I have taught for some 35 years that the coming tribulation period war, which terminates in the final great battle of Armageddon in Israel, will not be a war where atomic weapons are used.

It will be a high tech war using a multiplicity of sophisticated military equipment, but I do not believe it will include thermonuclear bombs delivered via aircraft and missiles.

I have made my case to prove this belief in all four books

I have had published.

In all four books I have made the case for the Antichrist to come out of the Middle East to lead the ten horns of Daniel and Revelation, which are Islamic nations.

I have consistently taught that Iran does not want a nuclear arsenal of warheads to launch a preemptive strike against Israel. Iran wants a deliverable nuclear arsenal for two major reasons – (1) As a deterrent to keep Israel from launching a preemptive strike against her, and (2) To bring all the Islamic nations into a position such that that must appease her because of her nuclear power.

The excerpt by Barry Rubin from the Jerusalem Post was taken from the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs Daily alert. It is an outstanding analysis of the Iranian threat.

The second article by the Associated Press was taken as a Fox News release from an Iranian Newspaper. It gives a good assessment of the nuclear dispute now raging between the Iranian President Ahmadinejad and the Reform elements in the Iranian leadership.

Why should Iran having nuclear weapons bother you? Appeasement.

Frightened by Iran’s possession of nuclear weapons and uncertain of Western protection, Arabic-speaking states will rush to meet Iran’s demands. They will be afraid to cooperate with U.S. policy or provide facilities for Western efforts to contain Iran.

Given Iran’s rejectionist stance, no Arab state, or the Palestinian Authority, would dare move toward peace with Israel.

Intoxicated with a belief that Islamism is on the march to victory, tens and perhaps hundreds of thousands will join radical Islamist groups, either clients of Iran or independent ones.

It is quite conceivable that even if the Iranian government makes no decision to give nuclear weapons to terrorists, super-extremist elements in the regime will do it on their own.

Even if Iran never uses nuclear weapons to make mushroom clouds, it will quite effectively use them to gain strategic and economic leverage.

Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday blasted critics of his nuclear policies as “traitors” and accused them of spying for Iran’s enemies, using his strongest rhetoric yet against domestic opponents and raising concerns of a possible crackdown.

Ahmadinejad’s tough comments appeared to be an escalation aimed at silencing calls for him to compromise with the West over Iran’s nuclear program, at a time of increasingly high-level criticism of his policies within the country’s ruling establishment.

Ahmadinejad has moved to exert greater control over the nuclear issue, replacing Iran’s top nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, with a close loyalist — a step that angered even some conservative politicians.

At the same time, complaints against the president have become more vocal. Ahmadinejad has long faced domestic criticism that he was failing to improve the worsening economy and has needlessly worsened the stand-off with the West with his inflammatory speeches.

But recently, more leading figures have spoken out.

Last month, Larijani’s predecessor as top nuclear negotiator, Hasan Rowhani, delivered an unusually sharp rebuke to Ahmadinejad, saying he was making more enemies for Iran with his policies.

One of Iran’s most powerful cleric-politicians, former president Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rasfanjani, issued a veiled criticism of Ahmadinejad last week, saying officials must “avoid immaturity and not cause trouble for the people.”

On Monday, Ahmadinejad warned he would expose his critics, saying, “They are traitors.”

“If internal elements do not stop pressures concerning the nuclear issue, they will be exposed to the Iranian nation,” Ahmadinejad said in a speech to students at Tehran’s Science and Industry University in Tehran.

“We have made promises to the people and believe anyone giving up over the nuclear issue is a traitor.”

He accused critics of regularly providing “the enemy” with “information from within the ruling system.”

“We even have a recorded speech of one of them who tells the enemy, ‘Why should you give up? … Step up pressures to make them (Iran) retreat,”‘ Ahmadinejad said, without identifying the person he was referring to, according to the state television Web site.

The president said one official has already been arrested for espionage and accused his critics of pressuring the courts to acquit him. “But I announce here that the Iranian nation won’t allow these persons and groups to use political and economic influence to save criminals from the clutches of justice,” he said.

Ahmadinejad did not name the official.

But earlier this year, Hossein Mousavian — an ally of Rafsanjani who was the top nuclear negotiator under former reformist President Mohammad Khatami — was briefly detained. Authorities have not said what charges he faces, but the semiofficial Fars news agency has reported that the charges were likely related to espionage.

Rafsanjani, who lost to Ahmadinejad in 2005 elections, has emerged as the leader of Iran’s camp of moderate conservatives, many of whom were former supporters of Ahmadinejad who have since become disillusioned with his rule.

