I waddled through the thirties hearing preachers in the hills saying that man was not going to destroy himself, but that God would perform his judgment using the phenomena described in books like Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Joel, Zechariah, Malachi, Revelation, etc.! Then I stumbled into the forties and began to watch all the man-made weapons of World War II being transposed into Bible prophecies as the instruments God was using to judge mankind, as they were twisted into a best fit scenario as to what the writers could claim was a particular thing in the prophecies of the Bible. Then I was jerked into the craze of converting the many things in prophecy to fit the atomic bomb after we ended World War II with two atomic bomb drops on Japan. And, since the thousands of books written in the rest of the 20th and 21st centuries, I have waded across a long sea of books by countless writers, who used a never ending chain of applications in a process of transposing man’s puny weaponry to fit all the objects, things, symbols, and figures in the prophetic books of the Bible. In all this waddling, stumbling, jerking, and wading, I have clung tenaciously to what I was first taught in the hills of northern Arkansas, and because of it, I am about as popular as a rattlesnake in a rabbit burrow. The prophetic teachings I espouse are, to a large extent, from the pre-1740 era of prophetic interpretation. Most preachers have never taken the time to really explore it. I believe the great Evangelical Movement, which began in 1740 in England, introduced into prophetic teachings new concepts that are simply not true, and most of what is taught today fits II Timothy 4:3-5.

II Timothy 4:3-5 – For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; [4] And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. [5] But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

The outburst of natural phenomena from 2004 to 2008 has been quite noticeable. One day the people are going to rise from their slumber to find the planet on which they reside in absolute chaos. I know the Bible says it will happen, and I know it will. No one can tell exactly when that day will suddenly come on man, but God did leave us some indicators as to what would be happening just before it suddenly sprang on mankind. The natural phenomena are among the indicators.

All I can tell you for sure is that it “near.” I can offer you a guesstimate of the day suddenly occurring at some point in time before 2010 and 2015, but it is a guess, no more and no less.

Will Tribulation Period Earthquakes Begin Soon?

Two very significant events occurred while I worked at the Federal Office building Office in downtown Kansas City, one in 1963 and one in 1964. I had just issued a severe weather warning box for something or other on November 22, 1963, and was back in the teletype room watching the high speed reports to see if active weather was starting to generate in the box. But the machine I was reading suddenly stopped, which was unusual, and then someone at the transmitting station manually, and very slowly, typed in the hunt and peck system of non-professional typists, a chilling all caps message – “THE PRESIDENT HAS BEEN SHOT.” In 1964, on March 28, in roughly the same manner, I was advised of the great tsunami producing earthquake in Alaska, and the effects of a tsunami flowing out from it in all directions from Prince Edward Sound. It was the first time I was ever actually cognizant of the effects an earthquake and its accompanying tsunami can produce on ocean coastal areas, and it was also the first time my interest in such phenomena was genuinely aroused. In fact, when I put together my first book, “Tectonic Chaos,” published by Diamond W. Graphics in Little Rock, Arkansas, I chose an engraving of the great tsunami of 1755, which swept in from the Atlantic on Portugal’s coastal port of Lisbon, as the book cover for it. In less than a day, the ancient city of Lisbon was completely destroyed by quakes, fire, and finally a wall of water, higher than a two-story building, that swept a half mile inland.

The first set of worldwide earthquake data I obtained, as I recollect, was published by National Technical Information Service, U.S. Department of Commerce, Springfield, Virginia. I believe it was one of the first KGRD – 5 Reports but, whatever the case, one could see the growing number of reported earthquakes up to 1967. I began to have more interest in theology and geology than I did in meteorology, and many Scriptures in the Bible came to life for me spiritually in all the physical things God created. So, after I graduated from the Missionary Baptist Seminary and Arkansas Tech University, the many pieces of the puzzle actually came together, and I started to understand how the following Scriptures, and many others, fit together in the manner they will be fulfilled by God.

Daniel 12:4 – But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Revelation 6:14 – And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

Revelation 16:20 – And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

Luke 21:25,26 – And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; [26] Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Isaiah 29:6 – Thou shalt be visited of the Lord of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.

I realized that what I had been taught from the Bible as a young man growing up under Missionary Baptist preachers in northern Arkansas was more likely to be true than what most post atomic bomb preachers taught. Most 20th Century writers said worldwide catastrophes would be fulfilled by man’s many weapons of mass destruction. I was taught that God would use the earth to fulfill his own prophecies by his own power through the release of natural disasters. In 2004 we viewed the results of one in southeastern Asia. The estimated death toll of this tsunami has been revised so many times to a higher figure I shiver to think what the final toll of it and its disease aftermath actually totaled.

As I took post-graduate courses at ATU, and continued to learn the physical sciences of the earth on, below, and above it, it became apparent to me that a worldwide shifting of the tectonic plates would produce the exact phenomena described by the Old and New Testament prophets and writers. I visualize one or two tsunamis like the one in Southeast Asia occurring each month for the final 42 months of the tribulation period. I am convinced this earth will go into a shortened tectonic mountain building period, likely beginning at some point in time between 2010 and 2015, such as man has never experienced in his history.

