The Temple Mount Faithful, who plan to rebuild the Temple to worship Messiah long before he actually appears to victoriously defeat Israel’s enemies, and then begins his Millennial Reign by ordering the Temple to be rebuilt, have once again gathered before the 2007 Passover.

They gather to demonstrate their determination to do the Messiah’s work, but well in advance of the ti me

the Scriptures indicate he will personally appear to do it himself, or to order it to be done. They are, in a sense, like early shoppers trying to force open store doors in the wee-hours of the morning, before the store has announced they would open for a sale at a certain time.

They indeed have a type of visible zeal for God, but not according to the Scriptures.

Temple Mount loyalists protest near site

Members of the Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement arrived at the Kotel Thursday in order to prepare for their Pessah demonstration, in hope of ascending the Temple Mount to conduct holiday prayers.

Demonstrators dressed in orange and gripping national flags arrived at the Mughrabi Gate late in the morning.

Police have been deployed throughout the area and are preparing for sudden outbreaks of aggressive action.

Meanwhile, up to 10,000 observant Jews have gathered at the Kotel to listen to Birkat HaCohamin (the priests’ blessing).

Police are allowing entrance to the Old City only for those holding authorized entrance permits.

Messiah will fulfill the office of both High Priest and King of Israel.

WILL THE TEMPLE BE REBUILT IN JERUSALEM?

I long ago lost count of the number of men and women who have reminded me that the temple MUST be rebuilt before Jesus returns. A majority of believers are certain that it must be rebuilt because Antichrist must set in it “showing himself that he is God.”

As a young man I believed that it would be rebuilt before Jesus returned. But as I studied the Greek language in Seminary, I began to say it would “probably” be rebuilt. I now do not believe it will be rebuilt until the Millennial reign of Jesus Christ. Why?

Much of what follows is quoted primarily from the “New Testament Greek-English Dictionary of the Complete Bible Library,” Volumes 13 and 14.

In the New Testament the word “hieron,” translated as “temple,” is found ONLY in the Gospels, in Acts, and in I Corinthians 9:13, where Paul’s ONLY use of the word appears as “temple.”

I Corinthians 9:13 – Jerusalem’s Literal Stone Temple

Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple (hieron) and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the

altar?

“Hieron” refers to the entire temple including its precincts and the temple hill or, in a limited sense, any portion of the temple, such as the court of the women (Luke 2:37) where Jesus stood before the altar after his triumphal entry into Jerusalem (Mark 11:11), the court of the Gentiles out of which Jesus drove the money changers (John 2:15), or the temple proper w here t

he veil separated the Holy Place from the Holy of Holies (Matthew 27:52). “Hieron” is ONLY used in a literal sense in the entire New Testament. This is in very sharp contrast to its closely related term “naos,” which is used both literally and figuratively in the New Testament. It is used figuratively at times to refer to the human body or a local church body.

I Corinthians 6:19 – The Human Body – Naos

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which

ye have of God, and ye are not your own

I Corinthians 3:16,17 – The Local Church Body – Naos

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? [17] If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which

temple ye are.

(All the “ye’s” in this verse are plural, and the “in” of verse 16 may be translated with equal validity as being “among” you, because “you” is plural.)

Now, let’s take a look at the word “naos,” translated as “temple” in the New Testament. “Naos” denotes the “dwelling place of a god.” Consequently, the “naos” was the inner “sanctuary” of a temple where the image of the God was placed, or where he dwelled. It is frequently translated as “temple,” but the association with the word “sanctuary” should not be overlooked.

The following verses contain ALL the uses of the word translated “temple” in the writings of the Apostle Paul.

TEMPLE – HIERON – I CORINTHIANS 9:13

Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?

(This is absolutely referring literally to the great temple of stone in the city of Jerusalem)

TEMPLE – NAOS – I CORINTHIANS 6:19

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

(This is absolutely referring to the body of someone who has experienced the new birth as figuratively being a temple)

TEMPLE – NAOS – I CORINTHIANS 3:16,17

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? [17] If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

TEMPLE – NAOS – II CORINTHIANS 6:16

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

(All the “ye’s” and the “them” and “they” are plural, and the two “in’s” may be translated as “among”)

TEMPLE – NAOS – EPHESIANS 2:21,22

In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: [22] In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

(The “ye” in verse 22 is plural)

It is perfectly obvious in the verses in the two books of Corinthians and Ephesians that Paul was not referring to the literal temple in Jerusalem, and it is also equally obvious he knew the distinction between “hieron” and “naos.” That is why his ONLY other use of the word “naos,” occurring in I Thessalonians 2:4, is so puzzling. I am convinced that if he meant the literal stone temple in Jerusalem, then he would have used the word “hieron.”

