Islamic Radical Ahmadinejad is “On the Road Again,” visiting those countries he will need in his corner in the future when a Jihad attack is launched against Israel.

Over the last four weeks he visited Southeast Asia, China, Russia, and now is now planning a future visit to Iraq.

I have believed for 32 years that Iraq would be one of the 10 toes of the great statue in Daniel 2, and am convinced that a government favorable to us cannot be maintained after we pull out, as I indicated on our Blog Supplement which follows:

Iran sent its foreign minister, Kamal Kharrazi, to Baghdad on Tuesday.

Almost 25 years after Iraq and Iran started an eight-year war that left a million people dead, the government in Baghdad is now led by officials with close personal, religious, and political ties to Iran’s ruling Shiite ayatollahs. Kharrazi appeared eager to put the U.S. on notice that Iran expects to wield influence in Iraq, especially in the long term: “The party that will leave Iraq is the United States, because it will eventually withdraw, but the party that will live with the Iraqis is Iran, because it is a neighbor to Iraq.”

Tehran – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is planning to visit neighbouring Iraq “soon”, the semi-official Fars news agency reported Monday.

Quoting an informed source, the report said Ahmadinejad was hoping to meet with “high-ranking officials and visit religious sites” — a reference to Shiite Muslim sites spread across the violence-wracked country.

Ahmadinejad’s office could not be reached for comment.

The visit would be the first by an Iranian president since the 1979 Islamic revolution.

Iran and Iraq were at war from 1980 to 1988, but the US-led ouster of Saddam Hussein in 2003 has seen a cautious improvement in ties, despite some Iraqi officials accusing Tehran of meddling.

Baghdad’s new government is dominated by Kurdish figures like President Jalal Talabani as well as Shiites who were also backed by Tehran during Saddam’s rule.

Former foreign minister Kamal Kharazi visited Iraq in May 2005, and his successor Manouchehr Mottaki visited Iraq last month.

Talabani has also visited Iran several times since Saddam’s ouster, and was last in Tehran in November.

Tehran, June 24 (KUNA) — Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called on Saturday for the strengthening of Iranian-Turkish relations in all fields.

The presidential office said in a statement that Ahmadinejad described in a telephone call to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan that the two countries were tied through culture, history and religion.

Furthermore, he said that two countries played an important role on the regional and international levels, and stressed that they had to

increase deliberations in order to consolidate international peace and security.

For his part, Erdogan expressed content with developments on the Iranian nuclear issue, noting that relations between the two countries would be further strengthened in the upcoming visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul to Tehran.

The Turkish Foreign Minister is expected to arrive in Tehran later tonight and is to hold talks with Iranian officials on issues of mutual concern.

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak offered the Palestinians the Sun, Moon, and Stars for peace between them in 1999-2000, and Yassar Arafat turned Israel down, because he knew he could not control the many splinter and independent terror groups for more than a few days, until they deliberately broke the agreement after it was signed.

Even since Yassar Arafat turned down the best terms the Palestinians could ever after received from Israel, much to the amazement of Bill Clinton and most of the free world, I have repeatedly stated that no one would ever be able to control all the terrorist groups in Israel for a long enough period of time for anything other than a false peace to come in. The only personage who will ever be able to bring these wild asses into a unified stance will be the antichrist, and then only by the will of God.

If the leaders of the f action

of the Hamas rulers setting in Damascus do not “blink,” in fear of the Gaza Strip invasion threat by Israel, by the return of the soldier wounded and kidnapped on Sunday, then Israel will invade the Gaza Strip. It will be interesting to see if Hamas does “blink” and return him, bec

ause it would be a definite sign of weakness on their part. Israel has given them until Wednesday to return him.

His kidnapping has stirred up a lot of political intrigue in Europe and the Middle East. Since the kidnapped soldier holds French citizenship, the French government is making diplomatic appeals to Arab countries to obtain his release. And the United States is also putting pressure on Syria to put pressure on Hamas headquarters in Damascus to secure the young man’s relaease.

Regardless of the outcome of this test of wills scenario, if it has not been apparent before, it should now be crystal clear that the only way to deal with Palestinians, and their many affiliated terrorist groups of thugs, is to fence them in behind a security barrier, whether they like it or not. And, having done so, every time a rocket comes over the wall on Israel’s side of it, launch IAF air strikes at will against terrorist groups inside it, regardless of which group of thugs launched it. Eventually, it will cause the Palestinian population as a whole to police their own terrorists, and the rocket attacks

will cease.

