The Road-Map Peace Plan, as the Palestinians see it, is very simple.
You Israelis do everything it says, and we will keep on promising to do what it says tomorrow. If you believe that Abbas, or any other Palestinian leader is going to disarm the terror groups, then I have a platinum Timex watch I would love to sell you. They might get them to stop carrying them publicly. But I assure you, the stream of different types of weapons will flow into Gaza like never before, and Palestinian homes will become miniature arsenals of every modern type of body held weapon on
the market today from personal side arms to shoulder held missile launchers and anti-tank rockets.
Promises of Abbas, in the Associated Press article in the Jerusalem Post, which follows, will never be kept, but once the Israelis complete the barrier around the West Bank, disengagement will be complete, and any actions by terrorist groups against
Israel at that time will be met with deadly retaliation.

Abbas to Disarm Militias after Elections
September 14, 2005
By the Associated Press, THE JERUSALEM POST
Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas will demand that armed groups disband immediately after parliament elections in January, a top aide said Wednesday, outlining what he described as a new plan to impose order in the Gaza Strip after the Israeli pullout earlier this week.
But Abbas’ main rival Hamas reiterated it will not disarm, and Palestinian officials cautioned they would not risk civil war, despite intense international pressure to confront the armed groups. An ongoing stalemate could hamper the rebuilding of impoverished Gaza and cloud prospects for the resumption of peace talks.
Abbas stayed away from an official celebration he had scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
An aide said he was concerned about gunmen in the crowd.
Only about 2,500 people took part, including some gunmen firing in the air, and most of the factions stayed away, though Abbas had hoped they would turn out in a show of unity.
Instead, Hamas scheduled another rally for Friday.
Abbas’ top aide, Rafiq Husseini, said the Palestinian leader would first deal with militants in his ruling Fatah movement and then with rival groups. “Our plan is that … by the election, the Palestinian street will be cleaned of militias and illegal weapons,” he said.
Husseini on Wednesday outlined what he said was a plan for dealing with militants, both in the ruling Fatah movement and in Hamas.
Starting next week, all gunmen affiliated with Fatah movement would be absorbed into the security forces and thus be brought under control, Husseini said.
“There are thousands of Fatah militiamen in Gaza, but luckily most of them are on the payroll of the Palestinian security apparatus, and that’s what makes it easier to handle them,” Husseini said. “We waited until the (Israeli) withdrawal, because it would be easier to disband Fatah militias after the withdrawal.”
The final phase “will include all Palestinian factions, and it ends with the parliamentary elections, as the president will ask all factions that have seats in the legislative council to disband their military wings in the areas under Palestinian control,” he said.

And they were all good little boys and said: “certainly we will disband our military wings, and do just as you asked” – And they lived happily ever after in the land of Never-Never, in the far off sweet forever.