TEMPLE – NAOS – II THESSALONIANS 2:4

Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

The precise meaning of “naos” in this verse is uncertain.

I believe Paul pictures the Antichrist sitt ing on the temple mount

in a sinful body of flesh, with his inner soul and spirit claiming he is God to prove it to himself, and to show the world he is God. This would parallel his use of the word “naos” in I Corinthians 6:19. In any case, I Thessalonians 2:4 falls far short of proving that the temple must be rebuilt before the return of Jesus.

The companion Old Testament Scripture often used to link with I Thessalonians 2:2 to prove the temple must be rebuilt is Daniel 11:45.

Daniel 11:45 – And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

However, the word translated “palace” is “appeden.” It is never translated as “temple” in the entire Bible. So it means, in the context of this verse, that Antichrist returns to Jerusalem just before the battle of Armageddon, and puts up a command post palace pavilion on the temple mount, from which he plans to sit and direct the final battle. The tents (tabernacles – ohel) are the tents of all the troops from Europe, Eurasia, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa which have poured into Israel in answer to his call, and he will direct their final attack against Israel in the Negev from his “appeden” on the temple mount. I have heard about the rebuilding of this temple for some 54 years. For better or for worst, I do not

believe the temple will be rebuilt until Jesus returns.

I believe the fulfillment of the prophecies of God’s inspired Word is the one certainty in the turbulent and confusing Middle East situation. My wants and desires are predicated on that principle. This principle gives me a love for the approaching doom that must come on this earth.

It is true that some consider this a form of fatalism, and that one who bases a thought process on it, has a gloomy, unhappy lifestyle.

Nothing could be further from the truth, because I know who is going to eventually win at Armageddon, and what will happen to believers following it, and I am a believer with a glorious final eternal future, who “sees” the real purpose of life because Christ has given him

his eternal life.

Matthew 24:35 – Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

John 3:36 – He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

The aspiration of observing prophetic fulfillments, which will lead to the formation of a united Jihad coalition of 10 Islamic nations in the Middle East,

has been the motivational force behind my thought processes on what I desire to see happening

there on an event to event sequence.

Why was I in favor of American troops invading

Iraq?

I wanted to see Saddam Hussein ousted as the blocking Sunni force that kept the 10 Islamic nations of Daniel and Revelation from uniting into a Jihad against Israel,

because he would not be a part of it unless he was the leader of it. None of the rulers of Islamic countries trusted him as far as they could throw him.

Why did I want the American troops to withdraw after his capture?

Because, as long as they were there, they represented the blocking force that kept the 10 Islamic nations of Daniel and Revelation from uniting into a Jihad against Israel. As soon as they withdraw 10 Islamic nations will unite and attack Israel.

Why do I want to see 10 Islamic nations attack Israel?

Because it will fulfill the next five Scriptures!

Zechariah 13:8 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.

Revelation 12:6 – And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Matthew 24:21,22 – For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. [22] And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

Why do I want to see Israel go through these 1260 days of sheer terror?

Because it will end as the following Scriptures describe!

Zechariah 13:9 – And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.

Revelation 1:7 – Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Revelation 22:20 – He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Revelation 11:15 – And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Zechariah 14:8,9 – And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. [9] And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.

Why doesn’t the possibility of Clinton being the next President, Pelosi the Speaker of the House, and the Democrats in control of both houses, bother me in the least?

Because it will create a spirit of appeasement and compromise in this country to pave the way for an Islamic Antichrist to quickly arise in the Middle East, and create the setting for the Lord’s actions in Psalm 2.

Psalm 2:1-12 – Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? [2] The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, [3] Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. [11] Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. [12] Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Daniel 7:13,14 – I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. [14] And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

JERUSALEM – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit today to Syria – in which she called for dialogue with Damascus – was “brave” and “very appreciated” and could bring about “important changes” to America’s foreign policy, including talks with “Middle East resistance groups,” according to members of terror organizations here whose top leaders live in Syria.

One terror leader, Khaled Al-Batch, a militant and spokesman for Islamic Jihad, expressed hope Pelosi would continue winning elections, explaining the House speaker’s Damascus visit demonstrated she understands the Middle East.

Pelosi’s visit was opposed by President Bush, who called Syria a “state sponsor of terror.”

