European Nations – Please do not Restore Funding to PA Terrorists!

Some European nations seem determined to provide financial aid to the suicidal children of the Islamic Godzilla, doing so in the hope it will stop the fanatical Jihad goal of world transformation to the worship of Allah as the only God. Islamic Jihad is not a belief the free world should try to placate, change, or financially aid – It is a belief whose followers must be fought with the tenacity of “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, and a life for a life.” This is the only kind of diplomacy the many adherents

of Islamic Jihad understand. Love, kindness, charity, discussions, and willingness to compromise, are looked upon as weaknesses, and a sure sign they can win a war with such lily-livered enemies.

Even though I believe a Middle East war is inevitable, it is ridiculous for some Western nations to even consider funding the Hamas Godzilla, who is a part of the reason it is inevitable.

No Aid to Terror

It is indisputable that Hamas is employing the current cease-fire to prepare for a Hizbullah-style war with Israel. Shin Bet head Yuval Diskin recently told the Knesset that Hamas had smuggled in 13 tons of military-quality explosives, six times as much as was brought in during previous terrorism offensives against Israel. Hamas is also bringing in missiles and antitank weapons, extending the range of its rockets, and digging underground fortifications – all on the Hizbullah model and with that organization and Iran’s assistance.

This cannot be seen as a defensive buildup, because Hamas knows full well that Israel has no interest in taking military action in Gaza except in response to terrorist attacks.

There is not a single Israeli soldier or civilian left for Israel to defend in Gaza. The last thing Israel wants to do is fight a war there.

Hamas is busy preparing for the war that at some point it will choose to start.

Hamas’s actions speak even louder than its words, which also leave little to the imagination.

Accordingly, the reasons

the Quartet cut off relations with the PA in the wake of the formation of the first Hamas-led government are as valid as ever. Indeed, Western assistance to the PA should have been cut off long before that election, for the simple reason that the PA, even under Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, would not lift a finger to stop terror attacks against Israel.

The international community cannot have it both ways. It cannot say it wants terrorism against Israel to stop, while opening ties with and bankrolling a PA that is preparing to launch the next terror war.

As it is, the UN reports that aid to the PA has actually risen – to more than $1.2 billion per year – since Hamas came to power.

This Western assistance is nominally channelled to avoid the Hamas government, while Iran provides additional aid directly to Hamas.

Why would Norway and perhaps France, in the interest of peace, join Iran in aiding Hamas directly? To call this unserious is to be charitable.

The Quartet certainly should not follow suit, and should instead tighten sanctions against the PA if it wants to work to stop the countdown to the next war.

There are not a lot of Ariel Sharon Type Leaders waiting in the Wings!

Ariel Sharon was, in my opinion, one of Israel’s greatest leaders. There are very few leaders in Israel today that are his equal in courage and the constitution to resist compromise. There are a lot of politicians today in the Knesset, but few with the boldness to take the actions necessary to make the Palestinians consider the consequences of their actions.

I am aware of only one man I respect at the level of Ariel Sharon, the head of the Likud Party, Benjamin Netanyahu. I believe him to be a man that will stand firm against the newly formed PA terrorist government, but he is not a popular man in political circles, and his chances to once again rise to the office of Prime Minister are slim.

I do not believe anything or anyone is going to be able to prevent a great war in the Middle East, but I cannot think of anyone better qualified to be the leader as Prime Minister when it begins.

I am afraid that the Haaretz article by Uzi Benziman, carrying his assessment of the state of current affairs in Israel, is a very accurate one. I once had an elderly Israeli friend, when I was a teenager in the forties, who owned a large general merchandise store on Asher Avenue in Little Rock. He had a brother whose name I recall to be Uzi, and his name was Izzy. He had a large sign in his store window that stated, “Keep Izzy Busy.” I believe my friends in Israel are headed for a very busy time of conflict, and my prayers have long been with them and for them.

I have loved Israel from my youth.

Semblance of a Demented Country

In the circumstances that developed after Ariel Sharon sank into a coma, Ehud Olmert was a perfectly reasonable candidate for prime minister, judging by what was known of his biography on election day.

His public experience and qualifications were equal to if not greater than those of his rivals in Kadima and other parties. There is also no doubt that since his election, Olmert has been doing his best to succeed in the job. And yet, the result is so disappointing that last week he was forced to make the “I’m an unpopular prime minister” speech, which was a plea for the public’s mercy as much as a declaration of resoluteness and adherence to the cause. The gap between his intentions and their results, between

the self-image and actual performance, requires examination.

