Understanding the Muslim World by the Way its Factions view Jihad!

One has but to select a book describing the countless denominations classified by most as “Christians,” to quickly understand there are many different factions and variations of belief within its ranks. The same principle is true within the name “Muslim.” Before I began my contacts with Muslims in the AWS and NSA, my understanding of the variations within the practice of Islam was extremely limited. I taught, went to school with, worked with, and associated socially with Muslims from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. I found a recent article by Barry Rubin, in the Jerusalem Post, which beings out some of the different ideologies among the Muslim factions. He is a well known writer and director of Global Research in International Affairs Center.

I did find a common thread among all the many Muslims my path has crossed – a vivid hatred for Israel.

I found much distrust among them for each others belief and nationality, but nothing to compare with their common desire to eliminate Israel as a nation.

This is the obsession we see spiritually drawing them together for a great Jihad.

The latest United Nations resolution condemning Israel, which passed the General Assembly by a vote of 156 to seven, without any remarks condemning the Palestinian rockets that caused the IDF military action at Beit Hanoun, is a vivid example of the growing number of nations turning against Israel without reasonable justification. It is significant that all the European nations, including Britain, voted to support the resolution. It is just another sign that the time of Jacob’s tribulation trouble is at their doors. The spirit of antichrist has been in the world for a long time, but the last 10 years has seen it accelerate in strength and purpose among the fanatical Islamic clerics, and it will soon spread through all the tenants of Islam.

The Region: Meet ‘National Islamism’

In July 2006, Muhammad Abd al-Sattar, a deputy minister in Syria’s government, made a very strange statement on that country’s state-controlled television. Jihad, he said, is the duty of every Muslim, Arab and Christian in order to kill the Jews.

But wait a minute.

Why did Sattar say Muslim, Arab and Christian? After all, jihad is an Islamic religious notion. Why should Christians wage Jihad? And the word Arab here means the non-Muslim, non-Christian Alawites who rule Syria and pretend to be Muslims.

What’s happening here is a new ideology, the doctrine of Hamas, Hizbullah, Syria; and the Iraqi insurgents, behind what Syrian President Bashar Assad calls the “resistance” philosophy.

It is the blend of two radical world views: Islamism and Arab nationalism.

Call it National Islamism. The last time there was such a synthesis it brought together right-wing nationalism and left-wing populist socialism.

The doctrine called itself, appropriately enough, National Socialism. It is best known by the German version of those two words, Nazism for short.

I’m not making this comparison for shock value. It’s a perfect parallel. National Islamism fits the interests of many key political groups in the Middle East. For Iran, it constitutes a bridge into the Arab world, overcoming a big problem. They are Persians, not Arabs, and Shi’ite, not Sunni Muslims.

As long as Arab nationalism rules, they are outsiders. But even with pure Islamism, the Shi’ite-Sunni gap still limits their influence.

With National Islamism, though, the problem disappears. Iran can claim to lead the Arab-Islamic people – a designation filling all those gaps – against the evil Western-Crusader-American-Jewish-Zionist-imperialistic-satanic conspiracy.

Then there is Syria, the world’s first National Islamist state. While the Western media is still full of talk about Syria as a “secular” regime fighting Islamists, that is quite obsolete thinking.

Bashar has been running an Islamization campaign since he took power six years ago. Of course this does not mean Syrian society is going to be transformed into rigid piety. But it does mean the non-Muslim Alawite rulers can play at being good Muslims, keep their Sunni Muslim majority happy, and extend their influence as the great patron of Islamist revolution in the Arab world.

HERE’S ONE small example of the benefits. In 1998, the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood which hates the regime and wants to overthrow it, held a meeting in Jordan to mobilize support from other Islamist groups. One Jordanian Islamist told them off. Syria was the only Arab state fighting their enemies, he said. “Therefore, it is impossible for an Arab or a Muslim to attack it and try to harm it and its leadership.”

