It will take an act of God to prepare the 10 horns to unite behind him before this Caliph becomes the “another” Beast, who comes AFTER the 10 as the Beast that unites them to attack Israel.

I believe the 10 Horns will be French Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Iraq, and Iran.

I have never been confident of the identity of the three kings the beast will initially subdue, but my pick at this time would be Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia.

I have taught the Antichrist and his followers would be of the Islamic faith since I began to write my first published book in 1974.

Daniel 7:23-25 – Thus he said, the fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. [24] And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. [25] And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. When a best selling book was written in the fifties about six emerging European Common Market nations, it began to cause many theologians to rapidly change their minds as to where the antichrist would eventually arise. Prior to that time most had believed he would arise out of the old Seleucid dynasty, which was formed by one of the generals who divided Alexander’s Grecian Empire into four sections. Many believed the Assyrian, in the fifth chapter of Micah, would be the antichrist, and that he would arise in, and come out of, modern day Syria.

Before the European Common Market theory arose, a majority believed antichrist would come out of the southern half of the old Roman Empire, rather than out of the European northern half. But the great popularity of the aforementioned book ascended to the highest levels of acceptability, and previous beliefs were dwarfed to obscurity. The book indicated that the six original members of the Common Market would soon be joined by four other nations to reach ten, and then be joined by the eleventh horn. He would be the antichrist of Daniel’s fourth beast in chapter seven. However, soon there were ten horns, then there were eleven, then more, then fifteen, and soon more will come to be added. But the astounding popularity of this book, and the thousands of preachers and other teachers who have taught it, have left a legacy, such that is difficult to convince the current generation they might not be correct in what they have taught, and are still teaching.

I have been concerned, since the book was first published, about the possibility it might cause many to be deceived when he does not arise in Europe, but in Syria. Quite frankly, I watch both Europe and Syria just like a hawk, and, if I do see him rising in Europe, I most assuredly will accept it. I am prepared for both. But many are so convinced he must come out of Europe, I doubt if anything would change their minds. In any case, in future updates I will show my reasons for believing he will come out of the Syria area.

I do not question that Europe will come down as part of the mass of many nations that join antichrist in Jerusalem for the final battle of Armageddon, but I am confident that the initial attack of the tribulation period will be by the antichrist leading Islamic nations against Israel.

Yellowstone supervolcano ‘turned the asphalt into soup’ shutting down Natl. Park’s roads

Extreme heat from a massive supervolcano underneath Yellowstone National Park is melting a major roadway at the popular summertime tourist attraction. Park officials have closed the area to visitors.
Firehole Lake Drive, a 3-mile-plus offshoot of the park’s Grand Loop that connects the Old Faithful geyser and the Madison Junction, is currently off limits. Park operators say the danger of stepping on seemingly solid soil into severely hot water is “high.”
“It basically turned the asphalt into soup. It turned the gravel road into oatmeal,” Yellowstone spokesman Dan Hottle said.
The affected roadway offers access to the Great Fountain Geyser, White Dome Geyser, and Firehole Lake.
“There are plenty of other great places to see thermal features in the park,” park public affairs chief Al Nash told The Weather Channel. “I wouldn’t risk personal injury to see these during this temporary closure.”
While thermal activity under the park often gives way to temperature fluctuations that can soften asphalt throughout Yellowstone, Hottle said the latest wave seems worse than usual.
“But it’s hard to tell if a thermal area is hotter than normal, because it’s always fluctuating here,” he said, according to the Los Angeles Times. “Road closures are business as usual for us.”
Maintenance workers now must lift the melted asphalt from the roadway, then apply sand and lime to soak up any remains, according to Hottle.
The spokesman said he hopes the road will be reopened by next week, adding that he does not believe the activity will significantly curb visits to the park.
Yellowstone’s supervolcano last erupted about 640,000 years ago, according to US Geological Survey records.
Last December, geologists reported that the magma reservoir under the supervolcano is two-and-a-half times larger than previous estimates.
“That’s not to say it’s getting any bigger,” said analysis team scientist James Farrell of the University of Utah. “It’s just that our ability to see it is getting better.”
The supervolcano has the potential to spew more than 240 cubic miles (1,000 cubic kilometers) of magma across Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming.
“We believe it will erupt again someday, but we have no idea when,” Farrell told National Geographic.
In March, a viral video of bison stampeding through the park gave rise to rumors of an imminent eruption.
In early April, scientists and park officials debunked the fears, saying the bison run was a natural migratory occurrence, not a sign of impending volcanic activity. That very same week, a 4.8 magnitude earthquake shook the northwest section of the park, marking the largest seismic activity at Yellowstone since 1980.
The earthquake occurred near “an area or ground uplift tied to the upward movement of molten rock in the super-volcano, whose mouth, or caldera, is 50 miles long and 30 miles wide,” Reuters reported at the time.

