Like a broken record, the Palestinians sing the old Rita Heyworth song, “Put the Blame on Maime,” every time Israel retaliates when terrorists lob deadly missiles on Israeli civilians.

They expect Israel to do nothing while terrorists bombard innocent women and children with Katyusha and Kassam rockets on a daily basis.

Unfortunately, there is only one way to get the rocket barrages to stop – by making the retaliation worse that the rocket launch, and if that does not work, nothing will. If Israel keeps turning up the heat on all the terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip every time a rocket is launched, it can lead to a truce – nothing else will!

Israel Retaliates, Bombs Gaza Three Times

(IsraelNN.com) The rocket war in and around Gaza is heating up. The Israel Air Force bombed Gaza three times on Thursday afternoon in retaliation for a Katyusha rocket that landed further north than any rocket ever fired from Gaza.

Shortly afterwards, a Kassam rocket attack from Gaza injured a Sderot woman hanging laundry.

An Iranian-supplied Katyusha rocket fired around 11 AM on Thursday by Islamic Jihad terrorists in Gaza towards Ashkelon landed further north than ever before – 16.5 kilometers (10 miles) from Gaza. No one was hurt

in the attack, though the missile landed only some 50 meters (55 yards) from a residenti

al neighborhood.

The IDF retaliated for the attack nearly four hours later by air-bombing several terrorist targets in Gaza City, including the home of an Islamic Jihad terrorist who was killed in a similar attack last week. The terrorist, Muhammad Dahduh, had been considered the mastermind of Kassam rocket production in Gaza. His now-destroyed home was empty at the time of today’s attack, though nine passersby were reported injured by the bomb.

Eight Palestinian terrorists were killed in clashes with Israeli forces throughout the day; the last one was in the midst of trying to fire anti-rocket rockets when he was killed. Seven other Kassam rockets and mortar shells were fired from Gaza this morning; no one was hurt.

Miracle in Sderot

Shortly afterwards, a round of between two and five Kassam rockets was fired from Gaza, with one of them landing in the yard of a residential home in Sderot. A woman who had been hanging laundry there ran for cover when she heard the Color Red early warning alarm, and the rocket fell just several feet from the laundry lines.

The woman, and several other Sderot residents, were evacuated to a hospital and were treated for shock.

The Katyusha fired at Ashkelon, a Grad model 122 millimeters (nearly 5 inches) in diameter, was the fifth such rocket fired in recent years towards Ashkelon.

PA Blames Israel

The Palestinian Authority retaliated for Israel’s retaliati on not

only with Kassams, but also on the international media stage.

Nabil Abu Rudeineh, a spokesman for PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas, asserted that Israel’s counter-terrorism operations were “a bloody Israeli message in which Israel shirks itself [sic] of any commitment.” Rudeineh also accused Israel of “killing the spirit of the Annapolis conference.”

The Vatican is planning a spring meeting with 138 Muslim scholars to develop their common belief in one God.

James 2:19 – Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

The Vatican will be pro-Islam when the final war between Islam and Israel occurs and, as such, will ride on the back of the Islamic beast.

Revelation 17:3 – So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

The woman will not participate physically in the war but will support Islam as being

the more justified in its part

in the war.

After Islam has established a Caliphate from Morocco to India, the woman will regret the Pope’s decision. Her churches across this vast area will all be burned to the ground by the Islamic beast.

VATICAN CITY – A meeting between Catholics and Muslims is planned in Rome this spring to start a dialogue between the faiths after relations were soured by Pope Benedict XVI’ s 2006 comment

s about Islam and holy war, Vatican officials said.

Benedict proposed the encounter as his official response to an open letter addressed to him and other Christian leaders in October by 138 Muslim scholars from around the world. The letter urged Christians and Muslims to develop their common ground of belief in one God.

The head of the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, told the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano over the weekend that three representatives of

the scholars would come to Rome in February or March to prepare for the meeting. He did not give a date for the meeting, other than say it would take place in the spring.

