True Democracy Cannot Exist without Separation of Church and State!

I believe in a true Theocracy administered by the only true God, but while I wait for it, the democracy we have in this country is fine. It is fine, in my opinion, because it has separation of church and state, which is something that does not exist in the Islamic religion. Islam cannot produce the fruit of freedom, as in the Biblical parable of the sower.

ithers away. Lebanon and Iraq received it at first with joy, but democracy is now withering away in both countries.

Democracy: fragile seeds that fall on stony ground

Halfway through his eight-nation tour of the Arab world, President Bush delivered yesterday what his hosts had long expected: a call for democracy to flower in the arid political climate of the Middle East.

Three years ago, when he made the drive for democracy in the region the central pillar of US foreign policy for his second term in office, the impact caused political shockwaves among friends and foes in a part of the world where rulers and dictators have long resisted change.

Yesterday the Bush message was far less strident, in large part because the experiment is widely regarded to have failed and the Administration is seen as too weak to apply any meaningful pressure in its dying months in office.

Egypt, the largest and most influential Arab state, was supposed to have been the test bed for America’s experiment. The pressure on the regime of Hosni Mubarak forced the country to loosen restrictions on political opponents and hold multicandidate presidential elections.

The Cairo spring was short-lived.

Mr Mubarak won a fifth term, his chief rival for the presidency languishes in jail, the main Islamist opposition is banned and the authorities have once again stifled political debate.

Saudi Arabia, an absolute monarchy ruled by King Abdullah, never even pretended to buy into the American experiment. It has introduced modest democratic reforms, but change is so sluggish that there is no threat to the existing political establishment, a partnership between the House of Saud and the clergy. One place that Mr Bush wanted to visit was Lebanon. Unique among nations in the region, its street protests in 2005 led to the removal of Syrian troops and the election of a pro-Western government.

However, the dreams of the “Cedar Revolution”, as it was known, have all but evaporated. The country’s infrastructure was devastated during the 2006 war with Israel, which America and Britain supported.

The Government has since been unable to function properly because of blocking tactics from the pro-Syrian opposition and assassinations of key figures, for which Syria is widely blamed.

Democracy has also caused as many problems as it was supposed to solve. The election victory of Hamas, which won Palestinian parliamentary polls in 2006, has divided Palestinians and complicated peace efforts.

Even Iraq, a country that has had more elections and referendums than most Western democracies, still has little to show for it. Until violence is h alted

and real reconciliation can begin between rival sects and ethnic groups, democracy will remain a slogan.

If there is any modest achievement in the region, it lies in the Gulf, where countries such as Kuwait and Bahrain have held multiparty elections and encouraged women to take part.

The terrorist activity coming out of, occurring in, and around the Gaza Strip, will not allow a peace agreement to be finalized with Israel. The perpetrators of this activity must be literally destroyed by a massive sweep through the strip by direct military force. A presence of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Al Qaeda, all the different Terror Brigades and all other terrorist groups must be eliminated, before there can be any possible hope of peace in Israel. And even then, if such a thing were possible, it would be just a matter of time, after the IDF turned it over to Fatah, that all the same terrorist groups of rats would creep back in, and start the same operations they now employ.

The only real difference between the common goal of both Fatah and Hamas, which is to destroy Israel,

is HOW to do it.

Their motive is the same, but their techniques of doing it are different.

So there is only one future scenario which can end in peace – the Second Advent of Jesus Christ, for he is

the only one who can bring peace to Israel and the rest of the world. Since the Scriptures are quite clear that a horrific time of sheer terror, war, and destruction must occur before his Second Advent, I am extremely anxious for it to begin. It absolutely will occur, the only question is precisely WHEN and, while I do admit I guess as to the time, in spans of years, when it will begin, such as 2010 to 2015, I am only certain it will be SOON.

I suppose I deserve the title of “the doom and gloom man,” but I have no choice in the matter. Actually, for those that know me, I am viewed as a happy ole nicumpoop, grandfather, and great-grandfather, one who loves and thoroughly enjoys life.