Yellowstone – A Slumbering Tribulation Nightmare
The following article from Independent Home E-mail describes the potential horror that can be unleashed from one of the many slumbering giants on this planet. I have contended for thirty years that these giants will all be awakened during the last three and one-half years of the tribulation period. They will explode in a beehive of activity along all the tectonic plate boundaries that is initiated with the first earthquake in Revelation and is scheduled to continue until the book’s last earthquake.

It’s the subject of a terrifying new TV drama. But could the supervolcano nightmare come true?

Deep below Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming lies a slumbering giant that could bring the world to an end when it finally awakes. Fact or fiction? Science Editor Steve Connor reports:

When the supervolcano that lies beneath Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming finally awakes from its ancient slumber, it will spew out enough ash and magma to change the world as we know it. This is the prediction of scientists who have calculated that the global risk posed by a supervolcanic eruption somewhere in the world is between five and ten times greater than the probability of being struck by a giant asteroid.
But it is the huge lake of molten magma lying dormant under the lush landscape of Yellowstone that is causing the greatest concern to vulcanologists studying the special threat posed by supervolcanoes.
Earth scientists commissioned by the Geological Society of London have calculated that there may be several super-eruptions big enough to cause a global disaster from time to time – whereas an asteroid larger than 1km (0.62 miles) in diameter can also be expected to hit the Earth from time to time.
Supervolcanoes may not look like much – most do not even have the traditional cone of a Vesuvius or a Mount St Helens – but their potential for destruction is many times greater than a traditional volcanic eruption.
A super-eruption at Yellowstone would be far more devastating for the world than the eruptions at Tambora in 1815, Krakatoa in 1883 and Pinatubo in 1991 which all caused global climate disturbances for several years after the event. Super-eruptions are hundreds of times larger than the biggest volcanic explosions of recorded history and their effects on the global climate are much more severe, said Professor Stephen Self, a vulcanologist at the Open University.
“An area the size of North America can be devastated and pronounced deterioration of global climate would be expected for a few years following the eruption,” Professor Self explained. “They could result in the devastation of world agriculture, severe disruption of food supplies and mass starvation. These effects could be sufficiently severe to threaten the fabric of civilisation.”
A two-part drama-documentary – Supervolcano – to be transmitted this Sunday and Monday on BBC1 spells out what could happen if the supervolcano under Yellowstone National Park should erupt in the near future. The programme makers worked closely with volcano specialists, including scientists at the US Geological Survey, who are closely monitoring Yellowstone, to depict the most realistic scenario leading up to and in the immediate aftermath of a massive eruption.
It shows what would happen if some 2,000 million tons of sulphuric acid were ejected into the atmosphere to block out sunlight over much of the planet causing global temperatures to plummet by between 10C and 20C.
It also describes the chaos and panic caused by the dumping of billions of tons of volcanic ash over huge swaths of North America. Scientists calculate that it would be equivalent to covering an area the size of Britain in four metres of ash.
Ailsa Orr, the series producer, said the film-makers consulted the US Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema), which handled the aftermath of the 11 September terror attack on New York and Washington, and found there was little planning for such a natural disaster.
“Fema had no contingency plans for a disaster on this scale. The largest disaster they ever had to deal with was 9/11 and that stretched their resources to the limit,” Ms Orr said.
“Our scenario would affect an area 10 million times greater than 9/11 did. Fema were extremely interested in working with us to come up with a theoretical plan as to how they might deal with it. They gave us data on how many people would be affected by the eruption in the US.”
Satellite images show that the mouth or caldera of the Yellowstone supervolcano is 85km (53 miles) long and 45km (28 miles) wide – which amounts to an area big enough to swallow Tokyo, the largest city in the world.
Five miles underneath the surface of Yellowstone sits the volcanic chamber itself which is estimated to hold 25,000 cubic kilometres of molten rock or magma. Seismologists and vulcanologists working for the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory routinely monitor the regular swellings and subsidences of the land as it responds to shifting underground lake of molten rock below.
Ms Orr said that the makers of the drama-documentary liaised closely with the scientists at the observatory as well as other specialists and consultants. “We started by examining data from the first super-eruption of Yellowstone which happened in ancient times. We also looked at the evidence of the last supervolcanic eruption on the planet which happened at Toba in Indonesia in ancient times,” she added.