The agenda, he said, would cover three main topics: respect for the dignity of each pers on, interreligious dialogue based

on reciprocal understanding, and instruction of tolerance among the young.

“The meeting with a delegation of some of the 138 Muslims, planned for Rome next spring, is in a certain sense historic,” Tauran was quoted by L’Osservatore as saying.

Benedict angered Muslims with a speech in September 2006 in Germany in which he cited a Medieval text that characterized some of the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad as “evil and inhuman,” particularly “his command to spread by the sword the faith.”

The pope later said he was “deeply sorry” over the reactions to his remarks and that they did not reflect his own opinions. The Vatican has been working ever since to improve relations with moderate Muslims.

Micah 5:5,6 – And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men. [6] And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

I have established, in previous updates, that “this man” of verse 5 is “the peace” himself because he ends the earthly reign of “the Assyrian” at the battle of Armageddon, and then brings in “the peace” that lasts for 1000 years

on this present planet. It is only Jesus Christ himself who has the power to bring such a thing to pass.

I believe verse 6 to be one of the most interesting verses in the Scriptures that have yet to be fulfilled.

Why am I so certain it has never been fulfilled? Because Israel has not wasted the land of Assyria with the sword, or the

land of Nimrod in its entrances thereof, since Micah wrote these prophecies! At the time he wrote the borders of the expanding Assyrian Empire covered all of modern day Israel north of Ramallah, all of modern Syria, all of modern Lebanon, and all of modern Iraq north of Baghdad. The historical settling of this area between the Euphrates and Tigris rivers after the flood

in Noah’s day is of great value in the interpretation of Micah 5:6.

Genesis 10:1,6,8,22 – Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood. [6] And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan. [8] And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. [22] The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.

Assyria apparently derived its name from Asshur, the son of Shem. Later in time Asshur was worshipped as the chief God of the Assyrians.

Asshur went into the northern area of the fertile plain lying between the Euphrates and Tigris rivers, and his descendants that settled it were eventually called Assyrians. It is certain that Israel never wasted this area. Nimrod was the grandson of Ham through Cush. He founded a great kingdom between the Euphrates and Tigris rivers, south of the area of Asshur’s descendants, that extended south to the Persian Gulf. The “entrances” into it from the east, which is the direction the Israelis would come to “waste” it, were the shallow sections of the Euphrates River that could be waded to gain entrance. The Euphrates was, and is, perhaps the greatest carrier of top water silt on this planet.

The rapid descent gradient of its waters in the steep mountains of Turkey was able to sustain an enormous quantity of erosion debris cut off the mountain slopes, but when the water came onto the flat plains of modern day Iraq its speed was abruptly lowered, and the silt deposition rapidly built up lees across the Euphrates, making it possible for some areas to be waded. The long series of dams currently stretching from Turkey, through Syria, and into Iraq have helped to regulate the flow and silt deposition of the Euphrates, but at the time of Micah’s writings there would have been a plurality of wading entrances into the land of Nimrod across the Euphrates.

Now, why have I gone into such detail as to the locations of Assyria and the land of Nimrod? Because when Israel comes up out of the Negev at the battle of Armageddon, after having been confined there by the Assyrian for 1260 days, it will conquer a specified amount of territory to its north and east.

Revelation 12:6 – And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Malachi 4:1 – For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Zechariah 12:6-9 – In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.

[7] The Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah. After Christ has himself, by himself, defeated the Assyrian at the battle of Armageddon to bring in “the peace” of a thousand years, then Israel will roar north out of the Negev to mop up what is left of a demoralized army that is fleeing north. Israel will take Jerusalem back, then drive north, northeast, and east, to claim all the land west of the Euphrates River.

Isaiah 66:15,16 – For, behold, the Lord will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. [16] For by fire and by his sword will the Lord plead with all flesh: and the slain of the Lord shall be many.