For other Arab states, even relatively moderate ones, National Islamism is great if they can manipulate it to their own benefit. They need a mechanism to defuse their own Islamist oppositions. By playing up their piety and using Islamist slogans to justify their policies, they can cut the ground from under their enemies at home.

With Hizbullah and Hamas the story is a truly remarkable one. Hizbullah was established in Lebanon in the 1980s to bring about an Iranian-style Islamist revolution in that country. To this day, though it is often forgotten, Hizbullah leader Hasan Nasrallah is the official representative of Iran’s chief cleric in Lebanon.

But then in the 1990s, partly due to Syrian tutelage, came a big change. Hizbullah reinvented itself as the leader of the Lebanese national resistance, a great patriotic organization.

Being patriotic while representing the interests of Teheran and Damascus was not an easy trick, but Hizbullah pulled it off.

Today it is seeking to take over the Lebanese government with its local Syrian-backed ally. In fact, Hizbullah is now preparing to launch its own Chr

istian candidate, Michel Aoun, to be president of Lebanon.

Hamas is in a roughly parallel situation. It has successfully outbid its nationalist rival Fatah as the best exemplar of Palestinian patriotism.

Most of those who voted Hamas into office in January 2006 were not Islamists, but they did like the Hamas program of terrorist violence and absolute refusal ever to make peace with Israel.

FOR THE WEST, the onset of National Islamism is bad news.

The radicals, whose whole appeal is based on their militancy, are not about to settle the Arab-Israeli, Lebanese or Iraqi conflict peacefully. And if Iran gets nuclear weapons, thousands of Arabs will jump on the National Islamism bandwagon.

True, “resistance” is a purely negative slogan. But if enough hysteria is built up, pure demagoguery will close people’s ears to the real issues. What kind of society would this build? Who knows? Doesn’t this make peace, democracy and economic progress impossible? Who cares?

With its visionary utopian plans for the future and glorification of violence, this is not a movement that’s going to be characterized by moderation or pragmatism. Appeasement will be no more successful than it was with its European predecessor.

It will be defeated in the end – but for now, the believers in National Islamism are singing “The future belongs to me.”

I could not agree more that this Islamic obsession “will be defeated in the end,” and Israel will be delivered by her God after a time of great tribulation, to which the following Old Testament Scriptures attest.

Jeremiah 30:7 – Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

Zechariah 13:9 – And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.

The Dead Sea becomes a Fresh Water Lake by God’s Hand!

Please take a look at Archive Prophecy Update Number 188B, which follows the Haaretz Article by Aluf Benn. The Peres Plan for the Dead Sea will never be completed by man.

It will, however, be initiated and completed by the God of Israel during “The Time of Jacob’s Trouble.” The work of God’s hand in the many miraculous topographical changes he will produce, by tectonic chaos in the environs of Israel, will be fully manifested to mankind during the reign of their returned Messiah.

Isaiah 41:18-20 – I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. [19] I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert

Gov’t expected to okay Peres plan for Eilat-Dead Sea Canal

Vice Premier Shimon Peres will in two weeks present his proposals to the cabinet for the “Peace Valley” program for development of the border region between Israel, Jordan, and Palestinian Authority controlled areas.

At the center of Peres’s “Peace Valley” plan is the building of the “Red-Dead” canal to run from the Israeli port city of Eilat on the Red Sea, 200 km to the Dead Sea.

The canal will drain 650 million cubic meters of water annually, and will serve to replenish the Dead Sea, which has been evaporating rapidly in recent years.

The canal will also lead to the construction of two artificial lakes in the Arava desert. Peres’s plan calls for several hotels and holiday villages to be built along the banks of the lakes.

Peres’s “Peace Valley” will require private funding and investors will receive allocations of land from Israel and Jordan.

Peres has recruited Israeli businessman Yitzhak Tshuva for the plan, and secured the support of King Abdullah of Jordan and Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas. Peres is also looking to recruit international investors for the plan.

Peres also recommended a shared airport be built for Eilat and Aqaba, 3 km from Eilat on the Red Sea in Jordan.