Some scientists believe that the Toba eruption, which caused global climatic disturbances, may have even caused a genetic “bottleneck” in human genetic diversity following a dramatic decline in the global population. If the Yellowstone supervolcano were to erupt in a similar fashion the ash that it would spew out would cover three-quarters of North America in a layer deep enough to kill crops and other plants.
Few people would survive in the zone immediately around the eruption as the volcanic gases and choking sulphur dioxide would burn the lungs of anyone caught in the open air. Those sheltering in their homes would not be safe because layers of heavy volcanic ash would eventually cause their roofs to collapse.
The supervolcanic eruption of the Toba volcano in Sumatra ejected about 300 times more volcanic ash than the eruption of Tambora in Indonesia in 1815 – which caused a “year without a summer” in 1816 and prompted Lord Byron to write his poem “Darkness”.
A report on supervolcanoes compiled by the Geological Society states: “It is easy to imagine that an eruption on the scale of Toba would have devastating global effects. A layer of ash estimated at 15 cm thick fell over the entire Indian subcontinent with similar amounts over much of south-east Asia. Most recently, the Toba ash has been found in the South China Sea, implying that several centimetres also covered southern China.
“Just one centimetre of ash is enough to devastate agricultural activity … Many millions of lives throughout most of Asia would be threatened if Toba erupted today,” it says.
Ms Orr said the University of Utah and the UK Met Office had helped to compile a map of the fallout that might result from the eruption of ash from the Yellowstone supervolcano.
“From this, we created an ash projection map which took into account wind direction and time of year of our eruption. Every time we refined our storyline we would send it back to them for approval so they were closely involved,” she said.
But it is the emission of sulphuric acid into the atmosphere that would create the greatest long-term problems for countries further afield, as the biggest volcanic eruptions of the past 200 years have shown, warns Professor Steve Sparks of Bristol University, a consultant to the programme. “They caused major climatic anomalies in the two or three years after the eruption by creating a cloud of sulphuric acid droplets in the upper atmosphere. These droplets reflect and absorb sunlight, and absorb heat from the Earth – warming the upper atmosphere and cooling the lower atmosphere,” Professor Sparks said.
“The global climate system is disturbed, resulting in pronounced, anomalous warming and cooling of different parts of the Earth at different times.”
If enough sulphuric acid were released – and Yellowstone could emit 2,000 million tons – then what could take place would be the equivalent of a “nuclear winter”, when the dust and debris from the fallout of a nuclear war block out sunlight for several years causing worldwide famines.
The Max Planck Institute in Hamburg helped the makers of Supervolcano to model the spread of sulphuric acid around the world.
“We’re talking about catastrophic amounts of sulphuric acid circling the world within just a few weeks. It forms a veil that blocks out sunlight, causing temperatures to plummet,” Ms Orr said.
“The Met Office models predicted a drop of about 15C across Europe and 20C in the southern hemisphere, the monsoon would stop, crops would fail and somewhere in the region of one billion people would die through climate change and starvation,” she added.
Supervolcano depicts the Yellowstone caldera erupting over several days, progressively “unzipping” the build-up of underground pressure in a series of eruptions around the rim of the crater rather than releasing everything all at once in one giant eruption.
Ms Orr said: “The first thing we had to get right was to understand the dynamics of a super-volcanic eruption – how it would unfold, what it would look like. It’s very difficult to know for sure because nobody has ever seen a super-eruption happen but we consulted with a lot of scientists and the consensus of opinion was that a super-eruption is not just one big massive eruption but a series of separate eruptions around the rim of the caldera.
“Only towards the end of the eruption process do they all converge into one. Once this scenario had been signed off by the scientists, we got a storyboard artist to visualise it so everyone was clear on what we had to create in the film.”
Nobody knows whether a supervolcanic eruption at Yellowstone is imminent. The programme-makers say at the start of their film that they have not made fiction, and they have made a true story – it’s just that it hasn’t happened yet.
The Yellowstone supervolcano is known to have erupted three times in its long ancient history.
Yet vulcanologists such as Professor Sparks point out that this does not mean that another eruption is overdue. “It doesn’t work like that. We just don’t know when the next eruption will occur,” he said.
Neither do scientists know how much warning the world will be given. “Frankly we don’t really know, that’s the real problem,” Professor Sparks said.
But what we do know is that we are ill-prepared for such an event if it should take place in the near future. “You can’t stop it. One could have to start to think about the strategies for dealing with consequences and to be frank, that’s not been thought through at all,” Professor Sparks said.
One thing remains certain in this uncertain world of low-risk, high-impact disasters. If the Yellowstone supervolcano should ever blow, our world will never be the same again, and might not even survive in its present form.