The Poster That Awaits US President Bush in Jerusalem

(IsraelNN.com) In the upcoming days, billboards all over Jerusalem will be plastered with a new poster on the eve of U.S. President Bush’s visit to Israel. Pictured in the poster is a gigantic Bible, towering over the walls of the Old City.

The caption says: “Bush, read your Bible.

God gave Israel to the Jews.”

Tzvi Fishman, of the Am K’Lavee organization, and an Arutz 7 blogger, says “The poster is designed to refocus Israel’s opposition to further withdrawals back to our Divine claim to the Land of Israel, as documented again and again in the Bible.”

Am K’Lavee organizes the annual mass parade to the Kotel on Jerusalem Day, which is attended by tens of thousands. It is joining a broad spectrum of grassroots organizations that are planning protests during Bush’s three-day visit to Jerusalem.%ad%

“The Biblical claim of the Jewish People to the Land of Israel was recognized by the British in the Balfour Declaration of 1917, which called for the establishment of a Jewish State in Palestine,” Fishman states. “The British believed in the Bible and what was written in it, and that was what guided Lord Balfour in winning the support of the British Parliament.

“America also believes in the Bible,” Fishman says, “and therefore, it is totally unreasonable that America and its G-d-fearing President should act against the Bible, the pillar of Christian belief.” Through the poster, Fishman is embarking to remind President Bush that God’s plan for the world supersedes his

plan.

How to conduct its public relations campaign has long been a matter of debate among Jewish leaders in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza (Yesha). Am K’Lavee has chosen what they call “the irrefutable argument.” Fishman explains:

“I remember the day some twenty years ago when the leaders of the settlement movement decided that they weren’t going to speak any more about G-d’s gift of the Land of Israel to our forefather, Abraham. Instead they decided to base the importance of settling Judea and Samaria on practical military and Zionistic reasons. The trouble with this strategy is that when you bring a big general to warn the public about the dangers of surrendering portions of Yesha to the enemy, the political Left parades out their line-up of big generals who say the very opposite. That’s what happened with the 2005 Disengagement Plan.

“People thought they could trust the famous military hero, Sharon, when he assured the nation that there was no security risk in evacuating the Jewish towns of Gush Katif. The military question can be argued this way and that, but our Biblical claim to the Land is irrefutable. Bush, America, Europe, and all the Christian world have to be reminded that in pressuring us to give up

the Jewish towns of Yesha and divide Jerusalem, they are going against the Bible and G-d.

Fishman says that Bible lovers all over the world have to join the fight to save the Holy Land. “It’s not just about saving the Jewish villages of Yesha and safeguarding the unity of Jerusalem, but also preventing the wanton destruction of shrines and churches sacred to their religions as well,” he argues.

“It isn’t enough that this poster fills the streets of Jerusalem,” Fishman asserts. “It has to be circulated all over the Internet, on every Christian, Baptist, Evangelist, Catholic, and Jewish site.

A vast part of the world still believes in the Bible, and if these hundreds of millions say no to the ‘Road Map’ and email the poster to the White House, they can help us save our Holy City and prevent the Holy Land from turning into a haven for Islamic terror.”

Am K’Lavee invites activists to email the organization to receive a hi-rez version of the poster for distribution.

THE FINAL PROPHECY IS NOW IN PLACE!

What a wonderful way to start the New Year! I love it! The prophecies of the great end time chaos could not be more clearly fulfilled than by what has been written in the accompanying article from THE TIMES ON LINE. I am not being sarcastic! I read it with great joy, knowing it meant all the Bible prophecy writer bashing of the ages would soon end. The Bible bashing will cease by a fulfillment of the very prophecy the writers themselves, for some sixty years, have been eloquently fulfilling in a never ending ocean of prophecy ridicule. THE TIMES article is a classic of classics in ridiculing the warnings

of prophetic doom which is to come on the earth. The great thing about it is that the vast majority of the world’s population completely agrees with it.