This is no time for bleeding hearts in Israel. If, by some chance, Israel is the party that “blinks,” and does not invade the Gaza Strip, should the Palestinians fail to return the wounded soldier, then it will be a sad day for Israel, and will give great encouragement to the rising spirit of Jihad sweeping through the worldwide Muslim community.

Israel masses armored strength on its Gaza border Monday as Egypt seeks to broker recovery of Israeli soldier kidnapped by Hamas

Sunday night, Israel decided to hold off immediate military action in Gaza for fear of harm to kidnapped Israeli soldier since promoted to Sgt.

Gideon Shalit, 19, from Mitzpe Hilo, is safe. The decision was reached at a special security cabinet consultation called by prime minister Ehud Olmert to deal with the IDF response to the Hamas-led pre-dawn raid from Gaza inside Israel, in which two Israeli soldiers were killed, a third was kidnapped and 6 were injured.

DEBKAfile’s military sources say the cabinet’s options were narrowed by the slow reactions of the generals on the spot – Maj.-Gen Yoav Galant (Ariel Sharon’s former military secretary) and Brig. Aviv Cochavi – plus the chief of staff’s reluctance to act independently without deferring to his political masters. Had the IDF gone roaring after the terrorists and kidnappers – or even launched a blind pursuit without waiting for a decision from the policy-makers – Israel might have gained the initiative and been in a position to force the kidnapped soldier’s release by pinning the Palestinian terrorists to the wall.

Instead, an Israeli helicopter was lofted to shoot at empty ground and the defense minister Amir Peretz, upon learning that an Israeli naval Dabur missile-ship had opened fire, ordered the vessel to stand down in case of repercussions to the abducted soldier.

These responses were seen by the Palestinian terrorist groups which carried out the concerted attack early Sunday as a sign of weakness and lack of resolve. Israel has left itself with two chancy options – an unpredictable bargaining process and hope that the missing soldier can be first located through its intelligence and electronic surveillance branches.

Israel’s military tardiness reduced the deterrent effect of the threat defense minister Amir Peretz issued earlier to Palestinian terrorists that they and their leaders would pay a painful price if harm came to Corp. Shalit. This affair recalls the October 2000 kidnap by Hizballah of three Israeli soldiers, Adi Avitan, Benny Avraham and Omar Sawad, on Israel’s northern border. Then, too, prime minister Ehud Barak held back from expeditious action.

Four years later, in the absence of any sign

of life from the captured men, Israel was forced to pay dearly for their remains.

Both Israeli premiers were loath to send troops back into evacuated territory – South Lebanon then, the Gaza Strip now.

The following Excerpts from Three Rapid Fire Articles in the Jerusalem Post, which will follow, give several reasons why the IDF is about to lower the hammer on the Gaza Strip this week. Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades, Islamic Jihad, and Damascus Hamas do not want a Jewish state in the Middle East, and are determined to undermine any effort by Fatah or the Israel based Hamas leaders that might recognize Israel as a nation. They oppose the so-called Palestinian Prisoner’s Peace Plan in virtually very area.

As far as I am concerned, the only thing that might stop Israel from going back into the Gaza Strip in a major incursion would be a prompt return of the Israeli soldier alive to the Israeli authorities. If this is not done promptly, then a major Israeli Operation is almost certain to push into the Gaza Strip this week.

Al-Aksa claims Biological, Chemical Capabilities

The Aksa Martyrs Brigades announced on Sunday that its members have succeeded in manufacturing chemical and biological weapons.

In a leaflet distributed in the Gaza Strip, the group, which belongs to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah Party, said

the weapons were

the result of a three-year effort.

According to the statement, the first of its kind, the group has managed to manufacture and develop at least 20 different types of biological and chemical weapons.

The group said its members would not hesitate to add the new weapons to Kassam rockets that are being fired at Israeli communities almost every day.

It also threatened to use the weapons against IDF soldiers if Israel carried out its threats to invade the Gaza Strip.

“We want to tell [Prime Minister Ehud] Olmert and [Defense Minister Amir] Peretz that your threats don’t frighten us,” the leaflet said.

“We will surprise you with our new weapons the moment the first soldier sets foot in the Gaza Strip.”

Fatah blames Hamas in Syria for Attack

The attack on the IDF post near the Gaza Strip border was carried out on instructions from the Hamas leadership in Syria, Fatah officials claimed on Sunday.

