How Would Islam React if the Walls Fell Under the Al-Aqsa Mosque

I received the article which follows from a Lebanese friend of mine. It came from Netscape News (AFP) with CNN. As I have indicated in two previous Archive BLOGS this month, the Temple Mount is the holiest site of Judaism, the third holiest site of Islam, and the place where the Head of the first New Testament Church worshipped. This being the case, any occurrence there has international consequences, and causes it to be an accident looking for a place to happen. The most dangerous zone on the Temple Mount is beneath the Al Aqsa Mosque on the south end of the temple mount.

Any destruction of a mass character to this site would be grounds for a Holy Jihad, if the Islamic extremists could give even a shred of proof that Israel was directly or indirectly a part of the reason it happened.

This silver topped mosque at the southern end of the Temple Mount, the third holiest site of Islam, is Al Aqsa.

It straddles a vast underground chamber area enclosed within the weakened bulging walls referred to in the aforementioned article, which follows. When King Herod rebuilt the Temple Mount Complex, he built a level platform over the original irregular temple mount strata, which dropped off rapidly to the south into the old city of David.

This created a large cavern complex under where the Al Aqsa Mosque now stands. The first structure placed where the Al Aqsa Mosque stands today was the Royal Portico of King Herod, which stretched east to west across the southern end of the rectangular Temple Mount. This structure was leveled by the Romans under Titus in 70 AD, and the stones from it pushed off the platform into the valley to the south. Muslims then conquered the Temple Mount and built the Al Aqsa Mosque on its southern end.

Islam, in turn, was driven out by the crusaders, who stabled their horses under the Al Aksa Mosque and, eventually, the cavern under it got the name of Solomon’ s Stable

s. Up until the late seventies it was possible for tourists to go down into this underground cavern by an entrance on the Temple Mount Platform just to the east of the Mosque, but it was sealed up in the early eighties. In the nineties, the Muslim Wakf began to build an underground extension of the Mosque under and to the east of it, and work continued on it into this century. It was doing this time period that their underground building activities produced a weakening of Herod’s foundation in this area, and a bulge developed, which was immediately spotted by the Israelis, and a verbal barrage of charges and countercharges has been raging between the two parties ever since.

All of this was going on during my many trips to Israel, but I was never able to get into Solomon’s Stables again after the middle eighties.

The Arabs at first denied there was a bulge or any structural damage to Herod’s foundation but, as the bulge grew, they had to cease from that stance, and begin to say they had reinforced it internally, and there was no danger to the Al Aqsa Mosque. In any case, if and when the bulge happens to collapse, the worse case scenario would be that the eastern portion of the Mosque would fall into the cavern, and the newly created underground extension would be destroyed. If all this were to h

appen at just the right time on the prophetic front, then a worldwide cry for a Holy Jihad would be issued and carried out by Islam.

If such a collapse has not occurred by the time Revelation 6:12 occurs in the Jordan Valley, it will occur at that time.

Revelaion 6:12 – And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

And what remains of the existing structures on the Temple Mount will all fall when Revelation 11:13 is fulfilled.

Revelation 11:13 – And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted,

and gave glory to the God of heaven.

Revelation 12:17 – And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

It is very interesting that Revelation 11:13 says a tenth part of the old city of Jerusalem will fall, and the second paragraph in the article which follows, indicates that one-tenth of the old city walls “are in immediate danger of collapse,” according to an engineering survey by the Israel Antiquities Authority.

Walls of Jerusalem’s Old City in Danger of Collapse

JERUSALEM (AFP) – Large sections of the 16th century walls surrounding Jerusalem’s Old City are in danger of collapse unless they undergo immediate restoration.

According to an engineering survey conducted by the Israeli Antiquities Authority, 380 metres (yards), or one-tenth, of the walls’ extension are in immediate danger of collapse, Israeli newspaper Maariv reported on Friday.

The survey showed 11 sections of the stone wall needing attention, most of them located along the northern stretch, which flanks the Muslim quarter, and the southern stretch, which skirts the Jewish quarter.