The camp is likely the most worrisome domestic challenge for Ahmadinejad, since — unlike more liberal reformists — they have influence with Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Rafsanjani on Monday warned that Iran was facing “serious threats.”

“We are subject to big conspiracies. Regional tensions are at its peak. Americans have deployed their forces everywhere they wanted. There is danger. It is serious,” Rafsanjani said in a speech at a Tehran conference, with Rowhani and Mousavian sitting next to him.

It was Mousavian’s first major public appearance after being released in May.

Reformist lawmaker, Esmaeil Gerami Moghadam, said Ahmadinejad’s harsh comments were “the beginning of a new crackdown against his critics. He is resorting to threats to escape plausible criticism.”

Mohammad Ravanbakhsh, a reformist writer, said Ahmadinejad denounces anybody opposing his policies as being weak or being an agent of the enemy.

“Ahmadinejad assumes that anybody opposing his policies is either a compromiser giving in to the West or is a coward,” he said.

The United States and some of its allies accuse Iran of seeking to develop nuclear weapons, a claim denied by Iran, which says its program aims only to generate electricity. Iran has taken a tough stance, rejecting United Nation’s demands that it suspend uranium enrichment, a process that can produce either fuel for a reactor or a nuclear warhead.

On Monday, Ahmadinejad again insisted that there will be no halt or slowing down of Iran’s uranium enrichment.

“Today, bad-wishers … try to get a very small concession from this nation. In the latest talks, they raised the issue of declining the installation of centrifuges … we don’t accept this,” he said.

If the DEBKAfile exclusive turns out to be correct, it will amount to the most treacherous diplomatic betrayal of Israel in the last 100 years. And if it is true, it leaves no doubt that US Secretary of State is willing to betray the “apple of God’s eye” for an achievement of success award in her cap, which will leave Israel standing alone to fight Goliath. I do indeed hope this exclusive information received by DEBKAfile is not correct.

Our foreign policy since the Regan Administration has been constant appeasement through secret back door deals, thinking it will cause regimes hating us to become our bosom buddies. This approach, in the world in which we live, is rank insanity. It is no wonder that even our so-called allies don’t trust us, and our enemies laugh at our inability to perceive they will never be our “buddies.”

I have always advocated that the international community of nations, including the US, should let Israel and the Islamic nations of the Middle East decide on their own peace plan, whether it be accomplished by war or diplomacy.

I agree with what former Prime Minister Barak says in the second article from YNetNews, which follows the DEBKAfile.

Israel should decide.

And, for whatever it is worth, when Israel does eventually end up in the Negev Wilderness, I hope former Prime Minister Netanyahu survives the ordeal and ends up as their leader for three and one-half years.

Although the US promised Israel that its renewed contacts with Syria would be confined to the Lebanon controversy, DEBKAfile’s sources report that a Washington-Damascus rapprochement is in full flight.

The US ambassador will soon return to Damascus and Syrian officials are made warmly welcome in the US capital these days.

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has gone so far as to offer the Syrian delegate the conference floor to press his case for Israel to return the Golan which Syria lost in the 1967 War. The Golan issue will even be incorporated in the closing document.

The favors the Bush administration is bestowing on Damascus, none of which were cleared with Israel, have encouraged the Palestinians to inflate their demands and harden their negotiating stance.

Barak: Israel should launch its own peace initiative

Defense minister says Israeli peace plan could stop other initiatives from being forced on country

Defense Minister Ehud Barak supports a comprehensive peace initiative that would include promoting a peace agreement with Syria, Ynet has learned Monday evening.

Barak has told his associates in recent days that only such an initiative could stop other peace plans, like the Arab peace initiative, from being forced on Israel.

According to the defense minister, the issue of talks with the Syrians should be reexamined, and a change of policy may lead to positive results. He stressed that with Syria, “the price is known and the outcome important.”

“Why not have an Israeli initiative?” Barak asked his aides. “Why shouldn’t we stipulate out interests, what we want, what we are willing to give, and then launch our own peace plan as a starting point for negotiations?” he added.

Meanwhile, the preparations for the Annapolis peace conference continued in full speed. On Monday night, three members of the Israeli negotiating team left for Washington in order to coordinate expectations with the Americans ahead of the summit.

Daniel 11:40 – And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

There is coming a time when Israel (king of the south forces south of the Lebanon-Syrian border) will push north against the king of the north (forces north of the Israeli border), and the fulfillment of Daniel 11:40 to 12:1 will begin. My guess is that the initial push, which sets in motion the last three and one-half years of great tribulation period, is likely to begin at some point in time between 2010 and the end of 2014.

