The deadly accuracy of the Israeli attack aircraft is clearly outlined by the undisturbed features of the structures around the area of building destruction in the center of the detailed satellite photographs taken on October 24th after the Air Strike on September 6th, when compared to the photograph taken before the strike on August 10th.

As I pointed out on the first Blogs we issued on this in September, the important thing about this Israeli Operation was three-fold, (1) They zoomed by the super high tech sophisticated Russian radar detection-destruction systems, (2) hit their target with deadly accuracy, and (3) then got out without loss of men or equipment.

This has caused the Syrians, Iranians, and Russians great emotional consternation, and will continue to affect their international policies and actions for some time. No matter how much they improve their existing defenses, there will always be the lingering question – can they do the same thing to this one that they did on September 6th

Photos taken on Aug 10th and October 24th show entire complex ‘vanished’

Albright said Syria may have acted so swiftly because the Israeli attack blew a hole in the roof, which would have exposed the building’s contents to spy aircraft and satellites.

Had the building not been razed, inspectors would have been able to tell from its c onstructi

on whether it was meant to house a North Korean-style nuclear reactor, Albright said.

He said that the structure got a roof so early in its construction also suggests that it was a reactor.

”That’s another bit of support that it was a reactor being built with North Korean help,” he said. ”From what we understand, North Korea builds reactors in an old-fashioned way; the roof goes on early.” More modern reactors leave the roof until last to allow large cranes to lift heavy equipment into place, he said.

The building was under construction for at least a year, based on analysis of earlier commercial images put together by SPOT Image, another commercial imagery company, Albright said.

DigitalGlobe’s satellites captured four images of the site on four recent days – Aug 10th, 15th, 28th and Oct 24th.

Company spokesman Chuck Herring would not say whether DigitalGlobe captured those images speculatively or at the request of a customer.

Syria, a member of the nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, denies it was building a

nuclear reactor. It has a single small nuclear research reactor that operates under international safeguards.

The alleged new reactor would have operated outside those controls.

‘Reactor may have been built in 2001’

The alleged Syrian nuclear facility that was destroyed by the IAF on September 6 was photographed

by an American company as early as 2003, The New York Times reported on Saturday.

The paper quoted a senior US intelligence official as saying that American analysts examined the site several years ago, and had been uncertain as to whether it was in fact a nuclear facility.

Independent analysts who have looked over the satellite image said the structure’s construction may have begun as early as 2001 – a theory with which the intelligence official said he agreed.

John E. Pike, who directs a private group that analyzes satellite images, GlobalSecurity.org, said it was “uncommon to see such activity in the middle of nowhere,” adding that American spy satellites and analysts had watched the site for years.

North Korea’s alleged involvement in the project could have started shortly before

the new millennium, the Times report said.

The fact that the infrastructure had been built at least four years ago did not mean the facility had always been used for the same purposes as it was being used for immediately before the Israeli strike, former OC Air Force Maj.-Gen. (res.) Eitan Ben Eliyahu told Channel 10 on Saturday evening.

PA Terrorists Use Google as Target Tool

(IsraelNN.com) Palestinian Authority terrorists are using the cutting-edge technology of Google Earth to home in on targets in Israel.

The Gaza commander of the Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades gang was quoted Thursday in The Guardian as saying his operatives use the virtual mapping internet technology to identify their targets.

“We obtain the details

from Google Earth and check them against our maps of the city center and sensitive areas,” said Khaled Ja’abari, whose nom de guerre is Abu Walid.

One internet site, Flash Earth, consolidates at least five such mapping sites, all of which offer satellite imagery across the globe, albeit of different qualities.

Google Maps tops the list and features the sharpest imagery.

Google also allows one to draw closer to the targeted area of interest than the other services

, although recently that ability has been blunted.

Type in even a small Israeli city with little military significance, such as Arad, and the technology enables one to find a specific house.

