As I detailed in Archive Prophecy Update Numbers 27 and 28, the many descendants of Magog, at the time of Ezekiel’s writings, covered that part of the globe we now identify as Russia. Russian will be a part of the many nations that come down to attack Israel at the final battle of Armageddon, but it will not be a part of the attack of 10 Arab nations that come to attack the Israelis some three and one-half years before Armageddon. Russia, the European Union, China, Eurasia, and Africa will be invited by the Assyrian Antichrist to be active partners in the final great battle of Armageddon against Israel in the Negev. The vast world oil reserves of the Middle East will be too much of a temptation for them to ignore. A task force led by the Moskva and the Azov landing ship became the first Russian naval force in a decade to call at a Syrian port.

DEBKAfile’s military sources report: The force sailed out of its home port of Sevastopol on the Black Sea, on Feb. 5, to jo in a NATO-led anti-terrorist operation

in the Mediterranean for a combined three-month drill focusing on combating the smuggling of weapons of mass destruction, illegal weapons trade and migration.

The drill is named The Active Endeavors Operation. NATO leaders and US army chiefs were keen enough on Russian participation for NATO secretary general Jaap de Hoop Scheffer to promise the gesture of the first visit by an alliance chief aboard the Moskva. However, neither he nor the Americans taking part in the exercise had any idea that the Russian naval force intended to break away from the exercise long enough to put in at a Syrian port – a call which Syrian president Bashar Assad took as a gesture of support from Moscow.

The visit underlined the Kremlin’s plan to play a larger part in the military affairs of the Middle East, largely by making friendly overtures to America’s adversaries. President Vladimir Putin’s invitation to discuss arms sales in Moscow with an invited Hamas delegation was part of this picture.

The Moskva missile cruiser was built in 1982 to hunt down and destroy aircraft carriers.

It underwent major repairs which were completed in 2000.

It carries a 510-man crew and its main armament is the Bazalt cruise missile, which weighs 6 tons, has a speed of Mach 2.5 and range of 550 km.

The 186.5-meter vessel can carry either a nuclear warhead or a 500-kilo conventional one. Its S300f anti air system stretches over the Moskva an aerial umbrella with a 75 kilometer radius. It is also equipped to fight submarines.

On Feb. 15, in the course of the NATO drill, the Moskva captured the British destroyer the Nottingham when it played the part of the enemy. The Russian cruiser also seized the Spanish frigate Navarro.

I love my country, President Bush, and the American men and women that are guarding our freedom on a worldwide stage, and I was fully in support of invading Iraq and getting rid of Saddam Hussein, but I have never been in favor of attempting to establish a democracy in Iraq. I gave my specific reasons for this belief in the last Blog. I first stated this before we invaded Iraq, became specific about it in Archive Prophecy Update Number 170B, and emphatic about it in Archive Prophecy Update Number 197AS, which I titled “Get Outta Town.”

I am reissuing 197AS exactly as it was written word for word in 2004. I am more convinced of it now than when I wrote it.

What follows is quoted from Special Prophecy Archive Update Number 170B, and, as I indicated in Archive Update 197A, my sentiments are still the same today. We are currently launching an offensive against all Iraqi cities used as hideouts for the terrorists, which will pave the way for the completion of successful democratic elections in late January of 2005.

Once that election is complete, we need to start removing our troops in a steady, organized manner, such that by 2006 no American troops will be in-country.

I believe any democratic government formed in Iraq will fall before 2007 ends.

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR US TO ESTABLISH A DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT IN IRAQ THAT WILL LAST – IT WOULD ONLY LAST AS LONG AS A LARGE AMERICAN ARMY WAS IN PLACE TO ENFORCE IT.

The real problem in Iraq began in 1932, the year I was born.

Iraq was also born that year as the first of the League of Nations mandate states.

So, after 1932, Iraq was formally independent.

There was still, of course, a large measure of British influence and power there, but it was certainly independent earlier than any of the other Arab states. The British were largely responsible for the impossible attempt to merge together four major contentious groups into one state, the Shiite, the Sunni, the Kurds, and the Assyrians. It would have been far better to have four countries with separate borders than to attempt to put four wildcats into a sack and call the sack a state. And there are many other smaller groups of ethnic wildcats that also were placed in the sack.

It was inevitable that a government would eventually come into existence that would be held together by absolute force of a dictator.

It is most unfortunate that the dictator who finally grabbed power was Saddam.