Revelation 16:18-20 – And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

[19] And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. [20] And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

All the earthquakes in the book of Revelation are placed between the opening of the sixth seal in 6:12 and the pouring out of the seventh vial of wrath in 16:18. It is in this time period that the greatest geological upheaval and transformation of the tectonic plates, since God placed Adam on this earth, will occur. Revelation 6:12 – And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; (See Archives – Birth Pang 3)

This earthquake will trigger a chain reaction that spreads erratically on the tectonic plate borders of the earth to produce countless numbers of earthquakes for some three and one-half years across the surface of the entire planet. All mountains and islands are firmly impregnated into these massive plates, and ride along as passengers on their surface. By the end of the three and one-half years, every mountain peak, and the center of every island, will have a new set of latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates in microseconds. I know this to be true because Revelation 6:14 states that “every mountain and island were moved out of their places.” Furthermore, I believe the fantastic breakup along the shifting place borders will produce thousands of volcanic eruptions, which will fulfill the phenomenon “and the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together.” I believe the use of a Jewish scroll as a simile to show the gradual disappearance of the sun, moon, stars, and blue sky, is the perfect illustration of the effect volcanic smoke has on the appearance of the heavens as it builds up in the stratosphere. When the great volcano Krakatoa erupted in 1883 more than half of the island was destroyed and blown away in the explosion. The cloud over the volcano reached 17 miles into the air, and the volcanic dust from the eruption was carried completely around the world by the winds of

the stratosphere – taking months to drift down to the earth’s surface. The microscopic volcanic particles in the earth’s atmosphere produced beautiful sunrises and sunsets throughout a large part of the world long after the eruption.

I am convinced that the shifting of the plates will generate the formation of long chains of volcanic eruptions, pictured in figure 10, along all the boundaries of figure 3. God, who made everything I have described to the point, has also created, around the entire earth, a great temperature inversion shroud in the lower section of the stratosphere, just above the tropopause. So any time there is a moderate to severe vertical volcanic eruption, smoke is forcefully injected through the tropopause, and then trapped beneath the temperature inversion of the stratosphere.

There is virtually no moisture found above the tropopause, so the volcanic smoke particles take a long time to become heavy enough to fall earthward by condensation of water vapor on them, and smoke remains suspended in the lower section of the stratosphere for five to fifteen years. The winds, in the lower section of the stratosphere, do spread the volcanic smoke around the entire envelope of atmosphere that surrounds the earth over a two to four year period. Figure 11 portrays the great temperature inversion that exists through the stratosphere around the entire earth. As the smoke attempts to rise through this inversion it soon reaches a temperature near its own, and then begins to flatten out into a great shield of smoke, a shield that is then carried by upper level winds to produce an earth encompassing cloud in the lower stratosphere. Have you ever really looked at all the Old and New Testament prophecies that describe the appearance of the heavenly bodies during the last three and one-half years of the Tribulation Period? Let us now consider just a few of them, to see if we can correlate them with the increasing severity of their visual effect on the view of human eyes from start to finish.

Revelation 6:12 – And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

Joel 2:30,31 – And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. [31] The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord come.

Revelation 8:12 – And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

Joel 2:10 – The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:

Matthew 24:29 – Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

How can this be? One prophet says you will not be able to see the sun, moon, and stars about one-third of the time, but another says you won’t be able to see them at all. These prophecies are fulfilled gradually over the last three and one-half years of the Tribulation Period, and the prophets have been given visions of their effects on the view of the heavenly bodies from the earth, at different times, during this period. Let us assume that the last three and on-half years of the Tribulation Period have begun, and a person is standing at point “X” on figure 12. This person could look up and see the sun, moon, or stars from this vantage point on the earth’s surface without obstruction. Now, let’s allow figure 12 to come alive, with the winds of the stratosphere moving the volcanic smoke clouds around the earth in patches. Within a few hours after you first made your unobstructed observation of the sun, moon, or stars, the thin leading edge of the volcanic cloud would begin to move between you and the heavenly bodies. If it were night, the moon would turn blood red.

If it were day, the sun would be darkened. Within an hour or two the thicker part of the volcanic smoke shield would move over you, and the sun, moon, or stars would completely disappear from view. After a few more hours the back side of the cloud would move past, and you would once again be enjoying a clear space between volcanic cloud patches, such that the sun, moon, or stars would again be visible. This scenario would be repeated over and over again during the last three and one-half years of the Tribulation Period, but on a gradually worsening trend. You would not be able to see the sun, moon, or stars about one-third of the time – at times the moon would be blood red and the sun black as sackcloth of hair – and sometimes you could not see any of the heavenly bodies. All of this is exactly what the Old and New Testament prophets observed in their visions. These are a part of the “signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars” prophesied by Luke.

Luke 21:25,26 – And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; [26] Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

At this point it may seem I have been sidetracked from explaining “and the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together,” however, everything up to this point has been for that specific purpose. In Revelation 6:14, the word used for heaven is “ouranos,” and there are three of them: (1) The heaven where God dwells, (2) The heaven that makes up our atmosphere, and (3) The heaven were the sun, moon, stars, and other heavenly bodies dwell, that is, the universe. It is the universe heaven to which John refers. The word translated “departed” is “apechoristhe,” which, in this case, simply means “was removed from view.” John is saying he saw what the Hebrews considered heaven (sun, moon, and stars) removed from his view. When a man departs, or is removed, he is no longer visible to the one from which he departed. He may “depart” quickly or slowly. He may remain in view for a long time before he does finally “depart” from view. John says that the heaven disappeared from his view, and then tells us the very slow manner in which it disappeared – “as a scroll when it is rolled together.” The reader of the scroll reads, then rolls,

reads, then rolls, reads, then rolls, and continues this process until the writing departs from his view after the final page is read. On the last turning the two rollers come together, at which time the writing completely disappears from his view.

