Syria Scrambles Eggs with War Spoon Threats over Golan Heights!

God promised fatherless Abraham and barren Sarah a seed whereby he would become the father of a great nation and that in his seed all the families of the earth would be blessed.

Genesis 12:1-3 – Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: [2] And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: [3] And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

The promised seed of Genesis 3:15 was to come from Abraham’s seed via Isaac, Jacob, David, Zerubbabel, Heli and from the virgin’s womb of his daughter, the Virgin Mary.

Galatians 3:16-18 – Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. [17] And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. [18] For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

The promised seed was to come from the womb of Sarah by the seed of Abraham himself, but Sarah was in charge of family plann

ing services and decided Hagar was to be her chosen surrogate child barer. And along came Ishmael. Then, later in Abraham’s life, Isaac, the promised seed, was born, then Isaac’s second born Jacob came out of Rebekah’s womb following twin Esau, and afterward Abraham sired six sons by Keturah. I am not going to attempt a theological discussion of what God’s specific will was in all this, because “all things work together for good, to them that love God.” However, I do think I can safely say there were a large number of very scrambled eggs that came out of all this – and that only Jesus will be able to unscramble these eggs when he comes at his Second Event.

I said all that to say this – Peace and tranquility will never come to the Middle East prior to the Second Advent. I have tightened my seat belt and am waiting for him to come and unscramble centuries of man’s mess-making in every endeavor of society.

Believers! Quite dreading the tribulation which will begin some three and one-half years before the Second Advent, and hope it begins tomorrow.

Revelation 6:8-11 – And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. Apparently, there are a lot of the brethren who are going to be killed as martyrs after the opening of the sixth seal, but why dread it, what a great way to go!

I have never met a man or woman who could scramble 34 eggs, and then unscramble them to produce the original 34 eggs exactly as they were before scrambling.

Out of Abraham’s loins came Isaac by Sarah, Ishmael from Hagar, and six sons from Keturah, for a total of eight sons. Out of Ishmael’s loins came 12 sons.

Out of Isaac’s loins came two sons, Jacob and Esau. Out of Jacob’s loins came 12 sons.

The two articles on the same day from Arutz Sheva are typical of the scrambled egg situation in the Middle East, where the descendants of the 34 eggs have been scrambled in with the descendants of Ham, Shem, and Japheth, and all are at each others throats. Rattling the Saber in Damascus

Well, it looks like all that Western pandering to Syria in recent weeks is already bearing fruit.

Despite high profile visits of late to Damascus by EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana and Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, the Syrian regime has once again openly threatened to wage war against the Jewish state.

Speaking at a press conference in the Syrian capital on Monday, Syrian Information Minister Mohsen Bilal told reporters that if Israel does not go along with the Saudi peace initiative, then his country would not hesitate to take the Golan

Heights “by way of resistance.”

Similarly, last fall, Syrian President Bashar Assad made a series of public statements in which he threatened military conflict with Israel and expressed his desire to retake the Golan Heights by force.

In an interview with the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Anba on October 6, Assad said that Damascus was ready for war with the Jewish state, and prior to that he insisted that the Golan would be “liberated by Syrian arms,” warning Israel to “seek peace or face the threat of defeat.”

And so, once again, we see how efforts to appease the Syrian regime only serve to encourage its bellicosity and belligerence.

Instead of talking tough to Damascus, various Western leaders have preferred the path of appeasement. Not surprisingly, this is viewed as weakness by the Syrian leadership, which takes comfort in the fact that they can continue to act with impunity.

Syria Threatens War, Olmert Dismissive

(IsraelNN.com) Syrian President Bashar Assad said Wednesday that Syria is ready for a war with Israel. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Israel has no intention of starting that war.

“Syria grows stronger every day,” Assad told the Arabic Dar Al-Hayat daily, adding that Israel is a “bitter enemy.” He also said that contacts between Syria and Israel take place about once a month, with no results, due to Israel’s refusal to unilaterally withdraw from the Golan Heights. “We do not know whether war will take place, but we should not disregard this possibility,” Assad concluded.

Syrian Information Minister Mohsen Bilal said Sunday that, “If Israel rejects the Arab League peace proposal, resistance will be the only way to liberate the Golan Heights.”