Pakistani Jihadi Groups Swear Oath Of Fealty To Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, The Rise Of Tahreek-e-Khilafat Wa Jihad (TKJ)

A series of recent reports have emerged in the media which show that Pakistani militants are swearing bai’yah (oath of fealty) to Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, who declared himself as the emir of the Islamic State, supposedly leading all Muslims across the world. The Islamic State (IS) is the new name for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), a jihadi organization which broke away from Al-Qaeda and captured several cities in Iraq in June, 2014.

It should be noted that Pakistani militants – an estimate 200 of which are already working as part of IS in Iraq and Syria – swore an oath of fealty to Al-Baghdadi in at least two videos released several days before Al-Baghdadi declared himself as the emir of the Islamic State in an audio statement released on June 29, 2014. Additionally, a new jihadi group based in Pakistan has become prominent for declaring its allegiance to Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi: Tehreek-e-Khilafat Wa Jihad (TJK or the Movement for Caliphate and Jihad).

The June 29 declaration by Al-Baghdadi, which demanded oaths of fealty from Muslims, also marks a rift in the global jihadi movement. Until now, most of the jihadi groups from Chechnya to the Middle East and Africa, including Al-Qaeda and its slain leader Osama bin Laden, had expressed their loyalty to Mullah Mohammad Omar, calling him the Emir-ul-Momineen or the Leader of the Faithful Muslims, a title now assumed by Al-Baghdadi.

WE KNOW THAT NONE OF THE FOLLOWING EMPIRES OF THE OLD TESTAMENT EVER DOMINATED WHAT WE IDENTIFY AS THE WORLD OF TODAY.

Daniel 8:5,21,22 –And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west ON THE FACE OF THE WHOLE EARTH, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes. [21] And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. [22] Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.

Daniel 2:32-34,38,39 – [This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, [33] His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. [34] Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. [38] And WHERESOEVER THE CHILDREN OF MEN DWELL, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler OVER THEM ALL. Thou art this head of gold. [39] And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule OVER ALL THE EARTH.

Daniel 7:3,23-27,11-14 – And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. [23] Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour THE WHOLE EARTH, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. [24] And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. [25] And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. (Please note that his millennial empire of Christ will take in everything “UNDER THE WHOLE HEAVEN.” This expression would include the earth as we know it today.)I BELIEVE THE SCRIPTURES WHICH FOLLOW CONTAIN HYPERBOLE THAT MEAN THE KNOWN WORLD OF JOHN’S DAY, NOT ALL THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT TODAY.

Revelation 13:1,2,5-12,16,17 – [1] And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. Daniel 2:39-44 – [And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule OVER ALL THE EARTH. [40] And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. [41] And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be DIVIDED; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. (1) The Antichrist will only dominate the known world of John’s day.