I have been the pastor of Dardanelle MBC for more than 33 years, which is a loving and patience local body of Christ. So it seems strange that I am so anxious for all Hades to now come roaring on the earth as quickly as possible. The answer as to why I am so anxious is a very simple one.

U.S. Admits Mideast Peace Deal Hangs on Fate of Gaza

A senior U.S. official acknowledged on Saturday that an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal would depend on the fate of Gaza, which is controlled by the Islamist movement Hamas.

The official said the fate of Bush’s targeted peace deal by the end of this year depended on Abbas taking back control of Gaza. “I don’t think in the long term that an agreement is going to work if Hamas continues to control Gaza,” he said.

The official also drew a distinction between any Israeli-Palestinian agreement and its actual implementation. “The parties will have to agree on how they want to structure the agreement, but I think that there have been general thoughts that there will be first a framework and later a comprehensive agreement….This will all play out in quite a period of time.” (AFP/Yahoo)

Olmert: Bush Said No Peace Deal Will Be Implemented Until Violence from Gaza Ends

Prime Minister Olmert reported to the Cabinet Sunday on the visit to Israel of President Bush: “The President…reiterated the U.S.’s absolute commitment that no agreement between us and the Palestinians can be carried out on the ground before the Roadmap is implemented in full, including all of its commitments regarding the security of the State of Israel both in Gaza and in Judea and Samaria. There is no separation between Gaza and Judea and Samaria regarding the Palestinians’ commitments. The U.S. President said that we are discussing the establishment of two states for two peoples and not three states for two peoples.

The emphasis on this is very important.” (Prime Minister’s Office)

Al-Qaeda Militants Ransack Gaza School

Militants from the “Army of Believers, Al-Qaeda in Palestine” ransacked the American International School in northern Gaza, three days after armed men fired anti-tank rockets at the building, causing serious damage. The private school’s director, Rabhi Salem, said Saturday that five buses and a car were set ablaze.

The school, which was also the target of a bomb attack in April 2007, has an enrollment of 150 students.

Gazans Returning from Haj Smuggled In $100 Million for Hamas

Hamas smuggled $100 million into Gaza in recent weeks, Israel Security Agency head Yuval Diskin told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Sunday.

Hundreds of Gazans returning from the haj in Mecca were allowed direct entry via Egypt, contrary to an earlier agreement with Israel, which insisted that they must cross through Israeli-controlled checkpoints.

“The money that was smuggled is not being distributed to the residents, but is being used by Hamas people only,” he said. (Ha’aretz)

Palestinian Groups in Gaza Compete in Announcing Attacks on Israel

Fatah’s armed wing, the Al-Aqsa Brigades, launched a rocket at the Israeli city of Ashkelon, north of Gaza on Sunday.

The military wing of Hamas, the Al-Qassam Brigades, claimed responsibility on Sunday for firing 13 mortar shells.

The Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the military wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, claimed responsibility for launching 10 rockets at Sderot on Saturday.

The military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, the An-Nasser Salah Addin Brigades, claimed responsibility on Friday for launching a rocket at Sderot.

THE ISLAMIC ANTICHRIST OF DANIEL!

An Exposition of DANIEL 11:36-41

DANIEL 11:36 – And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.

The two personages of Daniel 11:36 and 7:25 are one and the same.

Daniel 7:25 – And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to CHANGE TIMES (2166) and LAWS (1882): and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times (5732) and the dividing of time.

THE SAINTS – Daniel is referring to his own people in his day – The Nation of Israel

He will attempt to change the TIMES and LAWS of the nations and the areas he conquers or overruns. He will try to place them under the Islamic “Sharia.” All references, which follow, are from the Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance.

DANIEL 11:37 – Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

The God of his fathers (Noah, Abraham, and Ishmael) was also the God of Noah, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob), until the descendents of Ishmael and Keturah began to worship begin to worship the false gods through idols, as men did before the flood, chief among them being a moon god. Then Mohammad rose and introduced the worship of the one god Allah, whom Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, and the six sons of Abraham by Keturah knew not. So he naturally, being of the Islamic faith, does not regard the God of his fathers. The scripture indicates he will show himself as being a glorified human, in whom all the fullness of Allah himself lives, a man above all gods.

