Land of Magog Will Sell Heavy Arms to a Subdued Horn!

Daniel 7:24,25 – And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall SUBDUE three kings. [25] And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Ezekiel 38:1,2 – And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, [2] Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,

God instructs Ezekiel to set his face against a PERSON (GOG) and also a PLACE (THE LAND OF MAGOG). But Gog is NOT the chief prince of MAGOG – He is the chief prince of MESHECH and TUBAL.

Assyria possessed the land where the tribes of Meshech and Tubal lived when Isaiah and Micah wrote their prophecies in 700 A.D. Antichrist will come out of Syria and Micah refers to him as “the Assyrian.” He will come down some three and one years

before the Second Advent of Christ, and his attacking Israel is one of the reasons Christ returns to defeat the Assyrian at Armageddon.

Micah 5:5 – And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

Now, in verse 5, we find that “this man” will himself “be the peace” because He personally brings it in by Himself when he returns to be “great unto the ends of the earth” for 1000 years.

“This man” who brings “the peace” of a thousand years is, of course, Jesus Christ. He is the primary contextual subject from verses 1 through 5.

What happens to motivate His return to bring in the millennial reign is the movement of the Assyrian into the land of Israel. It is the final defeat and destruction of “the Assyrian” that will mark Christ’s Second Advent, and the beginning of His millennial reign. This is outlined in Archive Prophecy Updates 62 to 68,

When Micah wrote his prophecies

the Assyrians had already driven into the northern Kingdom of Israel, and all that remained of Israel proper was its southern Kingdom of Judah. So what were the borders of the land of Assyria when Micah wrote the fifth chapter of his book? The borders of the Assyrian territory stretched northward from roughly where Ramallah is located in the West Bank to the present day southern border of Turkey, and eastward to the Mediterranean Sea to establish its western lim

its, then westward across the Euphrates River to the Tigris River north of modern Baghdad in Iraq.

Technically, I suppose one might be able to say this future “Assyrian” might come out of southern Turkey, northern Iraq, or Lebanon, but since modern day Syria occupies some 85% of the area covered by the Assyrian empire at the time of Micah’s writings, I am persuaded the Assyrian antichrist will come out of Syria.

The possible argument that Micah 5:5 was fulfilled during the old Assyrian invasion of Micah’s day, is thwarted by the context pattern of the four verses before it all still being unfulfilled at the time they were written, and then being linked contextually to verse 5 by “this man,” and “the peace.” Add itionally, this argument is smashed by the verse that follows

it.

Micah 5:6 – And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

From the time of Micah’s writings to the present day, Israel has never “wasted the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof.” I have exposited specifically on both these locations in Archive Prophecy Update Number 67.

The “Assyrian” of Micah 5:5 is not a European, an American, a Russian, an Eskimo, an Aborigine, an Ethiopian, or a platypus. He is an Assyrian, who becomes chief prince of the land where the descendants of Meshech and Tubal were dwelling when Ezekiel wrote his prophecies. I will elaborate on this in future updates, Lord willing. The expression involving “seven shepherds and eight principal men” is most assuredly an oft used Hebrew idiom.

It was the Hebrew manner of expressing “more than enough.” Seven is the Hebrew word for “complete,” implying “enough,” and when “eight” is added to it, the expression means “more than enough.” When the Assyrian comes into Israel, and treads within its borders north of Beersheba for 1260 days, then Jesus will return to restore peace for 1000 years on this planet. Christ’s Second Advent is accompanied by some 5/6 of the Assyrian’s armies being destroyed by the brightness of His coming. His destruction of the Assyrian and his false prophet will make whatever force Israel is able to muster up in the Negev for the battle of Armageddon “more than enough.”

When the Assyrian sets on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, as the willful King of the North preparing to launch his final attack on Israel at the battle of Armageddon, he will be beyond all help by men and Satan.

I Thessalonians 5:3,4 – For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. [4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

Ezekiel 38:14-16 – Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord God; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it? [15] And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: [16] And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

God will send tectonically released fire down on the Land of Magog and

the rest of the world when the Assyrian Antichrist attempts to destroy Israel.