Most dictators are happy to rule their own country with an iron hand, but Saddam had illusions of grandeur to be the great Islamic messiah who would even exceed the greatness of Saladin the Kurd and, in the end, be ruler over all of the Arab world. The only real solution to the problem, generated in 1932, is to establish governmental borders that separate the four major ethnic groups, and let each group internally fight it out as to the kind of government they want. After the dust has settled you may only have two or three states continuing to fight each other for dominance, but they will be fighting each other rather than the United States and Israel.

The continuous argument I have heard echo across the world’s political scenario from before Operation Desert Storm through Operation Iraqi Freedom is this – DO NOT DISTURB THE STABILITY OF

THE REGION! And everyone seems to agree on how important it is to NOT disturb it! I totally disagree!

I was hoping we would go in, get rid of Saddam, his henchmen, and his Baath Party, then pull out as quickly as possible, and let all hell break loose between the Sunnis, Shiites, Kurds, and many other ethnic groups that make up Iraq. They would not be able to concentrate on how much they hate us and Israel, because they would be too busy hating each other. Then, after the smoke and killing ended in a truce, Iraq would probably be splintered into three separate countries, Kurdistan dominated by Turkey, Sunnistan dominated by Syria, and Shiitestan as a part of Iran. As far as I am concerned, the more instability, political turmoil, and confusion we see among all of the nations of Islam, the better off the United States (the big Satan as we are called) and Israel (the little Satan) will be in the world’s fickle climate. If I thought there was any possibility of actually installing a democratic type of government in Iraq, then I would say it would be worth the price we are paying in American blood to do so, but it is a futile pipedream, no matter how noble it may seem to those who favor it. I have been a supporter of both father and son Bush in their presidencies. I do continue to admire them both, and will vote for the son in November. However, I do not agree with the idea of attempting to establish a democracy in the midst of Islam because it is impossible – admirable, but beyond the scope of possibility in this generation. We need to get out and let them slug it

out among themselves. In any case, whatever happens, Iraq will be one of the tens associated with Daniel 2 & 7, and Revelation 13 and 17. The Lamb King of the soon coming Kingdom foretold in Revelation 17:14 is the King of the Kingdom found in Daniel 2:44 and 7:27, and he is the only one who can bring lasting peace and stability to the Middle East under a theocracy. The Old Roman Empire had a large southern flank that, at one time, included all of what we know as the Islamic nations stretching from Morocco to Iran, which number more than the ten required to choose from as being the toes or horns in Daniel and Revelation.

Daniel 2:42,44 – And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. [44] And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

Daniel 7:24-27 – And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. [25] And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. [26] But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.

Revelation 17:12-14 – And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. [13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. [14] These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

I believe events in the Middle East, as chaotic as they seem to be at the moment, are beginning to finally phase into the prophesied pattern the Scriptures indicate will lead into a brief period of false peace, which will eventually be followed by a surprise lightning Jihad against Israel.

Islamic Posturing for the Withdrawal of Foreign Forces from Iraq!

The terrorist groups have discovered how to further divide the different sects in Iraq. They have been trying to inflame them against each other by killing numerous Shiite Muslims, trying to lead them to believe the Sunni Muslims did the killing – Up to this point that technique had not proven to be overly successful. But now the terrorists have blown the top over one of the most holy Shiite Mosques in Iraq, and it was highly successful in igniting Shiite fury against the Sunnis. One account today indicated up to 90 Sunni Mosques had been damaged in retaliation.

It has long been obvious to me that a “lasting” democratic government can never be established in Iraq. I applaud the efforts of our President and the valiant American troops who fought so valiantly to free Iraq from the grasp of the butcher Saddam Hussein, many having given their lives in the cause. And I praise the efforts of our forces in their training of Iraqi personnel to take charge of security when we withdraw. I have nothing but praise for our President and troops, but I must be honest as an analyst – There is no way a democratic government can ever exist after our troops pull out for more than a year.

From the beginning I was in favor of going into Iraq and getting rid of Saddam Hussein. But then I believed we should get out and let the Kurds, Sunnis, Shiites, and numerous other sects slug it

out for control of their zones of majority population. I was told that would be wrong because it would destabilize the Middle East but, quite frankly, I never believed that would be a bad thing. I have always believed it would be best for them to be fighting each other than us and Israel. I have lived among the different religious beliefs of the Middle East and, knowing the beliefs of the different sects, and the history of how Iraq came into existence as a modern country, I was acutely aware they could not come together to form a “lasting” democracy.
Our continued presence in Iraq, after we flushed out Saddam Hussein and his cronies, has allowed the terrorist groups to further inflame the Muslim world against us. They have convinced the Islamic world that we are like the Crusaders of the Middle Ages, come into the lands of Islam to enforce Christianity among them.