In figure 13 you can see the likeness of a Hebrew scroll. If, while you were reading the scroll, it was slowly rolled together, then it could be truly stated that the writing departed from your view, “as a scroll when it is rolled together.” In his vision John looked up into what the Hebrews considered the heavens and, as he watched, all the heavenly bodies slowly disappeared over a period of time.

This is exactly what will occur during the period of time we identify as the last three and one-half years of the Tribulation Period. It will occur like the slow rolling together of a scroll, such that by the end of the Tribulation Period a continuous cloud band of smoke will completely engulf the earth in the lower section of the stratosphere. No one will be able to see the sun, moon, or stars through the thick shroud for about five months before the Battle of Armageddon. It is through the great stratospheric cloud, shown in figure 14, that the author believes the Lord shall return at the end of the Tribulation Period.

I believed, ever since 1967, that at some point in time before 2008 Israel would be attacked from Syria and, when the attack occurred the great earthquake of Revelation 6:12 would rumble through the Jordan River Valley, and Israel would be driven into the Negev wilderness. In the late seventies I thought the attack could occur as early as the late eighties or early nineties, but by the late eighties I realized things were moving much slower than I had anticipated in the seventies, and I knew it would occur after 2000. By the late nineties I began to believe it was probably going to just before 2008. All I have ever known for certain is that it is going to occur and, based on world events since 2004, I suspect the most likely time Israel will be attacked lies at some point between 2010 and 2015.

The two excerpts which give accounts covering the last 48 hours are from the Miami Herald and Newday.Com. The worst is yet to come. I examined the southwest to northeast valley rift through this long area through which the earthquake rippled, and I suspect the death count will be astronomical once all the area is searched.

I am familiar with this area because it lies south of the Chinese missile test range impact zone near Lop Nor.

As the death toll in earthquake-ravaged areas of China soared past 9,000 on Monday, members of South Florida’s Chinese and Chinese-American community reached out to relatives abroad and began talk of preparing aid for the victims.

The news reached Charles Cheung about 8 a.m., shortly after the 7.8 earthquake struck. Relatives in Taiwan called him.

Of Chinese descent, Cheung was born and raised in Taiwan and lives in Northwest Miami-Dade. A year ago, he opened a wine business in Chongquing. The office is on the 40th floor of a skyscraper in the downtown area.

Cheung spoke with his employees on Monday morning and they described their experiences.

Tzu Chi, a nonprofit welfare organization based in Taiwan with a chapter in Miami, expects to be providing some relief.

”We’ve been busy with the cyclone,” said Allen Tsai, president of the local chapter.

They presently have volunteers working in nearby Myanmar, where on May 3 a cyclone struck, with up to 100,000 feared dead.

Another local agency includes the Miami Overseas Chinese Association. In the past they have raised money for the victims of 2004’s Indian Sea tsunami. They were not immediately reached for comment.

Rescuers dig for thousands buried in China quake

Rescue workers dug through schools and homes turned into rubble by China’s worst earthquake in three decades to reach thousands of victims trapped beneath slabs of concrete, as the death toll of 10,000 appeared certain to rise on Tuesday.

A day after the powerful 7.9 magnitude quake struck, state media said rescue workers had only just reached the epicenter in Wenchuan county — cut off by the disaster and where the number of casualties was unknown.

But the official Xinhua News Agency reported 10,000 people “remained buried” in Mianzhu, 60 miles from the epicenter.

Heavy rain, which had contributed to the difficulty of reaching the epicenter, continued to impede efforts and a group of paratroopers called off a mission to the area, Xinhua said.

The tremors caused a wide swath of damage across central China, leveling buildings and severing roads and communications. It sent people rushing out of their offices across the country in Beijing, and was felt as far away as Vietnam.

Nearly 10,000 people died in Sichuan province alone and 300 others in other provinces and the mega-city of Chongqing, Xinhua reported.

Earthquake rescue experts in orange jumpsuits extricated bloody survivors on stretchers from demolished buildings, and some 34,000 troops swarmed into the region to help.

A 40-car freight train with 13 gasoline tankers derailed in the quake and was still burning Tuesday, the agency said, with no word on casualties.

Aftershocks rattled the region for a second day, sending people running into the streets in the city of Chengdu. The U.S. Geological Survey measured the shocks between magnitude 4 and 6, some of the strongest since Monday’s quake.

Just east of the epicenter, 1,000 students and teachers were killed or missing at a collapsed high school in Beichuan county. The six- or seven-story building was reduced to a pile of rubble about two yards high, according to Xinhua. Another 900 students were feared dead when their school collapsed in Juyuan, which is in Dujiangyan city.

The Beichuan school had more than 2,000 students and teachers in three school buildings. The other two buildings collapsed partially, Xinhua said.