Under the Peres plan, there would be greater cooperation between Israel and Jordan on the mining of copper in the Arava desert, expanded “pre-seasonal” desert agriculture programs, and greater development of the tourism industry in the area.

In addition, the plan includes a railroad line to run from Arabid in Jordan to Haifa in Israel, the construction of schools and shared research facilities in the Jordan Valley and the Yarmuch Valley in Jordan, and the building of an industrial area next to Jenin in the West Bank.

King Abdullah has called for the construction of an airport at the Dead Sea, to serve the export of agriculture from the area. Abdullah also stated his desire to see the Jordan Valley used as an agricultural trading market for the Arab world.

Tectonic Chaos – Chapter 11 – Salty Sea to a Fresh Water Lake!

Figure 47 is a general summarization in a pictorial format of what has been presented thus far by a narrative discourse. It shows the area as I believe it will appear during the Millennium. Please note that the Dead Sea is forecast to become a living sea. At the present time, the Dead Sea is so saturated with salt and other solids that aquatic life forms cannot be supported. Fish that enter the Dead Sea from its tributaries perish shortly after their entrance. For centuries the elevated Arabah Fault to the south

of the Dead Sea has prevented the waters of the Jordan River from reaching the Gulf of Aqaba (Eilat). Consequently, by a process of evaporation, more and more salt has been continuously added to the land-locked body of water Zechariah identifies as the former (eastern) Sea (See Archive Birth Pang Figure 47).

Zechariah 14:8 – And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.

When God splits the Arabah Fault, during the tribulation period, a natural graben river valley will be formed between the blocking section of the fault structure, and the Jordan’s waters will finally be able to flow from the Dead Sea into the Red Sea by way of the Gulf of Aqaba. This will eventually clean most of the salt out of the Dead Sea, but the shallow northeastern sections will continue to have salt in coastline marsh areas.

Ezekiel 47:6-12 – And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the brink of the river. [7] Now when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other. [8] Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed. [9] And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every

thing shall live whither the river cometh.

[10] And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from En-gedi even unto En-eglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many. [11] But the miry places thereof and the marishes thereof shall not be healed; they shall be given to salt. [12] And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.

As we begin with verse six, we have just walked eastward a little over a mile (4,000 cubits) from the utter gate of the Jerusalem Millennial Temple, and have arrived at the brink of the diverted Jordan River. During our walk, we passed directly through the graben valley created during the tribulation period when the Mount of Olives divided into two sections, one moving to the north, and one moving to the south. The stream along which we walked developed after the Israelites fled to the Negev by way of the valley of the mountains. The area, through which the entire stream and Jordan River Complex is prophesied to flow, is one of

the most fertile soul profiles in Israel. But no matter how fertile and perfectly zoned a soil profile is, unless there is water, no vegetation will spring up. This has been the problem in this dry, arid region for centuries, but God is going to change all that.

Trees, and all types of vegetation, will flourish along the length of these two living water rivers as they flow toward the Mediterranean and Dead Seas, and the remnant of Israel will use this new source of water to irrigate the desert lands of Judah and most of southern Israel. I am convinced Israel will become the breadbasket of the Middle East. When Judah’s water shed, to the west of the line from Geba to Rimmon, lifts up as a fault block ridge, it will increase subterranean water flow into the spring that still flows under Jerusalem. The lifting along the Tyropoean Valley fault, just behind the Temple Mount Complex, will cause the spring to surface on the Temple platform just north of the Dome of the Rock, and it will flow eastward as a stream for a thousand years. As westerly winds being the moist Mediterranean air up the gentle slope of the uplifted western Judean watershed block complex, adiabatic cooling of the moist sea air, coupled with convective heating of the plain, will produce frequent periods of orographic and convective precipitation. Some of this rain will drift off the higher central watershed and fall on what are now arid sections of eastern and southern Judea. I also believe that more frontal activity will affect all Israel by increasing precipitation totals. Increased precipitation will not only water the soil profile directly, but increased occurrence to the west of Jerusalem will keep the water table supplied with ample water to feed Ezekiel’s temple spring continuously through the entire 1000 year reign of Christ. God will so structure the land and the climate that lack of water will no longer be a problem to the east of the line from Geba to Rimmon.