The area in most need of work is the section which flanks the southern supporting wall of the Al-Aqsa mosque compound, the third holiest site in Islam.

The site also houses the ruins of the ancient Jewish temple, the most sacred spot in Judaism, which was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD.

Israeli authorities have repeatedly called attention to a bulge in the southern supporting wall of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, provoking tensions between the Jewish and Muslim communities.

“The examination shows that the signs of cracking and crumbling, which are evidence of structural problems, have increased and become more widespread,” the report said.

“New cracks were also revealed in the southern wall (of the mosque compound), which shows evidence of movement in the entire wall.”

Another 29 sections of the wall, extending a total of 1,280 metres, are also in danger of collapse, but the threat is not quite so imminent, the report said.

The Old City is divided culturally and historically into four parts — the Jewish, Armenian, Christian and Muslim quarters.

Built by Suleiman the Magnificent between 1536-1541, the Old City walls stretch a total length of 3.8 kilometres (2.3 miles).

Seven gates in the wall lead into the Old City — Jaffa, Damascus, Herod’s, Zion, Dung, Lion’s and New gates.

An eighth, the Golden Gate, is sealed off.

Many a Slip Twixt the Cup and the Lip!

I am fully aware that liquids often spill in that short passage from cup to the human lip, and I assure there will be many slips in the coming months toward what I believe will be the beginning of the false peace found in I Thessalonians 5:3,4, but at least the cup is finally heading toward

the Palestinian and Israeli lips that will drink it.

A previous BLOG, “Looking Good for False Peace,” has now received an additional reinforcement from the article which follows by Orley Halpern in the Jerusalem Post. We are finally hopping down the bunny trail toward what will eventually give Israel a feeling of “peace and security.”

Shalom, Abbas Hold ‘Very Good’ Meetings

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom met Wednesday with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in a formal meeting in the Tunisian capital marking a renewal of high-level talks between the two sides after long months of cancelled summits and postponed appointments.

Both Shalom and Abbas later addressed the UN assembly each speaking about their grievances towards the peace process and the need to fight terror on the internet.

The meeting between the leaders took place at the UN World Summit on the Information Society where thousands of participants from all over the world met to discuss how to close the gap in information technology access between the developed and the developing world.

Shalom and Abbas met twice Wednesday, once by chance and once as planned. After the first meeting, Shalom told The Jerusalem Post that the meetings were “very good.”

Israeli officials said that not only was the meeting significant in and of itself, but so was the setting in a meeting hall with an

Israeli flag outside the door on Arab soil in a country which once hosted the PLO and does not have diplomatic relations with Israel.

The two leaders discussed the rehabilitation of the Gaza Strip, and talked about Hamas and Hizbullah.

“I told him that the model of Gaza must succeed and that it will bring calm and I hope it will help the Palestinians,” Shalom told the Post. His words came one day after Israel signed an agreement with the Palestinians over the Rafah border crossing.

“I hope it will help the Palestinians.”

Shalom quoted Abbas as saying that he was “happy that after five years we finally have signed an agreement on something, that we need to go forward with the peace process and that we cannot stop it every time there is an attack.”

However, the foreign minister said he told Abbas that “we cannot have a situation where in the morning there are peace talks and in the afternoon there is a terror attack.”

Shalom warned Abbas “that Hamas was trying to destabilize” his administration.

According to Shalom, Abbas

told him that improving relations with the Palestinians would improve the relations between Israel and the Arab and Muslim world.

The foreign minister has made it his goal since taking office three years ago to promote relations with Arab and Muslim countries.

The meeting was “very positive,” said Shalom. “At the end he sent his regards to [Prime Minister Ariel] Sharon.”

Iran Ships 10,000 Rockets to Hezbullah

Iran has supplied Hezbullah with more than 10,000 short-range rockets and most of the weapons are deployed in southern Lebanon within reach of Israel, an Israeli diplomat said Thursday.

The rockets, some of which were provided by Syria, have a range

of up to 110 kilometers, said Jeremy Issacharoff, the new deputy Israeli ambassador to Washington, at a conference on Iran sponsored The Israel Project, a nongovernment advocacy group.

