Turkey, a part of NATO, will switch her allegiance to become one of the ten toes on Daniel’s Chapter 2 Statue, and with her will go the military secrets of NATO. I warned about this trend last year in the following Blog Article.

Recent developments, particularly in the last six months, show a very definite trend of Russia and China drawing closer together against the U.S. and Israel

as demonstrated by massive military exercises practiced along their borders, secular Turkey returning to its Islamic roots amid contacts with Iran and Syria, and the former Soviet Union countries around the Caspian Sea showing how their majority

Islamic occupants are linking with Islam rather then the West. The final act on the world stage is preparing itself for an eventual war in which Israel will find herself driven into the Negev, where she will remain for some three and one half years prior to Armageddon and the Second Advent of Messiah.

Assad visits Turkey, may push for help reviving talks with Israel

Syrian President Bashar Assad arrived in Turkey Tuesday for a four-day visit to discuss regional issues and bilateral ties, Anatolia news agency reported. Assad was to dine with Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul on Tuesday evening ahead of formal talks on Wednesday that will include meetings with Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ali Babacan.

He will also travel to Istanbul before wrapping up his visit on Friday.

Last week, Assad said in interviews with two Tunisian newspapers that Turkey was trying to mediate between Syria and Israel. Turkey has close ties to Israel.

The visit comes weeks after Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike in northeastern Syria near the border with Turkey against a target that remains unknown, though widespread reports say it may have been a nascent nuclear facility, a claim Syria has denied.

Turkey complained to Israel about the September 6 strike because the aircraft dropped fuel tanks on its territory during the incursion. Assad has said the planes struck an empty warehouse, but both Syria and Israel have been unusually silent over the incident.

Turkish-Syrian relations have improved in recent years since a long period of animosity ended in 1998 when Damascus forced Turkish Kurd rebel Abdullah Ocalan to leave his long-time safe haven in Syria. Ocalan was subsequently captured in Kenya in 1999 and jailed for life.

Ankara believes it can use the thaw as leverage to help ease Middle East tensions, drawing also on its close ties with both Israel and

the Palestinians.

Turkey’s foreign minister visited both Israel and Syria earlier in October.

“We have told them [the Turks] that our stance toward peace does not change. All we want is a clear declaration by Israeli officials of their desire for peace and the return of [occupied] land to Syria,” the Syrian president said.

Iran, Turkey to Cement Joint Campaign against Terrorism

TEHRAN (FNA)- Ankara will next week host the 12th Iran-Turkey High Security Commission meetings, during which the neighboring countries will look at joint measures to deal with terrorist threats posed by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and the Party for a Free Life in Kurdistan (PJAK).

The latest round of the commission meetings at the undersecretary level was held back in February 2006 in Tehran. The upcoming five-day meeting will kick off on Monday, also marking the first senior-level meeting in the security field between Iranian and Turkish officials following an eight-day ground incursion by the Turkish military into northern Iraq in order to eliminate the PKK members based there, Today’ s Zaman

said.

The eight-member Iranian delegation, led by a deputy interior minister, is expected to arrive in Ankara tomorrow. The Turkish delegation will be led by Interior Ministry Undersecretary Osman Gunes, with senior officials from the police department, the National Intelligence Organization (MIT), the Gendarmerie Command and the Foreign Ministry participating in the meeting.

The Turkish military launched a ground offensive against the PKK in northern Iraq on Feb. 21 and announced that it had destroyed dozens of PKK targets and killed at least 240 terrorists before the operation was called off on Feb.

Turkey carried out several cross-border operations against the PKK after Parliament gave the government authorization in Oc tober for sending troops in

to Iraq to fight the terrorist organization.

The ground incursion in late February was the only confirmed ground

incursion during this period. It was also the first of its kind since the US-led invasion toppled Saddam Hussein’s regime in Iraq in 2003.

Iran is fighting the PJAK, a PKK offshoot operating in Iran.

Tehran has long accused the United States of supporting anti-Iranian armed groups, including the PJAK and Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO). Both PJAK and MKO have been enlisted by the European Union and even the US as terrorist groups.

The PKK is also considered a terrorist organization by a large majority of the international community, including the European Union and the United States.

