MISSILES, EVERYWHERE!
A Conventional War will include wide-scale, concentrated, long-lasting Barrages of Missiles against virtually all the Major Cities and Military Installations in Israel.

The forecast scenario presented by Major General Yaakov Amidror to the Israel Missile Defense Association is anything but optimistic. His statements in the Haaretz article which follows, in comparing it to the missile, rocket, and artillery firepower of previous wars and conflicts, is indicative of surprise being experience by veterans of these encounters.

In the Next War, Expect Missile Attacks
Amos Harel
November 9, 2007
The forecast presented by Maj.-Gen. (res.) Yaakov Amidror at last month’s meeting of the Israel Missile Defense Association was quite worrisome.
Amidror, the former head of the research department in the Israel Defense Forces’ intelligence branch, predicted that if, in the future, Israel gets into a war with the conventional army of a neighboring country (Syria is the most likely opponent), the missile and rocket threat the country will face in such a situation will make the Second Lebanon War look like child’s play. This time, the threat to population centers on
the home front would not end, as in the war of the summer of 2006, at the Afula-Hadera line, but would cover most of the country.
At the same time, Syria and Hizbullah are expected to use artillery, rockets
and missiles against the forces at the front and military targets located toward the rear – from headquarters and army bases to areas where reserve units have been mobilized.
“We’ve never had a war in which the IDF was so threatened by fire on its permanent bases,” said Amidror. “In two hours, a Syrian rocket battalion could produce more fire than everything we took from Hizbullah in the entire war.”
Is Israel capable of deterring its hostile neighbors from launching a missile attack on its territory? After Lebanon, the conventional w isdom in Israel says the answer
is no. With encouragement and funding from Iran, a comprehensive threat to the Israeli home front has begun to take shape: From the north (Syria and Lebanon) and from the southwest (Gaza), with the only real deterrent to rocket fire from the east (the West Bank) being intensive IDF and Shin Bet security service activity against the terror networks
there.
About two months ago, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi presented the IDF’s new multi-year plan. Its major emphases include the importance of achieving a rapid victory and the need to significantly upgrade the ground forces.
On several occasions, Ashkenazi has said that in case of war, one of his main objectives would be that, at the end, “no one will ask who won, because it will be obvious that we won.” (Ha’aretz)

THE IDF SANDWICHED BETWEEN TWO HEELS!
An Army in the North and an Army in the South!

The three articles which follow give an outline of the threats flowing via the Hamas Army in the Gaza Strip, the Hizbullah Army in Southern Lebanon, and the Israeli Army sandwiched between the two.
THE NOVEMBER 26 ANNAPOLIS PEACE CONFERENCE
Over the last several weeks I have read glowing reports of expectations on the optimist side of great enthusiasm, and others of deep depression which say nothing even faintly resembling Middle East peace will come out of it. Being born a natural pessimist by my genes, as well as by long experience in Middle East peace attempts, I don’t expect much to come out of it and, if I am wrong, then I assure you, it will be a false peace, not a true one.

IDF Reservists: Hamas Fights Like an Army
Amos Harel
(Ha’aretz)
November 8, 2007
After a month of reserve duty in Gaza, an IDF paratroop officer told Ha’aretz: “On the professional level, Hamas in the Gaza Strip is nothing like the terrorists we dealt with before.”
“In all parameters – training, equipment quality, operational discipline – we are facing an army, not gangs,” he said.
Within two weeks, his unit engaged in three live-fire incidents with Hamas. In one encounter with a Hamas cell west of Khan Yunis, two Hamas men died in a brief, close-range battle.
“The fingerprints of Iran and Hizbullah are all over it,” a veteran intelligence officer said.
“The Palestinians never looked like this.”
On the bodies of the Hamas fighters the reservists found, in addition to their weapons, night-vision equipment identical to the IDF’s.