Many writers have chosen to make the Antichrist into a gay man, and it is possible, but I rather doubt that will be the case. The word “desire,” is “chemdah,” which is best understood as “delight.” I believe it means he will have no “delight” in the gender of women, in that he regards them more as a subservient creation, which he commands as the pitiful objects of his will. This refers to the desire of the women, not to his

He will elevate himself to stand by force by the power of Satan to be as a God, whose honor stands in the forces of demonic principalities, and unseen power of Satanic origin. He will prosper in the accumulated riches of the Islamic world.

DANIEL 11:39 – Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.

He will be wise enough to feed the materialistic desires of his fleshly leaders with sub-divisions of power and land in his Caliphate. His god will be a very strange god to the rest of the world it classifies as infidels.

DANIEL 11:40,41 – And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

[41] He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

Hizbullah Secretary-General Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah said Friday that “President Bush will force the Palestinians to give up on the right of return and accept refugees settling in other Arab nations.”

Nasrallah spoke at a rally honoring the Muslin New Year, which was held at the Sayyed Al-Shuhada mosque in Beirut: “The Zionists will take their pick out of the ’67 territories, Jerusalem and the settlement, and will give the Palestinians whatever crumbs they’ll have left over.

“He (US President George W.

Bush) will demand the Lebanese accept reality and acknowledge Israel… that is Bush’s testament, which he feels like he can dictate to us,” said Nasrallah.

Resistance, he continued, is the only way: “We will not emigrate… We will stay on our land, in our cities and villages, even if our homes are destroyed and our soldier captured.

“The only way to deal with the Israeli plan for our region in through resistance… As I have promised you before – we are going from victory to victory, and it shall be ours by blood and will.”

In a televised speech given earlier in the week, on the occasion of the Muslim New Year, the Hizbullah leader spoke at length about Bush’s visit to “occupied Palestine,” saying “Bush arrived here as if he is the defender of freedom and democracy.

“If he goes back 60 years, who started the killings? The Palestinians didn’t do it, and the Jews who lived in Arab states lived peacefully. The ones doing the killing were Zionist gangs.”

Nasrallah also slammed American media outlets and their “pro-American-Zionist allies” for presenting Israel as a symbol of democracy in the region.

His comments were met by chants of “Death to America and to Israel” from the crowd.

Bush, warned Nasrallah, views Israel “as a Jewish state, that is, racist…its existence is premised on race. Israel aspires for a racially pure existence.”

Should Israel choose to attack Lebanon again, he said, “it would suffer a defeat worse than the one bestowed on in the last war (the Second Lebanon War.

Nasrallah met with Muslin clerics last week and assured them he was doing all he could to “prevent the American and Israeli attempts top revoke a war between brothers,” adding that “the American plan could never find success in Lebanon.”

The Scriptures teach that, in the last days of the Gentile Age, an attack will come aga

These terrible days of great tribulation will close by Israel’s deliverance at Messiah’s Second Advent, and she will begin to reign like a life giving shower in the midst of the peoples as their queen. Israel will finally know the rest of peace when her Messiah, by his grace, saves a remnant of her out of tribulation in the wilderness of the Negev, which he prepared as a place for her to live for the final three and one-half years of the Age of the Gentiles.

Zechariah 13:8 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.

Israel’s quiet war

Bedouin lands in south confiscated to make room for more Jewish communities

While Ehud Olmert and Mahmoud Abbas were wheeling and dealing at Annapolis, several Israeli government ministries and security agencies were deploying their combined resources in a massive operation aimed at Israel’s southern Negev Desert.

While the eyes of the world are on the West Bank and Gaza, Israel is in the middle of a campaign to complete the displacement of Palestinian Arabs who are also Israeli citizens.

The indigenous Bedouin are the target, and their lands are required by the state in order to complete the implementation a master plan for the Negev. The plan relegates the Bedouin to ghetto enclaves while allocating huge swathes of territory for Jewish suburban development and agricultural communities. The Negev is the final frontier inside Israel, the last tract of largely undeveloped land in the state. Israel has virtually completed the dismemberment of Palestinian lands in the center and north of the country, and now is consolidating the “Jewish redemption” of the southern desert.