Up to 5,000 people were killed and 80 percent of the buildings had collapsed in Beichuan, Xinhua said, in a region of small cities and towns set amid steep hills north of Sichuan’s provincial capital of Chengdu. The government has poured more than 16,000 troops into the area with tens of thousands more on the way.

Buildings were knocked down on every block and corpses were laid out in the street. People were seeking rides out of town, where makeshift tent cities were being erected as shelter from rain that began Tuesday and could affect rescue efforts.

Before the rescue workers arrived, the only previous contact with hard-hit Wenchuan, Xinhua said, was a satellite phone call from the local Communist Party secretary to appeal for air drops of tents, food and medicine. The official, Wang Bin, said there were 57 reported deaths so far, with more than 300 other people seriously injured. He said the figures were likely to rise as there was no information from mountainous areas.

He estimated that at least 30,000 of the county’s 105,000 residents slept outside Monday night.

The quake was China’s deadliest since 1976, when 240,000 people were killed in the city of Tangshan, near Beijing in 1976.

The latest quake hit a fault where South Asia pushes against the Eurasian land mass, smashing the Sichuan plain into mountains leading to the Tibetan highlands — near communities that held sometimes violent protests against Chinese rule in mid-March.

A senior Egyptian mediator will today present to the Israeli government a new ceasefire proposal agreed with the Hamas Islamist movement that could halt the conflict in Gaza and begin to resolve the mounting economic crisis that has engulfed the strip.

Omar Suleiman, the head of Egyptian intelligence, is due to meet Israeli officials with the proposal after weeks of talks with Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups. The prospect of an initiative that might start to alleviate the economic blockade on Gaza comes two days before George Bush is due to meet Israeli and Palestinian leaders to discuss the flagging peace talks in the region.

Mahmoud Zahar, the most senior Hamas leader in Gaza, told the Guardian that his movement had agreed to the proposal in order to end the economic crisis. He said it had agreed that the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt could open and function with the involvement of representatives of Hamas’s rival, the Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas, who is based in the West Bank. This amounts to a small but important concession from Hamas.

Zahar said he believed all the armed groups in Gaza, including Islamic Jihad, which is more hardline than Hamas, supported the ceasefire plan. It would run at first for six months and

would cover only Gaza. In the past Hamas has pushed for a ceasefire to include the West Bank, but Zahar said the proposal was restricted to Gaza at the prompting of the Egyptians.

Hamas is demanding that Israel reopen all the crossing points into Gaza, but Zahar said his group would also accept a compromise under which there is a ceasefire but only the crossing at Rafah is reopened.

European monitors would, as before, be allowed to observe and monitor the crossing but Zahar said they should not have the right to order it closed. In the past, Israel could effectively close Rafah at any time since it could determine whether

it was secure enough for European monitors to be present at Rafah. When they were not present

the crossing was closed. Asked about the role of European monitors now, Zahar said: “We have no objection. They have the full right to observe and monitor but not to close or open the gate.”

Israel would retain some influence since it still has control of the Palestinian population registry, which determines who can cross into Gaza through Rafah. Otherwise the proposal is broadly in line with a 2005 agreement on Gaza’s crossings negotiated by the US secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice. It is not clear what happens to Rafah if Israel rejects the ceasefire proposal.

Zahar, an English-speaker and a founder of Hamas, is regarded as a hardliner. Asked if he accepted a future Palestinian state in the borders of pre-1967 Palestinian land, he said: “This is not the proper time to speak about this question.”

Jerusalem will listen to what Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman has to say, but is not expected to give a formal response to the deal Egypt has worked out with Hamas for a cease-fire in Gaza, diplomatic sources said Sunday, on the eve of Suleiman’s long-postponed visit.

Over the past few months, Suleiman has been scheduled to arrive for talks a number of times, but each time postponed at the last minute, apparently because of a lack of what to present in Jerusalem.

He is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Eli Yishai, who has said he would be willing to meet with Hamas to free kidnapped IDF soldier Cpl. Gilad Schalit.

On Monday morning, Barak will host Suleiman for breakfast at his home in Tel Aviv. Officials said Israel had not yet been told all the details of what Egypt apparently worked out with Hamas and that Barak would not immediately accept or reject the deal.

They said there would be a continuation in talks between Suleiman and the Defense Ministry’s Diplomatic-Military Bureau chief, Maj.-Gen. (res.) Amos Gilad, to clarify all outstanding matters.

Israel’s main concern is that smaller Palestinian factions will not abide by a cease-fire. In addition, Israel wants Hamas to stop all arms-smuggling across Gaza’s border with Sinai.

A senior defense official said Egypt was making greater efforts in recent weeks to curb the smuggling and to uncover tunnels under the Philadelphi Corridor.

A draft of the truce proposal was sent to the Defense Ministry last week. Its main elements include a cease-fire in Gaza for six months, during which time Israel would halt all military activity there and Hamas would stop its terrorism.

The deal also includes the reopening of the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt according to the arrangements in the agreement brokered by US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in 2005. Hamas, according to the deal, would not be allowed to maintain a presence at the crossing.

