Opps! There Goes Another Rubber Tree Plant! (Or was it a Turkey?)

For many years I have claimed the most likely candidates to make up the ten toes and ten horns of Daniel 2 & 7, as well as Revelation 12:13 & 17, would end up being Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Lebanon, Sudan, Turkey, Iraq, Iran, and the Palestinian state with Israel. The Antichrist, in my opinion, was to arise out of the eleventh horn, which I believe will be Syria.

I did not include Egypt because of Daniel 11:43, Jordan because of Daniel 11:41, and Saudi Arabia because it does the best fence straddling in the Middle East.

I still hold to that grouping of ten nations plus Syria as the eleventh, out of which will arise the Islamic Antichrist. The ancient Roman Empire, at its greatest extent, extended into parts of all these countries, either by force or treaty. I have always believed the nations referred to as

the ten horns or toes would indeed come out of a revived Roman Empire, but out of its southern flank, not the northern flank that stretched across Europe.

Some wanted to know why I did not include Jordan as one of the Arab nations that would attack Israel, because it was not specifically mentioned as being attacked by the Antichrist, as was the case with Egypt in Daniel 11:43. Jordan did not exist by that name at the time Daniel wrote, but Egypt did and, since the Bible was written for all ages, the Lord named the ancient countries

that made up what we call Jordan today. The following quote comes from Archive Prophecy Update 46, which we issued in 2001.

“Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Iran will move rapidly southward through the “glorious land” of Israel like a fast moving thunderstorm, bypassing the land where the people of Moab, Ammon, and Edom were settled when Daniel wrote his prophecies in about 600 B.C. The descendants of Edom (Jacob’s brother), and Ammon and Moab (the sons of Lot), as found on every published map for this time period, were settled immediately to the southeast, east, and northeast of the Dead Sea, precisely in the country

we know as Jordan today. Hence, we can know that the antichrist will bypass Jordan as he moves south through Israel. Why would he bypass Jordan? She has no strategic, political, or economic advantage to offer him, but the Suez Canal and Egypt do, so he will head southwest toward that area after having driven the woman Israel into the Negev Wilderness south of Beersheba.”

I was challenged on Turkey when I first made the list because they were part of NATO, but I did not believe they would be accepted in the EU, and would swing back to Islam rather then secular pursuits.

I was also challenged on Sudan from the beginning, but I knew the Sudan, after it became the northern part of a new nation formed out of ancient Ethiopia, would became of the extreme Islamic governments. And, when the U.S. and its allies took over Iraq in Operation Iraqi Freedom, I was advised Iraq would not be one of the eleven toes and 10 horns, but I knew the composition of the Iraq population, and knew that the U.S. plan to build a stable democracy in Iraq was doomed to failure. Within a short time after the pullout of the Allied Coalition from Iraq, the new Government will be almost as opposed to the U.S. as Iran and Syria.

The following article from the Jerusalem Post is just another indicator Turkey will slip away from its western ties to become one of the nations that eventually comes against Israel as a part of the Islamic coalition. It is headed for crunch time in the Middle East and each of the nations of Islam is going to be forced to make decisions as to which side it would be more advantageous to appease, their brothers in Abraham around them or the western devils afar.

I believe they will choose to appease the iron toed brothers around them and their two buddies to the north

and the east, namely, Russia and China.

The hourglass has been turned, and the sands of time are running into its bottom, we are not far away from the last particles of sand to trickle from its top to end the fullness of this present Gentile age. I realize that my guesstimate of the initial attack against Israel by ten Arab nations occurring at some point in time between 2008 and 2012, which will begin the last three and one-half years of the fullness of the Gentiles, may not be correct.

No man can be sure as to when the last grain of sand will drop, but I are sure it is getting close.

Turkey Won’t Allow US to Use its Bases

Turkey does not intend to allow the United States to launch an attack against Iran from the Inchirlik military base, Turkish news agencies reported Sunday.

Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul told the Dubai-based al-Bayan that he doubted the US would ultimately choose to take military action, as “Iran has its own strategic advantages.”

Gul said that facilitating an attack against a neighboring country was “not an option,” despite the US offer to build Turkey a nuclear reactor as a counterbalance to Iran’s expanding nuclear facilities.

