Active preparation of the Negev Wilderness in southern Israel for use as a War Contingency Evacuation Area began in the early nineteen fifties,

and the process is now being accelerated to make way for the Israeli families dislocated out of the Gaza Strip and West Bank under Sharon’s Unilateral Disengagement Plan.

Prophecy Update Number 6 in our Archives was issued more than five years ago on our Web Site – Following it there is an article about what is happening in the Negev development today, which was extracted from an article by Greer Fay Cashman in the Jerusalem Post.

PROPHECY UPDATE NUMBER 6

January 2001

Prophecy Update Number 5 ended by mentioning the area to which Israel will flee for safety during the later portion of the tribulation period.

In Revelation 12:6 we find this flight described in graphic detail: “And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.” Prophetic years in scripture are based on a year of 360 days, hence this represents a period of three and one-half years. So Israel will be kept trapped in the Negev wilderness for the last 3 and ½ years of the tribulation period.

Israel has spent billions and billions of dollars preparing the Negev for the possibility of such an evacuation of her population in the in the event of a sudden attack from the north. The Negev has been the central focus of her war contingency plan from the beginning.

Her God put this thinking in the minds of her political and military leaders in the late forties, and active preparation of the area began in the early fifties. Today, the Negev is the most cleverly camouflaged zone on the surface of the earth, and unless sky satellites had watched it being prepared, one would not suspect that numerous military installations were implanted in it.

Even knowing where certain defense mechanisms were originally placed, it is now extremely difficult to spot them, even driving by them at ground level. Thousands of tourists pass through the Negev and admire the beauty of her terrain from her roads, but her military capabilities are cleverly camouflaged on the surface, hidden beneath her, and concealed inside her mountains.

Active preparation of the Negev began in the early fifties.

After the Six Day War of June, 1967, Israel poured her finances and efforts into the creation of a hidden fortress

in the Negev wilderness. The Yom Kippur War of 1973 was followed by Israel quadrupling her military forces by 1980, and the bulk of this increase was placed in the vast Sinai. The peace treaty between Israel and Egypt led to the evacuation of this increase in men and equipment from the Sinai into the much smaller Negev. This turned the already heavily fortified Negev into an impenetrable fortress. By 1983 the Sinai IDF and equipment had been withdrawn into the Negev. The IDF packed up about 80 thousand tons of military equipment, same 3800 military vehicles, and 3 airfields, and moved it into the Negev. The Negev is about 20 percent the size of the Sinai. By 1988 about 40 new military camps had been set up in the Negev. By 1990 the Negev had been topographically tr ansformed, at a f

antastic expense, into an area no enemy would dare to attempt to penetrate.

When Syria, assisted by troops from Iraq and Iran that will be secretly and very slowly smuggled in across her southern and western borders, attacks Israel from the north, then Israel will get to use her Negev wilderness for about 3 and ½ years. These three nations, because of the sharing of satellite information received from the Russians about the Negev, know all about the military strength there and, because of this, will stop their southward push into Israel just north of Beersheba. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will be able to hold the Negev, and the woman Israel will stay there for the last 3 and ½ years of the tribulation period.

Torch-lighters Represent Negev, Galilee Development

It was the great dream of founding father David Ben-Gurion to make the desert bloom.

The dream is getting a major boost Tuesday evening, when the government will officially inaugurate the Year of Development of the Negev and the Galilee at the opening ceremony to mark Israel’s 58th year of independence.

This plan of action started under the previous government, when then prime minister Ariel Sharon put Shimon Peres, one of Ben-Gurion’s most loyal and ardent disciples in charge of the Negev and Galilee Development Project and created a ministry for the purpose.

On Monday, Interim Prime Minister Ehud Olmert met with Peres to ask him to continue in this essential ministerial position.

In keeping with this year’s Independence Day theme, all beacons on Mount Herzl will be lit by people with tangible connections to the Negev or the Galilee. Some of the beacons will be lit individually and the others will be lit by pairs.

The following named persons were among the 14 beacon lighters:

Maj.-Gen. (res.) Doron Almog was formerly OC Southern Command.