Egypt, defense officials said Sunday, was trying to present the opening of Rafah as an opportunity for the Palestinian Authority to return to the Gaza Strip for the first time since Hamas’s takeover last June. Under the 2005 agreement, European monitors would redeploy at the crossing and assist PA officers from the PA’s Force 17 Presidential Guard – loyal to President Mahmoud Abbas – in running the border terminal.

Israel leans toward Gaza truce, despite fatal Kassam attack

An elderly woman was killed by a Kassam rocket that scored a direct hit on a western Negev community Monday evening, hours after Israeli leaders said they were leaning toward accepting an Egyptian cease-fire deal with Hamas.

Shlomit Katz, 70, of Kibbutz Gvar’am, was killed while visiting Moshav Yesha in the Eshkol Regional Council.

The deadly attack came four days after a mortar shell barrage killed Jimmy Kedoshim, 48, a father of four, as he stood in the yard of his house in Kibbutz Kfar Aza in the Negev.

Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for Monday’s attack, after which certain defense officials warned against accepting the Egyptian-proposed cease-fire with Hamas and called for a military response to the continued rocket fire. A half-dozen rockets fell in the western Negev area Monday, including one that landed in Ashkelon.

Despite the escalation in violence, officials close to Defense Minister Ehud Barak said that Israel was leaning toward accepting Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman’s truce offer, which was presented to the defense minister during a breakfast meeting at Barak’s Tel Aviv home earlier in the day. Israel plans to first gradually accept the offer and later turn it into a full-fledged cease-fire following Gilad Schalit’s release.

Defense officials said that if the Egyptian-brokered cease-fire did not last, Israel would most likely embark on a large-scale operation in the Gaza Strip against Hamas.

“If the cease-fire doesn’t work, our alternative to stopping Hamas’s attacks is by invading Gaza,” a senior official said.

During their meetings with Suleiman, both Barak and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert stressed the cease-fire needed to include the release of Schalit as well as an end to all forms of attacks on Israel from the Gaza Strip and a cessation of Hamas’s arms build-up there. Suleiman told Barak that the acceptance of the deal would not bring Schalit’s immediate release, but would expedite the process.

Barak also stressed that Israel would not continue to restrain itself from responding to the continuous missile fire from the Gaza Strip, and that Israel would be forced to take more stringent military steps if the attacks did not stop.

The defense minister also told Suleiman that Israel would demand assurances from Egypt that it would increase its efforts to curb weapons smuggling under the Philadelphi Corridor. Suleiman said that Egypt was making more efforts and hoped to receive US-made tunnel-detection systems in the coming weeks to add to those efforts.

Suleiman, according to officials in the Prime Minister’ s Office,

said he would take those conditions back, discuss them with Hamas, and return with an answer. No time frame, however, was given. The officials said that Suleiman, who has been trying to broker a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip for weeks, did not come with any new proposal.

Olmert and Suleiman met for some 90 minutes in discussions that Olmert’s office characterized as “good.” The first stage of the deal calls for a cessation of IDF action and Hamas terror activity as well as the opening of the Israeli crossings into Gaza. At a later stage, the Rafah crossing is slated to be opened.

Sources in Olmert’s office said that three weeks ago Olmert and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak scheduled a meeting in Sharm e-Sheikh sometime after the World Economic Forum meeting there this weekend.

It is widely expected that when the two do meet, it would be to finalize the agreement.

So far no date has been set.

Olmert’s spokesman Mark Regev, meanwhile, denied that Suleiman’s shuttle between meetings with Israeli officials and that Hamas officials represented an indirect form of negotiations.

“There are no negotiations, with Hamas,” Regev insisted. “Israel and Egypt have a common interest in trying to maintain stability in the south.

Israel cannot continue to tolerate the daily barrage of rockets, so either the attacks will cease or Israel will have to stop them. We don’t have a great desire to escalate in the south, and if it is possible to achieve clam, that is obviously our preference, and the Egyptian’s preference.”

Government sources, meanwhile, said that Israel’s insistence that Schalit be included in the deal – knowing Hamas would not agree – was a way to gracefully get out of an agreement that Israel is not enamored with. According to these sources, Israel is concerned that Hamas would use the cease-fire to build up strength in Gaza, something Israel wants to prevent. According to the sources, conditioning the agreement on the release of Schalit is something the public would back.

Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, meanwhile, also told Suleiman that there would be no arrangements in Gaza as long as Schalit remained in captivity. She also stressed that there could not be calm in the Gaza Strip until the arms smuggling and the Hamas weapons build-up ceased.

Suleiman also met Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Eli Yishai, from Shas, who has said he would be willing to meet with Hamas to secure Schalit’s release.

I am hoping the 7.8 plus earthquake in China last night will lead this generation to realize it is the last one in the Age of the Gentiles. I always find myself wishing mankind would read Psalm Two, and realize God, who man has to tried to explain away since the Garden of Eden, is about to use his creation to fulfill the prophecy found therein. If you failed to kiss the Son in the past, I strongly urge you now to do what its last verse recommends.

Psalm 2:12 – Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

The first estimates of deaths I heard were 3,000 to 5,000, but I am sure, when the final count is in, it is likely to exceed 10,000.

THUNDER, EARTHQUAKE, GREAT NOISE, STORM & TEMPEST, AND THE FLAME OF DEVOURING FIRE – 2004 TO 2008

Think about the events on, under, and above the earth and heavens God created, which have occurred from December 2004 to May 2008.

