Nothing has really changed in the Lebanon, Hizbollah, and Israel situation, but a tremendous amount of data has been accumulated as to how to dramatically defeat Israel in a war whose occurrence is “Just a Matter of Time.” The following article by Zvi Bar’el, Haaretz Correspondence, gives indications that the status quo is returning to Lebanon, and we can look forward to yet another war in the future.

ANALYSIS: Second Lebanon war has changed nothing

The Lebanese Army, which is supposed to start taking up positions in southern Lebanon Thursday, has received clear public directives from its government – to defend the state, to prevent the presence there of an authority, other than that of the government, and to help the refugees return home and secure their property. In practice, it has been ordered not to confront Hezbollah and not to collect arms – neither from individuals nor from storage sites.
The directives came following negotiations conducted by Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and Parliament Speaker Nabih Beri with Hassan Nasrallah: The three agreed that the issue of Hezbollah’s disarmament would be debated at a later, undetermined date during confidential discussions
between the government factions.
The sides in Lebanon are thus upholding only a small portion of Siniora’s seven-point plan, and even a smaller portion of UN Security Council Resolution 1701: Siniora’s commitment to a single army will have to wait; and Hezbollah’s dismantling will take place, if ever, voluntarily and not by force.
At this stage, Hezbollah is prepared to promise that southern Lebanon will be free of military activity, but not devoid of its arms.
The agreement between the sides came in the wake of a Beirut meeting with the foreign ministers of Turkey, France, Pakistan and Malaysia, which are supposed to send reinforcements to bolster the UNIFIL forces in the area and have been promised that every effort will be made to ensure that their soldiers will not have to confront armed Hezbollah forces.
However, it is clear to all sides that three armies – the Lebanese Army, Hezbollah and the old UNIFIL force – will be operating in southern Lebanon as of this weekend, before the international forces arrive.
What remains unclear is the agreement Hezbollah and the Lebanese government reached regarding a military response in the event of an Israeli breach of the cease-fire after the deployment of UNIFIL and the Lebanese forces.
Will Hezbollah continue to be a deterrent force that can respond spontaneously, or will it have to wait for approval from the Lebanese government? And what would be considered a breach of the cease-fire?
At this stage, and in this regard, Hezbollah will continue to call the shots – for the Lebanese government too.
As such, the pre-war situation remains in place: Despite its mandate to defend the country, the Lebanese Army will still not be able to respond to an Israeli breach of the cease-fire agreement.
The Shaba Farms area is also an issue that has not yet been resolved. Syria, to whom the area officially belongs, said Tuesday it would not object to
the deployment in Shaba of UNIFIL soldiers, but would not allow the Lebanese Army to patrol or set up positions there.
For the Lebanese government and Hezbollah, the area is still occupied territory that has to be liberated. The Lebanese government is ready for a diplomatic struggle, while Hezbollah reserves the right to liberate the area by force.
Syria has declared, however, that it will discuss the issue with Lebanon only after the liberation of the entire Golan Heights. In this regard too, therefore, as long as Israel does not propose a unilateral withdrawal from the Shaba Farms area, the war has changed nothing.

As I indicated in our previous Blog, “It’s Just a Matter of Time,” from a popular song by Randy Travis, the prophecies of the Old and New Testament will assuredly all be fulfilled by the power of God. To those who do believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, they know what God states will happen, and they do not question his word, but do indeed have a curiosity as to WHEN it will happen. And, while I do not believe, according to the Scriptures, one is justified in setting a specific time for a specific event before it occurs, the Bible indicates that we are not “the children of darkness,” but rather “the children of light,” and, as such, should at least have a good general idea that an event is drawing very near, by the things which were to be occurring just before it was to occur. We should, according to the Scriptures, not spiritually be sleeping while the event is drawing near, such that we are abruptly awakened when it is suddenly fulfilled before our very eyes. It is not wrong to make a guess as to a time span during which the event seems likely to occur, as long as one is up front and honest in advising the reader or listener it is a guesstimate.
It’s Just a Matter of Time Until Israel is attacked.
But they must first believe they can, by their security walls and northern DMZ, be able to control a time of “Peace and safety” for their civilian population.
I Thessalonians 5:3,4 – For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
[4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
The “brethren” should not be shocked when this event occurs, because believers are called the “children of light.”
I Thessalonians 5:5,6 – Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. [6] Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
I expect Hizbollah to be much better equipped with greater stores and more sophisticated weaponry for the next war with Israel. My guess is that, at some point in time between 2008 and 2012, they will reach a condition of readiness sufficient to defeat Israel as a part of the 10 toes of Daniel 2.
It’s Just a Matter of Time until the 10 toes attack Israel from
the north and slaughter two-thirds of the Jewish population.
Zechariah 13:8 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
I believe this is likely to be fulfilled at some point in time between 2008 and 2012.
It’s Just a Matter of Time until the city of Jerusalem falls to the armies of antichrist.
Zechariah 14:1,2 – Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
[2] For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
I believe Jerusalem is likely to fall at some point in time between 2008 and 2012.
It’s Just a Matter of Time until the one-third of Israel which remains is both driven and flown into the Negev Wilderness.
Revelation 12:6,14 – And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. [14] And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
I believe this event is likely to be fulfilled at some point in time between 2008 and 2012.
It’s Just a Matter of Time until Israel completes three and one-half years
of being blocked in the Negev and comes charging out, delivered by God, to claim the land promised to their Father Abraham.
Zechariah 13:9 – And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.
Micah 5:5-7 – And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men. [6] And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.