Almog, who lost a brother in the Yom Kippur War, and is the father of a brain-damaged son, initiated and founded Aleh Negev, an occupational rehabilitation center in the Negev.

Elie Elalouf is the Director-General of the Sacta-Rashi Foundation, which operates hundreds of educational, health and welfare projects for underprivileged children and youth mainly in the Negev and the Galilee with the assistance of private donations from abroad.

Yehuda Dekel is Chairman of the Society for the Preservation of Israel Heritage Sites. Dekel, who spearheaded Mitzpeh (Lookout) settlements in the Galilee and community settlements

in the Negev, has held many high-profile positions in the Jewish Agency and has also been involved in developing industrial and tourism-oriented projects in the Negev and the Galilee.

Ruth Kaplan, who was born in the US in 1946, has lived in the Arava from the age of 17, settling in Moshav Hatzeva before it was accorded settlement status. The desert agriculture experience which she gained together with her friends and colleagues over the years, is now standard practice in all Arava farms.. She continues to derive her income from agriculture and her sons follow in her footsteps in Moshav Hatzeva. She is a member of the Tamar Regional Council.

Zacharia Liraz-Feld is the promoter and organizer of wide-ranging cultural activities in the Negev and the Galilee – Ofakim, Beersheba, Arad, Tiberias, Safed and Merom HaGalil – including the Arad Festival, the Safed Klezmer Festival, the Druze and Circassian Culture Festivals and other educational events.

Stef Wertheimer is renowned as an innovative industrialist. Wertheimer, a former Member of Knesset , has founded many enterprises, including four industrial parks in the Galilee and the Negev.

His has made major contributions to job-generation initiatives and industrial and business entrepreneurship. Over the years, Wertheimer’s creativity has been directed towards educational, social-related and art-oriented projects.

Dr. Esther Luzzatto was born into a large and well-known family in Beersheba and is a partner in a patent attorney law firm. She constantly combines her work with public service. A Ben-Gurion University graduate with a doctorate in chemistry, Luzzatto serves as Deputy President of the university’s Alumni Association.

She is also one of the founders of the Negev Hi-Tech Center.

THE SANDS OF THE TIME GLASS ARE RUNNING OUT!

Genesis 15:5,6 – And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. [6] And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

Ezekiel 37:10 – So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

The army of Israel is by far the best army in the Middle East. It will take a large coalition of Arab nations to initially drive them out of the land from Dan to Beersheba into the Negev Wilderness, but three and one-half years later they will come up out of the Negev, recapture the holy city, all the land as far north as Hamath in Syria, as far east as the Euphrates River, and as far west as the Mediterranean and the River of Egypt.

Genesis 15:18 – In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

Ezekiel 47:17 – And the border from the sea shall be Hazar-enan, the

border of Damascus, and the north northward, and the border of Hamath.

And this is the north side.

On Wednesday, Independence Day in Israel, it was the first time since the Dispersion that more Jews were found in Israel than in any other country.

Based on population projections, if I am correct in my guesstimate of Israel fleeing into the Negev ahead of an advancing Jihad coalition of 10 Islamic nations, at some point in time between 2008 and 2012, then if the attack occurred at the beginning of that period, the number fleeing would be approximately 1.8 million, but if it occurred at the end, then the number would be approximately 2.1 million.

Report: More Jews in Israel than in any Other Country

For the first time since the first century, there are more Jews in Israel today than in

any other country, according to data published by the Central Bureau of Statistics on Monday.

Ahead of Independence Day on Wednesday, the bureau, which is one of Israel’s top demographers, announced that the country’s population currently stands at 7.03 million, a population increase of 118,000 since a year ago.

According to the report, 5.33 million are Jews, making up 76 percent of the total population. There are 1.39 million Arabs, contributing to approximately 20%.