Hamas: Terrible surprises await IDF should they invade Gaza
JPost.com Staff, THE JERUSALEM POST
November 9, 2007
Many terrible surprises await the IDF should Israel launch a wide-scale operation in the Gaza Strip, a spokesperson for Hamas’s military wing warned on Saturday.
In an interview with an Israeli-Arab weekly which was quoted on Army Radio, the spokesperson said that Hamas was eagerly awaiting the incursion, and that the group had yet to take advantage of the full array of their arsenal.
Speaking about the fate of kidnapped IDF soldier Cpl. Gilad Schalit, the spokesperson assured that Hamas has no intention of harming the captive, even if Israel invades the Strip.
He added that the group would not offer any more information about the condition of Schalit until Israel answers their demands for a prisoner release.
Meanwhile, the London-based Al-Quds Al-Arabi reported on Friday that Israel had informed PA authorities in Ramallah of its intention to send the IDF into the Gaza Strip in order to regain control of the Philadelphi Corridor and put an end to Hamas smuggling of weapons and cash through tunnels from the Egyptian side of the border.
According to the report, Israel told a number of Arab states that after the November 26 Annapolis peace parley it intends to embark on an extensive operation in the Strip.
Palestinian sources received explicit information stating that during the projected first stage of the operation, Israel is determined to gain control of Rafah and areas along the Egyptian border ranging as far as Khan Yunis, the paper said. The second stage will reportedly include an incursion into the central and northern Gaza Strip.
According to Al-Quds Al-Arabi’s sources, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who rejected out of hand Israel’s plan to recapture the Philadelphi Corridor, intends to send emissaries to regional countries in an effort to convey the sense of urgency regarding the danger of an Israeli incursion.
Abbas, the paper said, will state that an Israeli incursion would destroy the Gaza Strip and its infrastructure.

Hizbullah: We’re preparing for upcoming war
Deputy of militant Shiite organization says Hizbullah training for future conflicts, just recently conducted major maneuver; Nasrallah’s right-hand-man claims UNIFIL forces aware of drill
By Ali Waked
November 8, 2007
Naim Kassem, Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah’s deputy, described a training exercise the group conducted at the beginning of this week as preparation for the next war with Israel.
In an interview with the Arab-Israeli paper Sawt el-Balad published Thursday, Kassem said that the Shiite organization’s weapons arsenal can hit all parts of Israel. He described the maneuvers as “enormous and important and they were carried out as part of our deployment so that we won’t be caught by surprise.
“Our exercise was unrestricted and was meant to cover all of the territory of the Israeli entity and not simply to strengthen our companies,” he stated.
Kassem added that UNIFIL forces detected the increased Hizbullah activity but, since no militants were carrying weapons, he claimed
they were acting in accordance with UN Security Resolution 1701.
“The drill was part of our obligation to make our presence and readiness known and (to show) that we act how we deem necessary,” Hizbullah’s number two said.
Nasrallah supervision
On Monday, the Lebanese newspaper Al Akhbar reported that Hizbullah General-Secretary Hassan Nasrallah himself supervised the drill.
He claimed the maneuvers were orchestrated in response to a “threatening Israeli reinforcements.”
The drill included infantry, anti-tank missile crews, and anti-aircraft teams. Engineering units, search and rescue teams, military propagandists, and communication and logistics teams also took part.

Improved Gaza M issiles
must be silenced after November!
November 10, 2007
http://www.tribulationperiod.com/
After the Annapolis Conference beginning on November 26th, Israel will be left with little choice other than to deal with the growing threat of a much better type of missile being launched out of the Gaza Strip, the details of which are described in the DEBKAfile Report, which follows our heading.
The new missiles have a longer range, more explosive force, and better accuracy. There will be scores of Hamas operatives launching them who are continuously returning from training by Iranians and Syrians.
This will increase the likelihood of a major IDF operation into
the Gaza Strip to prevent the loss of Israeli life.