Think about the many great noises associated with earthquakes rumbling on the earth’s fault lines, the great noises associated with the storm and the tempest of typhoons, cyclones, tornadoes, and tsunami, and then think about the noise of a thundering volcano throwing its flame of devouring fire into the heavens and one the earth. And then ask yourself – Have there been an awful lot of these natural events occurring since 2004? As you do, ask yourself – Did God make the earth, does he control it, and will He use it to fulfill his prophecies? My answer to these questions for more than thirty years has been – YES – And my guess is that between 2010 and 2015 mankind will find out if my YES was correct!

The great earthquake and tsunami of December 2004 began a period of time of natural phenomena outbreaks that, when considered as a whole, have made a remarkable parallel to the natural phenomena which God controls, which he warns of in last days as indicators the Second Advent of his Son is near. The combination of this chain of natural events has been quite noticeable since 2004 up to the present time.

The Deadliest Tsunami in Modern Times – December 2004

The earthquake that generated the great Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004 is estimated to have released the energy of 23,000 Hiroshima-type atomic bombs, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS)

Giant forces that had been building up deep in the Earth for hundreds of years were released suddenly on December 26, shaking the ground violently and unleashing a series of killer waves that sped across the Indian Ocean at the speed of a jet airliner.

By the end of the day more than 150,000 people were dead or missing and millions more were homeless in 11 countries, making it perhaps the most destructive tsunami in history.

The epicenter of the 9.0 magnitude quake was under the Indian Ocean near the west coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra, according to the USGS, which monitors earthquakes worldwide. The violent movement of sections of the Earth’s crust, known as tectonic plates, displaced an enormous amount of water, sending powerful shock waves in every direction.

The earthquake was the result of the sliding of the portion of the Earth’s crust known as the India plate under the section called the Burma plate. The process has been going on for millennia, one plate pushing against the other until something has to give.

The result on December 26 was a rupture the USGS estimates was more than 600 miles (1,000 kilometers) long, displacing the seafloor above the rupture by perhaps 10 yards (about 10 meters) horizontally and several yards vertically. That doesn’t sound like much, but the trillions of tons of rock that were moved along hundreds of miles caused the planet to shudder with the largest magnitude earthquake in 40 years.

Above the disturbed seafloor the great volume of the ocean was displaced along the line of the rupture, creating one of nature’s most deadly phenomena: a tsunami. Within hours killer waves radiating from the earthquake zone slammed into the coastline of 11 Indian Ocean countries, snatching people out to sea, drowning others in their homes or on beaches, and demolishing property

from Africa to Thailand.

Tsunamis have been relatively rare in the Indian Ocean, at least in human memory. They are most prevalent in the Pacific. But every ocean has generated the scourges. Many countries are at risk.

The Indian Ocean tsunami traveled as much as 3,000 miles (nearly 5,000 kilometers) to Africa, arriving with sufficient force to kill people and destroy property.

A powerful earthquake in southwest China killed an estimated 3,000 to 5,000 people today and buried 900 teenagers in a collapsed school as the tremor caused buildings to fall and left whole areas cut off, Xinhua news agency said.

As many as 10,000 in Sichuan’s Beichuan county were feared injured, the report said.

The death toll was expected to rise as authorities and rescue teams make contact with the worst-hit areas of Sichuan province, where roads and phone lines have been cut off since the 7.8 magnitude quake struck.

The 900 students were buried in the rubble of a collapsed three-storey school building in the Sichuan city of Dujiangyan.

Rescuers were trying to retrieve survivors but details were still sketchy.

The casualties occurred in the provinces of Sichuan, Gansu and Yunnan as well as Chongqing, a municipality of 30 million people that neighbors Sichuan, state media said.

The quake’s epicentre was in the nearby Sichuan county of Wenchuan and its force caused buildings to sway across China and as far away as the Thai capital Bangkok.

Four more children died in a separate school collapse in Lirang township of Chongqing.

Another 10 died and 14 were seriously injured in the north-western province of Gansu, Xinhua news agency’s online edition said.

Buildings toppled in at least six counties near the epicentre, Xinhua said. Mountainous Wenchuan has a population of about 100,000 people.

In Beijing and Shanghai, office workers poured into the streets as the tremor hit.

In the capital, which will host the summer Olympics in August, there was no visible damage and the showpiece Bird’s Nest stadium was unscathed, the project’s engineer told Xinhua.

But in Sichuan, phone lines in Wenchuan were completely cut and a website for the region’s Aba prefecture said the quake had cut several major highways in the region and communications were down in 11 counties.

Premier Wen Jiabao had rushed to the area and President Hu Jintao ordered an “all-out” rescue effort, Xinhua reported.

Thousands of army troops and paramilitary People’s Armed Police carrying medical supplies were also headed to the region, state television said.

State television showed footage of residents in the Sichuan capital Chengdu, w here the airport and railway station were closed, crowded in the streets looking relatively unscathed but for one woman shown bleeding from

her head.

Foreign tourists in white bathrobes milled in a Chengdu street, apparently having fled their hotel. In some parts of the city, water and electricity were cut off, state radio said.

“The air-conditioning unit fell off the wall.