“Nancy Pelosi understands the area (Middle East) well, more than Bush and Dr. (Condoleeza) Rice,” said Al-Batch, speaking to WND from Gaza.

“If the Democrats want to make negotiations with Syria, Hamas, and Hezbollah, this means the Democratic Party understands well what happens in this area and I think Pelosi will succeed. … I hope she wins the next elections.”

Islamic Jihad has carried out scores of shootings and rocket attacks, and, together with the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades terror group, has taken responsibility for every suicide bombing in Israel the past two years.

Ramadan Shallah, overall chief of Islamic Jihad, lives in Syria, as does Hamas chieftain Khaled Meshaal. Israel has accused the Syrian-based Hamas and Islamic Jihad leadership of ordering militants in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to carry out terror attacks.

Al-Batch expressed hope Pelosi and the Democratic Party will pressure Bush to create dialogue with Syria and Middle East “resistance movements” and prompt an American withdrawal from Iraq.

“Bush and Dr. Rice made so many mistakes in the Middle East. Just look at Palestinian clashes and Iraq. But I think some changes are happening for the Bush administration’s foreign policy because of the hand of Nancy Pelosi. I think the Democratic Party can do things the best. … Pelosi is going down a good road by this policy of dialogue,” he said.

Abu Abdullah, a leader of Hamas’ military wing in the Gaza Strip, said the willingness by some lawmakers to talk with Syria “is proof of the importance of the resistance against the U.S.”

“The Americans know and understand they are losing in Iraq and the Middle East and that their only chance to survive is to reduce hostilities with Arab countries and with Islam. Islam is the new giant of the world.”

“Pelosi’s visit to Syria was very brave. She is a brave woman,” Jihad Jaara, a senior member of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades terror group and the infamous leader of the 2002 siege of Bethlehem’s Church of the Nativity, told WND.

“I think it’s very nice and I think it’s much better when you sit face to face and talk to (Syrian President Bashar) Assad. It’s a very good idea. I think she is brave and hope all the people will support her. All the American people must make peace with Syria and Iran and with Hamas. Why not?” Jaara said.

Pelosi, the most senior U.S. official to visit Syria in two years, sat next to Assad earlier today in front of camera crews before starting their meeting at his hilltop palace overlooking Damascus. The Syrian president then reportedly took Pelosi to lunch at a restaurant in a restored house in Damascus’ historic district, according to witnesses.

At a press conference after the meeting, Pelosi said that during her talks with Assad she “determined that the road to Damascus is the road to peace.”

“We came in friendship, hope,” she said.

The House speaker also said she conveyed an Israeli message to Assad that the Jewish state was ready to resume peace talks.

“(Our) meeting with the president enabled us to communicate a message from Prime Minister (Ehud) Olmert that Israel was ready to engage in peace talks as well,” Pelosi told reporters.

Syria has demanded a complete Israeli withdrawal from the Golan Heights, strategic mountainous territory that looks down on Israeli and Syrian population centers twice used by Syria to mount invasions into Israel.

Syria, which signed a military alliance with Iran, openly hosts Hamas and Islamic Jihad leaders. Israel says Syria has been allowing large quantities of weapons to be transported from its borders to the Lebanese-based Hezbollah militia, which last summer engaged in a war with the Jewish state.

Syria has been accused of supporting the insurgency against U.S. troops in Iraq; generating unrest in Lebanon; and has been widely blamed for the 2005 assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

Bush criticized visits by Pelosi and other lawmakers saying they sent “mixed messages” to the region and undermined U.S. policy.

“Photo opportunities and/or meetings with President Assad lead the Assad government to believe they’re part of the mainstream of the international community,” Bush told reporters in Washington. “In fact, they’re a state sponsor of terror.”

Pelosi is not the only lawmaker to recently visit Syria. A congressional delegation including three Republicans traveled to Damascus Sunday stating they believe there is an opportunity for dialogue with the Syrian leadership.

Last month, Ellen Sauerbrey, the U.S. assistant secretary of state for population, refugees and migration, held talks in Damascus in a public gesture widely seen as an expression of Washington’s willingness to engage Damascus.

We titled our previous BLOG as: “Will Mudville Ahmadinejad Strike Out?” Then followed it with a perversion of the famous “Casey at the Bat” – “Somewhere the Sun is Shinn ing

and somewhere Fanatics shout, but there will be no War this Weekend, if Iranian Radicals Strike Out!”