These Bedouin lands are coveted by the Jewish National Fund (JNF) which has published plans to move large numbers of Jews to the Negev. To make way for new JNF communities, the “unrecognized” villages of A-Tir, Um Al-Hiran, and Twail Abu Jarwal were destroyed during 2007 in military-style operations involving large forces of police and soldiers, displacing hundreds of families.

The Interior ministry has also sent airborne crop dusters to poison the Bedouin fields with broad-spectrum herbicides.

The feared Green Patrol, a paramilitary unit of the Ministry of Agriculture, conducts these operations.

There are over 150,000 Bedouin in the Negev desert, with well-established territorial rights dating back to the Ottoman Era. However, immediately after the founding of the state in 1948, the government began to confiscate land and move the Bedouin to ever decreasing areas, while allocating state resources for the development of new Jewish-only towns and agricultural settlements.

Although the Bedouin were eventually granted citizenship of Israel, they were under military rule until 1966.

The cost might be high

Through legislation and various legal mechanisms the state has decreed the Bedouin to be squatters on their own land and thus the courts support the demolition of homes and expulsion of the inhabitants. The JNF, through its “Blueprint Negev” plan, intends to create 25 new towns in the Negev over the coming years, bringing 250,000 new Jewish residents to the region according to its website.

The JNF is also planting forests on Bedouin land, such as the Ambassador Forest on the lands of the Elokbi Tribe north of Be’er Sheva.

Such measures would never be taken against Jewish citizens of Israel, who enjoy the right to live almost anywhere in the country in relative luxury, while the Bedouin are relegated to a pitiful remnant of their patrimony.

a long and proud tradition as a people. During the first decades of the state, they gave allegiance to Israel, sent their sons to the army and expected the respect they deserve. They received none. Instead the state as continued its mission to serve only the interests of Jewish citizens, and as a result few Bedouin serve in the IDF today.

The cost might be high. Bedouin leaders have warned that the anger simmering under the surface may erupt, and Israel may face a Bedouin uprising, an Intifada within the state. Perhaps it’s time for the State of Israel to become a democracy for the benefit of all its citizens, before it’s too late.

Israeli Military up in Arms over Bush-Olmert Plan for Major Operation in Gaza on Behalf of… Palestinian Authority

President George W. Bush gave Israel the nod for it s long

-delayed military operation against Hamas in the Gaza before he ended his 50-hour visit to Jerusalem and Ramallah on Friday, Jan. 11 – except that his provisos stop the Israeli military short of its objectives, namely stamping out the Palestinian missile campaign, halting smuggling and eradicating Hamas military stockpiles, as reported here by DEBKAfile’s military sources:

1. Israeli forces must limit their invasion to two or three strips abutting the Gaza-Israeli border of the 365 sq.

km square Hamas-ruled territory on Israel’s southwestern border. Those sources identify those strips as the northern pocket of Beit Hanoun, Beit Lahiya and the fringes of the Jebalya camp; the southern areas east of Khan Younes up to the Sufa and Kerem Shalom crossings; and sections of the Philadelphi border strip with Egypt, up to and excluding the Mediterranean coast.

Operationally, this means the Israeli army may push back

the Qassam missile launching sites

from the border and distance this harassment from the Israeli population, but may not destroy terrorist arms and missile caches and their means of production.

Israel is also enabled to deal only partially with the smuggling system for the weapons, explosives, fighters and cash, which nourish the Gaza Strip’s Palestinian terrorist groups through Sinai.

2. The IDF must operate only in sparsely-populated areas and desist from actions that may cause extensive Palest

inian civilian casualties.

3. The IDF will not capture the main cities, e.g. Gaza City, Rafah and Khan Younes.

4. After clearing captured areas of Hamas, Jihad Islami and other Palestinian terrorists, the Israeli army must pull out and hand the cleansed territory to the forces of the Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

Israel must enable the passage of those forces from the West Bank to the Gaza Strip and allow them to establish military bases for launching their offensives to recapture the entire Gaza Strip, thereby reversing Hamas’ success in forcing their retreat six months ago.