Israel has annexed the Golan Heights, the high ground overlooking northern Israel, after liberating it from Syria in 1967 during the Six Day War. More than 40,000 Israeli Jews now live in the Golan.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert responded to the threats Wednesday before the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. He said Israel has no intention of attacking Syria and opined that Syria will not attack Israel either, but is talking about defending itself if attacked.

MK Israel Katz (Likud) slammed Olmert’s response to Assad’s war talk during the committee meeting.

“You are mistaken to think that the Syrians are increasing their strength for self defense,” he said, addressing the prime minister. “The Syrians are planning a terror attack in the Golan Heights in the summer and are building fortifications to prevent Israel from defending itself when the attack comes. You should be warning the Syrian president, not reassuring him,” Katz said.

A terror attack perpetrated by Hizbullah along the Lebanese border is what triggered the 2006 Second Lebanon War.

Syria Building Advanced Missile-Launch-Bunkers

The Christian Broadcasting Network has gone into further detail about Syria’s preparations for war. Missile expert Uzi Rubin describes what he terms “Syria’s Cape Canaveral,” referring to the headquarters of the American NASA space agency.

One installation features Syrian missile launchers housed in more than 30 huge concrete bunkers surrounding an operations command center.

“They learned the trick that even shorter-range missiles that are fired in salvos from multiple rocket launchers are very effective against Israel’s civilian population,” Rubin said.

Another military site includes a drive-through building were chemical warheads are stored.

“The Scud D can hit any point in Israel from the furthermost point in Syria near the Iraqi border,” Rubin says. “It was done specifically in order to have this range to hit every single point in Israel.”

UN Concerned

The UN Security Council issued an expression of “serious concern” Tuesday in response to concrete reports of the amassing of Syrian arms smuggled over the border to Lebanon.

The council dispatched a mission to assess the implementation of UN resolution 1701, which brought the Second Lebanon War to a close with guarantees that the UN would prevent the smuggling of arms to the Hizbullah from Syria.

The council called on Syria to take “further measures to prevent arms transfers.”

Islamic Jihad Ideology will not Change until Messiah Arrives!

Much of mankind is in differing degrees of fear that a great Middle East war is on the immediate horizon, because it is in denial Jesus Christ is the coming Messiah of the inspired Word of God known as the Bible.

I have no fear of the coming Middle East war because its end will be marked by the Second Advent of the Messiah, who is the guardian and keeper of my saved soul.

Indeed, I am looking forward to the beginning of the war because I have been watching for his coming for some 62 long years.

There is no manmade solution to the Middle East situation because all that we have seen go on there since 1948 is temporary and fluctuating, that is, except Islamic Jihad ideology, which is permanent and will be increasing until Messiah arrives.

I could not agree more with the statement Major General Yoav Galant makes in the final paragraph of his article,

which follows.

The Strategic Challenge of Gaza

Disengagement caused the terror organizations to turn to new terror methods such as Kassam rockets, tunnels, and crossing over from Gaza to Sinai and then into Israel’s Negev, as happened in January 2007 with a suicide bomber in Eilat.

The source of most of the knowledge of using mines, explosives, and anti-tank missiles is Iran, which is influencing Iraq, Lebanon, and Gaza. It is now possible for terrorists to move freely between Gaza and Egypt,

and from there to Syria, Lebanon, and Iran for training.

Iranians also come to Gaza to hold training exercises.

A few years ago, Fatah’s Al Aqsa Brigade in Judea and Samaria was bought out by Iran and activated against Israel according to Iranian instructions. The Iranians are using whatever they can in order to attack the West, and this is a major change in the situation in the region.

Israel left Gaza almost two years ago, and the Palestinians were left with natural gas, greenhouses, and fields. In other words, they had the option to take another route.

However, they chose the terror route and elected Hamas.

According to Israel’s estimation, Gaza will remain unstable because of certain basic factors having to do with population, territory, and resources.

Hamas’ leaders may give up using terror temporarily, but they will never give up their ideology. Knowing this helps Israel understand that even though a ceasefire cuts down on terror, it does not create a solution to the problem, since it is only temporary.

Maj.-Gen. Yoav Galant was appointed Head of the IDF Southern Command in 2005, after serving as Military Secretary to Prime Minister Sharon. He also served as Head of the Gaza Division, and as Head of the Naval Commando Unit.