Turkey has long sought to develop nuclear power to make up for a limited supply of domestic energy and to reduce dependence on energy supplies from Iran and Russia and has chosen the coastal city of Sinop as the site of the country’s first nuclear power plant.

However, only Saturday, thousands rallied in Sinop to protest the planned nuclear facility.

Calls for Turkey to develop alternative energy sources were widespread during the past winter, when unexplained cuts in the supply of natural gas from Iran forced many companies to lower or entirely stop production.

Turkey first announced plans to build a reactor in 1996, but the project has repeatedly been put on hold due to financial problems.

Turkey’s refusal to comply with the US request was another indication of the growing tension between the two nations, which, according to Gul, have not “seen a single day of positive stability since the Islamic party was elected to power [in 2002].”

BOTH THE DOLLAR AND EURO ARE IN TROUBLE!

The six Common Market Nations, which prophetically were pictured by many writers in the 1960’s as rising quickly in number to 10, after which the next would house the 11th horn of Daniel 7, the Antichrist, who would come out of Europe. Also, it was predicted that the future currency of a united Europe was sure to become the Antichrist’s world currency. So, here we are, more than forty years later – the European Union beast has 25 horns and

the Euro currency stinks.

I also remember that in the 1960’s a growing number of prophetic buffs begin to identify America and its conspiracy riddled government as the beast, and say the Antichrist would take over America. The John Birch Society found numerous conspiracies everywhere, most of which were imaginary, and so, here we are, more than forty years later and the American dollar stinks.

Revelation 17:12,13 – And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. [13] These have one mind, and shall give their power

and strength unto the beast.

In the first book I ever wrote, Tectonic Chaos, in 1976, I wrote the following concerning Revelation 17:12,13: “The ten horns are ten Arab nations currently receiving great economic power as an OPEC oil block.

All ten of these Arab nations were once a part

of the vast Roman Empire. They will, by sudden economic growth, very quickly gain the scientific expertise of the world’s great powers – they will rise as a revived empire out of the ashes of the old Roman Empire.” This has, and is, happening today.

I also indicated that oil would replace the U.S. dollar in importance, and that is happening now.

Global Agenda: The Euro Enigma

What about the euro – the other major global currency? Why shouldn’t that rise against the dollar too?

There are several answers to this. One is that in the first round of the dollar’s fall, between mid-2002 and late 2004, the euro rose a great deal while the Asian currencies hardly rose at all. The second is that the euro will almost certainly rise in value to some extent in the next round of dollar decline.

In other words, the real issue is how to achieve a more equitable spread of the burden involved in the dollar’s fall – which causes problems for other countries, since it means they will sell less to the US.

But there is another answer, too, which is implicit in the need to spread the burden: the euro, which celebrated its seventh birthday in January this year, represents the problematic bunch of economies lumped together in the European Monetary Union. All of the three big economies in the euro area – Germany, France and Italy

– have serious economic problems.

Italy’s are by far the worst and have been compounded by the narrow election victory of a hodge-podge, left-wing coalition that includes too many parties, of which two are Communist and most are opposed to meaningful economic reform of the sort the Italian economy desperately needs.

France’s problems are less severe than Italy’s, but it too has a paralyzed government which recently had to withdraw a modest effort to make a partial reform in the country’s sclerotic labor market. Despite the pathetic performance of both President Jacques Chirac and Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin, it would be wrong to put the main blame on the French government: the huge demonstrations by trade unions and students proved that it is the French public that is opposed to reform of any sort.

The German economy is by far the best-performing of the trio, thanks to Germany’s highly successful export industries – but the domestic economy is still very weak.

On the government level, Chancellor Angela Merkel is clearly a tougher customer than her predecessor, but her ‘Grand Coalition’ is a cumbersome and probably ineffective vehicle for the kind of fundamental changes necessary.

In short, the euro is not very attractive. True, as soon as the Federal Reserve stops raising American interest rates, the euro is likely to become more attractive than the dollar – but that’s really not saying much.

If we have reached the point where the mainstream financial press is openly discussing the possibility of Italy’s underperformance resulting in its being forced to exit the common currency, then the euro faces fundamental challenges no less severe than the dollar.