And our continued presence has been used to further inflame the Muslim world to believe their long standing claim that we are the big Devil and Israel is the Little Devil.

With the breakup of the colonial empires in the Middle East following WW 1, came the withdrawal of the controlling foreign powers, and the carving up of large segments of the Middle East into separate countries. Unfortunately, the borders of Iraq were carved out in such a way that it included large segments of Kurds, Sunni, and Shiites, plus a multiplicity of assorted other nationalities. Iraq was carved out of the old Ottoman Empire by France and Great Britain in the Sykes-Picot Agreement. On 11 November 1920 it became a League of Nations mandate under British control with the name “State of Iraq”.

The British government laid out the political and constitutional framework for Iraq’s government. Britain imposed a Hashimite monarchy on Iraq and defined the territorial limits of Iraq without taking into account the aspirations of the different ethnic and religious groups in the country, in particular those of the Kurds to the north.

All the ancient tribal hatreds between the different factions inside the borders of the new nation of Iraq made it impossible for any democratic government to stand very long. It was inevitable that a strong absolute dictator had to arise to control the factions by blood and terror. That leader was, of course, Saddam Hussein. I have never believed the real problem was Iraq – It was one man, Saddam Hussein. He held the Kurds and Shiites together with his Sunni government by some of the most brutal and terrifying acts of this present age.

The original mistake was made in the 1920 creation of Iraq by putting all three in the same box. They should have created three separate states,

one for the Kurds, one for the Sunnis, and one for the Shiites. That is why we should get out and let them slug it out to establish their own individual states.

I suspect the foreign forces will be withdrawn from Iraq by 2008, and the security turned over to the Iraqi forces now being trained to assume that responsibility.

I will be very surprised if the current government lasts more then a year, after the American troops pull out.

I believe it will break apart to become an Islamic Republic, and will be one of the 10 nations of Islam that eventually launch a Jihad against Israel.

DEBKAfile Exclusive: Iran extends its sponsorship of terrorists to Hamas, promising training facilities for Palestinians – on top of generous support for Abu Musab al Zarqawi’s Iraqi fighters

This week’s Tehran visit by a Hamas delegation led by politburo chief Khaled Meshaal ushered in an era of close military collaboration between the Islamic republic and the Palestinian terrorists, according to DEBKAfile’s military sources.

Earlier this year DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s counter-terror sources uncovered Iran’s support in military training, logistical support, weapons and money for the terrorists fighting US forces in Iraq under Abu Musab al Zarqawi. It was the subject of US ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad’s accusation at a news conference in Baghdad Monday, Feb. 20.

We reported earlier that Iranian agents in Iraq were: 1. Passing money and arms to Sunni guerillas in Iraq and choosing their Iraqi and US targets. 2. Running training camps for Zarqawi’s men. 3. Offering al Qaeda combat personnel three-week holidays at special rest and recuperation centers in Iran. 4. Providing hospital care in Iran for injured Iraqi Sunni insurgents and al Qaeda terrorists.

Ambassador Khalilzad said Monday Washington does not “want Iranian interference in Iraq, providing arms and training the militias and forces which are hostile to this new Iraq.” While Iraq and Iran maintained good relations, he warned “Iran has another policy as well, which is to work with the militias and extremist groups and provide training and weapons, direct or indirect.” He criticized Tehran`s demand for British forces to withdraw immediately from the southern city of Basra. Tehran’s hostility to Washington is unabashed.

So too is its hostility

to the Jewish state.

Israel should therefore expect the worst.

While Iranian officials talk big about making up the future Hamas government’s shortfall from an international aid cutoff, the money is not nearly on stream. According to DEBKAfile’s Iranian sources, Hamas leaders in Tehran played hard to get; they balked at putting themselves entirely in Iran’ s power or letting the Pale

stinian Authority become an Iranian dependency or outpost. However, Meshaal and party welcomed any assistance on offer for building a Hamas-controlled military force, available also to support any Tehran action against Israel, whether direct attacks or terrorism modeled on the Iraqi guerrilla-terrorist insurgency.

The Hamas delegation and Iranian leaders came to an agreement for Hamas military missions to be invited to Tehran and given all the formal honors of official Palestinian Authority delegations. The Islamic republic will also make training camps available for Ham as terrorists

as well as weapons and military aid.

God’s Davidic Covenant Fulfilled after a War with Belial’s Sons!

There are some interesting parallels in II Samuel 23:5-7 with the Middle East present and future situations.