That is not the case with cities such as Sderot, Jerusalem, Ashdod and Dimona; it is possible to approach the cities in enough detail to get a general sense of where things are, but not close enough to obtain specific details.

Magnify the resolution too high, and numerous international STOP signs (the circle bisected with a diagonal bar) appear on a filmy white background that blurs the “sensitive” image.

Several cities are altogether inaccessible, such as Tel Aviv, Kiryat Shmona, Tzfat, Haifa and Ashkelon. “Please try another location,” politely suggests the service.

The latitude and longitude of each requested location are obligingly provided, despite the lack of visual detail.

“We have paid close attention to concerns that Google Earth creates new security risks,” said Google in a company statement, but contended that “commercial high-resolution satellite and aerial imagery of every country in the world is widely available from numerous sources.”

Abu Walid showed the Guardian an aerial image of Sderot, the terrorists’ favorite target for Kassam rockets.

However, the Kassam has no guidance system and the terrorists can only aim it in the general direction of Sderot without the ability to pinpoint an impact site.

Erekat appeals against Gaza power cuts

Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat appealed for international intervention and called the Israeli decision to cut off electricity to Gaza after each Kassam rocket “particularly provocative given that Palestinians and Israelis are meeting to negotiate an agreement on the core issues for ending the conflict between them.”

Defense Minister Ehud Barak’s approval earlier Thursday of an IDF plan to impose sanctions on the Gaza Strip in wake of the escalation in Kassam rocket attacks was the first step, defense officials told The Jerusalem Post, towards a “complete disengagement” including the gradual reduction in Palestinian dependency on Israel for gas and electricity.

During his weekly security meeting on Thursday Barak approved the plan that had been formulated by Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilna’i and Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories Maj.-Gen. Yosef Mishlav in line with the recent cabinet decision that defined Gaza as a “hostile entity.”

According to the plan, one of

the power lines connecting Israel and Gaza will be shut down at first for 15 minutes after a rocket attack, gradually increasing the cutoff length if the barrages continue, up to a two-hour limit. In addition, Israel will begin reducing the amount of gasoline it allows into the Gaza Strip.

Defense officials stressed that the fairly-limited sanctions were not capable of creating a humanitarian crisis in Gaza and were being imposed with the eventual goal – of the defense establishment – to completely cut off Palestinian dependency on Israel. The cuts to electricity will not affect Gaza-based hospitals, defense officials said.

Palestinians and human rights groups denounced the measure as collective punishment. One of the groups, Gisha, issued a statement warning, “Playing with electricity is playing with fire,” adding, “Even a brief interruption in electricity threatens the safety and well-being of Gaza residents.”

Infrastructure Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer said Israel had no choice but to take punitive measures. “Should we tell them to continue firing rockets at the same power station that provides them with electricity and continue to bomb the water system that provides them with water?” he asked.

Defense officials stressed that the cuts to electricity and gas were not being taken to “punish” the Palestinians but to instead gradually begin the final disengagement from the Gaza Strip, which was started in 2005 when Israel unilaterally withdrew from the Palestinian territory.

This plan has was recently raised by outgoing Deputy Chief of Staff Maj.-Gen. Moshe Kaplinsky during a series of meetings within the defense establishment.

According to the proposal, which officials stressed was in its early stages, Israel would completely disconnect from Gaza by closing off the Erez, Karni, Sufa and Kerem Shalom crossings and instead direct humanitarian organizations to work with Egypt.

A senior official in the Prime Minister’s Office said that while in the long run Israel hoped to reach a situation where Israel could completely cut itself off from Gaza, “we are not at that stage yet.”

The official said that such a decision would need to come to the security cabinet and the government, something that has not yet happened. According to the official, the decision to cut back on electric and gas supplies was part of September’s cabinet decision that declared the Gaza Strip “hostile territory.”