Ezekiel 39:6-8 – And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

Russia to Sell Heavy Arms to Lebanon

(IsraelNN.com) Following a meeting last week between leading Lebanese legislator Sa’ad Hariri and Russian leaders, Hariri was quoted by Russian media this weekend as saying Russia will sell heavy weaponry to Lebanon. Previously, Hariri said that he hoped Russia would help Lebanon claim Mt. Dov from Israel. Russia is expecting Lebanon to recognize the independence of the breakaway Georgian districts of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

Hariri, the son of the assassinated popular former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, represents the Western-backed majority in the Lebanese parliament. Russia will “help the Lebanese army,” the Vremia Novosti newspaper quoted Hariri as saying, “which needs heavy weapons” such as tanks and artillery. American military aid, Hariri told Russian media, only consists of light arms.

Lebanese Defense Minister Elias Murr is to visit Moscow in coming weeks, when the details of the arms deal will be finalized.

The Russian state arms export firm, Rosoboronexport, has been boycotted by the United States government for arms deals with Iran, North Korea and Syria.

In early October, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert met with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and urged him not to approve the sale of weapons to Iran and Syria. It was imperative, he told the Russian leader, to “prevent weapons from Syria from reaching extremist elements in Lebanon, such as Hizbullah.”

Mt. Dov and Abkhazia-S. Ossetia – Quid Pro Quo?

Last week, during an official visit to Moscow by Hariri and other legislators, Lebanese media strongly emphasized Hariri’s expression of his appreciation for Russia’s role in working towards an Israeli withdrawal from the Mt. Dov area (called “Shab’a Farms” in Lebanon) along the Israeli border with Lebanon. A report published by the Beirut-based English-language Daily Star was entitled, “Hariri Looks to Russia to Help Liberate Shab’a Farms”, although the article itself did not present any direct quote on the matter from Lebanese or Russian officials.

After his meeting with Hariri, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia was against foreign interference in Lebanese domestic affairs. It was not clear if he

was referring to actions by Syria, Israel or other foreign interventions.

The Iran-controlled Lebanese terrorist organization Hizbullah, in the meantime, said recently that an Israeli withdrawal from Mt. Dov would only be a start.

The group claims seven Arab villages in northern Israel are actually Lebanese. In any event, both Iran and Hizbullah have repeatedly made it clear that they do not believe Israel should exist at all, regardless of border demarcations. A Hizbullah spokesman said last week that the group would not give up it arms until Lebanon had another force capable of confronting Israel.

Touching on Lebanese policy towards matters in the Slavic states, Hariri was quoted as saying that Lebanon may well recognize the independence of the breakaway Georgian districts of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. The Russian Vremya Novostei newspaper quoted Hariri as saying, “We will fine tune contacts with South Ossetia and Abkhazia now. For example, delegations of [Lebanese] businessmen will be leaving for there soon.” Russia has backed the secession of the regions from Georgia, including launching a war in their defense in August of this year.

There will not be a Nuclear Middle East War!

The mad rush for both Syria and Iran to obtain nuclear warheads to act as a deterrent to cause Israel not to launch a pre-emptive strike at them, continues on a day to day basis in the Middle East. In sp ite

of being in a definite minority, I do not believe either Syria or Iran is developing the nuclear weapons to launch against Israel in a pre-emptive strike. They are acutely aware Israel has an abundant number of nuclear warheads on many Jericho missiles in the Negev, many more than enough to end Syria and Iran as nations on this planet. Syria, Iran, and all their allies do not want a nuclear war. They all want a conventional war, in which they have a fantastic numerical advantage. Their development of an arsenal of nuclear warheads is strictly for deterrence of an Israeli strike against them, while they attack Israel in a conventional war.

Almost one-quarter of the population in Israel is non-Jewish, and four-fifths of the non-Jewish are of the Islamic faith, so it is unlikely Iran and Syria have a desire to inflame members of their own religion or the huge international community, by nuking the non-Jewish group.

The popul ations of the world need to be concerned

about a destruction coming on the earth by a tectonic chaos produced by God on an ungodly world.

It will be far worse than a nuclear holocaust.

IAEA finds man-made uranium traces at Syrian site bombed by Israel

A senior Vienna-based diplomat reported Monday, Nov.

10, that the latest findings are significant enough for the nuclear watchdog to place Syria right after North Korea and Iran on its agenda for further investigation.

Last June, UN inspectors collected the soil samples which yielded the uranium traces from al Kibar in northern Syria, where a nuclear reactor under construction was razed by Israel in Sept. 2007.