The Iranian trail of trained guerillas and multiple military weaponry, has both tightened and extended its rope from Gaza Hamas to Lebanon Hizbullah to the numerous terrorist headquarters in Damascus to the Shiites and Sunnis in Iraq, and finally, the Taliban in Afghanistan.

I do not believe in announcing a time table for withdrawal, which does nothing for us, but gives aid and comfort to the enemy by allowing them to take more lives in profiting from knowing specific levels at certain times during the withdrawal. I am solidly opposed to the pork bill the Democrats are trying to force President Bush to sign to get the pork for their constituents and make him look bad if he doesn’t sign it.

As I have stated repeatedly, I believe it is impossible for a non-Muslim country to occupy a Muslim country in the Middle East and hold it for a long period of time. Simply st ated, we c

annot occupy and hold a nation in the Middle East because of organized guerilla warfare.

It was quite possible during the age of colonial conquest and occupation, but by the end of World War II it became impossible. The Soviets found it was true in Afghanistan, and I knew it would be

true in Iraq. This was the reason I was so certain we should go into Iraq, stay just long enough to get rid of Saddam, then quickly withdraw, and let the Shiites, Kurds, Sunnis and numerous other ethnic groups fight it out for supremacy. I was told that would destabilize the region. How could it be any more unstable than it is now?

Saudi foreign minister Saud al Faisal announced at the end of their Cairo meeting on April 18 that three teams will explain to world governments the plan’s importance and lobby for its implementation.

The fourth team will hold talks with Israel.

DEBKAfile adds: This is no breakthrough.

The team charged with discussing the Saudi plan with Israel is restricted to Egypt and Jordan, which are in any case in regular official contact with the Israeli government. This restriction bows to the Palestinian unity government’s demand to keep Arab governments which bar recognition from Israel out of contact with the Jewish state, lest this be interpreted as recognition. It also enabled Syria at the head of the radical bloc make the meeting’s decisions unanimous.

The Saudi plan stipulates Israel’s withdrawal to the pre-1967 boundaries, acceptance of Jerusalem as capital of the future Palestinian state and acceptance of the Palestinian refugees’ “right of return.”

Arab League secretary Amr Mussa repeated Wednesday his objections in principle to any Arab negotiations with Israel.

“Israel must first demonstrate a fundamental change in its policy towards the Palestinians,” he said.

In these circumstances, even if Israel accepts an invitation to join these narrow-based talks – presumably in Cairo or Sharm e-Sheikh – they will only produce condemnation for its refusal to accept the Saudi peace plan wholesale and unconditionally.

DEBKAfile Exclusive: Tehran arms Lebanese Hizballah militia with air defense missile wing as part of war build-up

April 15, on the eve of Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day, Hizballah and Iranian Revolutionary Guards commanders staged a grand ceremony at the Imam Ali base in northern Tehran to celebrate the launch of Hizballah’s anti-air missile wing.

They cheered the 500 Lebanese graduates of a course in the use of three anti-air missiles supplied by Iran:

The Sayyad 1 (Hunter), the Misagh 1 (Convention [with Allah]) and the Shahab Sagheb (Meteor), which is based on the Chinese Feimeng-80 system.

DEBKAfile’s military sources report that these new weapons will seriously restrict the Israeli Air Force’s tactical freedom over Lebanon. In the event of hostilities, Israeli warplanes will have to evade a dense array of Hizballah-operated anti-air missiles which will also defend the terrorist group’s surface rocket batteries.

Those sources disclose that the Iranian-Chinese missile has already been smuggled into Lebanon and is in Hizballah’s hands. It is designed to shoot down planes and helicopters flying at ultra-low altitudes under radar screens for surprise assaults on ground targets such as military bases, missile positions and artillery.

Ordinary radar and air defense missiles are mostly ineffective against these low-flying tactics. The new missile makes up for this shortcoming.

On March 7, the 500 Hizballah trainees flew out of Damascus airport for Tehran aboard two civilian airliners; on April 16, they returned home – again through the Syrian airport – after training in

the Imam Ali base under Iranian experts commanded by Iranian Col. Mohammed Mnafi.

DEBKAfile hears from military circles wry remarks to the effect that, while Israel’s heads of state and chief of staff solemnly declared: “Never again!” in speeches marking Holocaust Remembrance day, they are seriously short on action for curbing Hizballah-Hamas preparations for their next war on the Jewish state. Surface missiles are routinely smuggled into Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, unopposed.