“In Israeli terms, that range can be a heavyweight,” Issacharoff said.

Iran is the lead ing supporter of terror groups

in t he world,

he said.
Besides backing Hezbullah, a Lebanese group that has fought a cross-border conflict with Israel, Iran is supporting Palestinian terror groups, the Israeli diplomat said.

And he said Israel takes seriously a recent call by Iranian Prime Minister Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that Israel be “wiped off the map.”

Hizballah bands are reported by intelligence to be heading for raids against Israeli military border positions and villages.

There is also a threat that Hizballah plans to abduct Israeli soldiers and civilians and take them

to Lebanon as hostages. DEBKAfile’s sources report Syria is leaning hard on Hizballah to force the Lebanese group to generate a crisis

on the Israeli border that will ease the international pressure on Damascus. The Syrians want the Lebanese Shiite terrorists to additionally call the Shiite masses out to the streets of Beirut in order to disrupt the UN investigation of the Hariri murder which is closing in on Syrian officials.

They also demand that the Hizballah cabinet minister quit and so bring down the anti-Damascus Fouad Siniora government.

A similar high alert was declared on the Israeli border two weeks ago Nov.

The Temple Mount – A Staging Place for International Jihad!

Somehow, I don’t think many Americans have ever grasped that almost one-fourth of the world’s population is Muslim, and that fundamental Islam considers the rest of the world to be infidels and headed to hell, unless we repent and put our faith in Allah.

Quite frankly, what they believe is their business, but fanaticism to the extent of sending us to hell early by 911, suicide bombings, and ritual beheadings, is not acceptable. The Temple Mount Israeli-Arab arrangement, which I covered in detail in Archive Prophecy Update 249B, is a political accident looking for a place to explode.

Islamic Radicals Plan World Revolution from Temple Mount

Islamic radicals have been using the Temple Mount as a focal point for planning and preaching the establishment of a world Islamic state with Jerusalem as its capital.

One of the radical groups operating on the Temple Mount is Hizab Altahrir (The Islamic Liberation Party), which espouses an ideology similar to Al Qaeda. Hizab Altahrir’s network spans most Western European countries. The party puts Islamic revolution and an uncompromising form of Jihad (holly war) at the top of its political agenda.

The group advocates subjecting the entire world to Islamic law (Shariya), and destroying non-believing nations

and religions.

The party has targeted Europe, specifically Denmark, for spreading its ideology, and providing a springboard for renewing Islamic conquests in Europe. A senior party activist in Jerusalem, Sheikh Issam Amira, expressed this philosophy in a recent speech which he made on the Temple Mount:

“Listeners! The Moslems in Denmark make up three percent [of the population], yet constitute a threat to the future of the Danish kingdom. It’s no surprise that in Bitrab (the ancient name of Medina, a city in Arabia to which Mohammed immigrated) they were fewer than three percent of the general population, but succeeded changing the regime in Bitrab.

“It’s no surprise that our brothers in Denmark have succeeded in bringing Islam to every home in that country.

Allah will grant us victory in their land to establish the [Islamic] revolution in Denmark.”

After Denmark, the Sheikh said, the party will carry the revolution to Oslo and change its name to Medina.

“They will fight against their Scandinavian neighbors in order to bring the country into the territory of the revolution,” he said. “In the next stage, they will fight a holy jihad to spread Islam to the rest of Europe, until it spreads to the original city of Medina where the two cities will unite under the Islamic flag.”

Sheikh Riyad Salah, head of the Islamic movement in Israel has also been active teaching the tenets of “Islamic revolution.”

“We are at the gates of the Islamic revolution,” he proclaims in his sermons to Arab citizens of Israel. “The global forces of evil will be eliminated from the world and the Islamic nation will remain in place in order to bring about the world Islamic revolution, with its capital, Jerusalem.”

Salah, who until a few months ago was under arrest for allegedly assisting an organization connected to the Hamas terror group, has for a number of years been attempting to organize Israel’s Arab citizens into an “independent Palestinian society,” disconnected from the State of Israel and its institutions.