(2) His empire will be weak because of a composition of nations that don’t hold together well.

(3) When an expression is used referring to the size of his empire in the book of Revelation it is used as a hyperbole, and does not refer to all the world as we know it today.

(4) I do not believe the mark of the beast will be put on residents of the western world.

(5) I do believe it will be put on in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Russia, and parts of Asia.The antichrist will certainly have influence in the nations of the western world, but he will not dominate them.I am certainly prepared to be wrong in my belief in the size of his empire and in the degree of his domination. In other words, I know the popular teachings of many men and women on this subject, and I am prepared for their antichrist, but are they prepared for mine?

Most of the believing world is prepared for an antichrist that arises in Europe and dominates the entire world as we know it today. The area of the size of his empire, as it is taught today, arose in the early 19th century, and was then solidified by most writers in the 20th century.

The woman of Revelation 12:1, pictured as being clothed with the sun, standing on the moon, with a crown of 12 stars, is clearly identified by Joseph’s dream in Genesis 37:9-11. Joseph dreams of the sun as representing his father Jacob, who God renamed Israel, and from whose loins came the Nation of Israel. He pictures the moon as being the women who gave birth to the 12 sons of Israel. And the 12 stars are those 12 sons who propagated the Nation of Israel. The woman is definitely the Nation of Israel because this set of symbols appears only in Genesis 37 and Revelation 12, and one interprets the other. This woman, who represents Israel, is pictured as fleeing into “the wilderness” in Revelation 12:6, and I have proven in numerous previous updates, that “the wilderness” is the vast Negev Wilderness of southern Israel. This is part of the same area where Israel previously wandered for 40 years before being allowed to enter the Promised Land of the Exodus. She will once again be confined in the Negev Wilderness for 1260 days, after having been driven into it by an attack from Syria consisting of a confederation of Islamic nations. We are told in Daniel 11:41 that the King of the North will enter into “the glorious land” of Israel, but that the land of the descendants of Ammon, Moab, and Esau would be by-passed as he pushed Israel into the Negev. If you look on any map showing the areas inhabited by the descendants of these three men in 600 B.C., and then overlay it on a current day map, you will discover all three areas are within the borders of present day Jordan. So Jordan will not be attacked by the Islamic confederation of nations. Why? Because it is of no tactical, political, or geographical advantage to the King of the North. However, Egypt has all three of these advantages vested in the Suez Canal, her ports, and her water supply. So, after by-passing Jordan, and driving Israel into the Negev Wilderness, he will quickly veer to the west and conquer Egypt. More on this in updates to follow. At the recent Arab Summit Meeting, the first one held in a decade, Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia failed to concur with some of the boycotts against Israel, which were proposed by their Islamic counterparts. Egypt was also the first bordering Islamic nation to initiate peace with Israel. Egypt, according to Daniel 11:42,43, will pay a price for it when the Islamic hoard, led by Syria, charges across the northern Sinai to conquer her.

Israel’s message to Hamas: We control the escalation

Analysis: Decision to bomb entire areas in northern Gaza after warning residents indicates is aimed at signaling to Hamas that Israel is climbing one more step up the ladder.

On Saturday evening, after the first five days of Operation Protective Edge, armed Palestinian groups from Lebanon joined the fighting. The IDF was prepared for this option, but the goal will likely be to contain the event rather than escalate the situation.

Hezbollah was probably not involved in the rocket fire directed at Israel’s northern communities, but it’s possible that global jihad organizations – which have already done this before – participated in the rocket fire or even initiated it.

The Palestinians from the refugee camps in Lebanon fired two rockets at the Galilee Panhandle two days ago. The response was artillery fire at nowhere, the same as this time. With such a response, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah will not get involved. He is likely not interested in escalation on the border, especially while he is still entangled in the fighting in Syria.

In the meantime, in Gaza, the crushing of terror infrastructures and assets is increasing, while the first stage of the diplomatic process aimed at bringing about a ceasefire continues.

