By early Thursday morning it had become clear that Hamas
had pulled off a stunning victory, shocking the prognosticators by sweeping the majority of seats in the Palestinian elections.
Israel is now living in the same country with a terrorist government directly linked to Syria and Iran.
Khaled Mashal, the senior Hamas leader, who is based in Syria, called Palestinian
leader Mahmoud and said Hamas is ready for a political partnership with the defeated Fatah Party.
The shocking Hamas victory in Israel over the Palestinian Authority has left the Israelis no choice. Now they will be dealing with a government that has repeatedly stated it won’t be satisfied until Israel is completely driven out of the land – a government th
at does not recognize Israel as a nation.
The following article from the Jerusalem Post gives the Hamas Charter. This Hamas victory is another example of how the spirit of Islamic Jihad is sweeping through the Arab world.
It will be interesting to see if the terrorist groups call off their attacks for a brief period while
they are getting their act together in forming a new government. The unrest among the individual factions within the Palestinian population will keep Hamas fully occupied for a while.
