The period of “Peace and safety” will be a 3 & ½ prophetic year “hudna” between Islam and Israel after Islam has driven Israel into the Negev Wilderness. The “hudna” will be broken at the end of that period by the Islamic Antichrist and the final battle of that brief war will be the battle of Armageddon. (See Archive Prophecy Update Number 321.

I Thessalonians 5:3,4 – For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. [4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

“While in China, Mr Putin will also attend a regional security summit on Thursday.”

First, the final war of the Age of the Gentiles begins between Islam and Israel. Islam drives Israel into the Negev Wilderness in a conventional war under a nuclear umbrella by the East and the West. A truce (Hudna) is reached at Beersheba under UN supervision with US , British, French,, Russian, and Chinese approval in the UN Security Council.

The following two paragraph definition of an Islamic “hudna “ was extracted from an article in the New York Times titled “Pause for Peace,” November 1, 2008, by Ahmed Yousef:

A truce is referred to in Arabic as a “hudna.” Typically covering 10 years, a hudna is recognized in Islamic jurisprudence as a legitimate and binding contract. A hudna extends beyond the Western concept of a cease-fire and obliges the parties to use the period to seek a permanent, nonviolent resolution to their differences. The Koran finds great merit in such efforts at promoting understanding among different people. Whereas war dehumanizes the enemy and makes it easier to kill, a hudna affords the opportunity to humanize one’s opponents and understand their position with the goal of resolving the intertribal or international dispute.

Such a concept — a period of nonwar but only partial resolution of a conflict — is foreign to the West and has been greeted with much suspicion. Many Westerners I speak to wonder how one can stop the violence without ending the conflict.

The following Excerpt “LAST 1335 DAYS OF THE AGE OF THE GENTILES” appears beneath Archive Prophecy Update Number 321. This is the last Prophecy Update we put up December 9, 2011. Since that time I have issued only blogs. I am unable to transmit diagrams on my blogs, but if you will click on “Prophecy Updates” on our web site menu, it will be the first one you see after you click because it is the last one posted.

THIS IS WHAT IS POSTED BENEATH THE DIAGRAM

LAST 1335 DAYS OF THE AGE OF GENTILES

Initial attack occurs – It takes Islam 75 days to drive the IDF into the Negev Wilderness – Great earthquake of Revelation 6:12 occurs, Israel holds at Beersheba, and truce is declared on urging of world powers.

Israel remains in Negev for 1260 days, then truce is broken by Islam.

1290 days after initial attack antichrist returns from Egypt and sits as the abomination of desolation on Temple Mount in his command post (appeden) -The two witnesses are killed and caught up – The rapture occurs immediately thereafter as seventh trump sounds – and for some 45 days God’s wrath is poured out on the lost while the saved are being judged in heaven – Battle of Armageddon begins and Second Advent of Christ’s return ends it.

Daniel 12:11,12 – And from the time that the daily sacri?ce shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. [12] Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

A blessed remnant of Jews will be allowed to go into physical Millennial Reign in the land of Israel

Russia-China unity on Syria as Putin arrives in Beijing

Mr Putin says he wants to increase trade between Russia and China to $200bn

China and Russia have reinforced their opposition to foreign intervention in Syria, as Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Beijing.

A Chinese foreign ministry spokesman said both countries remain opposed to forced regime change and urged support for UN envoy Kofi Annan’s peace plan.

Mr Putin is at the beginning of a three-day visit to China to bolster relations and attend a security summit.

Both countries have twice blocked UN resolutions critical of Damascus.

Beijing currently holds the UN Security Council’s rotating presidency, and Russia and China have long resisted pressure to remove Syrian President Bashar al-Assad from power amid ongoing unrest.

The statement came as Syria announced that ambassadors from several Western states and Turkey are unwelcome (persona non grata).
Michael Bristow BBC News, Beijing

With the situation in Syria deteriorating, Russia and China are once again coming under pressure from other world leaders to help stop the conflict.

They favour a peace plan put forward by former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan. But that now looks to be unravelling.

Up until now, these two countries have acted in unison on this issue. But that might be tested if the violence in Syria continues.

Although, the leaders are expected to discuss the sale of more oil, gas and coal to China, that is likely to be overshadowed by the talks on Syria.

There were also reports of fresh violence around Syria, further raising questions about the viability of Mr Annan’s peace plan.

Syria’s rebel Free Syrian Army (FSA) said on Monday it was no longer committed to the nominal ceasefire.

Energy talks

Energy and foreign policy expected to dominate the agenda of Mr Putin’s trip to China.

The Russian president said ahead of the trip that he wanted to further boost booming bilateral trade, which reached $84bn (£55bn) last year.

The Russian leader is taking to Beijing six cabinet ministers, the head of gas giant Gazprom and other energy companies.

Some 17 major business and trade deals between Russia and China are expected to be signed in Beijing, Mr Putin’s aides say.

But it remains unclear whether this will include a long-awaited gas agreement that would allow Moscow to supply some 70bn cubic metres (2472bn cubic ft) of gas to its neighbour.

Latest reports suggest that pricing disagreements remain between Russia and China – the world’s biggest producer and consumer of energy respectively.

On the eve of the visit, Mr Putin told China’s state media that he wanted to increase bilateral trade to $100bn in 2015 and $200bn by 2020.

He said the target could be achieved “ahead of schedule”.

On Wednesday, Mr Putin will meet Vice-Premier Li Keqiang, who is tipped to be the next premier, and Xi Jinping, who is expected to become the next president after a stage-managed leadership change later this year.

