Off Again, On Again, Gone Again, Finnagan & Nuclear Tunnel Vision!

The two articles from the Washington Post and Sunday Telegraph (UK) were extracted from the Daily Alert Jerusalem Center.
They follow the preamble below.
Once upon a time there was an Irishman who was the engineer on a daily train run from Chicago to New Orleans. He was noted for not being able to keep the train on the track, and suffered derailment after derailment, just like the Irani
an nuclear enrichment talks have suffered derailment after derailment. Each time that Finnagan’s train suffered a derailment, he would send a lengthy telegram describing how it was not his fault, some of them were 100 pages in length.
It got to the point that the telegrams were costing as much as the derailments. So, they called Finnigan into the main Chicago Office and told him: “Look, Finnigan, we know the derailments are not your fault, but if you send us another long telegram after having one, we are going to fire you, so make them BRIEF.”
Well, sure enough, Finnagan had another derailment a month later and, following the instructions to be brief, he sent the following telegram: Off Again, On Again, Gone Again, Finnigan!
That has been the story of
the Iranian nuclear enrichment talks since the beginning, derailment after derailment, followed by off again, on again, gone again, Iranagain. When I was actually typing up this Blog, I received another notification they were on again, after just having been advised by the article which follows they were off again, which makes my point. The truth is that Iran is stalling for the maximum amount of time it can get in order to complete the enrichment process all by its “little ole” self, before the UN takes any action against it. And, even if Russia does reach some agreement with them, it will be as phony as a three dollar bill.
Iran is preparing a massive complex of numerous tunnels deep below the surface in an underground command center for any contingency they will face in the future, which is living proof they are determined to develop nuclear warheads for their Shihab-3 series.

• Iran Rejects Russian Uranium Proposal –
Karl Vick
Iran has rejected a Russian proposal to enrich uranium on its behalf. “The Russian proposal is not on our agenda any more,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said Sunday.
Asefi’s dismissal “destroys the last and real possibility of a compromise,” said Konstantin Kosachyov, who chairs the international affairs committee of the Duma.
“By all accounts, Tehran’s decision will seriously radicalize the upcoming debates over the IAEA report in the UN Security Council, since trust in Tehran’s plans and ambitions has been strongly undermined.”
Kosachyov said it was “increasingly clear that Tehran has never seen the Russian proposal as a replacement for a national uranium enrichment program
and only considered it as an addition to it.” (Washington Post)

• Iran Builds Secret Underground Command Center –
Philip Sherwell
Iran’s leaders have built a secret underground emergency command center beneath the Abbas Abad district in north Tehran as they prepare for a confrontation with the West over their illicit nuclear program.
The recently completed command center is connected by tunnels to other government compounds near the Mossala prayer ground. The Revolutionary Guard has overseen the development of subterranean chambers and tunnels – some more than half a mile long and an estimated 35ft high and wide – at sites across
the country for research and development work on nuclear
and rocket programs.
The Iranian regime is also reviewing its contingency plans to attack tankers and American naval forces in the Persian Gulf and to mine the Strait of Hormuz, through which about 20% of world oil production passes each day.
The naval wing of the Revolutionary Guard has in recent years practiced “swarming” raids, using its flotilla of small rapid-attack boats to simulate assaults on commercial vessels and U.S. warships, according to Ken Timmerman, an American expert on Iran. (Sunday Telegraph-UK)
