As I began to indicate in late Spring, the Islamic world finally woke up

to the fact they could never defeat Israel unless they were extremely well prepared, and were also able to lull Israel into a false sense of peace and security while they carried out their conspiracy plan. So far it is going great for the Islamic nations involved in the conspiracy. Syria wants to keep the indirect talks going on as long as possible. Iran’s leaders are playing their roles by assuring Hamas, Hizbullah, and Syria of Iran’s full support. At some point in time, between 2010 and 2015, I feel very confident the world will watch the conspiracy unveiled, when Israel is suddenly attacked in a conventional war by the largest, best equipped, and fully prepared Arab force she has ever faced. This time, after many great victories in 1948, 1956, 1967, and 1973, Israel will lose. Jerusalem will fall, and Israel will be driven into the Negev Wilderness, which is her war contingency evacuation area. The war will be halted as were previous Israeli- Arab conflicts – By a truce – And Israel will remain as a nation in the Negev Wilderness for 1260 days (a prophetic year is 360 days in length). At the end of that time the final battle of Armageddon will occur, then Israel will cry in the Negev to her Messiah to save her, and the Second Advent of Jesus the Messiah will occur.

‘Israel not interested in real peace’

Israel is uninterested in attaining real peace, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem told London-based newspaper Asharq al-Awasat on Wednesday morning. The Syrian official was also quoted by the paper as saying that it was impossible to control the border between his country and Lebanon.

Asked how he felt about President Shimon Peres’s latest remarks calling on Syrian President Bashar Assad to follow in the path of former Egyptian president Anwar Sadat and enter direct negotiations with Israel, Moallem replied that it was a sign that Jerusalem was uninterested in attaining a real peace. He likened the Israeli president’s comments to “putting the cart before the horse.”

Moallem told the paper that it would be impossible “to control the common border” between Syria and Lebanon, saying that such a move would require its demarcation as well as a security agreement between the two countries. Despite admitting to the continued smuggling of arms “to and from Lebanon,” Moallem held that Hizbullah was not in need of these weapons.

Last week, the Syrian foreign minister met with US Secretary of State Condeleezza Rice in what may be a sign that the recent hardline American position towards the Middle Eastern country is softening.

Moallem also met with Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David Welch on Monday, to discuss various issues concerning the region, the Wall Street Journal reported.

During that interview, Moallem went into detail about Syria’s position on the indirect negotiations with Israel, and on how such talks would affect the close relationship Damascus has with Teheran.

“We had four rounds of talks, promising talks, in Istanbul. We agreed to have the fifth round… But because of the situation in Israel, the Israeli side asked the Turks to postpone it,” he said. “We are waiting to see what the position of Ms. Livni’s government will be.”

“So are they ready to resume or not?” the Syrian foreign minister asked. “The most important thing is whether or not to continue, but to have the will, the political will, to achieve peace based on the Madrid terms of reference and land-for-peace.”

“Peace between Israel and Syria is part of a comprehensive peace involving the Lebanese, the Palestinians, and Israel also,” Moallem said. “If we reach this point, it will have strategic implications for the entire Middle East. Whether we accept it or not, Iran is an important player in the region.

And Iran always supported Syria’s right to liberate the Golan Heights and the Palestinian people’s rights.”

“If we achieve this through peaceful means, I don’t see the Iranians opposed,” he concluded.

According to the report, Rice and Moallem held brief talks on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

Moallem then had a more detailed meeting with Welch a few days later.

“[Rice] expressed her satisfaction with the situation moving forward in Lebanon, also about the indirect talks between Syria and Israel,” the Syrian foreign minister told the paper in an interview on Monday. “She said they support these talks and they are ready to assist.

“I consider this a good progress in the American position,” he added. “We agreed to continue this dialogue.”

However, a State Department official downplayed the meetings, telling the paper that they did not represent a shift in American policy, but rather were an opportunity for the United States to share its grievances with Syria over its human rights violations and its ties with Hizbullah and Iran, as well to voice concern over other issues.

“The international community still awaits a credible demonstration of Syria’s willingness to renounce their sponsorship of terrorism,” the Wall Street Journal quoted the official as saying.

Khamenei: Iran will stand by Hamas, ‘holy warrior’ Haniyeh

Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that Iran will stand beside the Hamas government in Gaza and that Israel is weakening and on the path to eventual destruction, state television reported.

Khamenei, who has the final say on all state matters, called Hamas’s prime minister in Gaza, Ismail Haniyeh, a “mujahed”, or holy warrior, saying “the Iranian nation will never let you be alone.”

Khamenei said Israel “has weakened day by day … Today, officials of the Zionist regime acknowledge that they are moving towards weakness, destruction and defeat,” according to state television.

“Definitely, the world of Islam will see that day and hope the existing generation of the Palestinian people will watch the day Palestine is at the disposal of the Palestinian people, in the hands of the landlords,” he said at prayers marking the Islamic Eid al-Fitr holiday that ends the holy month of Ramadan.

Khamenei has predicted Israel’s downfall in the past, like Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Khamenei has repeatedly called Israel a “cancerous tumor” that need to be removed from the Middle East.

Iran doesn’ t recognize Israel and backs Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

Israel had close ties with Iran when the late Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was in power. When the 1979 Islamic revolution toppled the shah, Iran broke ties with Israel and turned the Israeli embassy in Teheran into the Palestinian Authority embassy.

I do not expect famine in America prior to the tectonic chaos of the tribulation period.