The DEBKAfile article quote in our previous BLOG was systematic to our title, and read as follows.

“DEBKAfile reports that up until now, the moderate pragmatists are on top of the debate. Forcing the radical president to postpone his press conference

gave them a victory. But the debate continues and is still unresolved.”

Well, happily, the moderate pragmatists won the debate, and President Ahmadinejad struck out, which created joy in Great Britain

and the free world. But, as I have maintained for some time, at some point in time the Islamic radicals will gain control in the terrorist countries.

My guesstimate is it will be at a point in time between 2008 and 2012. I believe the final war of this age will begin in the Middle East at some point in time after 2008 begins and before 2012 ends.

How do I know the Islamic Radical’s ideology will eventually become the predominant mindset of the Islamic world? How do I know Islamic pragmatists will eventually lose to the radicals, thereby instigating the final war in the Middle East? Iranian TV: British sailors will leave Teheran on Thursday

Iranian state television on Wednesday showed British sailors talking to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the country’s presidential palace apparently as they were being released.

The footage showed Ahmadinejad shaking hands with the sailors and smiling and chatting.

A caption to the footage said the conversation was taking place as part of the “process of release” of the British sailors.

The channel said that the British sailors would leave Iran on a plane

on Thursday.

At the meeting, the sailors were wearing suits and spoke to the president through a translator.

“We appreciate it. Your people have been really kind to us, and we appreciate it very much,” one of the seized sailors could be heard on the footage saying in English to Ahmadinejad.

One the sailors also was heard saying in English: “We are grateful for your forgiveness.” Ahmadinejad responded in Farsi “You are welcome.”

Earlier Wednesday the Iranian president had announced in a press conference that he had pardoned

the 15 British sailors and marines that Iran seized in the Gulf last month and would release them immediately.

“I announce the freedom and return [of the sailors] to the people of Britain. I request the government

of Mr. Blair not to question these people or put them on trial for speaking the truth, and I request Mr. Blair that rather than increase international controversy and the occupation of other lands, [he should] take steps towards peace, truthfulness and justice,” Ahmadinejad said.

“On the occasion of the birthday of the great prophet (Muhammad) … and for the occasion of the passing of Christ, I say the Islamic Republic government and the Iranian people – with all powers and legal right to put the soldiers on trial – forgave those 15,” he continued, referring to the Muslim prophet’s birthday last Saturday and Easter, next Sunday.

“This pardon is a gift to the British people,” he said.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s office says it “welcomes” the release of the sailors but are still studying the implications of such a gesture and shall release an official reaction only after they have properly assessed the news.

The Iranian president announced the pardon minutes after he gave medals of honor to the Iranian coast guards who intercepted the sailors and marines, saying Iran will never accept trespassing of its territorial waters.

“On behalf of the great Iranian people, I want to thank the Iranian Coast Guard who courageously defended and captured those who violated their territorial waters, the president told a press conference.

He then interrupted his speech and pinned medals on the chests of three Coast Guard officers involved in capturing the British sailors and marines in the northern Gulf on March 23.

“We are sorry that British troops remain in Iraq and their sailors are being arrested in Iran,” Ahmadinejad said.

He criticized Britain for deploying Leading Seaman Faye Turney, one of the 15 detainees, in the Gulf, pointing out that she is a woman with a child. “How can you justify seeing a mother away from her home, her children? Why don’t they respect family values in the West?” he asked of the British government.

The announcement came 45 minutes after the beginning of his speech about the grievances Iran has suffered from the hands of the West over history.

DEBKAfile Exclusive: A secret British military delegation arrives in Tehran, as Ahmadinejad pushes for an immediate military confrontation with the UK and US

In a second take from Tehran, DEBKAfile’s exclusive sources continue coverage of the top-level Iranian debate on how to dispose of the 15 British captives seized on March 23.

The fierce – often strident – debate between pragmatists and radicals prompted supreme ruler Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who leads the first camp, to order president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who speaks for the radicals, to call off his planned news conference on Tuesday, April 3. The president had intended to unveil an important advance in the national nuclear program; he certa inly did not mean to augur a breakthrough

in the 12-day hostage crisis.

In the ongoing debate, the president and his radical followers seek to use the British captives to goad the British, followed by the Americans, into a limited military confrontation in the Persian Gulf.

Iran would then exploit its local edge to teach the West that it is not worth their while to mess with the Islamic Republic in a full-blown war or count on trouncing it easily.