As verse 8 indicates, a part of this fresh water flows into “the east country” (east of the Mount of Olives), then “down (southward) into the desert” (desert of Judah and Arabah), then finally “into the sea” (Dead Sea). Once they are brought forth into the Dead Sea they cause water now there “to be healed” (the salt content is reduced sufficiently to start supporting aquatic life). This is all made possible by the opening of the Arabah Fault into a channel that will allow the Dead Sea to drain most of its salt content into the Red Sea via the Gulf of Aqaba.

Verse 9 gives a clear prophecy that the Jordan River system, from its northern tip to its entry into the Gulf of Aqaba, will be filled with all sorts of aquatic life, this being made possible because the Dead Sea has been healed from its extremely high, life taking, salt content.

Verse 10 reveals that fishermen will fish for a great, exceeding variety of fish along the Dead Sea western shoreline from Engedi to Eneglaim (See Archive Birth Pang Figure 48). This entire shoreline is now barren of all aquatic life forms.

Verse 11 tells us that the northeastern zone of the Dead Sea will exist as a salt marsh because it will be out of the direct fresh water trajectory flowing into the western shoreline (See Archive Birth Pang Figure 48).

Verse 12 is a picture of a vast aggregate of all types of fruit producing trees.

The fruit of the trees will be a part of the “meat” supply of the nation of Israel, and various extracts from the trees will be used for medicinal purposes. Ezekiel’s vision of great fertility in the wilderness of Judea is echoed by many of the prophets,

in terms similar to those put forward by Isaiah, as he describes the effects the new hydrological changes will produce in the desolate zones of Israel.

Isaiah 35:1,2,6,7 –The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. [2] It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency

of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God. [6] Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. [7] And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons (jackals), where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.

The day is soon coming when God will so geologically reconstruct the topography of his Holy Land by a massive shifting of his tectonic plates, that the deserts and wildernesses of Judah shall be thoroughly irrigated with waters from a reorganized Jordan River tributary system. Where only jackals (dragons) now dwell, men and women will leap for joy like a hart, and Jewish tongues will sing praise to God for his great blessings of fertility. A vast green paradise will exist where only arid wasteland once appeared. One of these changes involved in the many that will be wrought by God, is the opening of a valley in the Arabah Fault block, which will allow the contents of the present Dead Sea to flush through it on the way to the Red Sea’s Gulf of Aqaba. At the present time there are convective currents of magma that flow upward into the lower sections on both sides of the Red Sea, which is causing the sea floor to spread apart at the rate of several centimeters per year. This same lake of magma underlies the entire length of the Jordan Valley, but, at the present time, the faults on both sides of it are locked, or “frozen” in place above the magma, and its upward convective currents are much more passive here than under the Red Sea (See Archive Birth Pang Figures, 23, 24, 25, 27, and 38). However, when the present Red Sea floor spreading of the fault finally reaches its critical limits, at that time the northern, or “locked” portion, of the fault will suddenly burst open on both sides for a distance of about 185 miles from the Port of Aqaba (Eilat) northward, to become a raging inferno of volcanic smoke, pitch, and brimstone. The greatest restructuring will occur in that section or the fault block between the southern tip of the Dead Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba. That section was known as Edom or Idumea during the time of most of the prophets (See Archive Birth Pang Figure 23). Isaiah writes of this catastrophic tribulation period ripping transformation of that land, which will form a new river channel to drain the Dead Sea.

Isaiah 34:4-10 – And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree. [5] For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment. [6] The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the Lord hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea. [7] And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness. [8] For it is the day of the Lord’s vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion. [9] And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof

into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch. [10] It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.

