, where Vice President Joe Biden and Senator John Kerry demanded that Israel stop all building in Judea and Samaria.

President Obama gave his guest a silver mezuzah case adorned with turquoise gems and in return received a peace statue of a woman holding 20 doves. An engraving on the statue read, “To President Barack Obama – a great leader who carries a great hope for the world.”

I have waited a long time to understand HOW the false peace trap, prophesied by Paul in I Thessalonians 5:3,4, would actually come to fruition. There has never been any question in my mind it would, but exactly HOW has been very frustrating for me since 1967.

I’ve speculated on different scenarios for some 42 years as to HOW the false peace would come in. I believe we are now watching a series of events in Israel, and among the international community, influenced by an Obama diplomatic dialog whirlwind, which will eventually bring in the false peace followed by a vicious lightening surprise Islamic Jihad attack against Israel. The “sudden destruction” of the attack will mark the beginning of the last three and one half years of the great tribulation period.

The tribulation period will have a single final battle, which will be the battle of Armageddon.

Syria’s President Assad is urging Obama to reach out to Hizbullah and Hamas, and to negotiate a peace treaty with Israel by giving back ALL of the Golan Heights, at the same time HAMAS is offering Israel a 10 Year Cease Fire Truce. Rest assured the United States will initially reject Assad’s request for talks with Hizbullah and Hamas, but I assure that on down the line Obama’s administration will begin series of indirect talks with both of these terrorist organizations. I am glad I chose 2010 to 2015 as the most likely time frame in which Islam would launch the initial attack on Israel, which would culminate with the final battle some 3 and ½ years later. It does appear the Obama diplomatic dialog, behind the scenes by his talking heads, will be successful in eventually creating a falsetto peace which ends in “sudden destruction” coming on Israel when the false “Peace and safety” abruptly ends.

Assad urges US to reach out to Hamas and Hizbullah

PARIS: Syrian President Bashar Assad urged the United States on Sunday to reach out to Hamas and Hizbullah as part of the search for Middle East peace, in an interview with French television. Speaking to France 3, Assad welcomed what he said was a new willingness in Washington to listen to Syria’s views since President Barack Obama took office, and said Damascus was ready to help broker contacts with the groups.

The United States regards both Lebanon’s Hizbullah and the Palestinian group Hamas as terrorist movements, and does not recognize them; a stance which Assad said was counterproductive if Washington wanted to seek regional peace.

“I think the problem was with the previous administration,” Assad said, criticizing former US president George W.

Bush and welcoming Obama’s decision to send envoys to open a tentative dialogue with Syria.

“I think if you want to solve the problem you can’t go about saying: ‘This is good and this is bad, this is evil and this is democratic, this is human rights and this is not politics,'” he said.

“Politics is when you deal with reality. When you deal with influential parties to influence the position in a positive or a negative way,” he said, calling on the United States to talk to both Iran and the militant groups.

“Hamas has influence and you can not ignore them. You can’t achieve peace while Hamas is outside this peace or against the peace,” he said, adding that the same was true of Hizbullah.

Assad called for “direct or indirect” talks between Washington and Hamas, and added: “When they want to have help with these parties, any contact with Syria, maybe direct, we are ready to help.”

Last week, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sent two diplomats to Syria, but Washington remains cautious in its dealings with a government that has close ties to Iran and to hardline armed groups. – AFP

Mashaal: Hamas wants 10 year cease-fire

Hamas has stopped launching rockets at Israel and is looking to establish a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, the Islamist group’s political leader Khaled Mashaal told The New York Times in an interview published Monday.

He went on to say that Hamas supported “a state on the 1967 borders, based on a long-term truce. This includes east Jerusalem, the dismantling of settlements and the right of return of the Palestinian refugees,” specifying that by a “long-term” agreement he meant 10 years.

Mashaal, who was re-elected as the leader of the movement’s political bureau for the fourth time earlier this week, called the firing of rockets from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel “a method, not a goal,” and said that the cessation of such aggression was “part of an evaluation from the movement which serves the Palestinians’ interest.”

The Times also quoted the Damascus-based leader as saying that Hamas sought to agree to a truce with Israel, as well as an agreement to swap captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit with multiple Palestinian prisoners.

He did not, however, stray far from the group’s previous statements, reiterating, “There is only one enemy in the region, and that is Israel,” and opining that pushing Hamas to recognize Israel was merely “a pretext by the United States and Israel to escape dealing with the real issue and to throw the ball into the Arab and Palestinian court.”

Addressing US President Barack Obama’s administration, he vowed that Hamas would be “part of the solution, period.” He praised Obama for using “different and positive” language in his recent overtures to the region, but said that US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was using words which “reflect the old administration policies.”

On the Iranian regime’s support for Hamas, Mashaal told the Times, “Iran’s support to us is not conditioned.

No one controls or affects our policies.”

Damascus: Encouraged by President Barack Obama’s overtures toward Washington’s adversaries, Syria is pushing to restart peace talks with Israel, diplomats and political analysts say.

Damascus has intensified its quest to relaunch the Turkish-mediated talks, diplomats in the Syrian capital said, despite the formation last month of a right-leaning Israeli government that has shown little interest in a US-backed two state solution to the conflict with the Palestinians.

“The Syrians are sensing that [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu does not want a peace deal with the Palestinians and that he could restart the Syrian track as a way of deflecting pressure,” one senior Western diplomat said.

“They have dealt with Netanyahu before. More importantly they expect the Americans to try to salvage their policies in the Middle East by backing the Syrian track,” he added.

Obama sent two senior officials to Damascus last month to talk to Syria, in a break from a policy of isolation under his predecessor.

George W. Bush showed no enthusiasm for the indirect talks between Syria and Israel, which were formally suspended in December following the three-week Israeli offensive on Gaza.

One of the Obama administration officials who visited Damascus said Washington wants to see “forward momentum” on Syrian-Israeli talks, but the United States refrained from committing to any involvement.

Syria regards direct US support to negotiations as a prerequisite for a deal and the best guarantee that Israel would adhere to any peace arrangements.

Syria and Israel held almost 10 years of direct US- supervised negotiations that centered on the Golan Heights.

Israeli occupied the Golan in the 1967 Middle East War, displacing 100,000 Syrian residents in the water-rich territory. Around 40,000 people now live in the Golan, roughly divided between Israeli colonists and remaining Syrian population.

The talks collapsed in 2000 when Syria’s late President Hafez Al Assad, father of the current president, Bashar, turned down an Israeli offer to withdraw from the Golan but keep a narrow strip on the northeastern shore of the Lake of Galilee, which Assad regarded as Syrian territory.

Assad defined the occupied Golan as the territory Syria held on June 4, 1967, before the war broke out, including the northeastern shore of the lake.