US officials have repeatedly stressed that Washington considers both the PKK and the PJAK to be terrorist organizations, saying the US would not get involved in any kind of contact or relations with terrorists. But, PJAK and MKO members arrested by Iranian troops have said that the US provides information, weapons and financial supports for

the two terrorist groups.

Off Shore Danger to NW U.S.– W Canada–Juan de Fuca!

There have been swarms of minor to moderate earthquakes along the Juan de Fuca Fault off the Oregon and Washington coasts this week. It is not uncommon, but this h as been

a rather persistent intermittent pattern during the past several months. This earthquake pattern from off the coast of Ferndale, California to Vancouver Island, Canada, could be the herald of a future large earthquake stress release on this fault.

I have tracked the notorious San Andreas Fault, which runs north-northwest just a few miles inside the interior western coastal dry land section of California.

I tracked it off the dry land lying southwest of the Golden Gate Bridge, under the Pacific inlet west of the Bridge, and then picked it up again on dry land northwest of the bridge. Most people are familiar with the great number of large earthquakes that have occurred on dry land in California from this fault, as well as other faults parallel and transverse to it.

However, there is an ever present danger of a tsunami producing earthquake occurring along its continued northern extension on the ocean floor

off the long western coastlines of Oregon, Washington, and

the Canadian Island of Vancouver.

The San Andreas Fault changes its basic form when it leaves the northwestern dry land of California about 35 miles SSW of Eureka to proceed under water off the aforementioned sections of the United States and Canada. Just west of Eureka it changes from a fault of primarily horizontal slippage to the Cascadia Subduction zone, and the slippage along it is as much up and down at about a 45 degree angle into the earth as it is horizontally north and south. The northwestern part of the Juan de Fuca plate is called

the Explorer Plate, which lies off Nootra Island and extends to the Queen Charlotte Islands, and the south part of it is called the South Gorda Plate. The most dangerous part of the Juan de Fuca subduction zone is from west of Crescent City, California to the southern half of Vancouver Island. It subducts along this portion under the lighter continental crust, and melts under the continent to fuel the magma chambers of the long chain of volcanoes from British Columbia through Oregon.

der the Canadian and American continents. The force pushing it eastward against the North American continent is a zone along its western border that is bringing up liquid rock, which forms new crust that forces the plate to move east. There are subterranean miniature volcanoes along the western border of the plate where the magma is pushing up. The following Scriptures indicate that the Juan de Fuca plate will only be a small part of the great horror unleashed by God, during the tribulation period, along the entire length of the thousands of miles of tectonic plate boundaries encircling the globe.

Swarm of Earthquakes Detected off Central Oregon

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Scientists listening to underwater microphones have detected an unusual swarm of earthquakes off central Oregon, something that often happens before a volcanic eruption — except there are no volcanoes in the area.

Scientists don’t know exactly what the earthquakes mean, but they could be the result of molten rock rumbling away from the recognized earthquake faults off Oregon, said Robert Dziak, a geophysicist for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Oregon State University.

There have been more than 600 quakes over the past 10 days in a basin 150 miles southwest of Newport.

The biggest was magnitude 5.4, and two others were more than magnitude 5.0, OSU reported.

On the hydrophones, the quakes sound like low thunder and are unlike anything scientists have heard in 17 years of listening, Dziak said. Some of the quakes have also been detected by earthquake instruments on land.

The hydrophones are left over from a network the Navy used to listen for submarines during the Cold War. They routinely detect passing ships, earthquakes on the ocean bottom and whales calling to one another.

Scientists hope to send out an OSU research ship to take water samples, looking for evidence that sediment has been stirred up and chemicals that would indicate magma is moving up through the Juan de Fuca Plate, Dziak said.

The quakes have not followed the typical pattern of a major shock followed by a series of diminishing aftershocks, and few have been strong enough to be felt on shore.

The Earth’s crust is made up of plates that rest on molten rock, which are rubbing together.

When the molten rock, or magma, erupts through the crust, it creates volcanoes.

That can happen in the middle of a plate. When the plates lurch against each other, they create earthquakes along the edges.