This had to be the case j ust

before Christ’s Second Advent, and lets me rejoice in knowing He will soon be standing on the earth.

Please do not believe the tone, expressed in the preceding paragraph, is one of great joy in knowing those, who agree the prophesied chaos of Revelation is a myth, are going to be suddenly surprised when a time of unexpected abrupt, and continuing, terror comes on them.. I am not a person who is going to experience joy at seeing the ridiculers get paid back for it – Not at all!

I am bathing in joy only because the article from THE TIMES is a precise overlay of the exact position most of the world’s population was to openly express just before Christ’s Second Advent.

II Peter 3:3-9 – Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, [4] And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. Apocalypse? Mmm, bring it on

To atone for our mistakes — wars, global warming, whatever – we subconsciously long for catastrophic punishment

“Look!” says the angel, “he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be!”

The Book of Revelation is the ultimate I-told-you-so. There is no mistaking the scale of the horrors to come, or the foreboding with which they are prophesied. But no mistaking, either, the relish. Wow! Here comes the mother of all disaster movies.

The reason for the relish is partly obvious: humans find accidents fascinating: the bigger the spill, the bigger the thrill. Something else, however, lends to the Apocalypse a spice absent from even the most cosmic of motorway pile-ups: a sense of justice.

Mankind, we are told, has brought this upon itself. After hubris will come nemesis. As we sowed, so shall we reap. Our chickens are coming home to roost, or sins returning to haunt us. How awful. How delicious.

I cannot read the baleful commentary from the yellowing pages of the old year’s archive, nor the lip-snacking surprise with which the wholly unsurprising assassination of Benazir Bhutto is being discussed this weekend, nor the predictions of cataclysm in Pakistan (or Afghanistan, or the Middle East) looming in the year ahead, without noticing something. In the air is an unmistakable hint of apocalypse. As 2007 closes there is almost an appetite for the prospect that dreadful and definitive events will occur and show us the error of our ways. How awful. How delicious.

Take Iraq, Afghanistan and the War on Terror. It is not the hawks, neocons and hardliners alone who half-will a strike by the forces of evil so horrific in scale as to be a knockdown vindication of what they said all along. Many of the antiwar brigade, too — we who from the start have railed against the occupation of Iraq — have in our secret hearts suppressed a twinge of disappointment that the surge of US troop reinforcements in Baghdad has been accompanied by a reduction in civil atrocities. We kind of thought — did we? — that the whole place was going to go up in one enormous explosion, leaving almost everybody dead, and settling the argument finally in our favour?

The truth is less theatrical: that post-Saddamite Iraq was a nest of unresolved schisms, uncorrected imbalances and unrequited injuries from which America and Britain would have been more sensible to stand aside, leaving the principal combatants to scrap until they had tested and exhausted each other, and were ready to deal, as now they may be.

Instead we waded in, looked like international bullies, and got caught in the crossfire. We lost much money and many lives to no advantage while helping to launch the al-Qaeda brand.

But never mind. 2008 should be quieter in Baghdad, Iran could sort out al-Qaeda, hostilities will sputter on in Afghanistan where neither side can win, Pakistan will keep a useful military dictatorship either centre stage or in the wings, Tony Blair will not resolve the Arab-Israeli dispute, Gaza will languish, the world will not learn to love the Israelis, a new American presidency will execute no U-turns but exercise a little more care on the road, the Russians will be pugnacious but draw short of conflict, Africa will rot and Latin America stumble around, China will belch, steam and rumble, Australia will agonize, and the Earth will continue fairly disgracefully and a little unsteadily in its orbit.

And never quite deserting us is a craving for justice as we fitfully think we see it, and a wish that events — wars, bombs, plagues, God, the weather, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, whatever — will somehow visit judgment upon us, somehow resolve things; and say for good who was wrong and who was right.