On the Palestinian side, Hamas and the Islamic Jihad are suffering and increasing the psychological warfare. Above all, the two organizations – which are waging the war as equals – are desperate to create awareness and reach an operational achievement which will allow them to negotiate a ceasefire from a position of power.

So far, such an achievement has slipped through their fingers time and again. The attempt to terrify Israel’s citizens and raise the spirits of Gaza’s residents after the meal breaking the Ramadan fast, by threatening to fire a new type of missiles at Tel Aviv, also appears pretty ridiculous right now.

The diplomatic move is not gaining momentum because both Israel and Hamas and the Jihad believe they have yet to utilize the operation to the fullest, and are still capable of dealing painful blows to the other side – and then negotiating from a position of power.

All kinds of negotiators have expressed their willingness to get involved, but the Egyptians were and remain the only factor which can still really talk to the two sides and bring about an agreement.

In fact, we are not just talking about an agreement between Israel and the Gazans, but about a square in which both the Egyptians and Mahmoud Abbas’ Palestinian Authority carry equal weight. Everyone has something to give and something to gain from a ceasefire agreement, but the Egyptians are the only ones capable of mediating.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is no longer considered a reliable factor in Israel’s eyes, and the Qataris – who consistently support Hamas – can only operate through Cairo. In the meantime, initial contact is being made while Israel and the terror organizations are sticking to their stances and won’t budge.

Israel’s intention appears to be to continue crushing Hamas from the air for at least two or three more days before the cabinet decides, if at all, to launch a ground operation and what kind of operation.

Until then, the decision to bomb entire areas in the northern Strip after warning the residents indicates a move from tweezers to a 5-kilogram hammer. The goal is not just a military one – moving from individual destruction to wholesale destruction – but is also aimed at signaling to Hamas that Israel is climbing one more step up the ladder, that “we control the escalation,” as a very senior officer has said.

As part of this control, the ground entry option has been prepared and the plans have been completed for several moves – starting from a small, quick maneuver, limited in time and length, to the occupation of the Strip for a relatively long period of time.

In any event, there is no intention of capturing the Strip and staying there for a long time, as right-wing politicians are suggesting. Right now, as far as Israel is concerned, it all depends on the achievements of the airstrikes, which have so far been successful.

Unlike Operation Cast Lead, and even more forcefully than Operation Pillar of Defense, the current operation emphasizes the active defense. The Iron Dome system has turned into a strategic factor which simply changes the military and diplomatic balance dramatically.

A second factor distinguishing Operation Protective Edge from its predecessors, again in favor of Israel, is Hamas’ harsh economic distress and political isolation. In the past, the Gazans knew they could engage in fighting and that in the end someone would broker a good “lull deal” for them and fund the restoration of the ruins. Now there isn’t even one mediator that the Gazans really trust and have faith in.

Most of the sponsors have also disappeared. It’s true that Iran will do everything in its power to rebuild the military infrastructure of the Islamic Jihad, which follows its orders, but the tunnels in Rafah are blocked by the Egyptian army.

The heads of Gaza’s terror organizations are aware of these facts, but are hoping for an Israeli mistake which will change the balance.

I began to teach this in the last century. Most prominent preachers taught this in the centuries prior to 1740, and continued to teach in ever decreasing numbers into the last century. Their number began to decline after revisionists made the 3 HE’s in Daniel 9:27 the Antichrist. Some still taught it when I was a teenager in the last century.

THE 70 WEEKS OF DANIEL’S 9:24-27 PROPHECY – Part 7

Age of the Prophecy Revisionists

Daniel 9:27 – And HE shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week HE shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations HE shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

The vast majority of biblical expositors today are certain the three “HE’s” in Daniel 9:27 represent the antichrist. I have searched diligently in many ancient writings to see how many writers commenting on this verse before1740 believed this teaching. Up to this time I have only found two, who wrote in about 180 AD. I am not saying there are no others, but this seems like a mighty small number to be so certain the teaching is correct.

The vast majority of preachers today do not realize the major revisions to prophetic teachings that were brought in during the age of the great revisionists from 1760 to 1920. I do not accept the majority of the revisions that were made during this period.