Olmert is a reflection of domestic politics.

The Israeli public arena is filled with people whose pretenses exceed their abilities.

Suffice it to look at the scramble triggered last week by the Winograd Committee’s announcement. Self-declared c andidates

and those of political groups and factions jockeyed for position in the premiership race even before the committee published its interim report and before it transpired whether Olmert will have to resign.

The list of people striving to replace Olmert raises the question of what makes them better than he to lead the state and to what extent the promise for which they pretend to stand can be kept

? With all due respect to every one of them, is Meit Sheetrit, Shaul Mofaz or Avi Dichter the harbinger of a new era? Is Tzipi Livni likely to extract Israel from its distress

? Is Shimon Peres, at his age, the optimal alternative to bear the burden of the task at hand? Has Benjamin Netanyahu been born again? And are those wishing to inherit from Amir Peretz in Labor endowed with unique qualities with an obvious advantage over their rivals in Kadima and the Likud?

The contradiction between the expectations and the results exists not only within the political arena but also in its relations with the public.

The citizens choose their leaders hoping they are capable of running the state’s affairs. Reality is frequently different.

Not only because the elected officials’ performance is disappointing, but also because the challenges they face are inestimably more complicated than they appeared to be on election day.

The uncertainty inherent in running the affairs of state yields unexpected developments to which the right response is a hair’s breadth different from the wrong one. More than once knowing what is the proper response to evolving situations only becomes clear retroactively.

But the public expects, justifiably, that its leaders be skilled in making the right decisions in real time.

The second Lebanon war demonstrated the gaps between the political and military leaders’ self-image and their qualifications, and the distance between the public’s expectations and the government’s performance.

As a result of this discrepancy, the political arena is knocked for a loop.

The ruling party is merely a hollow shell, its main coalition partner is divided by intrigue and on the verge of disintegration, and the main opposition party’s parliamentary strength is no more than 10 percent of the parliament.

All three parties are dividing the spoils before the contest has been waged. They all have their eye on the prime minister’s seat before it has been vacated, making such a hullabaloo that Israel looks like a demented country.

A government is not some technicality; it is legitimized only by voters. No political shenanigans, even if technically in order, can give Kadima, Labor or Likud leaders any authority to run the country if Olmert does go.

There is no other way to win the public’s confidence but to hold new elections, focusing on Israel’s situation after the war.

It is difficult to see how a different cabinet would be able, with the incumbent Knesset, to rally the nation to the flag, including another military campaign, as the military leaders and Shin Bet security service are recommending in view of Hamas’ gaining strength in Gaza.

West cannot win a Gentleman’s War against Religious Islamic Fanatics!

The bleeding hearts of Hollywood and flaming liberals have handcuffed the American Military to fight a war most liberals do not believe is justified. So if the Marquis of Queensbury rules are even slightly bent, they violently cry out, “This make’s us no better than them.”

Additionally, most liberals expect Israel to be 100 percent effective in eliminating all collateral damage to the Palestinian civilian population in their air and ground strikes and attacks. But it seems quite alright for Palestinian suicide bombers to be 100 percent effective in killing as many Israeli civilians as possible.

We expect the U.S. and Israeli militaries to conduct themselves like little Lord Fauntleroy while they go against Jack the Ripper. I do not agree with everything the Christian Arab says in the article by Hillel Fendel, which follows, but having lived among the followers of Islam, I do agree with the gist of it.

He thinks a Middle East war can be avoided – I DO NOT! But I do agree we are trying to fight the war with one hand behind our backs!

Christian-Arab Predicts World Islam Takeover – Unless…

“When will you Westerners realize that

half-measures don’t work with people who are willing to die by the thousands for Allah to achieve their goal

?” This was the upshot of a recent conversation between a Holocaust survivor living in Herzliya and a Christian-Arab living in the Galilee.

Following are excerpts from the Christian-Arab’s remarks, based on article by Solly Ganor for FrontPage Magazine:

“I have to tell you something which very few of you seem to comprehend. Your [Israel’s] bungling war against a few thousand Hizbullah fighters which you should have crushed no matter what, considering the importance of the outcome, has created a completely new situation, not only for this area, but globally. Your inept leadership totally misunderstood the importance of winning this war.