This is a classic description of what geologists label as a “flood basalt plain,” and verse 10 indicates that some degree of volcanic activity will occur there off and on throughout the Millennium. The activity would appear to be such that only wild animals would live there during that period.

Rerun of “You Hit Me First, You Big Bully!”

Some four and a half years ago, in Archive Prophecy Updates 74D and 79D, I predicted the strategy Hizballah would use to draw Israel across the northern border into a trap.

This will be the same technique they employ to draw them across when Israel is attacked by a conspiracy of 10 Arab nations, with my guesstimate for the time of the attack being at some point between 2008 and 2012.

The following articles by Chanasis Hambanis in the Boston Globe, Roee Nahmias in YNet News, and Amir Kulick in Strategic Assessment, do seem to bear out the pattern I predicted more than four years ago, and my guesstimate of some point in time between 2008 and 2012 for the next attack is not out of line with what they have written.

Hizballah Demands More Government Power in Lebanon

Emboldened by this summer’s war with Israel, the radical Islamist Hizballah has gone on the political offensive inside Lebanon, determined either to replace or to bring down the pro-American government. Hizballah and an allied Christian political party led by Gen. Michel Aoun are demanding a government reshuffle that would give them more positions – and would in effect give Hizballah veto power over any legislation. They have threatened to boycott the government or try to bring it down through strikes and street demonstrations if they don’t get more posts. U.S. officials say that by gaining veto power, Hizballah would paralyze the government, extend Syrian influence over Lebanon, and ruin Lebanon’s prospects to rebuild.

Hizballah’s Preparations for the Next Campaign

Hizballah’s expected preparations for the next round of fighting will be centered around rocket arrays aimed at Israel’s home front, at longer range and more intensively than before.

The IDF’s systematic elimination of mid-range rocket launchers south of the Litani River may push Hizballah to build a massive infrastructure north of the Litani, possibly even in the Beka’a Valley and north of Beirut. The objective will be to saturate the area with rockets in order to increase the array’s survivability.

The goal of Hizballah’s next campaign would be to launch intensive volleys towards Tel Aviv and its surroundings.

The massive bombardment of the Dahiya quarter of Beirut where, according to IDF reports, Hizballah command posts were centered, may prompt Hizballah to disperse its command posts across Beirut and outside.

The age of so-called civilized warfare really began in the era of the Napoleonic Wars of 1803 to 1815. And, with the passage of time, it has become increasingly important for the two countries involved in a conflict to convince the rest of the world the other is the culprit who started the conflict. Every time Hitler, in his early conquests, marched his troops into countries to take them over in bloodless battles, he always had an excuse to justify his attacks.

Finally, when he came to his planned conquest of the Poles, he could not really find what even remotely seemed like a justifiable reason.

So he manufactured one. He had his own SS troops dress up in Polish uniforms and attack a German border outpost. Then the SS put dead Polish bodies in the immediate vicinity of the outpost and had photographers and reporters in to verify their story. Using this farce as justification for his actions, he attacked Poland in September of 1939, and World War II began.

Some interesting developments, involving Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and the terrorist groups, particularly Hizbollah, have been occurring along the northern border of Israel with Lebanon. I do not believe what

I am now observing in that area will lead to an immediate war, but I suspect it may well do so in the not too distant future. And, if I am correct in my assumptions, it could give Syria justification for attacking Israel in the eyes of most of the international world.

President Bush has demanded that Syria cut it’s backing for the Hizbollah terrorists that operate along the southern border of Lebanon, and that it expel the other Palestinian terrorist groups it currently has operating out of Syria. Damascus now hosts 10 Palestinian terrorist groups, which include the extremist groups Hamas and the Islamic Jihad. In response to the demands of President Bush, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said: “Syria supports the Lebanese national resistance, including Hizbollah, in resisting Israeli occupation and liberating land.” Concerning the demand that the other terrorist groups in Syria be removed, he said: “Their work is limited to political and media activities, and their offices in Damascus provide political representation to the 400,000 Palestinians who look to attain their rights and return to their land.” Israel has repeatedly warned Syria that if Hizbollah continued its border attacks on Israeli civilians and troops on its northern border, they would start hitting targets in Syria in retaliation. Bashar has responded by saying that Syria would defend itself against any Israeli action.