The first book ever to be put into print via press rather than arduous hand copying was the Gutenberg Bible. The print run began on 23 February 1455 in Mainz, Germany and ended approximately three years later, with an estimated 180 copies of the Bible put into print. The Gutenberg Bible was not entirely print – it was rubricated and illuminated by hand after it went through the press, but manufacture of the Bible took substantially less time than it would have in a conventional scriptorium.

It is said that Johannes Gutenberg, the Bible’s namesake, chose to print the Bible in Vulgate, or common Latin, because he felt it would be more accessible to the people. The cost of the Bible, combined with literacy rates, make this claim somewhat dubious. It is more likely that he chose to print a certain version of the Bible because he knew it would sell well, and that many middle class Germans, his target market, would be more comfortable reading Vulgate than a more sophisticated version of Latin.

The Gutenberg Bible is remarkable for a number of reasons. It is quite clearly documented as the first book in the West to be put into print using a press and movable type, although there is some debate as to whether or not the Gutenberg was the first book ever printed globally, as some Eastern historians argue that the use of block print plates in China and Japan precedes the Gutenberg Bible. Since no strong evidence exists to support the use of movable type in China before the production of the Gutenberg Bible, it is generally accepted to be the first book ever printed.

The printing press technology shattered the content monopoly. In 45 years (1455-1500), the number of books in Europe swelled from a few thousand to more than 9 million. And, as McLuhan noted, it shifted the emphasis from the oral mode of content distribution (i.e., “communication”) to the visual mode.

I have never been able to find a published book, during the 300 year period from 1455 to 1755, which presented a diagram dividing the tribulation period into two sections, each one 3 and ½ years in length, with the first resurrection occurring at the beginning of the first three and ½ year period.

I challenge anyone reading this to produce a pre-1740 published book on prophecy, based on Biblical interpretation, that shows a diagram dividing the tribulation period into two sections, each one 3 and ½ years in length, with the first resurrection occurring at the beginning of the first 3 and ½ year period.

I would also like for someone to show me a published book before 1740, based on Bible interpretation, showing a diagram dividing the tribulation period into sections, each one 1260 days in length, with the first resurrection occurring at the beginning of the second period of 1260 days.

For that matter, I would also like to see a published book before 1740, based on Biblical interpretation, teaching that the rapture would occur at the middle or the beginning of the tribulation period.

It is possible that a pre-1740 published book does exist somewhere that shows the tribulation period divided into two sections, each one 3 and ½ years in length, but I have looked long and hard for it in many ancient, musty, religious book archives in the U.S. and abroad, and I have yet to find it.

So I am not saying such a book doesn’t exist, but the very fact I have tried diligently to find one with no results, does at least seem to infer the validity of the supposed rock foundation of the present day teachings could well be based on sinking sand.

Prophetic teachers of this generation have lived with the two division diagrams so long they think they came over on the Mayflower. But basically these diagrams were a product of the first of the week rapture position, which is such an ingrained part of prophecy teaching today. The so-called “first of the week” position, as well as what is known as the “middle of the week” position, cannot be found in existence in any published book about the Bible before 1740. In fact, it is the term “week,” appropriated by the revisionists, that is largely responsible for the mass exodus from orthodox prophetic teaching, which occurred in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The bulk of all prophetic teaching of today is based, directly or indirectly, on the revisionist teaching on Daniel 9:27, which, to a large extent, was accelerated with the initial appearance of the “first of the week” position in the early 19th century. If the teaching on Daniel 9:27 by the revisionists is incorrect, then much of today’s prophetic teaching is in error. I believe this is the case, and I have been labeled as a revisionist myself because of it. I am certain that the great Bible expositor B.H. Carrol, who continued to believe the pre-1760 teachings until his death, was correct in what he taught concerning Daniel’s 70th week. For you see, before 1827, the majority of orthodox prophetic teachers were convinced that the “he” in Daniel 9:27 was Jesus Christ, not the antichrist – THEY WERE RIGHT. We are not waiting for a “week of seven years” to be fulfilled! Why not? – Because Jesus has already fulfilled most of the first 3 and ½ years. We are facing a tribulation period of the last 3 and ½ years, preceded by a much briefer period of peace than many are expecting.