“As a matter of fact, the whole Moslem world, not only the Arabs, simply couldn’t believe that the mighty Israeli Army tha t defea

ted the combined Arab forces in six days in 1967, and almost captured Cairo and Damascus in 1973, couldn’t defeat a small army of Hizbullah men. As usual the Moslems see things the way they want to see things. Most think that the present generation of Israelis have gone soft and can be defeated.

“The American bungling of the war in Iraq only added to their conviction that vic tory

not only over Israel but also over the West is not only possible, but certain. The ramifications of these two bungling wars may bring an Islamic bloody Tsunami all over the West, not only in Israel. The sharks smell blood and these two wars gave them the green light to attack sooner than they had in mind. Your problem is that you are on the defensive and they have the option to choose the time and the places when and where to attack and there is nothing much you can do about it.

“When will you Westerners realize that half-measures don’t work with people who are willing to die by the thousands for Allah to achieve their goal? In their eyes the Western World is simply an abomination on earth that has to be wiped out.

“The Americans, the Europeans, and even you Israelis really don’t know what it is all about, do you? During the last generation hundreds of thousands of children have been taught all over the Moslem world in Madrass schools to become martyrs for Allah in order to kill the infidels. These youngsters not only are ready to do it, but are actually in the process of doing it. Bombs are going off all over the world killing and maiming thousands of people, not only on 9/11 in the US, in London Madrid and Bali, but in Africa, India, Bangladesh, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and many other places.

The first signs of the Islamic Tsunami are already here, but the West doesn’t understand, or doesn’t want to understand what is coming.

“The Americans, instead of realizing that this is as bad as World War Two, or even worse, are going to pull out of Iraq, handing it over to Iran on a silver platter. Next may come the Saudis and the rest of the Gulf states.

When dirty bombs go off all over Western towns, who is going to stop the Iranians?

“Now is the time to stop them, not only because they are developing nuclear bombs, but because Iran has become the base for all Islamic terrorism. They supply money, men, and weapons to Islamic terrorists around the world, quite often through their diplomatic mail… They believe, and perhaps rightly so, that the West will do nothing to stop them in achieving their goals.

Is history repeating itself?

“As a history teacher who studied the subject thoroughly, I can tell you that Western victory in World War Two was not at all certain. Hitler could have won the war if he would have gone ahead with the atomic bomb development before the Americans. The Germans began working on it in the thirties, and it was Hitler’s decision to prefer building more conventional arms, as he considered atomic weapons sheer fantasy. Hitler made the wrong decision, but had he made the right decision the world would have been a different type of world today, wouldn’t it? The West won the war against Hitler by sheer chance.

Very few people seem to realize that.

“Coming back to our time, the Iranians rely on the West doing nothing about their development of nuclear bombs.

They also rely on their secret weapon: an inexhaustible supply of Islamic suicide bombers, some of them who are already planted all over the Western World. Besides the Islamic countries that supply these suicide bombers, a second front has been opened, and that is the Internet with more than five thousand Islamic web sites, brain washing and urging young Moslems to become martyrs for Allah. They especially target young Moslems who live in Europe and the West in general. The Western intelligence authorities consider these web sites a bigger threat than the Iranian atomic bomb.

“I think Hizbullah will attack again as soon as they are fully re-equipped and I think it will be during the summer, while Israel is still in a military and political turmoil… This time you will have to destroy Hizbullah no matter what the cost may be.

“Of course, your next round against Hizbullah may involve the Syrians and the Iranians against you. The Iranians declared that they will not allow Hizbullah to be defeated no matter what and may launch their missiles against you.

So will the Syrians. What will Israel do

? It is unlikely that Israel will accept its destruction and may use their nuclear arsenal if the West will not come to their help…

“I think there are two ways to avoid [this Armageddon]. One can be a major war which the West can win. As in World War Two, had the West attacked the Germans in 1936 the war would have lasted not more than a month with very few casualties.

Their procrastination resulted in World War II with all its consequences. Eventually, the West will have to tackle the Iranians, it is better that they do it now to avert a world catastrophe later.

With Iran defeated the Islamic onslaught will lose its base, and it may be the turning point in history to defeat the menace of extreme Islam. The majority of the Moslems don’t want this confrontation anyway.