He said: “If the Israeli government involves itself in waging aggression on the territory of Syria, then Syria will defend itself.”

So far Israel’s policy against recent Hizbollah attacks has shown remarkable restraint, probably because of not wanting to open a second front of conflict to the one they now have going in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Even though seven Israeli soldiers were killed by a Hizbollah terrorist team that penetrated the border fence, Israel has held back from violent retaliation. And now Bashar al-Assad has joined with Iran to provide heavier rockets for the Hizbollah arsenal of terror. Israeli officials have watched Hizbollah deploy thousands of new missiles and rockets that are aimed at Israeli civilian population centers.

Once Israel has completed its long buffer zone fence around the West Bank, and beefed up the one it already has around the Gaza Strip, it will become confident it has finally achieved the impossible, it will say it has “peace and safety.” And all the time that it was tied up internally in so doing, Syria, Iran, Iraq, and Lebanon will have been slowly slipping troops in position for a lightning Jihad from the north. Israel’s preoccupation with its internal safety is going to cause them to slack off in their gaze on what is going on externally.

During the time that Alexander’s great empire had been divided into four sections, the Syrian section (Seleucid) held Israel some of the time, and the Egyptian section (Ptolemy) held it when they took it from the Syrians.

Israel was at times a part of the Egyptian section, at times a part of the Syrian section, and, at times a part of both. Daniel lists a very long series of battles between the king of the north (Syria) and the king of the South (Egypt). Most of Daniel’s prophecies about these two kingdoms were fulfilled by their many kings from Daniel 11:4 through 35, but there remains one war yet to be fulfilled, and I believe it is the aforementioned Jihad that begins in Daniel 11:40. Since Israel was once part of the section occupied by Ptolemy, I am persuaded that Israel is the king of the south and Syria is the king of the north in Daniel 11:40-45.

I suspect that after Israel has lulled itself into a false sense of peace and safety by its military might, it will have gained even more confidence in its great ability to take care of any Islamic intrusion. It may well be that Syria will get Hizbollah to kick up a storm of activity along the northern border by launching a massive missile and rocket attack across the border into the populations of northern Israel.

Syria will do this knowing that Israel will cross the border into Lebanon and hit Syrian targets from the air.

But this time Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Iran will be waiting for it, and six other Islamic nations will be poised to supply logistical support. The Islamic nations can cry out while they head south: “We were attacked first, so are justified in this response to the Israeli invasion of our sovereign territory.” This will cause a hesitation by the western world at first and, by the time it wakes up, Jerusalem will have fallen, and Israel will be fleeing into the Negev.

I Thessalonians 5:3,4 – For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. [4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

Daniel 11:40 – And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

Zechariah 13:8 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.

Revelation 12:6 – And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

First comes a time when Israel actually believes it can maintain “peace and safety.” Then a time of false “peace and safety” sets in for a brief period. Then a border incident! Then a response! Then a Jihad, and the last 1260 days of the tribulation period are under way.

PREPARING FOR THE JUSTIFICATION BLAME GAME!

In Prophecy Update Number 74D we covered what the title of 79D means when applied to

the situation along the border zone of northern Israel with Syria and Lebanon. Events of the last two weeks indicate that Syria may be making long range plans for what I indicated would eventually precede a 10 nation push into Israel from the north. Such a push is not in the immediate future, but this week seems to be setting the groundwork for its eventual occurrence.

At the start of this month, while marking Syrian Army Day, President Bashar Assad said Israel alone was responsible for the stalemate in the Middle East peace process, and his top general announced the country was strengthening its military to defend against Israel. In a statement released last week in three top military publications Assad said: “The Israeli governments, especially the current one, through their active eagerness for bloodshed and their desire to swallow Arab lands and expand, are solely responsible for foiling all efforts that aim at achieving peace and stability in the region.”