I would simply identify them as ironic parallels. God made a covenant with Abraham through the promised Seed Isaac, from whose loins came Jacob (Israel) and David. Abraham’s offspring through the 12 sons of Ishmael and

the six sons of Keturah have produced the bulk of those who are of the Islamic faith today.

And they are the thorns in Israel’s side until the promised Seed from David returns at his Second Advent to occupy the old throne of David.

II SAMUEL 23:5 – Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.

This kingdom of David will not grow to expand to the dimensions of the Covenant God made with Abraham in Genesis 15:18 until Christ’s Second Advent.

Genesis 15:18 – In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

Luke 1:31-33 – And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.

[32] He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: [33] And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

II SAMUEL 23:6 – But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:

“Belial” cames from a Hebrew word formed from the combination of two other Hebrew words, pronounced Bel-ee (meaning “failure”), and Yaw-al was a term of scorn, meaning “to waste one’s worth.” The term is used in the Old Testament to describe people who were lawless and rebellious. In the New Testament it is used to refer

to Satan.

I cannot think of a better term to describe the Islamic Jihad, Hamas, Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades, and Fatah. They are like prickly thorn balls, with which the only solution to evade injury is to avoid contact with them.

To make contact by touching them is to insure injury.

It is ironic that this is what Israel has realized it must do to avoid injury to their people, and is building a security fence to accomplish it.

II SAMUEL 23:7 – But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.

A second irony occurs in this verse to accompany the one in verse six.

In order to not be affected by the touch of the thorns of the sons of Belial, the descendants of Jacob and David must be fenced (fitted) around their bodies with iron armor. The Palestinians must be fenced in by a security barrier with protective weapons at the 27 check points to keep

them from pricking Israel.

It is also somewhat ironic that the Palestinians, along with the other nations of the world, when they come against Israel in the Negev at the final battle of Armageddon,

are prophesied to “be utterly burned with fire in the same place.”

Revelation 16:16 – And he gat

hered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

Revelation 19:19-21 – And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. [20] And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Among the “kings of the earth” in Revelation 19:19 will be the 10 Muslim king’s toes of Daniel’s statue in Daniel 2:44.

Daniel 2:44 – And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

What Parties and Policies Will Make Up the Next Israeli

Government?

If the current polls continue to hold true, Kadima (Forward Party) will head the next government, and continue the policies of Ariel Sharon. Kadima would be forced to take other parties into their government in order to have the necessary votes to secure a majority of 61 in the 120 member Knesset.

This poll and all the other polls taken since Ariel Sharon’s stroke, make it plain that the majority of Israelis want the unilateral withdrawal plan he instituted to go forward.

If the current poll happens to be correct, it would mean that Kadima would be forced to take at least two other parties into their government.

New Poll gives Kadima 42 mandates, Likud 17

A new poll conducted by the Geocartographic Institute showed Kadima maintaining a large lead.

Kadima received 42 mandates, the Likud received 17, and Labor 15.

The National Union-NRP joint party received 10 mandates, as did Israel Beiteinu.

Shas received eight mandates, and Meretz five.

I have been reading all the comments made by Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert since Ariel Sharon’s severe stroke, which has stopped his political career as head of the Kadima (Forward). Since it does appear likely that the Kadima party will receive the most seats in the March 28 election, I have taken his comments, merged them together, analyzed them, and drawn together what he says he will do if elected.

We will separate from the majority of the Palestinian population living in the West Bank.

Israel must separate itself within an agreement that would draw

its permanent borders.

We must remodel the borders of the State of Israel

and this is what I will do after the elections.

To separate ourselves from the majority of Palestinians in the West Bank, we will be forced to evacuate territories currently held by the State of Israel.

We will hold on to the major Jewish Settlements in the West Bank.

We will keep Jerusalem united.

Our control over Israel’s eastern border Jewish Settlements cannot be renounced.

Ma’aleh Adumim, Gush Etzion and Ariel will remain part of the State of Israel.

Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz has said that Israel would establish its final borders, with or without a negotiated deal, within two years.

I believe that Prime Min ister Olmert

is acutely aware that he cannot negotiate with Hamas.

He will continue Sharon’s plan of unilateral withdrawal and he will establish the borders of Israel with the fence.

He seems to think this can be done within two years.

It is then, and only then, after Israel has something other than God to trust in, namely the fence and its military might, that a mindset of what the Scripture defines as “peace and safety,” will be developed among the general populace of Israelis.

I Thessalonians 5:3,4 – For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. [4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