DEBKAfile’s sources report that even if the uranium traces found at bombed site were slight, they are damning because they were clearly man-made – not natural ore – and must have been brought in by an outside source, possibly North Korean visitors.

These outsiders would have had only one reason to be there: to assist in the construction of a nuclear facility for Syria and inspect the work in progress.

The IAEA’s conclusion refutes claims by Damascus, including president Bashar Assad, that the installation at Al Kibar was an agricultural research station. Syria has denied allegations that it was building a reactor with North Korean expertise to produce plutonium for an atom bomb.

Soon after the Israeli bombing, DEBKAfile disclosed that the reactor was destined to manufacture nuclear fuel to help Iran accelerate its enrichment program and plutonium for radioactive bombs.

On Oct. 4, we revealed that, a year after the Syrian reactor was destroyed, Syria had gone back to its military nuclear projects in conjunction with North Korea and Iran. This time they were scattered across the country at three or four sites.

Syria has ignored recent requests from the IAEA to inspect three military sites suspected of housing nuclear facilities.

Although Damascus is alleged to be manufacturing weapons of mass destruction for use against Israel, transitional prime minister Ehud Olmert persists in pushing for peace talks with the Syrian regime and far-reaching territorial concessions by Israel.

The following quotes from a Jerusalem Post Article articulate quite well the situation the world faces now and in its future. The article was well written and the two quotes caught my attention as being an excellent assessment of what mankind is facing on a worldwide basis, especially in America.

The article was titled “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Bye Bye Buy Buy.” It was a blog written by Pinchas Landau, a Jerusalem-based analyst, columnist and blogger, who covers global and Israeli economic, financial, and geo-political developments. Quote One: “Who’s got money, who’s got access to money, and the relationship between the haves and the have-nots – that is what defined the boom and will surely be the defining characteristic of the bust years now getting underway.” Quote Two: “There is already much less money everywhere and this state of affairs is going to generate much more tension and strife between those who have, those who used to have, those who want to have more and those who want to have some. Remove the fancy terminology of politics, economics and strategy and you find that what’s going on and what’s at stake usually become much simpler to grasp – but, by the same token, starker and uglier” End of Quotes.

The last time I visited two countries just coming out from under control of a communist government in the last century, the first thing I thought of was my childhood when America was in the great depression. The people in these two countries had been under a governmental system of “divide the mammon equally,” and it had partially worked, in that it had produced a society in which everyone had practically nothing. All the people had jobs but individuals had no incentive to produce very much, performing their jobs as a drudgery to get practically nothing. I am afraid

America is headed in that direction, toward a “starker and uglier” society!

I guess I deserve the title of being one of the “last days gloom and doom boys,” but I must, for it is what God has said would come, and I believe it will be “even as he has told me” in his word, however I am of “good cheer” about all of it, because I know that at the end of the chaos about to come on the earth, there will be overwhelming joy at Jesus’ coming at his Second Advent. I suppose I have the same cheer about all this as the Lord told Paul to have when facing trouble.

Acts 27:25 – Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

II Timothy 3:1-3 – This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. [2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, [3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

Luke 21:25-28 – And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; [26] Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

[27] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. [28] And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

I can only advise you in this coming time of trouble to get in his boat of safety that he watches over and delivers its occupants from destruction.

Mark 6:50-52 – For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid. [51] And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.

[52] FOR THEY CONSIDERED NOT THE MIRACLE of the Loaves: FOR THEIR HEART WAS HARDENED.

If Jesus can transform five loaves and two fish into enough to feed a huge multitude, then he can most assuredly deliver his present day followers from HIS OWN VIALS OF WRATH before his coming.

Mark 6:33-48 – And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent

them, and came together unto him.

[34] And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things. Know someone baptized for a dead Man?

A Great Tempest in a Teapot over Scripture,

Grossly Misinterpreted by the Mormon Church,

Make Jews protest over a man they say is Dead!

Mormon interpretation of this verse is absolutely taken out of context in amazing disregard for the question Paul is addressing in the verses that precede it. Please consider the verses which precede it, before you give your answer to it!

I Corinthians 15:29 – Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all

? why are they then baptized for the dead?