Assad, who took office in July 2000 after the death of his father, outlined the basis of a just, comprehensive peace as being the complete withdrawal of Israel from the Golan Heights strategic plateau, plus the creation of an independent Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital. But, in view of the current Israeli policies, Assad said Syria had decided to remain in the state of “full alertness and preparedness.”

Syrian Armed Forces Chief-of-Staff General Hassan Turkmany wrote in a Syrian daily last week that he intended to continue to bolster Syria’s defenses. He said Syrian forces were powerful enough to face challenges, and in decidedly a reference to Israel, said would “inflict a bitter defeat on any aggressor and foil his expansionist plans.”

Meanwhile, last week in Lebanon, which also celebrated Army Day, and where Syria has some 35,000 troops stationed, plus a Hizbullah army of terrorists stationed in its southern quarter, President Emile Lahoud said Israel’s “terrorist” policy is to blame for instability in the Middle East.

War Guesstimate at Some Point in Time 2008 to 2012 Looks Good!

I have never been concerned about an end time nuclear war closing out the “Times of the Gentiles” in which we now live.

I do not believe nuclear bombs will be launched against us, nor do I believe they will be dropped on us.

I have repeatedly given my reasons for this in many Archive Prophecy Updates and

Archive BLOGS.

However, I have been extremely concerned about the huge variety and sophistication of

the large number of high tech conventional weapons that have been developed by Russia and China. And my major concern has been their complete willingness to sell them for the oil prophets Iran has raked in.

Not only have China and Russia reaped a great windfall to build up their economies by wholesale high tech weaponry sales, they have also derived great profit from the work of their technicians sent to Lebanon, Syria, and Iran.

The Arab and Persians main strength in the Middle East has always been the vast number of troops they can raise up, but for the first time they have high tech weapons almost as good as those possessed by the Israelis.

When we first began this Web Site in 2000, I began to watch these sales develop, asking myself, what is the earliest year the attainment of high tech weapons in massive quantities, by the 10 toes of the great statute in Daniel 2, can reach a sufficient stockpile that they would dare to launch a united, high tech, conventional, Jihad against Israel? I confess there were so many factors to consider that it was a subjective estimate on my part.

I believed it could occur as early as 2004 and as late as 2012 (See Archive Prophecy Update Number 7). The Hizballah did get enough weapons together to launch the recent rocket attack on Israel in 2005, and they did draw Israel into Lebanon. It will now take time for them to completely restock and refortify, so my guesstimate is now at some point in time between 2008 and 2012 they will initiate the attack of Zechariah 13:8 to 14:2.

‘Israel Must prepare for Full-Scale War’

Israel has to prepare for a full-scale war, in which Syria will be an important player, an Israeli military official told the British Sunday Times. “The challenge from Iran and Syria is now top of the Israeli defense agenda, higher than the Palestinian one,” another official said.

The recent war with Hizbullah and the threat that Iran could achieve nuclear weapons capability have led Israel to reexamine its defense strategies, and focus on the region’s two major supporters of terrorism, IDF sources have said recently. One conclusion is that Israel has allocated too much time and energy to addressing the terror threat posed by Palestinian groups in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

According to London’s International Institute for Strategic Studies, both Iran and Syria have ballistic missiles whose range extends over most of Israel, including Tel Aviv. Funds have reportedly been approved for the construction of appropriately equipped shelters.

Eyeing Syria, the IDF has formed a new infantry brigade, known as Kfir (young lion), as a countermeasure against Syria’s commando forces, which are considered “better” than Hizbullah guerrillas, a military source informed the Times.

The IDF is also reportedly integrating three elite brigades in preparation for them cooperating on deep cross-border operations into Syria and Iran.

Also, shortly before the Lebanon war, Maj.-Gen. Eliezer Shkedy was appointed head of the IDF’s Iranian Front – and as such will command any future strikes against Syria or Iran.