While in China, Mr Putin will also attend a regional security summit on Thursday.

Rebels set Syrian fighter jets and helicopters ablaze opposite Golan

DEBKAfile Exclusive Report

June 3, 2012, 10:42 PM (GMT+02:00)

As Syrian ruler Bashar Assad stood before parliament in Damascus Sunday, June 3, declaring, “Not even monsters could have carried out the Houla massacre,” rebels attacked a Syrian Air Force base east of the southern town of Deraa opposite the Israeli Golan border – their first such attack in the 14-month uprising,

DEBKfiles’s military sources report. Several rebel bands firing mortars set fire to fighter aircraft and assault helicopters in their hangars and ripped up runways at the As Suwayda air base.

The burning warplanes were a strategic bull’s eye for the anti-Assad revolt.
The air base they attacked is Syria’s southernmost air facility. It is positioned to be available for backing up the Syrian units posted on the Golan border opposite Israeli forces – the 5th, 7th, and 10th Divisions. Arrayed behind them in reserve is the 9th Division, the only one the regime has never enlisted for operations to crush the revolt.

The air fleet housed at As Suwayda is there to provide air cover for Syrian border units in the event of a war with Israel and engage Israeli warplanes coming into to attack the divisions on the ground. It is also entrusted with providing air cover for the forces posted in the Jordanian and Iraqi border sectors.

No information was immediately available about the number or types of aircraft destroyed by the rebels or casualties. The Syrian state media have not disclosed the incident.

In northern Syria, our military sources reveal that in the last few days the rebels are showing up with a new piece of war materiel, improvised armored vehicles sporting anti-air rockets or heavy machine guns. They are capable of downing the aircraft or combat helicopters the regime is increasingly sending to attack the heavily embattled protest centers in that region.

These APC’s are essentially Toyota pickups fitted with steel plates to protect teams of three rebel fighters each behind the rockets and machine guns. Their homemade APCs are dubbed “T-HOMS 75.”

Obama’s air-sea blockade plan for Iran delays Israeli strike, Hormuz at Stake?

Begin Excerpt 2 from DEBKAfile Exclusive Report

June 4, 2012, 2:41 PM (GMT+02:00)

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to hold off attacking Iran’s nuclear program in the coming months by promising a new set of severe sanctions against Iran. US administration officials assured DEBKAfile’s

Washington sources that Israel’s leaders were won over by the Obama administration’s promise to ratchet up US and Europe sanctions against Iran if the next round of negotiations with the six world powers in less than two weeks gets bogged down again.

These are the new sanctions hanging over Iran as reported by our sources:

1. On July 1, the Europeans will activate the embargo that left pending on Iranian oil exports and banks In the fall, the US administration will bring out its most potent economic weapon: an embargo on aircraft and sea vessels visiting Iranian ports. Any national airline or international aircraft touching down in Iran will be barred from US and West European airports. The same rule will apply to private and government-owned vessels, including oil tankers. Calling in at an Iranian port will automatically exclude them from entry to a US or European harbor.
2. This sanction would clamp down an air and naval siege on the Islamic Republic without a shot being fired. Word of the US plan prompted a deliberately provocative visit by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards commander Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari Thursday, May 31 to his forces stationed on the disputed three islands commanding the Strait of Hormuz, Abu Musa, Little Tunb and Big Tumb. The islands are claimed by the United Arab Emirates. A previous visit by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on April 11 stirred up a major outcry in the Gulf region. In Washington, Jafari’s visit it was taken as Tehran’s reminder of its repeated threat to close the Hormuz Straits in the event of a blockade to the transit of a large part of the world’s oil.
3. President Obama promised Prime Minister Netanyahu to deal personally with India and Indonesia, the most flagrant violators of anti-Iran sanctions who make their financial networks available for helping Tehran evade restrictions on its international business activities. Washington, according to our sources, made sure its sanctions plan was leaked to Tehran through diplomatic and intelligence back channels as a means of twisting Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s arm into instructing his negotiators at the Moscow talks on June 16 to start showing flexibility on the world powers’ demands to discontinue uranium enrichment up to 20 percent and stop blocking international nuclear agency inspectors’ access to sites suspected of engaging in nuclear weapons development.
4. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton no doubt had Israel’s latest concession to the Obama administration in mind, Sunday, June 3, when she brushed aside as “nothing new” questions about Khamenei’s threat to respond to an Israeli attack with “thunderous response.” She explained, “We look forward to what the Iranians actually bring to the table in Moscow. We want to see a diplomatic resolution. We now have an opportunity to achieve it, and we hope it is an opportunity that’s not lost, for everyone’s sake.”Tehran has now been made aware that if that opportunity is indeed lost, there may be some pretty heavy music to face in the form of an international air and sea embargo.

War Is Marching to Damascus

Patrick Cockburn

(Independent-UK)

Damascus feels like a city expecting the worst to happen and seeing no way to avoid it.

Christians are fearful and are all too aware of what happened to their co-religionists in Iraq after 2003.

The present Syrian government may be trying to stir up sectarian strife in order to ensure that the minorities – Alawite, Christian, Druze and Kurd – remain on its side. But it did not invent these communal differences.

One diplomat long resident in Damascus said the YouTube pictures posted by the opposition are “deceptive.” “When they show anti-government demonstrations, the activists always edit out the bit where the crowd shouts ‘death to the Alawites!'”

Weapons from Saudi Arabia are now reported to be reaching the insurgents.

Iraqi officials say that al-Qaeda fighters in Diyala province northeast of Baghdad, notorious for massacring Shia villagers and travelers, have headed back to Syria.