Vases are all broken,” a resident in Sichuan’s Mianyang told Reuters.

“The sick in hospital have been moved outside to open fields. There is no electricity and no mobile phone reception. People are afraid of aftershocks.”

The US Geological Survey said on its website that the main quake struck at 0628 GMT at a depth of 6 miles.

An employee at the local newspaper in Mianyang said there had been several earthquakes. USGS said there had been numerous aftershocks.

Xinhua said there was no immediate impact to the Three Gorges Dam project, the weight of whose massive reservoir, hundreds of miles from Chengdu, experts have said could increase the risk of tremors.

A source at the biggest refinery in western China, Lanzhou, said the plant also appeared unaffected by the quake.

After more than 40 years of listening to the statements of what is often called the “moderate” Islamic faith element body, which consists mostly of Sunni Muslims, I was amazed as I read the Jerusalem Post Article giving the reaction to the events of the last several days in Lebanon. It was probably the first time I ever agreed with an entire article based on the statements of the “moderate” element in Islam.

The “moderate” governments

, groups, and individuals in the societies of Islam, even though they are greater in number than those controlled by the Shiites, are cowering under, and being subjugated by, the bullying spirit of Jihad rising up out of Iran in the fanatical anticipation of their version of the Messiah, the great Al Mahdi, the 12th Imam.

THE ISLAMIC ANTICHRIST IS NOT TOO FAR AWAY!

Iran’s current President is a “died in the wool” religious Islamic fanatic from the top of his head to the tip of his toes. The Apostle Paul was a “Hebrew of the Hebrews,” and President Ahmadinejad is truly a “Shiite of the Shiites.” He is locked in combat with the old conservative heads. They have run Iran since the revolution that overthrew the Shah of Iran. He is trying to slip new leaders and departments into his new government. He is trying to get younger key members of the extremeists from his Revolutionary Guard into top positions of power, putting out the old leaders who have held power for so long over all governmental decisions. It appears he has another revolution in mind, one in which he has absolute power to form a very radical Islamic Republic to replace the current conservative one. I truly believe the religious extremism in the fanatical Shiite beliefs among their literal interpreters is going to unveil the antichrist among them.

Both the Sunni and Shiite sects of the Muslim faith believe in a coming Al-Mahdi, which we would relate to by our looking forward to the return of our Messiah Jesus Christ. The major difference between the two sects of Sunni and Shiite, concerning the coming of their Messiah, the Al-Mahdi, it that the Sunni believe he is yet to be born, while the Shiites believe he has been hiding in a cave for some 1,100 years, but will soon come out to rule all Islam as the 12th Imam. Many of the local Imams across Iran and Iraq are preaching his coming is very soon, and a fever for his arrival is growing.

The President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is a Shiite religious literalist, who believes in the imminent return of the 12th Imam. His segment of the Shiite faith believes the 12th Imam went into hiding in the 9th century. The Sunni sect of Islam believes the Al-Mahdi, who is to arise and lead Islam to rule the world and establish a one-world Islamic religion, will be an ordinary man, born to an ordinary woman, and will live an ordinary life with the people of his time. But the Shiites under the same persuasion of their current President, believe that soon the 12th Imam, who disappeared mysteriously in the 9th century, will suddenly appear to lead the Shiites to victory over all enemies starting with the hypocrite mullahs and ending with the Jews. In the Shiite theology, believing in the Imams is the cornerstone of their faith. They believe the 12th Imam has been living in a cave for more than ten centuries, and that he will suddenly surface from his hiding place as their Mahdi, their Messiah, and will meet Jesus, the Son of Mary. They believe Jesus, the Prophet of Allah, will be second in command in that he will pray behind Al-Mahdi. They believe Allah will give Al-Mahdi the ability to rule the Muslim nations with righteous-ness in the span of a night.

In the Shiite theology of the religious followers of the current President of Iran, the 12th Imam is still the sole source of legitimate power on the earth. I suspect a man will suddenly arise in Islam claiming to be the 12th Imam. He will declare himself to have returned with the power of Allah but in reality, he

will be the antichrist. Islamic writers indicate the signs in the next paragraph will precede the 12th Imam.

There are many signs that will precede him. A very important sign is that he will come at a time when there is great confutation, intense disputing, and violent deaths – when people are experiencing great fear. Calamities will fall upon people, so much that a man shall not find a shelter to shelter him self from oppression.

There will be battles and conflicts before his appearance.

The people will be troubled to such an extent that they will long for death. It is then that Imam will arise. The messenger of Allah said he will be sent at a time of intense disputes and differences among people amidst widespread earthquakes.

It may well be that Paul’s man of sin, the antichrist, is the coming Islamic Al Mahdi.

‘Hizbullah acting like Hamas in Gaza’

The Palestinian Authority on Sunday called on Palestinians to keep their distance from the warring factions in Lebanon, saying any intervention in the conflict would harm the interests of the 450,000

Palestinians living there.

PA President Mahmoud Abbas warned against “suspicious” attempts to involve the Palestinians in the fighting between Hizbullah and supporters of the US-backed government of Prime Minister Fuad Saniora.

Abbas said he was following with concern the latest developments in Lebanon and expressed hope that mediation efforts to solve the crisis would succeed.