I Corinthians 15:12-29 – Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? [13] But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: [14] And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and y

our faith is also vain. [15] Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. [16] For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: [17] And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. [18] Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. [19] If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. Paul’s inspired discourse in context leads him to ask the two questions of verse 29. His answer is this: Why were all these people baptized after they received Christ, if they did not believe he was alive

? Do you think they were baptized for a dead man

? No, they were baptized for a living Christ while they were still alive! To believe a dead human being can be saved by a living one’s baptism for them after they die, is taking verse 29 totally out of context, and is a great example of ungodly heresy.

The whole point Paul is making is simply that when a living person goes into the water to picture the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, he or she believes Christ was resurrected from the dead and is very much alive. If Christ did not rise from the de ad, then wh

at good does it do the believer to be baptized for a dead Christ who cannot resurrect the one being baptized at the first resurrection.

Holocaust survivors said Monday they are through trying to negotiate with the Mormon church over posthumous baptisms of Jews killed in Nazi concentration camps, saying the church has repeatedly violated a 13-year-old agreement barring the practice.

Leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints say they are making changes to their massive genealogical database to make it more difficult for names of Holocaust victims to be entered for posthumous baptism by proxy, a rite that has been a common Mormon practice for more than a century.

But Ernest Michel, honorary chairman of the American Gathering of Holocaust Survivors, said that is not enough. At a news conference in New York City on Monday, he said the church also must “implement a mechanism to undo what you have done.”

“Baptism of a Jewish Holocaust victim and then merely removing that name from the database is just not acceptable,” said Michel, whose parents died at Auschwitz. He spoke on the 70th anniversary of Kristallnacht, the Nazi-incited riots against Jews.

“We ask you to respect us and our Judaism just as we respect your religion,” Michel said in a statement released ahead of the news conference. “We ask you to leave our six million Jews, all victims of the Holocaust, alone, they suffered enough.”

Michel said talks with Mormon leaders, held as recently as last week, are over.

He said his group will not sue, and that “the only thing left, therefore, is to turn to the court of public opinion.”

In 1995, the church agreed not to perform baptisms or other rites for Holocaust victims, except in the very rare instances when they have living descendants who are Mormon.

Church spokesman Mike Otterson said Michel’s decision to publicly denounce the church seems like a unilateral termination of the discussion.

“Those steps by Mr. Michel on behalf of the American Gathering were both unnecessary and unfortunate and belie the long and valued mutual respect that we have had in past years,” Otterson said in an e-mail.

Posthumous baptism by proxy allows faithful Mormons to have their ancestors baptized into the 178-year-old church, which they believe reunites families in the afterlife.

Using genealogy records, the church also baptizes people who have died from all over the world and from different religions. Mormons stand in as proxies for the person being baptized and immerse themselves in a baptismal pool.

Only the Jews have an agreement with the church limiting who can be baptized, though the agreement covers only Holocaust victims, not all Jewish people. Jews are particularly offended by baptisms of Holocaust victims because they were murdered specifically because of their religion.

Michel suggested that posthumous baptisms of Holocaust victims play into the hands of Holocaust deniers.

“They tell me, that my parents’ Jewishness has not been altered but … 100 years from now, how will they be able to guarantee that my mother and father of blessed memory who lived as Jews and were slaughtered by Hitler for no other reason than they were Jews, will someday not be identified as Mormon victims of the Holocaust?” Michel said Monday.

Under the agreement with the Holocaust group, Mormons could enter the names of only those Holocaust victims to whom they were directly related. The church also agreed to remove the names of Holocaust victims already entered into its massive genealogical database.

Otterson said the church has kept its part of the agreement by removing more than 200,000 names from the genealogical index.

But since 2005, ongoing monitoring of the database by an independent Salt Lake City-based researcher shows both resubmissions and new entries of names of Dutch, Greek, Polish and Italian Jews.

The researcher Helen Radkey, who has done contract work for the Holocaust group, said her research suggests that lists of Holocaust victims obtained from camp and government records are being dumped into the database.

She said she has seen and recorded a sampling of several thousand entries that indicate Mormon religious rites, including baptisms, had been conducted for these Holocaust victims, some as recently as July.

“I’ve seen a steady procession of Jewish Holocaust names, especially names with camps linked to them, going to the International Genealogical Index,” said Radkey, who acknowledges that she has limited access to the records. “There’s no possible way of knowing exactly how many names, but it’s substantial.”