“[Alternatively,] all the West has to do is follow Putin’s ways. He assassinates his enemies without blinking an eye. Assassinate the four or five Mullahs who run the show, Ahmadinejad and a few more Iranian fanatics, and the War can be avoided. It may be difficult to do, but not impossible. With today’s hi-tech technology I am sure that new weapons against individuals are being prepared right now. I think it would be a better way of handling the matter than an all-out war against Islam.”

It is not easy to get intelligence from an Islamic Republic under the rule of harsh Islamic law

and dictatorship. Under such circumstances it is necessary to get intelligence by separating the sources from the source of reprisals to obtain it.

Iran Threatens to Kidnap Americans and Israelis, Claims Western Intelligence Is Kidnapping Senior Revolutionary Guard Officers

Iran is threatening to retaliate in Europe for what it claims is a daring undercover operation by Western intelligence services to kidnap senior officers in its Revolutionary Guard.

Writing in Subhi Sadek, the Revolutionary Guard’s weekly paper, Reza Faker, who is believed to be close to President Ahmadinejad, warned, “Iran has enough people who can reach the heart of Europe and kidnap Americans and Israelis.”

According to Iranian sources, several officers have been abducted in the past three months. Earlier this month, Ali Reza Asgari, former commander of the Revolutionary Guard’s elite Quds Force in Lebanon and deputy defense minister, vanished during a trip to Istanbul. Last week it was revealed that Col.

Amir Muhammed Shirazi, another high-ranking Revolutionary Guard officer, had disappeared.

A third Iranian general is also understood to be missing – the head of the Revolutionary Guard in the Persian Gulf.

“This is no longer a coincidence, but rather an orchestrated operation to shake the higher echelons of the Revolutionary Guard,” said an Israeli source.

Tehran is notorious for settling scores.

When the Israelis killed Abbas Mussawi, Hizbullah’s general secretary, in 1992, Iran’s Quds Force blew up the Israeli embassy in Argentina in revenge.

Every day, Syria, Iran, Hizbullah, Hamas, and all the other Terrorist Groups across the Middle East, are preparing for a great war that I guesstimate is likely to begin between 2008 and 2012, and nothing is going to stop it from eventually happening, no matter when it actually begins.

I remember 1936 quite well. My beloved Aunt Mae died that year. I also remember the Joe Louis vs the German Max Schmeling fight.

Most American families, ours no exception, that were fortunate enough to have a crystal set or radio, had their ears glued to them. You had to be there to appreciate it. I also remember how everyone would listen to the news coming out of Europe, and fantasize it would all just go away, and the strange fellow, with the weird little clump of hairs beneath his nose, would just die or something, and we could stop worrying about a world war. But, in September of 1939, we had to stop fantasizing about Europe having peace when Hitler invaded Poland, and then we started fantasizing how we could stay out of World War II. But all fantasizing ended on December 7, 1941. The weird little man kept saying the Jews needed to be destroyed and, sure enough, he did what he could to accomplish what he said, murdering some six million of them.

I am somewhat surprised I have lived long enough to see what amounts to an inst

ant replay of the thirties in the last century. We now have a weird little man with an ugly growth of hair from sideburn to sideburn. And he is shouting threats just like the weird little German of my youth, and saying the Jews need to be destroyed. If I am correctly interpreting Zechariah 13:8, what Iranian President Ahmadinejad desires shall also eventually come to pass in the Middle East, just like it did in Europe.

Zechariah 13:8 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.

Apparently, Europe is going to do the same thing it did about the weird little man in the thirties, and we are going to follow roughly the same pattern we did from 1934 to 39. Then suddenly a massive Jihad will be launched against Israel from the north by ten Islamic nations, and a lot of end time prophecy will rapidly begin to be fulfilled. But I am not at all worried about it, because I already know what if going to happen, and how it is

going to end some three and one half years after it begins.

Zechariah 13:9 – And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.

Revelation 12:6 – And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Luke 21:25-28 – And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; [26] Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. [27] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. [28] And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Ephesians 4:30 – And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Well, my beloved Aunt Mae went to be with the Lord in 1936, and Nazis invaded Poland in 1939.

My wonderful Hero Uncle, Colonel Thomas U. McElmurry, the finest and bravest human I ever knew, who flew 136 combat missions in WW II, has now gone to be with the same Lord.

I hope I am correct about my interpretation of the aforementioned timing of the attack against Israel.