Salah’s organization contributed to efforts

to repair Arab mosques on the Temple Mount, and also attempts to erase

the remains of Jewish antiquities on the Mount.

In Israel, the Hizab Altahrir party is sending out charismatic Islamic preachers to spread its ideology to mosques in villages near Jerusalem, Hevron, Kalkilya, and Tulkarem.

Then large numbers of Moslems visited mosques last October during the holy month of Ramadan, the party expanded its efforts to recruit new members and activists in the Palestinian Authority (PA).

Thousands of young Arabs living in the PA have been participating in the party’s youth movement under the slogan, “Campaigning to Preach Revolution.”

On the Temple Mount near the Dome of the Rock, Altahrir’s youth recently put up a giant banner declaring “Revolution is a Divine Command.” The party’s flag appears on the right and left hand side of the banner (See top photo). The youth were greeted by party members who shouted, “Next year in Jerusalem, under the rule of the Islamic revolution.”

LOOKING GOOD FOR FALSE PEACE!

The statements given by the Palestinian’s chief negotiator Saeb Erekat gives rise to my belief a false peace will finally come to Israel.

aught for more than 30 years that a false peace would come to Israel before 2008. The events of the last few weeks cause me to believe that will

be the case.

The following article by Hilary Leila Krieger is most encouraging, and a good indicator we are on the verge of the biblical false peace of I Thessalonians 5:3,4. The security barrier/wall/fence will be completed in 2007 to secure Israel’s borders with the Palestinians, and the false peace will be in place. The breaking of that false peace by a Jihad attack of 10 Arab nations could occur as early as 2007 or as late as 2012.

Erekat in Netanya: ‘Full Peace Is Just Months Away’

A comprehensive peace agreement is just months away, chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat declared Tuesday.
On the heels of the historic deal in Rafah that would see Palestinians controlling an international border for the first time, he maintained, “We do not need more than six months to see a historic treaty with Israel.”

Noting that he was speaking on behalf of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, he stressed, “We made our historic compromise.

We recognize your right to exist as a state with secure and recognized borders.”

When it came to Israel’s part in the process, he had many words of advice, most of which could be boiled down to one phrase: “Wake up!”

“Unilateralism will not bring peace. Unilateralism will not bring an end of conflict.

Unilateralism will not bring an end of claims.

Wake up!” he said.

On prohibiting Palestinian traffic from certain West Bank roads, he said forcefully, “Wake up! Of all people on earth, Israel should not do that for reasons of security.” In his directive on the Palestinian elections coming in January, he added, “Don’t poke your noses into our internal affairs. Let the natural growth of Palestinian democracy take its natural course.”

On the question of democracy he was uncompromising. “Today we want democracy, and anybody who says the Arabs aren’t ready for democracy is a racist,” Erekat said at the conference, held at the Netanya Academic College to mark the 10th Anniversary of Yitzhak Rabin’s death.

He said that the stagnation of the peace process could not be blamed on the assassination of Rabin alone. “It was the choices we made afterwards.”

To much applause, he urged the sides to “stop pointing fingers at each other.

We made mistakes.

You made mistakes. Let’s learn from these mistakes because it’s the only way to save Israeli and Palestinian lives.”

Abdel Salam Majali, the former prime minister of Jordan and another speaker at the conference, also had some suggestions for Israel.

He said it was so important to foster further steps like Tuesday’s agreement on Rafah that, “Even if there are incidents, small incidents here and there, they should wave it away.

and who can give something. The weak cannot afford it.

He hasn’t got anything.” He told The Jerusalem Post, “Maybe tomorrow some incident will happen. It should not, but it should never be an excuse to go back on what happened.” Vice Prime Minister Shimon Peres was welcomed to the stage with a standing ovation.

In his assessment, he said, “a condition for peace in the Middle East must be a Quartet agreement.”

The economic reformer also called for a “privatization of peace,” saying that private organizations and businesses could work towards peace, free of many of the constraints that governments have. They have an interest, he said, as they had a global market.