But the arming of Iran’s Lebanese proxy with deadly anti-air missiles poses a new and extraordinarily threat to the Israeli Air Force and, moreover, prevents air attacks on the Hizballah batteries shooting rockets into Israel. Questions are being asked about how Israel’s policy-makers and top brass could have allowed 500 Hizballah trainees to fly out of Damascus airport unhindered and return as air defense specialists, highly trained for shooting missiles at the Israeli Air Force and preventing Israeli warplanes from halting surface rockets should they fly against Israeli civilian locations once more.

Are these Two Events Connected? Are we finally headed for the Brief False Peace before Israel is driven into the Negev?

I Thessalonians 5:3,4 – For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

[4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

Revelation 12:6 – And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

There are numerous terrorist factions among the Palestinians, such as Fatah,

Hamas, and al Aksa Martyrs Brigades, but there is one group that the Palestinians have never been able to stop launching Qassam rockets against Israel out of the Gaza Strip, namely the Islamic Jihad. So it was naturally a shocker to me when the Palestinian Authority had limited success in getting Islamic Jihad to stop launching for the next three weeks, as reported by the following extract from yesterday.

Hopefully, this event is tied to Event Number 2, and finally, this might be the initial stage of a brief false peace between Israelis and the PA.

Abbas reaches agreement with Islamic Jihad to halt Qassams

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has reached an agreement in principle with senior Islamic Jihad officials, whereby the organization would stop firing Qassam rockets at Israel for three weeks.

Israel Defense Forces sources confirmed there has been a sharp drop in rocket fire as a result of the agreement. Other attacks, however, such as sniper fire along the Gaza Strip security fence, have continued on a small scale.

Abbas and other senior Fatah officials have conducted an intensive effort to bring the Islamic Jihad into an agreement on renewing the tahadiyeh (calm) with Israel along the Gaza border. This is an internal Palestinian agreement, and not an accord with Israel.

Islamic Jihad has been the main perpetrator of rocket fire in recent months, and in many cases Hamas militants have given Islamic Jihad their rockets to fire at Israel.

The issue of restoring the tahadiyeh was also discussed in a Damascus meeting this week between former Palestinian prime minister Ahmed Qureia of Fatah and Islamic Jihad Secretary General Ramadan Salah.

It appears that while senior Fatah and Islamic Jihad officials have agreed to halt the rocket fire, Islamic Jihad militants have fired at least one rocket in recent days without tak

ing responsibility for the attack.

In addition, Abbas will apparently turn a blind eye to “low profile” attacks such as Hamas sniper fire and mortar fire on IDF outposts along the Gaza Strip.

In recent months, an average of 10 rockets were fired per week from the Gaza Strip into Israel. Last week, only three rockets were fired, according to the YeshaNews Web site, which tracks the number of rocket launches. This week, only two rockets have been fired.

There are two primary reasons behind Abbas’ initiative. One is an attempt to convince Israel to carry out a number of confidence-building measures in the West Bank, first and foremost the easing of restrictions on Palestinian travel between West Bank cities.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told Abbas during their meeting this week that he would be willing in principle to discuss the issue in two weeks, should Abbas succeed in achieving quiet along the Gaza border.

The second reason behind Abbas’ push is that the PA chairman intends to depart shortly for an extended visit to Europe, and the renewed calm would help him convince European leaders that the Palestinians are doing their part and that it is up to Israel to reciprocate with steps of its own.

A senior Islamic Jihad official in the Gaza Strip, Nafez Azzam, told Haaretz Tuesday that he has no information confirming

the agreement with Fatah.

Egypt, Jordan chosen to promote Saudi plan to Israel

The Arab League on Wednesday picked Egypt and Jordan to take the lead in approaching Israel to promote the Saudi-drafted peace plan to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Israel has praised the broad land-for peace offer but has said it will not accept the plan without some changes. However, Arab countries are hoping to pitch the plan as a basis for resuming Arab-Israeli peace negotiations.

Washington has also welcomed the Arab initiative, which calls for Israel to withdraw from lands taken in the Six Day War and negotiate a fair solution to the refugee issue in return for a full recognition of Israel by all Arab countries. The plan was introduced by Saudi Arabia in 2002 and revived during an Arab summit in Riyadh last month.