It will continue in many countries from now until the tribulation period begins. I believe the first fantastic earthq

uake in the Book of Revelation in Revelation 6:12, and the attack by the Islamic nations against Israel in Daniel 11:40, will occur at about the same time, which I believe will

occur at a point in time between 2010 and 2015.

It is at this time the earthquakes, famines, and pestilences will suddenly begin in America with an impact never before experienced by man since he came on this planet. America is in for a rough ride during the last three and one-half years before the final battle Armageddon, which will end the Age of the Gentiles at the Second Advent of Christ.

Riots and other forms of civil unrest have already broken out around the world in response to a global grain shortage and surging food prices.

According to data from the World Food Program and

the early warning and global information system of the Food and Agricultural Organization, street protests and rioting over high food prices have broken out in Guinea, Indonesia, Mauritania, Mexico, Morocco, Uzbekistan, Yemen and West Africa in the past several months.

Prices of wheat and rice in particular have skyrocketed recently. Rice prices have increased 50 percent in the past year, while wheat prices went up 115 percent in the same time period. The high prices have been attributed to increased fuel and shipping costs, plus a worldwide food shortage

In response to the shortage, India has placed limited restrictions on rice exports to protect its domestic food supply, while Argentina, China and the Ukraine have all restricted exports of wheat and other grains. In an unprecedented move, the President of the Philippines recently made a personal appeal to Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, asking Nguyen to guarantee the Philippines a set quantity of rice imports.

The Philippines is heavily dependent upon rice imports to feed its population.

“This is a wake-up call,” said Robert Zeigler of the International Rice Research Institute.

“We have a crisis brewing in rice supply.”

Rice is a primary food source for half of the world’s population.

The global grain shortage has been blamed on droughts and other unusual weather caused by global warming, as well as the increasing diversion of grain into animal feed to meet the growing demand for meat and dairy products, especially in Asian countries.

The prices of foods made with grains, such as bread and beer, are also on the rise.

In addition, the increased costs of animal feed are being felt in higher prices for meat, dairy and eggs.

Rosh HaShanah Holiday, Monday Night thru Wednesday Night

(IsraelNN.com) The Jewish People begin nearly a month of holidays Monday evening: Two days of Rosh Hashanah, followed on Thursday by the Fast of Gedaliah. The fast commemorates the end of Jewish rule in the Land of Israel following the destruction of the First Holy Temple some 2,500 years ago.

News updates will resume on Wednesday night.

Two days later will be the Sabbath of Repentance, a central day in the Ten Days of Repentance between Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur (inclusive). This is the annual period in which Jews take upon themselves to correct their faults of the past year, and more carefully fulfill the Torah’s commandments, vis-a-vis both G-d and fellow man.

Asked why such a reckoning is not done more often throughout the year, Rabbi Shmuel Tal, head of the Torat HaChaim yeshiva in Yad Binyamin, has explained [the following is paraphrased]:

“One who plans a long journey is advised to first climb a hilltop and take a comprehensive view of the route he plans to take. However, if he continually climbs hilltops to take such views, he will not be able to actually proceed on his hike! The same is true here: We are given an opportunity once a year to take stock of our lives and where we are going, but most of the time, we must actually be living – performing the commandments and trying to follow G-d’s way as best we understand… This does not mean that a person should not review and note his deeds and misdeeds every day – but the ‘big picture’ must be examined once a year.”

Five days after Yom Kippur (Thursday, Oct. 9), the holiday of Sukkot begins. In Israel, the holiday is seven days long – one day of a Sabbath-like holiday, followed by six days of Chol HaMoed, on which many every-day activities are permitted (except for on Sabbath). Immediately afterwards, on Tuesday, Oct. 21, is the one-day Sabbath-like holiday of Shmini Atzeret/Simchat Torah, known as the Rejoicing of the Law.

Tuesday night will see post-holiday Hakafot Shniyot celebrations – a continuation of the day’s singing and dancing in honor of the Torah – all around the country.

Outside Israel, the holidays are celebrated slightly differently.

Sukkot begins with a two-day Sabbath-like holiday (Oct. 14-15), followed by five days of Chol HaMoed, on which many every-day activities are permitted (except for on Sabbath). Immediately afterwards, on Oct. 21-22, are two days of Sabbath-like holidays: Shmini Atzeret, and then Simchat Torah, known as the Rejoicing of the Law.

New Year Commemorations

As the Jewish New Year is not a time of great joy, but rather a time for careful stock-taking of one’s relationship with G-d, the Rosh HaShanah prayers – longer, more melodious, and more intense and inspirational than on a normal Sabbath – concentrate on G-d’s Kingship and His judgment of all creatures.

Based on the commandment in Numbers 29:1, 100 shofar blasts are dramatically sounded throughout the prayers, “awakening” us to improve our ways. The Tashlikh prayer is recited on Tuesday afternoon, preferably by a live stream of water in which we ask G-d to “throw away” our sins.

Upon returning home, special foods are served, especially sweet ones for a sweet year, as well as fruits that require a special Shehecheyanu blessing in honor of their being eaten for the first time since the previous season. Pomegranates are often served for this purpose.

As many as 40,000 Jews of all stripes, mainly Breslover Hassidim, are already in Uman, in Ukraine, to spend the holiday at the gravesite synagogues of their spiritual leader, Rebbe Nachman of Breslov, who passed away in Tishrei of 1810. Many say that their “Rosh HaShanah in Uman” is a life-changing experience, or at least provides them the spiritual replenishment they need f

or the coming year. Some rabbis, however, oppose the idea of leaving the Holy Land to spend holy days in the Diaspora.