Church officials say a new version of the database – called New Family Search – will fix the problems. In the works for six years, the new database will discourage the submission of large lists of unrelated individuals. It will also separate names intended for temple rites from those submitted purely for genealogical purposes, the church states in a letter sent to Michel on Nov.

“The names of any Holocaust victims we can identify in the database are to be flagged with a special designation – not available for temple ordinances,” the letter states.

The church also proposes jump-starting a monitoring committee formed in 2005 to review database entries.

The committee has met just once since 2005.

In May, the Vatican ordered Catholic dioceses worldwide to withhold member registries from Mormons so that Catholics could not be baptized.

I have claimed for years that the major block against the final war of the Age of the Gentiles in the Middle East has been the presence of U.S. troops in Iraq – That presence is about to be withdrawn – Supposedly by the end of 2011 – But I believe it likely to be even sooner than the draft agreement indicates. Once they are withdrawn, the U.S. will never again commit combat troops to fight in the Middle East, nor will any other country until the final great battle of Armageddon. The cold war is now returning to the world, such that a standoff will continue in the air and on the high seas, and the nations will lay back, allowing the massive forces of Islam and little Israel slug it out in a conventional war. The friends of Islam, which are many, will help the Arabs with financial and logistical support, and the small number of Israel’s friends will do the same for her, but the nations of Europe, Eurasia, Asia, and Africa will not directly attack Israel until the Assyrian Antichrist calls them to come down and help him destroy her at the final battle of Armageddon,

The initial attack will drive Israel into the Negev Wilderness, where she will remain blocked in on three sides after a truce is declared for some three and one-half tears, at the end of which time the final huge battle of Armageddon will break the truce. The Lord Jesus Christ will return at his Second Advent to end the final battle of the Age of the Gentiles.

One or Two Wars before Armageddon?

As a young man, living in the pre-Hal Linsey books age, I was taught that only one war occurred during the “latter days” before Armageddon. It was a war that began in the Middle East when the antichrist attacked the nation of Israel, and ended some 3 and ½ years later with the final battle of this age – Armageddon. But I now find myself surrounded by a large array of preachers and teachers who are convinced that the war led by Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and found in Ezekiel 38 and 39, occurs before the war that commences some 3 and ½ years before the battle of Armageddon, and that the antichrist is not Gog, but comes out of the war led by Gog, and then leads 10 European Union nations against Israel. They teach that when Gog and his armies come against Israel they will be slaughtered, and that Israel will be absolutely successful in thoroughly routing them. Perhaps I overlooked it, but in all my years of looking in many old musty religious archives, I never found a manuscript published before 1812 that taught there were two back-to-back wars just before the battle of Armageddon.

It would seem to me that the arrival of Napoleon in Europe set the stage for a shift from bringing the antichrist out of the southern flank of the old Roman Empire to a new scheme of bringing him out of the northern flank. This shift necessitated the invention of two wars.

I do not believe the shift should ever have been made. I believe the attack of the antichrist is found in the following Scriptures, and I believe the attack occurs some three and one half years before the end of this age at Armageddon.

I believe that the following names all apply to the antichrist: He is Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal in Ezekiel 38 and 39, the eleventh horn in Daniel 7, the king of the north in Daniel 11:40, the Assyrian in Micah 5, the seventh wounded head on the beast in Revelation 13, and the eighth head on the beast in Revelation 17.

Ezekiel 38:10,11 – Thus saith the Lord God; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought: [11] And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,

Daniel 7:24,25 – And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. [25] And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Daniel 11:41 – He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

Micah 5:5 – And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

Zechariah 13:8 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.

Revelation 13:5,6 – And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

[6] And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

Revelation 17:12.13 – And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. [13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

I believe all of these names apply to the antichrist: He is Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal in Ezekiel 38 and 39, the eleventh horn in Daniel 7, the king of the north in Daniel 11:40, the Assyrian in Micah 5, the seventh wounded head on the beast in Revelation 13, and the eighth head on the beast in Revelation 17.

The 3 and ½ year war in all the accounts, follows a certain pattern from start to finish.

(1) The initial attack occurs, and is successful.

(2) After Jerusalem falls, the Lord fights Islam by protecting Israel.

(3) The Lord protects Israel for 3 and ½ years.

(4) God protects Israel in the Negev during that period.

(5) The Lord leaves most of the enemy bodies on the hills of Israel at the final battle of Armageddon.