Point 4 was tagged onto the list during the US president’s talks with Abbas in Ramallah Thursday, Jan.

The Palestinian leader proposed that Bush’s assent to an Israel counter-terror operation in the Gaza Strip be exploited for the IDF to prepare the ground for his Fatah-ruled Palestinian Authority to regain its control of the lost territory.

It was agreed between Bush, Abbas and Olmert, that the details of this plan be worked out after the US president returns home at the end of his Middle East tour.

The Bush-Olmert understanding entrusted defense minister Ehud Barak with leading and charting the Gaza operation, determining its timeline and being responsible to Washington for the IDF not stepping out of the above preset boundaries.

It will also be up to Barak to decide whether to pursue the objective in phased offensives.

DEBKAfile’s military sources report that the Olmert government’s acceptance of this plan has stirred outrage in the IDF high command, general staff, southern command and the security establishment.

For the first time in its 60 years of independence, Israel’s national army is being pressed into service to capture a territory on behalf of a foreign entity. They ask by what authority did the prime minister and defense minister sign off on a plan which is an immoral distortion of the IDF’ s long

standing mission.

The notion that members of Israel’s people’s army, which is duty bound to defend the state, may be ordered to fight and lay down

their lives in the service of the Palestinian Authority, presents every serviceman with an irreconcilable dilemma.

It might be easier if they were permitted to eradicate the Palestinian missile threat and war machine, stock, lock and barrel. But this is ruled out by Bush.

The IDF found it difficult enough to recover its equilibrium from the political task to forcibly evict Jewish communities from the Gaza Strip foisted on it by the Sharon-Olmert-Livni government in 2005. Today, Israeli policy-makers, the United States and the Palestinian Authority are contemplating saddling the soldiers with another political undertaking: to turn around the Fatah’s defeat in its internecine war with Hamas.

Israeli generals and security chiefs caution the government against accepting this perilous and self-destructive adventure and point to its glaring flaws.

Its very conception has distorted the peace process so that the burden of its success rests on the IDF’s shoulders. If a military campaign succeeds in gaining control of parts of Gaza on behalf of the Palestinian Authority, peace talks will resume with Abbas’ standing much enhanced. But if the results are mixed, like in the 2006 Lebanon War under Olmert’s direction, the Palestinian leader will drop Israel and the United States like hot coals, turn coat and seek an understanding with Hamas for a re-united front against Israel.

Already, since the plan was floated, Israel-Palestinian talks have petered out and become irrelevant, while negotiations for the release of the kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilead Shalit have been put on ice. Hamas will on no account discuss terms for his release with a large-scale Israeli offensive hanging over Gaza.

Another of the plan’s fundamental flaws is that the Palestinian Authority is in effect leaderless, rudderless and is bereft of the professional security strength for following up on the deal.

The Bush-Olmert-Abbas plan would have the Israeli military pull their irons out of the fire when it is common knowledge that once inside Gaza, PA security forces will quickly disintegrate and be swallowed up by the far more resolute Hamas. It was therefore proposed in Bush’s talks in Ramallah and Jerusalem that the Israeli Air Force and artillery provide support for the Palestinian takeover of the Gaza Strip, a tactic the US army employs for local forces in Iraq.

For the Israeli Defense Forces, this proposal is totally unacceptable.

For one thing, the Palestinian Authority’s security services are riddled with wanted terrorists.

Furthermore, Abbas and his elite officials are not considered representative by the bulk of the Palestinian people (who in Jan. 2006 voted Hamas into office). Neither are they trusted to execute complicated strategies.

Finally, the Bush-Olmert policy of placing all their bets for a Middle East breakthrough on the inept Mahmoud Abbas condemns their plan to failure.

At the dinner Olmert hosted in honor of the US president Thursday night, several ministers pointed out these hard facts to Bush and told him bluntly that he is gambling all his hopes for peace on a non-existent entity called the Palestinian Authority.

The US president answered: “I agree. That really is a problem.”