“If current trends continue, there could be an absolute majority of world Jewry living in Israel within 25-30 years,” said Professor Sergio Della-Pergola

of the A. Harmann Institute of Contemporary Jewry at the Hebrew University and the Jewish People Policy Planning Institute. He attributed the increase to

the higher number of births than deaths amongst Israeli Jews – there were some 138,000 new babies born since Independence Day 2005 – estimating that this alone added around 70,000 to the current figure. “Israel is the only country in the world with a natural increase in its Jewish population,” commented Della-Pergola.

By comparison, he said that population increases due to aliya were almost negated by the migration of Israelis abroad.

Although there were 21,000 new immigrants, after taking migrants out of Israel into account, new olim only swelled the Jewish population by “a few thousand” this year.

The Jewish population of the United States is notoriously difficult to measure, according to Della-Pergola. “The last surveys were taken in 2001, and even then the figures are not as accurate as the numbers provided by Israeli statisticians,” he said. The 2001 surveys stated that there were around 5.3 million Jews in America, though Della-Pergola expects that number to have declined somewhat over the last five years.

“In 1990 there were an estimated 5.515 million Jews in the US, in 2001 there were only 5.3 million,” he commented, and suggested that extrapolation of this declining figure would mean a figure today lower than the 2001 estimate.

Additional figures which emerged from the Central Bureau of Statistics report showed that the five most populated Israeli cities were Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa, Rishon Lezion and Ashdod, with a combined population of 1.79 million – a quarter of Israel’s total population.

Operation Unilateral Settlement Displacement Continues into Negev

My first incursion into the Middle East was some 54 years ago, four years after Israel became a state. I have lost count of how many times I have been back in that troubled area since that first year I spent there.

Jordan occupied the West Bank and old city of Jerusalem at that time. The Negev was a barren waste.

I marveled every time I went back at the fantastic changes in the Negev, and at the ability of the Israel Defense Forces to conceal the military installations and weapons defense systems.

If I had not watched them shift their military equipment and facilities out of the vast Sinai into the much smaller Negev, and then continued to watch their new technology being installed until I retired from the National Security Agency in 1971, I could never have imagined the Negev would become a vast desert fortress, and a War Contingency Evacuation Area in the event of Israel being overrun from the north.

Gov’t to Enlarge Negev Communities

The Israel Lands Authority began on Monday to prepare land adjacent to the communities of the Hevel Shalom area near the Egyptian border and the Gaza Strip for residential and farming purposes.

The ILA’s decision came as part of the preparation for six communities – Yated, Yevul, Dekel, Prigan, Talmei Yosef and Sde Avraham – to absorb 40 families each.

The Agriculture Ministry approved the expansion of

the six communities by 3,200 dunams, and will raise their water allowances in accordance with the number of families the communities absorb.

The expansion was intended, among other things, to accommodate families evacuated from the Gaza Strip in last year’s disengagement.

Earthquakes are going to be a fantastic worldwide chaotic scenario one day, and I do not believe that day is in the far distant future. One of the reasons I believe this is based on what I see in the general attitude of the free world toward the Middle East threat, which I believe is likely to lead to a united Arab Jihad against Israel.

They say that Nero fiddled while Rome Burned, which may or may not be true. But it is true that Rome burned because of its moral decay and fleshly pleasure that turned the spirit of its people from vigilance to one of compromise with evil and persecution of Christianity. You cannot compromise with evil in the hope it will leave you alone. By its very nature it cannot leave you alone, and in the end will destroy you if you simply rock back and hope it

will confined itself to hurting other people, but not you.

I am NOT sending the article which follows because it will change what is going to happen, nor did I write the preceding paragraph believing that it would change the mindset of the world’s population. I have NOT tried to warn mankind for 31 years that the world is heading for a burning time of Jacob’s trouble AFTER the 40th anniversary of the 100 hour war between Islam and Israel in June of 1967, which is coming up in June of 1967, BECAUSE I thought it would change anything, or that anyone would believe it.

I did it in the hope that once it begins, it may be of some use to those who either read or heard it, regardless of their opinion of it now. I DO guesstimate the most likely time for the initial attack by Islam against Israel to be at some point in time from 2008 to 2012, but I freely admit, that is a guess on my part.