The scenario, now being reported in the two articles which follow, is in line with preparations for such a future attack.

Israel alleges that Hizbullah militants in Lebanon have rearmed with new long-range rockets capable of hitting Tel Aviv and tripled their arsenal of land-to-sea missiles since last summer’s war, the United Nations secretary-general said in a report Wednesday.

Ban Ki-Moon said the reports of Hizbullah’s rearming are a cause of great concern for the stability of Lebanon.

“Israel has stated that the nature and number of weapons in Hizbullah’s control constitutes a strategic threat to its security and the safety of its citizens,” he said.

Israel claims Hizbullah’s long-range rocket force is stationed in areas north of the Litani River and that most of the new rockets, including hundreds of Zilzal and Fajr generation rockets, have a range of 155 miles, “enabling them to reach Tel Aviv and points further south,” the report said.

“Israel also claims that Hizbullah has tripled its shore-to-sea C-802 missiles and have established an air defense unit armed with ground-to-air missiles,” Ban said.

While Israel has not provided the United Nations with specific intelligence due to the sensitivity of the sources, Ban said several speeches by Hizbullah’s leader Hassan Nasrallah in the past few months “seem to confirm these Israeli claims.”

‘Israel undermining UN’s credibility’

Senior Hizbullah officials have said Nasrallah’s comments were made to serve as a deterrent to aggression rather than as threats to Israel, Ban said.

“Reports of rearming are a cause of great concern which pose serious challenges for the sovereignty, stability and independence of Lebanon,” he added.

Ban said Israel’s contention that Hizbullah has rearmed to a level higher than before last year’s war — and that arms continue to be smuggled across the Lebanon-Syria border despite Syrian denials — raise serious concerns about implementation of the UN resolution that ended the 34-day war between Israel and Hizbullah.

Under the Security Council resolution, weapons transfers to the Iranian- and Syrian-backed militants are banned. Ban warned during a visit to Lebanon in March that arms smuggling threatened the Aug. 14, 2006 cease-fire. The resolution calls for the disarming of all militias.

Ban said there has been no progress the disarmament of Hizbullah and other militias, although he sees this as essential to fully restoring government authority throughout the country. The current political crisis in Lebanon has hindered efforts to implement the resolution.

Ban has said the Shebaa Farms, captured by Israel during the 1967 war, “remains a key issue” in implementing the 2006 resolution. The United Nations determined that the area is Syrian. But Lebanon claims Shebaa Farms — a claim backed by Syria — and Hizbullah continues to fight over the disputed land, arguing that Israel’s occupation justifies its resistance.

The report for the first time publishes the provisional “definition” of the Shebaa Farms area, which was prepared by a senior UN cartographer.

Ban said he is encouraged by the Lebanese government’s first strides to enhance the control of its borders. He again urged Syria to demarcate its border with Lebanon and establish formal diplomatic relations with its neighbor.

He criticized Israel for failing to provide Lebanon with “the exact location, quantity and type of cluster munitions utilized during last summer’s conflict” which has led to an increasing number of deaths and injuries of Lebanese civilians.

“Israel’s continued violations of Lebanese airspace not only constitute repeated violations of Security Council resolutions but also undermine the credibility of the UN … and damage efforts to reduce tension, build confidence and stabilize the situation in southern Lebanon,” Ban said.

Hizbullah Secretary-General Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah said on Sunday that Israel’s recent military training maneuvers near the Lebanese border were intended to prepare for a new war on Lebanon.

Nasrallah also said Hizbullah’s own drills in southern Lebanon were in direct response to the Israeli exercises, intended to send out ”a clear message” to the Israeli leadership that Hizbullah was ready to fight.

”The (Israeli) enemy has been conducting military maneuvers for months.

The latest maneuvers occurred a few weeks ago near the Lebanese border in which 50,000 Israeli officers and soldiers participated,” Nasrallah told a Hizbullah rally in south Beirut.

”These maneuvers are to prepare for an attack on Lebanon,” he said.

The pro-Hizbullah newspaper Al-Akhbar reported that thousands of unarmed Hizbullah fighters took part in the organization’s own maneuvers, which was later confirmed by a senior Hizbullah official who would not give further details.

Prime Minister Fuad Saniora downplayed the event as just a simulation and UN peacekeeping force patrolling a zone along the border in southern Lebanon said no maneuvers were observed in their area of operations.

The newspaper said Nasrallah personally supervised the maneuvers, which it said were carried out in the last three days without weapons or uniforms, billing it as the biggest ever staged on Israel’s border.