Some analysts say that it would have been better for Israel to attack Syria during the recent war with Hizbullah. Syria has consistently supplied Hizbullah with weapons, and according to recent UN reports, has continued to smuggle arms to the organization despite an international embargo.

At Last – A Larry, Curley, and Moe Middle East Peace Plan!

What wonderful news for the P alestini

ans and their many terrorist friends – Spain, Italy, and France are going to promote a new peace plan to replace the road map. Spain’s Prime Minister Jose Zapatero said, “We cannot remain impassive in the face of the horror that continues to unfold before our eyes.” He was referring to the struggle that has gone on between Israel and the Palestinians since Israel became a nation, but the real reason these three countries have come up with the plan is that they are being eaten alive by Islamic terrorists in their own countries, and are always seeking a way to placate terrorism by compromise, rather than confrontation, which they think will at least give them temporary relief from the criticism of their own electorate.

The Palestinians should love this new plan, and ought to jump on it like a duck

on a bug.

It will be a formula for the destruction of Israel, and many liberal congressmen are likely to get on board, not necessarily in rhetoric, but in deed. If Senator Hillary Clinton should win the 2008 Presidential race, rest assured that the huge Jewish constituency in New York State, which she has cleverly placated to get and keep her office, will suddenly find itself and Israel abandoned.

Spain, France and Italy promote new Peace Initiative

Spain will sponsor a new Middle East peace initiative along with France and Italy, the prime minister said Thursday, stressing that the international community cannot remain idle as violence rages between Israel and the Palestinians.

Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero announced the initiative at a summit with President Jacques Chirac of France. “Peace between Israel and the Palestinians means to a large extent peace on the international scene,” Zapatero told a news conference.

“We cannot remain impassive in the face of the horror that continues to unfold before our eyes,” Zapatero said.

There are hopes in Europe for a greater voice in world affairs, particularly after midterm US elections in which voters punished President George W.

Bush and gave control of Congress to the Democrats.

Many on this side of the Atlantic hope the results will usher in a more humble US foreign policy, in which Washington seeks the advice and input of its European allies, rather than dictating policy to them.

There was no immediate reaction from Israel, the Palestinians or Washington to Thursday’s announcement.

Zapatero cited the Israeli shell blast that killed 19 people last week in a Palestinian village and the death this week of an Israeli woman in a Palestinian rocket attack.

The violence, he said, “has reached a level of deterioration that requires determined, urgent action by the international community.”

The peace plan will be presented to an EU summit next month, Zapatero said, adding he hopes to win the backing of Britain and Germany as well.

He said it had five components: an immediate cease-fire, formation of a national unity government by the Palestinians that can gain international recognition, an exchange of prisoners – including the IDF soldiers whose kidnapping sparked the war in Lebanon and fighting in Gaza this summer – talks between Israel’s prime minister and the Palestinian Authority Chairman and an international mission in Gaza to monitor a cease-fire.

Eventually, a major international conference on Middle East peace should be held, he added, but did not specify if such a meeting should take place in Spain. Spain hosted a landmark peace conference in 1991 that laid the groundwork for

the Oslo accords, which in turn led to the creation of the Palestinian Authority.

Middle East peace, Zapatero said, “is one of the factors that can contribute most to cornering fanaticism and terrorism.”

Europe’s efforts to help broker a peace deal have hit some speed bumps recently, and the continent could face problems this time as well.

Many in Israel view European leaders as pro-Palestinian and are wary of their motives.

Last month, Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos, a leading European voice on the Middle East, said that the “road map” plan for peace between Israel and the Palestinians was fatally stalled and that Europe should take the initiative to come up with a new plan.

Israeli and Palestinian officials were quick to reject his comments as overly pessimistic.

Both sides insisted that the road map was not dead, just in serious need of a mechanism for implementation.

The US-backed road map, devised in 2003, called for the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state alongside Israel, but it never got off the ground because neither side lived up to even their initial commitments under the blueprint.