But it is coming, and cannot be at some point in time in the FAR distant future.

I did not write “Tectonic Chaos,” “Tribulation Triad,” “The Bottomless Pit,” and “Birth Pangs from the Bottomless Pit,” to make money or to gain popularity.

I DID NOT EXPECT very many to believe them. I did write them because I hoped, when Jacob’s trouble did suddenly begin, they would be of some use to those who did read them. I warned about the rise of Islam in every one of them from the first in the mid-seventies to the last in the mid-eighties, not because I thought very many would believe it when I wrote them, but that more might come to take a second look at them in the nineties. I hope you are taking a second look at it now in this century. Jacob’s trouble is coming, three and one-half years of great tribulation, and Israel and the rest of mankind will not turn to the Messiah for deliverance, nor will the free world stand up to the evil of Islam, but will cover its eyes and hope it will go away, uttering politically correct statements in the hope it will placate the evil mindset of Islam against the infidels of the free world.

The Coming Armageddon

Appeasement often takes the Form of Denial.

Hitler never really meant that he would invade Czechoslovakia, or Poland. “Mein Kampf” didn’t really mean what was written.

Could six million Jews really have died? Arafat wasn’t a terrorist.

Hamas is the democratically elected leadership of the Palestinian people. They should be given every assistance. The worldwide anger, and rampant murderous acts by Muslims, is justified and excused. Iran really won’t develop an atomic bomb. The Iranian President doesn’t really mean what he says. And in the defensive anger of this denial, Israel is portrayed as the guilty party. Israel and America.

All diversions and distractions are used to avoid the painful truth – Facts, history, bold statements, truths are swept aside in an additional effort at denial. Appeasement must cover the horrendous face of truth, because the truth is too painful and too horrible to contemplate.

And so, in a personal attempt to reveal the march of history, allow me to highlight a few pointers that are leading to our future. In several European countries, the invasion of Arab and Muslim immigrants has been accepted as an almost natural and welcome development of a multi-cultural society. Their advocates insist that they will be a contributing addition to their host countries. This is incorrect. They will contribute only to a change in the established norms and practices, until each country will become submissive to the will of the immigrants, and convert to Shari’ a law.

I protest that the March of Islam is not benign. I insist that the problem is not the ‘moderate’, law abiding Muslim citizens in those countries. The problem lies with the moderate, non-protesting, indigenous population who, by their silence, have become a Fifth Column

within their own country. By doing nothing, by allowing their leaders to allow the continuation of this invasion, they are aiding and abetting a future they cannot contemplate.

The signs were there as early as the 70s. In 1972, Palestinian terror chief, George Habash told Italian journalist, Oriana Fallaci, that the Palestinian problem was about far more than Israel. The Arab goal, he told her, was to wage war against Europe and America.

“There would be no peace for the West. The Arabs would advance step by step, millimeter by millimeter, year after year, decade after decade. Determined, stubborn, patient. This is our strategy. A strategy we shall expand throughout the whole planet.”

This philosophy was shared by Yasser Arafat. Arafat never had any intention of accepting a rump state of Palestine. Not for him to be an emperor in a gilded cage. For all the fawning and appeasement by world leaders, Arafat harbored grander dreams.

There is, however, the Palestinian strategy of the Trojan Horse that is being applied by the Muslim invasion of Europe and even the USA. Arafat’s acceptance of a return from Tunis to the territories granted to him in the West Bank and Gaza was never seen by

him as the land in which to build his state.

Instead, it was grabbed as a base from which to continue the Trojan Horse policy of pressing Israel for more concessions and land deliveries.

It mattered not to Arafat whether this would be achieved by statesmanship, diplomacy, or terror, the Islamic march of Palestine would continue beyond the elimination of the Jewish State.

But the Arab and Islamic march on Europe was not a local Palestinian dream. It was soaked into the soul of most Islamic leaders. Yet, even when public pronouncements were clearly made, outlining their intentions, the appeasers refused to listen.