Anticipating a barrage of criticism following the decision to scale back the volume of electricity and gasoline that will be provided to Gaza, the Foreign Ministry already on Wednesday sent out background information and talking points to Israel’s representations abroad explaining that the move was a “non- violent response to continued attacks.”

The material emphasizes that the actions are a response to the unrelenting Kassam attacks that continued even after Israel fully withdrew from the Gaza Strip in 2005.

The material stresses that the actions are within the realms of international law, and that Israel’s first responsibility is to protect its citizens.

Israel’s ambassadors and spokesmen are expected to say that Hamas is engaged in war crimes by targeting innocent civilians, and that Israel’s steps are not collective punishment but rather the justified response to attacks on Israeli citizens.

Meanwhile in violence on Thursday, IDF troops shot and killed four armed Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Two Hamas operatives were killed during clashes with an IDF reserve unit in southern Gaza and large amounts of weaponry, including an RPG and a grenade, were found on their bodies. The other two, affiliated with Islamic Jihad, were killed after they were spotted laying roadside bombs along the Gaza security fence.

New satellite images published by The New York Times show that the installation allegedly attacked by Israel on September 6, and considered by experts to be a fledgling nuclear reactor, has disappeared without a trace.

Two high resolution photos taken by a commercial satellite before and after the strike show that the site has been almost totally cleared.

US experts claimed that the speed with which Syria hurried to clear up any rubble remaining after the alleged strike was indicative of its will to get rid of incriminating evidence.

A senior intelligence official said the evacuation of debris was not a pre-planned clearing up, which usually lasts up to a year.

It was “amazing” that the Syrians made such efforts to make evidence “vanish” so quickly, the official said.

David Albright, President of the Institute for Science and International Security, said the building’s disappearance was troubling. It seems Syria is trying to hide something, Albright said, but “it will not work.

[They] will have to produce answers on what happened there.”

The White House spokesperson in Washington DC refused to respond to the report.

We still have several years to dilly-dally with Iran over its development of a deliverable nuclear warhead, but we are not sitting on Iran’s back porch like Israel, and do not need to take tranquillizers at this point.

It is apparent that the Europeans are finally waking up to the European invasion by Islam since the breakup of the colonial empires following World War II.

Ironically, since Russia is objecting so strenuously to the American plan to build a missile defensive shield in Poland, it may be that the only protection Europe will have against a future missile attack by Iran will be the great number of Muslims living there.

However, the real opinion the Iranians have of the Palestinians, is such that it is likely to serve as an incentive, rather than a deterrent, to launch missiles on Israel.

Sooner or later someone will have to attack the Iranian nuclear sites, and in the end, it may be Israel acting alone.

DEBKAfile Reports: An Iranian organization (Hizballah’s Friends) declares every American a “terrorist” after Washington unveils a new package of extra-tough sanctions Thursday

The package was to be announced jointly by secretary of state Condoleezza Rice and treasury secretary Henry Paulson and include branding Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps proliferators of weapons of mass destruction and the al Qods Brigade sponsor of terrorists. The defense ministry is also singled out for sanctions.

These steps are unprecedented. DEBKAfile’s Iranian sources recall that the Islamic regime announced in advance that approval of these measures would be deemed tantamount to an American declaration of war on Iran and call forth retaliation. Tehran would target US interests in the Persian Gulf, Iraq and Afghanistan or Israel by means of Special Groups, i.e. Iran’s foreign intelligence networks, Hizballah or Hamas.

DEBKAfile’s sources reveal that these reprisals may be delayed some days because of a profound power struggle taking place in Iran’s leadership. However, since the supreme ruler, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is directly affected as commander-in-chief of Iran’s armed forces, including the IRGC and its al Qods Brigade, Tehran cannot afford to let Washington’s accusations go unanswered.

The new sanctions package includes US financial penalties for any world firms trading with the Revolutionary Guards.