They said the attack, in which two IDF soldiers were killed and one captured and brought into the Gaza Strip, was designed to torpedo any agreement between Fatah and Hamas on a controversial document drafted by some Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.

As news of the capture spread in

the early hours of the morning, many residents of the Strip took to the streets to express their joy. Drivers honked their horns and some merchants and gunmen distributed sweets.

Many expressed hope that the abduction would lead to a prisoner swap with Israel.

The attack came only hours after sources in Gaza City reported that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh were close to reaching an agreement on the document, which had been dismissed by Hamas because it calls for the establishment of a Palestinian state only in the territories captured by Israel in 1967.

The two sides were also close to striking a deal on the formation of a new government that would be dominated by independent figures and technocrats, the sources said.

The Fatah officials accused Damscus-based Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal of seeking to sabotage any agreement between Fatah and Hamas.

“It’s obvious that those behind the attack wanted to destroy any chance of reaching an agreement between Fatah and Hamas,” said a senior Fatah official. “We are convinced that the Hamas leadership in Syria and Lebanon was behind it. They want to prevent any agreement.”

Another Fatah official and close aide to Abbas told The Jerusalem Post that the attack was aimed at embarrassing both Abbas and Haniyeh.

“We have been holding talks in a positive atmosphere to agree on the continuation of the truce and halting all military attacks on Israel because we didn’t want to give Israel an excuse to launch a massive military operation into the Gaza Strip,” it said.

Abbas decided to form a commission of inquiry to determine the identity of the party responsible for the attack and phoned a number of Arab leaders to urge them to intervene to prevent Israel from invading the Gaza Strip.

Abbas’s spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudaineh, said the attack “brings the Palestinians back to square one.” He too expressed fear that Israel would exploit the attack to step up its military operations.

IDF preparing Gaza Ground Attack

Despite an intelligence warning of an imminent attack in the area, the IDF was caught off guard early Sunday morning when Palestinian gunmen, among them Hamas operatives, tunneled across the border from the southern Gaza Strip and assaulted a military post near the Kerem Shalom crossing. Two soldiers were killed and a third was captured in the attack.

“We intend to respond to this morning’s incident in a way in which all involved… understand that the price will be painful,” Defense Minister Amir Peretz announced at a news conference in Tel Aviv.

At press time, the Security Cabinet unanimously green-lighted a major ground incursion into Gaza, to be launched at the discretion of the prime minister and defense minister, and soldiers from the Golani and Givati infantry brigades were massing around the Gaza Strip.

Lt. Hanan Barak, 20, and St.-Sgt. Pavel Slutsker, 20, were killed when the gunmen attacked their tank with a rocket and bombs, OC Gaza Big.-Gen. Aviv Kochavi told reporters at a briefing in nearby Kibbutz Kerem Shalom. The tank driver was seriously wounded and Cpl.

Gilad Shalit, 19, was captured by the attackers. Other gunmen also attacked a tower and an unmanned armored personnel carrier.

Three other soldiers, responding to the initial attacks, were lightly wounded when a bomb left behind by the terrorists exploded. Helicopter crews evacuated the wounded to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba.

Three gunmen were killed in the ensuing battle, Palestinian sources said.

OC Manpower Maj.-Gen. Elazar Stern said Shalit walked from the tank under his own power, and was forced across the fence into Gaza by the Palestinian gunmen, who blew a hole in the barrier.

“I told the family that we know Gilad was forced to walk against his will during the incident. We believe he is alive and being held captive,” Stern said after visiting Shalit’s family in his hometown of Mitzpe Hila, near Karmiel in the western Galilee.

Peretz telephoned the Shalit family on Sunday evening, and assured the father that Shalit’s safe return was the IDF’ s highe

st priority.

Palestinian media said Shalit was wounded in the abdomen and neck and was in serious condition.

Reports said his abductors were providing him with medical treatment and intended to use him as a bargaining chip in negotiations for a prisoner release. Terror groups have historically used abducted soldiers and the remains of dead soldiers as bargaining chips.

Ground troops, backed by tanks and Apache helicopters, moved nearly a kilometer into Gaza when it became apparent that Shalit was missing, IDF officers said.

Soldiers uncovered the tunnel’s entrance, which was some 500 meters from the security fence. A senior Southern Command officer said this initial incursion was limited to a search of the area.