Three years after he had led Algeria to independence, President Houari Boumedienne stood in the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1974 and declared, “One day, millions of men will leave the southern Hemisphere to burst into the northern one. But not as friends. They will burst in to conquer. They will conquer it by populating it with their children. Victory will come to us from the wombs of our women.”

This clear statement of intent was ignored as fantasy by all. Is it ringing a warning bell today? In 1997, a London-based Imam said, “We cannot conquer these people with tanks and troops. We have got to overcome them by the force of our numbers.”

Many see Europe becoming Eurabia.

Others see London, represented by people like Ken Livingstone, Georg Galloway, Claire Short, and others, as becoming Londonistan. The European Left has fallen over themselves to side with radical Islam as part of their hate campaign against America, Israel and anybody who shares the democratic vision of these countries. But this is the face of the patient March of Islam.

What is equally, or more, disturbing are the impatient rantings of the President of Iran. Many view his statements denying the Holocaust, while threatening the next one, as a sort of sick joke.

T he same appeasers and apologists support Ahmadinejad by claiming that

he is telling the truth when he says that all he really wants is to provide his people with clean nuclear energy. They ignore the fact that Iran has the biggest natural resources of fuel that can keep the Iranians in home-developed energy for generations to come.

And here is the biggest, and most frightening denial of all. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a religious fanatic who truly believes that the coming of the Twelfth Imam, for him the coming of the true Messiah, IS DUE TO COME WITHIN TWO YEARS. The world, according to his belief, is due for a time of cosmic chaos, bloodshed, war, and famine.

Ahmadinejad portrays America and Israel as the forces of evil and darkness. This fits the description of the enemy that must be faced in cataclysmic confrontation in order to create the End Times that will herald the arrival of the Imam Mahdi.

And if anybody thinks that this man does not really mean what he says, please remind them that Iranian President Ahmadinejad stood at the same podium as the Algerian President, thirty two years before him, and made a speech in the most apocalyptic terms, concluding with the prophetic prayer to hasten the coming of the Mahdi to “hasten the emergence of your last repository, the Promised One, that perfect and pure human being.”

The world has, again, been warned.

Like a giant jigsaw puzzle, each piece of the final scenario is slipping into its place.

It appears that foreign troops will be out of Iraq by mid-2008, which will open the door for a Jihad attack against Israel without ground interference from the United States, and the Security Barrier will have been completed around the Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip and West Bank to give Israel the mindset of a relative peace.

The chaotic conditions will continue in the Middle East around Israel, but with a vigilant IDF along her inner border with the Palestinians, and along her outer borders with Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and the Egyptian Sinai, she will finally attain a mindset of relative “peace and safety” as a people. Then sudden destruction will come upon them. My guesstimate for the time of this sudden destruction to begin is at some point in time between 2008 and 2012.

I Thessalonians 5:3-4 – For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

Israel has decided to accelerate construction of its controversial West Bank separation barrier as Palestinian efforts to halt the project have failed.

The Israeli Cabinet agreed on several changes in the route of the West Bank security barrier that will enable construction to proceed more quickly.

“We must move forward,” said Interim Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. He said Palestinian suicide bombers will continue to pose a threat in the future, and completing the fence will enable Israel to improve its counter-terrorism capabilities.

The new route of the barrier effectively annexes some West Bank territory, in order to protect two big Jewish settlement blocks. Therefore, Palestinians say, it is a land grab that will lead to more conflict.

They say many Palestinians have been cut off from their land, schools, social services and families.

But Israeli analyst Dan Schueftan says, what is important to the Israeli government

is that the fence saves Jewish lives.

“It is of major strategic importance, and I am delighted, better late than never, that now they understand that they must speed it up,” said Schueftan.

Israel began building the barrier four years ago, but construction has been slowed by legal obstacles and bureaucracy. But Israel fears a new wave of Palestinian terror following the recent election of the Islamic militant group, Hamas, and therefore, completing the fence became a national priority.

The World Court in The Hague has ruled that the barrier is illegal under international law and must be torn down. But as far as Israel is concerned, the sooner the fence is built, the better.