In any case, Korea and Vietnam are behind me, and soon I will go on to be with the same Lord – What a future!

The two articles, which follow, are typical of war preparations being made by radical Middle East Islamic countries and their many terrorist groups from Morocco to India.

Ban concerned over arms smuggling in Lebanon, Israeli overflights

UNITED NATIONS – UN chief Ban Ki-moon, in a report seen here Wednesday, has expressed concern about the ”reported activities of unauthorized armed elements” in Lebanon and has urged Israel to end its air incursions into Lebanese airspace.

The report, a copy of which w

as obtained by AFP, reviews implementation of Security Council resolution 1731, which ended the 34-day war between Israel and Hezbollah guerrillas last August.

“I am concerned by the reported activities of unauthorized armed elements outside of UNIFIL (the UN Interim Force in Lebanon)’s areas of operations,” Ban said, insisting that successful implementation of 1701 requires “the disarmament of all armed groups in Lebanon”.

Referring to Israel’s repeated concerns over arms smuggling into Lebanon from Syria, Ban noted that information provided by the Israeli military was “substantial.”

But, he said, “its authentication would require independent military assessment.”

He meanwhile called on Israel “to review its policy of overflights through Lebanese airspace, which are a continuing violation of 1701, and most urgently to provide the United Nations with all information on cluster munitions” fired during last year’s conflict.

The UN secretary general noted that Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora had expressed his country’s “frustration with continuing Israeli overflights, the rising civilian toll caused by Israeli cluster bombs and slow progress on the issue of the (disputed) Shebaa Farms.”

Israel says the overflights are necessary to monitor what it charges is rampant arms smuggling to Hezbollah from neighbouring Syria.

Meanwhile Ban appealed to Syria, Iran and other regional states ”to do all they can to ensure the provisions of Resolution 1701 are fully respected.”

On the Shebaa Farms, Ban noted that “there is no alternative but to move forward on this issue, albeit with due diligence.”

He pressed for the “full cooperation” of Lebanon, Syria and Israel in helping develop “an accurate territorial definition” of the disputed territory.

Lebanon has claimed sovereignty over the 25 square kilometers (10 square miles) of land located along the Lebanon-Syria-Israeli borders, which Israel captured from Syria during the 1967 Arab-Israeli war and then annexed along with the rest of the Golan Heights.

The UN has offered to manage the territory, which has been a central pretext for Hezbollah’s ongoing battle against the Jewish state after Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon in 2000, until a final settlement is negotiated.

The secretary general also cited growing criticism in Israel that 1701 has failed to address “issues of most concern to Israelis” such as the return of soldiers captured by Hezbollah and the Palestinian militant movement Hamas and the reported arms smuggling across the Syrian-Lebanese border.

Visiting Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni raised the issue along with all aspects of implementation of 1701 in a meeting with Ban here Wednesday, which was also attended by Israeli Defence Minister Amir Peretz.

Syria rejects UN plan for civilian monitors on border with Lebanon

Syria has told the United Nations that it opposes a UN plan to deploy civilian monitors along its border with Lebanon in an effort to prevent weapons from being smuggled from Syria to Hezbollah.

In talks over the last few weeks, Syrian authorities threatened to completely close the border if such forces are deployed on the Lebanese side.

The UN plan is aimed at providing a way out of stalled talks on enforcing an embargo on weapons going into Lebanon, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which was passed after Israel’s war with Hezbollah last summer.

Several weeks ago, UN officials raised the issue with Israeli officials in the Foreign and Defense Ministries. Israel sees the proposal as positive, but the government has so far refrained from taking a public position on it – at least in part because it does not want to sabotage efforts to convince Syria and the Lebanese government to agree on it. Sources knowledgeable about the talks have said the chances of implementing the proposal are not high, primarily due to Syrian opposition.

A senior Israeli security official told Haaretz yesterday that the lack of enforcement of the arms embargo is one of the most problematic issues that have surfaced since the war ended.

The official said Syria, Iran and Hezbollah were making a great effort to expedite weapons smuggling in an effort to restore Hezbollah’s arsenal to its pre-war levels.

Some 8,000 Lebanese soldiers are currently deployed on the border with Syria, but their presence appears to have little effect on halting the smuggling. There are many dirt paths along the border that make it relatively easy to smuggle weapons from Syria into Lebanon.