“The angel swung his sickle on the earth, gathered its grapes and threw them into the great winepress of God’s wrath. They were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed out of the press and as high as the horses’ bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia.” Striking, isn’t it, how Revelation wants to get the detailed measurements right

Will global warming, as predicted in detail by what the politicians call The Science, raise sea levels as high as the horses’ bridles? For this, too, is (I sense) part of the hunger for apocalypse that characterizes our generation. Tens of thousands of the elite of politics, the media and the universities, and hundreds of millions of Western citizens vaguely uncomfortable about the way we live now would actually be a tiny bit disappointed if planetary temperatures started to drop. This doesn’t mean global warming isn’t true, but shows that maybe we want it to be true for reasons not of the head but of the heart and conscience. A dangerous background for the development of scientific reasoning.

Unease about the way we live now lies at the centre, too, of that most ghoulish modern yearning: a secret desire for an economic crash.

I swear I’m not imagining this. Many who have much to lose from tumbling house prices still cannot suppress a tingling sense of rectitude when we hear figures suggesting a drop. We British look at the national debt (appalling); we look at the balance of payments (horrific); we look at personal indebtedness (shocking); we see the steady demise of industry, and the growing legions working in services, marketing, the media and PR; and we feel that it’s somehow all wrong.

Nobody makes anything any more. We read Anatole Kaletsky and half understand his explanations of how everything’s going to be all right… and yet… surely we don’t deserve to be this rich? Shall we not be punished for it?

I have not lived long enough to have much sense of whether apocalypticism is a perennial human condition, but seem to remember my boyhood as a time when we thought the human race was improving morally, and the future was good.

Half a century later do we really feel that now? I think we think we’re in a story where something awful happens in the final chapter, we don’t entirely want to avert it, we haven’t quite reached it yet, but we feel the faint approaching rumble of the hooves beneath the Four Horsemen. Conquest, Murder, Economic Inequity and Pestilence, the Bible seems to suggest. “US Imperialism, Terrorism, Property Crash, Global Warming,” we think.

Patent nonsense. Potent nonsense. One day perhaps there will be a really big bang — everybody dead. But this almost by definition will come when least expected, and probably not in 2008.

GSS: Gaza Has Become a Terrorism Base Camp

(IsraelNN.com) A year-end report by the General Security Services (GSS; Shabak) states that the Gaza region has become the leading source of anti-Israel terrorism in recent years. This includes rocket and mortar attacks by Gaza-based Palestinian Authority terrorists and the export of terrorist know-how and funds to the PA in Judea and Samaria.

1,200 Rocket and Mortar Attacks

PA terrorists in Gaza launched more than 1,200 rockets at Israeli targets in 2007, the Shabak reported. Of those, 800 struck inside pre-1967 Israel. Two people were killed and 300 injured in the PA attacks. Most of the lightly injured victims suffered from shock.

According to the report, enemy rocket cells regularly launch

their attacks on Jewish targets from within crowded urban areas in Gaza.

In many cases, the terrorists launch rockets near to, or even from the roofs of, local homes, as well

as from PA schoolyards.

The Spread of PA Terrorist Know-How

The Shabak report reveals that the PA terrorist organizations in Gaza are transferring know-how and funding to PA terrorists operating in Judea and Samaria. Gaza terror-masters are teaching Arab terrorists in Judea and Samaria about how to improve weapons production, including the production of rockets and mortars. In addition, the Gaza-based terrorists are offering guidance and instructions for continued anti-Israel attacks and other activity, as well as cash for funding such activities.

“During the past year, the Gaza Strip has become the main terrorism ‘producers’ according to all parameters,” the Shabak report says.

On the other hand, the report explains that, despite the Hamas takeover of Gaza in 2007, there has been a drop this year in the number of suicide bombings attempted by PA terrorists. This represents a continuation of a multi-year trend of progressively fewer suicide bombings. There was not a single suicide bombing that had its source in the PA in Judea or Samaria, for example; however, at least three suicide bombings originating with terror organizations in Judea and Samaria were foiled in 2007, according to Shabak statistics. In 2006, in contrast, PA terrorists in Judea and Samaria carried out three successful suicide bombings against Israeli targets.