I did find references to two ancient scroll writings of historical believers who did have a belief the “he’s” in Daniel’s pictured antichrist – Irenaeus and Hippolytus in about 180 AD.

Daniel 9:27 – And HE shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week HE shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations HE shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

According to the vast majority of popular Protestant prophecy teachers today, the first half of Daniel’s last “week” (the seventieth) will be 1260 days of peace following a peace treaty between Israel and the antichrist. This teaching reared its head at some point in time between 1740 and 1830 when, for the first time since 180 AD, preachers began to teach that the three “HE’s” in Daniel 9:27 represented the end time antichrist. Prior to that time the vast majority of preachers taught the three “HE’s” represented Jesus Christ, and a minority believed it had already been fulfilled by Antiochus Epiphanes, but I have yet to find anyone from 180 to 1740 AD who said it was the end time antichrist, which is what most preachers are sure the “HE’s” represent today. In 168 BC Antiochus Epiphanes occupied the city of Jerusalem, entered the Holy of Holies, desecrated the sanctuary by offering unclean animals upon the altar of burnt-offerings, polluted the whole building by sprinkling it with water in which flesh had been boiled, dedicated the Temple itself to Jupiter Olympus, erected a statue of deity to Jupiter, and plundered the temple treasures. But Messiah of verse 26 was not cut off (crucified) before 168 BC, nor did Antiochus ever confirm a covenant with Israel. The three HE’s of Daniel do not represent Antiochus or the future antichrist – they represent Jesus.

This period of 1260 days of peace is adamantly taught as fact by many today. Please look at the following Scriptures and see if they present three and one-half prophetic years of peace. In every case they represent a 1260 day period that will be fulfilled during the last 1260 days of antichrist prior to the Second Advent of Christ.

Revelation 11:2,3 – But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot FORTY AND TWO MONTHS. [3] And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy A THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND THREESCORE, clothed in sackcloth.

Revelation 12:6 – And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there A THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND THREESCORE DAYS..

Revelation 12:14 – And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for A TIME, AND TIMES, AND HALF A TIME, from the face of the serpent.

Revelation 13:5 – And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue FORTY AND TWO MONTHS..

Daniel 7:25 – And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until A TIME AND TIMES AND THE DIVIDING OF TIME.

Every time the capitalized phrases in these verses are used, they always refer to the last 1260 days, never to the first 1260 days. I contend this is because Christ fulfilled the first half of the week before he was cut-off (crucified). We will not have the advantage of three and on-half years of peace to reveal the antichrist to us.

One of the most interesting facets found in interpreting Daniel 9:27 is that it is not directly quoted by specific content in the New Testament. And, equally interesting, is the fact that any inferred reference taken from it is by indirect inference to a period of time that happens to match the one-half of one of Daniel’s weeks of 2520 days, or three and one-half years of 360 days in length. Even more interesting, in all cases it refers strictly to the last half of the 2520 day period by expressions like “42 months,” “1260 days,” and “time, times, and half a time.” I do not believe the first half of the seven year period is specifically detailed for those of us living in the last days because it has already been fulfilled by the Messiah the Prince, and only the later portion has yet to come to pass before Armageddon.

I implore you to take a look at what was taught by most orthodox prophetic teachers before 1827 about Daniel’s 70th Week

I am not concerned about the position believers hold on the rapture unless it is taught to be as firm a doctrine as salvation by grace, but the recent massive publications of books that have come out of the “Left Behind” series is staggering, and some have come to believe it is one of the great doctrines of the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. I am only anxious that the massive numbers of believers on this planet realize the very distinct possibility that they may have to go through part of the tribulation period, which I believe is in the not too distant future. Many believers have never even heard any other position than the first of the week and, if they do hear there is, the one telling them usually tells them it is most certainly incorrect. The every day believer-on-the-street has no idea of what was believed before 1740, only what began to be taught after that, principally since 1827. I am not looking for a group of people to believe what I teach about the rapture and Daniel’s 70 weeks of year, I am simply trying to advise believers to be aware what many routinely teach today as fact was not taught before 1740. I am certainly not looking for followers – for McElmurryites – I am looking for “considerers.”