At the end of a meeting Wednesday at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, 12 Arab nations’ foreign ministers and their Palestinian counterpart selected Egypt and Jordan to approach Israel and push for the plan.

The two would try to “initiate direct talks” with Israel, “call on the Israeli government and all Israelis to accept the Arab peace initiative and to take this chance to resume the direct and serious talks on all levels,” Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal said at a press conference.

The meeting Wednesday was attended by Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, as well as the Palestinian envoy.

It also set up working groups to “explain the Arab vision” and drum up support for the initiative with the United States, United Nations and the European Union, “so that a peaceful settlement (with Israel) can be achieved within a limited time frame,” al-Faisal said.

Egypt and Jordan are the only two Arab countries that signed peace treaties with Israel, in 1979 and 1994 respectively, and regained territory lost in wars. Most Arab states insisted on a solution to the Palestinian problem before recognition of Israel.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has said the Arab plan’s full recognition of Israel would be a major breakthrough in Arab relations with the Jewish state but has flatly rejected the plan’s demand for the return of Palestinian refugees displaced in wars.

Also Wednesday, Jordan’s King Abdullah II urged Olmert during a phone conversation to “maintain the peace momentum” with the Palestinians and said that a timetable must be set to implement the Arab initiative, the Jordanian official Petra news agency reported.

A key US ally in the region and an advocate of a peaceful Arab-Israeli settlement, Abdullah has been pushing for reviving the peace process. In separate meetings this week with US Defense Secretary Robert Gates, as well as US and Palestinian peace activists, Abdullah said the Arab plan offers a “rare opportunity” for an Israeli-Palestinian settlement.

Jordanian foreign minister, Abdul-Ilah al-Khatib, who is expected to visit Israel soon, also rallied support for the plan in talks with Israeli counterpart, Tzipi Livni, during her visit to Jordan on Sunday.

Well-informed Jordan-based diplomats, who declined to be named because of the sensitivity of the subject, said that Livni expressed a preference that the Arab League not make direct contact with the Jewish state but that the contacts come through Jordan or Egypt.

Iran Is Seeking North Korea’s Nuclear Expertise

Iran and North Korea have appointed high-level delegations to deepen cooperation on nuclear weapons

technology, according to diplomatic sources in Beijing. The countries are keen to seal a deal before North Korea starts to close its Yongbyon reactor under the terms of an agreement with the U.S. and regional powers in February.

The U.S. State Department has demanded that North Korea should “immediately” invite the International Atomic Energy Agency to begin sealing the facility.

Iran has taken advantage of the delay to intensify attempts to negotiate a deal that would give Teheran access to the nuclear expertise North Korea acquired during last year’s atom bomb test. Iranian scientists have been invited to Pyongyang to study data collected from the test. Although North Korea has agreed to shut the Yongbyon reactor, the agreement puts no limits on North Korea to export the expertise it acquired from the test.

The Iranian delegation handling negotiations with North Korea reports directly to Reza Aghazadeh, the country’s vice president and the head of the Atomic Energy Organization. Meetings have taken place at the Chinese border city of Shenyang, because the Iranians are keen not to draw attention to their increased cooperation with Pyongyang.

Dangerous Dealings: North Korea’s Nuclear Capabilities and the Threat of Export to Iran

Iran appears to be North Korea’s most likely customer or partner for nuclear technologies. Iran seems to be on a determined path to nuclear weapons.

It began its covert uranium-enrichment program nearly 20 years ago but has only recently publicly demonstrated its ability to produce low-enriched uranium. However, the sale of plutonium represents the gravest and most immediate threat. Obtaining 10 to 20 kilograms of plutonium from North Korea, would catapult Iran into nuclear-weapon status.

North Korea is unlikely to encounter serious hurdles if it was to ship plutonium to Iran, and detecting such shipments would be very difficult.

Iran has money and oil, just what Pyongyang needs most. The two countries have long-standing collaborations in ballistic missiles dating back to the Iran-Iraq War. North Korea helped Iran establish a missile assembly facility and provided the required technical documentation for future production.

Key engineers and military personnel were exchanged on a regular basis, and missile cooperation continues today. If the six-party agreement falls through, Iran could help finance an expanded North Korean nuclear weapons program.