They would apply to more than 1,000 companies in Europe, the Middle East, the Persian Gulf and Asia. Our Iranian sources note that since IRGC-owned companies control more than 35 percent of Iran’s economic activities, the new sanctions will have a crippling effect on its national economy. This is already hard hit by Washington’s systematic blockage of Iran’s dealings with international banks, which has left Tehran seriously short of cash flow, foreign currency and basic commodities.

According to DEBKAfile’s sources, Iran very recently sent Indonesia an “emergency appeal” for gasoline and heavy oil, because it has run out of currency to pay for imported refined oil products.

Tehran offered to reward Jakarta with a concession for building big new oil refineries, which Iran lacks.

Indonesia has not yet replied. Its government must take into account that no serious world oil enterprise would be willing to cooperate in a refinery project in Iran for fear of a backlash from the American boycott.

MK Eitam: ‘Israel Will Have To Attack Iran’

(IsraelNN.com) The time will come that Israel will have to defend itself and attack Iran to stop it from becoming a nuclear power, Knesset Member Effie Eitam has warned.

Speaking recently at the town of Beit El in Samaria, he declared, “Israel has the right and the ability to defend itself and that day is around the corner” but expressed confidence that the United States would stand by Israel. He said the Iranian threat is very real.

“There is no exaggeration and we should not underestimate that cloud which hangs over the State of Israel.”

MK Eitam, a decorated hero in the Yom Kippur War, commander in the Gaza region during the first Intifada and an officer in the daring 1976 Entebbe rescue mission of Israeli hostages in Uganda, maintained that Israel cannot rely only its military strength. Power by itself will not end the threat that Israel faces in maintaining its true strength of “morals and principals [that] lie in its Jewish identity,” he said. “The ultimate solution is education, awareness [and] lifestyle of how Jews should be and live as individuals, as communities and as a state.”

Reflecting his strong position on the place of Israel for Jews, he declared, ” Israel is not a state of the

Israelis. It is a state of the Jewish people.”

His military career was highlighted with his receiving the Medal of Distinguished Service during the Yom Kippur War, when he and his sergeant stopped Syrian tanks in the Golan Heights and later rescued wounded comrades.

He retired from active service in the IDF in 2001 and the following year started his political career as chairman of the National Religious Party, which ran in the last general elections with the National Union party.

MK Eitam bitterly opposed the expulsion of Jews in Gush Katif, where he moved with his family to reinforce the will of the Jewish communities there.

In these last days in which we are living I often find myself wondering how far away we are from the events in the following Scriptures being fulfilled in the seat of the beast along the Euphrates River, perhaps by men like these described in those Scriptures, who are so very anxious to stir up events that will cause the Mahdi to come.

Revelation 16:10-16 – And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, [11] And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds. [12] And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. [13] And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

[14] For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. [15] Behold, I come as a thief.

It appears to me that the Middle East war, which will set in motion the event leading to the final battle of Armageddon some three and on-half years later, could begin as early as 2010 or as late as 2014.

Another Major Victory for Messianics

While the world catches its breath after the sudden resignation of Iran’s top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani, questions are being asked about the background and beliefs of his successor, Saeed Jalili.

The answers, it turns out, are troubling.

Until today, not much has been known about the 41 year-old gray-haired official.

He has a Ph.

D from Imam Sadegh University in Teheran.

As a soldier during the Iraq-Iran war, he apparently survived a chemical attack by Saddam Hussein’s forces.

Sometime later during the war he was shot in his right leg, which according to one report, had to be amputated.

According to the same report, since then Jalili has worn an artificial leg. He is a known follower of Khomeini’s “simple living” lifestyle philosophy. During his stint as a Foreign Ministry official, he served at a number of departments where, apparently, he did not make use of amenities made available to employees. For example, he continued to drive an inexpensive KIA Pride to work instead of trading it in for a more luxurious car.

As the deputy head of the American and European section at the Foreign Ministry, Jalili is known to have worked until the early hours of the morning in his office in his efforts to strengthen the co-operation of Iran with Southern hemisphere countries. This was part of the “south-south” strategy, according to which it was believed that Ahmadinejad’s government would be able to look for and find alliances with countries such as Venezuela.