In this case, the Juan de Fuca Plate is a small piece of crust being crushed between the Pacific Plate and North America, Dziak said.

IRAQ MUST BE ONE OF THE TEN!

The political processes in Lebanon and Iraq are now, through the acts of Syria and Iran, preparing Lebanon and Iraq to be two of the “ten” on Daniel’s Chapter 2 Statue and his Chapter 7 Beast.

Iraq – A Biblical Land of Conquerors and Confusion

The post Saddam government’s character and temperament cannot be expected to maintain a personality that manifests a long-term gratitude for Operation Iraqi Freedom. Its history dictates that initial expressions of thanksgiving must slowly, but surely, return to the standard Islamic attitude toward the big devil United States, and the little devil Israel. It will never degenerate to the Saddam regime madness, but Iraq will be among the 10 nations that attacks Israel some three and on-half years before the final battle of Armageddon.

The new civilian government, which will eventually be installed, will have a violent mixture of the intermingled blood of the 12 sons of Ishmael (the first son of Abraham), the six sons of Keturah by Abraham, and the two sons of Lot (Abraham’s nephew). The first post flood population in the Iraq area was ruled by Noah’s great grandson, Nimrod, who the son of Cush, the son of Ham. Asshur, the grandson of Shem, the son of Noah, peopled the northern part.

So, in this area you have the intermingled blood of the descendants of all the aforementioned ancestors. As a matter of fact, the word translated as “mingled” in Daniel 2:43 is “Arab.” The seed of all these ancestors has certainly been “mingled” in the production of offspring, but they have not been able to cleave together continuously except under the control of a very strong leader, and then only for a relatively short period of time. The great Assyrian warrior kings of 800 to 600 B.C., followed by the great Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar, and the famous Kurd Saladin from northern Iraq, who united the mingled tribes to drive the crusaders out of Jerusalem in 1187, have shown that only a strong-willed ruler can unite them, and then only for a specific purpose of conquest, which is invariably followed by a period of empire decay as the cleavage of many different bloodlines crumbles. The coming antichrist will be able to unite them for a while, but in the end they will break apart. He will be like Nimrod in character.

Daniel 11:36 – And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.

I have always taught that I believed the antichrist would come out of Syria (See Prophecy Updates 62,63,64,65,66,67,68, and 69), but I have repeatedly stated that I am only certain he will come out of the old Assyrian empire, which would include Lebanon, extreme southeastern Turkey, and northern Iraq. So I will be watching very carefully to see if someone from northern Iraq becomes the President of Iraq. It will take a really strong, and extremely clever, ruler to unite the Sunni, Shiite, and Kurdish factions across Iraq.

The 10 toes and 10 horns of Daniel are the same 10 horns of John’s first and second beasts. They are not European nations, and the antichrist is not a European. He is the Assyrian of Micah’s fifth chapter, and the 10 toes and 10 horns are basically mingled (Arab) descendants of Abraham, who practice the Islamic faith – a faith that would be the worship of a strange god unknown to Abraham. The division of the vast riches of the Iraqi oil fields among the different ethnic groups within Iraq would most certainly gain him a loyal following among all the Islamic clerics.

Daniel 11:37,38 – Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. [38] But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.

[39] Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.

Daniel 7:24 – And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.

Revelation 17:12,13 – And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. [13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

So, Lord willing, I will be paying very close attention to the interplay between the new Iraqi government, Syria, and Iran. This is going to be a very interesting scenario.

13 killed in Baghdad’s Sadr City

BAGHDAD (AP) Shiite militants fought U.S. and Iraqi forces around Baghdad’s Shiite district of Sadr City early Saturday, despite a call for calm by anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr after the assassination of one of his top aides.

At least 13 Shiite militants died in the clashes, which erupted Friday night and tapered off early Saturday, the U.S. military said. Iraqi police reported seven civilians were killed as a result of the fighting between American and government troops and al-Sadr’s Mahdi Army militia.

Al-Sadr blamed the Americans and their Iraqi allies for Friday’s assassination of Riyadh al-Nouri, the director of the cleric’s office in the Shiite holy city of Najaf. Gunmen ambushed al-Nouri as he was returning home from Friday prayers.