Ezekiel 38:8,9 (1) – After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. [9] Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.

Zechariah 13:8 (1) – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.

Zechariah 14:2,3 (2) – For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. [3] T hen shall t

[4] Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. Ezekiel 38:1,2 – And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, [2] Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,

Gog is a person, the antichrist. Magog is a land, the land of Magog. God tells Ezekiel to set his face against a person, Gog, and against a land, Magog, which is Russia. Gog is NOT the chief prince of Magog (Russia). He is the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. At the time of Ezekiel’s writings the descendants of Magog were settled in Russia, while the descendants of Meshech and Tubal were settled in Syria. The antichrist will come out of Syria to launch the initial attack. Some 3 and ½ years later Magog (Russia) will come down to join him at Armageddon.

To make a long story short – I believe there is only one war, the war that begins when Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, attacks Israel, and ends three and one-half years later when Magog (Russia), along with all of Europe, Eurasia, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, comes down to join him against Israel at the final battle of Armageddon – Only to find the bodies of their great armies end up as buzzard bait on the hills of Israel.

BUT AM I PREPARED TO BE WRONG? CERTAINLY! WHAT WILL I DO IF THERE ARE TWO WARS? WELL, I WILL JUST SAY I WAS WRONG, AND WAIT FOR ANTICHRIST TO COME OUT OF THE FIRST WAR, THAT IS, IF I AM STILL HERE.

BUT WHAT IF THERE IS ONLY ONE WAR? WELL, ONLY ONE THIRD OF ISRAEL WILL SURVIVE, JERUSALEM WILL FALL, ISRAEL WILL BE DRIVEN INTO THE NEGEV, AND YOU WILL BE WAITING FOR

AN ANTICHRIST THAT IS ALREADY ON THE SCENE, THAT IS, IF YOU ARE STILL HERE.

My advice is to be prepared for either eventuality, even one that may be quite different from how many of these verses are commonly interpreted. I think that falls under the category of “watching.”

New Iraq pact rules out US troops past 2011

BAGHDAD — The proposed U.S.-Iraqi security pact removes language authorizing Iraq to ask U.S. soldiers to stay beyond 2011 and bans cross-border attacks from Iraqi soil, according to a copy of the draft obtained Monday by The Associated Press.

The latest draft, sent Thursday to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, also strengthens language regarding Iraqi sovereignty but does not appear to make significant changes in the limited legal authority granted to Iraq to prosecute U.S. soldiers for major crimes committed off post and off duty.

But it was unclear whether the changes would be enough to silence critics — especially among the majority Shiite community — who have complained the deal favors U.S. interests over Iraq’s.

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki plans to show the draft to President Jalal Talabani and the two vice presidents. Later, he will submit it to the Cabinet and if the ministers agree, he will forward it to parliament for a final decision.

That process could take more than a month.

In an added complication, the Sunni vice president, Tariq al-Hashemi, has called for a national referendum — which would be all but impossible to arrange before the Dec. 31 expiration of the U.N. mandate that allows U.S. troops to operate legally.

Without an agreement or a new U.N. mandate, U.S. military operations would have to stop as of Jan.

The new draft states that U.S. troops must be out of Iraqi cities by June 30 and leave the country entirely by Dec. 31, 2011. The previous draft authorized the Iraqi government to ask U.S. troops to stay beyond that for training and other assistance.

But the current draft states simply that “United States forces shall withdraw from all Iraqi territory no later than Dec. 31, 2011.”

The draft also recognizes the right of each country to remove U.S. troops before that deadline.

President-elect Barack Obama pledged during the campaign to bring all combat troops home within 16 months of his inauguration Jan. 20. An Iraqi official said Obama had been briefed on the current draft and raised no objection.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the information is sensitive.

The draft agreement — 24 pages in the English version — also states that “Iraqi land, sea and air shall not be used as a launching or transit point for attacks against other countries.”

Iraq insisted on the addition after last month’s U.S. raid into neighboring Syria and in a bid to ease fears in Iran, which strongly opposes the deal.

As a further assurance, the deal is now officially an agreement “on the withdrawal of United States forces from Iraq” and the “organization of their activities during their temporary presence.”

The deal had been envisioned as establishing a long-term security relationship when it was first discussed between al-Maliki and President Bush last year.