‘Hizbullah will change region’

”I tell the (Israeli) enemy that these maneuvers were real, serious and big. I am not going to give details. There is a great deal of readiness (by Hizbullah) which the enemy must understand,” Nasrallah said in his speech Sunday.

”These maneuvers were intended to send out a clear message to the world which is besieging us and to this enemy that that the resistance in Lebanon possesses determination, men and the necessary and sufficient weapons to defend Lebanon,” Nasrallah proclaimed, drawing cheers from the crowd.

Without elaborating, he added, ”The resistance is ready to make a victory for Lebanon that will change the region’s face.”

The rally, attended by several thousand Hizbullah supporters waving the group’s yellow banners and theLebanese flag, was organized by the group to mark Lebanon’s Martyr’s Day.

Nasrallah, who remains in hiding as he fears a possible Israeli attempt on his life, did not personally attend the rally.

Celebratory fireworks and gunfire erupted at the start

and end of his 90-minute speech.

Hezekiah Rides again as Israeli President Shimon Peres!

I am afraid Israeli President Shimon Peres is about to make the same type of military tactical error with the Turks that King Hezekiah made with the Babylonians during the days of the Prophet Isaiah. If Israel does make the deal outlined in the Jerusalem Post article, which follows, results similar to those experienced after Hezekiah’s death may also occur after President Peres’ death.

Isaiah 38:1-6 – In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. Israel may sell Arrow and Ofek to Turkey

Israel and Turkey are holding high-level talks on a possible sale of the Arrow ballistic missile defense system and a model

of the Ofek spy satellite to Turkey, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

Turkish officials said senior Israeli defense delegations had recently met with their counterparts in Ankara for talks on the sale of the systems, two of Israel’s most advanced military platforms. Defense M inister Ehud Barak is scheduled to visit Ankara

in January to continue the negotiations.

On Sunday, President Shimon Peres arrived in Ankara under heavy security for a three-day visit, at the invitation of Turkish President Abdullah Gul.

Peres received an honorary doctorate from Bilkent University in Ankara.

“Turkey is an important player in the Middle East in relation to Syria, the United States and the Palestinians, as well as us,” Peres told reporters en route to Ankara.

Peres, Gul and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas are scheduled to meet at the Ankara Forum on Tuesday and are expected to announce the establishment of an industrial zone in the West Bank. Peres said Sunday that “150,000 jobs are far more important [for promoting peace] than 15,000 rifles.”

To strengthen Abbas, Peres said, Israel needed to improve the quality of life in the Palestinian territories. He expressed optimism that Palestinian and Israeli negotiating teams would agree on a joint document to be submitted to the Middle East conference in Annapolis, Maryland, later this month.

Peres’s talks with the Turkish leadership will focus on the possibility of renewing Israeli negotiations with Syria, the Iranian threat and the growing rift between Turkey and the US over a nonbinding resolution to formally recognize the Armenian genocide of 1915.

The sale of the Arrow and the Ofek is not expected to come up during Peres’s conversations here, since the issue is being dealt with on a defense industry level. Both systems are manufactured by Israel Aerospace Industries.

Turkey and Israel have held talks over a sale of the Arrow for several years, and the deal is pending approval from the United States, which finances more than 30 percent of the defense system’s production. In April, Arieh Herzog, head of the Homa Missile Defense Agency, told the Post he favored selling the Arrow to Israel’s allies, including Turkey.

Israeli defense officials said Turkey was interested in acquiring a missile defense system in the face of Iran’s race toward nuclear power.

The sale of an Ofek satellite (Israel launched the Ofek 7 in June) would dramatically increase Turkish intelligence-gathering capabilities, since today Turkey does not have its own spy satellites.

“The purchase of these two systems would skip Turkey years forward in operational capabilities,” an Israeli defense official said.

UK paper: Dimona defenses on high alert

The defensive missile shield around Israel’s nuclear facility at Dimona was placed on red alert 30 times last week out of concern over a possible Syrian air strike, the Sunday Times has reported.

The British newspaper said that a battery of US-made Patriot anti-aircraft missiles had been moved to the Negev site following intelligence that Damascus may launch a raid in retaliation for the September 6 strike on a suspected nuclear installation in northern Syria.

The Times quoted the deputy commander of the battery as saying: “We’re ready to launch the missiles in seconds, once we’ re on full alert.

“Every civilian aircraft en route from Cairo to Amman, or from Jeddah to Cairo and vice versa, which deviates even slightly from its route, sets off an alarm and risks a missile being fired.”

The newspaper quoted a defense source as saying: “The fact that the Syrians didn’t launch an immediate strike against Israel doesn’t mean that they won’t retaliate in due course, Dimona is on the top of their list.”