Halutz said Hamas was involved “from head to foot, literally” in the attack.

Peretz warned that “anyone who causes harm to the soldier should know that the soldier’s blood is on his head and on the head of his commanders.”

Is it Time for Operation Defensive Shield II

Hamas and Fatah have a few things they agree on, one of which is the propaganda they both loudly proclaimed when Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip.

The news spread across the Islamic world that Hamas Fatah, Islamic Jihad, and Al-Aksa Martyrs Brigades had crushed

the power of Israel and literally driven them out of Gaza by their military might. The announcement excited the Muslim world with a new flame of fire generated by the rising spirit of Jihad in the Islamic community of nations.

How appropriate it would be if Israel reentered the Gaza in a second Operation Defensive Shield and tore their backsides asunder.

It would discredit the Palestinian propaganda lie to

the uttermost, which is a thing the terror groups do not want to happen.

Israel is using the threat of launching a new assault into Gaza to influence them to stop the many Kassam launches against them. But suppose Israel did begin a second Operation Defensive Shield into the Gaza Strip. I assure you the second wave of propaganda spouted by the Palestinians would be one of: “See, the brutal occupational aggressors are killing our people and once again are stealing our land from us.”

The international community has long held the viewpoint that Israel should just ignore the launching of rockets into their territory and hop to it in signing a peace agreement with the thugs who are doing it. I wonder what England would do if the French daily launched rockets across the English channel over the White Cliffs of Dover? How does the song go…..: “tomorrow, you just wait and see!”

The Hamas incursion today into Israel proper by tunnel from the Gaza Strip, which produced an anti-tank launch against an Israeli tank, the death of two Israeli soldiers, and the kidnapping of one that was wounded, may well be considered serious enough for Israel to launch a second Operation Defensive Shield into the Gaza Strip. Israel has been pushed to the limit, and this week is likely to be

the week

the IDF is to be given the order to reenter the Gaza Strip.

Ex-defense panel chair urges IDF to launch ground assault on Gaza Strip

MK Yuval Steinitz (Likud), the former chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, called on the Israel Defense Forces on Friday to launch a ground attack on the Gaza Strip in an effort to halt the Qassam fire on southern Israel.

“I call on the Israeli government not to wait any longer and to begin a comprehensive ground operation in Gaza in order to fundamentally damage the terror infrastructure in a few weeks,” Steinitz said in an Israel Radio interview. “And after the infrastructure is seriously damaged, perhaps there will also be a greater will on the part of Abu Mazen [Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas] to take action against the weakened infrastructure.”

Steinitz compared the proposed attack to Operation Defensive Shield in

the West Bank, which the IDF launched following the Passover bombing of a Netanya hotel in 2002.

Earlier this week, Likud chairman and opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu said the IDF has the firepower to wipe out the Gaza Strip, but has chosen not to do so.

Palestinians fired three Qassam rockets at Sderot on Friday, causing no injuries. Residents of the Negev city of Sderot, which has been a regular target of the Qassam fire, are planning a protest march to Jerusalem on M

onday.

Israel has been responding to the Qassam fire by attacking rocket-launching cells. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Thursday that Israel would “continue to carry out targeted attacks against terrorists and those who try to harm Israeli citizens,” despite a growing number of civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip. Five Palestinian civilians were killed in Israeli air strikes on Gaza this week.

Justice Minister Haim Ramon echoed Olmert’s comments Friday, saying, “Whoever launches Qassams will ultimately be assassinated.”

However, Ramon dismissed Steinitz’s proposal that the IDF be sent back into Gaza.

“Those few weeks will continue for 40 years,” Ramon told Israel Radio. “After two months of being there, I promise you that they’ll say, ‘We have to rebuild Gush Katif.'”

Indeed, another Likud member, former defense minister Moshe Arens, suggested that Israel reoccupy part of Gaza.

“Israel leads in ballistic interception technology, but the trajectory of Qassams is just too short to make interception possible,” Arens wrote in an op-ed published in Haaretz this week. “The obvious move to cut down on this danger is for the IDF to reoccupy unilaterally some of the areas in the northern Gaza Strip that were so foolishly abandoned unilaterally last August.”

According to Fox News this morning, the plan of Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, has a target date of 18 months for his reunification

plan to be in effect.

If this is the case, it certainly blends well with what I gave as a guesstimate as the Jihad attack against Israel occurring at some point in time between 2008 and 2012.