Hamas Is Producing a New Generation of Palestinian Extra-Power, Extra-Range Missiles in Gaza and West Bank
November 9, 2007, 9:51 PM (GMT+02:00)
In the last few weeks, the Palestinian Islamist Hamas has succeeded in tricking Israeli military intelligence into believing that the IDF forays behind the lines in Gaza had slowed down their Qassam missile offensive against Israeli towns and villages.
It was a ruse. DEBKAfile’s military sources disclose that stocks of the primitive Qassam missiles are low because Hamas has stopped making them and is now fully engaged in setting up the production of a new generation of missiles upgraded to a range of up to 25 km, armed with 3-kilo warheads – one-and a half times the range of the types in current use and more than double their explosive power – and greater accuracy.
Production lines are also going up in several towns on the West Bank,
the territory governed by Mahmoud Abbas’ Palestinian Authority. According to our intelligence sources, the Hamas target is to turn out enough new missiles in 4 to 6 weeks – preferably in time for the US-promoted Middle East conference in Annapolis at
the end of November. The shelf-life of these missiles is no more than 6 weeks.
The new missiles bring half a million Israelis within range of Hamas fire – a quarter of a million in the south and a similar number in Israel’s heartland north and south of Greater Tel Aviv.
In the South, the new missiles can reach Kiryat Gat and the southern outskirts of the big port-town of Ashdod.
DEBKAfile’s sources emphasize that the Palestinian Authority’s security services are not lifting a finger against the new missile industry mushrooming on the West Bank. In fact, members of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an offshoot of Abbas’ Fatah, are shielding it.
Furthermore, the Israeli military is also standing aside, for two reasons:
1. Israeli military intelligence has not had time to collect the specific addresses of the new missile production sites.
2. Even if all the intelligence were to hand, the Olmert government would not authorize military action to destroy the foundries and workshops – certainly not before Annapolis – because, from the little that has been discovered, they are known to be embedded in the most densely populated areas of Palestinian cities. There is no way to destroy them by air or from the ground without inflicting heavy civilian casualties.
DEBKAfile’s military sources add:
Up until the last week in October, Israeli military spokesmen explained that Hamas had tapered off its Qassam attacks and switched to mortar fire in response to the heavy punishment the missile sites and teams were taking from the IDF’s regular behind-the-lines raids in Gaza and its air strikes.
It was presumed that Hamas had decided that Israeli forces would find it harder to locate and strike the mortar cells than the more vulnerable missile crews.
However, our sources reveal that this theory does not hold water. Some time ago, the air force command notified the general staff that air strikes against Qassam crews were hardly worth the candle since they hit no more than 3 percent of their targets.
What this amounts to, say DEBKAfile’s military experts, is that 16 months after the Lebanon War, the Israeli military has still not cracked the problem of short-range missile and rocket attacks from across Israel’s borders.
Aware of this, Hamas is investing all its efforts in upgrading the range, destructive power and accuracy of their new missiles. The Qassam crews have been taken off daily barrage duty against Sderot and other Israeli towns and villages and put into training for the new hardware.
In recent weeks, scores of Hamas operatives have returned to Gaza from special courses in missile production in Iran and Syria, under Syrian and Iranian Revolutionary Guards instructors. The returnees’ brought with them lathe components and metals for upgrading their machinery and product.
Officers serving in the IDF’s southern command are deeply pessimistic about the military’ s ability to deal with the new mi
ssile threat at this late date. They also report that Hamas is managing to smuggle from Gaza to the West Bank missile production engineers and machine parts.
The Palestinian Islamists are taking advantage of the restraints imposed on Israeli army and Shin Bet on the West Bank too. For the time being, they are confined solely to counter-terror preventive operations. Israeli and Palestinian forces are leaving Hamas’s production and missile teams alone.
This week, word went round the Palestinian towns and villages on the West Bank that applicants for employment in the new Qassam missile industry would be made welcome.

The Slime P it
of Israel just will not go away!
November 9, 2007

Gaza, the slime pit of Israel, has been a thorn in Israel’s side since the days of the Philistines.
If the Gaza Strip slipped into the Mediterranean Sea during an earthquake, the tears shed by Israel would be like those shed by an alligator while digesting a large meal due to internal stress in its digestive processes.
Judging from Article 1 from the Jerusalem Post, Israel intends to hold off on launching a major operation into the Gaza Strip until after the 26th of November Annapolis Conference. And according to statements in Article 2, there will be “a hot time in the old town tonight” when the operation is launched.