The single successful suicide bombing attack in 2007 came from Gaza. The attacker, who killed three people in Eilat in January, was sent by Islamic Jihad and the Fatah organization’s Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.

A different type of attack by PA Arabs saw a revival in 2007, according to the Shabak report, with increased rock-throwing and firebombing targeting Israeli vehicles on the roads of Judea and Samaria. Furthermore, the Shabak notes, such rock attacks spread into pre-1967 Israel as well. Hostile elements among Israeli Arabs targeted cars on Route 443, connecting Jerusalem and Modiin, with rocks and firebombs, and rock-throwing incidents were also registered in the north and south of the country.

Coordinated Counter-Terrorism Efforts

The drop in major attacks targeting Israelis in 2007 was due to the joint counter-terrorism activities of the Shabak, the IDF and the police, according to the Shabak report.

“In the Judea and Samaria region, despite the fact that there was no drop in motivation, there was a drop in the volume of terrorism, primarily as a result of Israeli preventative actions,” the report says, adding that it was the “policy of intensive ongoing preventative actions by the GSS, the IDF and the police that brought about a consistent and continuous decrease in the number of terrorist attacks….”

One preventative measure left unmentioned in the Shabak report is the separation barrier cutting through Judea and Samaria. While touted as a counter-terrorism tool, the report does not even mention the barrier as a contributing factor in the steady drop in terrorist attacks in pre-1967 Israel.

While it cites the security services success in lowering the threat of terrorism overall, the Shabak report makes it clear that PA terrorists continued to make great efforts to attack Jews and Israelis in 2007. By October, nearly 4,000 Arab terrorists from Judea and Samaria were captured by Israeli forces, 117 of them potential suicide bombers. In comparison, in 2006, 5,000 terrorists were arrested, of whom 279 were determined to be potential suicide bom

bers.

Hizbullah, Bin-Laden and Syria in the Terror Matrix

Aside from homegrown PA terrorism, the Shabak report also notes the influence of the Lebanese Hizbullah in Judea, Samaria and Gaza. Since 2004, the Hizbullah has invested 10 million dollars every year on encouraging anti-Israel terror activities in the PA. Based on information obtained from captured terrorists, the Hizbullah promotes quantity over quality in attacks on Israel, with monetary reward being the main driver for those groups supported by the Hizbullah.

In a related development, Al-Qaeda’s chief terrorist and leader Osama Bin-Laden recently issued a direct threat against Israel. A new audio cassette, the fifth one issued by the

Al-Qaeda international terrorist organization this year, tells the Arabs of Judea, Samaria and Gaza that they need not be concerned. “I have not forgotten your struggle,” Bin-Laden is heard saying, “and we plan to expand our jihad [holy war] to Palestine as well. We intend to liberate all of Palestine, from the [Jordan] river to the [Mediterranean] sea.”

Another Al-Qaeda affiliate organization, Fatah Al-Islam, is reported to have established a beachhead in Gaza. The group recently claimed responsibility for firing a rocket at Sderot. Based primarily in Lebanese refugee camps and established by the Syrian intelligence agency, Fatah al-Islam waged a bloody battle against the Lebanese army in northern Lebanon earlier this year. %ad%

Finally, adding its internal terror to the mix, a new Muslim fundamentalist group calling itself Supporters of Islamic Law (SIL) has sprung up in Gaza. The group has threatened any residents of Gaza who might attempt to celebrate the secular New Year on Monday night. SIL warned residents of Gaza to stay in their homes, saying it would choose a time and place to punish “those who are destroying Islamic society” by celebrating secular holidays.

The group is not the first to threaten activities seen as un-Islamic in Gaza. Earlier in the year, a similar group bombed dozens of Internet cafes, and an extremist group attacked a United Nations elementary school due to rumors that Muslim boys and girls were participating in a joint sporting event.