Until their respective governments and populations are prepared to ‘bite the bullet,’ the world’s two major currencies are competing for the prize of wooden spoon.

stal plain. This latest report, on hatyusha rocket launchers being smuggled into Israel, is a continuation of a process that will eventually bring the events of Prophecy Update Number 2 to reality.

IDF: Katyusha Rockets Brought into Gaza

Palestinians have smuggled a number of Katyusha rockets into the Gaza Strip, potentially threatening towns well inside Israel, a senior Israeli military official said Friday.

The official said Israel is prepared to re-enter Gaza in response to the threat of the rockets, but has no plans to do so in the immediate future.

He spoke on condition of anonymity under military guidelines.

Since the disengagement from the Gaza Strip last summer, Katyushas have been smuggled through tunnels along the southern border with Egypt, the official said, adding that some parts have entered Gaza through the Rafah border crossing. The Rafah crossing is controlled by Palestinian security forces along with European monitors.

The official said some of the rockets were made by Iran, but gave few other details on their origins.

Last month, Islamic Jihad terrorists, who have close ties with Iran, fired a Katyusha rocket into southern Israel for the first time. The rocket caused no damage, but had longer range and was more powerful than the homemade rockets usually fired by Palestinian militants.

The official said Israel wants to avoid a ground operation in Gaza but will do so if the Palestinians increase their capabilities in a “significant way.” He cited the entrance of the Katyushas as a possible reason for military action.

PROPHECY UPDATE NUMBER 2

The areas surrounding two autonomous Palestinian cities on the bluffs east of the coastal cities of Tel Aviv, Netanya, and Haifa, will play a major role in the future attack of a confederation of Arab nations against Israel. Approximately 70% of Israel’s Jewish population lives in the coastal zone to the west of these bluffs, with most of that being concentrated in Haifa, Tel Aviv, and Netanya.

strial productivity is also in this area, as well as many important military installations. These high elevations, surrounding the two Palestinian controlled cities of Tul Karm and Kalkilya (Qalqilya), stratigically dominate the coastal zones from a military standpoint, sitting on the Sharon bluff of the western Samarian and Judean Mountains.

The Palestinians have been sneaking in thousands of katyusha rockets through tunnels under the Egyptian border. The rockets then pass through the Palestinian controlled Gaza Strip, and eventually end up in the areas around Tul Karm and Kalkilya.

I expect the IDF to eventually raid

these areas, but with only limited success.

The Palestinians have also been smuggling some katyushas across the Jordan River at night.

They move them westward through the dendritic openings of the eastern Judean and Samarian Mountains. They eventually pass through the highlands around Jenin, Nablus, and south of Afula. Some are hidden in the caves around Jenin for launching against Israel forces that would come north through

the Jordan Valley to repulse the Syrian attack from the north. But the main weaponry smuggled into these areas consists of antitank shoulder launchers, which have been concealed in these zones in countless numbers from Afula to Jenin to Nablus to Ramalla.

Thousands of kayusha rockets are well hidden in the karst topography around Tul Karm and Kalkilya. The numerous limestone caves in this area often have narrow openings that cannot be identified from the air, and they also can be cleverly concealed from surface detection. The Palestinians can rapidly recover these rockets in the event of an all out war. They can be quickly installed on the rear of a long based truck, where their mobility will increase the difficulty of detection by Israel’s aircraft. Katyusha rockets do not have a long range potential, but are deadly accurate at distances less than 100 miles. The air distances of Tul Karm and Kalkilya from Haifa, Netanya, and Tel Aviv varies from as little as 20 miles, to as much as 60 miles, which is certainly within the range of fantastic accurary for the katyusha rockets.

When the future surprise attack is launched against Israel from the north

from Syria and Lebanon, thousands of these rockets will shower down on the coastal population from Tel Aviv to Haifa.

This surprise attack by a confederation of Islamic nations will be greatly aided by the well coordinated internal attack of

the Palestinians, and will make it possible for Israel to be driven into the Negev south of Beersheva. I believe it is likely that this attack will occur only after Israel has been lulled into a false sense of security.