“We are keen on Lebanon’s unity and stability,” he said. “We want to have the best relations with all

the factions in Lebanon. The Palestinians in Lebanon are guests until they return to Palestine.”

Abbas said that in the wake of the Palestinians’ “painful experiences” in the past, they should refrain from siding with any faction and respect Lebanon’s official institutions and laws. He was referring to the Palestinians’ role in Lebanon’s civil war in the 1970s and ’80s.

However, by urging the Palestinians to respect the official institutions in Lebanon, Abbas is actually siding with the Saniora government.

Despite the appeal to

the Palestinians to stay away from the conflict, PA officials expressed fear at the growing influence of Iran in the region. They pointed out that the Iranians were supporting both Hizbullah and Hamas in their efforts to undermine the “moderate” governments in Ramallah and Beirut.

The officials also voiced concern that Hizbullah’s armed coup d’etat would embolden Hamas and other radical Palestinian groups in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

“Hizbullah is doing exactly what Hamas did in the Gaza Strip,” said one PA official. “Of course we are very concerned about the negative role that Iran is playing in Beirut and the Gaza Strip.” Another official in Ramallah noted that Hizbullah and its political allies in Lebanon have been “inciting” against the PA and Abbas by accusing them of being pawns in the hands of the US and Israel.

“Hizbullah sees no difference between the Palestinian Authority and the Saniora government,” he said. “As far as Hizbullah is concerned, we are CIA and Mossad agents. They see us as traitors serving the interests of the Americans and Zionists in the Arab world.”

The official launched a scathing attack on Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah for using arms to seize large parts of Beirut.

“Only two leaders have occupied Beirut in the past few decades,” he said. “One of them was Ariel Sharon and the second Hassan Nasrallah. Beirut is the third Arab area to be occupied by the Shi’ites after Basra and the Gaza Strip. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wants to establish an Islamic state in Lebanon like the one he’s already created in the Gaza Strip with the help of Hamas.”

Palestinian columnist Suleiman al-Wa’ari said Hizbullah had been inspired by Hamas’s violent takeover of the Gaza Strip.

“These two Islamic groups are seeking to establish Islamic republics through violent means,” he said. “It’s unfortunate that they have not learned from the experience of other Islamic organizations that came to power through democratic means.”

Hani al-Masri, a political analyst closely associated with the PA leadership in Ramallah, expressed fear that a civil war in Lebanon would have negative repercussions on the Palestinian cause.

“What is happening in Lebanon is linked to the events in Palestine and Iraq,” he said. “Like Palestine and Iraq, Lebanon is now facing sectarian and factional divisions. Iran, on the other hand, is on the way to becoming a major player in the region at the expense of Israel.”

Hizballah ultimatum demands Druze disarmament as price for ceasefire

DEBKAfile reports: In the second winning round of its war on the pro-Western Siniora government, Hizballah pounded the Druze strongholds of anti-Syrian Walid Jumblatt in the Mt.

Lebanon hills east of Beirut all day Sunday, April 11. When the Druze leader asked his rival Talal Arselan to broker a truce deal, Hizballah laid down an ultimatum: Druze militias must turn in their heavy weapons to the Lebanese army and disarm their troops or the attacks go on.

In the northern town of Tripoli Hizballah allies continued to fight pro-government Sunni loyalists.

Shiite gunmen continue to man roadblocks on Beirut highways including the airport road even through Hizballah agreed Saturday, May 10, to take its armed men off the streets after the army surrendered to its two key demands.

DEBKAfile’s sources report that Hizballah fighters mingle with Shiite Amal men in order to camouflage their continuing street presence. Lebanese soldiers still do not venture into the districts conquered by Hizballah in four days of fierce fighting. The crisis which has claimed 44 dead and 128 wounded is therefore far from over. Arab League foreign ministers met Sunday in emergency session called by Saudi Arabia and Egypt

Israel’s deputy defense minister Vilnai said the Lebanese situation is worrying but there is no cause for Israel to intervene.

In obedience to Hizballah demands the Lebanese army revoked two government measures Saturday: the Shiite group’s independent telecommunication network will not be shut down and the pro-Hizballah Brig. Gen Wafiq Shqeir would keep his job as Beirut international airport head of security. The general was accused of waving through illegal Iranian arms shipments for Hizballah.

In a broadcast speech, Saturday, May 10, the pro-Western prime minister Fouad Siniora asked the army to defuse the crisis after Hizballah seized control of western Beirut, besieged the government center and attacked pro-government Sunni centers across Lebanon. Government loyalists found no support from Sinora’s powerful backers, the United States, France or even Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The pro-Western government was therefore forced to back down.

This meant its acceptance of Hizballah’s communication system in central, southern and eastern Lebanon and its direct link to Syrian and Iranian command centers in Damascus; and the Shiite group’s Beirut headquarters online communications link to its Revolutionary Guards bosses in Tehran.

Triumphant, the Hizballah chief Hassan Hasrallah will be a more dangerous enemy than ever. The army rather than the government laid down the condition that Hizballah withdraw from the Sunni districts of Beirut and the rest of the country and remove its armed men from the streets.

Even so, a government minister remarked that the deal awaits approval by Hizballah leaders and the Iranian ambassador in Beirut. It is far from certain that the Shiite terrorists will give up the territory they gained in the last four days.