A curfew was declared in Najaf to prevent a violent backlash by al-Sadr supporters, but it was lifted Saturday.

In Sadr City, a U.S. military statement said American soldiers used Abrams main battle tanks and drone-fired Hellfire missiles in support of troops who came under sniper and rocket attack while trying to erect concrete barriers in the area.

Two armored vehicles were damaged by at least 10 roadside bombs that exploded during the operation, but there were no casualties among the U.S. and Iraqi soldiers, the military said.

The U.S. said a total of 13 extremists were killed in the various encounters.

Iraqi police and hospital officials said the seven civilians died in one of the Hellfire missile strikes.

They spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not allowed to release information. The reports could not be independently verified.

Sadr City is the principal stronghold of the Mahdi Army in the Baghdad area.

Government troops supported by the U.S. military have been fighting for nearly two weeks to seal off Sadr City, which has a population of about 2.5 million, after militants there fired rockets and mortars at the U.S.-protected Green Zone and other major targets.

A ban on entering and leaving the district was supposed to have been lifted on Saturday. Eyewitnesses said the blocked-off entrances were briefly opened at 9 a.m., only to be closed again after about 10 minutes. Police later announced that one of the entrances had been opened to motor traffic.

The conflict in Sadr City is part of a major power struggle within the Shiite community ahead of provincial elections expected this fall.

In the southern port of Basra, Iraq’s second largest city, the Iraqi army said it had started carrying out “the second phase of operations” by conducting a sweep of the city’s Qibla district, looking for illegal weapons, ammunition and wanted criminals.

Last month, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki ordered the military to confront Shiite militias and gangs in Basra but the offensive quickly faltered amid fierce resistance.

BAGHDAD — As Shiite militias continue battling with U.S. and Iraqi forces in Baghdad, worried Sunnis are pushing back by forming their own neighborhood militias for protection, several Sunni leaders said Thursday.

The rising tension in mixed neighborhoods of Sunnis and Shiites could lead to a wave of sectarian violence like the one that plunged Iraq into near civil war in 2006, they said.

Many Sunnis have lost faith in the Iraqi security forces after last month’s offensive against Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr’s Mahdi Army militia in the southern city of Basra and parts of Baghdad, said Khaled Jamal al-Qaisi, a Sunni leader in the Fadhil neighborhood.

During those battles, hundreds of Iraqi police and soldiers deserted their posts in solidarity with the Shiite leader’s Mahdi Army.

New satellite imagery exposed a site where Iran was developing long-range ballistic missiles, the Times of London reported Friday.

According to the report, on February 4, Iran announced it had launched a “research rocket” as part of its space program.

Experts have estimated since then, however, that the rocket launch was in fact a field test of Shihab-type ballistic missile.

But four days after the launch another intriguing feature of the test became apparent: analysis of photographs taken by the Digital Globe QuickBird satellite indicated that the launch site of Kavoshgar 1, as the Shihab missile was dubbed by the Iranians, is also the site where Iran is busy developing ballistic missiles with a range of about 6,000 km.

The site, about 230 km southeast of Teheran, was previously unknown and its link with the Iranian weapons program was revealed by Jane’s Intelligence Review after the images were studied by a former Iraq weapons inspector.

Using a space program as a façade for a weapons program was the path chosen by Korea until it declared it had passed

the nuclear weapon threshold.

Geoffrey Forden, a research associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, said that there was a recently constructed building on the site, about 40 meters in length, which was similar in form and size to the Taepodong long-range missile assembly facility in North Korea.

al Johanan said analysis of the Iranian site indicated that Teheran may be about five years away from developing a 6,000 km ballistic missile. This would tie in with American intelligence estimates and underlines why President Bush wants the Polish and Czech components of the US missile defense system to be up and running by 2013.

Missiles with a range of 6,000 km, launched from Teheran’s environs, can hit not only any Middle Eastern countries, but also any target in Europe, including targets in Britain; almost any target in China and Russia,and most of India.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has announced his country has installed 6,000 centrifuges for the purpose of enriching uranium, a process which can be geared towards either a civilian or military program.