DEBKAfile’s sources in Tehran report that it is hard to predict which way the dispute will go. There were moments on Monday and Tuesday when it looked as though the Khamenei line for ending the crisis, backed also by supreme national security advisers Ali Larijani, would prevail.

Larijani came out Monday night with the encouraging statement that there was no need to put the captured British sailors on trial and the crisis could be solved through bilateral diplomacy. He said a delegation might come to Tehran to review the points at issue.

Tuesday, a British military delegation did indeed arrive secretly in Tehran.

Larijani’s statement was the outcome of back-channel talks between Tehran and London, partly by videoconference, in which the British promised to de-escalate their tone and calm the situation, in return for an Iranian pledge that the captives would not be tried.

London allowed the 15 sailors to admit they had trespassed into Iranian waters, while Tehran agreed to suspend further television footage. London also offered to help work for the release of the five Revolutionary Guards al-Quds Brigade officers captured by US agents in Baghdad. One of them, second secretary at the Baghdad embassy, Jalal Sharafi, was indeed set free Tuesday.

The British even offered to obtain for Iran information on the whereabouts of the missing

Iranian general Ali Reza Asgari, believed to have defected to the West in February.

Our sources add that the radical faction of the Iranian leadership is still working hard to derail the positive diplomatic track and use the crisis to bring about a military escalation in the Gulf. Ahmadinejad is supported in this by the Revolutionary Guards commander Gen.

Yahya Rahim Safavi and RG Navy chief, Gen. Morteza Saffar. They are stirring up public opinion to back them up in the hope of bring the supreme ruler round to their view – so far without success.

To further this campaign, the president’s followers organized Sunday’s protest at the British embassy in Tehran and had the Bassij (the RGs civilian militia) round up a student petition at Iran’s 266 universities and colleges for putting the 15 British sailors and marines on trial and executing them. This would h ave been

a provocation that the British could not pass over without drastic action.

DEBKAfile reports that up until now, the moderate pragmatists are on top of the debate. Forcing the radical president to postpone his press conference gave them a victory. But the debate continues and is still unresolved.

As U.S. House Speaker Pelosi had President Assad swing wide His Doors to Her in Syria, Her Lebanese counterpart, the House Speaker in Lebanon, closed the Chambers Doors to those Ministers who want to bring Assad to Trial for the Murder of Former Lebanese President Rafik Hariri.

But, never mind, Pelosi assured the American Public in our last blog on her trip to Damascus, “saying she had ‘great hope’ for reviving relations with Syria and changing its behavior.”

Perhaps her plan to cut off funding

to American troops and establishing a time table, so Syria will know when our troops will pull out, will revive relations with Syria and change its behavior.

Perhaps she will return with a signed agreement shouting “Peace in our Times.”

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, a key opposition figure, locked out pro-government lawmakers from the chamber Tuesday, refusing to call the legislature into session to approve an international tribunal to try suspects in the assassination of a former prime minister.

It was the third attempt in as many weeks by lawmakers from the anti-Syrian majority to try and force Berri to open the chamber’s doors and call a session.

Opposition legislators also came to the downtown building housing parliament to counter the gathering of the majority lawmakers, but the standoff ended peacefully.

Tuesday’s events have deepened both the paralysis in Parliament and the political crisis in Lebanon, which has since December been buffeted by an opposition campaign to bring down the Western-backed government of Prime Minister Fuad Saniora.

Politicians from the anti-Syrian parliamentary majority have accused Syria of attempting to undermine the country’s independence through its allies in Lebanon’s opposition. They say Syria, which they blame for the 2005 assassination of former prime minister Rafik Hariri, aims to scuttle the formation of the court.

Syria has denied involvement in Hariri’s assassination in a truck bombing.

The quarrel between the two sides has stirred political and sectarian tensions, threatening to tear the country apart.

Nine people were killed in street clashes since December between pro- and anti-government supporters.

The power struggle has paralyzed other branches of the government. President Emile Lahoud, a staunch pro-Syrian Christian, is boycotted by his prime minister and

his allies in the anti-Syrian majority. Saniora also is in dispute with Berri.

Berri and Lahoud consider the Cabinet unconstitutional after six pro-Hezbollah Cabinet ministers – all five Shi’ite Muslim representatives and a Christian – resigned in November. They argue that with the departure of all Shi’ite members, the Cabinet was unconstitutional because it breaches a Christian-Muslim power-sharing pact.

Saniora, however, continues to enjoy international and Arab support.