It is also reported that Ahmadinejad has consulted Jalili on a number of key moves – according to one report, Ahmadinejad’s infamous 18-page letter to President George W. Bush was, in fact, Jalili’s idea.

THE MOST worrying revelation about Jalili’s past appeared recently in the Iran Diplomacy Web site. This Teheran-based news agency, in an article titled “Dr Ali Leaves, Dr Saeed Enters” revealed that for most of his career at the Foreign Ministry, Jalili worked closely with Mojtaba Hashemi Samare, a leading messianic and a close ally of Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi,

the most well-known and high-ranking messianic cleric in Iran.

The article talks about how Jalili cooperated with Hashemi Samare in the Inspectorate department of Ministry. It also mentions that for a short time, Jalili also worked with Ahmadinejad.

Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi is a former member of the Hojattieh, a messianic splinter group which was disbanded by Ayatollah Khomeini in the early 1980s because of its extremist views.

The sect’s goals are to sow chaos – the goal of which is to incite a massive war, presumably necessary to speed up the return of the Shi’ ite messiah, known as the Mahdi.

After the forced disintegration of the sect, Mesbah Yazdi moved to the holy city of Qom, where he ran the Imam Khomeini Foundation and the Haghaniye school. From there, he passed on his messianic beliefs to young clerics and revolutionaries whom he hoped one day would reach senior government levels.

One of his early successes was Hashemi Samare, who in the early 1990s managed to find a position inside Iran’s Foreign Ministry. He soon rose through the ranks and became one of the key officials at the ministry. His main job there was to make sure that Iranian ambassadors were staying true to revolutionary beliefs and Islamic ways while serving abroad.

He soon developed a much-feared reputation for recalling diplomats and even ambassadors whom he suspected of becoming Westernized. Some were said to have been locked inside the basement of the Foreign Ministry for days, where, using interrogation techniques including physical violence, he “re-educated” them.

ANOTHER IMPORTANT characteristic of Hashemi Samare was that in his office, instead of a picture of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei, he hung a portrait of the messianic Mesbah Yazdi. He showed no fear about showing where his true allegiances lay.

During his entire career, Hashemi Samare has looked for, and recruited fellow messianics. No one else would be allowed to work with him.

at called Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who for a very short while, worked for him at the Iranian Foreign Ministry. After that Ahmadinejad was posted to the Ardebil province where he became the governor.

The two men continuously maintained contact and upon his return to Teheran in 1997, their friendship and cooperation continued.

Today, Hashemi Samare is Ahmadinejad’s deputy and most trusted confidant. He can be seen everywhere with the president, especially during foreign travel, such as his recent trip to New York, and when receiving for senior foreign visitors such as Putin.

Some former reformists have even said that while praying, Ahmadinejad stands behind Hashemi Samare; an unmistakable sign of respect and adherence which a person can show to his mentor in Iranian religious circles.

JALILI’S CLOSENESS with Hashemi Samare, and his appointment as the head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) and as the head of Iran’s nuclear negotiation team shows that the messianics have scored another major victory in placing one of their allies in a senior political position.

Now they can boast that, along with holding positions of power in the Ministry of Intelligence (Gholam Hosssein Ejehi), Ministry of Interior (Mostafa Pour Mohammadi), and, of course, the Presidency (Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) – by having Saeed Jalili as chief nuclear negotiator, they now have a stronger say over how Iran deals with the West over its nuclear program.

Despite this power, the messianics will still find a strong obstacle, in the form of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei, who, for now, has the last word on Iran’s nuclear program.

“The increasing presence of messianics and their allies in high ranking positions inside the Iranian government will make it much more difficult for Western governments to believe that Iran’s leadership will at any point in the near future be ready to find a negotiated settlement for the current crisis.”