Al- Zahar warns: Whoever enters Gaza will leave it in pieces
Mark Weiss and JPost.com Staff, THE JERUSALEM POST
November 8, 2007
“Whoever enters Gaza will leave it in pieces,” Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Zahar warned Israel on Friday.
Speaking at a rally in the Jabaliya refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, al-Zahar went on to say that if Israel moves out of the West Bank, Hamas will take over as it did the Gaza Strip. “Israel says that if it will move out of the West bank, Hamas will take control. We say this is true,” he said.
Al-Zahar’s words contradicted statements made by Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh earlier in the week, when he said his organization had no intention of repeating its Gaza takeover in the West Bank.
Meanwhile, Hamas leader abroad Khaled Mashaal said that no Palestinian has the mandate to relinquish the “right of return” for Palestinian refugees, and that Palestinian and Israeli negotiators don’t have the right to make compromises on the core issues of the conflict.
Earlier on Friday Israeli negotiators reported significant progress in talks with Palestinians; a development which could pave the way to agreement on a joint statement to be issued ahead of the US-sponsored Middle East conference in Annapolis later this month.
Late Thursday, Israeli sources said, Palestinian negotiators accepted Israeli security demands. These assert that progress following the conference will depend on the Palestinians fulfilling obligations set down in the first stage of the road map peace plan, namely the disarming and disbanding of all terror groups.
The breakthrough was reportedly achieved during a late-night meeting between chief Israeli and Palestinian negotiators Tzipi Livni and Ahmed Qurei.
In response to the reports of progress in the talks, a member of the Palestinian negotiating team who claimed he had attended the said meeting between Qurei and Livni, told Israel radio that the “breakthrough” was being trumpeted for more than it was worth.
“I did not sense that there was any progress in the talks with the Israeli side,” the negotiator said.
He then laughed and further retorted, “What’s new about the principle stating that the implementation of commitments depends upon [the Palestinians] fighting terror? Indeed, it appears in the road map, and we of course agreed to the road map.”
Israeli sources also reported progress on Thursday, with Palestinian negotiators easing their demands that the peace conference lay out a specific timetable for statehood.
Israel expected to receive a formal confirmation from the US on Friday as to the date of the Annapolis peace conference. Reports Thursday night suggested President George W. Bush would host an opening evening for the delegations on November 25, with two or three days of summit talks to follow.
Israel will be represented at Annapolis by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and a negotiating team made up of officials from the Prime Minister’s Office and the Foreign and Defense ministries. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas will head the Palestinian delegation, which will include former PA Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei (Abu Ala).
Israeli sources confirmed Thursday night that the prime minister was considering a settlement freeze ahead of Annapolis. According to some Israeli officials, a de facto settlement freeze has already been in place for the last five years.
But in a report issued Wednesday, Peace Now said that despite the government’s pledge to stop settlement expansion, dozens of new buildings had been erected inside existing settlements in the past year, and settlements were growing at a rate over three times faster than the average community growth in Israel.
Israeli and US sources said another visit to the region by US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was expected before the Maryland gathering.
PA officials said Thursday they were pleased with Israeli pledges to resume peace talks after the conference and were now less concerned about the statement of principles that had bogged down earlier negotiations.
Israeli, Palestinian and US officials have all indicated in recent days that sticking points are slowly being resolved.
The Palestinians had insisted the document outline the general principles of a peace agreement and provide a timeline for granting them independence. The Israelis sought a vaguer, nonbinding agreement.
With negotiators making little progress on these issues, Palestinian officials said they were turning their focus away from the document and toward post-summit talks after receiving Israeli and US assurances that peace efforts would move into high gear after the conference.
“We were hoping for a document that would include defined limits and guiding resolutions for every difficult point,” said Rafiq Husseini, a top aide to Abbas.
“I’m not sure we’ll get it.”
He said he was pleased that there is now talk of reviving the road map.
Other Palestinian officials said Abbas was especially encouraged by Olmert’s speech Sunday night, in which the Israeli leader suggested that a deal could be reached by the end of Bush’s term in January 2009.
Olmert described the Annapolis summit as a “starting point” for talks on Palestinian statehood, including the core issues that have scuttled past peace efforts: the final borders between Israel and a future Palestine, the status of Jerusalem and the fate of Palestinian refugees.
Olmert also said he is ready to carry out Israel’s initial obligations under the road map – a freeze in Jewish settlement activity in the West Bank – and said he expected the Palestinians to meet their road map commitment of thwarting terrorism.
A US diplomat said Washington was encouraged by the latest Palestinian position, which appears to be in line with Israeli and American thinking.
“We’ve never envisioned Annapolis as a meeting that hammers out core issues, but rather sets the stage for parties to work on the core issues in an atmosphere of confidence,” the diplomat said.

ISLAM IS DETERMINED TO ESTABLISH A CALIPHATE EMPIRE
November 9, 2007
http://www.tribulationperiod.com/
I find it very disturbing that a great number of Americans and citizens of many other countries, having only small percentages of Muslims in their native populations, still do not understand the impossibility of true peace in the Middle East. Unfortunately, the governments under the control of Muslims are under the control of the Laws of Allah, and any occupant or visitor in that country who is not a Muslim is classified as an infidel. Please carefully read the following paragraphs, which were extracted from the MEMRI article, which follows our heading.

“Democracy Runs Counter to Islam, Because it Emphasizes the Sovereignty of the People, Whereas Islam Emphasizes the Sovereignty of Allah”
Abu Bakr Ba’shir: “The path taken by many political parties in their effort to establish an Islamic regime is not the right path, because these parties adopt democracy. Democracy is not an Islamic means. Democracy runs counter to Islam, because it emphasizes the sovereignty of the people, whereas Islam emphasizes the sovereignty of Allah. Thus, if we are to submit to the law of Allah, Muslims have no choice but to say: ‘We hear and obey.’ In democracy, Allah’s commands may be open to discussion, and if we agree with them, we accept them, but if we do not agree with them, we reject them. Herein lies the flaw.
Therefore, as long as the Islamic political parties endeavor to adhere to Islam by means of democracy, they will not achieve their goal.”

END QUOTE
The principles of Democracy are an abomination to Allah, because the Islamic faith gives all sovereignty to Allah, and any principle practiced under democracy, which conflicts with the Laws of Allah is judged and dwelt with by Islamic religious leaders. The reason a massive caliphate does not now cover most of the globe is because democracy has been the stronger world force, but Islam is growing stronger day by day. There can be no other solution to the conflict short of global war, which just happens to be exactly what the Bible predicts must eventually break out.