He did however continually reject incentives offered by the West in exchange for Iran halting its own enrichment, including a promise that Russia and other countries supply Iran with all the nuclear fuel it needed for peaceful purposes; Iran continues to deny it is trying to develop atomic bombs.

President Shimon Peres had posited several times in the last few months that there was “no logic” in Iren working diligently towards producing long-range ballistic missiles unless it planned to couple such missiles with nuclear warheads.

Lebanese assassination network unveiled

NEW YORK – UN investigators confirmed Tuesday the existence of a network for political assassinations in Lebanon, whose victims included former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri and some of nearly two dozen politicians and journalists killed since 2005.

Hariri was killed on February 15, 2005, by a massive bomb explosion in Beirut because of his opposition to Syrian military intervention in Lebanon.

The explosion killed more than a dozen people. Since then, 22 other Lebanese known for their anti-Syrian views were gunned down.

The independent commission investigating the murders told the UN Security Council in a progress report that it can now confirm “on the basis of evidence that a network of individuals acted in concert to carry out the assassination of Hariri.”

The commission’s top investigator, Daniel Bellemare, said the ”Hariri network” existed before the prime minister was killed and it was linked to some of the subsequent murders.

“While previous reports have referred to the hypothesis of a network, what is new this time is that we now have the evidence of the existence of such a network and of its links,” Bellemare said.

Some council members praised Bellemare’s work as “effective” in making progress in finding those responsible for the murders of Hariri and other Lebanese.

“We note the efficient and determination of commissioner Bellemare to carry out the investigation despite the environment of violence in Lebanon,” said French Ambassador Jean-Maurice Ripert.

Ripert said Bellemare insisted, during closed-door discussion, on keeping the names of individuals in the network confidential.

Bellemare, a former Canadian prosecutor, said the network conducted surveillance of Hariri and operated on the day Hariri was killed. The network continued to operate after that date.

He said the commission of international investigators will now focus on gathering evidence on the network, its scope, identity of all participants and their links with other people outside the network and their role in the murders.

The commission has been asked by the UN Security Council to investigate the 22 murders since 2005 in addition to Hariri’s slaying. Bellemare asked the Security Council to extend his mandate beyond the current June 15 deadline.

The council has also authorized the establishment of a special tribunal on Lebanon to try the murder cases based upon evidence to be submitted by the investigators.

Bellemare said the time between the tribunal’s start-up and the filing of indictments should be as short as possible. The tribunal is situated in The Hague, which houses other ad-hoc tribunals prosecuting genocide in Rwanda and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

He called for justice to be carried out in the murder cases despite the frustration and delay in the lengthy investigative process.

The report echoes a similar finding released late in March to the Security Council, which identified the criminal group as the “Hariri network.”

Daily says Mughniyeh probe will damage Syria

BEIRUT: Syrian authorities have decided to hold the release of the investigations into the murder of Imad Mugniyah, a top Hizbullah operative assassinated in Damascus in February, a London-based pan-Arab newspaper reported on Tuesday. Al-Quds Al-Arabi said Syria had decided to delay the announcement due to an escalation in tensions in both Syria and Lebanon after Israel conducted massive maneuvers near the South Lebanese border. Al-Quds Al-Arabi quoted a diplomatic Syrian source as saying that the announcement may prove “a big embarrassment to Syrian authorities,” as the role of neighboring Arab countries’ intelligence in the assassination would be uncovered. The source was also quoted as saying that the intelligence forces worked “side by side with Israeli intelligence,” adding that Syria, Lebanon and Palestine were also implicated in the assassination. – Agencies

Iran: Syria Arrests Saudi Official Over Mughniyeh Assassination

In a move that could have far reaching consequences, Syria arrested a Saudi official in connection with the assassination of top Hizbullah commander Imad Mughniyeh, Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency reported Tuesday.

A high-ranking defense official in Saudi Arabia’s embassy in Damascus, who was connected to a Syrian woman in whose name the two explosives-laden cars used to kill Mughniyeh were registered, was arrested by Syrian security forces.

An Iranian source said locals with Syrian, Jordanian and Palestinian citizenships executed the operation. The men rented apartments near Mughniyeh’s residence in Damascus and surveyed his activities from there.
